A Pokémon Trainers Adventures

Today a group of Pokémon trainers in training were all meeting together at a diner catching up on their adventures throughout the lands of, Sinnoh on the way to becoming, Pokémon Masters

Ruby: Whoo! It's great to see you guys again!

Blake: It's great to see you too, Ruby.

Nora: It feels like it's been years since we last met.

Ren: It's only been five months.

Nora: Years...

Pyrrha: It's been years in, Nora's time.

Ren: ...

Weiss: That makes sense.

Ren: An uncomfortable amount of sense.

Yang: So, what crazy adventures did you guys go on while becoming Pokémon masters?

Nora: Oh, me first!

Yang: Alright, go ahead, Nora.

Nora: Okay... I was deep in the industrial zone, searching for, Pokémon to add to my party... When suddenly from out of the shadows appear a derange vacuum cleaner coming straight at me, with murderous intent in it's eyes! I call out my, Bronzor, Blingy ,and we engaged in a grueling duel to the death with this killer vacuum! It was a fierce duel, but we managed to defeat the vile vacuum cleaner! But, after we destroyed the evil vacuum, a Pokémon flew out of the machine, but before it could escape, I threw a Great Ball at it, and I caught, Rotoma!

RWBYP: Rotoma?

Ren: The vacuum cleaner was possessed by a, Rotom. When, Nora caught him, so she named it, Rotoma

RWBYP: Ohh!

Yang: Nice name!

Ruby: Okay, my turn! So, I recently defeated the gym leader of, Veilstone City, Gym Leader, Maylene!

Yang: Oh, nice job, Ruby!

Blake: Well done!

Ruby: Thanks! It was a tough to fight her, and her fighting type Pokémon gave my guys a run for their money. We barely managed to eke out a win. I've been doing some training to strengthen my, Pokémon so we're not stuck on the ropes again.

Pyrrha: Smart move, Ruby. That's what I did after I beat, the gym leader of, Calavane City, Byron. He may have mostly metal type, but my, Luxray was knocked out in the first round with ease!

Weiss: Yeah, gym leaders may specialize on one type of Pokémon, but that doesn't mean they're a pushover if you have a Pokémon that their pokemon is weak against. Like when I lost to, Gardenia with my, Glaceon.

Ruby: But, aren't water type, Pokemon, weak to grass types?

Weiss: Vaporeon is the water type eeveelution. Glaceon is the ice type eeveelution.

Ruby: Ohh! So she curb stomped your Pokémon then?

Weiss: She bullied poor, Mr. Snappy...

Yang: Mr. Snappy?

Blake: That's what, Weiss calls her, Sharpedo.

Yang: Oh that's cute!

Blake: So, what about you, Ren, anything interesting happen to you?

Ren: Oh, well... I found a Pokémon egg a while ago, and I was nursing it, and it recently hatched into a, Riolu.

Yang: Oh, a Riolu! That's a nice Pokémon to have!

Blake: Are you having a hard time training it?

Ren: No, she's a delight to have around, I'm enjoying training her with the rest of my other Pokémon. What about you, Yang, did you do anything interesting?

Yang: Oh, I've been entering some Pokémon beauty contest lately. I haven't won anything yet, but we've gotten pretty close to. So, we've been training for the next competition. What, about you, Blake?

Blake: Not much, bar getting my ass handed to me by the gym leader of, Hearthome City, Fantina. Her ghost type Pokémon do not play around...

Pyrrha: Yeah, I still haven't beaten her myself.

Weiss: Her Pokémon scare me...!

Nora: Me too!

Ruby: Well, I don't I think her Pokémon are really cool!

Yang: Of course you like ghosts.

Ruby: What, they're cool!

Pyrrha: Hahaha! So, what about you, Jaune?

Jaune: Hmm... what?

Pyrrha: You've been pretty quiet. Has something interesting happen lately?

Jaune: Well... kinda...

Yang: Ohh~! You got an interesting story to tell! Let's hear it!

Jaune: Well...

Unlike the rest of his friends, Jaune was just having an adventure, exploring the lands of, Sinnoh. Exploring the land, meeting new people, and Pokémon. Occasionally engaging in a battles with his fellow trainers, and when he decides he ready to, engage in a match with a gym leader.

He didn't have a lot of problems, or more accurately, challenges whenever he got into a Pokémon battle. He even had a fight against, Sinnoh's Pokémon champion, and honestly, he enjoyed the conversation the pair had afterwards more so than the battle itself. So, instead of worrying about Pokémon battles, gym badges, and what not, he just went on an adventure with his Pokémon, and meeting new Pokémon, and people.

And, one day while, Jaune was enjoying the beauty of a pound filled with lily pads, enjoying the elegant lotus blossoms upon the lily pads. A content sigh escaped his lips as he just enjoyed the moment. But as, Jaune was watchin the pound, he saw a dark shadow from the cave the pound fed into grow darker, and darker across the lily pads, as he eyes were drawn upward. His eyes widened in stunned awe, as he looked into the deep crimson eyes of the being on the other side of the void: Giratina.

