I feel like sparring with Suguru (especially with cult leader! suguru) he would be sooo intimate and mischievously coy with you. Like, it'll be the little fragile finger grazes slipping across your hips, agonizingly slowly. The hot, prodding whispers of encouragement and slight taunt bellowing directly into the depths of your ringing ears. And god, don't even get me started on the way this man swiftly and easily maneuvers manhandles your every abrasive attack, how easily he pins you to the nearest solid object. Hips solidly connected with yours, eyes leering ever so intently and strictly into your own — creates a massive swarm of unwarranted butterflies deep within your fluttering tummy.

We know why the costuming changed in series III from a production standpoint.

But in fiction I think Lister started customising his clothes because he had always wanted to but never had the time/motivation/freedom to do so. and being lost in deep space with no authority or job or people or much else to do he realised that being creative with his clothes could be an outlet for him

#red dwarf #and what if his wardrobe is more limited in the early series because they weren't originally his clothes #after being stranded on mimas he ended up on the ship with next to nothing #he was provided with a uniform (which he wore loosely) and some of the guys gave him things. he picked up the rest in bits and pieces #and 3 million years later he doesn't have to worry about money. he can just take anything #hence by S3 he's experimenting and having fun with his clothes #makes sense to me #fmj #fmj: text
