Created by Lost Pantheon
This mod adds a Medieval Tactics Table to your game, which is based on the Strategy Table object from The Sims 3 Medieval. It works as a functional version of the Hit 'em Harder Blackjack Table object from the The Sims 3 Store, however it is flavoured to work in a Medieval setting.
The object works almost identically to the Hit 'em Harder Blackjack Table object from the The Sims 3 Store, therefore you WILL need the Blackjack Table from the Store installed in your game to use this object.
The Tactics Table also has differently named interactions to the Blackjack Table: Interactions have a Medieval theme to them (such as "Engage in Warfare" rather than "Play Blackjack") and the text boxes reference your Sims' actions as if they were commanding troops on a tactical map rather than playing Blackjack. However the base gameplay remains the same.
The table is editable in Create-a-Style, has two recolourable channels and has three presets. The table costs §4000, the same as the regular Blackjack Table, and requires four chairs to use. All chairs must be on the same side as they are in the regular Blackjack Table.
Note that it is possible to use both this object and the Blackjack Table from the store in your game at the same time (it's not a default replacement), however the text lines for the Store's Blackjack Table will also be Medieval-themed while this mod is installed.

Gambling Skill converted to Command Skill (Optional)
Also included in this download is the package called Lost_Pantheon_Medieval_Command_Gambling_Skill. This Package renames the Gambling Skill object from the The Sims 3 Store. The Skill will be renamed into "Command", and additionally the Moodlets gained from the Blackjack Table/Tactics Table will be renamed to be Medieval-themed. Note that this difference is only cosmetic, and is intended for use with a version of my Knight Career.
Visual errors:
Some elements of the original Blackjack Table remain: Sims will still play Blackjack cards, and cards will fly out of an invisible dealer's head.
Visual elements from the original dealer's head (such as smoke) as well as mechanical sound effects will still play, even if the Simbot dealer is gone.

🙃?
🙃 Which is easier: faces facing left, right, or front view?
Faces facing left, definitely! I find it much harder to draw faces from the right, I tend to default left-facing. Front-facing is easy too, the only difficult thing is symmetry!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see Cato on the right, how his face is closer to his right ear than his left. That's usually what I struggle with drawing front-facing!

Imagine if our best source on what Christianity was like in the far future were adaptations of Dante's Inferno and Paradise Lost. And Christiantiy was dead when these adaptations are made. There are two sets of adaptations, one that tries to convince the audience that every divine or demonic being in Christianity was actually just alien nobility. The other adaptation is more accurate but was made mostly for the perpose of trying to unite the United Kingdom and Ireland.
This is what trying to figure out anything about Norse mythology/paganism is like.

Piper
So this is real random, but in my earlier post about the Lost Trio (this should work as a link: https://www.tumblr.com/memysoulandi/754162180906270720/jason-grace-so-much-potential)
and anyway I feel a need to elaborate on Piper's character as someone said something about her demonizing of femininity understandable to her character and past.
What I meant by this was sort of have her like the dresses, but not the implications of wearing them.
For example, when Aphrodite put her in a gorgeous dress to claim her along with some makeup, instead of her going 'ewwwww I hate wearing dresses and makeup feels so horrible this is so embarrassing gods I despise dresses' instead be like 'Piper didn't like looking this perfect as it reminded her of all the models and actresses and singers who threw themselves at her father and made fools of themselves for a bit of cash'.
Given what kind of movies we can assume Tristan Mclean does, movies with men sweaty and shirtless and woman being helpless stupid love interests who dress in impractical clothes for the film, scream in fear, and wear heels 24/7, Piper probably didn't have the best view of the actresses that she would meet, as she associates them with the 2000's helpless love interests films they act in. She associates being feminine with being weak.
I feel like her journey to accepting herself and her femininity would probably begin with Reyna or Annabeth-Strong powerful woman who are feminine enough-both can rock dresses and war armor just as easily and are, on the outside, sure of themselves and are well-respected. Her lesbian journey should begin with her kinda despising Reyna because she has a crush on her, and everyone mistaking it for jealousy.
On a different note, I feel that Jiper couldn't work out BECAUSE they are opposites, and both are gay.
Piper rejects all stereotypes she faces-being pretty and caring about appearance because she's a woman, the whole 'mess' with being Cherokee and the 'oh your so involved in ur culture ur weird' shit that goes on, being self-absorbed as a daughter of Aphrodite. She makes herself the opposite of these so much, and she turns it into her personality in a way, probably because of negative experiences with Hollywood.
Meanwhile Jason conforms to all his expectation, at least at Camp Jupiter. Be a good leader, be praetor, date Reyna, be strong, be caring, be the best, be handsome, be kind, be straight, be perfect. He's a people pleaser and a perfectionist, and he changes who he is to fit other expectations.
Also their relationship was set up by Hera and Aphrodite and what not healthy for either of them.

