How to build your own unique scent combo
✮⋆˙The Basics: Smelling good starts in the shower & ends in a spritz!
1. Pick a body wash to serve as your foundational fragrance 2. Choose a scrub to compliment your body wash 3. Use scented lotion/body cream from head to toe 4. Apply a fragrance oil to your pulse points: neck, chest, crook of your elbows, wrists, behind your knees, and ankles 5. Spray a fragrance mist all over 6. Choose a perfume to lock everything in
✮⋆˙Base Notes, Middle Notes, and Top Notes: The building blocks of fragrance
To put it simply:
Base notes: The foundational scent that adds warmth and depth to your fragrance, the last thing you smell in your mix and what lasts the longest of all notes
Middle notes: The bridge between base and top notes; seamlessly ties scents together. The main course of the fragrance!
Top notes: The initial scent you smell, the loudest scent in a fragrance for the first few minutes
⋅₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧‧
。゚゚・。・゚゚。
゚。Homework
゚·. .·゚
Search the fragrance notes of your favorite perfume on Fragrantica!
Go to Bath and Body Works and smell different body sprays, then flip the bottle around to see the notes on the back
Find the common notes you like when comparing your favorite scents. Do you notice a pattern of fruity notes? Musky? Sweet?
!! : Once you have an idea of what notes you like and what they smell like paired with other notes, you’ll have a better understanding of how to maximize your scent building and layering.
Now to Layer……
Pick a theme for your scent combo. Here’s an example of my combo when I’m in the mood to smell fruity and tropical:

°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
✮⋆˙So let’s build a hypothetical scent combo together, shall we? Let's say I want to smell like a chocolate banana crepe. Random scent that doesn’t exist, right?
⭒˚I’d probably start off with a body wash that has some sort of nutmeg, cinnamon, or amber scent. Or maybe something with a gourmand accord note.
Here are some body wash options I’d consider for this combo: Olay - Sugar & Cocoa Butter Philosophy - Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere Bath and Body Works - Christmas Cookies Caress - Shea Butter & Brown Sugar
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
⭒˚Next up is a scrub. I’d look for something with similar notes, but not exactly the same. Maybe this time something to represent the banana or sweetness of a crepe. If you can find a matching scrub, that works too– but I personally like to mix and match to really make my own scent.
Here are some body scrub options I’d consider for this combo: Soap & Glory - Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub Dove - Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk Dove - Hot Cocoa Swirl
!! : Body wash and scrubs are pretty forgiving. Remember, you don't have to stick to strict fragrance notes to pull off a scent combo– venture out! Pair whatever you think might smell good together. Smell is subjective :)
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
⭒˚Next is a body moisturizer of some kind. This can be a body cream, lotion, body butter, or even body oil (though I’m not too well versed in body oils). Since we have the basics covered, now I can either double up on some notes or introduce new notes like whipped cream, vanilla, chocolate fudge, etc.
Here are some moisturizer options I’d consider for this combo: Kwailnara - Banana Milk Being Frenshe - Moon Milk Bodycology - Whipped Vanilla
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
⭒˚Moving on to fragrance oil. Again, doubling up or introducing new notes.
Here are some fragrance oil options I’d consider for this combo: Al-rehab - Choco Musk Roll On Oil H&M - Choc Sugar Milk - Banana Pudding
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
⭒˚Almost done! Let’s pick a body spray.
Here are some body spray options I’d consider for this combo: Dirty Soul Soap Co. - Banana Milk Pie Body Fantasies Signature - Vanilla Bath and Body Works - Hot Cocoa & Cream
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
⭒˚Last but certainly not least, perfume!! Finally….
Here are some perfume options I’d consider for this combo: Sabrina Carpenter - Sweet Tooth Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Vanille Banane Ariana Grande - Vanilla Suede
°。 ⋆༺♱༻⋆。 °
Phew!!!! I don't know about you people but my mental nose is completely blind at the moment. So many scents to choose from! Again, don’t feel confined to making sure every product has a certain fragrance note– it's pretty impossible. Play around with different scents: spray perfumes over each other and test them out. Mix body washes if you want! Who cares? Your next favorite body scent might just be two separate scents that were never meant to go together, and you’ll be the only one wearing it <3

