"This is boring."
Zephyr sighs, pinching the bridge of their nose.
"Yes, Ifrit, I heard you the first time," they huff, squinting at the grocery list to try and decipher Mountain's messy handwritting.
Ifrit, though he offered to go with them when Zephyr had announced they were going to the store, is now restless, making it hard for them to focus on the task at hand. He's carrying the already half-full basket, swinging it effortlessly. Zephyr cringes at the thought of the eggs probably hanging on for dear life at the bottom of it, or the various glass bottles lined dangerously close on the shelves.
"For the love of Satan- stop doing that, you're going to break something."
Ifrit whines, pouting exageratedly.
"I'm bored, Zeph. Can we get cotton candy ?"
"Don't we still have some ?" Zephyr asks, handing him a bottle of apple juice that the fire ghoul drops carelessly with the rest. Lucifer, the eggs.
"Nooooo, Dew ate it," Ifrit complains, giving Zephyr his best puppy dog eyes. Him and his sweet tooth. If they're being honnest, they find it quite adorable, and they've never been good at refusing him anything - especially not with that look on Ifrit's face.
"Fine, let me just grab a thing or two and we're getting some," Zephyr sighs defeatedly. Ifrit perks up, and really, his bright smile is worth it, even if his fangs don't peek out like they would unglamored.
Of course, once in the candy aisle, Ifrit's eyes light up, roaming over every sugary treats with endearing wonder. It's not until they're smacked in the leg by it that Zephyr realizes that his spaded tail is wagging excitedly behind him. They hiss, looking around for any witness, wedging themselves behind Ifrit to whisper in mild panic.
"Ifrit, glamor !"
The fire ghoul makes a confused little "mrrphh ?" noise, still fascinated by the candies, the decidedly not human-passing sound adding to Zephyr's rapidly increasing blood pressure. They glance around again, finding no one but a security camera ; whoever will check the footages later will probably question their sanity, but that's the least of Zephyr's worries right now.
"Hide. Your. Tail." they grunt, lightly tapping it with their cane, and Ifrit blessedly finally catches on, glamoring the offending appendage once again with an apologetic sound. He turns around, waving the cotton candy he picked as Zephyr relaxes. Until they catch sight of curved fangs poking out of the fire ghoul's mouth. Judging by the mischievious glint in Ifrit's eyes, he's now fucking with them. Oh, so he wants to play. With a sharp huff, they reach up and tangle a hand in soft black hair, tugging just enough to make Ifrit jolt lightly and bring his head down, mere inches away from Zephyr's own.
"Be good and you'll be rewarded, yes ?"
Ifrit's pupils expand, his face flushing pink as he nods.
"Good boy," Zephyr purrs, patting his cheek a bit patronizingly, relishing in the way it darkens his blush to a a glaringly obvious red. They turn sharply on their heels, heading for the checkout.
"Come along then. We still have to pay. Don't forget your cavity-inducing monstruosity of a snack !"
Zephyr smirks as Ifrit jogs after them, flustered and suddenly much quieter. The cashier gives them a weird look, but doesn't say anything about the way Ifrit drapes himself over Zephyr's back while they pay, chin hooked on their shoulder.
"Come on sweet boy. Let's go home. I hope you didn't scramble the eggs with all that, or Aeth is going to have your ass."

What's your take on Copiiia?
Anxious little rat man who probably has self esteem issues. In his thirst to prove himself he bit off more than he could chew but he's capable enough to handle the work. Its the death threats that are getting to him. His precarious position as Papa which is as precarious as his predecessors' doesn't help. He knew it was dangerous tho and he's making the best of it. But the crowds at Ritual are worth it. He lives for it. Loves meeting fans and knowing his work helps.
Honestly I believe he probably struggles with being Papa knowing it meant the death of the first three. He looks genuinely upset in the photo where he's holding Terzo's remains. He probably isn't too friendly with the people he knows did it but tries. Sister Imperator and his relationship is complicated and it chafes. Probably gets a kick out of calling Nihil a dickhead and disrespecting him now that the bastard is dead. I think he's one for peaceful resolutions and punishing them scares them bc it would be a revolt and it's a whole painful awful deadly risk.
He loves his ghouls and probably gets along with them better than he does other humans. Dreads losing them.
