Did this the other day and hadn't gotten to posting about it. About two years ago I built my new workbench, and installed a vice (original post under the break), then never went back and made a handle. Instead I was using whatever scrap I could find at the time. Now I have a nice handle!

The fun part is it's another piece built from wood off my land.

As cameras becomes more normalized (Sarah Bernhardt encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use cameras because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by manufacturing companies. I paint not because I want a painting but because I love the process of painting. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

quick rant but it bugs me SOO much how there's so much character ai (or ai in general) content for the outsiders & more is made practically everyday (I see tumblr posts and tiktoks promoting them)

lucanis truly has a near terminal case of burned out golden child syndrome. caterina fucked both of these kids over so incredibly bad with the dynamic she enforced there, with illario being labled the perpetual fuckup kid where lucanis 'could do no (would never be allowed to do) wrong'. the way he admits in the first coffee date scene that the only thing that happened when he showed he could carry the weight of expectation was that more weight was added makes me so sad. you can hear it in caterina's voice in his intro mission that she's incredibly proud of him, but this is clearly a leandra and hawke situation where that pride never translates into relief or resolution or unconditional warmth or understanding or anything that really helps.

As an Izuocha shipper, I don’t understand homophobic Izuocha shippers. I feel like those people have a thorough misunderstanding of their characters.

I feel like they’re the same ones who were saying that the Savior Trio trying to reason and humanize their villains was ‘stupid’— and that they should’ve just killed them.

The point of humanizing their villains isn’t so the readers have sympathy towards Himiko, Touya and Tenko, but to inspire EMPATHY in the world. It’s to understand them as both the villains and victims they were, so they can see their whole self. Part of why the LOV became villains was due to discrimination.

The ‘Saving Villains’ thing has been foreshadowed since chapter 1 when Izuku rushed in to save Katsuki from the Sludge Villain. Izuku is selfless; he’s someone who will aid other people, even when they hurt him and aren’t asking to be saved, he’ll save them. He’s the hero who’ll save everyone.

Ochako has always had deep empathy and kindness ever since she was a baby. She saw her parents struggling— and decided to help them. Ochako decided to become a rescue hero of all things to earn money; a dangerous job, and the type of hero closest to people in need, because she genuinely wants to help people.

Izuku becoming a UA teacher allows him to guide future generations to be kind and empathetic heroes. The kinda that will reach out a hand to people like Tenko, and the ones society leaves behind.

Ochako establishing a counseling program helps give children an outlet to use their quirks, and to promote positivity for mental health and therapy. It helps people like Himiko, who were rejected and suppressed their needs.

Through connecting to one another, they understood why Himiko and Tenko became villains. Izuku and Ochako try to address the root causes of the problems— so less heroes are needed because less people need to be saved.

Saving their villains doesn’t mean they absolve them of their actions, some crimes cannot be redeemed— however, a hero should always strive to deliver justice; not just for the victims of the villain, but also the injustice that the villain faced as a victim.

Trying to empathize with people who became villains helps save other people like Tenko and Himiko before they get hurt and hurt others.

Part of the Izuocha dynamic and their individual characters is that they’re selfless people who would help anyone who needs it. They’re united in this goal of blind justice and building bright futures.

…So I’m wondering, of all the male x female ships that the fake fans cling to— WHY IZUOCHA??? The ship where one of its core themes is extending kindness towards people you don’t understand or necessarily agree with; isn’t that like the OPPOSITE of DISCRIMINATION?!?!💀

Anyway, on a totally unrelated note…

I’ve been thinking of doing gender swapped Izuku & Ochako designs— so I can draw lesbian izuocha and gay Izuocha.

Definitely not out of spite hahahaha….

I completed my mallet from the other day, got it glued up a couple days back and then turned the handle this afternoon. It ended up being a bit bigger than it really has any reason to be. I'll likely end up making a smaller version sometime in the future

It's a hard maple head with an oak handle.

Decided to put a single coat of shellac on, it really makes the grain stand out.

Grace's Performance Mod Recommendation List

I recommend reading descriptions for all mods downloaded to understand what they do in order to resolve any bugs that may arise. QblrSMP utilizes every mod listed here. Most of the trick to making performance mods work so well is that I manually edit a lot of config settings to gear them more toward how the given server is played.

I have a few takes that I don’t think anyone is ready for but it needs to be said because this fandom is honestly a hivemind who can’t take opinions different from the “accepted” opinions.

• Hatred of jonelias is rooted in homophobia. “It’s sexualisation!” why do you think 2 men dating is inherently sexual? 🤨 You guys treat jonelias as worse than murder, I swear. Just block tags if it makes you uncomfortable.

• It’s not lesphobic or misogynistic to prefer jmart. THEY ARE THE MAIN CHARACTERS. People are naturally going to prefer the main characters. I’m saying this as a lesbian, seriously guys calm tf down. I’m taking away “lesphobia” until we learn what it actually is.

• Daisy and Melanie (and Basira?) are not the “mean lesbian” stereotype. They’re not even canonically lesbians. Yes they’re implied to be sapphic but nowhere in the source material does it say they’re lesbians. They could be bi for all we know.

• Jonny Sims said in a stream that Jon isn’t canonically sex repulsed, nor is he canonically not sex repulsed. He’s whatever you want him to be. If sexualising Jon makes you uncomfortable, once again just block tags. It’s really not that hard. (I’m asexual btw.)
