Inari blinked a couple of times before realizing she’d been asked a question.

“Oh, yes! Some of my favorite treats are pocky and mochi, which is probably why I picked those names for my children.” Inari laughed sheepishly.

“As for the second question, you must mean Ume? He and my son have been friends for a long time, well over a decade at this point.” Inari smiled fondly. “He is very much a trickster, but he has a wonderfully good heart. I consider him a sort of honorary son.”

Inari glanced around, as though looking for eavesdroppers, before whispering, “I don’t mean to change the subject but you… would not happen to have been human at one point, would you? I apologize if that’s a point of discomfort, but your aura is unusual.”

He was very familiar with humans, having once BEEN one, but he wouldn't admit that- and his duty as a Champion also compelled him to help. So he knelt, trying to cool any pricklyness towards the situation. "Can you tell me exactly what's been wrong with your friend? How are they not doing well? My name is Lucas, I may be able to help if I know."

Velvet has a splitting headache, and it's made them nauseous. They. How do I explain this. The way they feel is different. They feel more like Dark Matter than they used to?? I guess??

Can humans feel like a pokémon or something??

Settle It In Smash

Unite headcanons but it’s just about a friendship group:

Quick note: the Mewtwo and Lucario from Unite are not the same as the Mewtwo and Lucario from Smash (the same goes for Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Greninja)

The friendship group started with just Greninja and Cinderace though Lucario and Zeraora joined not long later

When Buzzwole arrived on Aeos Island it joined the group purely so that Zeraora could look after it

Inteleon, Mew and Mewtwo (for the same reason as Buzzwole just with Mew rather than Zeraora) joined when they arrived. Decidueye and Delphox joined when Inteleon arrived

Gardevoir and Blaziken didn’t join immediately after they arrived on the island. Blaziken originally befriended Gardevoir but the two of them joined the friendship group when Meowscarada joined, which was when it arrived on the island. Until Meowscarada joined, Lucario, Greninja and Cinderace formed an inner friendship group, but now Cinderace spends most of its time with Meowscarada. Lucario and Greninja are still most likely to hang out with each other plus Cinderace and Meowscarada. Before joining the friendship group, Mew and Gardevoir got on well

This friendship group tends to care the most about Holowear out of all the Pokémon on Aeos Island and can often be seen modelling their own (or on rare occasions each other’s) Holowear outside matches. The Eeveelutions also do this but only for their Checkered Styles

Favourite Holowear: Greninja - Costume Party Cinderace - Captain Lucario - purely because I headcanon it to not be the same as its Smash counterpart, Ruins (Cinderace agrees with this and has on at least one occasion been seen modelling Lucario’s Ruins Style) Zeraora - Band Buzzwole - Dark Hero Gardevoir - Aurora Delphox - Shinsei Decidueye - Star Cloak Inteleon - Marching Band because I’m not giving any of them their Unite styles. This is likely to change the moment it gets more interesting Holowear Mew - Fashionable Mewtwo - currently only has Martial Arts available Blaziken - N/A Meowscarada - N/A

Mewtwo is more of a typical Mewtwo (hates life) than its counterpart from Smash

Cinderace can’t cook but it attempted for Inteleon and Meowscarada’s arrivals (and is hoping to do it again if Rillaboom joins). Neither of them were too impressed at the results (how do you burn a cake so badly?)

Blaziken and Meowscarada grew up together (somehow) and were excited to discover they’d both made it in. Officially they (and Mimikyu) were invited at the same time it’s just Meowscarada took longer to prepare

Mewtwo and Mew are the only Kanto Pokémon in Unite to not be part of the Kanto friendship group

The tables in restaurants are never big enough for them anymore so they always have to plan who’s sitting with who in advance. Since Meowscarada joined, with there now being 13 in the group, often 2 tables aren’t enough. Mew doesn’t mind floating next to/above Mewtwo in this situation

"I must return now... Farewell..." Mewtwo said using his telepathic ability to speak. He then starts to leave Conton City after returning Sparks to Lucas.

I then return my Charizard back in his Poke Ball, and my Pikachu went on my shoulder since he disliked being in his Poke Ball. "Thanks, man. Your Pokémon need a bit more training." I said to Lucas after the battle.