Jaune: ...

Giratina: ...

Jaune: ...

Giratina: ...

Jaune: Hi.

Giratina: ZEHHAAA!!!

Jaune: ...

Jaune: Okay...

You pause as Volo makes his rapid approach. As always, the Ginkgo Guild merchant seems determined to engage you in conversation, regardless of time or place. You figure that his eagerness has everything to do with his interest in history and the space-time rift, which he’d just recently discussed with you and Ingo in the Coronet Highlands. That, or any of the countless other niche interests he lists off at any given opportunity.

Marie, keeper of the Jubilife Village pastures, regards him with bewilderment. “That man is your friend?” she asks, as Volo lugs his gigantic backpack across the footbridge.

You sigh. “That man is my… acquaintance.”

“It would be my pleasure!” Volo proclaims.

You suppress an eyeroll at his enthusiasm. “That’s fine.”

Marie gives you both a grateful smile and then makes her leave.

“So!” Volo says, looking intently down at you. He claps his hands together. “You must tell me more about the creatures in these pastures!”

It’s not the question you’d expected. Volo has expressed interest in Noble Pokémon before, but never your own. Despite all of his compliments and praise, it’s hard for you to believe that he actually cares about anything but his own studies and the ways you can enrich them.

“Uh, sure,” you say, avoiding his gaze as you turn towards the fence. You awkwardly motion at the pokémon behind it. “What do you want to know?”

His eyes are wide and almost childish in their intrigue. “Well first off, I can’t help but notice the coloration! I’ve never seen a luxray in such a striking shade, nor a walrein!”

You blink at the shinies in the pasture. “You’re right,” you tell Volo. “They’re different. In my old life, people called them ‘shinies.’ There’s a really low chance of finding them in the wild, and a slightly higher chance during mass outbreaks.”

“Oh, I see!” he enthuses. “That must be why I’ve never encountered one myself.”

You shrug. “Maybe you have, but you just didn’t notice. Too busy searching ruins for inscriptions about the ancient hero, or digging up Celestica artifacts, or tracking down the Plates of Arceus.”

At that, Volo gives you an unfamiliar look. It’s thoughtful, as he often is, but lacking his typical humor and whimsy. Then he’s back to the old smile. “Very perceptive,” he praises, with that familiar finger-point. “No wonder you’ve found so many of these ‘shinies’ yourself!”

You know that you shouldn’t brag. But you’re proud of your shinies, dammit, and Volo is your… acquaintance.

“I’ve found all of them, actually,” you tell him, folding your elbows on the edge of the fence. “At least, all that I can currently encounter. Still waiting for clearance for the Alabaster Icelands.”

“That’s incredible! Why haven’t you mentioned it before?”

You rest your chin on your hands. “Nobody’s ever cared to listen.”

You expect another immediate enthusiastic response, but Volo is surprisingly quiet. You feel him stand beside you, leaning in much the same way despite his height.

“Thank you,” he eventually says. Surprised by the sentiment, you turn to look at his face… but it’s covered by a curtain of hair.

“For what?” you ask, feeling something strange and regrettable in your chest—something you’ve felt with increasing regularity in the presence of this bizarre, off-putting, and inexplicably charming man.

“For caring to listen.”

You feel your cheeks grow warm. You hadn’t meant to list his various interests in detail, but it was hard not to do so when he’d so readily and enthusiastically shared them. It’s not like you actually care, or anything.

Volo gasps, startling you out of your thoughts.

“What?” you shout, alarmed and prepared to take on whatever threat has disturbed him. But Volo doesn’t seem disturbed at all—he’s staring at one particular pokémon with what can only be described as veneration.

“A shiny togepi!” he exclaims, gripping the fence so hard his knuckles turn white. He whips his head to face you, so intensely that he almost loses his hat. “I must meet it!”

You can’t help but smile at the way this grown man fawns over a tiny pink spike egg. You would have to be heartless, to not find it at least somewhat endearing.

Not nearly as reluctant as you probably ought to be, you nod. “When Marie gets back, I’ll add it to my team so you can say hi.”

“Goodness!” Volo gasps, “I hope she returns posthaste, or else I might just jump this fence myself!”

To use a modern phrase, he’s lost in the sauce. You’ve seen him like this a few times before, most notably when you showed him the first plate you’d acquired. It’s… not unpleasant. You react a similar way yourself, whenever you encounter a coveted shiny pokémon.

“I’m sure she’ll be back soon,” you reassure your acquaintance, hoping that your own hair hides the soft expression on your face.

