Ok but seriously though
Is there any way to read act 12 of A3 in English? Even just a summary of what happens would be enough

Tumblr media
i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.
two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!
#i don’t know if pay rates differ per networks#but a.ivi and s.urrashu have said that they needed to work outside of su in order to make sufficient funds#it only makes me wonder what other ways su suffered from a lower budget#that we as the audience never got to see#in the vein of the too-little characters complaint#another part of that is that low-stakes episodes should’ve been abt the main cast instead of the townies#like last one out of beach city and too short to ride vs restaurant wars and kiki’s pizza delivery service#i definitely see that especially since that isn’t budget related#nor would it seem to be network related (even if cn had an ‘episodic episodes’ quota it could still be abt the gems#(another side note: /would/ cn even have a requirement that the show make episodes that can be watched standalone?#this is a question for the people who were around when su was airing#what episodes often got rerun?#was it the townie eps or the lore eps?#for example i heard that su once did a ‘peridot event’ where they just reran peridot episodes#which had eps that skip around in the show#did they even care about airing the story so that it made sense anyways?#id get it if the low stakes townie episodes were the ones getting rerun))#but i have such a boring view on that which is i think it’s simply because the creators like townie eps#like in interviews r.ebecca s.ugar has said she’s the type to be really invested in background characters#answers in interviews have been crafted in ways to hide what’s really going on though tbf#prime example of this is rebecca and ian saying the wedding being interrupted was meant to follow the common trope#when later in the art book they said that it was bc cn rejected the ep bc it ‘wasn’t interesting enough’#both could simultaneously be true! it’s a psychology thing though where people make up nice-sounding explanations behind what they create#in retrospect because they want it to be thought out in such a nice way they believe in it#the bigger problem is that not matter how many episodes there are of them#it can be hard for ppl to be invested in the townies the same way they are invested in the main cast#i’m sure that a million writers have made surefire advice on how to get an audience to care about characters#but off the top of my head i think it’s because 1. most don’t have strong motivations to get truly invested in#(exception is ronaldo but people find him too annoying to care about him)#okay i had more points and explanations but i hit the tag limit and idk if anyone is actually reading this so bye

I ship tyzula in a ‘this story is azula-focused and action-filled with lots of tension and conflict and drama so it’s nice she’s got a pink gf on her side’ way, and I ship maizula in a ‘this story is focused entirely on these two fucked up girls who are fucked up in different ways who then try to be less fucked up as possible for each other’ way. I also ship mailee in a ‘let’s explore azula’s deep sense of abandonment and rejection and jealousy and let her work out how platonic love is the safest for her at the moment and make her be the centre of the trio where the rest of the trio is dating’ way.

I think the reason I LOVE part two so much, and have way way less complaints than others, is I’m a Penelope fan before a Polin fan. And part two was Penelope and Lady Whistledown’s moment. I think she was brave in part 1, but she was powerful in part 2 (as well as still being brave). Seeing her stand up to Colin was amazing, her speeches to him were top notch (especially after the wedding breakfast when she said he wouldn’t understand because he’s not a woman with little power in society).
Her with Portia and her family was amazing, and added such a nice depth to part two. Portia first wanted to support her daughter after Colin talking (yelling) to her and the stuff with Dungas, but it turned to real conversation and real respect. I believe Penelope publicly named herself as Whistledown to help her mother keep the estate first, because Cressida ended up leaving anyway. And she could’ve found a way forward with Colin without everyone knowing. Also her finding her sisters ball is beautiful, very selfless and kind. I think I’m much more happy to see her birth the Featherington heir after all the growth with her family. I didn’t really expect it to occur, and it was so beautiful.
I am so glad she got to show her absolute genius in sorting out the Queen/ Whistledown drama. When she tells Colin about Cressida knowing and he speaks over her and she’s trying to get a word in, I wanted her to own her name, power and do something for herself. I was so happy to see it happen.

