…ok but I don’t need to watch it to know the fact that Ian Ousley, Sokka’s actor, claims to be part of a fake tribe with ties to white supremacy. or are we all just ignoring that now?

WHAT WILL YOUR FANS THINK OF YOU?
This is a general reading based on a collective of people. Take what resonates and leave what doesn’t. If you don’t feel the pile resonates with you, don’t be scared to try another, if it still doesn’t feel right, that’s ok! Maybe our energies aren’t as connected and my readings are not for you.
I do these strictly for fun and educational purposes. I do not charge for these readings, and I do not fake readings. I would tell you the cards I get for the readings, but I pull like 15-20 cards each reading and that is just slightly a strenuous task to write them all down lmao.
PICK A CARD TAROT READING
I asked my spirit guides what your fans would think of you if/when you become famous, pick a picture to find out what they have to say!
Pile 1 ———> Pile 2 ———> Pile 3
PILE 1
They’ll think you have a very good work ethic, and that you a perfect balance between what you show online and what you hide behind the scenes. They’ll respect you for showing your struggles and helping them stay motivated, you could teach them some valuable lessons, directly or not, it’ll stick with them for years. They may think that you’re a bit impulsive and quick to act on things. You could get into a fair amount of public disputes which stresses them out since they have to be there to defend you. Their may be some times that they see you as someone they want to become, however it seems they believe your life is so far out of their reach. They definitely gossip about you a lot on social media, to their friends or family, heavy energy of telling all third parties about you, whether they wish to hear it or not. They view you as someone who has everything, and they may sometimes think you are a tad ungrateful, that’s only for those of you who won’t share your personal struggles online, they’ll just be a few lines blurred between truths and their interpretations about you. The reason they feel all of this is because they see you working really hard to appease to your audience, and sometimes they may think you stress out about their perception about you, not knowing that they plan on sticking around for as long as you let them.
PILE 2
For a lot of you, you’re in an industry where your personal struggles are seen, whether you right music or books about your trauma, or you talk on a podcast which expresses your truest emotions, some of them pity you; not in a patronising way, rather a way or recognising everything that you were unfortunate enough to live through, and they respect your perseverance for it. They may have noticed that you popped up spontaneously, some of you could even be an industry plant and they’re confused about where you came from lmao. I see that they may gatekeep you for a while, making fun of anyone who didn’t know you before your most viral content/project came out and everyone started to recognise you as a creator or artist, you may need to control this to make sure it doesn’t spiral out of control and get toxic. They see you as someone they look up to and feel mentally, emotionally and spiritually in touch with, someone who understands them on deeper levels that no one else ever has, you’re their home. Your fans feel like you’ve lived many lives and you know the world like the back or your hand; they look up to you for advice and ideas, they trust your judgement more than anything, they do have the tendency to follow you blind. For some of you, they may struggle or flat out refuse to hold you accountable for your actions if you make a mistake, so make sure to remind them that you are human and they should call you out if you slip up. Super defensive over you, they will attack anyone who slanders your name - again, this can be good, however just ensure it doesn’t spiral out of control.
PILE 3
Well my pile 3, they feel a lot. Firstly, a large amount of them are parasocial, very sorry, just got to give that to you. You could be known for your appearance or something along those lines, and they are very, very attracted to you, which leads them to being a tad too parasocial here. I see they would defend you with sticks and stones if you gave them the chance, there is nothing to stop them from sticking up for you against those pesky trolls. They’re also keyboard warriors, so you may wanna ensure your fandom are not blabbing their mouths about other fandoms, just for the sake of keeping everything comfortable and healthy. Some of you, if not most could post vlogs or TikToks that resemble a FaceTime call, and this could make them feel attached to you and as if you are their friend. They respect your work a lot, they may constantly beg for you to release more of what you do, they’re waiting on their hands and knees for your next drop. They are making you a shit ton of money, rewatching all your videos a million times, going to all your concerts, travelling the world to be at your meet and greets. They’re very obsessive, so you may wanna back down a little on how much personal stuff you post. You could also be a streamer, and that’s making them feel more connected as they get to see the uncut 1-5 hours of your life, again feeding their parasocial desire. They have a name for themself that they go by, and a fair amount of them may call you a parental name “mother,” “father,” “parent.”

Fontaine has an interesting theme about social media and influencers. When you first arrive, you come across some people talking about a real court case as if it's a play, reveling in the dramatics of it instead of treating it as a real court case with real consequences. Social media has started to blur what is serious with entertainment- people's private or embarrasing moments are put on blast on youtube or tiktok or wherever so someone can laugh or feel sad for five seconds. People judging someone's entire personality and telling people what they should do in a situation based on one story they weren't even there for (ex. reddit, especially AITA but plenty of other places), "mommy bloggers" using their children as content. The courthouse is also the opera house, and with all the drama in the several court cases we've been in, it seems that the real winner (at least to the audience) is making your point in the most dramatic way possible rather than actually being innocent of the crime. This is often how internet drama plays out- whoever makes the first accusation and/or the most wild one is the "winner", in terms of attention. We try and present evidence in ways that will sway the audience's reaction, and the scales literally tip one way or another based on reactions. Furina is a major influencer on this topic. She is often in the courthouse, and well known to take an interest in the cases. When we arrive, she immediately shows up dramatically to accuse us of a made up crime, attempting to create another trial for her to take part in to use for the drama. Lyney gets us out of it, but it immediately sets up her character for the rest of the story.
The 4.2 archon quest has the segment where we see where Furina first came to be. She is told she must play the part of an archon, no matter what. No one can know she isn't, she must live up to everyone's expectations of an archon. She then introduces herself to a crowd, slightly nervous, trying to be herself. The crowd jeers, saying something similar to "THIS is an archon?" She then tries again, putting on a more confident and decisive front, saying, "see? that was just a test! I, the archon, am glad you didn't fall for it." She tries to be herself, but the expectations and jeers from the public encourage her to put on a false front to fit their idea of an archon.
I have watched this happen many, many times to people i have followed- whether bloggers, youtubers, streamers, etc; they often start off a bit rough around the edges, but genuine and enthusiastic, and then they get more popular and cater what they make to whatever trends are in right now, with more sponsors, less niche content, more polished and more similar to every other creator.
Furina seems a great example of how the expectations of social media/ the public's judgement of how you should be will end up pushing people into playing a part that burns you out and makes you feel hollow.