You’re not about to tell Volo this, but a part of you hopes that Marie takes her time.

death note x pokemon!!

i've been formulating pokemon teams for death note characters, figured i'd put them here. i haven't perfected light's team but he 100% has a charizard and an umbreon. there's a few others i don't have solid teams for, but if i complete them i will post them!

there are a good chunk of mons that are in large part there mostly for aesthetic purposes, so keep that in mind!

if anyone has any cool changes for the current teams or thoughts on characters not shown feel free to share :D

starting with L's team!

his first pokemon was given to him by watari, and it was a shiny rowlet (it's shiny because it fits the team's aesthetic but my justification is watari's rich as hell so of course he can get L a shiny starter mon). the whole line gives off big watari vibes, it even turns into a sharpshooter!! perfect for protecting the world's greatest detective.

he's got a shiny umbreon who serves the role of partner pokemon, and they have the closest bond in the team (except maybe decidueye, but they're pretty much at the same level.) it parallels light's own umbreon, who also serves as partner pokemon to light. it's complete coincidence they both have umbreon (just further proves that they are perfect for each other >:D )

he has an alcremie because of course he does!! he loves sweets, and since alcremie make the best whipped cream for desserts, he HAD to have one. specifically the vanilla cream kind with strawberry candies.

next is metagross because metagross is way smarter than a supercomputer and L has always been really into technology. having one around is very helpful for his investigations.

he has an experiment gone (sorta) wrong, a porygon-z. it's difficult to work with, but L has managed to figure out how to work with it anyway. yet another technology mon to feed L's tech obsession.

last mon on his team is a bronzong. because he hears the bells. obviously. also, when bronzong lets out warning cries, which sound like bells tolling, it can summon rain. i mean, come on. he can't not have one on his team.

now that L's main team has been explained, it's time for another group of pokemon L has-- his contest mons!! L is really into pokemon contests and participates in them frequently (he always wins, of course). he's even got a pokemon for each type of contest category!

the alcremie and umbreon are from his main team, they just also participate in contests. he has a luxray who is also used for protection on top of contests since they can see through walls. very cool, very useful. (also very indulgent for me since luxray is one of my favorite mons.) he loves food pokemon so naturally he's got some more on top of alcremie. speaking of which....

he's got even more!! the others aren't used for battle or contests, he just likes having them around <3

you may think that he has an insane amount of pokemon and would struggle to care for them all while working on cases and participating in contests so much, and you would be correct. which is why watari has it all taken care of :D (that poor, poor man)

next up, we've got misamisa's team!

were most of these mainly an aesthetic choice? yes! and there's a very good reason for it. misa would totally have a team of cute mons that match her aesthetic!! since she's a model, she also uses them in her photoshoots and they themselves are very famous pokemodels.

her main partner pokemon is spinda. it doesn't fit in with the rest of the team's aesthetic, she was just completely encapsulated by it and its adorable silliness. she HAD to have it. they are now besties.

misa isn't very interested in pokemon battling, so her team isn't fully evolved. but you know what she is interested in?

that's right, pokemon contests!! she's not only famous for her modelling career, but also her pokemon contest skills!

each one of her pokemon sans spinda have their own contest category they specialize in.

she's one of the top contest participators, only ever bested by L. they are very close competition, however. while light is L's competition in regards to intellect, misa is L's competition in regards to pokemon contests. they are able to bond over their shared interest and frequently hold their own at-home contests during the time L is chained to light. they force light to participate as well, much to his dismay.

the rest of the task force think it's a waste of time, besides matsuda. he LOVES watching them. he's always been a big fan of misamisa's appearance in contests and is overjoyed that he gets to see her compete up close :>

next is god of the new world, light!

while i don't have his team fully fleshed out, there are some pokemon he has outside of a battling team.

there's the family litten, who doesn't care much for any of the other household members. it spends most of its time curled up in light's lap during his study sessions or while he's cleansing the world of sin.

the other is an applin given to him by his mom. he doesn't care for the applin much, but there is someone who does....

light started breeding applin in response to ryuk's extreme desire to eat his own. he puts up a front to his family, saying it's a hobby of his he's been getting into. he makes money selling the applin and ryuk gets to eat one every now and then instead of eyeing light's applin or making him buy more apples, so he isn't bothered by it (he secretly enjoys figuring out how to breed for the best IVs and natures possible, but he's not gonna tell ryuk that)

his applin has a special ribbon so ryuk won't mix it up with the others-- ryuk is absolutely forbidden to eat the one his mom gave him.

his litten also helps hatch the eggs a bit faster. it doesn't have flame body, but it's still able to warm them up so it helps, even if just a little.

next up, rem!

yes, she has two shinies. they just work so well!!!

shiny hisuian zoroark is so perfect in every way i just can't. it's the "embodiment of death", which fits very well with the whole shinigami thing, and it looks so fucking rem coded. actually perfection. also, although i don't have ryuk's team ready yet, he does have a normal zoroark which i think is pretty cool >:]

she has a shiny gardevoir because, uh, of COURSE she does!! gardevoir is the protector pokemon. they protect the people they care about with their life, and even sleep standing up just in case they need to jump into action to save their trainer. yet another perfect mon for rem's team.

there's a gothitelle on her team because.... well.... let me just insert its black and white 2 pokedex entry: "It can see the future from the movement of the stars. When it learns its Trainer's life span, it cries in sadness." enough said. also, i think it's adorable that it matches misa's gothorita <3

the others are mostly for aesthetic purposes, but i think they work pretty well on her team regardless!

