hi! thanks for your blog. do you have any recs for realistic mental health fics? thanks!
Hi anon! I can share some fics that resonated with me but please keep in mind that I’m no expert on the topic and cannot attest nor validate these portrayals in a professional capacity. I hope they work for you!
Touched by @writcraft (T, 7k)
On the insistence of his parents, Draco begins to see a therapist to discuss his difficulties with physical intimacy. When he changes his appointment time, Draco discovers he’s not the only one seeking assistance as a result of events which occurred during the war and he finds comfort in the most unexpected of places.
The Body Keeps Score by amorsindolor (E, 13k)
Draco cries during sex. A story about touch, intimacy, and the healing we find through mutual trust and love.
Edificabo by @doubleappled (E, 18k)
Numb and exhausted after the war, Harry returns to the only real home he’s ever known. Hogwarts needs help, too.
All That Remains by lordhellebore (M, 21k)
In a Great Britain destroyed by war and plagued by magical epidemics, those who are left behind struggle to survive and find meaning. While Draco battles his guilt by becoming a social worker, Harry is headed down a path of self-destruction.
Come Hell or High Water, anon (M, 22k)
In his bed under Mungo's floating candles, Harry sips tea, watches reality TV, and does his best not to pay any mind to the curse which has invaded his body.
Vale Sanare by RurouniHime (M, 23k)
Draco’s world gains a new component just when he thought he’d sorted everything out.
Holly and Hawthorn, Thistle and Thyme by bryoneybrynn (E, 31k)
After the war, Harry can’t shake the feeling that something is very wrong with him and he has a terrible feeling he knows what that “something” might be. He has a terrible feeling Malfoy might know, too.
(Un)wanted by @aibidil (E, 36k)
Ginny's pregnant, then she's not and Harry's single. Harry, again with no family, doesn't know what to do with this turn of events, or how to find a new life—post-war, post-Ginny, post-abortion—in which he belongs.
He Who Must Not Be Normal by lettered (E, 41k)
Potter has fame and fortune and posh clothes and all he wants is a simple life. Draco has a flat and a cat and a steady job and all he wants is a complicated life.
A Piercing Comfort by talithan (T, 44k)
When Harry Potter hits the lowest point of his life so far, it is not his friends who keep him honest. With Draco Malfoy's patience and guidance, Harry learns to stand on his own. The thing is, after the fact—he's no longer sure he wants to.
The Four Doors by @fluxweeed (E, 49k)
It’s been four months since Harry lost his memory. Four months of dead ends and no answers. With time running out until his memories are gone for good, Harry agrees to a course of Legilimency therapy with a renowned specialist: Mind Healer Draco Malfoy.
Here's The Pencil, Make It Work by ignatiustrout (M, 49k)
Harry thinks "Why is Malfoy working in a coffee shop in muggle London?" is a much simpler question than, "Are you going to accept that auror offer and, if you don't, what will you do?"
Chocolate and Pastry by agentmoppet, anemonen (E, 50k)
When Pansy bets Draco that there is no chance he and Harry could carry out a genuine romantic relationship, he and Harry form a plan. But as their fake relationship progresses, Draco sees a side of Harry he never expected.
(We'll Call This Fixer-Upper) Home by @phdmama (E, 52k)
Draco Malfoy hasn’t set foot on English soil in ten years. After the war, he fled to America, where he found himself in a community, and healed himself through following his heart into music. He’s now the lead singer and songwriter for an internationally known band, who have come back to headline the Wiltshire Music Festival.
Meet Me at Midnight by @the-starryknight (T, 57k)
Harry was beginning to wonder if he’d ever make anything again when Malfoy stormed through the door of Harry’s furniture shop. Now Harry’s got an impossible Ministry commission to finish, and even less energy than ever to deal with his elusive muse.
The Way Down by lettered (T, 65k)
Harry is overwhelmed by his own power and fame and angst, so he's become a hermit. Draco Malfoy is tired of the melodrama.
I Am Not Who I Became by mab_di (E, 93k)
Draco left England after the trials and has travelled the world meeting wizards and Muggles from different cultures and with vastly different relationships to magic, each other, and the natural world. Now he's a fisherman in Finland on commercial vessels. Harry has been struggling since the war and has become a recluse while trying to write his autobiography.
By the Grace by lettered (T, 140k)
Harry is an Auror instructor. Malfoy wants to be an Auror.

