"God and I'm supposed to be the evil one?" The villain chuckled to herself, the 3rd margarita at the Islands restaurant they'd settled on causing a wave of giddiness. The situation was absurd from her perspective. Hours ago, she was frantically looking to escape from her latest evil plan blowing up in her face and now her nemesis was tearing into a teriyaki burger with fries and a comically sized glass of Blue Moon discussing a partnership. Out of all her Machiavellian machinations, she never would have expected this outcome in a million simulations.
"Hey if you're asking me to move to the Bay Area to be closer to HQ, I'm gonna need to be able to keep up with the Joneses. I wasn't the one who needed the relocation so bad, remember?", the fallen hero said, wiping teriyaki sauce off chin.
"it's just- that's like 3 times the median salary for most of my henchmen."
"To be fair, I knocked out like every single one of those henchmen the last time I defeated you. It's not like I'm not bringing a lot to the table here", he said, gesturing with a ketchup covered steak fry.
"And I respect that, but I would be a bit more flush with resources to throw around if SOMEONE, and I'm not saying who, hadn't destroyed years of Death Ray R&D, not to mention the millions of dollars of equipment that exploded. See my problem here?" She was trying very hard to hold onto the mask of scientific objectivity that served her well in the mad sciences, but it was hard to keep the bitterness of defeat out of her tone.
"Fair, but we wouldn't be here discussing this in the first place if you had destroyed the world like you planned to. So there's that." The Fallen Hero had mostly finished his plate, sopping up the last of the ketchup with the few remaining fries. "But be that as it may, I'm not switching sides just to be poor for someone else. I'm talking about being a right hand man, a partner, not just some henchman.
The scientist nearly snorted into her French Dip. Was he serious? "Look, don't get me wrong the fact that you can take out an entire facility full of armed guards is impressive, but is it six figures impressive? Really? Hell if I wanted to I could clone you and have a dozen yous running around punching things."
"Alright, first of all, rude. Don't just tell a guy you're thinking of cloning him. That's just bad manners. Second, would these clones of you have valuable Intel regarding the Heroes Council?", he said, washing down the last swig of beer from his plastic stein glass.
It was hard to keep a straight face at that, but she did. She had been caught off guard by this turn of events, and hadn't expected the fallen hero to come at her with all the angles covered. OF COURSE she wanted the intel on her greatest enemies, but she had been hoping to low-ball him and then weasel info out of him for free as soon as he got comfortable. But he was asking for a quarter million per year, full healthcare coverage, including dental and vision, and a 401k pension with matching contributions. Hell, even SHE didn't have a 401k. She'd had to swindle despots and monsters with more money than sense in order to fund her latest projects and she was still grappling with how to tell them that not only had she appropriated the death Ray they'd commissioned, but also was seriously considering hiring the guy who'd blown it all up. It had been an interesting 24 hours, to say the least.
The Fallen hero noticed the mad scientist had paused for a beat too long and waved a hand in her direction. "Doc, you still there? Hello?"
Curses, he noticed my hesitation. No use trying to hide it now. " I can offer you the salary and the healthcare coverage, but the 401k is completely out of the question," she said, matter of factly.
The former hero stuck out his hand to shake. " You put that in writing, we've got ourselves a deal. I got the feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership."
The villain gives their customary âjoin me and we can be greatâ speech. The hero accepts.

Rebellion of the bats
Ok, hereâs another one thatâs going to get a little wacky. As a reminder never look for canon here, for I do not know her.Â
We are going to start today's madness with some build up before the main event. It is important to me that you understand that in this one, Tim Drake does not take after Bruce Wayne. Tim Drake takes after Alfred (feral planners, whose truest love and calling is to care for their loved ones, coated in a veneer of respectability). In fact it is Alfred who teaches Bruce how to prepare for any eventuality.Â
And the Tim of this universe is prepared for any eventuality. Including having a plan for âJason has come back from the dead, has been lied to, appears to hate the family, and is trying to attack me for taking Robinâ. So Jason attacks Titanâs Tower and is very surprised to find that, instead of beating up Robin, he finds himself being dragged back to that Manor by an excited Tim Drake (No matter how long or short after the fact, Jason is still not sure how they got from Jason wanting to beat up a teen to being convinced to come home).Â
Jason, Dick, and Bruce all bond over the abrupt realization that Alfred and Tim are absolutely feral and that if either decided to go rogue the universe was screwed. They also realize that it is part of their Vigilante assigned duty to keep Both Tim and Alfred from needing to take over the world.
This helps stabilize the relationships among the Batfam, this common goal. So by the time Damian arrives, their relationships are much stronger. Bruce, Dick, Steph, Cass, and Jason each try to talk Damian out of his assassination attempts (more for Damianâs health than Tims). Tim, because Damian is now his brother and is 10 years old, allows Damian two assaination attempts without consequence. Damianâs third, and final, attempt ended with a finger broken on Damianâs non-dominant handâŚand no proof that Tim caused it.Â
Because of this stronger, more stable relationship Tim was actually able to pass Robin on to Damian before the Darksied happened. Tim took up Red Robin with Jasonâs approval.Â
Darksied sends Bruce on his bounce through time. There are still rumblings of what could become a war for the cowl (including Cass, this time because grief can do weird things to people and I think she should get to throw her hand into the ring), but instead Tim finds the clues Bruce had been leaving. And this is where the biggest departure comes.Â
Because all of the Bats are there, and they believe Tim. They have no reason not to (I will get to that in just a minute). In fact, they all treat this revelation as a relief and begin to work out a schedule for keeping up the Batman pretense until Bruce can be retrieved.Â
Dick as Batman goes to the Justice League (during a JL meeting) with the news that Bruce is lost in time, and they need substantial Justice League resources (and realistically it would need to be substantial and/or unique resources, or Tim would have used WE industries or his own resources) to retrieve him. And look, Dick looked at none of Timâs evidence so when asked how the Bats know, Dick as Batman answers immediately with âOh, Red Robin saidâ.Â
The other members of the Justice League glanced at each other. It is Diana that very gently brings up that Wonder Girl had told her that Red Robin had been very intent on cloning Superboy, trying to avoid outright saying that it seemed like Tim might have lost touch with reality in his grief. Everyone very kindly ignored Supermanâs flinch at the mention of both his dead mentee and cloning.Â
The Justice League gets to watch as Dick misses the point so completely that they can practically see it over the pointy ears of his cowl. He actually perks up and goes âOh yeah, he mentioned having Ivy check over his methodology for that. She said it looked good but her specialty is plant geneticsâ. Like that is not an objectively insane thing to say.Â
From Dicks, and in fact most if not all people who spend enough time in Gotham, perspective Tim was not insane for his attempts to clone Conner. He had a plan to mitigate harm for innocents (potentially viable clones who were not Conner), was not attacking/involving other people, had another affiliated expert look at his work before he pushed the big red button, and he even stopped when it was pointed out that it would have been against Conner wishes. To a Gothamite that means Tim is practically reasonable in his 99 attempts to clone Conner.Â
The Justice League can only conclude, after some carefully phrased questions, that the Batfam have unfortunately lost touch with reality due to grief, understandable grief but also very out of touch. Dick does not realize this is what is being thought, as he is just so relieved that they are on track to get Bruce back that he does not hear the incredulity in the questions, until a majority vote rejects the use of JL resources for the purpose of searching for the former Batman in time (it should be noted that The Flash-Barry- and Superman both voted to try. Diana abstained). Â
We are going with the idea that it is more than just massive resources or expertise that the JL would provide, but some resource, item, or device, that is unique to the Justice League that cannot be procured by any individual member.Â
So Dick has to go back to 3 family members (Jason, Cass, Damian) who have all had significant exposure to Lazarus water, which is known for emotional outburst overriding common sense, Steph the daughter of a supervillain (Arthur Brown may have been a d rate supervillain, he was still a supervillain), Barbara the all knowing Oracle (whose morals have adjusted to working with former Rogues) and her cadre of Birds of Prey, and possibly the 2 most frightening people on the planet (Tim and Alfred) with the news that the JL will not help them. This is also Dick, whose anger issues and need for revenge built Robin.Â
The only restriction that Dick manages to get them all to agree on is that they will not make trouble for Superman, Flash, or Wonder Woman (Jason throwing his own support in no trouble for Diana). Then, with full and loving knowledge of what he was doing, Dick set them all loose upon the world (making it clear to the JL that Bruce is the only one who could reign them in).Â
It takes six weeks before the decision to help find Bruce and retrieve him from the timestream is approved. In that time:
Cass and Steph become the rulers of a small country, ruling with an iron fist but enough morals that most of the populace loved them.Â
Jason, with the Outlaws, managed to take out the League of Assassins (and incidentally managed to humiliate not one but three different Green Lanterns, mostly by accident).Â
Damian met, became offended by, and dismantled a faux government organization in the midwest in possibly the most attention attacking way he could.Â
Oracle wrote and released a highly tailored virus that released random âscandalous but not overall dangerousâ secrets on a schedule for every politician in the world. Her Birds of Prey kept Gotham running, along with Batman!Dick. At some point during this time the Joker ended up dead, but no one is admitting to who did.
Tim and Alfred did indeed become a major world power within the first three weeks. It wasnât until week four that they gained nuclear power status, but quickly had a seat offered to them at the UN. They had just started considering if they should be expanding into the reaches of space when the JL capitulated.Â
Bruce is brought back into a world where his kids are more feared than he is.

GIGGLY BUG (pt2)
link to pt.1: https://www.tumblr.com/thriller1ruler/773864938651500544/giggly-bug-part-one-ler-gi-hun-lee-in-ho-an
lee: gi-hun, in-ho
ler: dae-ho, jung-bae
(A/N): hi guys!! today i made pt2 ANNDDD hopes that my english got better!! hope youll enjoyy!! so sorry if its short!! a little fun fact abt in-ho's irl actor: he squeezes his eyes alot when he laughs, which is mentioned in this fanifiction. how cute right??
-----------------------------------------------
As the morning light broke, a new day emerged, leaving behind the remnants of the one that had just passed..
In-ho woke up. the day before...felt like a dream. He experienced a sensation he hadn't felt in a long time- a sense of freedom mixed with a wave of nostalgia. It just felt weird. In-ho looked around rubing his eyes. seems like he overslept.
- 10 minutes earlier..
"gi-hun! tell me about last night! what exactly happened?? i heard you guys and you both were talking about serios things! CMON tell me please!"
"dont be so loud, you're attracting everbodies attention."
it was Jung-bae and Gi-hun. The best friend of 456 was curious if Gi-hun had any secrets to share about In-ho. Jung-bae found this guy really mysterious. He noticed them talking last night but couldn't quite catch what they were discussing before he fell asleep.
"don't you trust me??"
Gi-hun didnt know if In-ho would be mad. Sharing someones most emberassing weakness could not end good. What should he say without sounding naive?
"..." Gi-hun looked down. "he just wanted to-...pffft-! hahaha!"
"don't you dare to lie!"
Jung-bae grabbed at Gi-huns sides, all 10 fingers digging into his friends. Gi-hun forgot that he was ticklish too.
"wahihihit! dohohont!"
Seems like Jung-bae was REALLY intrested about In-ho's little secret.
"ah-ah, your still this ticklish huh?" he teased, poking at gi-huns sides playfully. "coochie coo!! hehe look at that smile, how adorable!"
gi-hun broke into rich cackles, even more cackling at jung-bae's teasing. "tell me, or yknow what will happen."
"OHOHOKAY, ehahaha! i gihihive! i gihihive!"
Jung-bae let his hands go, patting at Gi-huns back. 456 rubed at his sides, wanting the ghost tickles go away, still giggling like a 5year old.
"tell me" he said, looking directly into his eyes.
"there should be something REALLY rare if you're hiding it like this..."
Gi-hun felt nervous, trying not to think about the possible downsides of the situation.
he sighed.
"In-ho is ticklish."
..And thats where the story really began.
Jung-bae and Dae-ho were hiding under the bed, waiting for In-ho to arrive. Their objective was to create a special surprise for number 001.
"hey jung-bae..are you sure that we are gonna do this? In-ho is kinda a rough man, what if the rumor ain't true?"
"psshh, be quiet! i was as suprised as you when i heard this coming out from Gi-hun! think positive, nothing bad will happen. we have nothing else to do, why not popping things up a little then? cmon, its gonna be fun, trust me!" jung-bae told him with a little excitement.
"a little bit of laughter in this empty room would sure cheer up other people..laughter is affective, they say." he thought.
Dae-ho was a little bit worried. he wasnt in the ler mood, it was the opposite. what if he would be the next victim? as if he made this plan! "think postive! its 2 against 1! nothing bad will happen!..yes. nothing bad will happen!"
In the frontman's mind, he was searching for his new friends. He could have sworn they were sitting together and talking about various topics not a long time ago. Where could they be now?
oh, nevermind. In-ho couldn't help but let out a little chuckle. "are they hiding from me or..?" The frontman noticed them both hiding under the bed, giggling like children, believing he couldn't see them. "alright, let's play hide and seek then, I guess.."
"oh-uh he's coming towards us! it's now or never!" Dae-ho quickly alerted to his friend. "alright then..on the count of three, we will jump out and tickle him to pieces!"
"guys...is this some sort of game you are playing on me?.." In-ho said, trying to get them out of their hiding spot.
"are you ready?" jung-bae double checked. "Sir yes sir!" dae-ho said, felt like his life based on this surprise, his self-assurd rising up a little more. will this actually work?..
In-ho slowly approached the bed, where Jung-bae and Dae-ho were hiding. "what are you guys up to..?"
Without any second thought of guilt, they both slowly counted to 3.
"1."
"2."
"3...!"
Right before In-ho could get any closer, Jung-bae and Dae-ho jumped right infront of him, causing them all to fall down on the floor.
"oh-, alright the fun is done, you guys got- mEhehEhe-?!"
Just when he tought it was over, the frontman started to feel a funny sensation going trough his body,..again.
"whahahat thehehe?! nahahaha!"
"oho, you were right Jung-bae! he is ticklish!"
"told you~" he said, looking at in-ho who was laughing uncontrollably now.
"gi-hun, i swear when i catch you.." In-ho was cursing in his mind, it was morning, it aint the right time! he had to think about something else and not in the situation he is right now!..
"wahihihit! 2 agahihinst onehehe isnt fair! QUIHIHIT IT, ahahaha!"
He closed his mouth with one hand, and with the other one trying to get away with all this..tickling.
"ah-ah, where do you think you're going? nothing's gonna save you now!" jung-bae teased with a evil smirk, pulling him back again. in-ho lost it.
"i think he's about to explode..look how red he is! ah, i know! these fingers are just too much aint they??" dae-ho added.
the frontman is blushing? yh no way.
"STAHAHAP! i cahahant!..!" in-ho squeezed his eyes, his laughter going mute.
"wait, i just wanna test out one more thing..." dae-ho sounded mischievous..this wont end good.
"what if... i tickle you here?" he scribbled his fingers around in-ho's stomach. dae-ho could feel in-ho's legs kicking a little behind him, now being in a giggly mess.
"PLEHEHEASE!"
"begging already?? how naive.." jung-bae chuckled, knowing he would beg right away in the first place.
"and..what about here?" dae-ho's cold hands touched number 001's neck, scribbling softly than anything else. there was the point where in-ho screamed with laughter. He scrunched up like a turtle, squeezing his eyes more, hoping that no guard can see him right now..
"wohoo! jackpot! he got all shy!"
in-ho hasnt laughed like this for ages. since when was he this sensetive??
this will not end easy. he should think of a plan..
"HeheEHEY juhuhung-baehehe! ihihif you hehehelp me getting thihihis back on dae-hoho, ihihi will maybehehe foRGIHIHIVE yohohou! ahahaha! beHehe fast wihihith yohour thohoughts!"
oh-uh.. this is not good for dae-ho...lets wish him good luck, shall we?

and what if it's reversed, huh? what if we're the one staring off into space while we eat breakfast? we got so used to satoru offering to cook us some breakfast that we have to settle for cereal since we got no motivation to cook. he's not here and he's never coming back
cooking in the morning feels miserable when your favorite taste tester is no longer there to ââsneakilyââ steal strawberries out of the bowl (because apparently he wants strawberry-less waffles) or wrap his arms around your waist and peer over your shoulder, pressing ticklish kisses to your cheek to distract you again from your cooking :<<
you have to break the habit of grabbing two plates, pouring two cups of juice, turning around and expecting satoru to be at the table waiting for you.
one too many times your already low appetite will disappear entirely, and you end up throwing away an entire meal because you simply canât bring yourself to eat even a single bite. you opt for cerealâitâs quick and itâs slightly easier to force down, and it doesnât remind you as much of him as cooking his favorite breakfast does </3