It struck me a while ago that Lùthien's creation of her magic cloak and escape from Hirilorn as told in the Book of Lost Tales strongly parallels the creation of the Two Trees from BoLT, to the point that I am 100% certain it was no coincidence on Tolkien's part.
In the BoLT, in preparation for the making of the Two Trees, "Ulmo rose from his deeps and fared to the blazing lakes and the pools of brilliance. Therefore he drew rivers of light into vast vessels, pouring back waters in their place, and with these he got him back to Valinor. There was all the light poured into two great cauldrons that Aulë fashioned in the gloom against his return, and those are called Kulullin and Silindrin."
The Valar dig two great pits in Valinor, and "In the one did Ulmo set seven rocks of gold brought from the most silent deeps of the sea, and a fragment was cast thereafter of the lamp that had burned awhile upon Helkar in the South. Then was the pit covered with rich earths that Palúrien devised, and Vána came who loveth life and sunlight and at whose song the flowers arise and open...There sang she the song of spring upon the mound, and danced about it, and watered it with great streams of that golden light that Ulmo had brought from the spilled lakes..."
"But in the other pit they cast three huge pearls that Ossë found in the Great Sea, and a small star Varda cast after them, and they covered it with foams and white mists and thereafter sprinkled lightly earth upon it, but Lorien who loveth twilights and flittering shadows...sat nigh and whispered swift noiseless words...and the Gods poured upon that place rivers of the white radiance and silver light which Silindrin held even to the brim..."
"Then came Palúrien, even Kémi the Earth-lady, wife of Aulë, mother of the lord of forests, and she wove spells about those two places, deep enchantments of life and growth and putting forth of leaf, blossoming and yielding of fruit - but she mingled no word of fading in her song."
Sometime later Laurëlin sprouts and begins to grow very fast for twelve hours until it is full-grown, and once those hours have passed, "the Valar saw a shoot arise in that place whereto the pools of Silindrin had been poured" and thus Telperion begins to grow also, like Laurëlin taking twelve hours to become fully grown.
Now compare this to the scene in the Tale of Tinuviel where Tinuviel creates her magic cloak in Hirilorn:
"The next day she asked those who came to her to bring, if they would, some of the clearest water of the stream below, "but this," she said, "must be drawn at midnight in a silver bowl, and brought to my hand with no word spoken," and after that she desired wine to be brought, "but this," she said, "must be borne hither in a flagon of gold at noon, and he who brings it must sing as he comes," and they did as they were bid, but Tinwelint was not told."
Soon enough, having everything she asked for, "...Tinuviel took the wine and water when she was alone, and singing a very magical song the while, she mingled them together, and as they lay in the bowl of gold she sang a song of growth, and as they lay in the bowl of silver she sang another song...Then did she lave her head with the mingled water and wine, and as she did so she sang a third song...and the hair of Tinúviel...began suddenly to grow very fast indeed, and after twelve hours had passed it nigh filled the little room..."
Both creations require the use of water which is gathered into two vessels, one made of silver and the other gold, the gold brought while singing, the silver brought in silence. The creations of the Trees and Lùthien's cloak requires the singing of three different songs, and only after the third does the magic truly begin to take effect. Both Lùthien's hair and each of the Two Trees takes twelve hours to grow.
Looking at all this, the parallels are way too strong to simply be a coincidence. Like cmon. I wanna talk about this.