Terfs are so ridiculous about "clocking" trans people, you can show them a picture of JKR and ask them if this is a man and they'll go YES THAT'S A MANLY MAN DON'T YOU SEE THE MANLY FACE BONES. I've seen it happen.
Yep. It's utter and complete bullshit. And also? It's deeply misogynistic. Terfs want to exclude all women who don't fit their vision of what women are supposed to be and look like, and apparently that is a very similar vision to that of the people they profess to hate the most: misogynistic men. But tell them that and you're the devil impersonate.

that little forced marriage drabble from tacky has me thirtsty, do you have any recs for forced dating / forced marriage? 🩵
Right?? I am salivating over that wip, come answer for your crimes @tackytigerfic! I do, in fact, have a few recs for that trope (not enough! would love to find more because That Old Black Magic made me feral for it). I hope you enjoy these, please note that not all of them are enemies to lovers:
Take the Moon by @tackytigerfic (E, 15k)
Harry Potter has always wanted a family of his own, and when a deadly blood curse forces him into a marriage bond with his best friend Draco Malfoy, it looks like he might just have found one. It's just a shame they’d always planned to break up after a year…
The Marriage Contract series by @fluxweeed (E, 15k)
In what universe is it fair that marrying Draco Malfoy is the only way for Harry to get his magic back?
The Matchmaker's Spell by @kbrick (E, 21k)
Thanks to a spell cast over all of wizarding Britain, Draco is forced to marry Harry Potter, who still hates him. But Draco refuses to live a cold, sexless existence, choosing to fill the emptiness in his life and his bed with a parade of lovers. And while Harry may not be able to stand Draco, he despises seeing him with anyone else.
The Only Magic Left Between Us by @lqtraintracks (E, 24k)
Harry goes to the market and ends up having to save Draco Malfoy’s life with sex. He saves Draco’s life with sex and ends up with a husband. The last thing he expects in all of it is to fall in love.
You'll Still Find Stone by flightinflame (M, 42k)
Draco had to marry Potter to stay out of Azkaban. Narcissa told him he’d be safer there. But he doesn’t know what Potter expects from him - this marriage is nothing like he had been prepared for. Potter’s acting kindly, and he knows it’s all a trick. He’s just about coping, but trying to keep Potter happy becomes more important than ever when he realises he’s carrying the man’s child.
what husbands are for by @softlystarstruck (E, 52k)
To settle tensions between werewolves and vampires, Harry volunteers for a political marriage. But it turns out he's marrying Malfoy– cold, untouchable Malfoy, who he hasn't seen in ten years. Throughout contention and politics, werewolf pub nights and grudgingly shared meals, they have to make it work.
That Old Black Magic by @bixgirl1 (E, 77k)
Centuries ago, marriage contracts were the norm — ready-made alliances between families, expected and complied with, without complaint. But norms have a way of changing, and when a long-dormant contract flares to life, Harry has to navigate an unexpected splintering of the path he'd thought would be easy after the war... with Draco Malfoy.
Merlin Works in Mysterious Ways by lordhellebore (M, 82k)
When Harry is forced to form a Blood Bond with Draco Malfoy under threat of death, he thinks his future will consist of a cold home and sexual frustration. But when a group of left-over Death Eaters decides to stir trouble, their lives change completely – and it takes them both some years to figure out whether it’s for better or for worse.
Grounds for Divorce by Tepre (E, 122k)
Malfoy finds a coin. Harry finds a letter. A story about histories, a story about families. A story about a lemon tree somewhere in Upper Egypt.
The Marriage of True Minds by Lomonaaeren (E, 204k)
Lucius curses Harry and Draco into a forced marriage. They're only required to live together, not be together, and so they try to date other people. But over time, things change.

