What We Don’t Say

In the mornings, the light touches everything but the space between us. I pour coffee. You fold the paper the way my mother folded sheets— corner to corner, never a wrinkle.

We don’t talk about the dishes left in the sink last night, or the moon’s slow crawl over the rooftops. Instead, we talk around the edges, like we’re afraid to crack the porcelain of the day.

Outside, the sparrows are fighting again, tiny bodies flung against the wind, wings sharp as the words we hold back.

You clear your throat, say something about rain— how it’s coming soon, how the grass will grow thick. I nod, swallow the answer I could give if I knew the right way to shape it.

There’s always something between us: the radio’s low hum, the clink of the spoon in the cup. But not us.

Later, you’ll leave for work, and I’ll stand at the window watching the clouds gather, wondering how long we can last without breaking open.

Silent Screams

I stand beside you, yet so far away

My heart beats for you, in endless gray

Why can't you see, what I clearly feel?

Is my love invisible, or do you truly not reveal?

Your smile, a sunrise in my darkest night

Your laughter, a melody that makes my heart take flight

But do you hear mine, beating just for you?

Or am I just a ghost, invisible and true?

Why do I stay, when you don't see my pain?

Why do I love, when love's not returned in vain?

Is hope a cruel mistress, leading me astray?

Or will you someday see, the love I hold each day?

In your eyes, a glimmer of what could be

A spark that fuels my dreams, wild and free

But is it just wishful thinking, a fool's delight?

Or can you truly love me, and make this heart take flight?

I question fate, and the stars above

Wondering why, our love's not meant to be in love

Yet still I hold on, to the thought of you

A one-sided love, that my heart cannot subdue.

what are your favourite poetry blogs?

I did not expect this innocuous question to make me so sad. Because I went through my following list and this is a snippet of what stared back:

Almost all my favourite poetry blogs are either inactive or have been deactivated, and now I'm wishing I saved their poems that took my heart in their hands and shook it like a snow globe.

Still, here are my favourite active (at least within the year) poetry blogs in no particular order: also included some excerpts of their writing. And hopefully I didn't miss anyone. If I did, might have thought you were inactive, but I still love your poetry, promise!

And to the active ones now, please continue writing & sharing, and I see some of you are starting to not be active now too...don't do that pls & ty)
