Neither the original Castlevania show, nor Castlevania Nocturne are in any way shape or form misogynistic. At the very least, they are light years above their source material.

Both shows however are extremely momphobic. If you are a mom that isn't a part of the main, ensemble cast, then you're dropping dead, sweetheart.

Like the feeling at the end here was Lydie and Juste coming up to Maxim in a tavern and saying "Hey me and my partner saw you over here and we love your energy 😏"

i had a reeeaaallyyy fucking weird dream last night so i want to get it out

i wish i could say i forgot most of the details but i didn't. it was all so real, i actually felt like i was going to die lmaooo

so basically, it was night time, and i was juste belmont. stay with me here.

it was night time, in some city. just a generic summer night (oh yeah, the plants were all green and a bit damp, as if it had finished raining earlier) in a generic city.

there was some sort of gathering? i don't think i was even told what type of gathering it was, but i'm guessing it was some party. but anyway mr. beast showed up. a MANIC mr. beast showed up. he had this terrible grin on his face and he started fucking shooting everybody. i didn't bother to look at the bodies, i just started to run. before i ran fully out of the clearing, there were fireworks. i'm not even fucking joking, people were launching fireworks at others and at the ground. it was like they were possessed with the homicidal mr. beast spirit or some shit.

anyway i dodged a firework, ran all over the block to the police station, and talked to a female officer. the problem got sorted out and i remember being absolutely horrified. anyway it was a bit foggy after that but then, it was morning, maybe mid-noon. i was in a completely different area (still in the city though) and i was standing in front of this area.

i don't know how to put this simpler, but basically it was a road circling a parking lot with a few hedges, and then there was this white staircase platform. sort of like those sight-seeing platforms with the goggles, but there were no goggles. anyway that was to my side, and there were houses on one end and houses on the other.

anyway lydie erlanger was on the platform EXCEPT her name was lilith instead for some reason?? anyway, considering i was juste and lilith was standing in front of me, i was ecstatic that she was okay. i ran up to her and we hugged and i kissed her forehead and felt really happy! so that was cool. it was kind of weird because i felt like i knew lilith for years. as if i WAS juste lmao

also her parents showed up. they were like a generic old rich people couple. think a weird mix between pacifica northwest and amity blight's parents, except lilith's parents were nice to people.

anyway, after that i heard something about how we were the only survivors from the attack. so yeah :/

not sure how to end this. beware mr. beast?

The gentle afternoon light bathed the study in warm colors. Simon pushed up the glasses on his nose and angled the blades towards the sun, to spot and rub away any trace of dirt he might have missed.

The more years passed, the harder it was for him to continue in his old habits, with his dimming sight and shaky hands: he could already hear his son’s voice urging him to take a break, that there was no more need for him to think about weapons, and let his descendants take care of the Belmont wealth. Simon hoped that Mathieu and Juste did not take his stubbornness as a lack of faith in them. It simply did not feel right to leave everything on their shoulders and slack off like a lazy old man.

Even engrossed in his activity, Simon kept a vigil eye on Juste and his friend Maxim, as they engaged in their own favorite pastime: sparring in the garden. Their other friend, Lydie, was cheering them on from the sidelines; although Simon couldn’t hear anything from behind the window, her enthusiasm was more than evident in the way she bounced on her heels.

Pride swelled in Simon’s chest at the sight of the two youths. The battle against the night was in good hands. He could not wait until the day of the ceremony, when he will experience the joy of passing on the Vampire Killer to his grandson, much like Grandfather Soleil did with him when he was not much older than Juste.

DID MAXIM BECOME A VAMPIRE??

I mean Maxim becoming a vampire would make sense as that’s literally what happened in Harmony of Dissonance, however temporary that was. Presumably there’s no convenient way of reversing vampirism like in the game so if Maxim did become a vampire, he’d stay a vampire. Being forced to mercy-kill your best friend after he was turned into a vampire presumably against his will would definitely add yet another layer of —

Juste. JUSTE. WHY ARE YOU GLOSSING OVER THIS LIKE YOU DIDN’T JUST IMPLY YOUR BEST FRIEND BECAME A VAMPIRE. YOU’RE BEING SPECIFIC ENOUGH ABOUT WHAT YOU SAID TO YOUR WIFE AS SHE DIED IN YOUR ARMS WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU NOT CLARIFYING IF YOUR FRIEND BECAME A VAMPIRE OR NOT?!

WHY ARE YOU BEING CONVENIENTLY VAGUE ABOUT THE EXACT CIRCUMSTANCES OF MAXIM’S DEATH?!

So, let me get this right.

You’re telling me, that the character most likely to become a vampire, the driving force of conflict in Harmony of Dissonance, the second protagonist of HoD, whose exact death you are being conveniently vague about—

—WAS STILL ALIVE TO HEAR THE PHRASE “COME BACK TO ME,” SAID BY JUSTE, WHO WE JUST GOT FAIRLY EXPLICIT CONFIRMATION IS GOING TO HAVE TO CONFRONT HIS PAST NEXT SEASON?!

Oh, please tell me this is going exactly where I think it is. PLEASE.
