Gshade was originally created for FFXIV to be used there... technically violates the TOU for FFXIV... but folks did use it. There's a whole mess of stuff as recent as 10 hours ago to help you figure out if you should continue to use it or not.
Personally from the TLDR... I'd say no. There's some kind of PP battle going on atm with two developers...and the one put something in to deter the other from copying their version... or something like that. As long as PP battles are happening... I'd stay clear of Gshade in all incarnations or never update it.

I think Droid Sonic deserves a service animal after all he's been through
(Angst warning ⚠️)
Since Sonic fell into the Android Copier, the Cyber components and software were not matched to his brain and nervous system correctly.
Sonic's nervous system is not compatible with the Droid components now fused to his body. They don't interface and work together, which lead to glitches, and in worse cases, short circuits... better recognized as blackouts and fainting spells. Sonic could be standing perfectly still, and in the next second, his body fails him, and he's on the ground, out of it or unconscious. The short circuits affect his heart rhythm, leading to an arrhythmia and low blood pressure, which causes the fainting. It's difficult to tell when these episodes occur, as the 'misfires' happen seemingly at random.
Then Sonic experienced an episode out in public one day. A service dog in training alerted to the danger accordingly and was able to prevent Sonic from getting more injured when it happened. Since the dog had successfully alerted to the medical emergency, it gave Team Sonic the idea for a service animal for future events until Tails can successfully turn Sonic back.
Sonic now has a service dog, a gorgeous basset hound called Daisy.

Hey everyone, something a little different from the usual stuff I post, but last week my project group at university finished our semester project, which also means that (aside our thesis and exam) we're almost finished with our bachelor's degree.
Over the last ~3 months we've been working on a small video game and it would mean the world to us if more people would check it out and maybe even give feedback. It's available for Windows and Mac, also it's free :)
I was mainly responsible for everything graphics-related and worked on concept art, 2D and 3D assets (models, textures etc.) and some VFX, but since we were a team of just 6 people everyone helped out where they could, so I also contributed to the coding and audio in parts. It was a lot of work, but it's also been a very fun experience and we're proud of our achievements. In the coming week we're going to present our project at an exhibition at our university, but we already wanted to make it available for playing before :3

How would it affect Malware tho?
I previously made a post about that here, but short answer: Zennith would find Malware and immediately work to create a fix for the pain he experiences and you know, make him not kill every Galvanic Mechamorph he touches.
Once that happens Malware feels in debt to her, to a degree. He goes on to become the head of the Mechamorph security force Galvan Prime seems to have, and also a personal guard for Zennith as she’s both the Creator of the Omnitrix and the Galvan’s First Thinker.
#my asks#ben 10#zennith#malware#malware ben 10#I think zennith could accomplish this so much faster compared to azmuth#besides not just ignoring the issue for long amounts of time#is that azmuth was trying to make malware a normal mechamorph#while zennith was only trying to accommodate him#so imagine him as sort of a mix between his first two designs#still changing to that red color scheme I should mention#gwen 10

Ransomware attack causes city street lights to "misbehave" - CyberTalk

Ransomware attack causes city street lights to "misbehave" - CyberTalk
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In England, Leicester City is experiencing persistent problems with its street light system due to a recent cyber attack.
While the street lights are ordinarily switched on and off at dawn and dusk, for the last six weeks, street lights across Leicester have remained illuminated during both the day and night. In some instances, street lights remain lit on one side of the street, while remaining off on the other side of the street.
Residents have noticed and commented on this peculiar behavior. When one individual spoke with the Leicester City Council about the issue, he was informed that the cyber attack had affected the ‘central operating system’ for the street lights, causing them to “misbehave.”
What happened
The cyber attack in question occurred on March 7th of this year and has been labeled “highly sophisticated.”
The responsible party, the INC Ransom group, is known for targeting government, education and healthcare organizations around the world. Attackers appear to have stolen documents from the Leicester City Council, a number of which have surfaced online.
Upon recognizing signs of an impending issue, the Leicester City Council IT team did remove systems from the internet; a standard best practice in the event of a possible ransomware attack.
Local impact
The unintended and continuous illumination of street lights is a concern for locals due to the high level of energy consumption and high costs involved.
“The lights in my area have been burning away all day and all night, so it’s going to be costing a lot,” said resident Roger Ewens. The City Council aims to resolve the issue by the end of the first week in May.
A spokesperson for the Leicester City Council stated that IT systems were shut down as a precautionary measure in the aftermath of the attack. In turn, specialists cannot currently address faults in the street lighting system.
The spokesperson explained that the default mode for such lights is for them to remain ‘on’ in the event of disruptions to systems, ensuring road safety and preventing unlit areas from becoming hazardous.
Technical details
To more technical readers, it may come as a surprise that these street lights are centrally controlled. All that needs to happen is for the street lights to turn on at dusk and to turn off at dawn, a process that could ostensibly be managed via an ambient light sensor.
Nonetheless, a number of cities are swapping out ambient light sensors with wireless controllers. This arguably provides operators with grater flexibility and the ability to switch lights on and off in such a way as to reduce energy consumption.
More information
The Council states that it is working with the Leicestershire Police and the National Cyber Security Centre to investigate the incident. The City will not be paying a ransom.
The Council is also committed to diligently resolving all issues via a series of restorative steps. Efforts will be made to restore normal operations of the street lighting system as quickly as possible.