Hey!
Thanks for all the great work you do for the fandom! I couldn't go through the entire masterlist so not sure if this rec has already been answered.
Do you have any drarry fics which is just a complete emotional roller-coaster ride? Something very emotional and gut-wrenching?
Thanks again!
Hi anon, you’re very welcome! Sure thing, here are my favorites. This list has a focus on long fics but if you’re into shorts I also did an angsty rec list here. Happy Holidays!
(Un)wanted by @aibidil (E, 36k)
Ginny's pregnant, then she's not and Harry's single. Harry, again with no family, doesn't know what to do with this turn of events, or how to find a new life—post-war, post-Ginny, post-abortion—in which he belongs. He doesn't expect that life to include dancing to the Backstreet Boys with Hermione and Draco Malfoy. A story of finding belonging in the unexpected.
Stop All the Clocks (This Is the Last Time I’m Leaving Without You) by @firethesound (E, 44k)
Living with Draco was difficult; living without him is unbearable. But if there’s one thing Harry learned from the war, it’s that even when one life ends, the rest of the world goes right on living.
The Boy Who Only Lived Twice by lettered (E, 54k)
Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.
Super Rich Kids by @thusspoketrish (E, 81k)
Draco Malfoy has become disillusioned by the glitz and glamour of the scandalous lives of the Post-Second Wizarding War Pureblood Elite. Enter: one existential crisis, one group of thieving cynical friends, and several terrible, terrible decisions.
Dwelling by aideomai (T, 83k)
Curses, James and Lily Potter ride again, several Ministry balls, a teenage Summer of Love, a grim young adult dystopian winter, a few different Draco Malfoys, secrets and the problems re: not having any, alternate lives, impossible lives, real lives, allusions to Dirty Dancing, and just because it's not called the Mirror of Erised doesn't mean you shouldn't know better.
Nor All That Glisters by @sweet-s0rr0w (E, 110k)
Lonely and frustrated on house arrest, with no prospects for the future, Draco begins brewing Felix Felicis in an attempt to improve his lot. Just in the short term, of course. He isn’t a total idiot. But before long he finds himself with a thriving business, a nice flat, some actual (albeit irritatingly Gryffindor) friends, and a very satisfying sex life. What’s more, no-one is hexing him in the street. And Harry Potter is single, and gorgeous, and giving Draco decidedly interested looks.
Far From The Tree by aideomai (E, 112k)
The arrival of Harry Potter’s children—snapped back in time, the children themselves guessed, twenty or so yearswas the most interesting thing to happen at Hogwarts for years.
Another Mask Behind You by lettered (E, 116k)
Draco is a high-end prostitute who hides his identity. Harry unknowingly hires him. And then there is porn, questions about identity, domestic bliss, more porn, and truth as seen through a web of lies. (And then more porn. Seriously, if you don’t want sex scene after sex scene you probably shouldn’t read this. And please read the warnings.)
Grounds for Divorce by Tepre (E, 122k)
Malfoy finds a coin. Harry finds a letter. A story about histories, a story about families. A story about a lemon tree somewhere in Upper Egypt.
Away Childish Things by lettered (T, 153k)
Harry gets de-aged. Malfoy has to help him.
Twist of Fate by Oakstone730 (T, 302k)
Draco asks Harry to help him beat the Imperius curse during 4th year. The lessons turn into more than either expected. A story of redemption and forgiveness.

Hiiii I LOVEE your blog, I’ve been following it for ages but have never put a request so.. here goes..
Can you rec any hurt harry fics on the longer side??
Please and thank u☕️
Hi anon! Welcome to the ask box 😊 sure thing, love me some Harry whump, I’ve included both physical and emotional/mental hurt:
Bad Medicine by playout (E, 25k)
As an Auror, Harry is no stranger to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries but he has reached his limit with his confidential information appearing in the Prophet after every visit. He's angry enough to give even his childhood nemesis's private practice a go. At least if Harry's secrets show up in the paper now, he'll know who to hex.
Match Fit by ravenclawsquill (E, 25k)
After picking up a groin injury just two weeks before the Quidditch World Cup Final, star Seeker Harry Potter reluctantly agrees to seek help from world-renowned Magi-Physiotherapist, Draco Malfoy.
A Year in Training by Omi_Ohmy (M, 25k)
Harry is finally living his dream and training as an Auror, but nothing seems to be going right: he’s just so angry all the time. And Draco Malfoy’s presence on the programme really isn’t helping with that, either.
Breathe In (and Feel No Hurt) by Constance1 (T, 38k)
A tale of love, loss, and of finding hope again. Or the story of how Draco turned into a house-cat in order to secretly bother a depressed Harry Potter until he was no longer feeling sorry for himself.
The Four Doors by @fluxweeed (E, 48k)
It’s been four months since Harry lost his memory. Four months of dead ends and no answers. With time running out until his memories are gone for good, Harry agrees to a course of Legilimency therapy with a renowned specialist: Mind Healer Draco Malfoy.
That is, until he stumbles upon the surreal and beautiful world of a mysterious fae creature…
Balance, Imperfect by @bixgirl1 (E, 91k)
When Harry sustains an injury in the line of work, he no longer knows how to navigate the life he loved, and finds help and solace from the most unexpected source.
Soup-pocalypse and The Great Curry Cataclysm by SquadOfCats (E, 104k)
Eleven years after the war, Draco Malfoy leads a quiet, boring, and perfectly respectable life, thanks very much. Or, at least he does, until a sudden and very unexpected veela awakening causes him to throw soup all over Harry Potter in the middle of the Ministry cafeteria.
Any Instrument by @dictacontrion (E, 131k)
Draco Malfoy wouldn't go back to England for anything less than an exceptional case. Being asked to figure out why Harry Potter can't control his magic might be exceptional enough to qualify.