PASSED ALL MY CLASSES YIPPEEEE
#personal#the engineering chronicles#on the one hand how the mighty have fallen etc but on the other. thank FUCK this semester is over#it wasnât even that bad objectively like if i hadnât had the musical im pretty sure this semester would have been a breeze. but w the#musical everything was so scattered i never had time to do hw and i had to skip classes to meet w ppl for group projects bc the only time#any of us were available was in the mornings except then the meetings would go later than planned and i wouldnât be able to make it to#my morning class and. etc. rehearsals till 10 like 5 times a week just did not work on in this regard. BUT WE DID IT <3 scraped a b- out of#physics w my highest test score in that class and will likely end probability w a b#<- he put in my final exam grade (88 đĽł) but there are still three labs that need to be graded so technically my grade could fall to a b- or#c+ but neither is likely#still mad abt that 60 i got on the last exam bc if i had done as well on that exam as i did every other exam for this class i could have#ended w a b+ or a- but. whatever iâm just relieved this courseload is over with. even if i will be thrown right back into everything in a#week at least there is this week for me to relax and not feel awful for failing even more classes this year lmao

Yandere First Husband Emperor Geta x Wife Reader Empress Lovestruck/Heartbroken x Yandere Second Husband Emperor Caracalla.
(I was so happy when I saw your requests were open! You're my favorite creator, I love all your works đ¤) (I love all things historical and I really fell in love with the trailer for Gladiator II and I'm looking forward to its release)
You are the wife of two emperors.
That's right, you are the wife of the emperor Geta and his brother, emperor Caracalla.
How did that happen?
Well, at first, you got married to Geta before the death of emperor Septimius Severus, but after his death, the two brothers are to share the empire.
And Caracalla had his eyes on you and wished to become your second husband, ignoring the Roman traditions.
You and their mother, Julia Domna, objected to this insane idea.
Julia Domna objected because it would be a scandal.
While you objected, because you are in love with your husband Geta and don't want to be with another man especially if that man is Caracalla.
However, your husband, Geta, agreed.
So, you got wed to Caracalla despite being already one month pregnant.
Your husband already knows, and also informed Caracalla.
"The child shall be mine"
Geta wanted to argue that he is the biological father but Caracalla shut him down.
"We both share the empire, and your wife, there is nothing wrong in sharing the baby too"
Realising the insanity of the situation, you decided to escape this madness, feeling heartbroken at how Geta is going along with all of that as if it is normal.
Your escape plan failed horribly, and you found yourself facing a betrayed looking Geta.
You stare at Geta in fear as he steps towards you slowly.
"Why have you betrayed me? when I was only trying to be the best husband for you."
"I love you from all my heart, but I cannot keep quiet anymore, I do not love Caracalla-"
Suddenly, you feel a hand grabbing your neck from behind, tightening its hold on it.
"Now now, brother, there is no need to stress our dear wife especially since she is pregnant with our child."
Your guts twist with disgust at the possessive pronoun 'our' used to state your relationship with the two emperors.
"But she needs to be punished" Geta argues angrily.
Caracalla walks up from behind you to stand beside his younger brother.
His eyes scans up your shaking body with a devious smirk.
"There are a lot of interesting ways to punish her without violence and she will be doing her duty as our wife at the same time"

Wolf Bite
Klaus Mikaelson x Reader
Summary: During a fight between your friends and Klaus and his hybrids, you get bit. A certain someone appears later to help heal your wounds and complicate your feelings. Reader uses she/her pronouns.
Warnings: Violence, fluff
Word Count: 4850
Part 2
A/N: I have been obsessing over Klaus lately and thought I would share this passion with you guys. I havenât seen TVD or TO in a while so I apologize if I get anything wrong about the lore. It doesnât follow any canon plot, just inspired by Klaus healing Carolineâs bite.
Youâre leaning against a wall in the Salvatore brothersâ house as the rest of your friends talk about their newest plan to threaten Klaus and his family. The idea seems foolish to you, but you know better than to voice your opinion. Ever since the Mikaelson clan moved to town, being a vampire has gotten a lot more complicated. Youâre suddenly not so immortal when thereâs a whole group of people out to get you and your friends.
Youâve also started to notice a shift in the group as Elena now has feelings for both Salvatores. Youâre well aware that your presence has slowly started to go unnoticed and yet here you are again. You watch as the group argues about how to lure Klaus and co. to the woods where youâll meet him.
âWhat if we send someone to his house to deliver the message?â Elena suggests. But Stefan shakes his head.
âNo, itâs too risky,â he says.
âNot if we send someone with a white oak stake for protection,â Caroline says.
âThat would ruin the plan,â Bonnie says. Thereâs a silence as the group thinks of a new idea. Until Damon speaks.
âWhat if we get Y/N to call him?â Damon says, looking at you for the first time today. Your eyes widen as the rest of the group now looks at you. As if they werenât just ignoring you.
âWhat? N-no way,â you say, not prepared to be put on the spot.
âCome on, heâs clearly shown an interest in you. Nowâs the time to use that,â he argues. Itâs true. Ever since you first met, Klaus seems to have taken a liking to you. But you think the groupâs making it a bigger deal than it is. You think he just does it as a way to annoy the group. Though why he chose you instead of someone like Caroline or Bonnie, youâll never know.Â
âI donât want to do that,â you say, not wanting to explain exactly why. Youâre not even quite sure yourself. âBesides, it probably wonât work. I mean, I donât even have his phone number.â
âOh right,â Damon says, furrowing his eyebrows as you throw a retch in his plan.
âYou could deliver the message in person,â Caroline suggests. Your jaw almost drops.
âWait, so itâs too risky if someone else goes to the house, but not me?â
âCome on, he wonât hurt you,â Damon says. Youâre beginning to think being a wallflower was the better option.
âWe all have to help, Y/N,â Elena says. You choke on your words as you look around, seeing no one objecting to this plan.
âWait, you guys my message spell!â Bonnie exclaims. Everyone turns to her and you are relieved to be out of the spotlight as you lean back against the wall. âI need paper, something to write with, and something of Klausâs.â
Though you are currently mad at all of them, you decide youâre mad at Bonnie the least so you open your bag. Youâre able to scrounge up the materials, even something of Klausâs (you didnât ask). With the necessary ingredients, Bonnie performs her spell and the written note lights on fire before quickly disintegrating. She opens her eyes.
âThat should do it,â she says.
âWe should go,â Elena says and everyone agrees.
â â â
The group is waiting in the woods for Klaus to appear, as is expressed in the letter. Another argument broke out on the way here as to who will get the white oak stake as you only brought one to threaten Klaus with. The group didnât want to risk any of the other stakes. In the end, Damon won the argument as he reminded Stefan his responsibility was to look out for Elena, which she did not like. The rest of you are armed with regular stakes just in case anything happens.
âWhen is he going to get here?â Caroline says, though no one answers as no one knows. âI mean, how can he even find us? Weâre in the middle of the woods!â
âHe can probably track us by seeking out Elenaâs blood,â Damon says which angers Elena. Sometimes you feel bad for her being the only human amongst the group (other than Matt), and other times you envy her for it.
When the group is about ready to give up, you hear something coming. The other vampires can hear it too and you ready yourselves. Soon enough, Klaus stands before you with a smile on his face. âWell, well, isnât this a nice surprise? I hadnât realized we were pen pals,â the Original says. His eyes rake over the group and he perks up when he spots you. âHello love.â
The others glance at you and, panicked to be on the spot again, you say, âUh, hi,â with a small and awkward wave.
This causes Klausâ smile to grow wider and seemingly more genuine, and you try to suppress the urge to blush. Although you donât think your friends were pleased by that interaction.
âI assume you know why youâre here,â Stefan says, bringing Klausâ attention back to the group.
âAh yes, the cryptic message,â Klaus says. âSo, what is it that I must see? Truly, Iâm dying to know.â You see Damon smirk.
âI wouldnât act so cocky,â he says.
âOh, and whyâs that?â Klaus says with an entertained look on his face. His face changes, however, when Damon reveals the white oak stake. His cocky attitude shifts quickly to fear and anger. âWhere did you get that?â he growls.
âWell it turns out when your sister burned down that bridge, she didnât realize that other things were made from your precious oak tree,â Damon taunts. Heâs exaggerating, of course, as there was only one other thing made from the tree. But Klaus still looks fearful.
âSo what? You really think you can kill me with one stake?â
âWe donât intend to kill you. At least not now anyway,â Caroline says.
âWe called you here as a threat. To tell you to leave Mystic Falls or else,â Stefan says with a calm smile on his face.
âOh, and this isnât the only stake. We wouldnât risk bringing all of them with us just for you to break them,â Elena says.
âYouâre bluffing,â Klaus sneers.
âCare to find out?â Damon asks. You can practically feel the steam of anger rolling off Klaus.
âHow dare you threaten me,â Klaus says, his blue-green eyes turning a deadly shade of yellow.
âWhat are you going to do about it?â Damon says with a taunting smirk. Klausâ face shifts and he smirks back.
âWhy Iâm so glad you asked,â he says. He then lets out a whistle and some of his hybrids emerge from the woods. You widen your gaze as you hold out your weapon, trying to assess the situation. The hybrids move in closer, and you can see the others preparing themselves. âNow, letâs try this again. Hand over the stake, and no one gets hurt.â
You thought the answer would be obvious. Sure, Klaus might be bluffing but you canât kill that many hybrids. And whatâs one lost stake anyway? However, you seemed to be the only one thinking that.
âNo thanks,â Damon says. You look at him incredulously.
âI was hoping youâd say that,â Klaus says. As soon as Klaus advances, his hybrids pounce and the group is thrown into an attack. Your weapons will only slow the hybrids down, but your best hope is to get the upper hand and snap their necks to incapacitate them.
Damon and Klaus immediately face off. The rest of you prepare to face the small army of hybrids while Stefan protects Elena. One of the hybrids locks onto you and hisses before attacking you. You instantly try to hold the hybrid off and stab her, but you can feel her overpowering you in strength.
Still, you rely on your moves in combat to avoid any major injuries or worse, her bite. You manage to get the upper hand and stab her through the stomach, and while sheâs slowed down, you move to behind her back and snap her neck, knocking her out for a good while.
Youâre trying to catch your breath when you sense another hybrid coming at you too late. He pounces on you and you slam into the ground with him on top of you. Youâre caught off guard and without your stake. When you try to move to fight back, the hybrid digs his teeth into your shoulder. A short scream rips through you, powered both by panic and pain.
Meanwhile, Klaus is fighting Damon when he hears the scream. He looks your way as he feared it was you, and the scene causes his eyes to widen. With a newfound urgency, Klaus faces Damon and quickly finds a way to snap his neck.
As youâre panicking from the bite, you feel the hybrid being pulled off of you and you see Klaus with a furious expression. The hybrid is very confused by his sireâs anger. You think you hear Klaus growl, âNot her,â before snapping their neck.
Youâre shocked at what just happened all at once and remain on the ground, sitting up with wide eyes looking at Klaus. He looks away from the hybrid to meet your gaze and his eyes instantly soften. He looks concerned, though youâre not sure why. He makes a move to walk toward you but before you can say anything, Caroline rushes over to you.
She quickly puts herself between Klaus and you. âStay away from her,â she hisses at him. Klausâ expression shifts back to anger, and before you can explain to Caroline whatâs going on, Klausâs gaze flick from her to you and then he sprints away. Not just away from you, but he leaves the forest. The hybrids that havenât been incapacitated follow.
You look after him, longing to talk to him and figure out why he saved you, when Carolineâs face comes into view. âAre you okay?â she asks while helping to pull you off the ground. You nod and you guess thatâs enough for her because she walks towards the rest of the group.
Youâre a bit stunned as Klaus seemed to show more compassion than your friend, but you merely shake off the exchange. From the woods, the group heads back to the Salvatoreâs place. You trail behind them, your mind racing as youâre overly aware of the fact that a werewolf bit you. Not just a werewolf, but a hybrid. You havenât told your friends about it because you donât want to be a bother to them as thatâs all you feel like you are these days.
On the way back, your mind wanders to the one person that seems to be on everyoneâs minds these days. Klaus. You donât know why he saved you, even from his own hybrid, but you want to thank him. You know you should hate him like the others do but for some reason every time that man looks at you, your stomach erupts into butterflies.
You feel awful for how you feel, you know all the harm heâs caused to your friends and not to mention the world, but you canât help it. It doesnât help that he pretends to be soft on you either. You havenât told anyone about your feelings, whatever they are, for fear of persecution but you canât stop thinking about him.
You arrive at the Salvatoreâs and the group huddles in the living room for a quick debriefing of what just went down. All the while images of Klaus and your bite flash through your mind. You look at your shoulder and you canât see the full damage as itâs covered by your shirt but you know itâs not good.
âHow are you holding up, Damon?â Caroline asks teasingly. He glares at her and rolls his neck.
âDoing just great thanks,â he says.
âWhat the hell even happened?â Elena asks. âI mean, why did they just leave?â
âAll I know is, one minute Iâm holding my own against Klaus--â Damon says and to this you hold back rolling your eyes. Klaus mustâve been going easy on him, toying with him. â--and then he gets this raged look on his face and boom, lights out.â
âHe went to Y/N,â Caroline says causing all of their eyes to stare at you again. You bite back your annoyance at her for bringing that on you.
âWhat happened?â Stefan asks while the rest of the group waits. The image of Klaus looking at you causes your face to heat up and you struggle to come up with a lie. You donât want to tell them the truth when you yourself havenât even gotten to the bottom of it.
âI-I donât know,â you say. They still stare at you. âMaybe he was mad at me for harming his hybrids.â
âThere were two knocked-out hybrids beside her,â Caroline adds. The group looks at you with a mix of shock and amazement.
âYou knocked out two of them?â Damon asks with surprise and slight amusement. You donât want to outwardly lie so you just kind of nod.
âAnd then he just left,â you say.
âIt still doesnât make sense. I mean, why target you specifically?â Bonnie asks.
âMaybe heâs miffed his lover betrayed him,â Damon says and your face turns beat red.
âW-What?! I am not hisââ you burst out in surprise until someone cuts you off. No one even looks your way.
âOr maybe heâs planning something,â Elena suggests. The rest of them start diving into conspiracies but your mind is elsewhere. You suddenly feel drawn to look at your bite. The more you look at it, the more itâs like you can feel the venom pumping through your veins. Your heartbeat is suddenly too loud and you feel like you canât breathe.
You donât know if it has something to do with the venom or just your overall panic, but all of a sudden, the world goes black.
â â â
Your eyes slowly open and your vision is blurry at first. Figures stand over you and after blinking a few times, you recognize your friends.
âSheâs awake,â Elena says, as if everyone isnât seeing it for themselves. You realize youâre lying on the Salvatoreâs couch. You wonder how long you blacked out for.
âWhat the hell Y/N?!â Caroline instantly yells at you. You flinch at her volume but she doesnât seem to notice. âWhy didnât you tell us you got bit?â
At the reminder, you look back at the bite only to see that its gotten worse. You wince at the sight of it and face the group. You guess they discovered it when you passed out.
âI donât know, I-I thought I could handle it,â you say, not wanting to admit the real reason. Most of them roll their eyes at you.
âOf course you couldnât handle it!â Damon says. âYou should have told us.â
I didnât know you cared. You bite your tongue to keep the words from spilling out of your mouth. âIâm sorry,â you say, losing interest in the conversation as you are now painfully aware of the venom from the bite.
âWhat are we going to do?â Bonnie asks. They begin to cut you out of the conversation even though theyâre talking about you and you decide you canât deal with this right now. You stand up from the couch, feeling a bit of a head rush before steadying yourself. This seems to draw their attention.
âHey wait, where are you going?â Stefan asks, as they all look at you with bewildered expressions.
âIâm going home,â you say and start to walk away. Unfortunately, they follow.
âYou canât just go home!â Caroline exclaims, reacting as if you just said you were going to the moon.
âWatch me,â you say, your frustration getting the better of you. You try to make your way towards the door but a few steps in you stumble and Stefan speeds over to steady you.
âOkay, weâll take you home, alright?â he says and in that moment, youâre grateful for him. He turns to the rest of the group. âWe can regroup at her place and brainstorm ideas there while keeping an eye on her.â The rest of the group seems to agree with the idea. In separate cars, the group drives over to your house.
Soon youâre pulling into your driveway. Theyâve all been invited in before so entering isnât a problem. With Stefanâs help, you climb the stairs and soon find yourself in your cozy bed. You wish you could just sleep away this problem but a sudden sharp pain from the wound reminds you that isnât possible.
âSo what now?â Elena asks as the group piles into your bedroom. It feels weird and youâre slightly uncomfortable with it but you keep quiet and just get under your inviting covers.
âMaybe we can ask Klaus for help?â Bonnie suggests. At this, Damon instantly scoffs.
âYeah that sounds like him,â Damon says.
âMaybe heâll do it for Y/N,â Caroline says. âHe does have a soft spot for her.â
âI donât know if thatâs enough for him,â Stefan interjects. âWe all know what heâs after.â
âNo,â Damon says. âWe finally have a real weapon against those Original assholes and Iâm not just going to throw it all away forââ
âDamon,â Elena hisses and nudges him in the chest before nodding over to you. Once more, all eyes are on you and you donât know what to do. Damon looks away, maybe feeling guilty for basically saying youâre not worth it.
âWhy donât we continue this conversation downstairs?â Caroline suggests. You once again wonder why theyâre talking about this situation without you but youâre too tired and hurt to care.
âWeâll be downstairs if you need anything,â Bonnie says and then the group filters out closing the door behind them.
Throughout the day a few of them check in on you every once and a while, barely giving you updates on if theyâre going to find a cure. As your pain grows and the sky darkens, you start to think that maybe this is it. Maybe this is how you die. You never imagined it happening like this and your chest caves in at the thought of a final death but itâs looking more and more likely.
Youâre not sure what time it is, but later in the night you hear a faint knock which sounds like itâs coming from your front door. You ignore it, not having the strength to answer it. You figure one of your friends will answer it. If theyâre even home.
The knock sounds again, louder and more persistent, and you start to suspect that your friends have left. You take a deep breath as fear coils around your throat, constricting your breath. Your friends arenât here and youâre going to die all alone before you even got to live. The knocking stops and you settle back into the silence.
Then a sound comes from your window. It sounds likeâŚknocking? From your bed, you canât see the outside since itâs too dark out. You wish your friends were here. Slowly, you climb out of bed and try to rally your strength in case you have to fight something or someone. As you walk over your confusion only grows.
There, perched on a branch from the tree outside your window, is Klaus Mikaelson. He gives you a wave and you hesitantly wave back. You approach the window cautiously before opening it.
âUm, can I help you?â you ask, trying to understand what youâre seeing. Hallucinations are a side effect of wolf venom, right?
âWell hello to you too, love,â he says with a cheeky smile on his face. His eyes roam over your body and his smile falters. You suddenly become aware that this is the closest youâve ever been to the Original. You try not to let your cheeks flush.
âWhat are you doing here?â His smile drops entirely, noticing your serious demeanour.
âIâm here to help. Now if you could just let me inââ
âHelp with what?â His face becomes grim as his eyes trail over to your shoulder. Itâs now out in the open as youâve changed into pajamas. You then remember that he mustâve seen the bite when it happened.
âYour wound, love.â
âWhyâŚwhy would you want to help me with that?â you ask. Then a thought occurs. âWait, have my friends spoken to you?â
His eyebrows furrow as he shakes his head. âNo, I havenât heard from them,â he says and though you canât say you didnât expect it, your heart drops at hearing it. âWait, do they know about this?â
âUm yeah.â
He looks angry as he asks, âAnd where are they now?â
You look at the floor and try to keep your embarrassment inside. âI donât know, I thought they wouldâve contacted you.â
âApparently not.â His face is still twisted in anger although youâre not quite sure why. Then he looks at you and seems to remember why heâs here. âSo, can you let me in?â
The thought of having Klaus Mikaelson in your room makes your heart beat faster. And though you want to give in, to continue living your immortal life, you hesitate. âWhy should I trust you?â
âWhat?â
âHow do I know if I let you in now, it wonât come back to bite me in the ass?â you ask, your arms crossed.
Klaus doesnât seem to understand your concern. âLove, you realize thatâs a hybrid bite. I donât think you have the time for this.â
âSo you admit that you would use it later?â
His face scrunches up. âThatâs notno I wouldnât do thatâjust please let me in,â he says, giving you a sincere look that threatens to break down your walls. Just as youâre about to question him more, a wave of pain washes over your body. You let out a groan as you slightly stumble back. âY/N?â The pain grows more intense and you let out a whimper before you collapse onto your knees. âY/N!â Itâs as if your body is at war with itself and you can feel every impact of it.
âYou have to let me in, just say the words and I can help you. Please!â You hear Klaus say from the window. But itâs hard to find words when the pain is so intense. You want it to stop. âY/N!â You hear him bang his fist against the walls of your house.
You slowly lift your head up to see his worried face, desperately waiting for you to let him in. You no longer care if this will come back to haunt you. You take a few deep breaths before you say, âCome in.â
As soon as the words take effect, Klaus rushes into the house and scoops you into his arms. You clutch at his chest, not thinking of anything but the pain. He carries you over to the bed and gently places you down before quickly running over to the window to close it. The pain seems to be dwindling down but you know itâll be back. Your whole body is so weak, you used the last of your strength to walk over and talk to Klaus.
Speaking of, heâs quickly back at your bedside, eyes furiously scanning you for signs of physical distress. Then his eyes lock on yours and you feel your breath hitch. âYou have to drink my blood,â he says quietly to you.
You know that thatâs the cure and that it will save you, but youâre still hesitant. This is Klaus youâre talking about. The big bad hybrid whoâs been attacking your friends and causing chaos for weeks now. And yet for some reason, a part of you wants to trust him. A part of you wants to give in to the idea that he could be good. But how can you trust him when you canât even trust your own instincts?
He must sense your hesitation, because he leans down to look into your eyes. When you look at him, youâre stuck by how truly beautiful he is. His eyes are a beautiful blue, but more than that, they hold a look of sincerity in them. âI know you donât trust me, I wouldnât either,â he says. âBut this is whatâs going to save you. So please, take a chance. What have you got to lose?â
He does have a point.
âI donât want to die,â you admit in a small voice. Your breath stutters as you let the fear bubbling inside of you rise to the surface. Klausâs look is sympathetic.
âI donât want that either,â he whispers. Your eyes meet and you feel caught in them. âLet me help you.â
Maybe itâs because this is a different, more sincere side of Klaus that youâve never seen before. Maybe itâs because your friends are gone and youâre feeling vulnerable. Maybe itâs because your instincts seem to have aligned. Either way, you nod your head.
He offers you a small smile. He then sits on the bed and gently shifts you so that youâre leaning against his chest. Youâre too weak to move yourself. Klaus rolls up his sleeve and bites down on his wrist before bringing it close to your lips. Youâre tempted but look at him to make sure itâs okay first. He nods and you sink your teeth into his wrist.
At first, you feel weird about the situation. But then you lean into it and begin to enjoy it. Klaus whispers encouragingly in your ear as his blood enters your body. You can feel your strength begin to return and the fog in your brain clear. You almost donât want to stop, and the way Klaus is petting your hair doesnât help. But eventually, you know youâve had enough, so you pull away.
âWasnât so bad, eh?â Klaus says and you look up to see him smiling down at you. âAre you going to be okay?â
âI think so.â
âThen I guess my work here is done.â He moves you so youâre lying back on your bed, but when he moves to leave, you grab his arm. He looks back, confused.
âWhy did you do that?â When his confusion doesnât clear, you clarify. âWhy did you help me?â
He looks down at the floor and his lip twitches into a smile. âI donât know if youâve noticed, love, but I quite fancy you. Wouldnât want you dying on me before Iâve had a chance to win you over.â
His words shock you enough to let go of his arm. The strangest part is that he looks sincere about it. âButâŚyou actually like me? Like, that wasnât all an act?â you ask. Both of you seem to be confused by the other.
âWhy would I do that?â You start to feel embarrassed.
âToâto get on the groupâs nerves? To throw us off?â
âIs it so hard to believe that I might just like you?â To be honest, the thought hadnât occurred to you. Trickery made more sense.
âYes,â you say and then wish you didnât. âIâI mean, why me? Why not Caroline or Bonnie?â
âBesides the fact that youâre the most gorgeous creature Iâve ever laid eyes on?â he asks and youâre suddenly glad itâs dark because your cheeks are on fire right now. âBecause youâre different.â That doesnât make you feel so great. He must have picked up on that because he catches your eye and says, âBecause youâre better.â The idea makes you flustered, that anyone would think youâre better than them, let alone a powerful hybrid like Klaus.
âI still donât understand.â
âHmm.â He seems to think on what to say before smirking. âThen I guess Iâll have to do a better job at showing you.â When he winks at you, you think your face might be on fire from how hot it is. Once again, he turns to leave.
âThank you,â you call out which makes him stop in his tracks. He turns around to face you and seems confused by your words. But you mean them. He didnât have to save you, you gave him nothing in return, and yet he did.
He smiles and you think itâs much better than the fake ones he gives to the group. âOf course love,â he says. âCouldnât have my favourite vampire dying on me.â You give him a smile back, genuinely happy to hear someone say that to you.
Then your eyelids begin to feel heavy and you have to blink rapidly to stay awake. Klaus sees this and says, âGoodnight, my love,â before opening your bedroom window.
âGoodnight,â you say back as you watch the window close. You lay back down on your bed, thankful to no longer be dying. You guess you have your new saviour to thank for that. As you close your eyes, you canât help but see Klaus in a different light. Not as a villain, but as a complicated man. You donât think your friends are going to like your change of heart, so for now youâll keep it to yourself. Youâll be content in knowing that maybe the big bad hybrid isnât so bad after all.

