the thing I love so much about writing a Mandalorian Batfamily is that in Mando culture, the forehead tap they do (Keldabe) can be very sweet and gentle and also the most passionate thing ever where youā€™re basically head butting your brother and might actually hurt yourself if only one of you is wearing a helmet but it doesnā€™t matter, thatā€™s how much you love them and that simply describes the Batfamily to a T. Just slamming your heads together in love and relief so hard one of you bleeds.

Star Wars x DC Crossover
With Mandalorian Batman. He would fit as a mandalorian so well. Not just the whole 'no knowing his identity', or 'adopt every violent child he comes across' but also for the colors associated for their armor. Gray is mourning a lost loved one. Black is for justice. Blue for reliability, Gold for vengeance. Green for duty, red for honoring a parent. Tell me those don't fit with the batfamily.
No idea what everyone else would be but I am open to ideas lol
(no idea if I ever posted this art lol)

To Yeet (Or Be Yeeted): Aliit Bat Style
by Nation_Ustria ā€œItā€™s not actually called ā€œYeeting Day,ā€ is it?ā€ Bruce asks Kal-El as they watch Cass take down Jason from behind. ā€œThatā€™s what most Jedi call it nowadays,ā€ Kal answers easily, ā€œbut no, itā€™s not. Itā€™s actually called Kawanetana, which is roughly, uh,ā€ he pauses, probably searching for the closest translation, ā€œDay of Trust. The holiday is all about trusting in the Force, in yourself, and in your fellow Jedi, which, well,ā€ Kalā€™s voice turns dry as he gestures at where Dick is kicking Tim off of the cliff, Kon and Jon waiting below to catch him. ā€œYā€™know. Are all kind of essential in this type of situation, hence the tradition of throwing each other off of the Templeā€™s highest tower.ā€ And hence all of Bruceā€™s ade deciding to repeatedly ā€œyeetā€ each other off of a cliff for fun, although of course theyā€™d also had to go and turn it into a tournament as well. I'm rewatching The Mandalorian and now I'm thinking of a Mando/Red Hood crossover where Jason is the Mandalorian and instead of Grogu he takes either a baby Tim or Damian under his wing.
If people are interested I'll make a full headcanons/au post on it, let me know.

Where's my Jay as Mando au?
Where's my Mandalorian au where comatose!Jay is not found by Talia, but he ends up being a skilled assassin anyway, some kind of mercenary like Deathstroke, but one that doesn't accept any kind of contract and is known for not getting more casualties than strictly necessary, and for his soft spot for children.
One day, some enemy of Ra's kidnaps Damian, and Talia seeks out Deathstroke's help, but he's in the middle of a contract, so he recomends this brat who is one of the best of them and one of the few she could trust her child with.
So this mercenary, who has no memory from his past before becoming a mercenary except for some mad laugh and a few images, breaks into the enemy's fortress and rescues the angry little bean that is nine year old Dami. A Dami who is totally impressed with this peasant's skills, though his proper upbringing prevents him from showing it (ie: he doesn't know how to express his feelings, because that's hereditary and both is parents are emotionally constipated).
So Jay takes baby Dami back to Ra's, who's making the preparations to pass his soul into baby Dami's body, so Jay comes back and takes both the baby and the money with him. They spent some time travelling and avoiding Ra's claws, get some help from other mercenaries and even some capes, maybe Tim's Titans, and Wonder Woman just to see Jay's fangirlging ass die from fangirling.
So Jay starts to see baby Dami as his own, and after some more assassination attempts, Jay decides to start training an already skilled baby Dami. Once Jay finally convince baby Dami of what's Ra's' real intentions, the kid finally tells him who his father is, and he's the only one that can protect them, so Jay has to take baby Dami to Gotham.
There's some angst and Jay delying the trip 'cause he's gonna lose baby Dami, and baby Dami refusing to stay with his father unless Mercy (Jay's mercenary name coz Mando= Mandalorian, Mercy= Mercenary), and Bruce refusing unless he can see Mercy's face, and Jay takes off his helmet (Red Hood helmet), and then all angst and pain and everything comes down.