I've been working on Finally finishing Naruto Shippuden (after being a Naruto fan for nearly 15 years), & I just finished episode 420. And I have some THOUGHTS about the "Naruto is the reincarnation of Ashura" thing. This started as just me rambling for my normal liveblog posting, but I had a LOT of thoughts about this actually, so I am presenting them to u all Now.
So. Naruto meeting the Sage of Six Paths! Cool!!! I'm finally learning about Naruto being the reincarnation of Ashura, which... honestly is not a choice that I like very much. Narratively speaking, I mean. The Point of Naruto's journey was that he was the underdog, the bottom of his class, the orphan that everyone hated and made fun of. Through hard work and perseverance, he managed to drag himself from being a complete social outcast to someone generally really loved and respected. That's compelling!!! It means a lot!!!
But then the show is like. "Oh...actually, he's the son of the fourth hokage. And Also, he's the reincarnation of the son of the literal creator of ninshuu aka the precursor of modern ninjutsu." I mind him being Minato's son less as a narrative choice (for reasons I will get into shortly), but making him Ashura's reincarnation?? I've got Several things that bug me about that.
So First, for him being Minato's son. It's not like that's ever Actually given him any sort of status (since most people don't know), & Minato was also kind of just a random guy?? Just incredibly skilled, enough so to become the 4th hokage. And then there's also Kushina, descended from a very successful and very Feared clan that ended up almost entirely killed bc of that fear. Naruto being an Uzumaki means great power, huge chakra reserves (not even including the extra chakra he gets from Kurama), & some innate skills (that Naruto mostly didn't inherit, but one can play pretend sometimes). BUT ALSO, they were almost entirely killed off. He's a survivor of his clan's genocide that happened well before he was even born, and he doesn't even REALIZE it yet. So even though being Minato's son means he's the son of a very influential person, it doesn't give him the same leverage as being a Senju or Uchiha would. And the clan he Does belong to bc of Kushina does not give him status either, bc they're almost all fuckin Dead. And we know that Minato is a Namikaze, but as for what that actually *means*.... it's basically nonexistent. There is no mention of a Namikaze clan. Minato was just a prodigy in his own right.
SO.... All that is to say that while appending Naruto's orphan story with a "well, Actually, his parents were very powerful and well respected" does discount it a little bit, it's still not Especially unique in terms of what other people in their world may experience (there are other descendants of current and/or former kage + Many other powerful clans running around) OR in the benefits that it gives him (essentially nothing, outside of his physical strength and the inheritance of Kurama himself)(which inheriting Kurama did grant him access to IMMENSE power, but it also was the source of So Much of his suffering growing up, so I think it balances out).
The "reincarnation of Ashura, son of the Sage of Six Paths" thing tho... that one really kinda does. At that point, Naruto is no longer just the orphaned son of two respected shinobi & the current jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi (something special, but not entirely original, given that there are Other jinchuuriki who are descendants of powerful shinobi). He is now something that NO ONE ELSE ALIVE can be. It is saying that He, above Everyone Else, is special in this way. Outside of Sasuke lol, but I'll touch on that in a moment.
It just feels kinda cheap. It's cool I guess, but at this point it feels like we've completely lost the Plucky Orphan who works hard to overcome his circumstances plot. It's saying that he was Always one of a kind, he was Always destined to become Someone Special (or that he was, in fact, special the whole time). It removes the importance of his hard work in the equation. It makes it so that this is no longer something he earned for himself, but rather something that was a Given, since he is, of course, Ashura's reincarnation.
Cheap. It's cheap. And I don't like it.
Then we get into Sasuke being the reincarnation of Indra. Which I haven't gotten to that yet in the show, but I know from seeing it around. I do enjoy the sun and moon aesthetic between Naruto and Sasuke (so SO much, in fact), but. Making Sasuke the reincarnation of the Other son of the Sage of Six Paths is... frustrating? In several ways. There is of course the fact that Naruto and Sasuke have such extremely gay vibes (and Always Have), so making them the reincarnations of brothers so late in the story feels like an insult to anyone who reads their relationship in that way. Which to be fair, we do see Naruto mention at a few points that he thinks of Sasuke like a brother, but it's only a few points + feels like a kind of narrative cop-out. Sasuke himself said he doesn't think of Naruto in that way (though that could also be his self-denial speaking & it could change. Haven't gotten that far yet.), & I think there are much better choices for Naruto's "brother" figure (primarily Iruka, but people like Killer Bee and any of the other konoha 12 would be fitting too). Personally, it feels like Naruto was trying to put a name to his very strong feelings for Sasuke, & since he doesn't realize being gay is an option (since Kishimoto is clearly homophobic & made this ninja society to reflect that), he settled on Brother. But Sasuke is like "what the fuck? No, my only brother is Itachi." Instead, Sasuke has called Naruto his best friend. Which also doesn't fully encompass their relationship, but it's still closer than Brother.
So here we are, Kishimoto saying around 555 episodes into the plot (only 80 more to go) that they're actually the reincarnations of brothers. And not just any brothers. THE sons of the Sage of Six Paths. Incredibly influential, incredibly powerful, two sides of the same coin and very historically significant figures. Sasuke always had the "descended from an elite, yet disgraced clan" thing going for him, so in my opinion it doesn't hold the same kind of insult to his story that it does for Naruto. But it still feels like an insult to THEIR story.
Naruto and Sasuke were just two orphan boys. Their moms were best friends, but they didn't know that. They died when they were too young. But Naruto and Sasuke still gravitated towards one another. Understood each other like no one else. And got on each other's nerves like no one else. But that irritation stemmed from their genuine admiration of each other. They wanted to be able to beat each other. They became Rivals. And it was on their own terms. No one else pushed them together. Outside of them ending up on the same team, their entire relationship was fueled by their recognition of one another, Jealousy of one another, and the simple enjoyment of being around one another. They were the ones to decide the importance of their relationship. Sasuke recognizing Naruto as his closest friend & thus thinking he was the one he had to cut off to achieve power, and Naruto recognizing Sasuke as his first peer that acknowledged him, a precious bond he finally made, and thus someone he had to cling to FIERCELY. That was all them.
But here we are. They're a reincarnated set. The sun and the moon, but Officially. One could say soulmates in a way, in a non-romantic kind of context (considering the first iteration was a pair of brothers). While this is cool from a story standpoint, it really takes some significance away from their relationship to me. It makes it less of something they chose for themselves and more of a given. Pretty much just like Naruto being Ashura's reincarnation cheapens his own story, it cheapens their relationship too.
I dont want a story about two boys who were destined to be important to each other!!!! I want a story about two orphans who just happened to become important to one another thru a series of coincidences and personal choices. In that way, their relationship gains greater gravity bc it's born from their own hearts Alone. It's Naruto moving mountains for the sake of this boy he loves, and it's Sasuke finally coming back around bc of the force of Naruto's dedication. It means so much more than the implication that they were always meant to be a pair. So I really don't like this narrative choice.
#speculation nation#fanny watches naruto#naruto#narusasu#sasunaru#(i talk about how the reincarnation thing affects the context of their relationship lower down in the post)#naruto spoilers#if anyone still cares about those lol#anyways it's been really cool to finally see all this late-show stuff for myself after being in the fandom for so long#(i was caught up once upon a time. but that was around episode 200 or so lol)#but as much as im enjoying some things in the show. there are other things that i just... dont like.#part of that is nearly Half the entirety of shippuden being the fucking war arc. it's precisely what's kept me from catching up until now#but then theres the loss of the story's original Feeling. the anti-war and anti-child soldiers sentiment.#Naruto being an absolute nobody and watching Haku and Zabuza's ending & being so moved by it that it informs his entire ninja way#but Kishimoto is turning around and saying 'he was actually destined for this the whole time'. which just... i just really don't like it.#this + Neji's death feels like it's discounting their fight's entire point. Neji's entire character arc.#the fact that fate doesnt matter as much as dedication. being a 'genius' doesnt matter as much as effort.#but Neji. the caged bird. dies to protect the main line. driving home that it was pointless for him to resist it the whole time.#and Naruto. the one who worked tirelessly to become hokage against all odds and adversity. turns out it was Meant To Be after all.#sigh... i really do love this anime so much. ive loved it for most of my memory and its characters are so so dear to me.#but i also. really. REAAAAAAAAALLY hate this anime sometimes. damned anime discounting its own points...#alas. i shall continue to watch. because i do want to finally finish it.#i shall simply. probably not watch Boruto afterwards lol