Season 2 Squid game men finding someone they knew in the real world in the game.
Warnings: death, drugs, poverty, typical cannon stuff.
Characters: players 001, 230, 124.
______
á˘ááŻá˝áŹá 001
- so this one is kinda tricky bc I struggle to imagine a world where in-ho lets you in the game. Though he can ensure your survival he wouldnât like using you as a piece in his games
- letâs say you did though (might write a full fic on this) you are his spouse or what have you, and he informed you of his plans to join the game once gi-hun had been captured. You clearly had your objections, trying your best to keep him from such dangers.
- but he doesnât listen. He says things like âyou just wouldnât understandâ, âI told you my work was dangerous, why is it different nowâ, or âno you canât come with, you couldnât survive itâ
- and you actually did try to ask to go with, you fool. And he really didnât like that.
- âdarlingâ he would say in a low voice, clearly frustrated with your constant pleading. âI already told you no.â Heâd stay sternly, a warning.
- but as we know, in-ho has a thing for people he canât fully control. So, using the freedom you so painstakingly earned from being jussst obedient enough, you fly out to the central place of Korea (where he collects his players) and wait. And then you see gong Yoo, a very very trusted salesman
- now, all in-hos employees know OF you. They know you exist and are off limits, thatâs about it. They donât know what you look like, because up till now they never had to. You play the little game, get slapped around a few times before obtaining your precious card. Dialing the number and waiting to be picked up
- and when he sees your face pop up in the player profile picture screen he danm near busts a blood vessel. That explains why you didnât answer the phone. To think he thought you were just being pettyâŚ
- he is very, very mad at you. Going behind his back, sneaking into his game- the game he specifically said you could NOT play. But under all that there was this feeling of want. Very much a âjust wait till we get homeâ moment.
- just before joining the games he made a small but important demand. Which was no matter what, you were not to be killed.
-after he officially joined the game and talked to gi-hun briefly after voting, he went to find you. And when he did you could tell how lucky you were to be in a room full of people. So he had to act like he didnât know you. But when no one was looking heâd come over to you.
- âwhat the hell are you doing here?â Heâd whisper to you, almost a growl as his hand grips tightly around your forearms âwhat was the one thing I told you, darling?â
- but he knew he couldnât do what he wanted, not with all these eyes. And you knew that too. Responding with a âI donât know what youâre talking about, young-il.â And smile as gi-hun and his group rejoined you both
- keeps his eyes on you all the time. You are never too far across the room from him, just in case. He is in your team for every game, saving you in ways that shouldnât technically count but did now because heâs the frontman
- you two might eventually start having fun playing the games. Bonding more through team work, having each others backs, covering for each other. Since you are both lying thereâs more risk, but over time in-ho starts to think itâs actually more amusing to lie and cheat and deceive with you than without. Though you guess itâs only fun when you canât die from it
- over all, you safe as hell while you in those games. When itâs all over though, you might find yourself in some crazy trouble.
á˘ááŻá˝áŹá 230
(F!reader sorry)
- ah, the legend thanos. Where do I begin with this little freak
- you met him at a club, actually.
- you were there casually with a few friends like most people are. Dancing, drinking, kicking back. Thatâs when suddenly there was this huge commotion. Girls rushing to the front door, leaving everything, drinks and purses in all.
- seems like someone popular rolled through. You and your friend joke about how the person must be lucky having all these girls practically tossing themselves at them and continued on with your night
- eventually, one by one, all of your friends met some cute boy or girl and left you to your own devices at the bar. A shitty move on their part, leaving you alone in a club for a fling. âBut whateverâ you think, taking a long sip before going back to glaring at the bar table. That was until you heard a males voice come up from behind you
- âhey hey, seĂąorita. All by yourself here?â
- your head snapped to the direction of the voice, leading your gaze to a young man with purple hair, tatted to hell and back. You gave him a look of annoyance, gripping your drink. âI mean, do you see me with anyone?â You replied sarcastically, turning your head away from him again
- âahh so angry~ very scaryâ he says back confidently, coming around to sit in the stool next to you, resting his arm around the back of your stool. âHow bout I buy you a drink, huh? Whatcha think?â He says, wiggling his eyebrows
- âI already have oneâ you reply dryly, causing him to roll his eyes dramatically, shaking your chair slightly
- âcmon pretty, donât be so cold. Donât you recognize me?â He says, lifting his arms up as if to say âsee?â. But he gives you a look of confusion when you donât nod. In fact, you just cocked your head to the side and look at him like he was an extraterrestrial creature. âWait, you donât know me?â He asks in disbelief, now he was the one with the bewildered look
- you giggled a bit at his face and shook your head. And he took that laugh and RAN.
âWell if you think this is so funny, why donât you get to know me. Iâm thanos, the legendâ he says cockily.
- ah, thatâs what the rage was about.
- just like that the rest was history. He took you everywhere with him. Sharing illegal substances in random clubs and venues. He even let you in his studio. (Thank god he always remembers to turn the mics off)
- he shows his true self with you. The parts of him that arenât confident but insecure. The parts that are depressed instead of euphoric. The side of him that canât live without love and attention. He really struggles with depression and often thought that he was nothing, never enough, washed up without even getting big. But you bring him back down.
- before investing in bit coins and shit, he makes pretty good money. He buys you all types of things and takes you all kinds of places
- not secretive on his drug use, itâs very much a part of his lifestyle and heâs honest about that.
- that being said he gets kinda wacko off stuff sometimes. He just acts different, not like himself. Like if someone was trying to pretended to be him only it was him, if that makes sense. Itâs one of the few times you guys will argue. But heâs pretty scary and hard to deal with when heâs on certain things. He always feels bad after. Especially if he snaps at you and makes you sad, even high the sight of your frown activates him like a winter soldier and he hugs you and says sweet things.
- when he sees you in the end of the first game it takes him a moment to realize it was you. To be fair he was kinda coming off a high at the start of the game so his brain was operating slow(er than usualđ). But when it clicks heâs barreling towards you.
- âsenorita !!â He calls, and when you turn he rushes even faster. âSenorita, what are you fucking doing here?â He says, patting you on the shoulders, spinning you to check for injury.
- âI was here to help you!!â
- that kinda put a chip in his heart. That you felt like you had to save him. Even worse because when you met he was VERY well off and was able to buy you all the finest things. He feels kinda like a failure of a man for that. But doesnât let it show.
- heâs guarding the hell out of you the whole time. And you are EXTREMELY off limits from everyone else. He doesnât even allow nam gyu to speak to you in any sorta aggressive way. If someone says something to or about you he doesnât like HE IS SWINGING. Immediately
- even on drugs he wouldnât be able to sacrifice you in the games, but he would be pretty pissed if you voted against him
- over all, youâre also very safe with this idiot, only heâs more likely to put you in risky and dangerous situations. Saying âhe can protect you against anythingâ
- (not a fork apparently)
á˘ááŻá˝áŹá 124
- *insert that freaky ass sonic gifđ*
- my wife nam gyu <3
- you two also met at a club, only you were a poor music drop out student who was taken in at a dinghy night club as a DJ. Everyone has to start somewhere
- nam gyu, as we know, works in many clubs. Typically as security for the workers or at the doors as a bouncer.
- because of those jobs heâs very good at looking mean and scary. We all know the expression he makes when he took his picture. He looks like that 24/7 while at work.
- you work the lastest shift at this club, and as the DJ you canât go until all the people leave or itâs closing time (5am). You were very scared to walk home after work alone because you couldnât afford a taxi⌠yeah, youâre that broke. Thatâs when nam gyu came to your ârescueâ.
- he approached you with a very sweet smile, waving you down just as you begun to walk nervously out of the club. A complete opposite to the hardened look he always wore on the job.
- He tells you as club security itâs his job to keep his workers safe, offering you a personal escort home. And with his awkward mannerisms and cute smile of course you said yes. And he does.
- you both keep this up for a while. Youâd both close together, heâd take you home and then go home himself. Youâd talk about literally anything on those walks. How work was, the things you over heard, maybe share bits of your pasts together. He even put you on to the other clubs he worked at, putting in good words for you.
- slowly though, over time you noticed a change. He started making friends with unfriendly people. Letting things slide. Taking money under the table. Doing drugs.
- sure, you didnât have problems with people who do drugs. In the places you work, everyone does.
- but here, weâre talking heroin, ketamine, coke, meth. Everything. And you guess you just never thought he would do all that.
- soon the walks turned into hangouts, then to sleep overs, then to practically living together. Well, you had separate houses but stayed at each others places
- eventually, just because this is how it usually goes, you will probably become to dabble in some substances as well. Nam gyus rule is you can only do so around him though. And he will share, even if heâs low. Isnât he so kind?
(if ur really not comfy forget I said that or something idk man)
- possessive and obsessive than a MF. You donât really have many dude friends but if you did, no you donât. Or you better not let him find out. You think heâs so touchy feely in public bc he loves you so much? Well, yes. ANNDD heâs really big on having people know you are very taken. You bring something out of him, thatâs for sure.
- deffo manipulative. Sometimes heâd take some of your money âfor something importantâ without asking or he yells at you because heâs either tweaking or withdrawling (which just happens in addict relationships no hate gang have compassion for addicts pls. But also donât be ok w being verbally abused either) and you rightfully get mad at him he will run his hands oh so gently up and down your arms, holding your face and saying all the things you wanna hear
- âplease baby, Iâm so sorry. You know I donât mean it. Fuck baby please forgive me. Iâll make it up to you, I promiseâ with his signature little smile. Unfortunately, he has you where he wants you.
- then you get into the games. Not only do you have more student debt then you thought possible but ALSO nam gyu âborrowedâ some money to figure his bitcoin situation out. And now you had to pay with him.
- you didnât think youâd see him there.
- immediately, upon sight after voting post red light, green light, heâs already got you in his grasp. Not even thanos knew what to say so he let him have his moment. Only it sucked for you
- he was pretty mad to say the least. âAre you fucking stupid, huh?â He says as he seemingly materialized out of no where. âNam gyu?! Well I was just-â âno, just shut up. I donât really care, you realize you arenât safe in hereâ yeahâŚ. He may be pretty sweet most of the time but you can take the man outta the streets, but not the streets outta the man. He doesnât REALLY mean that, he just really doesnât know what to do. Youâre gonna see a dark side of him heâd rather you didnât, and that was that
- he does apologize later, as he always does at just the right time after an argument. âI didnât mean to call you stupid baby, I was just so worriedâ smh.
- you have no choice but to pick âOâ. Between him and his new little friend thanos hopped up on mystery pills and muderous peers, you figured listening to nam gyu was your best choice. And you trusted him, loved him even. So why not
- yk what I said about his touchy possessiveness? Times that by ten now. Any player (besides thanos and even then it can get kinda heated ) that talks to you, tries to touch you, team up with you, really does anything being honest will be yelled at, threatened, and then probably purposely left to die in the next game by him. Between keeping a hold of thanos and you he damm near has a stroke.
- right before he falls asleep he sneaks very seriously, like if he doesnât reach you heâll die, just to sleep in your arms for a moment. Reminds him of home and the life outside, which makes him feel weird but good.
- gets thanos to share a pill or two with you
- did I mention he really likes to touch you?
- over all, youâre the least safe with him. Buttt he still loves and cares for you. Would kill to defend you in the games, he does so for less in the games. But he would definitely be toxic a bit and maybe evil even. Puts you in danger but calls you crazy if you point it out. Very loving, but very scary. I love my wife.

