So one thing that the story does wrong is *know* that Yang will get back into the fight after she's done recovering at Patch. The audience is waiting for her to put the arm on and get to being a protagonist again.

This barely 18 year old just lost her arm and she's been abandoned at home by her sister that is pressing on without her. One thing the story could have focused on is that Yang doesn't have a plan b when it comes to career choice. All we know is that she's only ever wanted to be a huntress.

So what does yang do now? She's a brawler, she can't fight 100 precent like she used to. We never see her adjust. Her only choice is to stay at home and wallow in misery or get back out there with an arm.

There isn't a third choice of staying out of the fight and finding a new career. Her father would be the perfect mirror for her. A physical injury didn't take him out, but a mental one. He stayed out to raise his girls and he became a school teacher.

What could yang do now? She had the added issue of being disabled and the world isn't build for people like her. She's seeing the world in a new light. She actually sees racism when she didn't before because she's seeing how inacceable the world is, how actually unfair a lot of things are.

We as the audience KNOW that yang will get back into the game. But yang doesn't know that. She should have been exploring her strengths outside of her actual strength. Have her do some detective work in Vale, have her decide that she would still be able to fight even *without* her arm and then have it turn up in the mail.

The team does not have distinct skills or traits outside of each other. Weiss is rich??? Blake is a faunus and likes books, Ruby is generic leader, yang is the brawn mother type, but they had every opportunity to make her just as intelligent as Ruby is implied to be.

With how things were in atlas- yes, they didn't have time to do their own thing- but no one was forcing them to go on those missions outside of the Amity project. The plot and story could have tried together by having yang try and track down who was murdering Robyn's supporters.

This could be for two reasons, "Hey we all know ironwood isn't secretly bumping off Robyn supporters but we should actually make a solid attempt to clear his name." And the team acknowledging that Robyn would be a good ally to have if she wasn't so hell bent on hating ironwood.

A tyrian vs yang fight would have been *fun*. it would have changed a lot but we might have learned why Robyn was worth supporting, tyrian backstory that wasn't a freeze frame shot of his wanted poster- and might have given us some bonding time with yang, Blake and Weiss. Acknowledging that tyrian the serial killer who is a faunus destroyed any good will the white fang might have had in Atlas because of his actions.

Yang starting off as "I'm grabbing your balls, give me information" to being incredibly good at seeking information out and putting pieces of a puzzle together would have given her something more to do then be the mother friend- and then turning out to be the kind of mother to dismiss their children's obvious signs of trauma because she's too self absorbed with her new boo.

Anyway my main gripes will forever be "its a slow burn guys that's why it took 10 volumes" and we couldn't slow burn actual character development lmao.

If you could rewrite post v3 Yang what would you add or change? (Excluding any bmblb related stuff)

I've seen some posts about her basically having no goal or purpose especially compared to her teammates, that works during the beacon era imo but yeah afterwards it got boring and wasted her character

Back in 2021 @deb0o @jealouscartoonist and I wanted to design RWBY characters in Genshin. We never finished all the characters we wanted, but I still designs Weiss and Yang. Still love Weiss’s design and would love to do my own take on all the RWBY girls now that we have more nations!

the other day a friend in a discord server linked a twitter thread from somebody who runs a "buff woman of the day" account, expressing utter bafflement because "blonde girl from rwby" was submitted to them and they rightfully point out that she is very obviously not at all buff

And although most of the comments are people who are a) laughing that people consider Stick-Arms Yang to be "buff", b) lamenting that they wish Yang was buff but that Rooster Teeth was too cowardly and pandery to do it, and c) submitting Elm instead as a true buff woman from RWBY.....

there are also an alarming amount of people in the comments claiming that Yang IS buff actually!!! Look at this fanart of her!!! Or look at this (mildly muscular soccer build) official art or DC art!!!! Or actually she is canonically buff (the innocent progressive creators who sadly uwu yearn to make Yang buff but just can't do it, said so) you just can't see it because of budget constraints!!!!

The Bumbleby merch is . . . sold out?

As much as I love the ship didn't we agree not to send funds to RT? While there's evidence that the first 6 episodes were animated in July 2022 in the first v9 trailer (before the October controversy) and thus the kiss itself wasn't pushed to save the company, RT's merch/marketing team is still suspicious as hell. Those people were LOOKING to profit off of the LGBTQ+ community AND IT WORKED.

That same team used Fair Game as a marketing tactic without approval from the creatives, sold ship merch AFTER Clover died. That segment of RT does not — and never will — care about the LGBTQ+ community.

Use the free wallpaper with the T-shirt artwork. Follow the artist's Twitter. Just stop feeding these corporations that do NOT give a fuck about you in real life.

They knew what they were doing with the merch, and they SUCCEEDED.

I'm still very sad that the entire state of RT/CRWBY, being bigoted and overworking their employees, was quickly brushed aside when V9 dropped. Almost everybody forgot the shit the corporation did just because their anime was airing.

Even bigger RWBY channels just brushed it aside. It's truly such a sad state of RWBY when every real person's well-being can be devalued for a cartoon.

I still hadn't forgotten it. RWBY fans should start looking inward to see why ppl outside of the anime do not want to get involved with the show and fanbase.
