toshinori's character was supposed to encapsulate the idea that 'not everyone can be heroes, but everyone has the capacity for heroism'.

maybe you can't be a hero without a quirk, maybe you can't be a hero with strength.

but it doesn't change the fact that everyone can be heroic.

after all might's retirement, toshinori goes through a bit of an identity crisis, wondering who he is if he cannot be all might. and aizawa tells him straight up that he does not need to be all might. all he has to be is toshinori.

stain further exemplifies this, when he saves all might and tells him that it was not his strength that moved him. it was his actions. the all might statue built had been defecated, and this upsets toshinori. it makes him feel as though he failed in being a symbol of peace.

yet, when stain tells him that people loved all might for his actions and what he stood for, not his strength, a single person goes up to that statue and cleans it.

all might may have died, but toshinori lives on and that is all he needs to do. all he has to do is be himself.

all this gets thrown out with iron might.

iron might goes against what his character was building up to be, what his character was going to say.

'not everyone can be heroes, but all can be heroic.'

by giving us iron might, it erases that first half. because, while quirkless, toshinori is able to fight on using this suit to mimic quirks. which, while i'd accept if izuku did this at the start, or if a different quirkless character did, is just not good.

the whole point of all might dying was so that toshinori could live on. he shouldn't have to fight after everything that he's already done.

toshinori dying would have been trash, but i wouldn't mind it so much if he died an honorable and heroic death, such as saving someone from an attack, maybe having a call-back to izuku's 'my feet started moving on its own'.

he wouldn't be a hero in that moment, but he would be heroic, and that is what his character was supposed to say.

his character was supposed to show us that. we were supposed to gather that, even if toshinori is no longer a hero, he is still heroic.

supporting others, trying to reach out to izuku in his dark hero arc, dong whatever he can to keep morale up.

iron might is cool and all, but it goes against his own narrative.

horikoshi, once again, did him dirty. he does so many character dirty.

Geto Suguru x GN Reader - Fluff, drabble.

Established relationship, sleepy geto.

Geto sighed as he walked down the hall feeling his bones beyond tired within his skin. His back slouched even more as he walked as quietly down the hallway corridor as he possibly could without feeling like he would collapse. His feet dragged against Jujustu Tech's old wooden floor, so slow he felt like time stopped for him.

Geto unconsciously walked past his room and kept walking about two more doors down before he placed his ear to the door listening in. Suguru placed his hand on the doorknob gently while listening for any sign of you being away inside. He didn't want to wake you up, even after he told you not to wait for him when he had to go on these missions. "Don't stay awake any longer baby, you need to sleep, go back to sleep." He'd tell you, constantly, one time he reminded you when he called about 10 minutes past 1 AM. When you picked up and answered as if you were awake past your desired bedtime he knew he needed to remind you once again about going to sleep.

But here he was, opening the door as quietly as possible and trying to sneak into the space as if he wasn't doing as poorly as he thought. When he walked past your bed, he accidentally hit his leg on the end of the bed frame, nearly shouting and cursing like a sailor but he stopped and saw you turn in slightly. Frozen in place, Suguru quickly hobbled over to the bed, taking off his shoes, pants, and his jacket from his school uniform. He untied his hair from what used to be a perfect low-hanging bun, to what is now a loose and disheveled mess of his hair. He plucked out the hair tire, the one that was holding his hair loosely together. He leaned up close to you in the small bed and kissed your head, running a hand down your side and adjusting your body slightly to scoot in a little closer. He hissed at his body aching a little from the mission but smiled when you warmed to his touch. He pulled the blankets over the both of you and held you tightly, whispering how much he missed you and how thankful he was to have you.

"I love you..you're my pride and joy baby..."

Slowly his eyes came to a close and he pulled you into his chest while dozing off finally. He knew the sun would rise in a matter of hours and knew you'd shout at him for going to bed with some injuries but right now he was just sleeping in your arms. Just for right now. His love for you could fill beyond the ocean, so this peaceful moment was worth it.
