I really miss when Fire Emblem characters could only romance up to three people at most instead of over ten. It felt so much more organic.

Raise your hands if you think that the Engage Expansion Pass should’ve included Alm, Eliwood, Azura, Ryoma and/Or Xander in one of the 3rd-4th Wave DLC ✋🏻

i just think it’s very nice that the very first lord who had his sexuality intensely debated at length between being asexual, bi or gay (and has zero (0) hetero endings in either game) is the one who ended up with this line 😌

finally finished fe6 after dropping it a couple times throughout my life, and after all the frustration with all the berserk and sleep attacks and reinforcements, i miss it😭 I love roy and he is absolutely not the worst lord and I will die on this hill. he actually ended up having better stats than any of my eliwoods and my ike in path of radiance (he had the worst growths and i thought he was just bad but i was just that unlucky💀) and i hate the argument that he's carried by the sealed sword. at least he has that????? eliwood didn't have any weapon to make him better😭

Note
Eliwood should have been a lance lord. Not only would it ensure all 3 lords have a different weapon type, Eliwood literally has S rank lances in fe6.

There’s a candle tapering away the last of its life on the table. Phila watches the wax congeal in the crevices of an elaborately wrought iron sconce, and feels sick to her stomach. They need to leave. They need to leave, now.
But she doesn’t leave. Instead, she is takes the seat offered to her with a ‘Thank you’ so quiet it’s almost inaudible. It lulls her with its familiarity. Old memories of meetings with diplomats, of standing vigil behind her Grace’s chair, of staring down those men who wanted to eat her alive, and knowing that she could do nothing except whisper those words: thank you.
The table is enormous, large enough to house at least a hundred of them: a gallery of pale-faced cowards, bright innocents and monsters. No, monster was too fanciful. The man who guided to her seat, and pushed her chair in with the force of a gaoler, was not a monster. He was far worse.
A monster can be killed, after all.
Across from her sits the man the monastery sent. Does he know? They’re leagues apart, her at one end, he at the other, their host in the midst. If she attempts to make a communication that their esteemed Duke is unaware of… She can’t afford it, can’t risk an unapt word.
They had arrived that morning. Phila was far from gifted in magic, and the remnants of what this land called ‘Faith’ had long since been drained from her. What use could dead hands be, in tending to the living? She had been sent as a piece of flesh, to carry things, or sort the inventory. And she knew this. Was quite reconciled to it. But he, her companion. She could not allow harm to come to him. To sully the memory of her sister's sacrifice would not do. No more innocent blood, she had sworn it.
‘Shall we dine?’ The Duke asks.
And, without waiting for their comment, he seizes upon a knife and fork. He moves them with careful precision as if they didn't quite fit in his hands. There is silence, except for the sickening squelch of a knife cleaving meat.
He eats quite happily, for a man who just hours ago had transformed into something hideous.
Phila hadn’t meant to see him, she had just been inspecting the halls. The portraits fascinated her, and a selfish impulse had lead her in search of a music room. Most self-respecting nobles were in possession of one.
Instead she had found him, door ajar, writhing and screeching in pain and she had drawn closer, ready to do battle with whatever was making an attempt on his life, only to encounter… It was impossible to describe. She wasn’t a poet. Nightmares were supposed to be their realm.
He hadn’t seen her, and that was a small mercy. But now she had been brought to a more acute awareness of their entrapment. And she was, as ever, as always, utterly helpless.
Phila bends her head, she takes a bite of something warm.
@pheraed oh dear...

Marcus, what kind of couple were Lord Eliwood and his wife?
THANK YOU FOR READING!!! This scene was written and commissioned by @woodland-knight from their piece "A Kiss by the Riverbed". Thank you so much for your support, I wanted to make a comic that was beautiful & engaging to look at while making you feel nostalgic for FE7. I want to make more comics like this (& BEYOND!!) in the future so I appreciate you checking it out.
I will also be posting this comic on my website (link in my bio) with links to the original fic this was based on if you ever want to easily find this comic or any other one that I’ve made. I even have another LynEli comic on there already! (My commissions, including comics, are open on my website right now if you wanted to check it out also!)