Also keine neuen Bücher oder Filme dazuerfinden. Das Konzept hat sich überlebt. Manche Sachen - so wie einen Winnetou und Karl May-Franchise in der Art und Weise, wie er grade zu schaffen versucht wird - sollte man einfach seinlassen.

u know when ppl say others should die it means "stop existing near the source of issue" u just kinda look like u dont understand that context and are making a bit a fool bt assuming something thats not
People told me to "get raped" as well. Would you be so kind as to translate the hidden harmless meaning behind that? Or maybe you should face the fact that words mean things and everyone who tells others they should die is being disgusting.

I can't believe the discourse has finally gone from "tags are good, warning people in case they get triggered is good, we need to care about each other's mental health even if we don't understand it" to "I don't need to tag if I don't want to, your triggers are not my responsibility, your mental health is not my responsibility, maybe you just need to stay away from fandom if you can't handle it".
Thanks for that.
I don't need to tag if I don't want to
I dunno who said that, but I certainly never did. I use a trigger warning on ALL my fics. It's called "Choose not to use Archive Warnings". But "your triggers are not my responsibility [beyond making sure I do warn in an obvious way], maybe you just need to stay away from fandom if you can't handle it"? Absolutely yes. If you can't handle the fact that some authors choose unspecific warnings that only say "here be monsters, read at own risk", if you can't deal with the fact that some stories simply may not be for you, if you cannot cope with the fact that not everyone's participation in fandom is like yours or needs to be like yours to be valid . . . . . . then maybe you need to take a break from fandom for as long as it takes you to realise that you're important and your feelings and needs matter, but no more than any other person's.

You were shit talking me that is bullying
I said, and I quote: "that's what i thought too, it sounds like them." If you want me to take you seriously, you will have to explain to me how: "This ask sounds like [person] wrote it," is "shit talking". It's a neutral statement that I made based on a) the content of the ask, and b) the writing patterns of your previous asks. I did not ascribe any negative qualities to you. I did not say, "This sounds whiny like them," or, "Yes, it sounds like them, only they would write something silly like that," or any other disparaging statement. I know you're experiencing strong emotions and acting on them, but I encourage you to use your head instead. It will make interacting with people much, much easier in the long term, because nobody likes being accused of things that are not true. So, let’s recap: I said: “This asks sounds like RSD anon wrote it.” You said: “I hope you die horribly.” I’m sure you can see which statement is the unacceptable one here.

Hey kill yourself hp fan
Hmmm. So if I do that, will you pay the several thousand Euros for my son's court-ordered psychiatric assessments that are necessary so he can change names and no longer has to sign with his deadname and see it on all his papers? Will you celebrate his first shot of t with him? Or his changed birth certificate? Will you help him pick a surgeon or take care of him after his mastectomy and hysterectomy? No? Yeah well, no can do, my kid is objectively more important than your wishes, sorry not sorry. (Will you celebrate with me when I can finally get rid of my deadname? ... Didn’t think so.) ---- On a more serious note (although I meant all of that quite seriously): Get professional help, anon. Nobody who’s even remotely all right would suicide bait another human being, and certainly not over something like liking a fictional story, no matter how bad the story might be or what kind of arsehole the author is. You’re disgusting and pathetic. Be ashamed of yourself and do better.

God, I was hoping you’d reply. I’m glad you’re such a good boy. I love worthless little idiots like you. I’d love to use your ass bloody and pour bleach down your autist throat. I know it won’t cure you, but it’s still fun to pretend.
Hey, FYI, you sent your whump RP messages to the wrong blog :) I’m sure it was purely by accident :’)))

The way that ‘pro shippers die’ post is full of ppl reblogging, agreeing and tagging with “threats cw”… bro what…
Normal, moral people, I tell you. They're either very very stupid and don't understand what dying means. Or they're extremely disturbed, or both. But one thing seems more and more obvious to me: they don't see people they disagree with on this subject as human beings. And that's disconcerting, to say the least. The conviction that others are not human beings with the same rights as yourself leads down a dark, dangerous path.

W that person you were arguing with about AO3… it’s NOT CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION MATERIAL IF ITS WRITTEN, I am going to scream. These people love to throw around “porn” because it’s icky even though the term is offensive to survivors and disingenuous about why it’s a crime (exploiting a real actual child!)
Yep. I’m slowly taking on the stance that since they think that real children being hurt terribly is no worse than people writing about figments of their imagination, anything they say can be dismissed on sight. I’ve actually used it sometimes in discussion. Not: “But it’s fiction so it’s less terrible than real CSAM.” But instead: “Oh, so you think real CSA(M) is as harmless as some fictional story? Wow. I’m horrified by your stance.” Their reaction is impotent rage, but imho it’s more accurate to what their beliefs really are. EDIT: “child sexual assault material” can’t be written, because no real children are being assaulted in fiction.