Hey, I stumbled across your last post addressing the toh blog critiquing fans of belos and how they engage with the show and i'd like to put my 2 cents in as an au creator who has belos featured in my aus.
When I made arofam, I was just goofing around, it was before s2 officially aired and I thought at work one day "oh, belos and this gg kid look like parallels to luz and eda, wouldn't an au swapping them be funny?". I made that au based solely on that, and everything after that was straight up just me trying to work around everything the show was throwing at me and try and adapt it in the au. It became more emotional with time, but it wasn't built on a foundation of trying to make his canon self less bad nor excuse anything he did. (Undoubtedly that goofy au just made me more invested in those characters over time).
Like we didn't even know belos's plans, his abuse of the ggs, his brother, nothing, when I made the au. The show really had to make me work to make belos likable in my au after that.
I say this because it's why it's wrong to always make assumptions about ppl based on what they create or are engaged in. You don't have to like the content yourself, but there's a variety of reasons ppl make aus with philip in a prominent role. Some wanna explore him in unique ways that canon can't, some are intrigued by his backstory and wanna play with that, and some are like me who just woke up one day and thought " Ok, but what if we did a silly with him?".
It would be wrong to categorize everyone into one box, with the same ideals and same opinions. Not everyone will have the same draws but assuming the worst of a fan who likes to play with the main antagonist in noncanon work or personally have different opinions on his execution in the show is extremely judgemental and hurtful because a lot of these fans are just having fun and have very little malicious intent.
If you have criticism of the work and wanna kindly address it to the creator, then sure, they might be allowed to give their opinions on where they were coming from while they're at it in case the work was misinterpreted.
But you can genuinely hurt ppl and creators by throwing them under a " bad person" label without allowing yourself to understand them or their work and why they made the choices they did.
I guess the point I'm making here is, fans engage with the media they like for a number of reasons, if you're going to make accusations on them, at least have clear solid reasons rather then basing it on pure assumptions based on work that might not even really be that deep in the first place or even just the comments of a few fans.
If they're being purposely malicious and awful then sure.
But sometimes it's really not that deep, some ppl just wake up one day and wanna imagine a swap au with belos or wanted a cooler death.
People shouldn't be crucified online for that.
100% agree with you there! I've stated before that this fandom has a tendency to connect a person's morality to the type of media they consume or how they engage with it. It's really unsettling, tbh.
You don't like AUs that redeem Belos? Or make him a goofy uncle? Or make Caleb the evil emperor?
Then don't read them. You're not the target audience.
In other words...
I hope any and all creators with a Belos AU aren't discouraged because some ninny on the net, who thinks they're the arbiter of social justice, got mad because they decided to have fun with a fictional character.
Fandom is not activism.
Just chill and let people put the old man in a dress.

Can you link the Scotty and Daniel thought piece? I’m just curious because people don’t seem to know how adult friendships work.
Hi Anonstie!
I saw it on tik tok like yesterday so I don’t think I can go back and find it lol. But the creator was basically saying how she thought it was weird that Daniel had never been to one of Scotty’s events and how if that was her she doesn’t think she could be friends with him.
Ya know everyone is entitled to their own option but it was the people in the comments that clearly have a Daniel hater boner. They were saying that it made him (daniel) a bad friend and people were bashing him and calling him an asshole. That he went to Montana (with Scotty btw?) and that the cold is not a good enough excuse. The of creator was also liking some of these comments and agreeing with them?
Like all of that is weird to me 😭 like we don’t know these guys are the dynamics of their friendship but we’re over here making judgement based on what they show us or something we heard on a podcast??
People in the comments were also mad that Scotty went on the podcast and was shit talking Daniel and Lance. Which I don’t think he was? Idk I didn’t listen tbh.
#also Daniel doesn’t need me to defend him so don’t take this as I’m defending him lol#I just think it’s weird when people think they know the drivers and what their friendships are like#like they all put on a persona for the public and play their role#what happens in their lives is probobly so different then what they show us#just my opinion I suppose#is this gonna cause discourse?#idk but I’ll tag it just in case#f1 discourse#daniel ricciardo#scotty james#anonymous#asks

