I loved Age of Calamity, and with Tears of The Kingdom having been out for a year now, I feel like I have more to work with. I’ve got a big roster to fill, but so far im proud of what i got right now, of course I gotta polish some things but fuck it we ball. Lore below!!!

[-.-.-] Profile 

Layria Validus Ragnar De Bon is the daughter and only child of Link and Mipha. An excellent cook and promising adventurer, Layria made her debut across Hyrule as a reckless, silent and somewhat wild princess, always seems to be doing something, whether it be in the depths, the sky islands or the surface. She’s rarely in one place long, she’s had plenty of scars to show for her adventures, but with a mother like Mipha, the scars never last. 

On the surface, she presents a quiet demeanor but there is something off with her. She hasn’t spoken a word since the Upheaval, and the pressure she is under has rendered her unapproachable and rigid. The eyes upon her are ever-present, she’s not even sure she wants to be Queen, despite this she is determined to do right by her people. The only person who holds a real threat to everything she’s worked for is her own uncle Sidon, someone who is beloved for his charisma and is a true blooded proper zora and what a royal should be. She’s not even certain she’ll even live to be 100.

She is constantly traveling, often feeling trapped in the Domain. Determined to prove her worth, to be what is expected from someone who is the child of Hylias Hero and the Zoras’ Queen. Her very existence was thought impossible, now she must, in her own opinion, prove that she deserves to be here. She rarely gives herself a break, only truly relaxing in the wilds. 

[-.-.-] ABILITIES 

. [Water Manipulation] - Like her mother and uncle, Layria can control water, create fountains, and create weapons and objects out of water. She mainly creates arrows for her bow or duplicates of her spear. 

. [Blood Manipulation] - The Zora control water, they can push and pull the flow of it. This includes the water inside living creatures, and their blood. However, it is seen as incredibly taboo to use this outside of a medical field. It can used to puppet bodies, alive or dead. Monster or regular people. Layria has little to no issue using this in combat, even going far as to weaponize her own blood if necessary. 

. [Flurry Rush] - This ability has either saved her ass or made things worse. She still learning to properly utilize it. 

. [Healing] - Her healing power isn’t as ‘pretty’ as Miphas’ per say, Layria will literally ‘sew’ the wound close by hand, her powers would heal, but there would be a scare left behind. Most don’t come to her to be healed because of how grotesque her methods are. 

. [Spirits Eye] - The Zora are spiritual people; they believe looking someone in the eye is the only way to truly know someone. Layria is spiritually sensitive to some degree, being able to see into ones soul, the truth of what they really are. She can’t turn this ability off. She never looks anyone in the eye because of this, she discovered this ability via looking at Zelda and almost went blind, she refuses to elaborate on what she saw.

Surprise, surprise! Dragon siblings are back and got a little redesign, so they look more like the Light Dragon.

I originally created AU, where Zelda is a half dragon, and she has hybrid babies with Link just to troll people who think it’s a great idea (below @redundantz sketches with hybrid Zelda from Instagram) and show them how much cringe their dreams actually are. But then I realized one thing: such transformation makes my ZeLink kiddos much more original than anyone else's. I’ve traveled across different fandom corners, and I’ve noticed that a lot of ZeLink fankids have similar designs because artists were inspired by each other. Even Mark’s design (blond boy with a tail) was based on Ferisae’s Daphnes. But the dragon features help him to stand out somehow.

Moreover, this AU would show how much Link loves Zelda. He wouldn’t care if his girlfriend was half-beast. The main thing is that she is close to him, can communicate with him, and hugs. After all, it is still better than the scenario from @bahbahhh Linktober comic.

But if you're not satisfied by this modification, I completely understand why. These three have normal forms that you can see here.

Since this coming year is the year of the dragon, the dragon family (and Link) are wishing you a very happy New Year.

For Hyrule Park, this year was not eventful, but at the same time significant. Firstly, the second chapter, which had been in the works for two years, was finally completed. Secondly, I decided to rework the story to make it more interesting for potential readers. For sensible reasons, I didn’t want to completely remake the comic, so I had to do it in fanfic format.