for your rafe cameron series đ§Ą!
i hc that rafe hates that his shy gf is a people pleaser so whenever ppl ask reader for/to do things, he tells them no and teaches reader to be selfish sometimes
sweet girl . part one.
part two.
. . . finally done with uni and travel work so!!! i have not written in too long, so hopefully i have done it some justice!! part 1 because i truly think it deserves more :(
warnings. manipulative rafe? oblivious reader. bad friends lowkey.
Rafe Cameron adored you to the ends of the earth, every breath you took called his name. He cannot think of any quality you owned in which he disliked (maybe, slightly, being a pogue). But God he could not stand how nice you were. You knew it was a bad habit, a habit that made you likeable for all the wrong reasons.Â
Your heart was racing, and the base of your palms overloaded with sweat. No matter how many times you tried to relieve the stress, your mind would not stop reeling. It took days of convincing on your friendsâ end, but it finally came to their luck when youâd hesitantly agreed.
Terrified. Terrified is the word you would use to describe how you felt. You were in shambles just thinking of the ocean, the deep seas scaring you in ways you would rather not imagine. But your friends needed you, after constructing a plan to get another batch of gold â all they needed was you.
âAre you ready?â JJ asked. Your shaking hands were gripping the edge of the boat before you nodded.Â
You tried, you really did, only you felt the panic settle in when your legs were the only identifiable object below you that did not jitter you. Your eyes stung painfully, and you were sure they would swell soon enough. After every exhale you did, water filled your lungs and the fish that trickled by your trembling feet, did not help but cause a worrisome tremble of your body.Â
It was a long while with overwhelming darkness consuming you, and time didnât register then, not until Rafeâs angry voice was loading through your ears.
He was beyond furious. He wasnât supposed to leave you alone today, but how could he say no to you when you were practically begging? (it did not take much â in fact.)
Rafe stood near his bed, watching your breathing steady and lashes gently flutter open. He paced near you with haste speed, before sitting down near your arms. âDo you know how stupid you are?â
âwh-what?âÂ
âYou wanted to keep this relationship a secret,â his breath shook with every word he spat out, yet the touch on his hands were laced with gentleness. âSo you better stay outta trouble. I canât come ân get you around your shitty fucking friends.â
You sat up slowly, taking notice of the way your clothes lay folded on his desk chair, his own clothes hanging loosely around your body. You knew Rafe cared about you, he is your boyfriend, but it never crossed your mind that heâd find anger in your misery.Â
You gulped, shrugging your shoulders yet your hands still circled by his, âI-I donât get it, theyâre my friends and they asked, it was a risk anyone would tak-â
âNo the fuck itâs not, my God Y/N,â he dragged his hands over his face, before leaning close to you. âNo friends would ask you to jump into the fuckinâ ocean knowinâ youâre scared shitless.â
His jaw clenched and you squint your eyes at the furrow of his brows, âRafeâŚIâm sorry, I didnât mean to upset you.â The frown residing on your face was evident, reaching out with one hand to clasp his rough hands with your own, and another tenderly caressing the creasing of his skin.
You didnât understand his anger, but it was justified in your head, nonetheless. How could he ever be wrong in your eyes?
Not a second had passed and he was already mimicking the sadness plastered onto you, before using his other hand to caress your cheeks â a touch so soft sighs escaped the pairâs lips.
âBaby,â he cleared his throat, âIm- mânot mad at you. No one loves you like I do. I wouldnât risk your life; your friends are selfish.â
He cradled your head onto his chest, wiping and pressing on your pouting mouth. ââs not the first time either, you care too much âts going to hurt you.â you shrug into his chest, heart aching at the sound of his own beating erratically breath your ears.
Rafe sighed, gulping and leaning onto the headboard, âgonna have to have me stuck by you all the time, iâll be your backbone while you get to be all sweet ân shit.â
âyou think iâm sweet?â a saccharine giggle escapes you at the roll of his eyes, and Rafe tightens his hold on you, knuckles white as you draw mindless patterns on his chest.

kiss and cry
summary | youâve learnt to build your walls sky high in the wake of dick graysonâs abrupt departure from the world of skating. but one decade later, heâs back like nothing ever happened, and youâre back to square one. prompt | language of flowers event: a bouquet of purple hyacinths in blue wrapping paper with a pink ribbon ⥠pairing | dick grayson x gn!reader wc | 3.2k warnings/tags | pairs figure skating, childhood friends to strangers to ???, mutual pining, repressed feelings, angst, swearing, insecurity, no use of y/n, very liberal interpretation of how youâd qualify for the olympics ty @strangergraphics for the divider!
Brian Orser is a liar.Â
âOh c'mon kid, I had no idea. I thought this was a good kind of surprise! You might have a chance at the Olympics this time around!â
You shouldâve known something was up when he asked you to stay after practice. The old man is annoyingly close to catching up with you, and if you werenât wearing skate guards right now, youâd speed walk to the lockers faster.Â
âIsnât this good? You need a new partner, Dick finally decided to call me back, and anyways, I thought you l-â
You donât need to hear the rest of his sentence to know what heâs about to say. âI didnât. And I donât anymore.â Neither of you seem convinced, but at least it gets him to shut up.Â
What pains you the most is you canât even be mad at the older man. You canât cry, or scream, or throw a tantrum like you were 9 again, because at the end of the day, this is the coach you had begged to take you on. The one who has been behind so many legends and basically built your career up from the ground. Had this been any other situation, any other person, besides the Boy Wonder himself, you would probably be on the verge of much happier tears. But you know, just like last time, he wonât be here to stay. And you donât know how much more heartbreak you can take.
Before you get the chance to talk him out of it, a pair of footsteps joins you. Speak of the fucking devil.
Itâs like they had planned some flanked attack, with Brian herding you towards the front of the building and Dick stepping in to cut you off as youâre about to make your grand escape. No idea, your ass. Brian knew you wouldnât be able to say no if they had you cornered like this.
âDick!â he exclaims, pushing past you to wrap the black-haired man in bear hug. Normally, you think youâd be hurt by how his face is practically illuminating (he had never greeted you like that before). But you have your own worries to deal with: namely, a heart that is currently trying to claw its way out of your throat and lungs that have forgotten how to inhale air. You think Brian might still be speaking, but if he is, youâve tossed that all to the side in lieu of studying the man in front of you.
You make it a point not to meet his gaze, even as you feel him trying to meet yours. Perhaps itâs pride, perhaps itâs fear, but either way, you know as soon as you look at him, properly look at him, any objectivity will fly out the door.
So you settle for the obvious things. Heâs taller, and his face is sharper, no longer rounded by baby fat. Even the spiky haircut you used to tease him for is grown out now. He looks goodâbut nothing like the boy you have enshrined in your memories. This isnât the boy who would stay behind to help you practice your jumps. This isnât the boy who would pack an extra lunch for you in case you forgot yours. This isnât the boy you cried yourself to sleep over for months, the boy who almost made you quit the one thing you loved most in the world because the thought of skating alone made you want to hurl.
This? Him? Itâs just a bitter reminder that figure skating wasnât the only thing he left behind all those years ago.Â
You think you hear the two of them discuss the technical details. Practice schedules, song choices, choreographyâit all goes in one ear and out the other. Itâs a conversation you have with the older man at the start of every season. An annual promise that that year would be the year you finally earn the recognition you had worked so hard for.Â
Technically, everything had been perfect. Technically, you were good. Enough to consistently land a spot at the Grand Prix Final.
But not good enough for a medal. It was never enough. No matter how much training you did, how many extra jumps you crammed into your programs, how many partners you had cycled through. There was no use in denying it: after Dick had left, you hadnât been the same skater.
Itâs pathetic. Your crush had not only abandoned you at 14, but any hopes of even making it to the podium had been crushed then as well. And you hate that 10 years later, you still havenât moved on. Not enough to say no to his offer. Because like it or not, chemistry is everything in pairs, and thereâs nobody like him. There is nobody like Dick Grayson.
Itâs silent now. Theyâre waiting for you.Â
You finally look up to meet his gaze. âOkay, Iâll do it.âÂ
â
Itâs too easy to fall back into step with Dick. He always greets you with a smile, brings you snacks before practice (homemade ones at that), and carries your bag to your car for you, even though you insist that youâre more than capable of doing it yourself. Heâs certainly trying, but the more effort he puts in, the more you canât help but resent him.Â
His kindness is all just a means to an end for him. Heâs buttering you up so your movements are less goddamn stiff when youâre next to him, so you at least vaguely resemble an evenly matched pair. You know from Brian that heâs only coming back because of a stupid bet he made with his brother. Heâs just here to prove he can make it to the Olympics. Your childhood dream, what youâve decided would be the sign that youâve made itâto him, itâs just another achievement he can use to inflate his ego. The worst part about it is heâs good enough that he could genuinely make it happen that effortlessly. And once heâs satisfied with that, heâll waltz out of your life just as quickly as he came in.Â
So when he offers you a hand as you step out of the rink, when he happens to have an extra energy drink, when he suggests a âteam bondingâ dinner, you donât accept. Youâll let yourself entertain him on the ice for the sake of the skate. But nothing more.Â
At the very least, you can admit that your performance aspect has definitely improved since skating alongside Dick. You breeze through Eastern Regionals, then Skate Canada, then Skate America, and in no time at all, youâre at the Grand Prix Final: the one barrier youâve always hit.Â
The short goes even better than you imagined it would. Too good. Youâve seen the posts that the fans have made about the two of you, digging up old skating clips to support their theories about the two of you. Thereâs a poorly worded interview by Brian that does nothing but fuel the flames, and even some of the commentators have been talking about how good the two of you look together. All signs seem to be telling you that you have nothing to worry about; the two of you are perfect. They donât understand that thatâs exactly what youâre worried about.Â
You donât catch yourself until itâs too late. Youâre slowly getting consumed by himâby his soft smiles and whispers of encouragement and stupid, stupid puns. Youâre back where you started, feeling weightless as the two of you skate your free program, actually losing yourself to the music. Thereâs nothing to prove anymore; this isnât a performanceâthis is just how itâs always meant to be. It should feel right. But it doesnât, because youâre terrified that if you let yourself get comfortable in his embrace, you wonât be able to skate like this ever again.
You pop the triple Lutz. Then you go into an Euler and a double toe loop thatâs under-rotated too. You donât understand, your jumps have always been pristine, especially your doubles. You havenât made a sloppy mistake like this in a while. The last time was whenâ
Shit, youâre too early into the step sequence, the turn too sharp at the corner. You meet his gaze repentantly, like that will absolve you of your guilt. You donât know what emotion youâre expecting to find in eyes. Maybe anger? Frustration? Thatâs certainly how you feel at the moment. Whatever it is, itâs certainly not adoration.Â
You want to ask him what the hell is going on, but thereâs no time. Last move. Death spiral. You have to hold hands, and the contact makes your skin burn. You donât have the heart to look at him again. Youâre afraid of what youâre going to find.
Suddenly everything feels too tight: the rink, your chest, the skates around your feet. You have to get out of there. One revolution, two, three, four. You can hold on, itâs almost over. Another four. He pulls you back towards him. Itâs your final pose. The two of you are chest to chest.Â
You just have to hold this for a second, and then youâre free. You can do it. You can do it. And then heâs leaning in even closer, until his forehead is pressed against yours and your lips hovering over each other.Â
You canât do it anymore and all you can think about is how to get out of there. You donât even bother to wait for your score; youâll deal with Brianâs scolding later. But you know if you stay out there any longer, you wonât be able to scrape together what little sanity you still have left.Â
Youâre leaving. You have to leave.
And as you run back to the lockers, you realize somebodyâs been calling out your name.
âHey, wait! Is everything okay?â Of course, the one person you donât want to see would follow you. âWhy did you leave like that? Did I do something wrong?â His hand hovers over your arm for a moment before he pulls it away and you donât know whether you should laugh or cry. He used to do it with practiced ease back when you were kids, when you would joke that he had cooties but let him do so all the same. Now, youâre not sure if you can stand his touch, and from the look on his face, it seems to break his heart.
âNothing, letâs just forget about this.â You feel like youâre being strangled and it takes all of your energy not to burst into tears at the moment.Â
âNo,â he says softly. âNo, I know you, I know youâre not okay. Please, letâs talk about this.âÂ
And suddenly, everythingâs just too much. Heâs acting too nice to you, like he actually cares. Like maybe the fervent glances and lingering touches on the ice mean more to him than just pandering to the judges. But you know he doesnât, because then he wouldnât have left.
You let out a bitter laugh, shaking your head. âNo, you donât know a single thing about me. So donât act like you care about me now.â
âI do though!âÂ
âBullshit. Weâre not anything to each other.âÂ
His face crumples immediately. He takes a step back. This is the closest heâs ever been to tears.
On a kinder day, youâd take it all back. Youâd apologize and beg for his forgiveness and he would be disgustingly kind like he always is and you could both forget about this. But youâre tired of dancing around the issue and you think thereâs a sick part of you that revels in his pained expression.Â
You take a step forward. âYouâre just a coworker. This? This act where we pretend like we can stand to be in the same room as each other? This isnât real. So stop acting like it is. You didnât care about me when you left. So why the change now? Do you know how fucking hard it was for me to move on? I couldnât even skate afterwards. I thought my career was over. And Iâve had to fight every single day to prove thatâthat Iâm still a capable skater, that I have a place in this sport.âÂ
Your voice trembles, and it takes all of your strength to swallow the lump in your throat. âI had to fight to be able to skate without you. To have the courage to stand on the ice alone. So Iâm sorry that Iâm not willing to welcome you back with open arms, because I know this is just some stupid game to you. Youâll get to the Olympics, because of course you will, and Iâll get to ride on the coattails of that. And that will be the greatest moment of my career, but to you, itâs just another thing on your checklist. Then youâll go back to whatever you decided is more worthy than mââ You choke on your own words. âThan skating. And Iâll have to pick up the broken pieces again. But frankly speaking, I donât know if I can do that a second time.â
Itâs dead silent, save for your panting. You feel like you just ran a marathon. And Dick? You canât read him, and thatâs what scares you the most.
âForget it.â The silence is driving you insane, and you just start running your mouth. âFuck, forget it. I should just be grateful youâre even my partner this season. Itâs the only way Iâll make it to the Olympics. I know youâre thinking it, you and Brianââ
âDonât say that.â
ââthatâs why you left, isnât it? Didnât want to be tied down to a pathetic fucking loser.â
âI never said thââ
âI canât blame you. Iâd leave me tooââ
âI DIDNâT LEAVE YOU!âÂ
Now youâre both silent. Youâve never heard him raise before. Youâve never seen him this desperate either. Heâs shaking as he stands in front of you. âYouâre right, I didnât care about skating. It was always just a hobby to me. But I stayed because of you. Because I was young and stupid and in love and the only way I knew how to show you that was to skate with you. And it killed me when I had to quit, but I justâŚI saw how much passion you had for skating. Like it was the air you needed to breathe, but I knew I couldnât dedicate myself to the sport like you could.. And you deserved a partner who would love skating as much as you do.â
You think your brain short circuits after âin love,â and if he says anything else after that, you certainly arenât processing it. ââŚYou loved me?â
Dick laughs like youâve just asked if water is a liquid. âOf course I did. Everybody knew it too. Brian used to tease me about the way I would look at you. And I figured I would finally tell you after I quit, in case it would make things awkward, but thenâŚâ
âI blocked you.â You whisper in horror.Â
âYeah, so I figured you didnât want anything to do with me after that. I didnât realize quitting meant I would lose you too.âÂ
And suddenly youâre 14 again, watching the boy youâve had a crush on for over half of your life tell you that he doesnât want to skate anymore, and you feel so small and so stupid. âOh god. So all of those yearsâŚâ
He nods, âI lied about the Olympics thing. Or well, I really did have a bet with Jason, but when Brian told me that you needed a new partnerâŚI came back hoping it would be a chance to make it up to you.â
Youâre still having a hard time wrapping your head around the fact that maybe Dick had genuinely been trying to make amends with you. âSo you being nice wasnât just for show or team-building or whatever?â
âTeam-building? God, I donât think thereâs a world where I can love you in any other way.â
The first realization that he had loved you in the past had been enough to nearly give you a heart attack. But to hear love? In the present tense? You think back to how heâs been acting for the past few months. All of the weird incidents that you canât just explain away by saying that heâs making fun of you or being civil to you as a teammate or just being nice because thatâs how he is.Â
Because thereâs no other explanation for why he looks at you like you hung the stars in the sky, why he lifts you with a reverence that could rival the likes of Keats and Byron, why he lingers on the ice after every practice, like heâs chasing the last vestiges of your warmth.Â
And you have so many words dancing on the tip of your tongue, ways in which you can lay down your heart for him as he has done for you. But both of you know that even this stolen moment is just that: stolen time.
âShall we go back?â He offers you his hand evenly, but thereâs a tremble in his voice that gives him away. Like heâs worried that even after all of this, there was a universe in which you still donât reciprocate his feelings.Â
Your heart is screaming at you to assure him, promise that yes of course, you would accept him. But the words evaporate from your mind before you have a chance to grasp onto them. So you hope that at the very least, your actions can convey a fraction of your feelings. Hand in hand, you make your way back to the rink. No matter what the result is, you think itâll be alright if you have Dickâs shoulder to cry on after this is all over.Â
â
âAnd with a free score of 129.44 and a final score of 205.57, that puts Americaâs own duo from Gotham at third place in the Grand Prix Final!âÂ
Third, the word echoes in your head, taking you a few moments to process. Third, and there were no other American teams on the podium. Sure, it isnât exactly the most fairytale ending, but itâs better this wayâmore real. You turn to look at Dick, who youâre sure has the exact same look of astonishment that you do. You remember Brian doing the math before you guys had even made it to the venue. Based on this event and the rest of your results this season, it was clear that the two of you were the uncontested pair in the whole country.Â
âYouâre going to the Olympics!â Brian whoops, hugging the both of you and jumping for joy in a way you think only he can get away with. Youâre grinning so hard your muscles are starting to twitch but honestly you could care less about that. All of the training, all of the sleepless nights had finally paid off, and you felt like you had really, truly made it. And the fact that you did it with Dick makes it all the sweeter to you.Â
You got a medal, a boyfriend, and that day, the kiss and cry finally lived up to its name.

