Xena might be a woman-led show but it is a male-dominant created show. Of course, I do think a lot of what has to do with it being a proper feminism show was the fact that Lucy was married to the showrunner.

She has her way with him and we all know it.

If she thought “nope, this is not the way to do this”, Tapert would bend over backwards to change it.

So really - I would still say it’s female-dominant created at the same time as male-dominant created.

Lucy got a lot of leeway creatively. As did Renee.

That wouldn’t happen nowadays. Not even if the showrunner was romantically involved with any of the leading cast. Shows don’t work that way anymore.

Lucy’s friends worry about her talent because they think getting close to ghosts is too dangerous, but they miss the real problem for her specifically which is that it’s too safe. She’s afraid of the people she cares about dying. Ghosts got that out of the way already. She’s worried about always being other people’s second choice. The dead don’t have other options. She’s not great at parsing emotions. Her talent gives her a psychic/empathic link with visitors. And there’s nothing wrong with any of that, but it ends up interacting badly with her insecurities because it's so tempting. Lucy demands justice for Annie Ward and freedom for the souls trapped in the bone glass, but she pushes those morals aside when given the chance to have a person all to herself who she can deny the choice to ever hurt or abandon her while claiming it's in self-defense. Bad End Lucy doesn’t get mauled by ghosts or become the next undead CEO of London. Bad End Lucy has all her friends in jars.

this episode came out in 2000 so this date of birth would mean spongebob is 14 in season 1. how does that make any sense. you're telling me a 14 year old lives alone/owns his own house, works full time and the only school he attends is driving school, and talks about his junior prom in the past tense. i dont buy it. why did they take the time to put in a birth date that actively doesn't work. i guess this is from a dream sequence so the accuracy could be debatable but why not make it all ridiculously silly stuff if it's supposed to be fake
