I scraped the oc name essay idea so I updated this with the analysis of how Making Fiends character naming works, and one more fact.
It's under the cut so you don't have to dig through the doc to find it-
- In Making Fiends there is a character naming pattern. It has 5 categories:
1. The antagonists have names that have some sorta evil/bad/dark meaning.
a) Vendetta - revenge, blood feud
b) Grudge - a strong feeling of anger and dislike for a person who you feel has treated you badly
c) Rubella - a contagious viral infection best known by its distinctive red rash
2. Charlotte and Charlene/the good guys have names with nice meanings.
a) Charlotte - a pudding made of stewed fruit with a casing or covering of bread, sponge cake, biscuits, or breadcrumbs
b) Charlene - free woman, spirit or thinker
3. Family members have names that begin with the same letters.
a) Vendetta, Viktor, Violetta
b) Charlotte, Charlene
4. Most side characters have names that begin with M.
a) Maggie, Marion, Mort, Marvin, Malachi
b) Mr. Milk, Ms. Minty, Mrs. Millet
However, characters that are an exception to this do appear:
Ms. Helga, Mr. Bank Manager, Mr. Gumpit, Onion Man
5. Fiends are usually named like this:
a) What it looks like/what it does + fiend/s.
Red bird fiend, vegetable fiends, flea fiends, shrinking slug fiend... etc.
b) Some random other thing that Charlotte names them.
Buttons 2, John the Pony
- The school is called Mu Elementary School. Well, it was apparently called Muffin Elementary School before (According to the Making Fiends Fan Wiki) but the sign got damaged as to where it says Mu Element School. I feel like Vendetta thought that the first name was ridiculous so she changed it.
The insanity that you're about to witness are the notes that I took during my Making Fiends rewatch... and with rewatch I mean that I overanalyzed every frame and every line in this piece of media. I wrote down any info that I thought was even remotely or relevant interesting, because I need all of it to be able to write my made up S3 and 4 versions of the show.
All of this info is a mix and match of all of the Making Fiends stuff that is available to us, aka:
The webisodes + the alternative versions of them + the character commentary ones. The Nickelodeon show, the Making Fiends website and the Making Fiends fan wiki.
Why am I showing you this? Because some of these are funny to me and about 70% of this info sounds like I'm just making shit up... to be fair, take some of these with a grain of salt, cuz sometimes I made assumptions about things rather than writing down the obvious.
Anyways, let's get into it, I put it into a Google Doc to make it easier.

I'm kinda curious about the Making Fiends: True Heir AU
Can you give me some info about it
Sure thing!! I haven't worked on it in a while, but it's pretty much an AU that takes place in the TV show version.
Here's a small synopsis of the AU:
Little over a decade has passed and Vendetta is still determined (albeit, more hesitant and soft due to Charlotte's kindness) to try and kill that annoying blue girl, Charlotte. She looks at her fiendish recipe book and finds one she's never heard of before. It's a recipe that allows her to create limitless fiends. As she attempts to perfect this recipe, the fiend mix violently shakes and sloshes around in the cooking bowl, soon jumping at Vendetta, engulfing her body in sticky, melting fiend mix. Once the process is nearing its completion, the fiend mix creates a giant silky, black cacoon in which the fiend mix finalizes its modifications on Vendetta. Soon, Vendetta emerges from the cacoon, now sporting a long, cascading dress with eyes and teeth, and two deer-like horns. Her new form acts like a symbiote that allows Vendetta to create a limitless amount of fiends with her mass. She needs a new name to call her new form, so she calls herself "Venadow", a play on her old name Vendetta, and the Latin word "Venado" which means deer or stag. With this new form, she intends to destroy Charlotte no matter the cost and destroy anyone who stands in her way. Charlene, minding her own business with Charlotte finds out what she's planning with her new fiends and body as demonic-looking fiends scatter throughout Clamburg and attack them both. Wanting to protect Charlotte, Charlene (as well as other Clamburg inhabitants) shall attempt to stop her and remove the symbiote/parasite from Vendetta and truly restore Clambrug to its former glory.

8 Films We Can’t Wait To See at The 2018 Overlook Film Festival
The Overlook Film Festival descends on New Orleans in just a few short days, and this year’s lineup is jam packed with horror films, interactive exhibits and panels. A 4-day celebration of all things horror, this year’s festival begins April 19, 2018 in America’s most haunted city: New Orleans, Louisiana. A city brimming with ancient voodoo and restless spirits, New Orleans is also home to a ghost said to be Stephen King’s inspiration for The Shining‘s Grady Twins. Ghosts aside, The Overlook Film Festival is the most incredible film festival you will ever attend, and you should absolutely make the trip out this year to immerse yourself in a mind-bending weekend full of kickass movies, and kickass people.
The 2018 line-up is full of movies every horror fan is dying to see, including A24’s upcoming Hereditary and Blumhouse’s surprise sequel Unfriended: Dark Web. Also making an appearance are festival favorites Revenge, Tigers Are Not Afraid, and The Ranger which our very own Stephanie Cole called, “a great genre remix that gets to the heart of why horror fans keep coming back for more“. We’re crazy excited to take-in everything Overlook has to offer but here are 8 Movies that may not already be on your radar.
Blood Fest
Director: Owen Egerton Cast: Robbie Kay, Jacob Batalon, Seychelle Gabriel, Tate Donovan, Barbara Dunkelman, Nick Rutherford, Zachary Levi United States, 2018When the most exciting horror festival in the country turns the tables on its zealous fan base by trapping them on the grounds and murdering them en masse, a group of teens armed with the knowledge of a thousand horror movies must fight their way through the bloodbath in this hilarious send-up of horror culture.
St. Agatha

Don’t Leave Home
Director: Michael Tully Cast: Anna Margaret Hollyman, Lalor Roddy, Helena Bereen, David McSavage, Karrie Cox Ireland, 2018 An American artist accepts a strange invitation to a secluded Irish manor to construct an original sculpture for a priestly painter whose work has been shrouded in a sinister urban legend involving the disappearance of an 8-year-old girl in this creepy, offbeat cinematic discovery from indie stalwart Michael Tully (SEPTIEN).
Ghost Stories
Director: Jeremy Dyson & Andy Nyman Cast: Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther, Andy Nyman, Paul Whitehouse United Kingdom, 2017 After stumbling across a long-lost folder of material from his childhood hero, Goodman, a TV investigator known for debumking psychic hoaxes, digs deep into three cases of ghoulish hauntings. Featuring Martin Freeman, this spine-tingling anthology, adapted from the hit stage play, tells enough tales to keep you up for nights to come.
Good Manners
Director: Juliana Rojas & Marco Dutra Cast: Isabél Zuaa, Marjorie Estiano, Miguel Lobo Brazil/France, 2017 A surprising, imaginative and engaging twist on classic genre stories told with a sophisticated cinematic technique, GOOD MANNERS begins unassumingly with a near destitute nurse becoming the caretaker for a wealthy, isolated pregnant woman exhibiting strange behavior. But soon her habits turn into a sleeping hunger that changes both of their lives forever.
Satan’s Slaves

What Keeps You Alive