Found-Family headcanons for aÂł's coven of chaos, part 3: (because they all deserved more time with each other)
(part 2, here.)
(part 1, here.)
There is, of course, a group chat. Billy initially named it, âCoven of Chaosđâ but Rio changed it to âslutsâ
Jen immediately left the chat the second it was created, but Alice put her back in. There was a second escape attempt when they were all together, to which Lilia responded with an âđâ expression, which was enough to convince Jen to reluctantly stay in the group chat.
Ironically, Lilia isn't even active on the group chat. She's terrible at texting & terrible at reasing messages. (âwhy is the print so small??â)
She is, however, surprisingly nimble with her phone outside of that. She needed to figure it out for business and stuff.
Sharon also doesn't know how to use the group chat. She had a flip-phone until recentlyâand only got a new one because Billy insisted she needed it. She keeps accidentally doing group calls by miss-clicking on her phone.
Sharon always calls Alice to âcome fix her phoneâ because âit's broken again!!â Alice, each time, has to tell her that it's probably just out of battery.
Agatha is blocked on Jen's phone because she won't stop sending her spam, so they only ever text each other on the group chat, which Jen has muted.
Jen, Alice and Lilia have a separate group chat. Lilia hasn't even noticed, but they assume she has, because she leaves everything on read. In reality, she just thinks both group chats are the same group-chat and they always have to call her om the phone to make plans.
Alice wanted to add Billy to the second group chat too, but Jen told her that he'd probably be sad to not include the others so it's better that he doesn't find out.
Agatha claims she doesn't care what Billy does, but once she ran out of her house to his car because he forgot his jacket.
Billy made everyone friendship bracelets in prideflag colours, (like the ones agatha and rio wore in agatha's trial.)
âI hate braceletsâ âdon't wear it thenâ âfuck you, I'm never taking it off.â
âdo you like it? :))â *chocked up* âit's fine i guess-â
Alice, Lilia, Sharon and Rio don't even play difficult, they just wear them immediately.
Agatha and Billy love doing matching Halloween outfits. Rio and Eddie would be offended, but like. They respect the slay.
Eddie would go as hulk (haha hulkling reference) and Rio would just wear a black t-shirt that says âBOO-bsâ across her chest. And she'd draw nipples all over her body.
Billy makes them vote for best costume and he ALWAYS votes for Alice regardless of who actually has the best costume. Not because he's biasedâjust because hers are genuinely always his favourites.
Jen and Lilia will go shopping during the first weeks of October, when people start decorating for Halloween, and the moment Lilia spots a SINGLE pumpkin she starts bitching and moaning the WHOLE WAY HOME about how âthe holiday industrial complex appropriates our culture through offensive stereotypes and absurd emblems and It's full of caricatures that stem from misogyny and female domesticity and villifying powerful women and AND there's so many racial micro-aggresions and it's all just exploiting us for profit and all these decorations and advertisements are just here to pressure people to buy products and--â
Jen stopped listening ten minutes ago. She SO regrets pointing and saying, âoh, that pumpkin is so cute!â as if she doesn't know who she's hanging out with.
So, obviously Lilia never dresses up for Halloween. Jen just dresses hot, so that Lilia won't be able to be mad at her.
Lilia has... No objections to that--
Rio's favourite thing during Halloween (but also just, always) is scaring the shit out of people.
They all have weekly movie nights :)
Rio picks âcomediesâ (Horror movies, psychological thrillers, slasher films, gothic fiction, dark comedies, survival horror, anything gruesome & grotesque & body horror & gore, post-apocalyptic fiction) Sharon âcoincidentallyâ skips movie night whenever it's Rio's turn to pick a film.
Alice picked everything everywhere all at once during her last turn. Her and Lilia sobbed through it (for very different reasons) while hugging each other. Other than that, Alice usually picks action movies, crime films, and the occasional rom-com or coming-of-age.
Jen loves dramas. Any dramas. Unnecessary trope-filled miscommunication? Hit her up!
Sharon likes sitcoms and old hollywood productions with a romantic flair. She'll point at scenes and narrate stories about how, âme and my husband used to...â
Agatha watches a lot of reality tv because she loves to make fun of the people yelling at each other.
Billy will always pick musicals. (Lilia has forbidden a specific fewâand I think we all know which few.)
Hilariously, Agatha uses her next turn to force Lilia to sit through Madonna's Evita.
Lilia herself hates historical movies and always points out the inaccuracies. Same with fantasy media, she just doesn't like it. She's the pickiest of them all with movies and she always chooses total obscure wildcards that nobody has ever heard beforeâand somehow they're always the best ones.

so sorry for this (very) specific request hope it's not ocish
anyways alastor x wife reader who's a virologist / kinda a mad scientist??(girl just wants to start a apocalypse without anyone to bother her)
Like they got married for mutual benefits (whatever benefits he would gain and her having access to money for her wildest dreams) when they were humans (whether he actually loves her or not is up to you lmao)
They both die (I assume that she would die around when he died from her own negligence caused by her 'freedom' to do her work more often without actually worrying about him finding out) and she avoids him like the plague (not that hard to realize this so called radio demon is your 'husband' when you find his secret stash of 'local cuisine' in the fridge)
Then he goes missing and she finally kinda goes out of makeshift hiding, just chilling doing her evil deeds before finding about the Hazbin Hotel from some gossip
Deciding that, while redemption is most likely not gonna happen mostly for the fact she does not care, she joins Charlie's little program. For her own little project (just wants to have a angel test subject, gotta see if they can be a good carrier for her little virus)
The reader doesn't know that Alastor's back (you think she's gonna use vox tech? Or listen to the radio? Girl uses a non vox tech phone and maybe a computer and does her work) so she goes and knocks on the door to the hotel
Thinking that this shit is gonna be easy, after all her husband is gone so she won't be bothered by him. She can focus on her beautiful creations and maybe destory hell and heaven with a apocalypse for some laughs. While also getting access to heaven through Charlie somehow (maybe even Lucifer, girl doesn't know nor care)
Anyways you can just IMAGINE her surprise that right after Charlie greets her (Vaggie ofc suspicious af cause she knows damn well no sinner wants to be redeemed for the most part) then here comes the strawberry pimp coming to say hello
Would he recognize his lovely wife? Maybe
Ofc reader had a plan, and by plan I mean she just says they were married and now acts like their divorced (death do us part and we fuckin dead)
(Just for example, do what you want <3)
Anyways I'm sorry again (can you tell that I've been watching a lot of mlp infection aus :') )
A/N bestie,, i love an overly detailed request. no apologies. i hope i did it justice <3 <3 I have literally been obsessing over the whole 'we're dead. we've been parted.' reader idea. It's so fun. Also I am very sorry it took me so long to get to this. Also, I am not a woman nor am I in STEM (I'm an enby in history) so apologies if science stuff in this is bad. I'm basing the character off of Entrapta (my love) from Nate Stevenson's She-Ra remake.
Till Death Do Us Part (Alastor x Mad Scientist!Reader)
Pairing: Alastor x Reader
Warnings: Gore. Murder. Bodies. Animal cruelty (not detailed at all just like test subjects and burning ants as a kid). Viruses/plague talk. Just capital d Death all around in this one folks. Suicide and starvation briefly mentioned.

