Deacon gets injured and it’s nothing too serious, but he can’t bounce back as fast as he used to, as fast as Street, Chris, and Tan can. He knows it’s the wear and tear of the job and normally, he can brush it off, but for some reason, this time has him feeling a little self-conscious, inadequate.
They all tease each other, it’s all in good fun. But then, Rocker, snarky little princess that he is, makes a passing comment. “Surprised you’re not limping old man!”
And see, usually he’d barb back. Instead, his face does a pained grimace and he brushes past Rocker and straight to the locker room.
Thankfully, everyone else has gone home. He sits on the bench for a minute and leans against the wall. He doesn’t have any time to wallow, though, because next thing he knows, Rocker is striding to him, in sure, easy steps. His immaculate posture always emphasizes his broad chest and gorgeous ass.
“Rocker, go away. I want to be alone, thought I made that clear.”
Rocker does a little bounce step before plopping down beside him. “I’m good.” He tilts his head and shoots him a little smirk.
“You okay? You know I was just joking back there, right?”
Deacon sighs, exhaling loudly through his nose. “Yepp.”
“Come on, talk to me. You know you’re not that old,” he tries some light joking.
“I got injured.”
“Yeah, so? That’s basically our job requirement.” Rocker shrugs. “We’ve all gotten hurt.”
Deacon shakes his head. “Yeah, well it takes some of us longer to bounce back,” he bites out.
“Think of it as a blessing.”
Ok, now Deacon turns to look at him, curious to see where he’s going with this. “Please do enlighten me.”
Rocker looks at him for a moment. “There’s a lot of us who don’t make it to the age where we can complain about not bouncing back as quickly. I think- I think it’s fucking badass that you’re here. Hell, look how long Mumford lasted!” He laughs, shaking his head.
He looks at Deacon again. “You still got a thing or two to on us. And I’m always proud to serve by your side.”
Deacon’s eyes immediately soften. Rocker’s words hit him square in the gut. He smiles his first real smile of the day and Rocker’s face brightens.
Suddenly, Rocker pulls him up by the hand and leads him to the showers. He turns back and gives Deacon a look. He smiles in a challenge.
“Come on, show me how young I make you feel.”
Do you see the vision??

the good thing about not trusting tim minear ever again is that even if the car scene was written and shot before i lost faith in him, i still trust fic writers to do a better job than him anyway lol please, send the fics my way and i'll make a post with all the ones i can find.

It’s the way Lou/Tommy is all anyone continues to talk about and it’s been two episodes 😆 and the people who wanted him gone must be into cockwarming the way they keep him in their mouths

oliver knew the bucktommy breakup was a possibility since the beginning of season 8 and lou got zero warning. I'm not saying oliver had to tell him, i'm saying tim should've given him the same professional courtesy he gave oliver, since they were both involved in the storyline.

so let me get this straight (pun intended), oliver stark, who was so hurt to be accused of possibly queerbaiting by buddies that he left twitter was going to queerbait people by playing buck as queer even if bi buck didn't happen? okay...
from the pink news interview:

now that we have our own "karaoke scene" it'll be interesting to see the difference in reactions between the two sides.
i think every bucktommy wants to watch that car scene, i know i do, but my bet is we're just gonna bitch about it in fandom spaces and in private and move on.

as much as i think this is about the difference between the tommy and rocker storylines, i can't help but wonder if he's also talking about the set dynamics between the two shows. swat seems to be a way better place for him.

I love that there’s a group of us just live-blogging swat now. None of us are on the same episode, some of us are seasons apart, but we’re all joined together because what started as a love for Rocker turned into love for the entirety of 20-David.
I also love that we all agree that Rocker needs to be both divorced and bisexual.
AND that 20-David, respectfully, uses him as their princess plaything.
#not my fault lou had chemistry with everyone#also if anyone hurts deacon and luca i will throw hands

the thing about Ryan is that it is physically impossible for him to drink anything without being confused. the two go hand in hand for him. he cannot be holding a glass, mug or cup without his face automatically turning to 🤨