In a starwars universe Bruce was born a son of wealth, and when his parents died their Mandalorian body guard Alfred takes him in. Then Bruce find Dick orphaned when thugs kill his performance troop (I hc Dick as the same species as Ashoka) and Bruce just travels the galaxy adopting kids into his clan and kicking ass.
His armor is all black and his emblem is that of a large winged creature.
One of the things I love about Mandalorian culture is that it basically involves loving who ever you want, raising as many kids as you want, wearing cool body armor and flying around on highly unreliable jetpacks, and trying to shoot a space wizard who can send bullets back at you which is peak herbo/himbo culture. But seriously you don't get in trouble for picking a laser sword that's the wrong color, being forced to never see your parents as a toddler because you could move blocks with your mind, or never allowed to have family or life outside the Jedi order. One of the things that the EU established is both how family oriented Mando culture and one of the reasons they dislike the Jedi is partially because they force a child to separate from their family.

November recs
Booting this out the door before Yuletide hits! Quite a hodgepodge of fandoms from November: three fics from Nirvana in Fire out of the annual NIF fic exchange, plus fic from The Mandalorian, The Witcher (no S2 spoilers), DCU, Supernatural, The Untamed, and an original superheroes fic.
NIRVANA IN FIRE
with honor by tciddaemina (Lie Zhanying/Jingyan)
For seven months, Zhanying watched his mother grow more thin and gaunt, watched his brothers grow more brittle, the bags beneath their eyes deepening with every long night spent in the workshop. For seven months, Zhanying watched his youngest siblings smile and laugh and try to pretend their stomachs weren't still rumbling when they went to bed, growing thinner every day, and in the eighth month Zhanying said no more and joined the army.
Not my usual pairing, but this slow burn backstory romance was fantastic, following Zhanying through his service in Prince Jingā€™s army and their changing relationship over the years. Fealty and pining and wordless chemistry, oh my!
Blackbirds by sandalwoodbox (vid, gen)
Cai Quan and Shen Zhui have been waiting for this moment.
This is a great vid for anyone who has feelings about our favorite ministers finding someone worthy to follow, and their friendship.
Lilies That Bloom by circumference (gen)
Liyang, after the trial.
Sweet short piece about Liyang getting some answers re: MCS, and starting to spread her wings again.
OTHER
Crash and Burn by Aureutr_Accoredge (The Mandalorian, Din/Luke)
There had been no Seeing Stone on Tython that Grogu could use to call for a Jedi. They had survived Gideon's light cruiser mostly by luck. And now Din Djarin is trapped between trying to resume his old life with Grogu in tow or facing what wielding the Darksaber truly means for him and his people. Mostly he just wants a nap.
Luke Skywalker is looking for Jedi artifacts he can use to help build a curriculum for the school he seeks to create. Not that he knows where it will be. Or how to find pupils. But then he runs into a shiny stranger whose beskar armor makes him a null space in the Force. And he doesn't know who Luke is.
Intrigued (and in need of parts to repair his ship), he Skywalkers his way into tagging along on the latest bounty.
I LOVED this: itā€™s very long and plotty dealing with Din becoming Mandaā€™lor, with a great meet-cute to slow burn romance, but mostly this author gets Luke Skywalker in all his dorky-epic glory. Really interesting treatment of Lukeā€™s trauma from his fight with the Emperor and the war generally, and the rare Din/Luke fic that really showcases Leia.
Silver and Copper by Heronfem (Witcher, Geralt/Jaskier)
Geralt is just supposed to pass through the quiet Lettenhove area. He's not anticipating being begged by its people to help save their viscount from a curse that keeps him from daylight. Lord Jaskier, they call him, and he's likely dying.
As Geralt struggles to untangle the ugly web of history that has lead to the increasingly complicated curse, he finds himself spending more and more time with the strange young viscount and wondering just what he might have been before the curse, and who he might be after. But things are not always as they seem, and as the curse tightens its grip on Jaskier, Geralt is forced to face the fear of failing yet another person whose choices were stolen from them.
Very AU, but a gorgeous dark fairytale with a strong backbone of hope and community. Mind the warnings - Jaskierā€™s father is a definite monster in this.
Exit Strategy by smilebackwards (DCU/Batfamily, gen)
Batman needs a Robin and Batman has a Robin. Tim is just extraneous now, vestigial. Heā€™s a bandage over a healed wound. He doesnā€™t know what heā€™s hanging on to.
Or: Tim didnā€™t expect his exit strategy from the Batfamily to involve quite so much bonding time with Damian over Wayne Enterprises bureaucracy.
*rolls around in the Tim feels* *and the Tim-Damien brotherly feels* Mmm, delicious.
and you can use my skin by unicornpoe (Supernatural, Dean/Cas)
Cas comes back. Dean canā€™t stop touching him.
This doesnā€™t break any new ground plotwise for a S15 fixit, but itā€™s beautifully written: immensely tender and healing and romantic.
Revenge is a Side Dish Best Served With Tea by merakily (The Untamed, Wangxian)
Despite popular opinion, Lan Wangji is actually: Ā  Ā 1. Terrible at diplomacy Ā  Ā 2. Surprisingly vengeful Ā  Ā 3. A master of holding grudges
Five times Lan Wangji gets his petty revenge + one time Wei Wuxian calls him out.
Very fun! Like the summary says, itā€™s tea-based petty bitch LWJ revenge fluff, with a nice underlying thread of affectionate-and-protective Wangxian.
His Greatest Adversary Yet by architeuthis (original superheroes, slash)
Doctor Nowhere doesn't do the nemesis thing. But the Blue Beacon hasn't been seen in a while, and the more he learns about why, the more it haunts him.
Wonderful mad scientist/superhero piece - Max is such a distinctive and hilarious narrator right from the start, the older-person-figuring-out-theyā€™re-queer feelings are strong, and thereā€™s a lot of deft worldbuilding in the background. [For a little bonus fic-of-fic porn, please enjoy All Along The Watchtower (Or At Least Against The Men's Room Door) by PersianPenName as well, which is very hot and funny.]