Obvi neurodivergent in some way. Probably pan-romantic and a switch. I think he can be arrogant but is genuinely sweet. Total of three braincells but can be very smart and a smart mouth. Very creative and a little odd. I HC him as demisexual tbh. Probably hangs out with the ghouls more as they can probably relate to being seen as odd and unworthy of like common decency since they're 'the help'
As the current head of Ghost and non story perspective? Inspired genius character choice on TF's part. Very much the perfect choice/evolution for the albums he's on.
Free HC: He and Terzo where close. Either a deep platonic friendship/brothers or the only person the other could stand in the clergy aka saltmates.
Overall sweet slightly arrogant well intentioned rat cryptid man trying to make the best out of a triple homicide which benefited him despite him not wanting it. Glamorous but scrungly. Wickedly sharp wit wrapped in awkward wool. Would discuss obscure history over hot cocoa on a couch with you after a scene with a harness hanging off him.
I apologize for the disjointed essay.

chapter three: twisted and tangled heart
previous <- masterlist -> next
Y/N felt a sharp burst of pain shoot through her head. She slowly opened her eyes and attempted to adjust to the dim light flooding the room. She took a moment to take in her surroundings.
She seemed to be in some sort of warehouse. It was dark, smelled gross, and something felt suspiciously wet and squishy underneath her foot. She was too scared to look down.
Her arms were tightly bound behind a wooden chair and her legs were strapped to the chair legs.
“OMFG SOMEBODY HELP,” Y/N whined desperately.
There was a sucking noise from the corner, like someone was slurping through a straw. What the fuck, Y/N thought. Does someone have a smoothie? Are they not gonna share? I’m hella thirsty.
All of a sudden, YN saw a crimson flash from the corner of her eye.
As the shadowy figure made its way into her field of vision she squinted trying to make out her kidnapper.
“WHO TF ARE U” Y/N screamed cutely.
“WHY ARE U DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!! IM JUST AND ORDINARY GIRL I'M NOT EVEN SPECIAL” she reasoned as her golden locks flowed in the mysterious breeze that seemed to follow her around.
From the corner came a sinister giggle. It was hot and manly and super deep. Her kidnapper stepped into the light. He was…
The most gorgeous thing Y/N had ever seen.
“O-omo,,, o-o-oppa?” Y/N breathed breathily as her eyes glazed over and fluttered shut.
Distantly, Y/N felt the cold, hard wood of the chair against her back and the chafing of the ropes on her wrists. The warehouse was getting colder and Y/N’s mysterious glamor breeze certainly wasn’t helping her warm up.
All of a sudden, Y/N’s eyes snapped open. The mysterious hottie was right in front of her!
“OMO!! Don’t scare me like that!” Y/N giggled nervously in fear.
Carmine eyes gazed into Y/N’s soul as the man circled around her chair. There was a dangerous, predatory light in his gaze as he slowly stalked around her, his eyes never leaving her face. The slow and steady sounds of his footsteps echoed through the warehouse as Y/N squeezed her eyes shut. The footsteps came to a stop in front of her. Slowly, she cracked her eyes open.
It was him. The weirdo that she ran over in her pink car.
“...”
“...”
The warehouse was silent as Y/N drank in the man’s handsome visage. She felt his cold eyes flit first to her pink, plush lips and then back to her azure orbs.
All of a sudden, a tumbleweed blew through the warehouse.
Y/N broke the silence. “Hey, um. What the fuck. DID YOU KIDNAP ME?!?!?!” Her cobalt windows into her soul lit up in an unholy, fiery rage that promised death if the man so much as breathed at the wrong time.
The man let out a scoff. Somehow, it was the most attractive scoff that Y/N had ever heard; deep, rich, and utterly mesmerizing. Her eyes rolled back into her head as she shivered from the deep timbre of his voice.
“Oh, darling. Aren’t you adorable?”
Y/N drooled a little bit at the sound of his voice before snapping back to reality and retorting, “OH YEAH? WELL WHEN MY DADDY GETS YOU, YOU’RE GONNA WISH THAT YOU’D NEVER BEEN BORN, BITCH!”
The man raised a single, handsome eyebrow. God, Y/N thought, this guy is like, insufferably handsome. Like, if evil, why hot?