Hi there, wanted to ask: what are your favorite body creams / routine to moisturize your body ?
This is a quick brain dump. I'm lowkey very bad at being consistent with my body care but im trying to do better lmao Im also a product hoarder so this switches often.
Going out / Shine and Scent Heavy:
Caress Brown Sugar exfoliating body wash
Coconut Oil i mix with different essential oils (I know) but its perfect for when i have a specific scent note i want to bring out and keeps me shiny
Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille body butter
Philosophy Vanilla Fig or Lemon Meringue body lotion
Nuxe Dry Oil (perfect for traveling if you just want to throw one thing in your suitcase. Ive used on my hair too)
Dove Whipped Macadamia and Rice Milk Body Cream (Thick without being annoying, cheap and smells like a milkshake)
Johnson Baby Oil Gel (a Black girl classic)
Coola Guava Mango Spf spray
Staying in/ Actual skincare:
Skinfix Glycolic Body Scrub
dove antibacterial body wash
Amlactin Lotion (Smells disgusting but will make you super soft. Also helps if you have scars or keratosis pilaris)
Anything Eucerin but especially the Oil Balm
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid (for all over exfoliation before moisturizing, great for feet! do not use with other actives)
Anything by Nivea
Gold Bond Retinol body lotion
If you have super dry or easily irritated skin I would try to stay to away from strongly scented things, especially when its hot.

Hmm.. I'm sorry to hear that honey, but it's for the best, your safety should always come first but maybe you can give them to some very special so they can love them just as much as you? And your stuffies, can you wash them? Or is it like the stuffies in general? And to help with owies, you can apply an ice pack to the areas that hurt, take an antihistamine (basically Benadryl or Zyrtec) and use a mild hydrocortisone cream to soothe itching and redness
Big hugs for you bubba 💗

Great Butters and Oils for your Homemade Body Care
Here is my personal list of amazing additions to your homemade body care! Hopefully this can be some inspiration for your own recipes.

Olive Oil, Extra Virgin, Organic (EVOO)
Olive oil is high in polyphenols, squalene, and sterols. It is highly emollient and helps with inflamed skin conditions.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter is actually a solid fat that comes from cocoa beans. It adds a good hardness to your soap bars, however you don't want to use more than about 15% in any recipe.
Macadamia Nut Oil
This oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, and like jojoba oil, it is similar to the natural oils created by our own skin. It will turn rancid more quickly than other oils, so if you plan on using macadamia nut oil, you might want to purchase it in smaller amounts.
Castor Oil
This oil is wonderful for creating an excellent lather in soaps.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is a softer butter than cocoa butter. It contains nutrients that are not affected by the saponification process when making soap.

Jojoba Oil
This oil is wonderful for dry and oily skin types. It gives a great protective barrier for over-washed hands or dry skin. It is also noted to help with acne, dermatitis, inflamed skin conditions, and oily skin conditions.
Sweet Almond Oil
Almond oil is extremely high in Vitamin E, and although it is decently emollient, it's also highly moisturizing!
Pumpkin Seed Oil
This oil is quickly absorbed, doesn't clog pores, but at the same time is highly moisturizing for your skin! It’s high fatty acid content makes it amazing for both dry and oily skin.
Argan Oil
Argan oil can be pretty expensive, besides creating a softer bar, so only 10% or less should be used for making soap. In recent years argan oil has really come into the spotlight for its potential to promote hair growth, and it’s anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.
Grape Seed Oil
This is a lightweight oil that is very high in anti-oxidant plant compounds. It's slightly astringent and emollient, meaning it soaks into your skin well and makes it great for homemade body care!
Hemp Seed Oil
This oil is great for soothing and healing the skin, due to being very high in fatty acids.
Rice Bran Oil
This oil is very hydrating and nourishing for the skin. Used topically, rice bran oil works to improve circulation and even out skin tone by brightening the complexion.

