After the kids are put to bed John pours himself a glass of whiskey. He puts Willy Nelson on the record player, unfastening the top two buttons of his shirt as he sits down in the leather Chesterfield in front of the fire. He closes his eyes as the music starts and the opening bars of If My World Didn’t Have You begin to play.

It takes him back to that night, the one of the barn dance when he held you in his arms, cradled you close and promised you that he’d never let you go. He’d made love to you for the first time that evening, in the summerhouse your daddy built for your mama when the two of them had first gotten hitched.

“I’m going to marry you Lou.” He’d whispered as he lay tangled up in you, his hands threading through your hair. “I’m going to spend the rest of my life, making you as happy as you make me.”

It’s a week later his father tells him he’s going to marry Evelyn Shaw. He tries to protest, to fight it but it all comes down to numbers. Evelyn comes with over 100,000 acres and a whole stable of championship horses and Yellowstone needs the cash injection.

He doesn’t even get to tell you himself because by morning the news has spread around town like a wildfire.

“I guess you were through with me after you got what you wanted.” You say as you brush down your horse with a ferocity that frightens him. “I should have known men like you don’t marry girls like me.”

“Lou, it’s not like that…”

But it is. That’s exactly what it’s like.

You don’t speak to him after that, he sees you around town but you won’t so much as look in his direction. You were the love of his life and now he’s absolutely nothing to you.

The day before he gets married you leave town, hit the rodeo circuit. He keeps track of your career from titbits of gossip he picks up in the local diner.

It’s when your father dies a few years later that you finally return to Bozeman. Your brothers, they’re rodeo kings through and through, they don’t understand the nuances of running a farm, not like you do.

It’s after the funeral that he finds you in the summerhouse, smoking a joint. The smoke plumes from between your lips as you look at him standing there in the doorway. You don’t say anything and neither does he, instead you raise to your feet, snub out the blunt and unzip your dress. It falls into a pool around your ankles and John, he’s just a man, one so fiercely in love with you it hurts.

He fucks you on the couch, the springs creaking as your nails rake down his back. There’s an exhilaration in the pain, a release that comes with it because he deserves this, the punishing pace you set, the bite marks you leave on his flesh. He wants to wear your hurt on his skin, to experience it with you.

When you come you take him with you, his release spilling deep as you wring every last ounce of ecstasy from his body. He’s still trying to catch his breath when you pull away, you slip back into that dress, guiding the straps up your arms before you step out of the door, closing it quietly behind you.

That had been five days ago and he can still feel the sting of your scratch marks everytime he climbs into the shower.

“I still love you.” He had whispered at the height of climax and you’d only fucked him harder.

The song ends and he opens his eyes to find his wife standing before him in nothing but a silk robe. The numbness starts to creep in, the same way it does when he’s with Everlyn and he takes a sip of whiskey before he shakes his head.

“Not tonight.” He tells her, thinking about the marks you’ve left upon his skin. “I can’t do this with you tonight.”

In all honestly Harry and YN didn’t mind if their baby was a boy or girl, they just prayed for a happy and healthy little one. 

Once YN and Harry were called into the room, YN laid down on the bed with Harry sat next to her, holding her hand for comfort. 

“Are we ready to see your baby?.” The sonographer asked. 

“More than ready!” YN smiled at Harry, who brought their joined hands up his lips and pressed a quick peck to them. 

The room was silent whilst the sonographer moved the probe around YN’s tummy. The sound of a racing heartbeat broke the silence, and YN’s new favourite sound could be heard. Their baby’s heartbeat!

“You have one wriggly baby…they don’t want to keep still for me today!” The lady joked, causing YN and Harry to laugh as they watched the screen. 

“Is everything okay? With the baby I mean?”. Harry asked, something he liked doing at every appointment. 

“If I could use the word perfect, I would.” The older woman smiled. “But I can’t, but honestly your baby is growing absolutely beautifully in there…so keep doing what you’re doing Mama!”. 

Harry gave YN a proud smile, knowing that YN needed to hear that today after having a few days of insecurities. 

“Would you like to know the gender?”.

“Yeah please!” Harry didn’t hesitate, eagerly wanting to know if they were having a baby son or daughter. 

After a few more pokes and prodes on YN’s tummy, the woman smiled. “Congratulations Mum and Dad…you’re having a…”.

