i think, for trauma survivors, especially those who were emotionally abused, invalidated, or gaslit, it is really important not to underestimate the significance of speaking bluntly about what happened to you. Forcing yourself not to beat around the bush, not to downplay what you went through with your words. say what happened, without any caveats, without any “but it could’ve been worse”, “but i might just be being overdramatic”, “but it wasn’t really THAT bad,” and so forth. sit with the discomfort until you can begin to let yourself realize that it WAS that bad, you WERENT being overdramatic, and even if it could’ve been worse you still didn’t deserve it. It’s almost like a form of reclamation, taking back your memories, taking back your life, even the difficult or gross parts, and refusing to let anyone change the narrative or tell you how you should feel anymore, even yourself. and it hurts and it’s scary and it feels weird and awkward and sometimes you want to convince yourself you’re lying, but i think sitting in those weird feelings and letting yourself admit that you really did go through trauma puts the power back in your hands to process things and be compassionate to yourself while you heal

Shakey cell-phone videos emerge, showing Blitz in a fist-fight with Fizzarolli, over in the Greed Ring. (another famous Ex-lover, perhaps? Or perhaps something to do with his background in the Circus?)

Sharp-eyed Hellish Internet Sleuths also identify Blitzo as the bodyguard seen in the background during Fizzarolli's red-carpet walk at Mammon's Clown Pageant...

Some more exclusive pictures from the Pageant Meet & Greet surface and-- yes indeed, it looks like in addition to owning his own Assassin Company, Blitzo also does some bodyguard work on the side!

(Is it a coincidence that Hell's Most Famous Jester, decided to hire Blitz as his bodyguard for the night of that SPECTACULAR, INFAMOUS SHOW where he gave his "2 Minutes Notice" to King Mammon, Deadly Sin of Greed?)

Oh, hey! It seems that Blitz also tied with Striker-- (the assassin Blitz himself hired to kill Prince Stolas... according the Marquis Andrealphus, who demonstrably had a lot to gain from Prince Stolas's downfall) for First Place in the Pain Games at the Harvest Moon Festival!

The first time in the event's history that the Pain Games EVER resulted in a tie! Really makes you think!

Can't forget about the billboards, either! DEFINITELY can't forget the billboards!

I'm not sure which direction things are going to go in, Blitz has been up to some INTERESTING things, some of which was documented on camera, and I'm curious about what kind of gossip and press will result from this.

I am genuinely really enjoying seeing people who have clearly never read the Odyssey before reacting to EPIC's Ithaca saga. I haven't listened to EPIC myself (yet) but people keep saying stuff like "Odyseeus built their palace around an olive tree he carved into his and Penelope's marriage bed that's so symbolic" and "He really just murdered all the suitors wouldn't that piss off their parents?" Which are observations and questions that the Odyssey makes incredibly blatantly clear as to the symbolism or the answer because it's a really old poem and subtlety wasn't really Homer's strong suit.

There's something really endearing about seeing people interact with the Odyssey through the same way the Ancient Greeks did - a bard singing the story of Odyseus' nostos.

(I gather the details have changed a little, but that's what happens with oral storytelling, and that's how the Odyssey got created in the first place)

Also as congratulations have my favourite ancient depiction of Odysseus surfing with two amphemorae having stolen Poseidon's trident, being sped along by Boreas, stark naked except for a cloak he's holding onto.

Yes, I've already played Raincode!! Really enjoyed it, especially for the DR-like vibe and I actually made charms of the main cast:

I have sketches of Yomi and Yakou that I've been meaning to add to this set for ages but haven't been able to bring myself to refine them ;v; Makes me happy when people recognize the Raincode merch at cons tho! I'm really excited for Kodaka's new game too, I haven't played the demo yet!

Hitting on Ryuu is always a mistake LMAO, because if he's not interested, the unfortunate flirt will experience the most humiliating rejection of their life, and if he does decide to take the bait, the still-unfortunate flirt will very quickly find the tables have been turned on them and they are suddenly the one being pursued instead with no idea how it happened 😂 Like in my head, Ryuu is, like, the Worst Best Time you will have. As a personality, you can tell he's Bad News, except he's really good at being charming—he's ambitious and confident and weirdly dependable, and also he Will Not call you back no matter how good a time you have, because he does not register you as a person and the idea of taking your feelings into account just. Does not cross his mind 😂😂

The Horizons stage show in AnimeJapan 2024 (last year) was interesting and the bits with Friede and Amethio's VAs are still on my mind. They got to talk about their battles and their characters in general. (The event took place one day after the initial broadcast of HZ044 and before chapter 2 ended and thus reflects the events of the anime at the time.)

Either way, Horie Shun (Amethio's VA) talked about how Amethio changed through his battles with Friede. How Amethio battled out of a sense of duty at first, but gradually, feelings of frustration and his personal desire of wanting to win began to develop inside of him.

And Yashiro Taku (Friede's VA) talked about how through his encounters with Amethio, Friede grew to respect/acknowledge his will/conviction even though they had different objectives at the time.

Very interesting insights from their VAs, hopefully the same this year too.