Thinking deeply, Y/N decided to switch strategies. After all, if she was smart about it, she could get out of here AND get whoever the fuck this guy was. He was at least 6K times hotter than all the guys at school.
“W-wait! I’m sorry for being rude to you! Who are you and why am I here,” she asked coquettishly, a fake shy smile playing on her lips. She lowered her eyes to look at the man through her eyelashes, confident that her new strategy would be a better approach. After all, it always worked on her daddies whenever she got into trouble and her brothers, no matter how mad they were at her, they could never bring themselves to actually punish her whenever she gave them that look, like a helpless and trembling baby fawn with teary eyes.
“Oh, babygirl. Isn’t it only polite to introduce yourself before asking for someone else’s name? Mind your manners, darling,” the man smirked as he seated himself on a chair that had somehow materialized out of nowhere. He leaned back, manspreading like only a true alpha male would, and gazed passionately at Y/N.
Y/N inhaled sharply. Oh my god, she thought to herself, this guy is SO hot. Like, I need him. Right now.
“M-my name is Y-Y/N L/N,” Y/N said with a fake stutter, sure that it would make her sound cuter and endear her to her mysterious kidnapper.
“Well, well, well. I guess you’ve earned my name by being so polite,” the man growled. “My name is Sunghoon Park, but you can address me as sir, daddy, or God. After all, once I’m done with you, all you’ll be seeing is stars.”
Y/N’s eyes widened minutely as she rubbed her suddenly quivering thighs together. She felt a tingling sensation down there that she had never felt before. It was strange and unfamiliar, but not unwelcome.
The man, Sunghoon, got up from his chair and strode over to the chair where Y/N was still tied up. His hand reached over her, towards her back. With a single tug, the ropes that bound her fell away. Her heartbeat stuttered and then began back up, faster than before. Her breath caught in her lungs as she gazed, eyes wide open, at Sunghoon, the mysterious man who kidnapped her. Unconsciously, her lips parted as she stared at him.
As her eyes glazed over in anticipation (of what, Y/N wasn’t sure), her newly unbound arms clasped together as she shivered in the suddenly cool air. Her breath came out in pants as something within her called out to that gorgeous man who was still gazing passionately into her eyes. She continued to press her thighs together, feeling jolts of pleasure and tingling every time her muscles clenched. Sunghoon smirked, seeing how much his stare affected her and the little actions that Y/N made. He slowly walked back to admire the view. Y/N closed her eyes and tilted her head back, unable to breathe properly under his gaze.
Almost unconsciously, her lidded eyes dropped to his crotch.
His rapidly growing crotch.
She licked her lips. He’s got to be absolutely HUGE, she thought. C-can I even fit all of that into me?
Seeing where she was looking, Sunghoon smiled hungrily. His eyes trailed down Y/N’s full figure, lush in all the right places, perfect for him to sink his fingers and, ahem, other parts into.
“Oh, darling, you have no idea what you’re doing to me right now,” Sunghoon groaned. His jaw clenched, as he desperately tried to hold himself back.
Y/N’s eyes were wide open as her blood began pumping even more fiercely. She could hear it rushing in her ears as her body began to react to the sound of his voice.
Sunghoon’s hand rested on her shoulder and the two of them stared at each other, like they were the only people in the world. Their gazes were full of passion, heat, and some truly unmentionable emotions (horny).
Just then, Y/N’s last thread of control seemed to snap. She leapt up from her chair and threw her petite frame around Sunghoon, kissing him passionately. As their lips fought for dominance, Y/N felt something warm and slippery press up against her lower lip. She gasped in shock and Sunghoon took the opportunity to slip his tongue into her mouth. Feeling this new sensation, Y/N moaned into the kiss, her eyes closing due to the pleasure.
Y/N felt Sunghoon smirk into their kiss but she didn't care. All of a sudden, as she wrapped her legs around his waist, she felt something hard press up against her lower abdomen, something that seemed to be getting harder and bigger by the second. Instinctively, she grinded down on it and was rewarded by Sunghoon’s low groan of pleasure. Y/N whimpered as she felt something drip down her legs.
“Oh my god,” she moaned as she pulled away from the kiss.