hey tumblr! hot tip!!! if you see people criticizing your fav actor/creator/celeb etc for a lack of support for Palestine and want to get big mad abt it:
ask yourself, deeply and truly, why this makes you angry. really. why does that make you angry? look in the mirror and ask yourself why.
Don't pull out the following terms: "keyboard warrior", "what have YOU done lately besides be high and mighty on the internet?", "double standards", "this is The Internet(tm) Of Course Words Matter More Than Actions", etc. because uh
NEWSFLASH DIP SHITS
THE PERSON YOU ARE TALKING TO MAY HAVE
JUST POSSIBLY
DONE THINGS FOR THE MOVEMENT THAT COULD GET THEM IN LEGAL TROUBLE IF ADMITTED
HELD OFF POLICE AT COLLEGE ENCAMPMENTS
STAYED OUT ALL NIGHT TO HOLD SPACE
GONE WITHOUT FOOD SO THEY COULD AFFORD TO DONATE
GONE WITHOUT CHORES/OTHER NECCESARY TASKS TO MAKE TIME FOR PROTESTS
*SEEN THEIR FRIENDS DRAGGED AWAY BY RIOT POLICE*
*WITHIN THE PAST TWO WEEKS*
WAITED FOR THEIR FRIENDS TO GET BACK FROM FUCKING JAIL
AND STILL KEPT SHOWING UP.
UNTIL THEY WORKED THEMSELVES TO ILLNESS.
you dont know who I am. you don't know what I'm doing. at the same goes for anyone and everyone on this site. sure, maybe they're the soyjak sjw you're picturing, marinating in sweat and dorito crumbs while they sip boba surrounded by plushies and obscure pride flags, wallowing in self-centered hypocrisy
or maybe they're not. maybe they shaved all their hair off because they had too much on-camera recognition and feared being followed home by cops, like had happened to their peers.
maybe they've been manhandled and shoved by security and police recently.
maybe they're endangering the scholarships that are their only reason to live rather than stay silent on their college's ties to the military-industrial complex.
maybe they lie to their parents and family friends and ANY older friends about where they are in the evening because they know that the truth could destroy those relationships
maybe they're Jewish and struggling to understand how their community can be so unable to see the reality of the situation
I'm not saying I'm doing The Most Ever, or even that I'm doing a lot. I'm not, not by my community's standards, not in comparison to my friends and peers, and especially not currently as im dealing with finals. I'm just showing up and doing what I can, even though it isnt much.
and I'm not going to assume that anyone saying this bs ALSO isnt doing anything for the movement
maybe you are! if so, thats great!
but fucking think before you speak because you have literally no idea who you're talking to or what their life is like. even if you're doing The Most Bestest Possible Ever for the movement rn, online and off 24/7
you have no right to pass judgement based on what you ASSUME about a stranger.
you have no right and no reason to think that anyone who "complains" online is thus inactive irl, in fact that makes literally no sense.
if you're really about genuine activism and radical action and support of this movement. why are you being a dick to people for speaking out?
and if you're not. if you just think that we're a bunch of whiny hypocrites looking for a reason to get on your high horse....
then man you are just a waste of life im sry idk what to tell u. get off tumblr, do some research, change yourself. "get better soon bestie" or something idk i dont even have words for that kinda brainlessness.
I'm just saying, I don't think the cops, or the president of my university, or the security and event staff at (REDACTED) would call me a "keyboard warrior" lmaoooooo
#free palestine#keyboard warriors#sjw#palestine#gaza#israel#tumblr culture#hellsite#tumblrcore#tw vent#tw rant#im PISSED rn im sry#i dont come on My Comfort Site to be called a keyboard warrior.

I’ve honestly been thinking about how to reconcile actually seeing problems with CR content policy and all that stuff with those people being close friends and collaborators with people from D20.
( Especially that I do consider myself the CR fan, I like watch the streams which feels a bit hypocrytical but I giess I could have worse hyperfixations lol; to clarify I am also a D20 fan and been before even I have started watching CR)
Obviously I am of the opinion that glamourizing and putting creators and artists of any content we like is dangerous (and seeing them as our allies or friends in some capacity) - and we as fans don’t really know those people and shouldn’t base our moral judgement as ours.
But like I still wonder, how do people like Brennan think of CR and their policy, especially considering Brennan frequently praised Matt not just as a creator but as a person
I am curious on your thoughts, not trying to start any discourse here, just thinking
great questions! I want to start off by saying that I really don't care to speculate what brennan's opinion on the policies are: firstly because I don't parasocialize people like that, and secondly because he would not be in charge of any content policies for dimension 20 even if he felt some sort of way about it. I think if you want to reconcile liking CR while having issues its content policy, we need to look at what the issues are first.
as much as I've dunked on CR's content policy, it is nothing unusual for shows to want to protect their own IP. the terms of copyright in there are pretty standard for any form of media (even if I think it's pretty ironic that critical role is itself derivative of another franchise). the only reason dimension 20 doesn't have anything similar is because they're not at the point where it's profitable for people to sell knockoff merch or make knockoff mobile games using their characters yet. I think you need to prepare yourself for dimension 20 eventually reaching that level of success too.
dimension 20 from the start has and always WILL market itself much more as a product than critical role. it explicitly is one of the few things that kept dropout going through the bankruptcy of collegehumor as a parent company, it treats its audience like paying customers and respects audience feedback accordingly, and that's fine! I like that about it! it means that we get sensitivity consultants and production value, because we are customers paying for a product and there are now standards on how that product is delivered.
so yes, I do think dimension 20 will, at some point, implement their own content policy. they already have copyright over their works and properties, even if it's not stated anywhere on site. I have asked about the validity of fanworks before, and gotten this as a response:
For copyright protection reasons we are obligated to protect our IP in instances where we see it being monetized / exploited (the legal meaning) by non-official sources, and sanctioning monetized fanworks in an official sense could create a situation where our copyright becomes compromised on a legal level (without that sanctioning being a long legalese-ful document filled with caveats).
so we're at the same place that critical role fans were five years ago - it's not technically sanctioned, but dimension 20 has been turning a blind eye and even supporting some of the charity endeavours that involve the use of their IP. what remains to be seen is what happens when D20 eventually does put a content policy of their own in place, and which types of fan content will be restricted.
my issue with critical role's content policy is and always will be how they choose to reinforce it, and the way CR itself still markets itself as a small game between friends and refuses to acknowledge how corporate it has become. they may not be explicitly allowed in their policy, but imo they should only come into play when there's actual scammers using copyrighted logos or copyrighted images to sell products.
a content policy for CR was inevitable. there will be one in the future for dimension 20 too. but there is no reason that CR should have been striking down charity projects and fanzine productions, from members of their own community and official artists no less. I can only hope dimension 20 will not go down the same route in the future.
#asks#anon#long post#hope this helps! I tried to give as thorough of a response irt how I actually feel about cr and d20 as possible#dimension 20#and also do not ever treat any of the people in ttrpg spheres as “good guys” or “bad guys”... they are honestly all just people#and will disappoint you if you start ascribing moral values to their actions because they are people. working in an industry