Whenever I play FE7 I always start with “I wonder who I’ll use this time!”
And I know full well I’m using the Lords, Florina, the Cornwell trio, Legault and Ninian at least.
Maybe I’ll try using Fiora over Heath this time… but I love using Heath…
Serra for whatever reason has gotten 3 5-point level ups and I feel like I have to use her for the sheer gumption and that’s already all or all but 1 of the Guiding Rings.
Maaaaybe I’ll try using Dorcas? (I will not use Dorcas.) And Matthew is always a non-issue because I just like Legault more and there’s only one Fell Contract.
And I STILL have never played Hector mode. So maybe if I still feel like it after Eliwood’s I’ll also use Farina? Actually using the Pegasus sisters imagine that…

Erk flusters at Lord Eliwood's praise, ducking behind a book to hide his face. He tries to open his mouth in rebuke, but it only comes out as a shaky little squeak.
Lord Pent would offer you a better experience. I'm not talented at all. Not like Lord Pent is. Lord Pent is better than me in every way. Lord Pent knows what to say whenever he wants to say anything. I wish I was...
Even half as good as he is.
"Perhaps... if we are to face each other in the mock battle..." He clears his throat, willing the flush across his cheeks to go away, "that would be alright... I will try my best if that is to be the case, Sir Eliwood."

FE7 Uther Character Analysis! (Hector’s older brother)
Stuff I’ve learned about Uther’s character while delving deep deep deep into FE7 lore and support conversations.
Uther can be treacherous. (Matthew and Oswin have a convo where they admit that Uther has a talent for treachery that Hector does not)
Uther can be impatient, and actually prefers making quick decisions rather than waiting around. Which is interesting given how much he manipulates people like chess pieces.
Uther secretly supported Lyn’s succession to the Caelin throne, even though the other marches were supposed to remain impartial.
Uther for sure sent Matthew to assist Lyn in her succession. (Though he was not supposed to.) but why the fuck was Serra given a body guard and sent on a “quest” to bum-fuck nowhere, that just happened to be in Lyn’s path, and suddenly her quest was not so important that she “abandoned” it to help Lyn. Why is it that the ONLY Marquess to lend Lyn any of their retainers was Uther? And he lent two. DESPITE his supposed neutrality during the succession. (But Matthew revealed that was a bluff, and Uther backed her all the way. Neutral my ass.)
Uther manipulated his Brother to go help Eliwood, without making it look as if he supported Eliwood’s cause, or Hector’s actions. (He needed to appear impartial as all the other marches had spies observing his actions and decisions, and openly supporting Eliwood would put Ostia in a precarious position, Especially since Uther is head of the Lycian League.) The man clearly knows how to play his Brother like a pawn. But in a good way.
Uther sent Leila to investigate the Black Fang and Lord Elbert’s missing whereabouts, despite claims that he has no interest in the matter, and Ostian won’t get involved. (Lies)
Uther keeps everything close to the chest. And withholds important information from even his own Brother. It seems Oswin is one of the only people he trusts implicitly.
Uther is both shrewd and pragmatic, as is evidenced by his dismantling of House Cornwall, another March in Lycia.
Oswin reveals in a support with Priscilla that Uther sent Oswin to investigate the matter regarding House Cornwall and whether or not Marquess Cornwall and his wife were stealing/embezzling Lycian funds. Oswin reveals this to be true. And that he and Uther played a part in the downfall of House Cornwall, Lady Priscilla and Lord Raven’s home. (Thus Raven’s grudge against Ostia and by extension, Hector.)
The whole incident with House Cornwall happened when Priscilla and Raven were small, so it stands to reason that Uther has been Marquess of Ostia for quite sometime. Probably since Hector was 10 or younger. Given the timeline of events, Uther couldn’t have become Marquess of Ostia anytime recent to the events of FE7.
The etymology of Uther’s name: “Uther Pendragon is the name of King Arthur's father, who traditionally fell in love with the Count of Cornwall's wife, Igerne, and attacked Cornwall to win her. Merlin, knowing that Arthur was to be born of Uther and Igerne, helped Uther disguise himself as the Count so that he could sneak into Tintagel, the Count's stronghold, and conceive Arthur with Igerne. That night, the Count also died, and Uther later married Igerne.”
Uther was inspired by a man famous for seducing another man’s wife. (I’m laughing my ass off that I chose to write a fic where Uther steals his Brother’s fiancée. It was entirely accidental, I was not aware of the lore surrounding Uther Pendragon when I wrote the fic. It was for all intents meant to be a crack fic. But now I’m dying inside from laughter and coincidence.)
Uther had an unused General class, which I find very interesting given he has TB, and that armor must be a bitch to wear. But this implies that Uther, like Hector, has immense constitution and fortitude. He’s definitely not a small or frail man, even if he’s ill.
Uther raised Hector like a father figure after their parents died, which implies that their parents died at least some time before the events of the game. Hector would have been much younger if he still needed a father figure in his older brother.
Implied that the Illness (likely a form of fantasy TB) that killed Uther is the same illness that took his and Hector’s parents.
Not lore related, but it can sometimes take years and years for someone to expire from TB, so Uther could have been afflicted by it for years before he succumbed to it.
Anyway, I am FASCINATED by this character. He’s so duplicitous. Like, he’s clearly a good guy, but also flaunts some interesting manipulative tendencies. And I think Matthew and Oswin’s in game conversation where they assess that Uther is treacherous is very intriguing. Like even his retainers recognize that this man has some darker edges to his otherwise good character.
I hate that he’s become one of my favorite characters despite him hardly being in FE7 at all. I seriously did not set forth to adore this character as much as I have. But I love me a morally dubious good guy. And for as little information the games give us about Uther, he’s a surprisingly complex character.