Y/n hadn't been sad when Alastor died. It didn't really even register on her radar that he was gone until the police showed up at her door. Their marriage was more of an agreement than anything else, a division of labor. Y/n was a talented virologist who came from a rather wealthy family. He got access to her money, using it to start his own radio studio, and Y/n? Well Y/n got a clean up crew.
She had always been fascinated by death. It was a morbid curiosity that had followed her since childhood. The typical 'burning ants with a magnifying glass to mass murderer' pipeline only, murder was not exactly her objective. Since learning of the Black Death in school, she had been fascinated by biological warfare and weaponry. The stories of soldiers throwing infected bodies over the walls of city's to break down their defenses? It was magnificent, masterful, absolutely awe inspiring. Living through the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918, watching how it tore through her city of New Orleans, only furthered her determination.
As soon as she had had the knowledge base to do so, she began working on bio-weapons on her own. She wanted to create a disease, to devastate the world. She wanted to watch the things around her crumble into ruin and know it was by her hand.
She'd found out about Alastor's hobby by accident. They were friends, of a sort, in that Y/n would show up randomly where ever he was and quiz him about radio waves. He worked at a radio station and she knew that. She had followed him, tracked him down. There was no reasoning behind it save he was the first person she'd really found out about that was involved in the business in New Orleans. She would pick his mind about getting the word out about things, marketing, advertising. She was prepping for the main event, for the day she finally created her magnum opus.
One day, when she had shown up unannounced at his door and broken in when he didn't respond to her knocking, Y/n had discovered him dismembering one of his victims. Alastor had stared at her, wide eyed in shock, fear and adrenaline mixing into an intoxicating combination in his veins. Y/n had just smiled.
She had been wondering about human experimentation for a while now. Animals were easy to cover up, easy to bury in the back yard but people? It had always been too risky, up until now anyways.
So it went like this: Y/n funded Alastor's dreams and he hid the side effects of hers. When he died, Y/n didn't really feel anything too strongly about it at all. Yes, it made life harder in that if she wanted to keep using human guinea pigs she'd have to figure out a way to dispose of them on her own but it also made it easier. Alastor had always been so obsessed with image, dragging her to office parties and forcing her to sit down to meals with him. Now that he was gone, she could work on her projects in peace once again. The body thing was something she would figure out along the way. She was smart and she wasn't going to let something like that stop her, not when she was this close to cracking it.
As it turns out, Alastor had been more of a help than Y/n believed. So used to his nattering and persistence, she had stopped eating. It wasn't long before she joined her husband in death. The papers of course had a field day with it. Heiress and Virologist Y/n L/n Withers Away Due to Heartbreak. Y/n L/n Starved Herself to Death and Joins her Murderer of a Husband. Virologist Commits Suicide After Revelation of Dead Husband's Criminal Deeds.
When Y/n had woken up in Hell, her whole world had been turned upside down. If there was life after death, what was the point of killing everyone on earth? She was back at square one.
Rumors were already buzzing through the streets of Hell about some new overlord, some Radio Demon, who had a strikingly similar MO to her husband. Not wanting any distractions this time around, Y/n secluded herself in the outskirts of the pride ring to reformulate her plans.
For decades she worked, trying to create a poison to wipe out the dual planes of the underworld. Work was easier here. No one questioned why she bought the things she bought, no one got upset when people went missing. Hell, no one even blinked twice if they saw her burying a body. It was a veritable paradise for Y/n.
Eventually, news reached her of the Radio Demon's disappearance. Y/n had never been the biggest fan of technology that wasn't involved in her work. In the world of the living, she had barley read the papers. All the machines in her laboratory were ones she had built herself through trial and error. But still, somehow, the news reached her and she felt elated. The last thing weighing her down, the last road block had officially been lifted.
Within seven years, she had perfected the disease. Having run tests on lower rings of Hell, she prided herself on her ability to make it so infections, so deadly. The survival was on par with that of unvaccinated human's infected by rabies. But her plan wasn't complete, no. Taking out everyone in Hell wasn't good enough, she had to figure out how to get it into Heaven as well.
That was when the perfect opportunity fell in her lap. Y/n nearly cried when she caught sight of the interview through the window of a shop selling Vox branded TVs. Charlie Morningstar, Lucifer's little brat, was creating a hotel for sinners, where they could be rehabilitated and sent to Heaven. It was perfect, almost too perfect. Y/n didn't question it, her own excitement blinding her. She barley even took the time to come up with a plan that consisted of more than get into the hotel and get her hands on an angel. She figured that was something that could be dealt with later on.
After a few days of research and snooping, she finally made her move. Having packed her bags and woven her way through the streets of Pentagram City, she found herself before the brightly lit marquee of the Hazbin Hotel. Placing her bag on the ground beside her, the test tubes and various paraphernalia inside clinked gently against one another. Raising her hand, she knocked on the door.
It was Charlie herself who answered, with wide eyes and an earnest smile. A smaller moth demon beside her crossed her arms, eyeing Y/n with doubt. It barley registered with the excitable demon, she was used to the strange looks. The new form Hell had granted her with when she died was odd, after all. She was still the same height, still held a roughly human shape, but her hair had become its own beast. It moved like secondary limbs, falling nearly to the floor from the pigtails she had tied it up into. It shot up into the air around her in joy at the sight of yet another open door in her path, this one literal rather than figurative.
"Hello!" Charlie exclaimed, "Are you here to check in?"
"Yes, check in." Y/n nodded, using her hair to pick her bag back up.
She took a step forward, trying to enter the hotel, but found her path blocked by the smaller grey demon. Her arms were uncrossed now, one of them pointing a spear right at Y/n's neck. Y/n didn't flinch, she simply looked down at it in curiosity, reaching a finger up to touch the end.
"Ow." she said flatly as the spear's tip pressed into the pad of her finger.
Raising it to her eyes, she rubbed the droplet of blood that had pooled on her pointer finger with her thumb before turning back to the spear.
"Is this..." Y/n leaned forward, grabbing the spear's shaft.
"Hey!" Vaggie yelled threateningly as Y/n crouched down, examining the weapon carefully.
"Oh my stars, this is an angelic blade, isn't it?" she exclaimed, her eyes still fixed on the spear.
"Uh..."
Vaggie was more confused now than anything and she took the slightest step away from the excited demon. Y/n followed her and soon, they were in the entry way to the hotel. Charlie watched the scene play out with mild amusement, finding her girlfriends bewildered state rather charming. She let the door fall shut.
"It is, isn't it?" Y/n asked again, "But how did you get it? Did you make it? What do you do with it? Is it more effective than normal weapons? Why a spear? I-"
"What's this, we have a new guest?" a crackling voice cut Y/n off.
"Uh, yes!" Charlie stepped in, turning to face the newcomer.
Y/n, still preoccupied with the spear, was now engaged in trying to get Vaggie to let her hold it.
"I think..." Charlie doubtfully added, her brow furrowing at the site.
"Well well well, a little devil." Alastor hummed, turning to watch the show as well, "Honestly, reminds me of someone I knew back when I was alive and kicking. Ah well, what's her name?"
"I don't... actually know that yet." Charlie admitted, fiddling with her hands a bit as she spoke, "But she seems really enthusiastic about being here!"
"It seems she more interested in that spear of Vaggie's than the idea of redemption." Alastor noted in response.
"Are either of you going to help me or are you just gonna sit and watch?" Vaggie exclaimed, trying her best to pry the spear out of Y/n's grip.
Alastor sighed and with a twirl of his microphone, a shadow arose, pulling Y/n off Vaggie. There was a split second where the smile on the girl's face fell. It quickly returned as she caught sight of what exactly had interrupted her escapades. Placing her bag on the floor with her hair, she wormed around in the shadow's arms, turning to face it. Tentatively, she poked it.
"Would you stop that?" Alastor asked, his voice thick with irritation.
Y/n poked the shadow again.
"What is this? How are you doing this?"
When no response came from the demon in question, she at last turned to face him.
"Oh."
She stilled in her movements and Alastor allowed the shadow to disappear.
"No reason to be scared." Charlie quickly stepped in, "I know Alastor here has a bit of a... reputation, but he is actually helping us at the hotel. He's really a great once you get to know him."
Alastor's smile widened as he bowed his head slightly in recognition of the praise.
"If you're going to be staying her-"
"You can't seriously be thinking of letting her stay here, Charlie." Vaggie cut in, "She's been here what, five minutes? And all thats come of it is chaos."
"Vaggie, come on, don't be like that." Charlie turned to her girlfriend, "Everyone deserves a second chance, that's the whole reason we built this place."
"But does she even want to be redeemed? I mean, what if she's... I don't know, trying to take us down from the inside out? What if she's a journalist or some shit trying to write us bad reviews?"
"You flatter me." Y/n smiled and Vaggie scoffed.
"See?"
"Isn't that all the more reason to let her in? Vaggie, if she is undercover as a journalist or something, we just have to prove to her how amazing what we're doing here is."
"I don't know... I've never seen her before, what if she's another one Vox sent?"
Y/n shook her head, sticking her tongue out slightly in disgust at this notion and Alastor chuckled. There really was something so familiar about this demon and her antics. Even if she was a tad irritating, it was a comfortable familiarity.
"Then we will figure it out, same way we did with Sir. Pentious. Okay?"
"Fine." Vaggie relented at last with a sigh.
Smiling brightly, Charlie turned back to Y/n.
"So, hi. I'm Charlie, welcome to the Hazbin Hotel! What's your name?"
Y/n's eyes flicked back and forth between Alastor and Charlie for a moment before settling on Charlie.
"Y/n L/n."
Alastor let out a little laugh of disbelief, a sound he had meant to keep in. He couldn't help it. Of course this little mess of a demon was his favorite crazy wife. Alastor had looked for Y/n on occasion, always keeping an eye on news involving anything scientific but, he had never found a trace. Not that he'd admit it but, in their time together, he had grown rather fond of the girl. Not love, never love, but a sort of familial feel. Everyone turned to face him.
"Are you alright, Alastor?" Charlie asked, walking over to him and placing a hand on his arm which he quickly brushed off.
"Yeah, do you know her or something?" Vaggie added, "Is she dangerous?"
"No..." he paused, his brow slightly furrowed, "She's my wife."
The room fell silent.
"You... you didn't recognize your own wife?" Vaggie asked in disbeleif.
"Ex-wife." Y/n corrected with a little sigh.
This was all becoming so tedious. She hadn't come here to sit and talk with people. While the spear and the shadow had been fun, they had both run their courses and she just wanted to get to work.
"I..." Alastor turned back to Y/n, "Ex-wife?"
Y/n shrugged.
"So you didn't recognize your wife and you didn't know you were divorced?" Vaggie asked, rubbing her temples, "Jesus fuck, man."
"I..." Alastor cleared his throat, "We were married when we were alive. I didn't even know she was dead yet."
"Yeah." Y/n shrugged, "Turns out all your nattering was what was keeping me alive. I forgot to eat, starved to death."
Alastor's eyes softened slightly for a moment at the notion. She had needed his care so badly that she had died with out it. It felt good, in a strange way. Satisfying. They darkened again as he recalled her earlier statement.
"Ex-wife?" he asked again, taking a step towards Y/n.
She looked up at him, her expression blank.
"Yeah?"
"When did we get a divorce!" Alastor exclaimed once he realized she would say nothing else on the matter without his prompting.
"Oh! We didn't." Y/n nodded, smiling slightly, "Now, can I go to my room?"
"No, Y/n. Why are you calling yourself my ex-wife? We are still married."
Y/n looked around at Charlie and Vaggie, seeing if they were going to back up her claim. Sighing, she turned back to Alastor.
"Do I really have to lay it out for you?" she paused and Alastor just stared at her, eyebrows raised, "Jesus. Uh, Al, we died."
"Yes...?"
"Till death do us part? That was the agreement."
"I... Well..." he was at a complete and total loss for how to respond.
She wasn't wrong, he just didn't like her answer very much.
"So... the agreement is done... yeah?"
"I mean," Alastor shook his head slightly, "I guess?"
"Great! Can someone please show me to my room now."

Mending each other's hearts II
Jesus, this took forever. I'm having so much fun writing this, for real. However I think I'll have to do a third part because GOSH do I love angstiness and suffering. One thing I also love is Jean being a wingman and such a cool friend I want to work more with that.
tw: logan is a caveman and a brute, and possibly emotionally constipated, really; a bit angsty.
I have no idea about clubs, I just googled New York clubs and picked the coolest looking.
tags: @kathieycarrerarosshley (I'm not sure if there's anybody else, sorry, I don't usually check the notes :()
Part I â Part II (You're here!!)
He basically jumped down the stairs, nearly crashing into several innocent students. Like Hell he was going to allow you to do that to yourself. You were not some cheap whore who did one-night-stands. You were so sweet, so innocent, that the thought of having anyone touch you inappropriately, rubbing themselves against your body, tainting you with their dirty hands made his stomach churn and his claws start to come out.
Despite running as if the literal Devil was chasing him, all his efforts were for nothing, because when he barged through the front doors of the mansion he could already hear the gears of your car speeding up, miles away. Fuck, he was too late; but maybe, if he traced your scent, if he went now to his motorbike he may be able to catch you and stop this madness. As he turned around, he narrowly avoided his keys being psychically thrown towards him. Jean looked at him with a determined look on her face.
âLavo, go. NOW.â Her voice commanded no objection, and for once, he would happily obey orders.
He usually was very careful with his motorbike, an old lady deserved to be treated with respect, but not tonight, there was not a second to lose. Muttering a quiet apology to his dear ride, he sped off towards the city, silently praying to a god he didnât believe in that you hadnât done anything you would regret later.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You felt a sense of excitement settle in your lower belly. Look at you, a grown adult, dressing up all cute and going on your own adventures in the Big Apple, you felt like you were going to squeal like a little girl, either that or you needed to stop the car and puke.
You knew exactly where to go, where the good stuff would be; under normal conditions you wouldnât be allowed in, so thatâs why you were planning to use your powers to sneak in. Maybe you were just some plain teacher at a private school for mutants but that didnât mean you didnât have tricks up your sleeve.
A sudden memory of the real reason this was all about, made your heart twist with ache and longing. The memory of Logan and Jean in that empty classroom would be forever engraved inside your mind, a confirmation that no matter what you did, you would never be enough. No. You mentally slapped yourself. You couldnât keep torturing yourself like that. The only thing invisible about you were your powers. Tonight, you were going to feel beautiful, appreciated, and most importantly, desired. A pang of anxiety hitted you, what if nobody notices? The real possibility of being made into a fool once again was scary and nearly made you turn away and return home with your tail between your legs. They will. Maybe it was that part of you that had been kicked long enough talking, you would never know, but it gave you enough confidence to keep going.
You made sure to park your car as far as you could, you didnât want anything to associate you with that little stunt you were about to pull. You casually walked into a nearby alleyway to turn yourself invisible, the last thing this night needed was a public scandal.Â
There was truly something magical about walking down the street while you were invisible, it made you feel confident and powerful. Nobody could harm you if they didnât know you were there. You watched couples pass by pampering each other, a group of drunk college freshmans trying their best to walk in a straight line, you could observe every single detail on them without feeling like a creep. Sometimes you wondered why you didn't have your mutation on at all times. It certainly would make your life easier.
Before you knew it, you had already arrived at your destination. Taking advantage of some rich boy skipping line, you glued yourself to his back and entered, making a little squeal that startled the poor security guard.
The place took your breath away.
Lavo was one of the most exclusive clubs in all of Manhattan. One night there (paying the entrance and restaurant, of course) would probably cost you half your salary. You knew Charles could afford it, but you werenât going to ask him to bill the start of your party girl era.
A sudden realization left you filled with embarrassment; you had entered, now what. In a desperate way to fit in, you decided that the most suitable course of action would be to look for a place to turn visible again and go for a drink.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Logan lost count of how many traffic laws he broke that night, he didnât really care. All he wanted was to reach you. Each time he imagined a worse scenario that somehow always ended with you in the arms of another man, enjoying his caresses and kisses. He panicked, making his grip on the handlebar painfully tighten. He didnât know why he was feeling like that, and he also didnât know what he would do if he found you with a suitor.
He wasnât impressed at all by the imposing building, and he was less impressed by the regulars. Bunch of spoiled rich brats, if someone asks him.
The security guard wasnât in the mood to let him in and less while looking like that, but since he didnât have time nor the patience to deal with any form of bullshit, he opted to launch him across the street with a single punch instead of pulling out his claws, leaving the crowd completely silent.
The inside was as bad as the outside, or even worse. He didnât like that place at all, too many people, too much noise and too many smells. It overwhelmed him. How the fuck was he supposed to find you there. He showed his way among the crowd, ignoring the grunts and complaints from the people surrounding him, fuck them all. His heightened senses were practically screaming at him to go wild and ravage the place until he got you.
His hunting instincts told him to look for some dark corner where he could keep a close watch on the entire club, itâd be easier, and quieter for him. He could do without all that modern music drilling his ears. Some goddamned peace and tranquility would help him focus.
He didnât need to wait for long until his eyes settled on you. On the dancefloor, with a glass in your hand, and a man glued to your back with his lips dangerously close to your neck.
Logan saw red.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
As you took a sip of your grasshopper, you wondered why you had been worried in the first place. Just one look at how that dress hugged your ass and you had several men eating from your palm. You had to confess that even if it flattered you, it was a bit suffocating having that much attention all of a sudden.
The man you had picked for the night, Kelsey? Kevin?, you hadn't heard it well with the lous music, was actually kinda nice. Out of all of the men that surrounded you he had been the only one to actually try to start some friendly conversation before hitting on you. That sweet attempt just earned him some brownie points. That and that body which seemed to have been sculpted by the gods. Damn, what did they feed him?. His hands moved closely to your hips, and you couldnât help but wish those arms that held you were bigger, and hairier. You shook your head. Focus on the Adonis right behind you. The one who was going to make you feel so good tonight. You could already imagine it.
But fantasies were just that. Fantasies.
An altercation snapped you out of your daydream. Someone was pushing his way quite violently towards the dancefloor, and by the sound of those screams of protest he wasnât being very gentle.
The blood froze in your veins when you saw who was approaching. No. How. Why. Millions of questions ran through your mind, your body screaming at you to run, but you were paralyzed with fear.
You had never seen that look on Logan.
Feral.
Wild.
Monster.
You had heard people describe him with those words since the very first day you had met him. Coming from both humans and mutants. You had never paid them any attention, being so confident in knowing that despite his gruff exterior, inside there was hidden a golden heart just as big as his muscles. But now you were considering that despite knowing that, maybe the others had some point in their arguments.
You would be lying if you said it didnât turn you on a little.
He was getting closer. Unconsciously, you put yourself in front of your dancing partner, despite knowing that whatever little mutant trick you had was useless against The Wolverineâs blind fury. Yet, you werenât going to let some innocent civilian get hurt because your friend was pissed at you for whatever stupid reason.
His eyes were unfocused, darting from one person to the other like a wild animal. You werenât sure if he was able to see you at all.
âLogan. What are you doing here?â You tried to keep your voice steady, knowing that when he got like this, anything could really set him off and then all Hell would break loose. He grunted and finally looked at you. Pupils dilating when he got a better look of you in that dress.
âHome. Now.â Among all the noise it was hard to understand him, but whatever heâd said you were sure it wouldnât benefit you in the slightest. It didn't help that those words resembled more growls than actual speech.
Your new friend, supposedly Kevin, tried to step forward, foolishly thinking he had a chance against one of the most vicious mutants to ever exist. Logan looked at him with barely restrained rage, breathing heavily. His stance, along with the strength the air came out of his nostrils reminded you of a bull ready to attack. You started fearing the worst.
Within a blink, Logan had grabbed your arm and was forcefully dragging you towards the emergency exit. You slammed your heels against the floor, trying to keep you grounded in your spot, but that only seemed to make him angrier. Quickly reaching down, he scooped you up and carried you over his broad shoulder, making you drop your drink and leaving you mortified to the point of nearly accidentally outing yourself as a mutant in a room full of people.
After what felt like the longest time of your lfe, you two made it outside that place and after several kicks and threats, he finally put you down in an alleyway where all the shame that filled you, all the embarrassment, turned into rage.
Why.
Why couldn't he let you have this?
Why wouldnât he allow you to move on?
Why did he have to keep breaking your heart over and over again? Hadnât you suffered enough?
You screamed at him, you pushed him and insulted him until your voice became hoarse. The force of your screams were drowned by the sound of an incoming storm. And he just stood there, taking it all in stride, just looking at you, like a marble statue. A less wise person would have thought he was bored, just waiting for you to scream your heart out and finish your tantrum. But his eyes, oh his gorgeous eyes that always made you melt, were filled with emotion. Could be guilt, could be pain, could be grief, they were passing far too quickly for you to notice.
Yet he still didnât say anything which only fueled your anger. The nerve of him, the fucking audacity. You felt mocked, humiliated, the laughingstock of Xavierâs School; a silly woman in her early thirties with a pathetic little girl crush on a man who wouldnât give her the time of the day.
You slapped him as hard as you could.
Probably not the smartest thing given his bones were made of the toughest metal to ever exist which you instantly felt when your hand made contact with his cheek. You bit your lip, trying to swallow down the agonizing scream of pain that was crawling up your throat to get out.
That made him react, his expression changing into one of concern. He tried to say something, move closer to you and check your hand, but you stepped back, your back pressed against the brick wall.
Holding your injured hand with your other, you lowered your head. Rain started pouring on you both, drenching your carefully groomed hair and wiping all that expensive makeup away. But at least it would hide the tears that fell freely though your cheeks.Â
What a mess you were, drenched like a wet cat, with your makeup ruined and sobbing while the man of your dreams just watched you with pity. You should leave and lock yourself in your room. Turning invisible again, you tried to make your exit towards your car, knowing it would be a long walk full of cries and sobs, but his arm blocked you, damn that sharp sense of smell. you turned around and his other arm blocked you again, effectively trapping you between himself and the wall.
Suddenly you found yourself very tired, of his games, of being screwed over and over again, of your emotional burst. You just wanted to go home, take a bath, and sleep. You couldnât do this anymore.
âPlease. I want to go home.â There must have been something in your voice so broken that caused him to immediately take action. Logan suddenly had the decency to look a bit ashamed of himself, after that stunt he pulled off at the club, however you couldnât care less right now. Muttering a quick âyeahâ he slowly pulled away from you, and awkwardly stepped back.
Not being used to walking on heels, you would have fell face first against the ground, putting the icing on the cake of that terrible night, had not a pair of strong arms caught you and lifted you into a bridal carry.
Not so long ago, you would have been all over the moon at this gesture. Logan Howlett, the hunk of the X-Mansion, carrying you like a princess. Yeah, the old you would have loved that.
Right now you were feeling too emotionally numb to care. Even when his arms pulled you closer to his chest, even when he softly pressed his lips against the crown of your head.
You just couldnât feel anything.