Originally YN and Harry were going to share their baby’s gender with their families at Christmas. But not wanting to take away the attention away from Louis on his birthday or the younger children at Christmas, they decided they would share the news with everyone at the same time. 

Keeping it simple, YN sent all their family and friends the same photo sharing the news. Both waiting for the reactions!

Lou Ferrigno Jr is the only presumably straight man I trust with queer characters now. Oliver Stark's comments were incredibly Biphobic and I'd rather they just write this off as a phase for Buck and he goes back to being a straight manwhore then hurt any other queer male characters, which is what is going to happen with his "Let Buck Fuck" BS. Oliver doesn't deserve the fandom love that he gets based on literally how he's acted on social media for the entirety of season 8 so far and that deleted Non-Apology on Instagram was the cake that makes me hope that 9-1-1 is the last main role he gets and he gets religated to bit parts for the rest of his career until he learns an actual lesson on how to be respectful to the fans you have. He might not like it but the fans are the reason he actually has any career at all and being rude to them on a regular basis isn't how you do it.

Lou deserves the world on the other hand. He gave so much care into playing Tommy, crafting a backstory that we will never know, and he deserved better than what they did to him. Some showrunner with a new show needs to scoop that man up and have him play a main character because so many people would flock to watching that show. Bonus points if they let him play another queer character because we know he will take the care to play them non-stereotypically and will actually make a compelling character.

but in all seriousness, yeah, oliver really did give us hope that he would treat the storyline with respect even though he's straight as far as we know. but apparently the respect ended at the same time as the relationship.

Even if this is it for Tevan/BuckTommy, I want to remind y’all of the positives-

Look at the amount of absolutely amazing fics that were written in such a short period of time, the way everyone jumped in wholeheartedly and created because of it.

Look at the positivity and kindness that we’ve all created in our BuckTommy end of the tumblr world. Every single one of you that I’ve interacted with is kind, caring and so talented and willing to share that talent.

Look at what this has done for Lou- huge spike in fans (myself included), given him a chance to really show off how good of an actor he is, and gotten him the attention he deserves. None of that gets taken from him because of this.

Not to sound preachy, but focusing on negatives will only bring us all down and make us all feel worse. So fuck yeah for us, for Lou, and for all we’ve done so far. I’d love to hear any other positive stuff that’s come from this if anyone would like to share as well. No matter what happens there are good things to find, and if I have to be the one who makes a fool of themselves pointing them out so you guys feel better, well pass me the jester hat 😂

We can't even enjoy BuckTommy without any noise from that side since it happened. They keep on shoving their theory and bad takes and insults.

We also can't even have a relaxing time during break because they keep on saying Tommy not going to comeback. Plus all the harassment Lou get and again all the insults we saw everywhere on the actor and the show official account, making a content just to invalidate the character and hating the actor, mentioning him in your negative comments.

When he finally appeared in episode one he still get the same treatment and we saw the same situation. When episode 5 happened still the same situation. Finally BuckTommy break up, we can't even make noise and express our feeling about that in peace.

This is free world, if you can have years of delulu and behaving badly no one can't stop you and called you out(plus you people are beyond saving) still have the audacity to act superior like we aren't the viewers and fans of the show. You can't even take it watching us expressing whatever we feel because you think Tommy Kinard is outsider, Lou is outsider and Tommy deserve to be hate so does the actor and you think BuckTommy relationship is a stepping stone and an experiment for Buck.

It is up to you to feel that, to invalidating the character and development. Hating Lou is bad behavior shouldn't be proud of it. We want to enjoy the beautiful short moment and wallowing in sadness because of the break up . It is our right and freedom.

You can go laugh and make fun of us to your heart content but knowing how bad your behavior these 9 months even way before season 7 happened, I know that although BuckTommy story is short and they broke up, all the people that love Tommy Kinard, BuckTommy and Lou aren't the nasty one.