oh my ruined reality you guys I love loredumpinb
Los Filii Rojos
Gifted the eyes and talents of the wise owl.
EL REINO DE PROGRESO (The Kingdom of Progress) is legally recognized as Prominent Kingdom/s.
Government: Absolute monarchy.
(1134) Monarch(s): Rey (King) Abrán Girasol.
(1134) Intended Royal Successor: Rei Malik.
National Language(s): Español, English.
National Religion: Modern Originism.
Natural Abilities: Fire power, channeling of lightning, night vision, silent teleportation, teleportation.
Overworld. Northwestern mainland and islands. Engaged in trade with Galbenii, Les Oranges, Le Viole, and Y Pinc.
Kingdom Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): Demolished by the Soulstice personally. Survivors reside in The Last Kingdom, headed by King Rei Malik who sits at the head of TLK’s council. The late Rey Abrán Girasol’s soul was stolen by the Soulstice while their apprentice watched it happen. King Rei escaped with a small horde of Filii Rojo, with such notable survivors as Professor Cortés of the Redstone Academy, and began officially developing the first attempt at the Last Kingdom only 2 years after the Soulstice. Every so often, scouts would scour the Overworld, looking for other surviving Filii and collect them in the Last Kingdom, where hope goes to wither.
Population: ~200-300 estimated. 254 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.
Les Filii Oranges
Gifted bodies that reflect their chaotic nature.
LE SOLEIL ORANGE (The Orange Sun) is legally recognized as Nation/s or Country/ies.
Government: Divided Bureaucracy.
(1134) Figurehead: Roi (King) Vladimir d’Pasarelle.
(1134) Intended Figurehead Successor: Aver d’Pasarelle.
(1134) Regional Rulers: Gastón Pȇcheur | Francine d’Centre | Jean Luc | Maurice Prȇtre | Raphael “Le Feu” Régle.
National Language(s): Français, English.
National Religion: Old Originism.
Natural Abilities: Material creation, transfiguration, teleportation.
Overworld. Central mainland, the only landlocked nation. Engaged in trade with Los Rojos, Galbenii, and Zeleni.
National Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): Divided and demolished among the three Soul Brothers. The regional rulers all fought for their homes and were all destroyed, except for Maurice Prȇtre who ran as soon as he heard of the coming invasion, and his people followed. Notably, Le Feu landed a strike upon the Corrupted One, but was destroyed in the process. His body was never found. Roi Vladimir d’Passarelle and his family certainly perished. Survivors resided in the abandoned Zeleni Forests until being discovered and collected by Filia Aquamarijn: General Athena Proxima during the rebuilding of the Last Kingdom. The Filii Orange have no representative in TLK’s council.
Population: ~4oo estimated. 378 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.
(why is there no yellow I’m going to scream)
Filii Galbenii
Gifted the pointed vision, sharp fangs, and armored scales of the snake.
TARA AURULUI (The Land of Gold) is legally recognized as Empirical Power/s.
Government: Divided Monarchies.
(1134) Monarch(s): Reginӑ (Queen) Caliban Valentina de Ordin | Rege (King) Anamar Valentina de Ordin | Prinţ (Prince) Griffin Valentina de Ordin | Reginӑ (Queen) Stefana Justiţie de Ierarchie | Rege (King) Andrei Atingere de Loialitate | Prinţesă (Princess) Vanda Atingere de Loialitate.
National Language(s): Română, English.
National Religion: Old Originism
Natural Abilities: Summoning of lightning/light, venom-filled fangs, hyperspeed, teleportation.
Overworld. Central mainland and eastern coast. Engaged in trade with Los Rojos, Les Oranges, Zeleni, De Aquamarijnen, Y Pinc, and Le Viole.
Empirical Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): While all of the farmlands and the Loialitate Palace were entirely demolished, the Ordin and Ierarchie palaces were left nearly untouched. This was the work of the Darkness, which caused the deaths of Reginӑ Stefana Justiţie and Rege Andrei Atingere. Reginӑ Caliban Valentina and her son escaped the destruction narrowly, with Prinţ Griffin revealing that his mother was unconscious for most of it. The two of them found their way to the Last Kingdom along with the 3 other survivors they had with them. Prinţesă Vanda is said to have escaped with a maid and a guard after receiving news of her fathers death. This cannot be confirmed nor denied as her body was never found among the rubble of Loialitate. Reginӑ Caliban and her son both hold positions in TLK’s council.
Population: 8 speculated. 5 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.
Filii Zeleni
Gifted the wings and antennae of the lively butterfly.
OMILJENO VRIJEME MAJKE (Mother Time’s Favorite) is legally recognized as Distinguishable Occupied Territory/ies.
Government: Chiefdom Commonwealth.
(1134) Leader(s): Glavni (Chief) Sebastijana | Supruga (Wife) Branimira.
(1134) Intended Successor: Demalie.
National Language(s): Hrvat.
National Religion: Zeleni Polytheism.
Natural Abilities: Flight by wings, hypersensitive olfactory sense.
Overworld. Southern islands and southern mainland. Engaged in trade with De Aquamarijnen, Y Pinc, Le Viole, Galbenii, Les Oranges.
Territorial Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): Omiljeno Vrijeme Majke, being a comparatively small territory, was overtaken by Darkness very quickly. Glavni Sebastijana, Supruga Branimira and their successor Demalie were forced to fight their own people and instead surrendered, not wanting to fight familiar faces. Many ran from the forests but did not get far. The only known survivor in decades was Soren Šuma, a young man who ran when he was a boy and hid under ground, discovered by Sir Light. Šuma unfortunately passed at Void’s hand while on a mission with the Third Hero, Aquamarijn Elite Clifford Calder, Sir Light, and Professor Cortés. Both the Zeleni Forests and the Galbenii Kingdoms are so overrun with Darkness that it is unsafe to traverse them and likely never will be safe.
Population: EXTINCT.
De Filii Aquamarijnen
Gifted armored scales, tails for balance, ears unlike any other Filius, and eyes that pierce the darkness to assist them in their habitat.
HEERLIJKHEID (Glory) is legally recognized as Empirical Power/s.

