The "Ballad of Dwight Frye" has been stuck in my head for days! Days people!
It gave me inspiration to finish writing a character from American Horror Story Hotel A.K.A The Lady Gaga season that I had created back in 2016 and the lyrics fit so well with few small changes! I missed writing about the Guitar Player.
I had used her once as a background character for an assignment my literature teacher had asked to do about writing short stories. I hated that man because his anger issues were off the roof but he knew how to make the lesson more fun and creative.

love that a subplot of metal gear is essentially just solid snake and otacon trying and failing to have straight love interests over and over and they keep dying or marrying someone else so they're like. oh fuck it. let's be gay with each other instead we already have a special handshake and everything

On one hand, I do think some improvements can be made for RE 5 and 6. They had a lot of flaws and I wasn’t completely satisfied with either game and maybe a remake could make the stories of both better.
On the other hand, those were both ps3 games and I hardly consider that old enough to warrant a remake. 4 was already a game that was straddling the line here but I won’t deny it’s a good game.
On the whole I kinda hope if 4 isn’t the last remake, they just do code Veronica and maybe the Darkside Chronicles (I feel like you could have fleshed out the Krauser and Leon stuff and just cut the mini remakes to make it a much better game) for remakes and call it a day. Even if I’ll admit 5 and 6 could use some polish to make much better games, I kinda like 6 being a beautiful mess. And again ps3 wasn’t that long ago!

i could never explain to someone how much gravity falls means to me as a show. i remember turning twelve years old and finding it so exciting that i was the same age as the pines twins. i remember turning thirteen and being equally saddened by the fact i was older than them. it was a huge bonding point between me and my cousin/brilliant sibling figure. seventeen now and rewatching it for the billionth time and just. god. love this silly little show so much

I wish I could write some extra angsty stuff but to do that you need to own some serious skill to handle emotions and i am not smart enough for that. Sad.🤷‍♀️

"A story doesn't need a theme in order to be good" I'm only saying this once but a theme isn't some secret coded message an author weaves into a piece so that your English teacher can talk about Death or Family. A theme is a summary of an idea in the work. If the story is "Susan went grocery shopping and saw a weird bird" then it might have themes like 'birds don't belong in grocery stores' or 'nature is interesting and worth paying attention to' or 'small things can be worth hearing about.' Those could be the themes of the work. It doesn't matter if the author intended them or not, because reading is collaborative and the text gets its meaning from the reader (this is what "death of the author" means).
Every work has themes in it, and not just the ones your teachers made you read in high school. Stories that are bad or clearly not intended to have deep messages still have themes. It is inherent in being a story. All stories have themes, even if those themes are shallow, because stories are sentences connected together for the purpose of expressing ideas, and ideas are all that themes are.

why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?