next, mello!

yet another team that heavily revolves around aesthetic, but similar to misa, i think he would care a LOT about that sort of thing. he slays so hard i just know he would want his pokemon to match his style.

he has a houndoom who he mega evolves in battles because it looks sick as hell and is strong as fuck. his houndoom's horns are sharply pointed back, showing its natural leadership.

garchomp, staraptor, blaziken, and zangoose not only fit in his team aesthetically, but they are also all very strong and courageous. most are also really hot-headed or aggressive, which works super well with his demeanor.

and his partner pokemon, lucario? well....

they can share his chocolate together c:

a little extra thing, mello has some pokemon that are a part of his mafia group.

they aren't really owned by any of the members, they're just there to chill and have a good time. maybe intimidate a few people for the gang. you know how it is.

last but not least, near!

now, you may be asking yourself, "how the heck did this child get an ultra beast on his team??" the answer to that is simple: he saw big stacked cube mon, he got big stacked cube mon. watari, being rich as hell, indulged in near's want for big stacked cube mon, so now this 13 year old has a massive, highly aggressive ultra beast (which isn't unheard of in the actual pokemon universe). where does he keep it? idk, that's for watari to figure out (that poor, poor man)

his shinx and metang are related to L's luxray and metagross, respectively. they were given to him by L himself when he saw near's potential.

meowstic and shiny reuniclus not only fit the aesthetic, but are extremely powerful/intelligent psychic types. it's mostly aesthetic tho.

he has a shuppet that he loves to play with. it not only serves to spend quality playtime with him, but feed off of any negative emotions near is feeling as well. he's super calm and collected most of the time, and while his shuppet isn't the whole reason, it definitely helps him keep his cool when the other SPK members are dropping dead around him.

while not a part of his team, he does have a bunch of magnezone that serve as a kind of satellite. they don't function exactly the same as his actual satellites, but they are still very useful to him in their own way.

and that concludes what i have so far!

I found my first mystery dungeon game ever!! It somehow ended up under our dishwasher, and when we replaced it recently, my parents found it. This is the only Pokemon childhood cartridge I still have after most of mine got lost or stolen, and it's so exciting that I found my first copy of Explorers of Darkness!

This is what got me into mystery dungeon in the first place! Gates was the one that I played the most when I was young, which got me to fall in love with the series, but Darkness was the first one I played.

I never managed to beat it as a kid, and I just kept restarting it over and over again, trying different teams. The furthest I ever made it back then was Amp Plains when I kept losing to the boss (I'm pretty sure it was Manectric? Could be Luxray, not sure).

I never even got to Dusknoir's betrayal or Grovyle or any of that until I was a teenager and watched my brother play the Wii U's version of Explorer's of Sky.

I checked the file on it, and it was one that I'd just restarted. I was an hour and ten minutes in, and I'd only just gotten to the guild right after naming my team.

I was a Turtwig with my deadname, and my partner was a Chimchar who didn't have a nickname (my brother convinced me that nicknaming your Pokemon was weird for some reason? So when I was a kid, I didn't nickname them. I could probably make an entire post of all the things my brother said about Pokemon to mess with me, lol)

My team name was POKEMON in all caps, which I don't even think is the default? I guess I was just thinking, "Well, they're Pokemon, guess I gotta name it Team POKEMON). My name had lowercase letters so I know I knew how to do it back then, the caps had to have been deliberate.

I restarted the file, and I'm going to do a liveblog of me playing the game! I've seen a couple of people doing them recently and it seems really fun! It's going to be cool to revisit the Explorer's series, especially since I haven't played Darkness or Time in almost ten years I think, and I'll get a chance to see how different it was from Sky.

Oh, I played a couple Moemon hacks (Mega Moemon FireRed and Star Emerald) since I'd never tried them before and wanted to see the gijinka designs! Let me introduce y'all to the girls (and Luxray, Swampert, and Medicham)! If I had any complaint, it would have been cool to see them do away with the human trainers entirely, and just use following Pokemon sprites to reflect Team ace for NPCs or whoever's leading your party, so you can pretend it's like, RPG adventuring groups or something, but that's probably too much effort to bother with on a hack somebody already put a lot of effort into, so I ain't faulting them for it 😅

First time using Medicham on a playthru run btw. I used one in XY for a few battles with friends, but he was fun to use. Definitely the strongest one of my Moemon FR team.

Star Emerald was really fun tho, they have EXP ALL since they pitched up the Lvs a lot, but there's a great place to grind north of Oldale in that water route when you unlock Surf. HMs are also optional, and they give Key Item equivalents. Definitely worth a shot if Moemon hacks interest you! 😁

Hmmm in a group of six Pokémon including Decidueye, this is what I think his poké team would be:

Be warned tho...descriptions might be long and choosing the Pokémon is mostly based on appearance and typings.

(Note: My stock pokemon knowledge that I'm confident in is up to gen six, Kalos and I know a few Pokémon in gen seven to nine if I researched enough lol but imma give descriptions so you can change and think of an alternative if you don't want the recommendations)

1. Decidueye :

Yes! Hunter archer Pokémon yes! Self explanatory I think.