National Religion: Modern Originism.
Natural Abilities: Transformation, underwater vision, some have sharp teeth or sharp fins, manipulation of liquid,
Overworld. All oceans, most of the population is located in the Blackness. Engaged in trade with Zeleni, Galbenii, and Y Pinc.
Empirical Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): The empire was picked apart by the Soul Brothers as one of the very first. They began with Central Heerlijkheid where lived the emperor’s family. Though they were encouraged to leave, both Keizer Ignaas and Keizerin Adelheid were destroyed in their own capital. Hundreds of thousands of Filii Aquamarijn fled to the surface world, where on the beaches, they were met with the Ruined One. General Athena Proxima was instructed to keep the very young Kroonprins—now Keizer— Vincent Kramer safe, and she did for several weeks with the help of her Elites. However, as the new acting leader of the Filii Aquamarijn, an assassination by skulk was sent out for the general while they traveled to the Last Kingdom. It failed, but the mindless thing managed to get its hands on several other innocents as well as Keizer Vincent, and they all were slain. The rest of the Filii Aquamarijn made it safely to the Last Kingdom with General Proxima as their representative on the council and Elite Aaron Calder as her successor.
Population: 100-150 estimated. Many more are suspected to be scattered across the Overworld. 106 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.
The Filii Blue
Gifted eyes and wings and feathers and rings that pepper their body more than should be necessary.
THE GUARDS are legally recognized as Foreign Entity/ies.