Overall, I'm glad that with the release of Tears of the Kingdom I was able to come up with a more structured plot. Of course, I will have to think about and redo a lot of details to make the story interesting and understandable. So in the first days of the coming year I will be busy writing out the lore and arranging the existing plot details in order to understand what exactly it is missing.

once again brain rotting about the Very convenient fact that- in the AU where she survives to BotW times- my OC BotW Aryll develops powers like astral projection and the ability to communicate with and sense the energies of spirits (that most others could never manage to communicate with-) AND THEN,,,

TotK conveniently went ahead and was like “yeah so like there’s this secret stone,,, and it’s for the Sage of Spirit,,, and the current Sage of Spirit is very talented with like,,, what’s Literally astral projecting (”I can separate my spirit from my body...”) and by the end of the game her spirit passes on and the stone is now available for a new sage to awaken to”

so like,,, yeah. Aryll never gets this stone UNTIL peace times have arrived, but in my self indulgent AU zone she absolutely awakens as the Sage of Spirit a good few months after Mineru passes on, and over time with the stone she gains the ability to even astral project multiple copies of herself WHILE still being active, aka she doesn’t have to meditate to do it, she can even do this in battle and shit, and what I’m ALSO insinuating by this is that- much like how the original BotW champions would’ve for sure been the awakened sages if TotK events took place in their time, young Impa would’ve absolutely awakened as Sage of Spirit too- because what I’m describing is what she could manage in battle even WITHOUT a secret stone.

After Jakahl was born Purah didn't want to let go of him for the first few hours, she needed rest so Robbie had to tell her that he'll watch Jakahl while she sleeps. Took a little bit, but he finally got her to hand Jakahl to him and sleep.

The mama bear instincts are strong when he's a baby so she was usually always holding him every chance she got. Even after Jakahl is a couple months old Robbie still has to get Purah to nap. Which is ironic because he himself needs sleep too.

Robbie: Purah, you need to go take a nap. I'll hold Jakahl while you sleep.

Purah: Yeah, there's no way that's happening.

THANK UUU omg. I am gonna start with Laios because I have such a clear version of how he is in my head. I have nsfw hcs too but I’ll include them in a separate post if you want! These will just be sfw and more modern au geared

Laios is 100% a furry I…can’t even deny. he definitely sees himself as some like super cool timber wolf with icy blue eyes and platinum fur (or wolf/hunting dog mix) but everyone thinks he should be a Samoyed or something

he has multiple fursonas tho. one of “that” monster. maybe a dragon sona. he’s made up his own species to. may adopt sonas/species from artists he likes. yeah he’s a furry community veteran.

i never considered legos n Laios but. You’re so right. I think he’s more interested in the more complex nature setups or fandom ones. There’s definitely a half finished setup in his room at any given time (he gets super hyper focused on finishing them for like. a few days then kinda forgets until the next random fixation.)

And it's not exactly that all fans ever want linear games (some do~) Most people I've spoken to who didn't like BoTW, simply wanted a game with a bit more depth and energy put into the story and the world.

While I don't fully agree on that front with BoTW (personally I think BoTW was one of the most concise LoZ games to date) ToTK only amplifies BoTW's weaknesses, rather than its stengths.

I understand the desire to expand on Hyrule, to make a truly vast and vibrant world, flush with exploration. Now with next-gen consoles and better hardware, there's a lot more opportunity for these types of games to take front and centre.

But at the same time, large procedurally generated landscapes can often break immersion while feeling bleak and unnatural. Even if landscapes are generated to be as natural as possible, worlds are as much a character, as well...the characters. (I could go on a whole tangent about design here, but I digress..)

I think what people miss from LoZ titles, is the human touch and energy invested into making Hyrule, feel like a place, rather than an idea.

BoTW wasn't perfect, but it was their first swing at this type of world and gameplay. I do think it can be improved on, and honestly, I was expecting progress on that front in ToTK.

But given that ToTK (past the demo lmao) was nothing more than a 100$ expansion on BoTW...I'm not feeling too confident myself moving forward with these open-world Zelda games.

Despite being linear games, growing up OOT and WW felt open world enough for me. LttP was a super fun play that had both a linear story line, and open world possibilities while giving the player full access to all the dungeons and tools off the bat.

If sacrificing genuine, thoughtful, world-building and design is what it means to have a truly open world Hyrule...I kind of don't want it either.

Au where, instead of Degrading and deserting, Genesis goes poking around the Labs after his injections and finds three silver haired toddlers.

At first he is disgusted by their existence, because it’s clear they made from Sephiroth’s DNA. But then he pokes his nose in even further, reading file after file. He feels sick as he reads how Loz was a the first born from Hojo and Hollander grudgingly working with both Sephiroth and Angeals DNA. He positively throws up when he Reads Kadaj’s file and finds himself staring into the little boys face only to see himself at that age staring back.

Yazoo is a mix of sephiroth and someone labeled as “specimen I”. That one Genesis doesn’t know, but as he looks over the youngest -barely a toddler, still a baby really - he sees that old traumatised look that Seph used to carry around with him.

… so Genesis does what any insane and irrational Soldier who’s just found out he’s a dad would.