Then, I started to shake hands with him. "Now, who's for some cake?" I shouted as my group began to join in the festivities and finish up. Big Belly the Snorlax was enjoying some food being the hungry Pokémon he was, and Medi the Medicham was taking small bites of the food, to keep her beautiful figure.

With my Pikachu having to take recoil damage from using his Volt Tackle move, he managed to hang in there, using his Berry. He then wrestles with Lucas's Pikachu, Sparks in the battle. "C'mon, you gotta have your Pokémon use a move too, Lucas." I said to Lucas. "Like so..."

"Charizard, use Seismic Toss on Falcon!" I commanded to my Charizard. He sees Falcon flying up to his level, and smiles at the Bird Pokémon, and starts to smile.

He grabbed Falcon and as he spun around, like he was flying around the world. With great force, Charizard tosses Falcon to the ground. "Pikachu, use your Electroweb!" I said to my Pikachu. "Pika!" He shouted making an electric net to protect himself from Sparks.

Do you ever think about Red, atop Mount Silver, keeping himself away from everyone he knows and loves except for his Pokemon, forever trying to keep getting stronger because of the terror that Mewtwo incited in him? About Blue, stuck watching his friend and rival shut himself away and work himself into the ground to face a threat no one but him knows about?

Do you ever think about Ethan, the Rainbow Wing in his pocket, chasing the sun and Ho-oh, not knowing what the tugging feeling in his chest is? About Lyra, clinging to the Silver Wing, seeking the darkest depths of the ocean, looking for the Guardian of the Seas, yet not knowing what she's searching for in the end?

Do you ever think about Brendan, heat building under his skin, fire erupting in his mind whenever he touches May, a sudden awareness of where every landmass begins and ends? Do you ever think about May, constantly moving, the ground beneath her making her feel restless, the air feeling to dry when she flies, eventually seeking sanctuary in the ocean, refusing to set foot on land unless she has to? Do you ever think about Wally, always searching for a higher place to be, always aware of the oxygen and how much of it there is, always looking upwards and towards that green in the sky, always longing for it but unable to reach it?

Do you ever think about Hilbert, unable to lie, always calling out other people for their untruths, driving away so many friends and making so many enemies because of it? Do you ever think about Hilda, trapped forever chasing an ideal that she knows will likely never come true but still always searching for it?

Do you ever think about Calem, wandering eternally, like AZ, searching for Yveltal to finally put an end to his life because it's stretched on for far too long? Do you ever think about Serena, cursed to die far too young and leeching the life energy out of everyone and everything around her in an unconscious attempt to prolong her painful life?

Do you ever think about Elio, rising and falling with the sun, reaching upwards for that child that he knew for so little time, oddities surrounding him from the extended time he's spent in and out of Ultra Wormholes? Do you ever think about Selene, living a nocturnal life, away from everyone she loves, always awake when they're asleep and asleep when they waken?

Do you ever think about Victor, gripping the Rusted Sword in his hands as he fails to fall asleep thanks to the faint pink glow around him from being so close to Eternamax Eternatus? Do you ever think about Gloria, staring at the Rusted Shield, remembering those moments when she and Hop came oh-so-close to death, all for a madman's fear of what would happen centuries from now?

Do you ever think of Rei/Akari, trapped in a time far from their home, not knowing what to do so that they can be happy, torn between their new life forged in Hisui and all of the friends they've made, and the future that holds their true home, where everyone they used to know resides?

Do you ever think of Florian, terrified of what the future holds after seeing all the dangerous and hostile Paradox Pokemon from way forward in time, even knowing that he'll never live to experience them? Do you ever think of Juliana, rushing ahead as much as possible, always looking forward and never turning back, trying to erase the thoughts of what could have happened in Area Zero from her mind?

Do you ever think about the children that these main characters are? The children who are standing between Legendaries who could unravel the weft of the universe itself and the world? The ten-year-olds who are the only reason why everyone isn't dead and gone?

Do you ever think about the children who are pushed into these situations and don't get thanked for it because that's the way the plot goes?