Hi šŸ‘‹!
Iā€™m Eli! I set up an Ao3 account at Christmas 2020 and Iā€™ve been posting there for a while
My pen name on Ao3 is MasterOfMyFateCaptainOfMySoul and you can find it in the series links
I currently have several series posted with plans for more.
1. Pride Month 2021 where I wrote a one shot for every day of pride
2. The Renegade and the Rebel which is a Renegade!Dick Grayson/ Red Hood Jason Todd. Renegade was originally a Talon and the main story revolves around the eradication of the Court and RenHoodā€™s slow burn.
3. Posadh Eagraithe: The Series which spawned from one of the fics in my Pride series.
4. SpideyTorch Week 2021. All one shots here have been cross posted to Tumblr as well.
5. Whumptober 2021 which is completed as of 31/10/21 and is crossposted on Tumblr too.Ā
6. The Price We Pay For Freedom (the cost of our lives) which comprises of three connected Whumptober 2021 oneshots centred on Wally West, put into a series for ease of reading.Ā
6.Ā that awful sound. A series focused on Dick Grayson and Jason Toddā€™s brotherhood, continued on from a Whumptober 2021 oneshot that involved Dick killing the Joker. Currently in the middle of writing, but two fics have already been posted
7.. iā€™d give you my lungs so you could breathe. Same as above, except the OG Whumptober 2021 oneshot was post Forever Evil and involved Dick being captured by Roman Sionis before Jason broke him out. Still writing the conclusion, but two fics have been posted.
8. Whumptober 2022, which is finished on Ao3 and is currently being crossposted here.Ā
I also have several one shots posted as well that arenā€™t attached to any of my series.
1. Parjai! Itā€™s a 5k Mandalorian fic with the premise of Jaster Mereel somehow adopting Din Djarin and Paz Vizla.
2. Hour Of Peace. Itā€™s a Witcher fic inspired by the amazing Warlord AU written by @inexplicifics. It deals with the return of Aren of the Manticores to Kaer Morhen through the eyes of his Manticore siblings.
3. Trypanophobia. Itā€™s a UA fanfic dealing with Diego getting his first vaccine and Klaus helping him through his fear of needles. I was just after getting my 2nd one and I was running a fever of 39C* and it seemed like the greatest idea ever. Iā€™m pretty proud of it ngl
4. Every Man Has To Die. An In Deeper Waters fanfiction. You can guess by the title what happens in it ;)Ā
5. it doesnā€™t hurt. A Sandman x Batfamily oneshot, starting with Death meeting Jason in Ethiopia and the many times she runs into them afterwards.
Hope you enjoy it here :)