Suddenly, Sunghoon turned around and sat himself on the chair that she had been tied to. His legs spread apart and he let go of her waist in order to slowly start unbuttoning her shirt. Y/N felt a flash of heat at her core and desperately wanted to press her thighs together again, but she couldn’t because of the way that she was straddling Sunghoon.
It was like she blinked and Sunghoon had finished unbuttoning his shirt, leaning forward to rest his head on her chest. He breathed in deeply, taking in her delicate and feminine scent.
“God, babygirl. You smell so good. You don’t know how hard I’m trying to hold myself back right now,” Sunghoon whispered.
“Don’t hold yourself back,” Y/N breathed. “I want it. I want you.”
Sunghoon groaned, eyes closed tightly. “You sure, darling? Once this happens, we can’t undo it.”
“I’m sure,” whispered Y/N. “I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.”

Here’s a series of small drawings I did for that Mundane horror AU. again.
At different locations and looks they have. How do I explain this without it being too long?
Well first of I should state a few things more about the au; first of as mentioned last time, the powers and dread domains are known about by the public at large, and have been known about for millennium. But I don’t know if I have mentioned that the dread powers are not the only powers floating around making domains, there’s two others getting into peoples business. More on them some other time perhaps. Domains are sort of a thing. And people are affected by powers all the time. But most of the time it goes away after a while. In the meantime there’s people like Michel here where that’s not the case. Most of the time people like Michel Shelly or Nicola, are able to use “glamor or the haze” to obscure what thier true appearances are for most people. Though there are people who are able to sense the precence of them or in even rarer cases you get twats like Gerry Keay and Jonathan Sims, who can just see straight through these glamor. Also mirrors. Mirrors and many reflective surfaces will betray a persons true form.
That being said a person can also drop thier glamor, when they want too. Sometimes it slips up as it is something that is rather exhausting to keep up all the time. Other times something is too overwhelming too keep it up. Such as being near something with the source of your own power. Or when forced out of it by the presence of something else.
Glamor is of course only something that the people who are still in some semblance of their sense have. There is the other side of the dangerous game that is these domains that is “being taken” a firce balancing act when trying to be stronger with these very fickle situations. Try and amass too much all at once and the power will eat you and turn you into a monster, something that is just an extension of the power but has little to no remnants of what you had been. Eaten by it leaving only a Mabey you shaped skeleton that goes on trying to eat others until it falls away to nothing or becomes destroyed. Do too little with these powers and they fade away until they are no longer of use. Like they where ever there at all. Both prosess leave behind scars of sorts.
Some are invisible and unnoticeable even by those who bear it. Others are have large ones proclaiming they survived being eaten. These range in severity much like how healing and not healing ranges.
For those who have become tied up in large parts with the powers and not been taken by them, they will often find themselves beginning to change physically as they grow stronger. It’s a bit like going through a second puberty so in other words it sucks. Sometimes this change can be quick or slow, it can be gradual or extreme. Some of these features become things that can not be hidden.
For example, even when in his most human of human forms that Michel Shelly is able to take on, there are a few things he can not get rid of. Michel always has sharp teeth and his eyes change colors ever since he became a distortion. All the other things they can hide when not seen in a mirror, the wild hair, the bright neon like colors, the too sharp hands with too many joints. He can hide all of it. Many features have overlap with each-other, like sharp teeth are a trait that can appear in the hunt, the slaughter, the spiral and even the web so trying to determine a person’s alignment by physical features is a bit dubious and also rather rude (people still do it anyways)
There are devices built to help a person become more powerful but not suffer from any of the adverse consequences of this. Invented some time around the Second World War but not common until the 1960s. They where made to allow people with only some connection to a power to temporarily boost thier ability without having to worry about all that icky stuff about your body changing.
Charms for empowering and for warding off these powers have been around for centuries. In the form of things like lucky charms, evil warding symbols (evil eyes, dream catchers, gargoyles, talisman etc) and stuff like that. With the different cultures having had different methods to keep this dangerous power at bay.
The powers are Ill understood by society and science, in part because thier very nature is in defiance of understanding.
Anyways so much for this being short. In the picture Michel looks rather human still. Notably they are able to take on even more monster like forms. In fact in the same way glamour works to make someone appear more human there is also a way to make yourself more “monstrous” too. This is in some ways how werewolves and the like work. Though unless someone or something is very proficient or well practiced it this. Shapeshifting is one of the fastest ways to push yourself from being in control to become a “beast”.