You there! Pokeverse creator! explain the general plot of Pokemon Iridium and the major differences in a simplified way!

well sure! truth be told iridium is kinda just me going “here’s how i would change the plots of pokémon stories if i had creative control!” and being very self indulgent with it, so it’s not like it’s one big overarching story, but i’d say one of the major themes is definitely legendary pokémon and how they interact with the world! i treat them more like gods than really powerful pokémon (you know, how green myths will have stories of the gods screwing around and messing with mortals all the time) because i think legendary pokémon are so cool and i like them :]

i crammed all the protagonists together on this canvas so there they all are but i’ll try to summarize the different arcs as best as i can

RED AND BLUE (gen 1): team rocket has taken over kanto and johto and fused them into The Rocket Empire. giovanni has captured the legendary birds and keeps them as pets. red tries and fails to stop giovanni from using mewtwo to unlock travel to alternate dimensions. he gets so sad about this he goes to live alone on a mountain

GOLD AND GREEN (gen 2): green, red’s kid friend, wants to get red down from the mountain. gold, the heir to team rocket (he’s basically like if gold and silver fused) tries to stop her from messing with the rockets. archer, a former rocket leader who defected, befriends green because they both wanna take down the rockets. red comes down from mt silver at the end, revealing the legendary beasts were protecting him up there

EMERALD (gen 3): may and her family (norman and zinnia) are the last of the draconids. archie and maxie are trying to expand the land/expand the sea. near the end of their evil plans they get possessed by groudon and kyogre who are mad that nobody worships them anymore (because they’re jerks). may and rayquaza work together to beat them. maxie dies during a cave in at the cave of origin so archie puts on a magical suit of armour and hunts down jirachi at the battle frontier to try and get three wishes to revive him, with the help of frontier brain lucy who wants to retire in a big mansion full of hunky boys because she’s sick of being a frontier brain

DIAMOND AND PEARL (gen 4): dawn and lucas are the human disguises of dialga and palkia who get sent down to earth every time giratina gets incarnated into another human vessel that’s about to cause trouble (it’s a banishment thing). in the past they were sent to defeat volo (legends arceus) but now they’re sent to defeat cyrus. cyrus ends up breaking the cycle by going into the distortion world and living there happily

BLACK AND WHITE (gen 5): rosa is a plasma researcher and sees colress as a father figure. her and n take a journey across a slowly-freezing-over unova. ghetsis and colress are secretly behind it using kyurem’s ice powers, but they’re using panic and fearmongering about the great freeze to get people to release their pokémon. rosa has a crisis of faith about her mentor

X AND Y (gen 6): zeena (daughter of looker and anabel) is about to become a real interpol agent, she just needs to solve the mystery of team flare in kalos. it’s a bunch of rich kids who believe beauty is the only important thing and that the beautiful should be the judge, jury, and executioner since they’re the worthy ones. in a dramatic twist it’s revealed that professor sycamore was the leader of team flare all along. when he tries to use yveltal to construct the ultimate weapon, yveltal and xerneas get so mad at him that they curse him to be stuck in between life and death

SUN AND MOON (gen 7): moon is a rocket empire refugee that moved to alola. her and lillie have to stop an emotionally unstable guzma from teaming up with the great magician lusamine and basically hunting the ultra beasts for sport. alola’s tradition hangs in the balance as both outsiders and frustrated insiders attack it. poni island gets burnt down. episode rainbow rocket happens where giovanni finally returns from his multiversal travels, revealing successful versions of every team leader so far (and some guy named raihan) that he’s poisoned with nihilego toxins to get them to work for him. moon and a defector (named twozma) kick their butts so hard that giovanni retires and kanto and johto get to be individual regions again

SWORD AND SHIELD (gen 8): leon is of royal blood, having descended from leonidas, the first king of galar. through a series of events, eternatus (a lovecraftian cosmic horror) possesses leon to use as his vessel in his ultimate quest to take over galar and absorb all the power on the planet. raihan has daddy issues.

SCARLET AND VIOLET (gen 9): thanks to sada and turo, paldea gets shattered across dimensions, so now there exists two versions of it: one stuck in the past and one stuck in the future. the ai counterparts of sada and turo have to help two kids, marisol and pedro, fix it and turn paldea back to normal. champions are evil. blueberry academy is evil. kieran turns his enemies into cursed masks