2. Mightyena :

It's either Mightyena, Luxray or any type of dog Pokémon that's similar to what a hunting dog looks like. Since Rook is a hunter, this Pokémon might help him in finding their prey /targets. In my opinion, I think the dog Pokémon could also have enough charm to join the Pokémon contests since he's in Pomefiore. (Pomefiore students might do Pokémon contests since it's the battle of beauty.) Inspiration: if you know the Pokémon adventures manga, Ruby's Mightyena is what I think of. It both has the cool charm and fierce in battles.

3. Gardevoir or Gallade:

Ralts' evolution line is a symbol of beauty, elegance and loyalty. Rook is passionate for beauty so I can see him having either a Ralts, Kirlia or any of the two final evolutions. For me, It just fits, you know... Rook has keen observation, appreciates beauty...This evolution like are psychic pokemon or just have any cute psychic pokemon. Maybe Espurr or Espeon? Sirfetch'd can also be an alternative for Gallade because knights.

4. Jynx

Speaking of psychic beauty, Jynx is another one. Rook appreciates beauty in any form so in my head, I don't know if you considered Jynx to be ugly (because internet says so...idk), but I can totally see Rook taking in a Smoochum or Jynx when others criticize their appearance. It's also Psychic so it works and Ice moves if imagined in real life is beautiful. I don't know what's a good alternative for Jynx but I guess look for ugly-looking Pokémon and Rook will definitely take them in.

Inspiration: If you know the story of Ruby and his Feebas in the Pokémon Adventures manga. That is also what I think I imagine minus Ruby's mindset.

5. Corviknight or Honchkrow

According to Rook's wiki, Rook may symbolizes the queen's crow so any Crow Pokémon is what I think. It's either of these two with reasons that: Corviknight looks so cool, It's a steel type so Rook is basically riding armor which is good if he would go shooting from the skies. Honchrow's evolution is also good because the bird looks like he's wearing an stylish fedora which matches Rook's also stylish hat.

6. Sudowoodo

There is no Alternative Pokémon for this. You might think this is a meme choice of a Pokémon but I think this is genius! However...imagine: Rook is a hunter...Rook has the habit/hobby of stalking--OBSERVING people from the distance. Imagine, Rook having HIS OWN TREE to hide amongst the forest, There's a sole TREE in the rocky mountains, A TREE in unusual spots but at the same time, that tree is not suspicious because TREES are naturally available outside. Hi it is I with more questions for ironheart au.

Can Ingo potentially use steel type moves? Like obviously this man isn't gonna be using Gyro Ball or Flash Cannon, but what about Heavy Slam? Like yeah he's a twig and thus wouldn't hurt anyone with it, but it's a cool thing to think about. Quite honestly, Heavy Slam is probably like, the only move he could realistically use (if he COULD hypothetically use steel moves), or I mean he could offload his entire savings with Make It Rain. Or scream so loudly it's essentially Metal Sound.

How does his body work? I know his heart is the plate, but is everything else human tissue and bones? His bones could def have a higher concentration of iron in them without any of the negative drawbacks, thus basically making it impossible for him to break his bones. The same could apply to his blood. But what about skin? Ingo's already a very pale guy, and in the post 'got his heart ripped out by Giratina like this is Metal Gear Rising' he's gonna have to worry about his torn skin.

On a funny note, I imagine he's COMPLETELY unpalatable for wild pokemon. Like can you imagine if he got biten by a Luxray trying to eat him, and then it suddenly lets go and scrunched its face like it just ate a lemon and is like "why do you taste actually disgusting wtf". No predators have tried messing with him since that incident.

Another question : would his body produce/react to magnetic fields? Could you stick a magnet on him and make it stay on his body? Imagine if that's how he met his two steel types : they both were like "woah strong magnet" and then got stuck to him.

Is he a good conductor (heh) of Electricity?

Does he have a natural human lifespan? It's not like his heart will ever stop beating.

Was Ingo even aware of any of his... oddities before the revelation? Or was he like "wait Poison is supposed to hurt you??"

Ohh so many questions thank you thank you!!

First of all, moves. Yep!! He can indeed use some Steel type moves, if he yells loud enough it can become a Metal Sound for instance, he can activate Iron Defense too, though he isn't quite aware of what he's doing. He's not quite directly using it but if he sees a pokemon coming at him and has a little bit of time to register it might happen on survival instinct. He does gain a bit of bulk in Hisui because of all the walking, etc so maybe that Heavy Slam could do something...

The rest of his body is very human. Arceus basically used the Plate as a convenient core to shape Human around so he's mostly normal. Mostly, he's affected by the type matchups (more resistant to cold, not very good in the heat etc) but in a way that is weird but not impossible for a human. He's a decent more resilient to injuries, random cuts and bruises but like... if he got punched he'd feel it y'know? I do think he's a bit denser and heavier than anyone expects because of the vaguely metallic vibes he's got going on. Arceus went for Steel because it would give useful resistances to the dangers of Hisui (then everythinh went wrong and it brought a random teen in instead). Except poison, he's completely immune much to everyone's confusion, this includes stuff like food poisoning mostly because it's funny.

