2DK, G-pen, Alarm Clock by Ohsawa Yayoi office lady x mangaka omg they were roommates slowburn - the main couple's great and all, but some really interesting side characters elevate the series IMO

Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon by Usui Shio Dynasty Scans | Amazon ace/aro rep let's go! The main characters figuring things out together is super sweet and well portrayed.

The idea of Goto being a giant plant mom is so cute alskdjf thank you very much for that mental image 😂 I bet he would absolutely go ham for any little desktop sized plants, like I can very easily imagine his/his girlfriend's apartment just being COVERED in them ahahahaha 😂

Since you wanted some asks about ships: what are your thoughts on itafushi and nobamaki?

this is just my personal experience, but as the story unfolded, I unfortunately lost interest in the main trio, even though yuuji was one of my absolute faves at some point (and yes, this has a lot to do with their individual conclusions). consequently, I don’t care about the ships that involve them as much as before.

however, itafushi was actually the first thing I shipped. I mean it's the obvious choice to go, they are the main duo after all and their story is an integral part of the plot. they initially reminded me of sns, but weren’t as one-sided or codependent as the former. I still like how one act of kindness from each has dooming consequences for the other as well as themselves. you can really tell, that this was the core of the story for Gege all along bc the writing up until shinjuku showdown is amazing. but just like with satosugu, I feel like their portrayal can get a bit tropey bc fandom doesn’t handle yuuji’s character well. you know that I've talked about its tendency to ignore certain characteristics of yuuji's personality before (controversial take, apparently :D). btw, I've seen a few fandom creators admit that they never read the manga or didn't even finish the anime. which is fine i guess. i mean you don't have to read the whole story to be creative with the characters, after all. however, with big creators especially, you can tell that their followers have a hard time to distinguish what's canon and what's fanon after a while. it's not the worst thing, of course, but can get a bit frustrating, when these fans start to aggressively defend their fanon version of the characters lol.

as for nobamaki, I have to admit, I never was that much of a fan to begin with. it’s always been pretty one-sided imo. I mean of course, they’re friends but maki never treated her in a special way, you know? I dont think there were ever romantic undertones on her part and tbh, megumi seems to be her favorite junior (i mean duh, they’ve known each other for the longest time).

on the other hand, I always found nobamai's dynamic more intriguing (i guess i just strive for chaos and mess 😆). anyway, nobara values female connections the most, thus I think she would have had a great time at kyoto since gege already confirmed she and the kyoto girls would have been all friends, if they’d gone to the same school (i think her and mai would still bicker a lot, while everyone else would just assume that they’re secretly dating).

Fushiita

This probably isn't surprising at all, but I love Fushiita!!! Something about stoic guys melting and being affectionate with bright, kind, mischievous boyfriends just tickles me yk

2. Nobamaki

A strong upperclassman who watches her cheeky, abrasive underclassman with fondness and interest-- there's more to their relationship that I like of course, their connection as 'the girls' that draws them closer, Nobara's instant respect and softness in regards to Maki, and how protective she becomes of her at the exchange event. I like to think Maki is protective towards her in a different but no less meaningful way. Protectiveness is one of my favourite tropes-- ik it's cheesy but it is!!!

3. Chosoyuki

Now, these two man... These two... I just love how she's so confident and outspoken, and how she saw Choso and went 'yeah. That one.' -- I loved their little date, even if he cried ((LOVE a good pathetic man)), and how she made him think differently about himself and his situation.

4. Satosugu

The soulmatery of these 2... The homosexuality of these 2..... They're unmated. A real Sasunaru descendant.

5. InuIta

I wasn't that into them, to be honest, but my friends and I quote that 'Inumaki-senpai! Shake!' scene in s2 all of the time. Eventually, I started to think of them as kind of cute, and then I tried writing them and found Inumaki is a really fun character to write! I love his mischievousness and dedication to protecting his friends (relegated to a life of speaking solely in onigiri ingredients... nah that's probably one of the perks for him).

JJK BrOTP

It's GOTTA be Nobara and Yuuji. The friendship between these two is awesome, I love how she started out thinking of him as an idiot, and then got to know him and realised that yeah he's an idiot, but he's also a little bit fun to have around sometimes. Nah jk, I love how they're 2 peas in a pod, both crazy, both from the countryside, both just as silly as each other. I really love watching them hang out in the few eps we get of that, and the juju strolls they're both in-- they're just awesome!

Top 5 In Any Media (Excluding JJK)

I had to consult my ao3 bookmarks AND pinterest for this. There are a bunch there of ships I don't read anymore but keep 'for the memories' and some ships I am ashamed of! So I didn't include those hehe.

I'll only put 1 per fandom to keep things fair! Cause there is 1 particular fandom where... My ships will fill up all 7 of the spots...

Also, no particular order! Some of these go up and down based on the day, scenario, fic, art, and heaps more factors!

Liutana My first ship! (Excluding my total drama island childhood... gwen x trent u will always be famous. I don't condone s2) I loved them so much, when MK1 came out and I heard about the kiss??? I damn near cried.