About time I made a proper pinned post
HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS THAT IS THE INNER MACHINATIONS OF MY MIND!!!
My name is PawsomeToons! (I also go by Pawsome, Paw, Toons, and Circus!)
I'm an anxious 19 year old with autism and probably ADHD (I am undiagnosed but I am 99% sure I have ADHD)
I am genderfluid and go by any pronouns so go off!
I am a sex repulsed asexual, so please do not make suggestive jokes about my posts and please try to keep NSFW topics far away from me.
My current 3 ☆Big Bad Brainrots☆
☆NiGHTS Into Dreams☆
♡Balan Wonderworld♡
◇Gregory Horror Show◇ - (Mainly ♥︎Judgement Boy$)
More about Me!!
I can be pretty easy to become friends with so if you ever wanna talk to me, please don't be afraid to!!
I'm a total cringe ass nae nae baby. I'm not afraid to say it loll. I have so many original and fandom based ocs, I've lost count of em all.
I am a multifandom FREAK! I'm in a whole lot more fandoms than just my 3 Big Bad Brainrots. Those can be found in my blog bio!
I am OBSESSED with crossovers!!! I adore them so much, that I've been in a huge crossover rp with some good long time friends so fine that's been going on for nearly 7 years now called Overrift!!
What is OVERRIFT?
Overrift is a crossover rp me and my friends have been doing for nearly 7 years and ongoing!
The creator of Overrift is @callie-star ! Along with me are @kazoonoot , @man-of-fandoms , and a few others who frequent in this rp! (It is currently heavily private due to past conflicts but I still post stuff about it just to give others a taste of it from my side of the story!)
Please check out @callie-star 's blog, for she is the creator of Overrift and deserves an awful lot of the credit here!
Overrift is an rp with it's main base on logic being Undertale. Which means it has a huge focus on souls, Level Of ViolencE, and narration.
Overrift takes place on an island hidden in between realities, making itself invisible to the rest of the world. This island is called Hyden. The crossover element of this rp comes from the mysterious rifts that will appear in other universes and drag poor souls new people onto the island! Though it's a mixed opinion of those on the island of whether or not this is a good thing on ther part. Some had families or entire whole worlds they'd have to go back to. Some having nothing to go back to and are better off in Hyden.
However, some places from other universes have come with some of these individuals, or even entire civilizations! Such as Inkopolis Square and Plaza which make up Inkopolis City, along with the Splatlands. Another example would be Mobius (aswell as its nearby sister planet, Suarlus [Suarlus is a fan made StH planet I made])! Which doesnt become part of this Earth but appears close enough to it to be part of the universe.
Though, some will say this place is literal hell. That being because of the constant danger that arrives in Hyden. This being most of the time because of the fault of others. But everything turns out okay in the end!... Right?...
Annnd that should be all!
☆See you at the show!!!♡

JUSTICE FOR MEN.
If a man often ask his wife for sex, she will say he's asking for too much. She'll say to him..
"Are you a dog?
"You won't allow me sleep in peace" "Always disturbing my sleep"
"Are you not tired, me am tired"
"I don't have strength"
"I'm not in the mood"
"Leave me alone"
Sometimes, she'll use mood swings and menstrual cramps to excuse the man. Or even use stress from work or house chores to deny the man his cravings.
Depending on the type of man you're and the type of woman you have as wife, it's either you give in and buy her excuses, or you persist in asking, pleading and begging maybe she's actually doing their normal shakara. If you try harder shaa, she might give in and give it to you wotowoto. That's someone that don't have strength oo. But if na man you marry in woman shape, you beg she no gree, you beg tire, she no gree. Come tell you say, she no dey gree for anybody. My brother hope no dey for you.
However, if after giving these excuses over and over again, the man gets tired and exhausted from begging while being starved sex and romance. What becomes of him?
If the man decides to stay away from sexual desires from his sex-denying wife. Maybe for sometime, decide to be celibate or even sought for external options to satisfy his cravings, as he couldn't get it from inside his own bed room.
Immediately, the woman and the society will change the whole story that started from the man's bedroom. You'll begin to hear statements like ...
He's a beast.
A cheat.
Polygamist
Womanizer
He's promiscuous
Lack self control
His high libido is too much
People will begin to judge the man based on the emotional story the woman had given out to the public. Nobody wants to hear from the man. Bloggers and content creators will pounce on the gossip to get more clicks.
What am I saying?
Society has been so lopsided in their rash judgemental dispositions in matters concerning man and woman, especially husbands and their wives. People always rush to accept the story of a woman, who comes to the public to say the bad things her husband had done to her more than the story of a man. She will be pitied, emotions and sentimental condemnation on the man will begin to fill the places. Nobody or few people believes the man's story.
Example, when Emeka Ike my brother came out to spill the spoilt milk in the public, many people refused to believe him, some remembered that they won't make their judgements untill they hear from his wife's side of the story. Many disbelieving Emeka Ike went on to ask for the wife to come out and clear the air. To get more support and backing from the public and also to present more convincing show to the people out there, Emeka Ike's wife took their son into that infamous interview. And the boy was there spewing trash on his Dad, utu rara ọtụ mụtara ya.
What happened?
Immediately, sentimental Ndị mmadụ now turned 360 to start condemning Emeka Ike for what he did to his son and no longer his wife. Are you seeing the psyop display the wife employed there? This is what the world wants.
As far as it's coming from the weaker vessel, they will believe it more than when the man is telling his own story.
This is too bad.
Women, wetin be una problem sef?
Nawaoh.