HA YEAH. He tastes pretty metallic and most pokemon don't like it. Wild pokemon sense something odd about him and don't really bother. The Iron Defense incident tm happened when a Gliscor attempted to hit him with like. An Aerial Ace and Ingo barely?? Reacted?? He took the hit and was fine (only because of the Iron Defense) so. Yeah word spread quick that Sneasler's warden is weird but he'll also give you berries if you hang around him.

I... actually haven't thought about him.being magnetic, that would be so fun! And how he bonded with Magnezone and Probopass too! I like the idea! Not that he could out magnet Mt coronet but still. I think he can conduct electricity but it works more like a human lightning rod and isn't very helpful. He gets electrocuted like anyone else. Lol Akari tries to slap fridge magnets on him when they both go to her time.

On his lifespan... genuinely idk. He could easily be around forever, why would Arceus consider giving him a lifespan when creating him for the job, essentially? He functions human enough, he sleeps, he eats etc but age... possibly not. The fact he's an adult (and looks like an old man) hides this but if someone notices...

Ingo was aware he was weird but had no reason why. His eyes glow in the dark? Surely that's Melli being dramatic- oh. No he's not. Huh. He had to be told Sneasel's were venomous even after he got scratched a few times by Lady Sneasler's little ones. Irida or Sneasler herself pointing to the Pecha supplies and Ingo's like "wait... they're poisonous???! I'm fine though don't worry."

in honor of my pokémon obsession and vague desire to one day write a pokémon au, here are the pokémon teams i think some of the bllk boys would have!!

warning: all pokémon are from gen 6 or before because i didn’t really play the games after that, i chose pokémon based on aesthetics and vibes not functionality in battle or stats or anything like that HAHA, this truly is not that serious but if anyone steals my ideas i will be mad 😐 don’t plagiarize pls it’s not cool

characters: isagi yoichi, chigiri hyoma, barou shouei, nagi seishiro, mikage reo, otoya eita, karasu tabito, yukimiya kenyu, hiori yo

isagi yoichi: charizard, lapras, stoutland, machamp, leafeon, raichu (this man is basic i’m sorry but he’s not going crazy or picking any atypical pokémon)

chigiri hyoma: rapidash, zebstrika, dragonite, gorebyss, liepard, pyroar (only chooses fast pokémon and likes to ride them around so he gets places before everyone else)

barou shouei: pangoro, krookodile, zoroark, sharpedo, houndoom, weavile (exclusively dark types so he can continue w the whole villain thing he has going on)

nagi seishiro: goodra, reuniclus, clefable, whimsicott, snorlax, arcanine (what can i say?? a bunch of squishy cuddly pokémon for a squishy cuddly guy)

mikage reo: gallade, mawile, flygon, persian, cinccino, florges (idk all of these pokémon just feel very elegant and classy to me which is super mikage “rich boy” reo)

otoya eita: greninja, sylveon, ampharos, blissey, altaria, ninetales (he tries to be cool so he picks greninja to start with but he ends up with exclusively cutesy pokémon for the rest of his team because he’s actually a loser)

karasu tabito: garchomp, honchkrow, staraptor, talonflame, pidgeot, lucario (his commitment to the bird aesthetic is impressive, but he feels a kinship with garchomp — perhaps due to their similarly shaped side profiles?? — and thinks lucario is cool, so those two get a pass)

yukimiya kenyu: breloom, alakazam, steelix, manectric, azumarill, noivern (i think he would only pick pokémon that make him seem refined and cool)

hiori yo: kingdra, metagross, nidoqueen, luxray, aurorus, swanna (a relatively balanced team in terms of typing, but to be honest i picked them because they’re all light blue/have light blue on them)

Look, does this choice make me look like an edge lord? Yes, a little...but like..!! Bro he's so cool!!I like the stripes, I like the mane, I like how it keeps the silly little star at the end of it's tail-he's more of an adult now, but he still has a bit of that silly little kid in him.

Look, I might well be the only person in the world who likes this Pokémon this much, but I don't care, it is so so so cool! The idea of a spirit possessing a tomb, presumably the one where it was buried? Very creative. And bro, the hands?? Look, I watch A LOT(too much...) Jujutsu kaisan and the evolution sega from fallen London(which is amazing, btw-look it up) impacted me STRONGLY, so I have an obsession for anything with a mass of writhing hands that is going to get you, so this Pokémon appeals to me strongly

To be clear, it is cool, but it also looks like it watches anime-It's just that it has excellent taste in anime.

Can you tell I like ghost types yet? :D I have almost nothing say about this one besides that it's an excellent combination of witch and ghost elements into a stylish, mischievous package. Excellent Pokémon.