The Middle World.
Middle World Post-Soulstice (1152): UNKNOWN.
Population: Indeterminable. Presumed EXTINCT.
De Filii Lila
Gifted the manipulation of magic unlike any of the other Filii with markings upon their skin.
PHANTASIENS UNDERVERK (Phantasia’s Wonders) are legally recognized as Foreign Entity/ies.

(1134) Intended Royal Successor: UNKNOWN.
National Language(s): Svenska, English.

Phantasia’s Realm.
Phantasia’s Realm Post-Soulstice (1152): Abandoned. The birthplace of the Soulstice itself was first to be torn apart. The king is now a man by the name of Einarr Förlorat. Only deemed as such because he is the only known survivor.
Population: 1.
Le Filii Viole
Gifted the ability to grow plants from any opening found in the skin (such as pores, nostrils, mouths, ears, hair seed sites, etc) when objectively positive emotions are felt.
AMORE MIO (My Love) is legally recognized as Prominent City-State/s.
Government: Chiefdom Commonwealth.

National Religion: New Originism.
Natural Abilities: Spontaneously growing flora, creating ‘Love Potions’, identifying ‘soulmates’.
Overworld. Mainland’s southeastern forests. Engaged in trade with Los Rojos, Galbenii, Zeleni, and Y Pinc.
City-State Territorial Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): Both Amore Mio and Palas Meddwl were, bizarrely, very intentional targets of the Soulstice, but there was certainly more fury targeted toward the Filii Violetto. The only remnants of their many villages and monuments are enormous craters and certain items—like bricks or pottery—that were preserved though Darkness that arrived from Ordin and through northern Zelena Forests. One of very few survivors was the scholar Amadeo Alessandro who had been traveling the known world at the time of the Soulstice. When he returned to his home village, he found it recently destroyed and slowly being withered by the Darkness. He discovered the body of his Lover among many, the son of Capo Lorenzo and Capo Juliet, Pietro Cielo. Cielo hadn’t quite died, so the two managed to share parting words. But nothing more. Alessandro somehow found his way to the Last Kingdom and was given a seat upon TLK’s council, given his connection to the previous chiefs and training in leadership. He is said to have never smiled and been somewhat unstable.
Population: ~40-70 speculated. 26 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.
Y Filii Pinc
Gifted the physical abilities of many, many different kinds of wild beasts.
PALAS MEDDWL (Palace of Thought) is legally recognized as Prominent City-State/s.
Government: Chiefdom Commonwealth.
(1134) Leader(s): Prif (Chief) Iwan Gaius | Prif (Chief) Fionn Gaius.
(1134) Intended Successor: Prif (Chief) Vaughn Gaius.
National Language(s): Cymraeg, English, italiano.
National Religion: New Originism.
Natural Abilities: Animal features VARY between individuals, mind reading, memory manipulation/access.
Overworld. Mainland’s southeastern forests. Engaged in trade with Le Viole, Los Rojos, Galbenii, Zeleni.
City-State Territorial Overview Post-Soulstice (1152): Palas Meddwl and Amore Mio were targeted many years after the Soulstice initially happened in the north. However, before the Soul Brothers even arrived at Palas Meddwl, Darkness had spread over from Amore Mio, affecting even Prif Fionn and Prif Iwan Gaius. To escape, the young Chief Vaughn acted in instinct against a threat. He grabbed the nearest sharp object, one of his fathers’ fallen crowns, and killed his parents with it. He fled Palas Meddwl and made his way to the Last Kingdom, taking his seat as representative of the Filii Pinc among TLK’s council, the youngest leader, and the only known Filius Pinc still alive.
Population: Indeterminable. 1 counted in the last kingdom-wide census.

the nature of thinking about the later ghost story books is that i inevitably get plagued by fiverthoughts it’s happening right now i can feel it happening right now and i can’t even be mad that it’s distracting me from the current plot bc like. oh my god. ohhhh my god. the thing about fiver is that he is simultaneously very false and deeply, achingly, sincere in basically everything he does. like every third word out of that man’s mouth is just a plain bald-faced lie that he tells with total confidence while fully aware that he’s lying and what impact it will have, but at the same time he’s only motivated by his emotions, and he feels everything to an extreme degree. he’s interesting to write bc he really truly does NOT have any ulterior motives or greater plan he’s working towards despite keeping so many plot-relevant secrets and being so cagey about his past. in reality his primary motivation is just how much he wants absolutely NOTHING to do with any of the larger plot. he sees an event that feels like it will have consequences for the world at large and starts sprinting in the opposite direction he is! not! looking! he does! not! fucking! see! it!!!! after [REDACTED] happened and he started getting visions he did everything in his power to avoid anything that might feature in them and steer others away from those outcomes. he believes he can build a place that the world won’t be able to touch where him and the people he loves will be safe and he will draw any blind bolt any door ignore any sign twist any truth to make it happen!!!! that’s the only reason he does it. that’s literally all he wants. and idk i know i’m the one writing him but i can’t decide whether that makes the whole situation better or so much worse.