Okay I'm definitely a BuckTommy end gamer now 100% . I won't be mad if Buddie happens I'll still enjoy it but BuckTommy has definitely made it to me top 9-1-1 ship with Buck. Now I know we are almost certain we are getting queer Eddie since Lou said Tommy was supposed to kiss Eddie but it fell through. So I was thinking about other people we could get Eddie with and at first it was kind of a joke because I could only think of one other confirmed queer character who didn't have a love interest and that is Josh I'm sure you figured out but now that I think about it Eddie/Josh would be cute. Josh deserves all the love in the world and he is in the world of first responders in a way, being a 9-1-1 operator , not the same way as Eddie but in a way that he would understand the job is dangerous and the weird hours he has them two. Josh knows how close Buck and Eddie are so that wouldn't be an issue. I'm thinking he and Tommy would bond by joking that 'your husband is going to steal my husband' vibe and then just hang together. they could all hang out including Chris obviously and be a cute little family together Chris could have a my 4 dads situation, he already has Eddie and Buck so just keep Tommy and add Josh. Anyway I'm kind of in love with endgame Eddie/Josh (do they have a ship name?) and BuckTommy now .

Context:

I hope he did. His interview broke my fucking heart. Why would anyone hate him? We've all been scared before, we've had cold feet and shut down loved ones before. While it makes us sad, it's one of the most relatable tropes in the world, self sabotaging because you think you don't deserve something good.

I don't know him personally, but I thank him for his thoughtfulness. Something lacking from the rest of the show's production.

I'm not the kind of person who follow celebrities too closely. Even when I was deeply into the Bucktommy fandom, neither OS or Lou were particularly on my radar. I believed getting to know them as real people would take away the magic.

Now that it's over, I'm still indifferent about OS. No hate towards him, we just have nothing in common and I don't find him relatable. Lou's words on the other hand soothed me. And his life story does resonate with me. So yeah, I never thought I'd stan real people before the Bucktommy breakup, but Lou gets me in the divorce.

The house in Margate was silent. Rose was in the Parliament and he thought his daughter was in her friends' house but when he entered the living room he found the girl, seven years old, sat there reading a book.

"Allie? Don't ya have a play date at Daisy's house?"

"I did. But her mom called and told me that it wasn't a good time. Their eldest daughter, Claire, is pregnant."

"Oh fuck. How old is the girl?"

"Sixteen."

"A fucking kid! I know your friend's father, he's going to kill the boy who impregnated the daughter."

"Yeah," Allie confirmed "he's not happy."

"I couldn't be happy either."

"Don't worry, dad, I'm not going to let any boy to kiss me. I don't want a baby."

Alfie, already sitting in his armchair, looked at his daughter. "Ya think this girl, Claire, got pregnant because she kissed a boy?"

"Well, yes! Daisy told me that they were kissing all the time."

"That's not how it works, Allie."

Allie left the book aside and tilted her head. "What do you mean? Then how it works?"

"Well…" Alfie cleared his throat. It was good that his wife wasn't there at the time. He never believed in sugar-coating the answers. A direct question deserved a direct answer. "First you need a woman and a man."

"In love, I know the tale."

"Not necessarily in love, sweetheart. If they're, even better but it's not always the case. Hope you know this a world full of bastards… in both senses of the world."

She, the girl, was a bastard herself because the biological father abandoned her mother way before she was adopted by the Solomons. But the girl already knew that.

"Men and a women," continued Alfie "they're physically different. Men have something called penis… it's like a sausage."

"Like a sausage?" Allie raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. And you know your body, Allie. All women have the same body under their clothes. Well, when a man is really happy to see a woman his sausage is happy too. And it will let his owner know that. If the woman agrees, she will be happy to see his sausage if not, then I'm sorry but the man can't do something about it. Well, he can, but that's another story. This is important, Allie, a woman ALWAYS must consent to see it ok? Always, right?. Well, then the man and the woman go to the bed… or the sofa, or the wall or fuckin' wherever. And the man…"

What followed was a detailed explanation of what happened with the man and the woman while they were together. He even used his hands to help himself to explain it.

Allie wasn't impressed. In fact, she found it quite boring, repetitive and complicated. She thought that a baby product of just a kiss was way better that all of that. And more romantic. Why the hell it was so hard to make a baby?

"… It's called semen. It's like milk."

"I thought only women can produce milk." Allie studied her father, thinking he was joking to her.

"It's not that kind of milk, Allie. Its only use is to help babies to be created. And that's it. Nine months later you have a baby. Sometimes one or two months earlier but it's not the rule."

"It's not interesting. It's boring as fuck, dad. That much scandal for a breakfast." Allie furrowed her brow, just like Alfie "I'd be playing with Daisy if it wasn't for Claire and her stupid boyfriend."

"Breakfast?" Interrupted Alfie. "What breakfast?"

"You described everything as a breakfast. Milk, eggs, sausages… what it's that if not a breakfast?"

