Been thinking about how Donnie and Leo’s insecurities juxtapose each other.

Donnie is insecure about his place in the family, but confident in who he is outside of it.

Leo is secure about being a part of the family, but thinks he’s nothing outside of it.

I think it’s a very interesting comparison that reflects their respective personalities, Donnie’s “Will all I have to offer be enough?” versus Leo’s “Do I even have anything else to offer?”

Danny Phantom and… Naruto crossover? Yep. 

Because Uzumakis? Canonically bat shit insane. Will look at Death and laugh. Probably invite them to dinner. Will create things just because they can, with no care for what types of rules of reality they are actively breaking. Will take a look at those rules as suggestions. 

And Uzu? An entire island nation who got slaughtered, who were betrayed. They have Unfinished Business! Things to DO! Projects to FINISH! Descendents to FIND! If they can find a way from this green place! 

And then? There is a child. Like, if someone took the appearance of an Uchiha and gave them the disposition of one of them. He is Lost. Was following a map, that they all wanna grab because oooh they wanna learn how it works and make their Own! Sentient Map! Give! 

But? The child? Mentions that some ghosts can break through the bounds of this reality? Can get back to the land of the living? They just need? To figure out which direction to go in? And anyone knows, you give the Uzumakis even the slightest chance of success, and they will all take hold like a small angry dog. 

It is Chaos. The dead have risen. The entire Uzumaki clan are back- again! Unkillable! Can fly! Can go through walls. Invisible! And that’s just the basics! They are vicious, petty, angry bastards that need no sleep! Will be taking all their stolen stuff back now!

Have formed an alliance with the Uchiha ghosts, who are pissed. It is an unholy thing of explosions and spite.

I think a lot about Leo’s tendency to push his way into the spotlight despite clearly being a natural in the shadows. Hell, you could argue that his worst moments are when he’s forcing himself onstage, and his best are when he does things no one notices until it’s already been done.

So I did a commission a week or so ago and it was for magical mid-twenties Mikey crying golden tears. Well I had a first draft sketch that I loved too much to discard, so I turned it into a full art piece and I really liked it so here ya go kiddies eat up the free food

Thinking about yokai fashion and the adaptations the mutants have to get used to post mutation.

Repos sleeves either have elastic in them to stretch them over his claws, are sleeveless, or have some sorta velcro to aid with his lack of hands. I’ve mentioned before he has a kid in this au, his son definitely helps get his bracelets/necklaces on bc sometimes you just need a guy to help out!

Sando Brothers also do this. They get those tanktops with huge holes for sleeves/most the side cut out I feel. They’d also probably help each other out a lot.

I can see their being magical aid based items for yokai who dont have typical hands. Like I’m thinking of the accessibility for yokai based fashion a lot. Like wide sleeves, no sleeves, tube tops etc etc. Like instead of typical human velcro its magical sigils or something like that.

Am I basing this somewhat on my own worsening mobility issues in my hands and the fact some days I struggle to button my PPE gear at work due to the weak muscles/grip strength I have? Yes, yes I am.

Artist note:

When I first heard that the Rise boy’s have two long lost sisters. My first thought was they were Venus and Jennika. I had thought about how they’ll be introduced in my version until a Q&A interview with the creator on Twitter. One of their sisters work for Big Mama and he suggested her name was going to be Frida or something like. He wanted to name them after female artist. And the other sister was going to be lost in other dimension. Because of this I rethought the boy’s sisters. Another reason to the change of sisters, which is lame and you might hate me for, I later didn’t know or really care for Venus and Jennika. Instead I replace them with an original character, Frida, and brought back their human sister, Miwa, who is also their half-sister.

Originally, Miwa was plan to be mutated as a turtle, obviously I scrapped it. She isn’t a long lost sister, she a bonus or a surprise sister. Splinter didn’t knew he has a daughter with his ex-wife, Tang Shen, until she randomly showed up in the lair saying she’s his daughter.

Originally, Venus de Magic, the statue that the boys saw in the Magic Town House. Was supposed to be Venus de Milo. She was going to have illusion nippo that allowed her to disguise and live among the human. But that was scrapped, however the illusion nippo was kept for Frida along wither her tessen. Frida is the assistant that works for Big Mama, well in my version she’s actually Big Mama’s adoptive daughter, Olivier, assistant.

i think saizo having an actual magic stat is so funny. like why did they do that. why is it so high. realistically, he probably learned magic to set off his stupid bombs or whatever he has more efficiency, but i think as soon as people learn about it, it just starts getting used for bullshit. he does fire magic performances to entertain the hoshidan royals like a jester. orochi and laslow make him part of their fireworks show. asugi makes him use it to help him bake because its faster than an oven. he can say no to all of these things but he doesnt because look at that man. you think he can resist the lure of setting shit on fire? no. bonfires are a regular event at his insistence