I love making OCs, and this rewrite will inevitably have a lot of them, or at least a good handful of them. I'll write out a list and make little blurbs for each of them—the skeleton of the characters, if you will! Aleron/Morgan le Fay: The main protagonist of the rewrite that's a celestial-faerie hybrid. She's the former princess of the Kingdom of Tintagel that becomes a traveling mage that lives for thousands of years. She's the oldest companion of Meliodas and the main alchemist/doctor of the group. Also the stocker of the Boar's Hat. Prior to that, she's usually the royal court mage of kingdoms. Rhiannon/Igraine Pendragon: The mother of Aleron, the wife of Gorlois and the older sister of Avalon. Once was considered the best of the Goddess mages, but she died during the war. She gets reincarnated as Igraine le Fay many, many centuries later and marries Uther Pendragon to have their son, Arthur Pendragon. The memories of her past are restored early in her life, and she was the one who hired Aleron as her own personal royal court mage—a counter to Merlin and simply to have her daughter from another life closer to her. Gorlois: The father of Aleron and the husband of Rhiannon. He was once remarked as a great king, and a remarkable battle tactician. He was friends with Gloxinia until the faerie king deflected to the demons. Gorlois survived the war and died when he reached old age. Avalon: The younger sister of the dearly departed Rhiannon. A Goddess warrior that lives and breathes the path of the blade. She sealed her soul in the body of birds, living on for thousands of years. She harbors a deep hatred for demons. Eventually, she wound up in a pet shop in the Kingdom of Rheged and purchased by King Urien due to her beautiful feathers. Bavmorda: One of the best mages around. She was one of the many teachers Aleron has had. Not much is known about her, but she has a deep seated fear of her former student and vowed to kill her. Kilia: The younger sister of Ban, and a beast-man. She was thought to be dead when Ban couldn't find her, but she miraculously survived thanks to unlocking her ability to shapeshift into a human. Kilia lives on to prosper and eventually leaves Ravens behind to pursue a career in helping others, like how her big brother always did for her. She'll either become a nurse or a schoolmaster for young children. Shivani: A vampire that acts on her own. Not trusting Izraf, she deflected to build her own kingdom of vampires. She tries to marry a human king the same time Aleron became the royal court mage in the same kingdom. Eventually, they go from enemies to frenemies (She was once fused with Kilia as a character, but I decided last minute it's better if they were two separate ones). Urien Rheged: The human king of Rheged and the younger brother of King Lot of Lothian. He hired Aleron as a royal court mage, and finds himself going through the seven stages of grief when he's charmed by the stoic mage who could care less about the human. It's a one-sided hate-love relationship. He disliked Arthur Pendragon when he first ascended to the throne, but eventually became one of his closest allies and friends, often involving himself in any wars or affairs with Camelot. Dinah: A mischievous beast-man crow that Aleron saved from hunters a decade before the main story. She becomes loyal to the hybrid and refers to her often as master, even though Aleron told her many times not to call her that. Usually she stays a small crow and perches on Aleron's shoulder or staff, opting to stick with the mage at all times. She becomes the unofficial familiar of the mage.

Now that I'm finishing up Project: New Moon (previously Sonic Eclipse)(do I have to keep saying that at this point) I've been thinking abt 2 things
1. Whether I should post it or not (I really want to but also. Fear) and
2. How I'm gonna go about doing so
Bc for Sonic Eclipse I planned to have it on a separate blog and post it on a schedule, and then basically turn it into an ask blog/au side blog where I post other things related to the au once it's all out. But now Project: New Moon is a lot shorter than I envisioned Eclipse to be, and idk if I have the energy to fully commit to a whole other blog (especially with the ask blog portion of it, considering how it's going with my current rp/ask blog.....)
But my main is a bit too unorganized to just post it here I think so I might make a new blog for it anyway. Just not do the ask blog portion or something. Again idk
Still need to finish the final chapter and edit everything soooo that's future me's problem lol