Alfie laughed out loud. He just finished to explain his daughter the biological process of making a baby and Allie just compared it with a breakfast… Undoubtedly she was a kid.

Two days later, Rose saw a letter on the table. It was from school explaining that Allie had received a notification because of her behaviour. Apparently her daughter had been talking openly about sex in the classroom. Specifically about babies. Rose left the letter on the table again and pinched her nose, sighing.

Here's something some of you need to hear.

You do not have to decry Bucktommy just because you ship Buddie. You must not bring Lou Ferrigno Jr into this, a real man portraying a fictional character.

I've seen people talk ill about Tommy, Marisol, Ana and Kim (surprisingly not Taylor) just because they got in the way of Buddie. They never did anything wrong. Them being together with Buck or Eddie doesn't mean that the possibility of Buddie becoming canon is ruled out.

Say it with me: canon Buddie is still possible. I, for one, am a Buddie endgame truther till I die, but I also ship Bucktommy. For one, because Buck deserves to be happy and Tommy makes him happy. Secondly, Tommy is an important factor in Buck figuring his sexuality out and I don't think it would have had the same effect if Eddie was Buck's first queer relationship. Plus, I don't believe they are going to be endgame, I believe it's gonna be the relationship that opens up this whole new world for Buck, and that he will still ultimately end up with Eddie. But that doesn't make their relationship any less important.

You don't have to like it. But the hate I have witnessed spreading in this fandom lately? This is not okay.

If all you care about is Buddie getting together and you're belittling and making fun of any other ship and openly hating any other love interests (and even their actors) just because they interfere with your obsession then I hate to break it to you but I don't think you can call yourself a fan of either Buddie, Buck or Eddie. That's just pure irrational and unhinged obsession right there.

Bestie boos crying about being jump scared by lou and you know what? yes, yes my heart did jump out of my chest when I saw lou in the first episode and the bts vid. I've been spiraling for over a week due to personal issues and my thoughts are not in a good place, but lou *sigh* idk he made all that go away. I feel down and I only have to go through some gifs of him or bucktommy and I'm the happiest person in the world. I love a couple of actors like Misha and mads but lou... something is so different about him, he does something really good to my brain and I love him for it. I'm so glad that tim brought him back and I wish I could tell him about it.

Thank you so much for being so kind and replying to my ask! I think I understand it a little better now and I do agree with some of it. There were really sweet moments between them that made me happy but OH how it hurt to see buck just standing outside the restaurant. Yeah he freaked out a little but even lou said it wasn't ok of tommy and he wouldn't have done that. His defenders should really look into that lol judging from his interviews, he is a buddie endgame shipper and I love that

I'm kinda used to people blaming everything on buck but it still sucks. If he "shoved tommy back in the closet", they also have to acknowledge the comment tommy made when eddie was there...thank goodness he was so oblivious

But I do blame the writers a little bit for making tommy seem so...distant? Mysterious? There's potential because he has a connection to their world but we don't know nearly enough about him. We know chim, hen and bobby were good with him when he left all those years ago but now? Show us!!

Most of all, I hope they are not "done" with buck's storyline because he deserves more. He was barely a side character for the remaining episodes and that made me really sad. Oliver looks happier again though, so maybe there's hope?

I think they honestly kinda fumbled last season because of the shorter season and how much shit they tried to fit like I was saying this before but s8 should’ve been treated like s1/s2 where like you have some character building and like personal shit and then keep the rest fairly uncomplicated with like a few big things here and there and a strong sense of found family in it and hitting that balance of not overloading yourself while also keeping things interesting

Instead we kinda had boom big thing boom big thing boom here is an even more complicated big thing boom another big thing and it all felt very frazzled and all over the place and also really fragmented

And cos of all these big things you end up not able to give any one big thing the levity or development or the depth it can have

Leading to a mess of having buck pushed straight to the sidelines story wise after two eps of his bi arc then bobby having shit from Minnesota but also cartel and also house getting burnt down but also him being suicidal but also him nearly dying and us getting no scenes from the team at his bedside and then you have Eddie and his doppelgänger mess and chimney and his enciphillitus and it’s just all gives you a little bit of an overload without ever getting the pay off or the development

Like I love the show and love the writing for the most part but I gotta say s8 had a strong start that I thought it’d battle for my fav season but then it just started slipping when you could feel how limited in eps they were and also the writing style of not planning ahead for a lot of things
