Shinji takes a deep breath, stretching his limbs a bit before turning to Poni.

Shin: Welp guess it's time to head on out. Everyone's clearing out.

Pon: Alright but before we go how about a quick dip?

The ogre points to the glowing water with a smile.

Heard it brings good luck

The trainer scoffs, folding his arm.

Shin: You can't be serious. No way that's true.

Pon: Only one way to find out!

Poni quickly pushed Shinji along with her into the water.

Shin: W-Whoa hey!

Pon: See? Was that so bad?

Poni inquired smirking. Shinji returned the smirk, rolling his eyes.

Shin: Admit it you just wanted to get me in the water.

Pon: I did! But only cause I hear it brings good luck, I feel like we're gonna be needing some of that in the future.

Shin: I suppose...The water does look beautiful, doesn't it...?

Pon: Yeah...reminds me of the spring back home...

There was a brief moment of silence between the two, which was broken by Shinji after a while.

Shin: Thank you.

Pon: Hm?

Shin: For everything. For being my friend, for lifting me up when I was down, for caring...

Pon: Hey hey I'm only returning the favor. You're the only one who didn't see me as a monster. You gave me a chance and helped when no one else would. If anything I should be thanking you.

Poni gets closer to Shinji.

Remember what you told me that day at the shrine?

Shin: That I'd always be there by your side?

Pon: Yup! The same goes for you. As long as I live I'll have your back!

There was another moment of silence before the pair pulled each other in for a hug. After a few minutes, they let go and went home.

Shinji And Poni Have Left The Magi Event!

"Hello once again. I head you lost your friend... M-my condolences...

Y'know, I lost my frie- I mean...partner too... A Pachirisu. He was very brave agent. He sacrificed my life... I was in a same situation as you, helpless...and weak.

But I knew, I should move forward no matter what. Be stronger, help everyone who needs it, and of course, live the life at its fullest. That's the advice I could think of... You might lost your friend, but look at Ogerpon who's near you. You still have someone who is supportive."

She smiles at both.

Shinji smiles looking at Poni, who had a smile on her face as well.

Poni has been helping me cope with the loss, as well as my other friends in Paldea. They all still support and care for me. It makes me feel more at ease.

Shinji chuckles.

Knowing him he'd probably deny any gifts or special treatment. He was never one to expect rewards for what he did. He wasn't exactly humble, but he didn't really expect too much.

You guys are right. I shouldn't waste time feeling sorry for myself. He would want me to continue forward no matter what, and that's just what I'm gonna do. It...It still hurts and just like the Magi said I'll always remember him. But I'm not gonna grieve for the rest of my life.

Shinji hugs the ball one last time before putting it in his pocket and getting up.

Shinji squints at the chip, unsure whether or not he should trust the weird looking meowth.

Yeahhhh I think I'm gonna have to test this on my phone. No offence but a meowth randomly giving me some weird looking chip doesn't exactly make me feel better

After working with rotom in his phone, Shinji managed to get the chip working in his phone.

Shin: What does that mean?

Destiny stared at her glass that she refilled, her thoughts growing darker by the minute. She should've been able to do more over the centuries. If she was stronger, maybe she'd have been able to fix her world sooner. Repeating time, seeing her world fall to the cataclysm again and again had taken its toll on her morale. However, a small group of voices pulled her back to reality.

"Hm?" She mumbled, finally noticing the Pokémon that had approached her.

Destiny's ear twitched as she registered the marshadow's voice. She tentatively took one of the sweets from his outstretched hand, attempting to force a smile, at least for this one's peace of mind. "Thanks. I was just thinking about..." She paused, the words failing her on how to shorten it down. "... my making up for my greatest mistake."

"It's fine," she said, trying to shield herself. "Getting the chain of events to prevent my world's destruction isn't anyone else's responsibility but mine and Cin's."

"I mean, I'm the one that helped light the match leading up to everything back in the Limestone Caverns, and I haven't even been able to fix it after all these millennia. So it'd be pretty pathetic if I couldn't even make it up to everyone in my timeline for that."

Destiny took a moment to process what was in front of her. She'd seen hybrids before, and in fact, she'd grew up alongside one in her village, but she'd never seen one like this before. Shaking herself out of her brief reverie, she took a cookie from the edge of the plate.

"Oh, uh, thanks Waffle. I said this earlier, but my name's Destiny." Biting into the treat, she let her thoughts wander for a moment. "Though that's just my... alias, I guess you can say."

(@rescuerivy) "What was Denji like?" Moonflower sits next to Shinji. "If it helps it at all, the people in my village often talk about loved ones who have passed on, to honor their memory, and make sure they shine bright in the night sky."