HotD vs GoT (season 1) ?
I've seen many comparisons between the two and according to some critics (quite a lot of them tbh) HotD is superior or has a potential to be because... reasons. Now, while I do believe that, while comparisons are always odious they sometimes make, but this one is really weird and unjust because a lot of people are still disappointed with how GoT ended (personally, I wasn't happy with how some things played out either, especially in the last two seasons, but I am definitely not that upset four years later and actually remember the show as a whole more or less fondly) and this disappointment together with anti D&D discourse probably clouds the judgement. However, they seem to ignore that GoT had 8 seasons and was mostly well liked and praised until the last two, while HOTD has barely begun and already has many problems writing-wise imho. Will those same people, after HOTD ends (and there is no way that everyone will be satisfied with the ending) retrospectively start to hate everything they are praising right now, I wonder? I do sincerely hope that HotD will improve and that every new season will be better then the previous one, but based strictly on the first seasons (I recently rewatched GoT s1) it's GoT >> HotD.
What do you think?
I didn't like GOT. I didn't watch it properly. I tuned in to see how they did some of the bigger moments like Red Wedding and Purple Wedding, and I watched the last two seasons just for asoiaf closure, and honestly, I liked the GOT ending, more or less.
Not Dany being killed by Jon, or Arya vs Night King, or King Bran, but Dany burning the whole place down. Her arc's sort of going there in the books imo. I'm a simple woman—I'm in this for the dragons and for Drogon burning things. I wanted to see Stoneheart and Young Griff and those storylines, but I will take Drogon burning things.
I truly don't get the pretense that HOTD is better than GOT or that Codal & co are in any way better than D&D. I'm giving them less points actually because they saw how GOT unraveled and they've made zero improvements. D&D at least have an excuse—Martin promised to have the books finished when they started. They signed on to adapt, not finish asoiaf on their own strengths. It's a complicated thing that even the creator is struggling with after a decade. They tried, at least.
Codal and co are already floundering in S1. They've already lost narrative coherence. Even the characters aren't coherent. And yes, you can use a time skip to just wave a "People change" flag at all the inconsistencies but come on.
In their defence tho, "And then all the hyper-intelligent special rare sentient magic dragons killed each other in the stupidest ways ever for no real reason" is not an easy story to tell without an extreme amount of hand-waving.
I don't think F&B should exist. I think Martin should have looked it over a couple of times like "Hot six-year-old? Jumping from one dragon to another? WTF is this? This ain't it. Nope."
Honestly, I think HBO just has a bunch of media people on the payroll hyping them up so they can use the emmys for free advertising. Brian Cox is up for a lead actor Emmy with a grand total of three episodes? It's not TV, just HBO living by HBO rules. If they say it's better then it's better. 🤷🏾♀️

Misc Ep 1
Hello! This is about the pilot of Yellowjackets, and ONLY the pilot of Yellowjackets. I have not seen beyond the first episode, at all, and know NOTHING about this show. Please do not spoil it for me. Things that are spoilery in nature, for me, include: saying things like “Just wait!!” confirming or denying anything I put forward, outside information about the cast interviews or creator statements, leading questions like “Do you think “blank moment” means anything?” etc. Remember that Y’ALL HAVE SEEN THE SHOW AND I HAVE NOT. This informs the way you talk about things relating to the show. Just be really careful is all I’m asking. Also: If there is LITERALLY any stance I could take on this show or character that would make you upset, please just fucking block the tag
If you WOULD like to discuss the show and my takes on it, the Discord is right here! I don’t go there, so it’s a great place to get every emotion out.
Please thank @sailorsunspot and @moonlight-frittata for backing this odd way of doing a liveblog, and remember my tip jar is always open!
I think the expectation is that you’ll be more interested in the whole idea that these girls end up hunting each other for sport or ritual or whjatever, and, the first episode seems to imply, fucking eating each other. I do think that’s great, and all, as a consequence ofd things, but what I’m mostly into is something that, luckily, at least in this pilot, the show seems into as well: How do these girls become this thing? How does a human being break down? What is it about fear that brings forth ritual, how does ritual sometimes cover or cleanse violence, what is it about humanity that needs ritual as a way of getting both closer to and further from our actions?
We know this from the get-go. We’re shown this before we get to know any of the girls, before we get to know any of the girls, before we get to reflect on how nice and normal and accomplished we are. It’s not interested in rubbernefcking at normal people becoming something difficult, becoming something that bridges the gap between the new world of a sort of sterilized tribalism, and an old world very obvious and, daresay more honest, level of violence and tribalism. We’ll see if I still feel like that’s part of the discussion in a few episodes. Everything is hard to tell from a pilot.
How do i feel about Natalie? I’m not sure, I don’t really know enough about her. I have a couple mild worries, but I don’t actually have a BASIS for those, when I think about it. All I have is vague vibes, and it’s absolutely unfair to judge something off of a vibe I have based on OTHER narratives. So, I reserve judgement. I definitely want her goddamn Porsche and rifle, that’s for sure. The show, I think, I hope, wants to tell us something with her story. That she percieves a threat and jumps to violence--we see that in the flashback with her, as well. Natalie’s first impulse is to strike. This is not new and this is not news, and maybe, takoing this back to Shauna, it’s showing how MANY of them have never managed to move forward from the person they were while they were a Yellowjacket.
I had a girl like Laura Lee on cheer squad, and it may not surprise you to know we had a contentious relationship at best, as I often took to sighing and snapping gum while she led prayer.
Misty. Misty! I was so fucking sure when we saw her in the pep rally we were going to get all that dumb bullshit about how everyone is SO MEAN to the poor nerdy one blah blah wah wah. But no! It’s much more realistic than that. They just don’t want to be friends with her. They ignore her. I love that moment when Nat sees her and then she disappears, because she’s not an entity to them, she’s just a fucking ghost. She’s a nothing. The show takes pains to show that she DOESN’T fucking know how to act socially. She’s the kind of cruel where she would happily sit and watch a rat struggle and drown. When she’s an adult, she’s bitter and vindictive to people who try her. Even a sick old woman. She’s not a nice or good person, and I love so much that the show is like, IMMEDIATELY when we see her as an adult, “If you were looking for an innocent little gumdrop rainbow sad nerd, Misty ain’t it” and that actually will give me space to LIKE Misty.
So much of the team dynamic feels so authentically like whoever was writing this did time on a high school girls’ sports team, because this is genuinely one of the only things I’ve ever seen that reminds me of cheer, which was far far more “Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me” than everyone holding hands and gay kissing and doing it each other’s makeup (It was also that though. Life is complicated) I love that they get into an absolutely bitter fight the night before they leave at the bonfire. Truly enjoyed it. (Tag yourself, I’m Van grabbing another beer before we all have to talk about our feelings.)
By the by, that whole huge it out bullshit in a secluded part of the party is definitely a shade toward their time in the woods, and Jackie’s approach and i know I basically already went into it, ut I definitely have to mention it again.
Double by the by: Putting a pin in the whole “best things about each other” for the end of the seasons and I’m hoping someone reminds me because I think we will come BACK to these qualities and see them either revealed or destroyed.