This will also depend on your alignment(s). Shapeshifting is a lot easier for something of the stranger, spiral or hunt than what it would be for someone of the beholding, lonely or the web.

Our Little Secret Sessions- Nate Jacobs x Reader (2)
Pairing(s): Nate Jacobs x Reader
Warning(s): SMUT, language, toxic relationships, older reader, NON-CON
Summary: After landing a job as the high school’s new counselor you settle into your new home, unaware of what danger lurks just outside your front door. In Part Two, you meet another one of your students, only to be interrupted by the boy next door.
Part 1
A couple of weeks had passed since your encounter with Nate, but the fear of what the teenage was capable of remained fresh in your mind. You could never forget the dominant, controlling look in his eyes when he had threatened you in your office. Since then, you had been unable to sleep properly and you found yourself constantly looking over your shoulder. On the bright side, you had not encountered him face-to-face since that day, but his presence could always be felt never too far away. He was like some sort of predator, a beast lurking in a dense jungle. Eyes sharp and ready to go in for the kill at any moment.
‘’Um miss?’’ a voice broke you out of your thoughts.
You quickly snapped your head up, sitting straight up in your office chair as a young girl stood in the doorway. She was average height for her age, dark hair, glamorous makeup, and full lips. You had seen her walking down the hall a few times, an air of confidence always surrounding her. She reminded you of the girls you hated when you were in high school.
‘’I’m so sorry, please come in,’’ you extended your hand, gesturing to one of the empty chairs or the couch in front of your desk. She nodded, shutting the door behind her as she made herself comfortable.
‘’I’m sorry, I’m still getting used to everything here. I’m Miss y/l/n,’’ you held out your hand for her to shake. She looked down at it before slowly returning the gesture. Whether she just wasn’t used to people being polite to her or she just didn’t like you, you weren’t sure.
‘’Maddy,’’ she replied, her expression unreadable.
‘’Well how can I help you Maddy?’’ you offered a kind smile despite her semi-cold attitude.
Her eyes flickered, searching for the right words to express her thoughts. Your brow furrowed as she visibly struggled.
‘’This is a safe place Maddy, whatever you tell me stays between us,’’ you encouraged.
She bit down on her lip, hands twisting and fumbling in her lap as her leg bounced. Finally, she met your concerned gaze with a sigh.
‘’Do you think sexuality is a spectrum?’’ she blurted out.
The question took you back, it taking everything in your for your mouth to stay shut.
‘’Well, in my opinion it certainly can be. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a one-size-fits-all or black and white approach to it. But I really think it depends on you and your preferences-‘’
‘’N-no. Not me,’’ she cut you off, still seemingly nervous. You arched a brow, trying to decipher what she was talking about.
‘’Is everything ok, Maddy?’’
‘’Look there’s this. . .guy who I’m seeing. And I found-‘’
Knocking on your door made the two of you jump. A lump formed in your throat when the handle twisted and the door opened, revealing none other than Nate fucking Jacobs.
You quickly cast a glance at Maddy who, for some reason or another, looked almost as petrified as you felt.
‘’Oh sorry Miss y/l/n, I didn’t know you were busy,’’ Nate practically hissed out the last word as his gaze fell upon Maddy.
‘’Mister Jacobs, I’m with Maddy right now. If you’d like we can schedule a meeting-‘’
‘’No! No, it’s ok, miss. I’ll be late for class anyway,’’ Maddy scrambled to collect her bag and rush out the door.
‘’I can write you a hallpass,’’ your words jumbled, practically pleading with the girl to stay so that you were not left alone with this sociopath. The smirk on Nate’s face made your blood run cold.
Maddy murmured a quick ‘’bye’’ before the door shut closed behind Nate’s lanky figure. He scoffed, steadily turning his attention back to you as you shakily stood.
‘’You can’t just show up like that. I have a job to do and anyone could-‘’
‘’Take your pants off,’’ he abruptly interrupted you.
A pitiful squeak, similar to that of a puny mouse cornered in a snake pit, escaped your lips as the air left your lungs.
‘’What?’’ you felt your heart began to beat faster as Nate took a step towards you after locking your door, sealing your fate.