Moisturizing Lotion: The Secret to Soft, Radiant, and Hydrated Skin
Moisturizing is an essential step in any skincare routine. A good moisturizing lotion not only hydrates your skin but also protects it from dryness, environmental damage, and premature aging. Whether you have dry, oily, sensitive, or combination skin, choosing the right lotion can transform your skin’s texture and appearance.
Let’s explore why moisturizing lotion is a must-have for healthy skin and how to find the best one for your needs.
Why Use a Moisturizing Lotion?
Locks in Moisture: Moisturizing lotions are formulated with ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and natural oils that attract and retain moisture, keeping your skin hydrated throughout the day.
Strengthens the Skin Barrier: Dry skin can weaken the natural barrier, leading to irritation and sensitivity. A moisturizing lotion replenishes the skin’s lipids, strengthening the barrier and protecting against environmental aggressors like pollution and harsh weather.
Prevents Dryness and Flaking: Cold weather, indoor heating, or excessive washing can strip your skin of its natural oils. Moisturizing lotions replenish this lost moisture, preventing dryness, flakiness, and itchiness.
Improves Skin Texture: Regular use of a moisturizing lotion can smooth rough patches and improve the overall texture of your skin, leaving it soft and supple.
Boosts Radiance: Hydrated skin reflects light better, giving you a natural, dewy glow. A moisturizing lotion with nourishing ingredients can enhance your skin’s natural radiance.
How to Choose the Right Moisturizing Lotion
Selecting the best moisturizing lotion depends on your skin type and specific concerns. Here’s a guide to help you:
For Dry Skin: Look for lotions with rich, creamy textures and ingredients like shea butter, ceramides, and essential oils that deeply nourish and hydrate.
For Oily or Combination Skin: Opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic lotions with ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid. These hydrate without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue.
For Sensitive Skin: Choose hypoallergenic and fragrance-free formulas with calming ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, or oatmeal to soothe irritation and redness.
For Aging Skin: Pick lotions enriched with antioxidants (Vitamin E, Vitamin C) and anti-aging ingredients like peptides or retinol to improve elasticity and reduce fine lines.
How to Use a Moisturizing Lotion
Cleanse Your Skin: Start with a clean face and body to remove dirt and excess oil.
Apply to Damp Skin: Apply your moisturizing lotion immediately after a shower or washing your face. This helps lock in moisture and enhances absorption.
Use Daily: For best results, use your lotion twice a day—morning and night.
Target Dry Areas: Pay extra attention to areas prone to dryness, such as elbows, knees, and hands.
Ingredients to Look for in a Moisturizing Lotion
When selecting a moisturizing lotion, look for these key ingredients:
Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid: Attract moisture to the skin, keeping it hydrated.
Vitamin E: An antioxidant that protects and repairs the skin.
Ceramides: Restore the skin’s natural barrier.
Natural Oils (Macadamia, Jojoba, Almond): Provide nourishment and prevent moisture loss.
Aloe Vera: Soothes and calms irritated skin.
Benefits of Regular Moisturizing
Healthier Skin: Moisturizing prevents common skin issues like dryness, irritation, and flaking, ensuring healthier skin.
Enhanced Makeup Application: Well-moisturized skin creates a smooth canvas for makeup, allowing it to blend seamlessly and last longer.
Protection Against Aging: Hydrated skin is less prone to fine lines and wrinkles, making moisturizing an essential anti-aging step.
Improved Confidence: Soft, smooth, and glowing skin can boost your confidence and help you feel your best.
Choosing the Best Moisturizing Lotion for Winter
In colder months, your skin requires extra care. Opt for a richer lotion with ingredients like shea butter or cocoa butter to combat winter dryness. Ensure the lotion also includes humectants to maintain hydration levels.
Final Thoughts
A moisturizing lotion is a cornerstone of any effective skincare routine. It hydrates, protects, and enhances the skin, making it look and feel its best. Whether you're battling dry skin or just want to maintain a youthful glow, the right moisturizing lotion can make all the difference.
Invest in a high-quality moisturizing lotion that suits your skin type and see the transformation to soft, radiant, and healthy skin.

Good Molecules Hydrate & Cleanse Bar

This is an old photo, but was the best I could find. The formula no longer includes honey.
Brand: Good Molecules
Product Type: Cleanser
Price: $5 USD
Size: 3.0 oz
✔️Vegan ✔️Clean Ingredients ✔️Cruelty Free ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
Squalane, Sea Buckthorn Oil, Macadamia Seed Nut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter: Hydrates, provides healthy fatty acids for skin, treats sensitivity
Aloe, Green Tea Extract: Antioxidants, soothes skin
Texture: Solid-to-foam
Feel: Fresh and clean
Scent: 🌸
No added fragrance.
Results: I'm bananas about this cleansing bar. It lasts for such a long time, so long as you remember to store it somewhere that it can dry between uses. I keep mine on a soap dish in the shower, but out of range of the water. When it's time to use it, I get the bar a little wet and rub it between my hands to create a bit of foam. It doesn't take long to work up an adequate amount to wash your face with.
I love the texture of the foam. It's light and yet silky. It rinses away clean and doesn't leave a residue behind.
I know the idea of a cleansing bar has a bad connotation for some. We've all used bar soap in the past that dries out your skin, strips it, doesn't rinse clean, etc. But that's soap. This is not a soap. The formula is completely soap-free. The base is derived from coconut oil and hydrogenated vegetable oil. It's mild and hydrating.
The actives are powerful and effective. Sea Buckthorn Oil is a particularly good multitasker with hydrating and antioxidant properties. Camellia, otherwise known as Green Tea Extract, is an antioxidant known for its oil balancing properties, as well as antifungal and antibacterial properties.
The only thing I would warn against is for people with almond and tree nut allergies. This bar contains macadamia and sweet almond oils, and therefore has allergen potential. If you're allergic to nuts, this is not the cleansing bar for you.
Comps: Maybe you have a different skin type or concerns other than hydrating. In that case, Good Molecules offers a Clarify & Cleanse Bar for acne-prone skin and a new Brightening & Dark Spots Bar to treat hyperpigmentation. These are going to sell at the same low price and you can purchase multipacks from them direct.
Urban Hydration Bright & Balanced Aloe Vera Face & Body Soap is the only solid cleanser I could find that's actually cheaper than Good Molecules. It's $3.99 per bar, and like Good Molecules, you can purchase multipacks on their website.
Also reasonably priced are Vanicream Sensitive Skin Cleansing Bar ($6.99); Carbon Theory Salicylic Acid & Shea Butter, Vitamin C & Caffeine, Niacinamide, Superfood, and Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Bars ($8.00); and BLK/OPL Even True Blemish Control Bar & Skin Brightening Bar ($8.50).
A little bit more expensive, but equally good are: Acure Seriously Soothing Facial Cleansing Bar ($10.99); Beekman 1802 Milk Bar Facial Cleansing Bar ($12); Beauty of Joseon Low pH Face and Body Cleansing Bar ($12); Fenty Skin Cocoa Cleans’r Soothing All-Over Cleansing Bar ($15); Terra Beauty Bars Marble Activated Charcoal Facial Bar, Naked Rose Facial Cleaner Bar, and Clean Green Tea Tree Facial Beauty Bar ($15); and Ethique Bliss Bar Gentle Solid Face Cleanser and Deep Green Deep Cleaning Solid Face Cleanser ($17).
Premium brands include: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Hydrating Concentrated Cleansing Bar, Calendula Calming & Soothing Concentrated Cleansing Bar, Rare Earth Deep Pore Purifying Concentrated Cleansing Bar ($20); Briogeo Be Gentle Be Kind Aloe + Oat Milk Ultra Soothing 3-In-1 Cleansing Bar ($25); and Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar and JuJu Bar ($28).