As you might have noticed, I like cool, "dark" Pokémon, but this one has the benefit of also just. Looking like a friend! It looks like, well, your buddy! It looks like you could ride it to your job and cuddle it to sleep while it cuddles you. Also, I love bats, so that helps. Plus, the megaphone ears are, in fact, a very cool idea-i like sound asked attacks almost as much as I like hand based creature design, and "what if a bat used it's echolocation as an attack" is a cool way to go about it.

EJEHEHEJEH 😈😈😈 well electric type of course. naturally. so in my friends' region we're working on we have me as the fifth gym! n my initial team is luxray, pachirisu, galvantula, and eelektrik. the post game team is luxray, eelektross, galvantula, toxtricity, ampharos, and manectric! honestly though i love so many electric types i can see myself using just about any of them 😭 if i were allowed legends n shit i'd definitely want zeraora and xurkitree. i love. electric types.

One Piece x Pokemon au, the Straw Hat's abilities as Pokemon trainers. As they're pirates, they typically don't follow the regulated 1v1 format. It's often them fighting along side their full team.

Luffy of course dreams of being a cool Pokemon trainer. He's not the type to do research though. He is a keen visual learner so he can effectively teach his team moves he's seen other Pokemon use. Problem with that is he doesn't know what moves exactly his Pokemon can learn so sometimes it's a lost cause. At first, training sessions were essentially play time. During the time skip, he got himself in gear and efficiently taught them combat. He even teaches them defensive moves, not just cool looking attacks. He instructs them well, reacts fast and knows how to use their abilities. His weakness is he wants to yell out cool attacks and see his team be awesome!

Zoro's dream is the become the strongest swordsman, not a Pokemon trainer. He only has Pokemon as they make good sparring partners, which is fine with them as their goal is to defeat him. Over time he realises coaching makes them stronger thus better sparring partners. He starts individual training sessions for each member. He doesn't really instruct them in battle, just lets them handle their own fights. If one is struggling in battle, he'll chastise them, he won't tolerate weakness from his team. It sounds harsh but it does give them the boost they need. Over time his team may disperse and go their separate ways but Bisharp, his partner Pokemon, will stay by his side till the end of its days.

Nami used to depend on her Pokemon too much to protect her. Particularly her Luxray and elder Pelipper. After a near deadly loss, she understood she needed to strengthen her whole team to their best. She's researched her Pokemon and formulated battled strategies, along with escape plans. She focuses more on weakening the enemy than brute strength. While she has grown as a trainer, she perhaps pampers them a tad much.

Usopp has always wanted to be a legendary Pokemon trainer. Unfortunately, he was pretty bad at it for a while. His expectations for his Pokemon were too grand and they simply couldn't keep up. He tried teaching them moves they weren't capable of doing at their low level. He really did not know what he was doing. He learns steadily as they travel. During the time skip, he puts his all into becoming a truly great trainer. When the crew reunite, the growth of his team was extreme. The once overzealous Usopp had become an incredibly skilled trainer with a strong understanding of his team's abilities and needs. If he took on official tournaments he could become a Champion. Now boasts about his Pokemon are in earnest.

Sanji has trained his team in battle and in cooking. He's good at what he knows. His team are powerful kickers but he couldn't train one in punching. He's put a lot of focus into his team's speed. He's always been a good trainer but his rivalry with Zoro spurred more rigorous training sessions. He knows the dietary needs of every Pokemon on the ship but he can't control what the others feed their Pokemon. Being in charge of his teams food, they are in peak health and physical condition. He doesn't train Steenee as she is his delicate little flower 💜 Unbeknownst to him, she has perfect stats and harbours great natural strength he isn't nurturing.

Chopper is a Pokemon himself so being a trainer would be weird for him. He's more their leader. His team are healers with little interest in battle. Chopper excels training in the medical field. During the time skip, he felt it necessary to teach his team self defence. They know moves that weaken enemies and support allies. Sylveon however loves to fight so Chopper trained together with them more intensely. His team is the weakest in the crew but can at least hold their own.

Robin is an intelligent trainer who utilises her Pokemon is in ways more than just battling. Thievery, stealth, spying etc. She has their utmost respect and follow her every command. They've helped her a lot on past missions. She's well studied on many Pokemon species, including those extinct. Therefore fossil Pokemon and legendaries don't alarm her. Her knowledge lets her swiftly come up with a counter plan against practically any opponent. If she focused purely on training them in battling she could become Champion rank, no problem.

Franky is another who trains his team by fighting with them. He's taught them to hit hard and take hits. They're often jumping in to take heavy blows for weaker allies. What he has also taught them… is dance! Cool poses! Moves that aren't very useful but look neat! You can be strong and flashy! He could take Pokemon contests by storm! His team are very good at teamwork, assisting with his projects helped with that.

Brook's team had more interest in music than battling. He taught them to use their musical abilities to inflict status effects on their opponents. That way they could protect themselves while enjoying themselves at the same time. They've died once and he's determined to never let that happen under his guidance again. Training them from scratch was difficult but he persevered. They're now stronger in death than they were in life.