It feels weird to know that your tastes in characters from a game you played so long ago has changed, but not completely
Because I'm like
Fuck yeah I still love Kent !! Vaida rules !!! Renault ? Fuck yeah !
... But do I still love Heath as much as I did in the past ? Should I replay the game and determine if I still love this man, when I'm somehow unsure about it now ??
Since when is Eliwood my favourite lord of the trio ??? I found Ninian boring and now I look at her and I feel so much affection for her character ??
Why can't I quite remember why I loved Fiora so much ??? Or Raven ?? Why do I find Raven boring now, when I adored him as a teen ?
But also I'm certain that if I replayed it I would fall in love with Isadora
.... Feels weird, but then it's been more than twenty years, but still

What do you think the top and bottom preferences are for all the male FE lords?
Oof, that's a lot all at once...and it also assumes that all of these guys are into men which is quite the stretch for some of them. Still...
Marth - How in the world am I supposed to answer this one? He's got a canon girlfriend and his personality is several different flavors of bland depending on the game. I'm sure the Smash Bros. fandom pegs him as a bottom since he's the fem counterpart to Ike there...but he could honestly go either way - so vers.
Alm - Again, painfully heterosexual so I have no idea how to answer this. Might have fooled around with his villager buddies, but I doubt they ever got to anal. Let's call him a side (i.e. sleeps with men but not into anal) and move on.
Sigurd - Deirdre-sexual in canon, but might have gotten drunk and fooled around with Quan (and Eldigan?) when they were in school together. Probably has bottom or sub top tendencies as a result in the extremely unlikely event event that he's ever with a guy, because Quan is just like that.
Seliph - If we take his Chosen One status as topping, then he does that. It's so hard to say, but it'd be comically fitting if he were a calm and self-assured vers in contrast to his cousin...
Leif - Whatever he does he's pissed about it, so hardcore top or bratty power bottom. He has issues.
Roy - Can I just say he's 15 and move on? Eh, the game pairs him up so I suppose not...but he's just so bland.
Eliwood - I'm sure the internet would peg him as a weepy bottom, but I see more attentive service top. Will bottom in the right conditions, but more assuredly than his reputation likely suggests.
Hector - Aggressive power top probably with internalized homophobia who also likes having his ass played with but is insecure about who knows that.
Ephraim - Aggressively vers for his knight buddies or Duessel or whoever else he has as an erotic sparring partner. *coughs* If it's Innes, they fight over who gets to top...even though neither of them really lose no matter what.
Ike - Looks and acts like a top, but could swing vers for the right guy. This probably means Ranulf, because top!Soren is super exotic and rare.
Chrom - Bland...I don't know, tops so when he's fucking m!Robin he can close his eyes and pretend he's with f!Robin or the village maiden or whoever. (Also I'm not counting Avatars as lords here.)
Dimitri - Physically cannot top in most cases lest he accidentally kill his partner with his superpowered Blaiddyd cock, so he's gotten accustomed to bottoming. Felix can take it though on account of his equally superpowered Fraldarius ass.
Claude - You will never know what he's into until the moment he tries it out, and even then he might not be entirely honest about it. Vers, and mischievously so.