emmanuel & yeshua, a timeline.
i. yeshua is born a carpenter's son. nobody knows him yet. few know of his coming. emmanuel leaves a wool blanket outside the door to keep the child warm at night.
ii. the child grows. not unlike other children. still, emmanuel keeps him in sight because he knows what is to become of his story, his role, and something about it doesn't quite sit right. just a child, he thinks. like any other. (the child calls to him one day, invites him to play. emmanuel approaches. he doesn't speak a word, but he does heed the game.)
iii. the child grows into a smart young man. good with his hands, better with his words. knowledgable not from books but from observation. not through his mind but through his heart. calling out injustice where he sees it, getting in trouble for it. emmanuel always comes when he calls, though yeshua never asks for anything besides company. emmanuel mostly stays quiet, while yeshua speaks. many-a-night in holding cells are spent with yeshua's quiet voice relying wisdoms of the world and jokes alike.
iv. more come to listen. not the great many that hang over yeshua's head that emmanuel knows of, but a few. disciples. some older, some younger. human. closer to him. still yeshua never forgets his oldest friends. still does he turn to him when he makes his punchline, still does he catch his smile before anyone else does. he was the one who taught him to smile, after all.
v. it's the end. emmanuel knows it before yeshua does, and though he knows it to be imminent, he for once wishes he could interject. he doesn't, though he does tell him the truth under the whispering trees of the garden. whispering, holding his face. for the first time, yeshua is quiet. emmanuel holds him when he cries. emmanuel kisses his temple, emmanuel holds his hand for as long as he may before yeshua sends him away.
vi. the rest emmanuel follows at a distance. company is all his friend asked for and he wants to be sure that if yeshua's eyes move to the crowd, there will always be at least a pair of eyes looking back with love. he weeps that day. the man who taught him to smile, to laugh, taught him to cry as well.
vii. he is the one to hold his soul in the palm of his head, pouring it in the great well of eternity. there's peace to it, but there's also pain. it's right about there where emmanuel, for the first time, truly understands what it is to be human. where it starts and where it ends. and how does it feel to be left behind from it all.

Just realized I forgot to post these
#keese draws#oc art#oc#ocs#these guys are from the same story as the grape twins btw#root beer is their cousin and one of the four main characters#dragons beard is merlot's boyfriend and fellow antagonist#and lemon taffy is the older sibling of one of the other main characters who spends most of the story 'kidnapped'#and by kidnapped I mean the super villain polycule asked them if they could help them with some tests and they went 👍#important context! lemon taffy (and their two siblings) are the kids of three superheroes and merlot and fox grape are the kids of four#supervillains both of which are mostly absent for the main story (although the supervillains at least get to be more of side characters)#the heroes are off in space dealing with alien political drama that doesn't matter to the main plot#the two groups have a fairly casual rivalry but they still have genuine beef#merlot and fox grape were left home alone after their parents set out to work on some big project and merlot took the chance to go fuck#off and get a boyfriend to do crime with leaving fox grape desperately trying to find them and get them to come back home#and for the other side root beer was roped into helping rescue lemon taffy by their two younger siblings pop rock and jelly bean#he and pop rock are the main duo on that side with jelly bean being their guy in the chair#merlot and dragons beard are mostly antagonists to those three with fox grape and the other main guy cayenne pepper chasing after them#cayenne is dragon beards childhood friend and I have never drawn him before despite adoring him 😔#hes such a piece of shit I love him#in my old original concepts for him he was going to be an incel but then my brain went but what if. aro. and I instantly hard committed#hes a bitchy asshole who's made all the more annoying by the fact that his anxieties are low key completely justified#hes a sad wet cat abandoned in a cardboard box all alone 😔#oh yeah also worth noting that root beer is a vampire who has a strained relationship with his adoptive dads#oh and dragons beard's parents are a dragon and a royal fae so he has a lot of power that he doesnt know how to use lol#lemon taffy is like. sort of part dragon in a very distant way? their grandma was a failed revival of an old god who was a dragon who made#their dad out of her own magic which included that same magic from the dragon god who was basically made of magic#so he was also sort of part dragon but not really? idk its complicated#merlot and fox grape are miraculously not part dragon somehow despite my track record of making too many ppl dragons in this world#they are however vampires and also directly decend from a god so thats fun