On NBC's Last Comic Standing, Dat Phan was a comedian who would record his sets and then take notes on how the audience reacted or didn't react to his jokes. He even measured things like rhythm, syllables, and the type of words he was using. He had a big binder of these notes. He would then take that information to create his sets.
I remember the other contestants on the show sneering at his approach to create sets, but it seemed like he was actually on to something as the eventual winner of the competition.
If someone wrote a program that did the same thing and was able to write an algorithm to recommend which jokes to include in a set or what topics to make jokes about or to predict whether a joke would flop or not, would they be an evil tech bro trying to dehumanize artists and reduce their work to numbers on a spreadsheet? Or would they just be attempting to automate a process that human beings can do intuitively.
Remember how sorters were a trend for a little while on social media? Someone wrote a program on tumblr to allow people to rank a list of of the titles of characters/songs/shows etc. A computer program is not necessary for this; humans were able to rank their favorite things without a program since the beginning of time. However, when the list of items gets particularly long it gets harder to hold all of those comparisons in your head. A computer that's able to split a long list into a series of comparisons against each other makes this process easier. It isn't taking away your judgement or your taste, and if you don't agree with the results that it comes up with, that algorithm can always be changed.
I tell you all of this just to say that algorithms are not evil. A lot of algorithms attempt to do things that humans can do but at scales that become difficult for humans to hold in their heads. Where harm and evil come into the equations is when humans act like these algorithms are magically more objective than humans instead of being filled with the biases of their creators or the data that they are collecting and analyzing. It's harmful when people are sold a bunch of hype about what these programs can do and that leads them to fire people. It's harmful when people use them to do evil things like jail people based on facial recognition software.
To go back to my first example, I think most people would find it a bit weird but still ok for a comedian to use a program to help them create their own sets. It would become more controversial if comedy clubs were using a similar program for all comedians who wanted to perform at their venues and then making decisions to book based on that. Now it's affecting people's livelihoods. Now we want to ask questions like is that program able to be updated with new data? What about the existing data, did it take into account different audiences and their tastes or the identity of the person telling the jokes or the history of who was allowed to be celebrated as comedians? Where did this data even come from and are you allowed to use it? Great questions to ask, but a lot of tech companies don't operate that way. It's enough to create enough of a something to so that I can go to a comedy club and tell them their problems for getting butts in seats are over with a click of a button. Even if it's not true. And right now a lot of hype about AI is not true, and yet people are making serious decisions as if they were.

Getting to know God is getting to a road where you are going to the knowing literally all, I sometimes hear that’s why there’s still so much judgement, people either crash because of so much information or go in a way that simplifies the information into making it personal goals, dreams and even the so called “purposes”, they are raised and made know certain things and work towards those things taught, then these people go through life with that mindset and they learn new things, visit places other than home, and while living it they start updating or upgrading their so-called knowledge base (I say all this as a way of opinion from a voice that wants to share from me to you, but make you think of their unique sense of approach, if you want more personal opinions we’d need to meet in person or else we’d just be assuming our ways of being instead of actually showing willingness to actually understand), is it while it lasts here on earth tho? Or is that what really makes them enjoy this moment? Are the ones that think in eternal life the ones wrong? Are the ones living peacefully here doing wrong for not spreading the word of Jesus by giving their help to others? Is it wrong to think that if we all unite in mind and soul we can finally live peacefully as we'd be aware of how our immortality shows in ourselves? We can live peacefully and with love, being aware of our surroundings and traveling in a way that has never been seen, should I tell you why? It’s easy, we know about The Creator, the One and Only Almighty God who can talk with me, with you, with him, with her, with it, with us, with them, with you, with all, communicative, I talk to you, reader, I, as the writer, I love when you share what you share, wanna know why? It is because I’m reminded of when I saw it the first time and all the times, that’s a must to this type of things, such as calling yourself woke, to know the present you can’t ignore past and future, else you’re just being manipulated and not actually acting on it, singularity is something amazing. We are so rich in knowledge and our own way of seeing things can be expressed so beautifully, I’m still waiting, hoping to read more of what you write, thank you for your friendship and for sharing the type of knowledge you share. I hope to share more with you too.
Call God different names, there are different languages and whilst this indeed is the same name, it is spelled and said in the language being spoken, which is right? Understand the Universe is and exists, wether you and I know the whole spectrum of what the word entitles, we can achieve a level of understanding by connecting to the roots in our minds, the place where all is one and one is all. God is bigger than the Universe, now meditate and know Christ is peace to all mankind, amen.
I hope to talk with you soon.

(reblogging this here instead of my main blog for... ya know... reasons)
Antis have successfully spread a big lie that proship means someone who defends pedophilia (and they constantly misuse that word to include ships involving teenage characters).
What proship really means is someone who doesn't make moral judgements against strangers on the internet based solely on what they ship, because there are a lot of different reasons why a person might explore things in fiction that make you uncomfortable.
For example, say you've got a ship involving a 14-year-old character (which covers a LOT of anime and other popular cartoons) and you've got four people who ship it.
Shipper #1 is a legitimate creep.
Shipper #2 is a CSA survivor using the ship to cope by recreating their trauma in a way they can control, which is a technique encouraged by therapists.
Shipper #3 is only 16 years old, yet people are still telling them that they're a pedophile for sexualizing any fictional character who's a minor. Good job, that teen's now terrified of their own sexuality.
Shipper #4 just likes the dynamic of the characters and isn't paying attention to the ages because it's not real anyway. Maybe they're imagining what the relationship would look like when the characters are several years older. According to antis, that doesn't matter. They were a kid in the show so anyone aging them up is just doing it as an excuse... unless the creator of the show does it, in which case it's fine for some reason? Yeah, the "aging up doesn't count" argument falls apart really fast...
None of these are strawmen. I've seen each of these cases, and mostly the latter three. These are the people being harassed and doxxed as "pedophiles", and the unfairness of that is why proshippers defend them.
-
And THEN of course it's not just about underage ships, because the same antis who spread that lie will attack you for shipping something like enemies-to-lovers because it "romanticizes abuse", or characters who grew up together because "they're like siblings", or any ship with a large age gap even if both characters are adults, so there are a LOT of people who want absolutely nothing to do with underage ships or their shippers but still have reason to be proship.
Point being, if you've got proshippers listed alongside bigots and fascists in your DNIs... or if you're kicking people out of your discord group (or your Star Stable club) the moment you find out they label themselves proship... then you've probably been lied to about what that means.
Reminder that proship does NOT mean that you are personally okay with every kind of ship. A ship can make you feel sick. A ship can make you unfollow a person and never look back. A ship can make you quit the internet for the day.
So long as you aren't a dick to the person, I consider you proship.
#what I'm saying is let me back in the fucking club already#you don't even have to unblock me#I just wanna be able to connect with the others#I won't even hold a grudge. I know how thoroughly the misinformation about proshippers has been spread.#(someone who doesn't have me blocked feel free to share this with those who do if you're feeling extra bold)