Omg I love your writing so much Iā€™m just dying to how Bruce got the batkids in bloodletting? I know Damian and Cass were covered a little bit with death watch being the league of assassins in this case, but what about dick? Was the circus likeā€¦ an intergalactic traveling circus? Maybe Timā€™s parents instead of being socialites were some other station of power, generals or something who were killed in battle? Does Duke still have a metahuman bio dad? And Stephā€¦ is there like a mando version of CPS?
Ah thank you for asking about this anon! I've had some side stories/shorts in mind for bloodletting, but haven't gotten around to them since the main plot is heating up a lot (and writing the chapters is a lot of work).
The bare outline I usually work with in my mind is:
Damian was part of Death Watch/Kyr'tsad under Talia. He's not Bruce's son, despite Talia's desire to have a child with him. Talia beat him horribly when he questioned her orders and Bruce found him on a raid or mission and adopted him. Damian never renounced Talia so she's still technically his buir, which is difficult since she tortured and somewhat disfigured him (semi-permanent limp).
Cass was raised as a child soldier by Death Watch/Kyr'tsad. Like many of the unfortunate children in this scenario, she was set across from Mand'alor Wayne on the battlefield. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but she defected and Bruce adopted her on the spot.
Dick was the child of spacers Bruce encountered while on a mission. His parents died in a ship crash and Bruce -- newly Mand'alor I think -- took Dick with him as he finished his mission, as they were in a remote area. Once he completed the mission, he took Dick back to Mandalore and gave him the option to find his family or return to another planet. Dick wanted to stay with Bruce, and they said the gai bal manda a few moments later. Probably in front of a tearful Alfred or something.
Jason grew up on Concord Dawn, like the character I sometimes model him after (Jango). Bruce encountered him on a mission like he did with Dick. I'm debating him having the same background as Jango (Bruce helps him avenge the deaths of his buire who were killed for sheltering the Mand'alor from Kyr'tsad) but haven't firmly decided yet. Regardless of his backstory, Bruce knew the instant he saw him -- in the Manda and in real life -- that he would be the next Mand'alor.
Tim, I have sometimes considered, was the child of Mandalorian socialites/etc who joined the New Mandalorians and eschewed the Haat'ade ways of the new Mand'alor. They were close with Bruce's father, the former Mand'alor, but didn't agree with the new empire. Tim jumped a ship as soon as he knew how, demanded to be let into the Haat'ade stronghold, and for an audience with the Mand'alor. I like to think Bruce adored him instantly but didn't adopt him for fear of stepping on his former buire's toes. Tim thought that was ridiculous, renounced them despite Bruce's protests, and basically strongarmed Bruce into saying the gai bal Manda. Otherwise he was going to get like, one of the guards to do it (they all loved this crazy mando kid from the passive New Mandalorians and were fighting each other for second chance at adoption)
Duke I like to think has non-baseline human ancestry that isn't quite apparent visually. I haven't decided what that is yet. He came to serve his Mand'alor as a young orphan when he heard about Bruce's rise to the throne. Dick immediately grabbed him, shook him in front of Bruce, and was like are you seriously employing kids? To which Bruce said [puppy eyes] and started training him as a guard, if only to protect himself. The adoption happened a few months later.
Steph, I'm not sure yet. But I like your idea, anon! Mandalorians feel very fiercely about the treatment of children. I imagine, however Bruce came into contact with her, it was intense. And she was secretly relieved and happy to be adopted and wanted that badly.

me making yet another obscure, complicated pun in mando'a: ah yes i'm a writer
(it's funny because the New Mandalorians/Evaarā€™ade don't wear armor, which is a point of contention with other Mandalorians. The traditional Mando'a saying for when someone has an overinflated sense of authority is "all helmet, no head" but Jason is making the joke that the Evaar'ade representative is "all head, no helmet" or "big headed and no helmet")