Jinbe has everyone else beat when it comes to experience. He has been training Pokemon seriously from a young age. He battles them himself and instructs them dutifully. Before the time skip, Jinbe's team could've handled all of the Straw Hat's teams at once easily. That is not a feat he could accomplish now, not effortlessly at least. He still has some guidance to share with the others. He's not had a one on one fight with anyone yet, who knows if they could best him in a Pokemon battle.

I get the vibe that he's just like really nice, like just a good, reliable dude who needs a break and is fortunately likable enough to escape his father's shadow

Gardenia;

She's afraid of like everything, beyond just ghosts, my girl is a coward

She's pretty close with every other Gym Leader because of this, got em all on speed dial to come get the Spinarak out of her house and all that

Honestly I see her as such a Kobeni (csm) type character, she knows what you are

Girl is 9 get her out of here

My reasoning for that age is because in pokespe it's mentioned that she's younger than Platinum, who is like 12

I don't care if he's canonically just some skinny twink he's big to ME. Like- 6'4", at least 200 pounds, guy is just huge and bulky and built like a brick wall, tons of practical strength because,,,

This is more about his Luxray but his name is Oscar and he's massive, think an Alpha Luxray in Legends Arceus, that cat is huge, Volkner is only even slightly strong just to be able to lift him off of his bed at night when he's trying to sleep

Wildly irresponsible but on purpose, he thinks it's funny to endanger himself, no he won't seek help he doesn't believe in therapy because he wasn't properly helped when he was younger

He does care about Sunyshore though, spent a week fixing that black out that stopped you from visiting the city at first in DPPT, he claims it's Team Galactic's fault but like no one believes him

Sorry to give Volkner 5 I mean what to expect from the guy who named himself Volkner but he's related to like every Electric Type Gym Leader and also whoever I see fit. It's a very large family. He makes frequent trips to Unova to visit his only respected similarly aged cousin Elesa so they can trash talk their not respected similarly aged cousin Colress (Long story). Also yes I do believe Palmer is his dad and Barry is his younger brother and I'm deciding today that they all have a good relationship. (Also I want to elaborate on this all so much like smh I didn't even bring up the Shinx based ceremony but that's gonna have to be a different post)

Aaron;

He may or may not be distantly related to this fellow green hair and prong having man named Ghetsis but that's more lore to unpack on my end and I don't want to explain my real life friendships that make Ghetsis relevant here.

He can't be in the same room with Gardenia for too long because she gets freaked out just knowing Vespiquen is there, they have to be cycled out intermittently at every League meeting

He's been in the E4 the 3rd longest despite the fact he's only slightly older than Flint and Lucian, everyone who doubts Bug Types is amazed

Bertha;

She's been here before Cynthia was Champion and was actually the Champion before the guy who came before Cynthia, there's no getting rid of her

The hair makes it obvious but she's related to Agatha of the Kanto Elite Four, sometimes they meet for tea and to trash talk every challenger they've faced as well as their coworkers

She's excellent at comforting people without even realizing what she said half the time, you'll thank her for the advice and she'll accept that without knowing what she told you to do, she was completely out of it

Flint;

He was the Oreburgh Gym Leader before Roark, however many years before depends on the timeline, but he was second choice to join after Volkner declined for reasons I don't actually have outside of my main au

He acts exactly like one of those straight boys pretending to be gay to make fun of gay people expect it isn't acting and everyone can tell aside from him (i.e. jokingly being incredibly affectionate with Volkner)

He's probably the most reliable friend one could have and is like always ready to throw hands, he has too much energy and just wants to punch someone in the face, please ask him to punch someone in the face he will happily do it he's begging you

Lucian;

Guys a fucking ass, like, he's just very rude. That's not because I hate him he just seems kind of stuck up. (I'm mad that he tells me about how much he reads whenever I talk to him in Pokemas because I can't read large paragraphs without my vision blurring and it feels like he's bragging, and also a specific decision I made for my general lore)

He's genuinely psychic, like, telekinesis style, it comes in handy at sorting books and throwing things at people because that guy ain't got an arm on him to save his life

I think that psychic power could be totally nullified by putting a hat on him. Battle tactic.

Cynthia;

Her father was Champion before her, she's a nepobaby, she would get upset if you called her that though because she worked real hard for her position and is tired of people devaluing her

Her slug is named Sharon and she hates men, specifically blonde ones. If you are near that Gastrodon as a blonde man you are about to be hydropumped. You can't out run Sharon don't even think about it just accept your fate.

Meanwhile her Garchomp is named Joan and she's just a large scaley puppy.

She definitely needs glasses but she's very stubborn

She also can't drive. Don't let her do it. She is going to hit another mythical Pokemon.

Cynthia is also incredibly shocked whenever she learns someone doesn't care about history as much as her. She's just like- in awe, she forgot people could have other interests and it's throwing her for a loop, she'll just kind of stand there with her mouth agape until you speak again and even then she'll never look at you the same again

Okay that's...everyone for today, I would do Team Galactic but at that point I'd feel like I have to write something for every single character in the game and I'm neglecting my homework too hard for that.