‘’I said, take your pants off. And bend over your desk,’’ his deep voice shook you to your core.
‘’Nate, please,’’ you whispered, trying to sum up as much courage and dominance as you could as you stood straight and met his terrifying gaze.
He didn’t respond as his hands descended on you. One locked itself onto the back of your neck and played with your hair as the other began to roughly grope your breasts through your flimsy shirt. His mouth pressed rough, hearted kissed onto the column of your neck as his breath fanned hot flames onto your soft skin. You felt paralyzed as his grip tightened, you having to bite your lips from crying out.
You jumped when his large hand made its’ way underneath your shirt and the material of your bra. He easily captured a nipple between his index and middle finger and began to pinch and squeeze and tug on the sensitive bud, expertly rolling it however way he sought fit.
‘’L-leave,’’ you whispered. Half of you was praying and the other was making a rather pathetic attempt to reestablish authority over him.
‘’If I walk out that door, everyone will know how you slept with a student,’’ he threatened, biting at the soft juncture between your neck and shoulder, making you hiss in pain.
‘’I didn’t know!’’ you whimpered, cursing the way your body reacted to both his touch and his voice.
Your nipples were overstimulated at this point, any rubbing against your bra or touch from Nate’s fingers had you mewling like a helpless kitten. Your knees locked together as you felt the heat expand downward from your arousal.
‘’The sooner you give in, the sooner I leave. The less chance you have of someone catching us,’’ he groaned, grinding his thickness into your lower abdomen so you felt what was awaiting you.
You let out a shaky breath, nodding slowly as you nervously fumbled with your jeans. Nate all but growled when he saw the delicate lace material that hid your womanhood. His breathing labored and his cock twitched. Since he had last had you he had messed around with Maddy a few times, trying to placate his urges, trying to forget about his attractive new neighbor and school counselor. But something about you, the way you were allured him to you. He found himself craving you, imagining your cries and moans as he thrusted wildly into Maddy. He found himself becoming rougher at the thought of having you once again, all to himself. His little taboo. Today, he found he couldn’t wait any longer and found himself at your office door, ready to continue your secret little sessions.
By the time your jeans had pooled around your ankles and your underwear shortly followed, your boots providing you with a little more height than usual, Nate grew tired of waiting. He shoved your paperwork, cleverly unhooking your phone in case anyone called, and shoved you down by your neck so that your body was painfully bent over the unforgiving surface.
Your cheek pressed against the wood of the desk, your eyes searching for anything to focus on as you tried to block out the jingling of his belt and the sound of his zipper being pulled down. You felt the heat of his cock at your entrance as Nate folded himself onto you, his breath hitting your cheek and neck as his toned abs gently grazed your spine and ass.
‘’Be quiet,’’ he warned, one massive hand wrapping around your face to cover your mouth. You winced as he spit down onto your spread pussy, using his thumb as makeshift lubricate. He hummed in approval at the feel of your arousal and you didn’t need to face him to know he had a chesire cat grin on his pale face. You could feel him retreat his hips before he lunged forward and sheathed his massive dick into your tight canal. You screamed against his hand, although it was practically just muffled mewls given his tight grip as he began rotating his hips, stretching your tightness to welcome whatever he was about to give you.
‘’Shhhh, good girl, look at you taking it like a champ,’’ he mocked as he reluctantly pulled out, only to violently snap forward, your body lunging with his brutal movements.
Tears pricked the corners of your eyes, but you were ashamed to admit they were in pleasure. The feeling of complete fulness outweighed the pain, but you made a pitiful attempt to reach behind you and shove him back. You yelped as his other hand locked your wrists and pinned them to the small of your back, your body helpless and completely on display as Nate continued his brutal pace. He felt every quiver, every squeeze that your sweet pussy gave him. He nearly came within the first few minutes of being inside of you, but he managed to hold off. The way you squealed under him, your smaller body rocking in tune with his thrusts, and the way your tight pink pussy latched onto him to the point he dragged your body back as he pulled out was nothing that he had ever had before. He pressed more of his weight into you, trying to keep his own grunts and moans quiet as he gripped your face and wrists.
