CALLING ALL WRITERS, VISUAL ARTISTS, AND CREATORS OF COLOR!

after searching for a POC-centric server for months and coming up empty-handed, i decided to try my hand at creating my own!

these past few months have been very successful, and we’d love to invite more people in to share their own works! all we ask is that you be above the age of eighteen, POC identifying, and open to sharing your passion for creation! with daily writing exercises, questions of the day, and writing prompts, there are plenty of ways for new members to join in! we’re currently at just over 100 members, and we’d love to see our server grow!

the write of way is an international server open to poets & fanfiction authors & visual artists & roleplayers & daydreamers alike. we’re a positive group with no room for negativity or judgement, so please don’t be afraid to share! 

if you are NOT a person of color and would still like to help get the word out, signal boosts and reblogs are always very appreciated!

THE WRITE OF WAY

after searching for a POC-centric server for months and coming up empty-handed, i decided to try my hand at creating my own! the main goal of TWoW is to connect POC writers/storytellers with like-minded individuals. all i ask is that you be above the age of eighteen and be willing and open to share your writing passions!

the write of way is open to poets & fanfiction authors & roleplayers & daydreamers alike. the intention of the server is community and general discussion, but channels are set aside for advertisements for beta readers and roleplay partners as well. join now! a set of rules has been posted, but the gist of these guidelines is that you keep things mature within the server. this is also a work-in-progress, so channels will be added and adjusted as time goes on. photo cred.

DOOMFIST

Doomfist is Nigerian and before you guys go crazy I just want to say a few things. - There’s A LOT of tribes in Nigeria so just doing a small google search about Nigerian traditions, etc. will not be very fruitful. According to my wonderful mom, Akande is Yoruba (a tribe in west nigeria). - For all you writers out there the language has the same name. Yoruba. Nigerian tribes as have completely different languages. (For example, I can understand Edo which is another tribe. If you try to talk to me in Yoruba I will have no idea what you are saying.)  - Let’s try not to slap a bunch of western stereotypes on him? Nigerians (and Africans in general) don’t talk like savages. His grammar should be completely correct, especially since he comes from a wealthy family. Don’t try and bring random animals into his life. (Ex. He fought a lion with his bare hands or something stupid.) - Africa is not on another planet. Please don’t act like he’s alien to technology, or western things. He obviously knows what a smart phone and social media is. - LAST THING: He’s being characterised as smart and charismatic! Don’t make him into a brainless, hothead who like punching things. Thankssssss!