Manipulative/Morally Grey Dumbledore? An In-Depth Canon Analysis
So when I look at Harry Potter, my goal is to separate what I think the books are intending to say, from what they actually say, from what the movies say⌠and what the common fan interpretation is. So today Iâm interested in Dumbledore, and specifically in the common headcanon of Manipulative/Morally Gray Dumbledore. Is that (intentionally or unintentionally) supported by the text?
PART I: Â Omniscient Dumbledore
âI think he knows more or less everything that goes on hereâ
In Book 1, yes Dumbledore honestly does seem to know everything. He 100% arranged for Harry to find the Mirror of Erised, publicly left Hogwarts in order to nudge Quirrell into going after the Stone, and knew what Quirrell was doing the whole time. It is absolutely not a stretch, and kind of heavily implied, that the reason the Stoneâs protections feel like a little-end-of-the-year exam designed to put Harry through his paces⌠is because they are. As the series goes on this interpretation only gets more plausible, when we see the kind of protections people can put up when they donât want anyone getting through.Â
Book 1 Dumbledore knows everything⌠but what heâs actually going to do about it is anyoneâs guess. One of the first things we learn is that some of Dumbledoreâs calls can be⌠questionable. McGonagall questions his choice to leave Harry with the Dursleys, Hermione questions his choice to give Harry the Cloak and let him go after the Stone, Percy and Ron both matter-of-factly call him âmad.â The ânitwit, blubber, oddment, tweakâ speech is a joke where Dumbledore says heâs going to say a few words, then literally does say a few (weird) words. I know there are theories that those particular words are supposed to be insulting the four houses, or referencing the Hogwarts house stereotypes, or that theyâre some kind of warning. But within the text, this is pure Lewis Carroll British Nonsense Verse stuff (and people came up with answers to the impossible Alice in Wonderland âwhy is a raven like a writing deskâ riddle too.)Â
This characterization also explains a lot of Dumbledoreâs decisions about how to run a school, locked in during Book 1. Presumably Binns, Peeves, Filch, Snape are all there because Dumbledore finds them funny, atmospheric, and/or character building. He's just kind of a weird guy. He absolutely knew that Lockhart was a fraud in Book 2 (with that whole âImpaled upon your own sword, Gilderoy?â thing after Lockhart oblivates himself. ) So maybe he is also there to be funny/atmospheric/character building, or to teach Harry a lesson about fame, or because Dumbledore is using the cursed position to bump off people he doesnât like. Who knows.
(I actually donât think JKR had locked in âthe DADA position is literally cursed by Voldemortâ until Book 6. )
Dumbledore absolutely knows that Harry is listening in when Lucius Malfoy comes to take Hagrid to Azkaban, and itâs fun to speculate that maybe he let himself get fired in Book 2 as part of a larger plan to boot Lucius off the Board of Governors. So far, thatâs the sort of thing heâd do. But in Books 3 and 4, we are confronted with a number of important things that Dumbledore just missed. He doesnât know any of the Marauders were animagi, he doesnât know what really happened with the Potterâs Secret Keeper, doesnât know Moody is Crouch, and doesnât know the Marauders Map even exists. But in Books 5 and 6, his omniscience does seem to come back online. (In a flashback, Voldemort even comments that he is "omniscient as everâ when Dumbledore lists the specific Death Eaters he has in Hogsmeade as backup.) Dumbledore knows exactly what Draco and Voldemort are planning, and his word is taken as objective truth by the entire Order of the Phoenix - who apparently only tolerate Snape because Dumbledore vouches for him:
âSnape,â repeated McGonagall faintly, falling into the chair. âWe all wondered . . . but he trusted . . . always . . . Snape . . . I canât believe it. . . .â âSnape was a highly accomplished Occlumens,â said Lupin, his voice uncharacteristically harsh. âWe always knew that.â âBut Dumbledore swore he was on our side!â whispered Tonks. âI always thought Dumbledore must know something about Snape that we didnât. . . .â âHe always hinted that he had an ironclad reason for trusting Snape,â muttered Professor McGonagall (...) âWouldnât hear a word against him!â
McGonagall questions Dumbledore about the Dursleys, but not about Snape. I see this as part of the larger trend of basically Dumbledoreâs deification. In the beginning of the series, heâs treated as a clever, weird dude. By the end, heâs treated like a god.Â
PART II: Chessmaster Dumbledore
âI prefer not to keep all my secrets in one basket.â
When Dumbledore solves problems, he likes to go very hands-off. He didnât directly teach Harry about the Mirror of Erised - he gave him the Cloak, knew he would wander, and moved the Mirror so it would be in his path. He sends Snape to deal with Quirrell and Draco, rather than do it himself. He (or his portrait) tells Snape to confund Mundungus Fletcher and get him to suggest the Seven Potters strategy. He puts Mrs. Figg in place to watch Harry, then ups the protection in Book 5 - all without informing Harry. The situation with Slughorn is kind of a Dumbledore-manipulation master class - even the way he deliberately disappears into the bathroom so Harry will have enough solo time to charm Slughorn. Of course he only wants Slughorn under his roof in the first place to pick his brain about Voldemort⌠but again, instead of doing that himself, he gets Harry to do it for him.Â
Dumbledore has a moment during Harryâs hearing in Book 5 (which he fakes evidence for) where he informs Fudge that Harry is not under the Ministryâs jurisdiction while at Hogwarts. Which has insane implications. Itâs never explicitly stated, but as the story goes on, it at least makes sense that Dumbledore is deliberately obscuring how powerful he is, and how much influence he really has, by getting other people to do things for him. But the problem with that is because he is so powerful, it become really easy for a reader to look back after they get more information and say⌠well if Dumbledore was controlling the situation⌠why couldnât he have done XYZ. Here are two easy examples from Harryâs time spent with the Dursleys:
1. Mrs. Figg is watching over Harry from day one, but she canât tell him sheâs a squib and also she has to keep him miserable on purpose:
âDumbledoreâs orders. I was to keep an eye on you but not say anything, you were too young. Iâm sorry I gave you such a miserable time, but the Dursleys would never have let you come if theyâd thought you enjoyed it. It wasnât easy, you knowâŚâ
Itâs pretty intense to think of Dumbledore saying âoh yes, invite this little child over and keep him unhappy on purpose.â But okay. Itâs important to keep Harry ignorant of the magical world and vice versa. fine. But once he goes to Hogwarts⌠that doesnât apply anymore? Iâm sure when Harry thinks heâs going to be imprisoned permanently in his bedroom during Book 2, it wouldâve been comforting to know that Dumbledore was sending around someone to check on him. And when he literally runs away from home in Book 3⌠having the address of a trusted adult that he could easily get to would have been great for everybody.Â
2. When Vernon is about to actually kick Harry out during Book 5, Dumbledore sends a howler which intimidates Petunia into insisting that Harry has to stay. Vernon folds and does exactly what she says. If Dumbledore could intimidate Petunia into doing this, then why couldnât he intimidate her into, say - giving Harry the second bedroom instead of a cupboard. Or fixing Harryâs glasses. In Book 1, the Dursleys donât bother Harry during the entire month of August because Hagrid gives Dudley a pigâs tail. In the summer between third and fourth year, the Dursleys back off because Harry is in correspondence with Sirius (a person they fear.) But the Dursleys are afraid of all wizards. Like at this point it doesnât seem that hard to intimidate them into acting decently to Harry.Â
PART III: Dumbledore and the DursleysÂ
âNot a pampered little princeâ
JKR wanted two contradictory things. She wanted Dumbledore to be a fundamentally good guy: a wise, if eccentric mentor figure. But she also wanted Harry to have a comedically horrible childhood being locked in a cupboard, denied food, given broken glasses and ill fitting/embarrassing clothes, and generally made into a little Cinderella. Then, itâs a bigger contrast when he goes to Hogwarts and expulsion can be used as an easy threat. (Although the only person we ever see expelled is Hagrid, and that was for murder.)
So, there are a couple of tricks she uses to make it okay that Dumbledore left Harry at the Dursleys.â The first is that once Harry leavesâŚÂ nothing that happens there is given emotional weight. When heâs in the Wizarding World, he barely talks about Dursleys, barely thinks about them. They almost never come up in the narration (unless Harryâs worried about being expelled, or theyâre sending him comedically awful presents.) They are completely cut from movies 4, 6, and 7 part 2 - and you do not notice.Â
The second trick⌠is that Dumbledore himself clearly doesnât think that the Dursleys are that bad. During the Kingâs Cross vision-quest, he describes 11-year-old Harry as âalive and healthy (...) as normal a boy as I could have hoped under the circumstances. Thus far, my plan was working well.â Â
Now, this could have been really interesting. Like in a psychological way, I get it. Dumbledore had a rocky home life. Dad in prison, mom spending all her time taking care of his volatile and dangerous sister. Aberforth seems to have reacted to the situation by running completely wild, itâs implied that he never even had formal schooling⌠and Albus doubled down on being the Golden Child, making the family look good from the outside, and finding every means possible to escape. I would have believed it if Molly or Kingsley had a beat of being horrified by the way the Dursleys are treating Harry⌠but Dumbledore treats it as like, whatever. Business as usual.Â
But that isnât the framing that the books use. Dumbledore is correct that the Dursleys arenât that bad, and I think itâs because JKR fundamentally does not take the Dursleys seriously as threats. I also think she has a fairly deeply held belief that suffering creates goodness, so possibly Harry suffering at the hands of the Dursleys⌠was necessary? To make him good? Dumbledore himself has an arc of âlong period of suffering = increased goodness.â So does Severus Snape, Dudleyâs experience with the Dementor kickstarts his character growth, etc. Itâs a trope she likes.
Itâs only in The Cursed Child that the Dursleys are given any kind of weight when it comes to Harryâs psyche. This is one of the things that makes me say Jack Thorne wrote that play, because itâs just not consistent with how JKR likes to write the Dursleys. Itâs consistent with the way fanfiction likes to write the Dursleys. And look, The Cursed Child is fascinatingly bad, I have so many problems with it, but it does seem to be doing like ⌠a dark reinterpretation of Harry Potter? And itâs interested in saying something about cycles of abuse. I can absolutely see how the way the play handles things is flattering to JKR. It retroactively frames the Dursleysâ abuse in a more negative way, and maybe thatâs something she wanted after criticism that the Harry Potter books treat physical abuse kind of lightly. (i.e. Harry at the hands of the Dursleys, and house-elves at the hands of everybody. Even Molly Weasley âwallopsâ Fred with a broomstick.)Â
PART IV: Dumbledore and Harry
âThe whole PotterâDumbledore relationship. Itâs been called unhealthy, even sinisterâ
So whenever Harry feels betrayed by Dumbledore in the books - and he absolutely does, itâs some of JKRâs best writing - itâs not because he left him with the Dursleys. Itâs because Dumbledore kept secrets from him, or lied to him, or didnât confide in him on a personal level.Â
âLook what he asked from me, Hermione! Risk your life, Harry! And again! And again! And donât expect me to explain everything, just trust me blindly, trust that I know what Iâm doing, trust me even though I donât trust you! Never the whole truth! Never!â (...) I donât know who he loved, Hermione, but it was never me. This isnât love, the mess heâs left me in. He shared a damn sight more of what he was really thinking with Gellert Grindelwald than he ever shared with me.â
Eventually though, Harry falls in line with the rest of the Order, and treats Dumbledore as an all-knowing God. And this decision comes so close to being critiquedâŚÂ but the series never quite commits. Rufus Scrimgeour comments that, âWell, it is clear to me that [Dumbledore] has done a very good job on youâ - implying that Harry is a product of a deliberate manipulation, and that the way Harry feels about Dumbledore is a direct result of how he's been controlling the situation (and Harry.) But Harry responds to â[You are] Dumbledoreâs man through and through, arenât you, Potter?â with âYeah, I am. Glad we straightened that out,â and itâs treated as a badass, mic drop line.Â
Ron goes on to say that Harry maybe shouldnât be trusting Dumbledore and maybe his plan isnât that great⌠but then he abandons his friends, regrets what he did, and is only able to come back because Dumbledore knew he would react this way? So that whole thing only makes Dumbledore seem more powerful? Aberforth tells Harry (correctly) that Dumbledore is expecting too much of him and heâs not interested in making sure that he survives:
âHow can you be sure, Potter, that my brother wasnât more interested in the greater good than in you? How can you be sure you arenât dispensable (...) Why didnât he say⌠âTake care of yourself, hereâs how to surviveâ? (...) Youâre seventeen, boy!â
But, Aberforth is treated as this Hamish Abernathy type who has given up, and needs Harry to ignite his spark again. Thereâs a pretty dark line in the script of Deathly Hallows Part 2:
Which at least shows this was a possible interpretation the creative team had in their heads⌠but then of course it isnât actually in the movie.Â
So in the end, insane trust in Dumbledore is only ever treated as proper and good. Then in Cursed Child they start using âDumbledoreâ as an oath instead of âMerlinâ and itâs weird and I donât like it.
PART V: Dumbledore and his Strays
âI have known, for some time now, that you are the better man.â
So Dumbledore has this weird relationship pattern. He has a handful of people he pulled out of the fire at some point and (as a result) these people are insanely loyal to him. They do his dirty work, and he completely controls them. This is an interesting pattern, because I think it helps explain why so many fans read Dumbledoreâs relationship with Snape (and with Harry) as sinister.Â
Letâs start with the first of Dumbledoreâs âstrays.â Dumbledore saves Hagrid's livelihood and probably life after he is accused of opening the Chamber of Secrets - and then he uses Hagrid to disappear Harry after the Potters' death, gets him to transport the Philosopherâs Stone, and heâs the one who he trusts to be Harryâs first point of contact with the Wizarding World. Also, Hagrid's situation doesnât change? Even after he is cleared of opening the Chamber of Secrets, he keeps using that pink flowered umbrella with his broken wand inside, a secret that he and Dumbledore seem to share. He could get a legal wand, he could continue his education. But he doesnât seem to, and I donât know why.Â
So, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality is a well known fix-it fic that basically asks âWhat if Harry Potter was a machiavellian little super genius who solves the plot in a year?â I enjoyed it when it was coming out, but the only thing I would call a cheat is the way McGonagall brings Harry to Diagon Alley instead of Hagrid. Because a Harry Potter who has spent a couple of days with McGonagall is going to be much better informed, better equipped and therefore more powerful than a Harry spending the same amount of time with Hagrid. McGonagall is both a lot more knowledgeable and a lot less loyal to Dumbledore. She is loyal, obviously, but she also questions his choices in a way that Hagrid never does. And as a result, Dumbledore does not trust her with the same kind of delicate jobs he trusts to Hagrid.
Mrs. Figg is another one of Dumbledoreâs strays. Sheâs a squib, so we can imagine that she doesnât really have a lot of other options, and he sets her up to keep tabs on (and be unpleasant to) little Harry. He also has her lie to the entire Wizangamot, which has got to present some risk. Within this framework, Snape is another very clear stray. Dumbledore kept him out of Azkaban, and is the only reason that the Order trusts him. He gets sent on on dangerous double-agent missions⌠but before that heâs sort of kept on hand, even though heâs clearly miserable at Hogwarts. Firenze is definitely a stray - he can't go back to the centaurs, and who other than Dumbledore is going to hire him? And I do wonder about Trelawney. We donât know much about her relationship with Dumbledore, but I wouldnât be at all surprised if she was a stray as well.
I think there was an attempt to turn Lupin into a stray that didnât⌠quite work. He is clearly grateful to Dumbledore for letting him attend Hogwarts and then for hiring him, but Lupin doesnât really hit that necessary level of trustworthy that the others do. Most of what Dumbledore doesnât know in Book 3 are things that Lupin could have told him, and didnât. If had to think of a Watsonsian reason why Remus is given all these solo missions away from the other Order members (that never end up matteringâŚ) itâs because I donât think Dumbledore trusts him that much. Lupin doubts him too much.Â
âDumbledore believed that?â said Lupin incredulously. âDumbledore believed Snape was sorry James was dead? Snape hated James. . . .â
We also see Dumbledore start the process of making Draco into a stray by promising to protect him and his parents. And with all of that⌠itâs kind of easy to see how Harry fits the profile. He has a very bleak existence (which Dumbledore knows about.) He is pulled out of it by Dumbledoreâs proxies. Itâs not surprising that Harry develops a Hagrid-level loyalty, especially after Dumbledore saves him from Barty, from his Ministry hearing, and then from Voldemort. Harry walks to his death because Dumbledore told him too.Â
Just to be clear, I donât think this pattern is deliberate. I think this is a side effect of JKR wanting to write Dumbledore as a nice guy, and specifically as a protector of the little guy. But Dumbledore doing that while also being so powerful creates a weird power dynamic, gives him a weird edit. Itâs part of the reason people are happy to go one step farther and say that the Dursleys were mean to Harry⌠because Dumbledore actively wanted it that way. I donât think thatâs true. I think Dumbledore loves his strays and if anything, the text supports the idea that he is collecting good people, because protecting them and observing them serves some psychological function for him. Dumbledore does not believe himself to be an intrinsically good person, or trustworthy when it comes to power. So, of course someone like that would be fascinated by how powerless people operate in the world, and by people like Hagrid and Lupin and Harry, who seem so intrinsically good.Â
PART VI - Dumbledore and Grindelwald
âI was in love with you.âÂ
I honestly see â17-year-old Dumbledore was enamored with Grindelwaldâ as a smokescreen distracting from the actual moral grayness of the guy. He wrote some edgy letters when he was a teenager, at least partly because he thought his neighbor was hot. He thought he could move Ariana, but couldnât - which led to the chaotic three-way duel that killed her.Â
One thing I think J. K. Rowling does understand pretty well, and introduces into her books on purpose, is the concept of re-traumatization. Sirius in Book 5 is very obviously being re-traumatized by being in his childhood home and hearing the portrait of his mother screaming. Itâs why he acts out, regresses, and does a number of unadvisable things. I think itâs also deliberate that Petuniaâs unpleasant childhood is basically being re-created: her normal son next to her sisterâs magical son. It's making her worse, or at the very least preventing her from getting better. We learn that Petunia has this sublimated interest in the magical world, and can even pull out vocab like âAzkabanâ and âDementorâ when she needs to. Â She wrote Dumbledore asking to go to Hogwarts, and I could see that in a universe where Petunia didnât have to literally raise Harry, she wouldnât be as psychotically into normalness, cleanliness, and order as she is when we meet her in the books. After all, JKR doesnât like to write evil mothers. She will be bend over backwards so her mothers are never really framed as bad.
And I honestly think itâs possible that J. K. Rowling was playing with the concept of re-traumatiziation when she was fleshing out Dumbledore in Book 7. We learn all this backstory, that⌠honestly isnât super necessary? All Iâm saying is that the three-way duel at the top of the Astronomy Tower lines up really well with the three-way duel that killed Ariana. Harry is Ariana, helpless in the middle. Draco is Aberforth, well intentioned and protective of his family - but kind of useless, and kind of a liability. Severus is Grindelwald, dark and brilliant, and one of the closest relationships Dumbledore has. If this was intentional, it was probably only for reasons of narrative symmetry⌠but I think it's cool in a Gus Fring of Breaking Bad sort of way, that Dumbledore (either consciously or unconsciously) has been trying to re-create this one horrible moment in his life where he felt entirely out of control. But the second time it plays out⌠he can give it what he sees as the correct outcome. Grindelwald kills him and everyone else lives. That is how you solve the puzzle.
If you read between the lines, Dumbledore/Grindelwald is a fascinating love story. I like the detail that after Arianaâs death, Dumbledore returns to Hogwarts because itâs a place to hide and because he doesnât feel like he can be trusted with power. I like that he sits there, refusing promotions, refusing requests to be the new Minister of Magic, refusing to go deal with the growing Grindelwald threat until he absolutely canât hide anymore, at which point he defeats him (somehow.) I like reading his elaborate plan to break Elder Wandâs power as both a screw-you to Grindelwald, the wandâs previous master, but also as a weirdly romantic gesture. In Albus Dumbledoreâs mind, there is only Grindelwald. Voldemort canât even begin to compare. I like the detail that Grindelwald wonât give up Dumbledore, even under torture. And, Dumbledore doesnât put him in Azkaban. He put him in this other separate prison, which always makes it seem like heâs there under Dumbledore authority specifically. Maybe Dumbledore thinks that if he had died that day instead of ArianaâŚhe wouldnât have had to spend the rest of his life fighting and imprisoning the man he loves.
And then of course, Crimes of Grindelwald decided to take away Dumbledore's greatest weakness and say that no, actually he was a really good guy who never did anything wrong ever. He went all that time without fighting Grindelwald because they made a magical friendship no-fight bracelet. Dumbledore is randomly grabbing Lupinâs iconography (his fashion sense, his lesson plans, his job) in order to feel more soft and gentle than the person the books have created. Now Dumbledore knows about the Room Requirement, even though in the books itâs a plot point that he's too much of a goody-two-shoes to have ever found it himself. He loved Grindelwald (past tense.) And Secrets of Dumbledore is mostly about him being an omniscient mastermind so that a magical deer can tell him that he was a super good and worthy guy, and any doubt that heâs ever felt about himself is just objectively wrong and incorrect. Also now Aberforth has a neglected son, so heâs reframed as a bit of a hypocrite for getting on his brotherâs case for not protecting Harry.Â
So to summarize, I think Dumbledore began the series as this very eccentric, unpredictable mentor, whose abilities took a hit in Books 3 and 4 in order to make the plot happen. He teetered on the edge of a âdarkâ framing for like a second⌠but at the the end of the series he's written as basically infallible and godlike. Iâve heard people say that JKRâs increased fame was the reason she added the Rita Skeeter plot line, and I donât think thatâs true. But I do think her fame may have affected the way she wrote Dumbledore. Because Dumbledore is JKRâs comment on power, and by Book 5 she had so much power. In her head, I donât think that Dumbledore is handing off jobs in a manipulative way. She sees him as empowering other less powerful people. That is his job as someone in power (because remember - people who desire power shouldn't wield it.)
Dumbledoreâs power makes him emotionally disconnected from the people in his life, it makes him disliked and distrusted by the Ministry, but it doesnât make him wrong. Thatâs important. Dumbledore is never wrong. Dumbledore is always good. Thatâs why we get the Blood Pact that means he was never weak or procrastinating. Thatâs why we get the qilin saying he was a good person. Itâs why we get the tragic backstory (because giving Snape a tragic backstory worked wonders when it came to rehabilitating him.) And that is why Harry names his son Albus Severus in the epilogue, to make us readers absolutely crystal clear that these two are good men.Â