‘’So good,’’ he kept repeating in your neck as he hammered into you. The wet noises and sound of his hips violently meeting your backside filled you with fear that someone would come in and catch you. Your squealing and cries slowly transformed into needy moans and whimpers, you faintly acknowledged your juices beginning to drip down your inner thighs and you felt your insides begin to coil.
‘’N-Nate,’’ you breathlessly cried against his palm, attempting to suck in as much air through your nose as you could. He bite down on your shoulder, tongue lapping at the faint angry marks, groaning as his pace did not let out. He was impossibly thick and girthy, filling you and hitting your cervix with every ram of his hips. Your hands twitched and knees buckled as his cock began throbbing along your velvet walls. You couldn’t help but squeeze him as your own climax began to form, causing him to hiss against your shoulder.
‘’Gonna fill you up, oh fuck,’’ you faintly deciphered him growling out as you were forced to take his thrusts.
Your clit throbbed almost painfully, knuckles turning lighter as your fists clenched against your back. He abruptly released your wrists, opting to clutch the curve of your hip as he forced your body back to meet his awaiting thrusts, making you cry out every time he angrily entered you. As you cried out with each thrust, he groaned, feeling your release incredibly close. He angled his hips slightly higher and dove in, grinning as he heard your moans, your pussy locking onto his dick as your orgasm coated him. He slowed his pace just to watch the way he glistened from your juices, enjoying the sinful squelching noises you both produced as he shoved himself repeatedly into you, before regaining his violent momentum.
His grip on you tightened impossibly as you lay limp underneath him, lost in the waves of your release. All you felt was your body being forced back and forth as Nate impaled you onto his angry member. You swore you saw actual stars bouncing around your vision before you were forced back down into reality as he removed his hand from your mouth (finally) and gripped your throat. Through his animalistic movements he angled your face back to meet his in a bruising, possessive kiss as he ensured every inch of him was buried to the hilt inside of you as he shuddered. You groaned as the warmth of his cum filled your abused pussy. He moved against you one last time before slowly pulling you out and stuffing himself back into his jeans and zipping it back up. You winced when you felt a finger trace your lower lips and shove some of his load back into your sore pussy.
‘’Get dressed,’ his voice conveyed his relaxation and his gaze was surprising soft as he helped you stand up.
You didn’t speak as you redressed, your face still flushed with a postcoital glow. He tucked some of your hair out of your face as his eyes searched yours, his thoughts unreadable. But just as his expression lingered on borderline affection, that cruel teenage-boy smirk reappeared as his hand thumbed the base of your neck in a warning grip.
‘’I’m going to need that hall pass.’’

outward appearance means nothing if your are unable to carry yourself with grace and confidence. it’s important to radiate an aura that is unique to u and is beautiful and enchanting to others. find your essence. are u an ethereal innocent angel or a bombshell femme fatale? Just by channeling in a sort of character in your demeanour can drastically change how other people view you. you might be wondering “hey this is a bit much just for school,” and ur right but it’s all fun at the end of the day

𝔣𝔢𝔪𝔪𝔢 𝔣𝔞𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔢:
femme fatale: noun
an attractive and seductive woman, especially one who is likely to cause distress or disaster to a man who becomes involved with her.
"a femme fatale who plays one man off against another in pursuit of money"
a femme fatale is a women who shows power through how well she can toy with a mans brain. in hindsight she might seem like a women catered to the male gaze due to the strong enchantment she has upon men, but do not be fooled. a femme fatale is a strong willed and powerful women who only caters to her own needs. she achieves her goals by seducing her pawns to use them to her own advantage. channeling in the characteristics of a femme fatale can make one feel powerful, sexy, and oh so alluring. to become a femme fatale you must ooze with seduction. femme fatale examples include gilda, from the movie “gilda”, jane smith from “mr. and mrs. smith, and amy dunne from “gone girl”.
feel powerful when you walk from one place to another. let other people stare at you while they feel intrigued by ur allure but never completely give them what they want.
make your appearance look bold and striking. be sexy. dress to show off what other people want for themselves. wear dark and luxurious colours. let your hair be free and voluptuous. a bold lip and sharp eye makeup brings attention to the most seductive parts of your face. a femme fatale is nothing without a striking appearance
have your voice sound like smooth whiskey. speak slow to captivate others. make sure your voice comes out prominent and clear. add a slight rasp into your voice. each word u speak should be carefully chosen. people should be addicted to hearing you speak. be sassy and smart but always with class.
