tries to write a little creature and gets distracted for two hours analyzing staves from the manga for like. literally two paragraphs in the opening that are just supposed to help set the scene i hate it here

#a little creature #possamble #if anyone cares. it seems like gnomish magic users have some sort of circle/loosely enclosed space at the end of the staff #that involves metal at least a little #eg. rin's metal staff / all of falin's staves that weren't straight up maces / etc.#ironically most of the actual gnomes that appear don't use staves and seem to be free casters or spirit users #whereas all the junior canaries we see have wooden staves with a slight crook but no enclosure #(and all the extremely experienced mages have their own unique arcane focus or are free casters)#the only magic users we see that have a wooden staff with a circular head are marcille and fionil... the only two half elves we see #which possibly sets the really interesting implication that fionil might also be a hybrid caster who uses both systems #ETA: i believe maizuru is the only mage we see who uses the eastern system #and she seems to fall into the spirit user/unique arcane foci (paper) category for understandable reasons #though i do wonder what non-ninja magic looks like over there #since i get the feeling that she's a highly espionage-focused and specialized mage

This was heavily (completely) inspired by “a little creature who loves you” by wtfoctogon on ao3 (@wtfoctagon/@possamble on here) and the way they write falin. The second i saw this quote i thought of falin and their story. When i asked if it would be ok to post this they said its the same quote they had in mind when writing her😂 Sadly i am not the genius i think i am, wtfoctogon is just that good at creating such a beautiful and clear picture of falin. I cant imagine there’s very many of you who haven’t, but if you like farcille and haven’t been reading this story you should drop everything and go read it right this second

Hey besties stumbled onto a fuckin amazing Farcille fic by @possamble called A Little Creature who Loves you and uh... Yeah it's fuckin amazing! It's a little on hiatus for like a month from now or so cause author is busy but I still 100% recommend it

All of my work is just "Putting Marcille in agony" and there's a dial that swings between "emotionally" and "sexually" depending on the hour