I got a question but I need an objective answer please. So I saw a lot of people complain about Yui being written in a very bad way in Ayatoâs routes starting with More Blood and was curious if you think that she became a bad girlfriend as the story progressed?
// I will analyze Yuiâs versions from Ayatoâs routes and provide an answer at the end of this post.
More Blood:
Even from the first two chapters we are aware of the fact that Yui got a big crush on Ayato merely because of his looks and pleasure he gave her. At first sight, these reasons seem very superficial, but at the same time you canât blame her completely for that. Yui went to a normal school and used to read magazines for teens, therefore itâs obvious she would have hormones and fall in love with someone who got features portrayed as the beauty standard.
It's understandable why some found her annoying, as she repeatedly cried for Ayato's love without making any real effort to earn it. Apart from giving him her blood, she didn't try to understand what he was going through, even when she noticed changes in him that made him crave so much blood.
Nevertheless, I believe that she did redeem herself in the last chapters, where she admitted being selfish and only thinking about her own desires, instead of focusing on Ayatoâs struggles too. I know she paralyzed him out of jealousy and cheated on him in the bad endings, but in the good one, sheâs actually a really loyal person. Yui waited years for Ayato to wake up from the coma and Ayato searched for Yui for years in his dream until he finally woke up. This ending confirmed the genuineness of their love.
In the After Story, Ayato planned to attend university for Yui's sake, aiming to get a job and buy a house. Yui helped Ayato with his studies and praised his skills. Initially, she fell for his looks, but in the After Story, she mentioned falling in love with him again because of his caring, determined, and hardworking personality.
Vandead Carnival & Lunatic Parade:
I really liked Yui in both of Ayato's routes and honestly, I can't find anything to criticize about her behavior.
It's not that Yui was a bad partner; it's just that Ayato was portrayed as too good, such as when he ran through flames for her or protected her from a bomb explosion. But that's likely because these are fan service games, where the love interests are designed to be your knights in shining armor. xD
Dark Fate:
I absolutely loved Yuiâs portrayal in that route. It was the sweetest version of Yui Iâve ever seen, and I really enjoyed seeing her so happy and soft. Regarding her relationship with Ayato, he was truly the apple of her eye, lol.
The only problematic thing she did was pushing Ayato to face his abuser, Cordelia, even though he didnât want to. I honestly donât care if a character does something to another character, as long as it doesnât affect them and the story, so since Ayato didnât get mad at her for that, I didnât mind it much either. However, from an objective point of view, I agree that doing such a thing is quite bad. Being in the presence of someone who ruined your life can trigger intense memories and forcing a confrontation removes the victim's agency in deciding how to cope with their trauma. Ayato might not have been mad at Yui for planning that, but if it had been Laito, Iâm sure he would have shown why Yui was in the wrong.
Other than that, she was a kind and supportive girlfriend throughout the whole route, clearly having no ill intent, and I appreciate that she had an actual important role in the route.
Lost Eden:
Ok, I really canât defend her anymore there. She literally had no redeeming qualities, no matter how many times she got the chance to fix herself. I discussed my thoughts about LE Yui in this post, but Iâll sum it up.
She tried to convince Ayato that despite Cordelia abusing him, she actually did it because she âcared about his futureâ, and then acted surprised when Ayato started feeling uncomfortable because of her words.
Yui knew the reasons behind Ayatoâs behavior, yet when his brothers started mocking him, she didnât even try to defend him. Everyone ganged up on Ayato, and he was on the verge of a panic attack, yet she remained silent.
Another terrible scene was in one of the last chapters, when Ruki admitted to turning the Vibora Clan and Church organization against Ayato out of envy, aiming to kill him. Instead of criticizing Rukiâs actions, Yui justified them and spoke ill of Ayato behind his back. I wouldnât like to date someone who claims to love me but keeps hurting me without learning anything⌠It felt as if Ayato only continued being together with her because he had no one else. No wonder he didnât marry her there.
Chaos Lineage:
I found Yui quite boring in CL in general, but she started off as determined and sweet in his route, so I liked that.
For most of the route, Yuiâs entire personality seemed to revolve around Ayato, and she didnât do much. There were many cheesy moments between them that made me cringe. Still, Iâm sure a certain audience enjoyed those.
My only complaint is that when his brothers started treating Ayato unfairly, despite the fact that he came up with the idea of breaking the glass floor of the church, Yui did nothing to defend him, again.
However, I do appreciate that she gave him that adorable monologue. I just wish she had done it in front of others instead of only acting when Ayato was already insecure and sad.
Now⌠letâs see what kind of girlfriend Yui was in each route by judging her progress:
MB: Good
VC: Good
DF: Very good
LP: Good
LE: Very bad
CL: Decent

summary: you and your boyfriend shed blood, sweat and tears in order to have perfectly wrapped christmas gifts. a/n: rafayel cries when really angry (i'm projecting) also you would think that last week of uni before christmas break would be all vibes but no instead you have to fight to survive (he says, as he wrote it during lecture) (I couldn't care less anymore tbh) (the professor literally was poorly reading from a presentation) (like dude you could sent it to us and we all could go home) cw: none
series masterlist
has no clue what is happening, is here for the vibes
"⌠and then you're done!" The person in the tutorial shows their perfectly wrapped gift. You look down at you, and while it's looking a little funky, it still looks similar to what was shown on the tutorial.
"That was pretty easy, right Xavier?" You look at you boyfriend, smiling. Then, you look down at how his gift looks like and you couldn't help but laugh.
His gift was a mess. The only thing it had the same as the tutorial is the fact that wrapping paper was used.
"Why didn't you say you're struggling? I could help you or we could watch the tutorial again" you look at Xavier, trying to figure out what he's thinking.
"I had fun, there was no point in stopping" the replies, smiling at you. Your heart squeezes at the sight of Xavier and his pure innocence.
good at wrapping, but gets mad easily
The wrapping on your part was going rather smoothly, the gifts you were tasked with wrapping were rather easy with them being simple boxes, since Rafayel decided to do the more complicated ones as the 'master wrapper' he claims to be. You were about to grab another one, signing along to the song that's playing in the background, when you heard Rafayel mumbling swear words under his breath.
"You ok over there?" You ask, looking over at your boyfriend.
"Yeah" he's not and you know that. His voice was shaking and his face was twisted in anger. You looked down at his hands to check what was making him feel that way. He was struggling with wrapping a particularly weird-shaped object.
"Raf, it's impossible to wrap to let's just throw in in a bag or something hm?" You put a hand on his shoulder and rub it in comforting manner.
"Yeah your right" Rafayel looks up to blink away the tears that were trying to spill from his eyes. You grab a bag,one of the few you bought just in case and let your boyfriend put the object in it.
avoids it, would rather pay/force someone else to do it for him
You hear Sylus sigh for like the fifth time in the last hour. It got to the point that you regret wanting to do it with him in the first place.
"Less sighing, more working, Sylus" you don't have to look up at him to know he's rolled his eyes the moment you said that.
"We wouldn't have to work, if you went with my plan" his voice has a sassy tone to it, his arms crossed
"We're not letting other people wrap gifts for OUR friends and family" you stand your ground and another sigh leaves your boyfriend's lips.
Then, out of nowhere, Sylus is right next to you, wrapping his strong arms around you from the back. He starts leaving soft kisses along your neck, hoping it would pull you away from work.
"It's not gonna work, Sylus. Get back to wrapping" you push him away from you.
"Worth a shot" he shrugs.
god-like wrapping skills AND super patient with your lack of skills
You watch Zayne skillfully wrap each and every gift with ease, his face in full focus that you usually see him have when he's doing patients paperwork.
"You know, if you actually did something else other than staring at me, we would be done by now" Zayne doesn't even look up from the gifts he's currently working on.
"How can I focus, when I have my boyfriend looking all hot while wrapping gifts" you lean against the table, smirking at him. "Besides, I have no clue how to wrap that thing"
"I'll show you" and boy he does. After finishing up with the gift he was working on, he comes closer to you. The two of you are so close, you can feel his warmth.
Zayne shows you all the tricks he knows when it comes to wrapping weirdly shaped objects. Even when you mess up something, he's there to help either guiding your hands or taking over and fixing it.