[ad_1] “Folks need an authority to inform them the best way to worth issues, however they select this authority not based mostly on details or outcomes –– they select it as a result of it appears authoritative or acquainted.” -Michael Lewis, The Huge Quick.Famend creator Michael Lewis printed his e book, Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon, on the rise and fall of FTX on the primary day of the trial of its infamous founder Sam Bankman-Fried (Bankman-Fried). The e book has met with heavy criticism by commentators for its seemingly favorable portrayal of the millennial crypto founder. It’s humorous as a result of at its core, the story of Bankman-Fried is a really old-school, Huge Quick-esque story of a privileged actor who leveraged, for his personal acquire, our society’s predilection to make worth judgements on individuals not as a result of their observe document –– or as Lewis put it, “details” –– however relatively based mostly off of a set of heuristics and approval from “refined” individuals. Bankman-Fried’s capability to persuade these we belief to be the “good individuals” of our society –– together with Lewis –– is uncanny. However why did they fall for him? Maybe, it's as a result of Bankman-Fried was somebody they understood. He was an insider, who –– like them –– noticed crypto as a group they may capitalize on, relatively than an an ecosystem to nourish. Crypto ColonialismFortune Journal in their profile of Bankman-Fried, wrote that the Bay Space native doesn’t appear to be essentially the most highly effective man in crypto. However is that actually true?If something, a 20-something year-old man oozing social awkwardness, an MIT diploma, and poor fashion-sense is the moist dream of many a contemporary “refined” tech investor. Bankman-Fried might simply be a personality on the HBO show Silicon Valley. Now compound that together with his birthright –– two mother and father who're regulation professors at a contemporary basilica of commerce –– Stanford College, and you've got virtually messianic determine of recent capitalism. One needn't look additional than the reward given to him by Kevin O’Leary, saying “I am a giant advocate for Sam as a result of he has two mother and father which might be compliance legal professionals." the Shark Tank investor stated in 2022. O’Leary continued: “If there's ever a spot I may very well be that I am not going to get in bother, it should be at FTX.” We later discovered that the Canadian investor was paid near 1,000,000 dollars an hour to be a public spokesperson for Bankman-Fried.However past Bankman-Fried’s bona fides, the actual promoting level that captured investor consideration was Bankman-Fried’s mission. Not “efficient altruism” –– subscribing to modern, fake empathic actions is definitely a very good advertising and marketing transfer for elite financiers. However, what actually excited his traders was his perception that crypto wasn’t a severe business worthy of build up, however relatively an incredible alternative to seize a bag load of cash from gamblers. As a Sequoia Capital’s enterprise capitalist put it in a now deleted profile on Bankman-Fried, “Sure, crypto ultimately might substitute cash, and, sure, it may possibly ultimately decentralize the online,” the investor stated. He continued: “However all these issues aren't true immediately. And, so, what's the factor that folks do immediately? They commerce. And if individuals commerce, and folks like buying and selling, what's the enterprise mannequin that may make tons of cash? It will be an change.”This quote reveals that the traders of Bankman-Fried didn’t view the crypto group as severe. To them, crypto itself has the identical societal significance to getting three units of cherries in a row on a slot machine in a Vegas on line casino. Higher to put money into the on line casino relatively than the images of cherries.Agree or disagree with them, the crypto, and particularly the bitcoin subsection, of the group is severe with their object
ives. They're largely a set of libertarian, hyper-principled individuals. They're profoundly severe about their view on how blockchains can be utilized to liberate the at present unbanked, shield the worth of 1’s labor from ever growing inflation, and join individuals all over the world via funds, and particularly take away authorities interference in cash.As Erik Voorhees’ places it –– in what's now one of the final debates with Bankman-Fried –– “what we're doing right here is in impact bringing the identical separation that occurred between church and state to state and funds. In impact liberating individuals all over the world.” The earnesty of perception held by individuals like Voorhees doesn’t compute for individuals like Sequoia VC or Bankman-Fried. For them these beliefs have been helpful in that they obtained a group to work arduous for near no reward till the primary few bitcoin bull runs. However the perception itself? For the jaded elite, an organization mission usually is a way to a single finish: Enrich one’s checking account. To them, a mission is as important as making a “charity,” or happening a service journey in highschool to look good for an ivy league admissions officer. It's simply a part of “the sport.”That is fairly problematic, since their investments in immature crypto companies –– and total infantile habits, like when FTX raised $420,690,000 from 69 traders –– is a big a part of the explanation the “crypto” business isn’t respected by the general public.Furthermore, Bankman-Fried regularly made statements criticizing bitcoin, for being “sluggish, and hulking.” Have in mind, the bitcoin group not solely birthed crypto, however are –– for better or worse –– maybe essentially the most ideologically pure individuals in know-how. Furthermore, Bankman-Fried sought to affect laws that may impression the earnest bitcoiners. Since he was –– previous to FTX’s collapse –– one of many largest Washington donors, he seemingly would reach lobbying the federal government to observe his view. However this here's a type of colonization. The crypto group was a vibrant ecosystem previous to Bankman-Fried’s entry. It was a bunch of misfits that got here collectively to construct one thing that was distinctive and essential. An opportunity to really feel empowered in a system they really feel marginalized in. For Bankman-Fried and his cohorts to return into it aiming to make a proportion off of the buying and selling charges of traders –– relatively than create merchandise and companies within the ethos of bitcoin –– was their authentic sin. Ought to we be so stunned that it will definitely fell aside?A Silicon SocialistIn an identical vein to a younger little one who asks “why doesn’t the federal government simply print extra money and provides it to the homeless?” –– Bankman-Fried’s declare to fame was to make some huge cash and provides it away. Like some benevolent patrician. Andrew Carnegie in board shorts. However was it actually an genuine impulse for charity, or was his empathy just a few form of sport technique to extend his social capital? In a phone call with crypto reporter Tiffany Fong, Bankman-Fried stated that he donated as a lot cash to Republicans as he did Democrats, however did so quietly with a purpose to acquire favor with journalists who he felt have been predominantly left wing. In different phrases, Bankman-Fried manufactured a public persona of humanitarianism, however in actuality his raison d'être was to realize extra energy and cloutHis former enterprise associate Anthony Scaramucci said that he noticed Bankman-Fried as having a form of “superiority advanced.” So, maybe in Bankman-Fried’s head he thought that he might single-handedly remedy the entire world’s issues if solely he had the entire cash.Regardless of the reality could also be –– what's it that made Bankman-Fried assume that he had the suitable to make use of different’s cash at his personal discretion? Or for him to enter an area that he, as soon as once more, had near nothing to do with crea
ting. What made him assume that he must be the authority who decides what aspects are kosher or haram? Or write legislation for it?At its core is a perception he was the neatest particular person within the room. A perception definitely had the innate privilege to really feel given his mother and father’ societal standing, and his simple analytical wit. However, what was lacking within the matrix of Bankman-Fried was a soul. A soul that may permit for him to actually respect group that he was getting into as a stranger. Historical past is crammed with examples of individuals just like Bankman-Fried, who rose to energy promising to be stewards of a brand new, extra truthful utopia. When, in actuality, the principle change they’re searching for is to be those in energy. Bankman-Fried took that trope and sprinkled in Silicon Valley tradition. As Michael Lewis writes, for Bankman-Fried, most of life is just some kind of game. One which –– if most authorized consultants are correct –– he gained’t be getting any restarts on.It is a visitor submit by Jacob Kozhipatt. Opinions expressed are totally their very own and don't essentially replicate these of BTC Inc or Bitcoin Journal. [ad_2]