Quick reminder, despite how much transphobes complain about "shoving it in their faces", shove it in everyone's faces. You don't need to tell people you're trans, but if nobody is loud and gets people's attention directed at a problem, nobody will know about it.
Long part comes now with the example
My best example is poly mc (a Minecraft launcher) vs fabric (a Minecraft mod loader) both have had huge transphobia issues with the owners blocking/removing changes and removing people's access to editing the projects because they were trans. The difference is how people found out, initially when poly mc did these things, they were sudden, its been described as a hostile takeover where one person removed the code of conduct along with all maintainers. Because of how sudden this was people initially thought it was hacked, this immediately got every user and beyond to pay attention because it could pose a risk to them and as a hacker could install malware. When they explained they weren't hacked and were just a bigot, it didn't take long for a fork to be made that to my knowledge is much larger than poly mc is. Fabric, on the other hand, is still probably the most popular mod loader, despite a fork being made before the poly mc thing even happened, why? Because most people don't know that anything happened, there was never a big event to grab people's attention, and I only recently found out. Looking online, most people don't even really know what quilt (the fabric fork) is and why it exists. A lot of people don't see it as trying to replace fabric, but as another loader that makes modding more complicated.
#complain loudly#let people know#another factor in the examples is that fabrics issues are “less”#the primary thing I have heard is the owner refused to cut ties with the person who took care of community stuff#and they are extremely bigoted#compare that to suddenly removing a code of conduct and all contributers#and you can kinda see why prism mc (the fork) still warns that poly mc might install malware#but that doesnt make one form of bigotry acceptable#tw bigotry#tw transphobes#its honestly suprising just how quickly people seemed to switch to prism launcher#but quilt is still mostly unused#so most mods you use are from the fact that it is backwards compatible with fabric#prism mc#quilt mod loader#prism launcher

my hot computer take is that Microsoft Edge is malware. It's ridiculously difficult to uninstall, it causes INSANE performance issues and it's always running in the background. Shit's malware.
It's always running in the background and is difficult to stop. I have to run a cleaner program just to shut the damn thing off. And in a matter of hours it's running again. I have never opened it until today when I had to get the version number to attempt to delete it. It just opens itself. And you can't close it without a fight.
It causes absolutely disgusting performance issues. There is a full 3 second delay between when I pause a video and when it actually stops while this program is running. I can barely play online games because of the lag. Pages won't open and new messages won't load. All of this goes away in the few moments of peace I have after running the program to kill it, but inevitably, like a malevolent phoenix, it will rise again. There is nothing I can do.
I have tried numerous methods of uninstalling it. Nothing has worked. According to the people who have managed this impossible task, it's a futile effort since it RE-INSTALLS ITSELF within a day. Trying to kill this program, trying to make sure it stays dead, is akin to Sisyphus rolling a boulder up a hill.
#microsoft edge#web browsers#malware#I'm angry can you tell? I've been dealing with performance issues for months.#gonna murder every microsoft executive in cold blood#i mean i would do that anyways but it's personal now#I genuinely do consider microsoft edge to be malware and see no real reason not to#if anyone knows how to uninstall this evil browser invented by the devil himself please let me know

Police warn new Android malware scam can factory reset phones; over S$10 million lost in first half of 2023
SINGAPORE: The police on Wednesday (Sep 20) issued an advisory about a new variant of Android malware scams, where scammers would initiate a factory reset on infected devices after the malware executes unauthorised transactions on the phone’s i-banking app. There have been more than 750 cases of victims downloading the malware into their phones in the first half of 2023, with losses of at least…