He...He was a great partner and an even greater friend. Goofy, arrogant at times, really mastered his illusions...I realized I forgot to mention he was a zoroark...

It's fine. I suppose it's better if I talk about it rather than keep it bottled up.

Shinji took a deep breath as he recalled that dreadful day.

It was a regular day in Unova, I forget where we were when it happened but it was me, Denji, and my lucario Lue. I was putting them through some training when suddenly these trainers with red paint on their faces started attacking us. Lue and Denji fought hard against the pokemon sent out but that meant I was wide open for attack, which is what happened.

The trainer pauses, trying not to start crying again.

One of the trainers tried to swipe at me with a knife, of course, I tried to get away but eventually, I got cornered. Just as the attacker was about to strike me Denji...Denji he...he jumped in the way and took the hit...I didn't fully proccess what happened, expecting to see my blood on the ground. Instead I saw Denji's body, surrounded by a pool of his blood...Maybe if I acted soon he...

Shinji hugs the ball close to his chest, clenching his eyes shut.

As the evening went on, and having got his answer, Kyurem decided to indulge the invitations from the other partygoers and eat something. No matter how old he got, or where he went, the simple pleasure of good food was something that was timeless.

Shinji thought about the twin's words as well as the Magi's words, he also thought about the small group who came to comfort him earlier as well as his own friends back home. Slowly a smile forms on his face.

T-Thank you. Of you.

Shinji carefully places a hand on Iter's head.

Never thought I'd be comforted by a dialga or palkia like this. Or in general really hehe...

“H-hello.” Iter said, head bobbing in greeting. “It’s nice to see you again! We hope you’ve been enjoying the festivities.”

“We also hope you got guidance on whatever you needed!” Tempora said with much more enthusiasm than her sister, “Did you ask the Magi for help? And how are you feeling now? I hope everything is good!”

Shinji looked at the pair and then returned to the Pokeball. He thought about Tempora's question for a minute before answering.

I...I don't know how I'm feeling...I don't know if I'll ever be alright...I-I

Poni quickly grabs onto Shinji's arm, hugging it.

Pon: Hey, it's gonna be ok...you have me and the others to guide you through it. Hell, some of the people here already showed their support.

The ogre looks up at the twins.

The whimsicott puts down his bone and takes the peach from Crewel. He wastes no time chowing down into it next.

Haines approaches the duo, cigar in her left hand, and a mint soda in the other. "Interesting. my knowledge of Kitakami is very limited, but I can recognize the legendary ogerpon anywhere." Despite addressing Poni's status, there is no reverence, just bemusement. Her gaze trails over to the trainer, taking a sip of her mint soda without breaking eye contact. Then a puff of the cigar, blowing it away from the two. "Don't look too surprised. You ever see a pokemon act in a way you did not expect?"

Pon: Ah so you've heard of me

The ogre puffs out her chest smugly at which Shinji rolls his eyes.

Shin: To answer your question, plenty actually. Is it even safe for pokemon to smoke...? I've met a few legends and mythics completely different from what's written about them. Other than the ones I met, I wonder what other mythics and legends in different universes are like.

(askthewhiterocket) Upon spotting Shinji and Poni, Kyo quickly waved to them to catch their attention. "Hey, Poni!" Kyo called a with a smile. "Good to see you again. Is this your trainer that you have brought along with you?"

Pon: Hey! It's good to see you too! Shinji isn't my trainer, he's my best friend and partner. We agreed that I needed to stay in Kitakami to protect it when he was not around.

Shin: Considering I attend school in Paldea, leaving Kitakami unprotected isn't a good idea.

Pon: And I don't really like the idea of being a caught mon so it was a no-brainer!

(@ask-aeos-company) Indigo approaches Shinji. As he makes a bit of a heartbroken look while looking at him, he slowly comes closer and carefully hugs him from the behind. He smiles and purrs. He's a stranger, Indie, why are you hugging him out of sudden /lh

Shinji, who had fallen to his knees, paid no mind to the small group surrounding him. Instead, he continued to weep, never once letting go of the decorated ball in his hands.

Poni stayed by the trainer's side a smile forming as she watched everyone give their condolences.

(Snakebite to Shinji) Snakebite's eyes flicker over Shinji's form with a lazy smirk. "You're not from around here, are ya? What brings a nerd like you all the way out here?"

Shinji rolls his eyes at "nerd" when answering.

You're correct. I'm not from here, I'm from Kitakami. Don't suppose you've heard of it before?