I have become aware of the forthcoming Kenobi fanedit, and oh boy...
So, I have a longstanding belief that harshly criticizing finished works based only on their trailer is bad, actually, and should be undertaken with extreme caution. With that in mind, it's a bit hard to say exactly what direction the Kenobi: Trials of the Master fanedit is headed in, but I don't feel like it is interested in smoothing over the rough parts of tbhe show so much as simply being unhappy it didn't tell an entirely different story.
I totally believe the creator behind it is a VFX professional and the trailer showcases some very detailed, very stylized VFX work. I think it's mostly good work to it's own ends, even before qualifying that its fan work. But take these two shots, one from Kenobi and one from the fanedit:
What exactly does the busier design accomplish? There is something to be said for the continuity choice of adding the gap in the middle, though full disclosure I am bored by continuity nitpicking and that's the last I'll say of it. There's no loss of continuity, though, in deciding for a bleak, ominous, present obelisk with the solar system obscured by weather. The dreariness is part of what people didn't like about Kenobi, I know, but the film language in the original is so much clearer and to purpose: the Empire was looming, it was consuming, and it was a bummer.
I know the argument that gets made here: Star Wars used to be fun! I mean, you were having fun, sure, but Luke's aunt and uncle are shown dead and charred in Episode IV, Han is pointlessly tortured in Episode V, and Leia is made into a sex slave in Episode VI. It never ceases to amaze how much people actively disengage from the Original Trilogy to construct the fandom, nor how mad they are Star Wars would take the details of the OT seriously. Kenobi, for all its foibles, did a great job making the emotional torment, bleakness, and fear in the Galactic Empire part of the landscape of Kenobi; Kenobi the show understands the need for a new hope in that landscape, and by the end so does Kenobi the character.
The other thing that rubs me wrong is the conspicuous absence of one of the best Disney-era characters: Reva Sevander. Given the fan reception around her character, I don't feel like I'm being uncharitable assuming they are disappearing her from the fan edit. Now, the execution of her plot in the first two episodes was, in my judgement, a little off balance. But fans rushed to judgement but by the end it was clear that those were deliberate creative choices: Reva was compensating. She was a minority marked for death if she did not enthusiastically collaborate and she poured her fury and desire for revenge into overplaying that part for her superiors. (It bears saying that not only did Moses Ingram deliver this performance like a champion---my issues are firmly with the direction and editing---the extratextuality of having a black actress deliver those beats was on point.) An edit that telegraphed that a little more a little sooner could help with that frustration, though a shorter edit with her in it could well deal with the problem simply by not having to wait as long for her motives to come into focus.
Whatever issues the show had coming to grips with her motivations early, by the end she was a powerful answer to an unspoken question that hung over the show: Why did Kenobi not sink into rage? Star Wars' philosophy does not allow Kenobi to give into anger and hate, but to sharpen Yoda's warning, someone needs to. The show didn't need to invoke Order 66 or flashbacks to make killing Vader a plausible motivation for anyone, but it foils expertly with both Kenobi's despair at the events around the purge and Vader's own quest for revenge. Well, the concept is expert; the pacing left something to be desired. Nonetheless, the show understands that Kenobi's trials are over---and that he failed them. The question Kenobi asks is when all is lost, when your best friend has become your bitterest enemy, when fascism bares down on you what can you do to find hope for the next fight?
The tragedy at the heart of Revenge of the Sith has never sat well with a certain trenchant of fans, so of course a show in such clear continuity with that tragedy was never going to be a fan favorite. For all I've defended it here, the show is a mixed bag on delivering on its ideas, and so is a good candidate for a fan edit. But I am skeptical that people who neither grokked the bleakness of the show nor understood how Reva was a thematic lynchpin can be called fans to do the editing.
To be responsible, I'll say it's possible the edit is headed in a different direction, and a direction that answers my concerns here! I've been fooled by marketing for professional Star Wars movies before, after all. I'm just jaded after spending time around this fandom