And those of us with peanut and tree nut allergies? (Well this is more about the tree nuts than peanuts, but STILL) Almond Oil IS IN EVERYTHING. Lip balm, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, scented body sprays, hand lotion, some make ups, and MORE. And there are no warnings. I use something with Almond Oil - my skin goes red, I feel like it's on fire, and I ITCH. FOR DAYS. Taking another shower and scrubbing does not stop the itch. It is massive antihistamine doses and strong corticosteroid creams for DAYS time. (And there's some things that are starting to have macadamia oils, cashew, etc. Which I am also allergic to!)
And some things that used to be safe aren't anymore! And they don't say anything. So even if I think it's 'safe' I still have to read the ingredient's list and try to spot the allergen in a muddled paragraph of chemicals and too small writing. And some companies don't use 'normal' language, so you have to learn the chemical/fake names too so you don't buy something that might trigger a reaction.
Don't get me started on foods. Things that used to be safe, because they had a higher chance of not having have allergens in them? Not safe anymore! Frosted Flakes now makes a kind with almonds, smarties make a kind with almonds too now. So the chances of cross-contamination is now so fucking high that I've had to give up some stuff.
Also - M&Ms? Not almond or peanut free, even if it says they are. They use oils in the shells, even the 'chocolate only' ones, that are made with nuts. Trust me I know. (so much throwing up and antihistamines were needed, jfc)
(Having to stab yourself with an epi-pen is horrible. Gives you 15ish minutes to get to the ER before the allergic reactions come back and try to kill you again. Mandatory 4-8 hour stays in the ERs also suck. Blergh.)

Discover BioProGreen Macadamia Oil:
A Natural Treasure with Multiple Virtues A Journey to the Heart of Tradition: The History of BioProGreen Macadamia Oil
The story of BioProGreen Macadamia Oil begins in the lush forests of Australia, where the Macadamia nut grows wild. For centuries, this oil has been prized for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. Inspired by this age-old tradition, BioProGreen decided to capture this pure, powerful essence to create a 100% natural, organic macadamia oil, destined to revolutionize personal care and well-being for modern users.

The exceptional benefits of macadamia oil :
1. Intense hydration: Thanks to its richness in essential fatty acids, macadamia oil penetrates deep into the skin, providing long-lasting hydration and repairing dry, damaged skin.
2. Natural anti-aging: Macadamia oil's antioxidants, such as vitamin E, help fight free radicals, reducing the signs of aging and promoting younger, more radiant skin.
3. Repairing and soothing : Ideal for irritated or sensitive skin, macadamia oil's anti-inflammatory properties help soothe redness and irritation, and accelerate the healing of small wounds.
4. Nourishes hair: Applied to the hair, macadamia oil deeply nourishes it, restoring shine and suppleness, while helping to repair split ends and prevent breakage.
5. Improves skin elasticity: By stimulating collagen production, macadamia oil helps improve skin elasticity, making it firmer and more toned.
5 clever ways to use macadamia oil:
1. Moisturizing Face Care: Apply a few drops of macadamia oil to your clean face and massage gently. Use as a moisturizing serum before your day or night cream for soft, radiant skin.