Medieval Careers (Knight/Monarch and Peasant) by Lost Pantheon
"Introduction: This mod adds two new custom Medieval-era themed careers to the game: A Knight Career and a Peasant Career. The Knight Career has ten levels and allows you to become a Monarch at Level 10 (of one of its two paths) while the Peasant Career has four levels. So you wish to become a knight? It is not an easy path, but for those that strive for greatness, there can be no greater honour. A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of the state or church, or representative for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity. If you work your way from the mud-soaked hovels of peasantry, through the military system and even gain a knighthood yourself, you may even have the chance to seize the throne yourself, if your ambition and skills permit it. But hush! Do not speak of such treasonous things! You may simply wish to serve in the service of the Church, as a knight on a quest to protect pilgrims. – Knight Career Description The life of a peasant is tough, poorly-paid and (often) miserably short. If a war won't take your life then a disease may certainly do you in. Nonetheless, a kingdom runs on the backs of its peasants (or serfs) and if you work hard enough in the fields you maybe be able to work your way into the mercantile industry and make a bit of a name for yourself. Or else you could join the town guard, as they're always looking for new recruits. – Peasant Career Description

Assuming Rogue is close to the Chuldur (which seems a solid guess, he makes sure the gun’s out of the way the second there’s a risk it could actually get used on them) then they have such a good character setup right now. So good for why dancing with the Doctor’s so dangerous.
The birds have been hopping through places resembling their favourite ‘shows’, that’s what their “Season” as they called it is - we know it’s not just Brigerton, they don’t seem to have been here long and frankly don’t seem to have the attention span either, this is only the setting for the “season finale”.
We know they’ve watched Doctor Who (‘the Duchess’ knew the Doctor’s name without being introduced, and that he’d come back for some reason once the wedding/screaming at the end started).
So now you know all the birds are now thoroughly excited to play Doctor Who, cus this didn’t count, they barely saw him. And Rogue kissed him, squeeing ensues etc. ‘And it’ll be fun to have a cool character who isn’t just played by you, no offence.’
And Rogue knows he’s got a great hook to see the Doctor again. Wants to. He’s got the whole plotline sketched out.
…But he also knows that his fam only like to play their Baddy Characters Pretending To Be TV Characters, because honestly they’re not great at the roleplay thing, and even if he tries to convince them they’ve got to stay super-duper-undercover they probably won’t, and the Doctor has told and shown him directly that he will worse-than-kill them if this goes sideways.
When he’s the devilish Bounty Hunter, or Pirate Hunter, or Vampire Hunter trying to catch them, that’s one thing. He’s quick, he’s clever, he’s always two-steps ahead of them. But that’s easy, because they’re idiots. The Doctor isn’t. The Doctor is an actual threat. But they won’t want to be left behind when he plays alone either, and who knows what they’ll get up to if one of the others decides to take up his dungeon master mantle in his absence. So the question is, will he be able to balance them all and keep them safe next time too?
(My endgame would be: Ideally the Doctor has since become convinced that Rogue is the Master just pretending, but he wants to keep the pretence up cus their relationship now is working isn’t it? But either way, we get a reprise where the Doctor gets into Oncoming Storm Mode which while he usually tries to keep a lid on in front of companions, he thinks Rogue already saw so might not have the mask on so well where he’s concerned, and especially if he thinks this is the Master that could bring out the worst in him. And now the birds are actually going to die, and finally Rogue breaks character- all of the characters, for them and us as the audience- and screams for them, by name, to run. Has to throw himself after them to save them. And does he? If I was writing it, with nothing else to guide my hand, no, he wouldn’t. Those are the dangers of playing pretend in real life. Playing villains. Playing with the Doctor. And if he wasn’t the Master before, maybe now he is.)

Do I respect people who choose to use Ovid's retellings of the Greek myths rather than Ancient Greek sources? Absolutely.
Will I judge people who use Ovid's retellings of the Greek myths without using Roman names or without placing them in the context of Ancient Rome? Absolutely.
Will I hate the people who will for example take elements of Ovid and project them onto Homer's Iliad or Odyssey? Definitively.

Euripides, fr. 137 (Andromeda)
“Best of all riches is to find a noble spouse.”
Euripides, fr. 320 (Danae)
“There is neither fortress nor fortune
Nor anything else as hard to guard as a woman.”
We’re going back in time, to Ancient Greece to recover Euripides’s lost plays