He kidnaps the kids.

The way he deserts is instead by spiriting three little kids out to the middle of nowhere Wutai and sending covert word to Sephiroth and Angeal -only when he’s sure they are away from the shinra building. He spends weeks simply having a mini breakdown over parenting, while also doing the best that he can. It’s hard and at times he’s pretty sure he’s gone insane from the fact that Kadaj has a capital A attitude.

Loz cries constantly. It’s a never ending stream of abandonment issues and cuddles with that kid. Yazoo stares at things that aren’t there, and when he’s not doing that he rejects most formula and screaming in hunger. It’s hell.

When Angeal and Sephiroth turn up they do so with the second class puppy Zack Fair, the bucket head know it all Kunsel Zelda, and a tiny little infantryman named Cloud who is surprisingly good with kids.

Sephiroth takes the news of the children’s existence hard but better than Genesis thought he would. He only walks out for about 20 minutes before he comes back in and sits in the corner with the files. He doesn’t really engage with his three children yet but Genesis expected actual bloodshed, so… he’ll take it.

Angeal -for his part- immediately picks up Loz, who is more then happy to be cuddled and just sits down with his son, getting to know his little face and how hard his little hands can grip. He talks to him quietly and after a while, with Loz still parked on his hip he goes to say a soft hello to Yazoo who’s fussing in his cot.

Kadaj -ever Genesis’ son (someone remind him to send a flower basket to his childhood nanny’s) - is not pleased with being ignored. He is getting grouchy and throwing his teething toys around, and Genesis is about to go over and intervene when the young infantryman kneels down in front of the child.

He hands the toy back to Kadaj who seems to be captured by the man’s big blue eyes. Thus begins Kadaj’s life long obsession with his uncle Cloud, who must give him (and only him) attention at all times…

Honestly Genesis should have known. It’s HIS son.

Eventually Sephiroth looks up when Yazoo starts to cry properly. Genesis is immediately at the crib with the latest formula in a long list of attempts. He rocks Yazoo and tries to get him to settle. The milk stays down this time but Yazoo still can’t be consoled. Everyone is very shocked by how Calm Genesis seems to be about it. He’s only muttering the occasional “please baby this is irrational!” And a “if I go insane I’m taking the thereby bill out of your collage fund kiddo.”

That’s when Sephiroth comes up behind him and pets the babies hair over Gens shoulder. Yazoo quiets almost immediately and Gens too relieved to be irritated or jealous (though it’s Genesis so expect it in the future.). He simply hands Yazoo over gently and goes to collapse on the sofa next to Zack the puppy who’s helping Cloud and Kunsel entertain a very smug looking Kadaj.

“Your a little attention whore…” Gen mutters to him, gently pinching the babies cheek.

“Pot meet kettle,” Angeal laughs shakily and Gen tsks.

For the next few months they fall into a silent routine. While the Babies like being fussed over by these new dads and uncles, they still cling to Genesis as their main caregiver. A few times Genesis has to legitimately barricade himself into the bathroom just to get some peace in this suddenly very busy house.

Angeal seems to recognise this and often takes over, while Sephiroth is still too unsure to do much more than feed Yazoo and lay with him. It makes a difference though. Truly.

Zack is the entertainment guy. He can make them all giggle themselves stupid with a funny look. Kunsel seems to be taking their education very seriously. And Cloud seems to think it’s important that they know about the outside world; showing them plants and animals and helping Angeal teach them about growing food and lifecycles.

Genesis never wanted to be a dad. He never had the desire. But being those three tiny tyrants father is possibly the best thing he could have asked for. He may not ever know that he is the worlds saviour, but he is certainly okay being his children’s hero.

I had several ideas for this entry but in the end, I decided to illustrate the concept by @prankprincess123 because it's actually very interesting and cute. And if Breath of the Wild actually gets a triquel, let it be like this. No more tragic events, just a quiet life and naive children’s games, which Link would have liked a lot more.

Link wasn't sure how he got in to this mess. One moment he was trying to escape from monsters with his fairy form, the next, he was being rescued by a real fairy. That would be all well and good if she didn't think of him as a reckless child and insisted on escorting him to the nearest Great Fairy against his will. The fairy, Navi, is as stubborn as they come, so Link's not getting out of it that easily. Perhaps along the way, he can learn more about his well-meaning kidnapper, and what it's really like to be a fairy. -- LOZ/Zelda 2 Link meets a much older, post-Downfall Navi

Um, hey there! Just wanted to say that I really like C&C and S&A, it helped reactivate my interest in LoZ after the totk excitement faded lol. Also it may have got me to finally post my own first fic so I’m blaming you for that /aff lol.
