Question: Do you think Bertha would be good enough with pottery to make a regular drinking mug or soup bowl that says "you have been poisoned" on the bottom? Would she want to? Would she gift them to people and not say anything? Would someone who got such a gift not realize what they had and unsuspectingly serve their girlfriend tea or ice cream or whatever with it? Cause a major panic for a solid week? Or is that more an Agatha thing that Bertha just kinda rolls her eyes at?

i feel like i most often characterize bertha being a bit more on the serious side, and like. i feel like in comparison to her sister agatha, she absolutely would be the more serious of the two, but im sure shes got to have her moments of mischief. i commented once that i see her being the sort of person who has been with the sinnoh league so long that she knows all of the rules, in and out, and knows them well enough to know exactly how to bend them. so i think that says something about how i see her character, lmao.

i feel like she wouldnt make a habit of doing things such as what youve said, but that just makes it so much more effective when she DOES do those things. and she knows it. lol. i can see her being very intentional about when and how she executes sneaky little plans like this.

i really, really love the thought of her glazing this in very curly cursive that isnt instantly legible and takes a moment of inspection to realize that it is not just a fun little decoration, but words. i further love the idea of her having gifted cynthia a couple of bowls like this, and cynthia, probably assuming it is just a little vine-like decoration, didnt inspect it super closely. because why would she. bertha is a kind woman who isnt known for pranks.

but bertha and agatha are siblings for sure, and you can see a little of one in the other from time to time. and after all, when she and opal dated years and years ago, they had to have had similar sense of humor, i would think.

diantha, i would imagine, is much more observant than her girlfriend. the stew cynthia shared with her was so good that she lifted the bowl to her mouth to finish off the last little bit, and probably realized that these ARENT vine-like decorations, and appear to be words....

to be fair i think diantha would be more confused like. um. what kind of joke is this? and cynthia would be the one who would be BAFFLED. she got these from bertha, and never even noticed this, what on EARTH???

bertha finds it quite funny that it took cynthia eight months to notice, and it wasnt even cynthia herself who was the one to notice. cynthia is a hell of a champion and is certainly observant .... only when it comes to battles and anything related to history. lmao. and also idk what it is but there is something about her imo that just invites being picked on a little bit and even bertha, as kind as she is, isnt immune to a good prank lol.