ngl it sort of pisses me off the way adults regard Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen at times. Which could be a very interesting and poignant point in a good way if well written, but as it is it becomes mainly just frustrating and sad in a negative way.
Nanami saying Gojo never cared about anything or anyone other than himself crashes interestingly with Kusakabe saying the whole situation was just all his fault because he refused to kill Itadori. The students are very aware of those aspects of Gojo's personality, but overall they seem to regard him with way more kindness and fondness even when at their rudest, not truly coinciding with either Nanami's or Kusakabe's views.
#Kusakabe's words are harsh and negative but there's some true and some logic to them#but in beholding the entire story and the whole context‚ especially with the flashbacks in mind‚ in getting to know the sweet kid Yuuji is‚#the reader is made to find Kusakabe's words a bit outrageous and cruel and Gojo's position becomes the obvious one like Nanami's was#Like Kusakabe's is too in a way since he too says no matter what it's always the adults' fault whatever the cause was#And following the story we see Gojo cared a lot about those kids and them keeping their youthful cheerfulness if in his very flippant way#That's basically his main constant thread. We see it at the very beginning in what he did for Yuta and how Yuta is so fond of him#We see him at the very end in a way too with the letters he left#And his entire motivation was changing the very messed up society to avoid the kids going through what he and his friends went through#and to prevent them from being lonely the way he felt he was. Ontologically alienated. Entirely othered#And of course it's in part him keeping people away like Shoko. Or even Yuta (though here again it's at the core of his action his attempt#at protecting the kids and trying to prevent them from growing too fast)#And of course this is motivated by his own experiences and in that sense not entirely a selfless act#But those things still don't negate that his goal was for the future kids to be... in a better situation than what he and his friends lived#So Nanami's words are very cruel and... blind. Of course it's possible that Gojo's way of approaching the problem is still something#Nanami would regard as selfish (but it could be argued that so is Nanami's)‚ or that Gojo's perception of Nanami's way of thinking#about him would be this negative. But what we see through the story absolutely contradict Nanami's words in that airport#And though both Nanami's words and Kusakabe's are negative in regards to Gojo‚ they in a way contradict each other#The kids' words and way of seeing Gojo is most of the time more... accurate? If also diverse among them#They see him like an idiot. They trust him. They think he's childish and annoying. They love him#They find him flippant. They know he cares about them. In a way they see both what Kusakabe and Nanami say about him#The negative. And the ultimate positive aspect at the core of it all. That Gojo did care and that Gojo did take care#and that Gojo risked and sacrificed a lot for them and that Gojo was doing this in great part because of his own past#Yuta perhaps is the one who sees it best but it's so interesting too the dynamic Maki‚ Yuuji and Megumi have with Gojo‚ his acts and antics#And this whole thing‚ this frivolous and even... cruel way most adults seem to regard Gojo and how it clashes with the kids' deep feelings#about him (beyond the initial 'he's an untrustworthy idiot' though those as well!') is super interesting and super sad and super juicy#OR IT COULD BE bc in the end all that happens is that Nanami says that and Gojo pouts comically or that Kusakabe makes that offhand comment#as if it held no weight‚ as if Yuji weren't present and had never agonised over it‚ as if Gojo hadn't lost his life trying to save the kid#And yes he risked more than his life but he was trying to save a kid bc another kid (bc Megumi!) asked. But maybe it didn't matter if no one#asked. He saved Yuta too. Of course he would have risked it all. In his mix of selfishness and selflessness. Everything is so juicy#yet the writing feels so dry and lame. There's no pondering. There's talk of guilt and grief without any true sense of grieving or loss

also marble hornets fun fact #92 like it's fun that for once the neurotypical agenda accidentally got a win: when in that s1 "interview" episode apparently there was no particular plan to have tim be a recurring character before a strong audience response of speculation that there must be something more going on with this guy because his fidgeting with a notebook all throughout the video was indication of Liar's Anxiety or whatever; in reality tim sutton was not making any acting choice (to serve then-nonexistent writing) but was spontaneously being someone often fidgeting with paper. then call that unfolding developments
#i don't know much about how s2 / 3 were written save that even as s1 was most fully like fly by the seat of their pants#and obviously not really having chronology / plot focus until even a ways into it#they still did not like have everything nailed down as a story going into s2 or anything like that / were writing Along The Way#though regarding ''no way in the initial decision to have tim Recur did they go 'he will eventually be our protagonist'''#i do think i remember their saying that jay dying was like something decided on relatively early. for [every reason] lmao#just not great at this....it's Just like winston billions in here except also the opposite of that#[one-off character is easily read as just existing a bit nd style; chilling] oh you mean their Malicious Nature?#however though i similarly think the logic / payoff according to their own setup would have been wendy exploding into atoms#they were definitely Not interested in swapping out who gets to be leading this thing no matter what. unto the end#then shoutout to actor tim organically tripping in his Next first appearance but to superior effect lol#wow it's just like that one clip from that one movie. lol that i could actually find it but I Dunno About That Video Title Abbreviation#marble hornets#anyways point is it was Just organic fidgeting b/c of that being something someone does#and then Suspicion that that Must mean he's got Secrets was what was like oh maybe we gotta bring this guy into it lol#and that at first indeed it was maybe like Simply Sinister Secrets but then it's like well he's the main character now. enjoy#and that one guy is tim sutton's dad cameo we gotta get one of those#and in both cases;

that's right bitches it's time for the daily joe post, i love how much joe is not supposed to be part of this. he's not supposed to have an influence on the plot. the gods themselves don't even consider him to be a factor based on the knowledge they have. and yet !!! he ends up vitally important to the best possible path they all can take. he is not supposed to be this major of an influence, he's literally just some cunt that works here, and then. and then we get to chapter 12 and we get to see another version of him that really proves just how much him being an unknown variable can fuck with things. this other version of him had so much influence over where the story could go, he destroyed the chance at the prophecy ever becoming true and had to be sent to Another Universe just to keep that world safe. THIS GUY. SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS MUCH POWER HERE. but he does, because he was not accounted for. he does because nobody thought he was part of this in a way that mattered. HE didn't even think he was part of this in a way that mattered. he just works here