Zolu 1 thing about Zolu is that from the first ep I've shipped them 100%. Every episode that they're in is a fun episode to watch, their dynamic is so SDJHVFSBJNE and I really enjoy it! But also... Any time someone appreciates Luffy I kinda... Side-eye a little...... I'm a bit disloyal in that sense...........

Sasunaru Gaanaru is constantly fighting for this spot tho... I am disloyal. I like nejinaru, shikanaru, hinanaru, sainaru, I even wrote an allnaru fic back in the day. It never saw the light of day but man... Also Shikatema is peak love those 2.

Kagehina Height difference, moody x cheerful, sunrise x shadow mountain-- names with symbolism but also it's the sunrise that puts the shadow on the mountain and I say all that^^ but the second Atsumu appeared on screen...... IM A DISLOYAL PERSON!!! And the reunion?? "Tobio-chan!! Don't talk to my spiker like that :)" WHEN I TELL YOU I ALMOST CHOKED ON MY SCREAM...

Togachako/Ochatoga Just getting back into bnha and man.. these 2 GRABBED ME... Allmomo is FANTASTIC too btw-- and I do mean all girls x Momo but I suppose Kaminari can stay, as Jirou's boyfriend.. and Kurotoko (is that still their ship name?!), Fumirumi, Bakukiri let me stop myself before I erupt,

Obamitsu THEM <33 I'm a bigger, 'stronger' (I'm not as strong as her she's something else) girl too so Mitsuri and this ship is just everything to me... Also love Gentan and Muitan!

Favorite Character:

Just one? Okay, Gon but the more honest answer would be: Gon, Killua and Canary

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene:

Arc would be Greed Island because it's a breather but also really digs into the relationship between Gon and Killua. Episode is really hard to choose but I guess the second Whale Island episode, it's just so precious. Scene is even harder... But let's say it's the scene when Gon is trying to pass by Canary, and the baby Canary and Killua moment. It always gets to me.

Character I Think is Underrated:

Obviously Canary, but there's also so little of her, I get why people don't get attached. For a character with slightly more page time, probably Melody. Her whole back story is really good and I really hope the current arc will dig more into her.

Character I Think is Overrated:

Kurapika and Chrollo. The former is too by the trope, the latter feels so fake, same vibes like these people who in secondary school thought that listening to obscure music makes them intellectuals.

Favorite Ship/Pairing:

KilluGon, I'm basic, but their dynamic is so intense.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie:

Most things I love aren't really specific to the anime, because they are in the manga. But when it comes to the show specifically, it's the montage of Gon and Killua being kids in the Trick Tower time out room.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Favorite Character:

Yuuji, no contest.

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene:

Arc it will be Vs. Mahito Arc, it really digs deep into Yuuji, into his personality but also really hints to the nature of his powers. It shows what the story is capable of.

Character I Think is Underrated:

Yorozu, feral queen, very clearly a commentary on the fandom, I identify so much. Also Uro, people tend to remember Yuuta's shitty behaviour towards her (and not think it's shitty) instead of her. And Hana, the ways the fandom treats Hana is awful.

Character I Think is Overrated:

Just one? Nah, sorry, I'm bitter. Gojou, Getou, Yuuta, Megumi, Kusakabe, Inumaki, Touji...

Favorite Ship/Pairing:

SukuIta, it's got the best writers and the least percentage of Yuuji character assassination/neglect that I've seen among the Yuuji ships. Also it's very intense.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie:

I'd like to say nothing, because I honestly think that the anime really cheapens a lot of stuff from the manga, but at least season 1 gives us the tiny slice of life tidbits that are, in most cases, lacking from the manga in the form of the the Juju Sanpos, and I really cherish those. Season 2 has no redeeming qualities, for the most part it's a music video.

are you aware that in the official v3 artbook Momota’s blushing sprite is labeled as a direct quote he said to Maki one time? I was flipping through it and noticed that and was wondering if anyone ever even picked up on it. cause it just saved my life. it’s a very obscure quote and definitely not something he said to anyone else so an intentional reference. it’s hidden behind some random cutscene in game lmao

I saw your earlier post about how he didn’t have time to sort through his own feelings and in my mind he was pining over her and just never fully realized that lol. whoever put that in the artbook supports the vision

Regarding how Momota feels about Maki, I have a Lot of thoughts. The main text makes it ambiguous because whether or not he reciprocated isn't really The Point of the confession.

But I personally believe he did pine for her too, he just didn't realize it because he was preoccupied with trying not to die to an illness and getting out of the killing game.

Another point is while he's incredibly emotionally intelligent, he has a pretty big blindspot in regards to himself. And as much as he brags, I also feel kaito thinks maki deserves better than him, that there's no way she'd be interested in a guy like him.

There's more that I could go into, but basically I agree with you anon! I'm just the type of person who likes to compare and contrast the main text with my own interpretation and all that.

Ahahahaha that's a good catch! That's very deliberate; it's one of my little details of Kaito and Maki can be inverses of each other, with Maki's default response being to smile while Kaito is a much more frowny boy 😂

I agree, there’s no way someone as powerful as Maki is down from a single hit, not after everything she’s been though, and if she actually is out of commission then I’ll be extremely disappointed in Gege’s writing.

I’m still upset about the wasted potential of Yuki and if he wastes Maki’s potential as well then I’m gonna go feral.