smell expensive. pick a scent that exudes class. examples: black orchid by tom ford. mugler alien. good girl by carolina herrera.
a femme fatale makes sure to always get her way. don’t be afraid to use ur seductive quality’s to get what u want whether that is good grades or social status. [ however do not put urself in dangerous positions. please don’t sleep with a teacher lmao ]
𝔠𝔬𝔮𝔲𝔢𝔱𝔱𝔢
coquette: noun
a woman who flirts.
in my own definition a coquette to me is a girl who is delicate and radiates innocence. she is more commonly known as the girl next door or the pretty girl. people become attracted to this essence due to the childish ways of a coquette. though that sounds concerning, a coquette isn’t a women who tries to act like a child on purpose. she is just a women who is naturally sweet and innocent. they hold onto a childlike quality that the rest of us have lost and so desperately crave. the allure of the coquette is ultimately her adorableness. her demeanour is light hearted and youthful. no one feels the need to do her wrong because she is just too cute for any harm. she is an ingenue. examples of coquettes are lizzy grant, cat valentine from “victorious”, alice cullen from “twilight”, and marilyn monroe.
wear clothes that make u look cute. the coquette aesthetic has been around for quite a while. the main aspect of a coquette outfit is its innocently teasing nature. wear bright colours that compliment ur skin like a blush pink, bright reds, and pretty lilacs. make people around u appreciate ur innocent look but know that there imagination is running wild. the makeup for these looks are more natural and rely on the condition of ur actual skin. take good care of ur skin. have a set routine but remember that it’s completely okay if u have pimples! you can still be a pretty little coquette even with acne.
vanilla or any kind of sweet scents are a staple for the coquette essence. ariana grandes perfumes are perfect for making people mouths water for a sweet snack when u walk by. olympea by paco rabanne is my personal favourite.
be kind and sweet to people who deserve it. people need to see u as a sweet and innocent doll who can do no wrong. but don’t be afraid to be risky and be the complete opposite of that once in a while. the rare moments where u show ur femme fatale side will have people incredibly intrigued by you.
perfect your voice. your voice should sound pleasant like some sort of princess. make your voice sound higher but not ear screeching high. add a beautiful mix of air and softness to ur voice. a breathy voice is incredibly intoxicating and suits the coquette.

pêle-mêle: adverb
in a confused, rushed, or disorderly manner.
also known as the manic pixie dream girl, a pêle-mêle is the essence of a girl who is described as whimsical, eccentric and is quite literal the life of the party. though at first glance she’s all rainbows and sun shine, the shadow side of the pêle-mêle can be described as a tortured artist. her optimism is delightful. she is not afraid to take risks. she’s a mess but people can not help to be intrigued by her free spirited ways for she is a drug to people who crave adventure. examples of a pêle-mêle include ramona flowers from scott pilgrim vs the world, mia wallace from pulp fiction, harley quinn from the DC comics, and holly golighty from breakfast at tiffany’s.
don’t be afraid to take risks. risks and adventure is what the pêle-mêle lives off of. be brave. do things you are afraid to do. start small and work your way up like from riding that roller coaster your so afraid of to having a motorcycle race with your friends (trust me those are so fun!). show people just how daring you can be and immediately people will be magnetized to you.
wear clothes that are unique and you feel comfortable with. the pêle-mêle rejects conformity and the way you appear should reflect that. wear clothes that harmonize with your crazy personality. be daring and bold with your makeup. make sure you stand out from the crowd and that you do not care what people think. the alternative style perfectly suits someone who embodies this essence.
be confident. obviously this rule applies to all the essences but confidence and self love is at the core of the pêle-mêle. you need to show people that you do not care what they think of you and that at the end of the day, you are just here for a good time. the more you practice self love, the easier it will be for you to express yourself without the fear of judgement from others.
be a socialite. don’t be afraid to speak your mind to people. pêle-mêle’s are usually people persons. they love good company that they can go on adventures with. make friends by being your true self and don’t hold yourself back. even a few mishaps by saying the wrong thing from time to time can make people fall in love with your clumsy nature.
obviously there are plenty of other essences you can achieve for yourself but these are my top three favourites. to find out who exactly who you want to become try the few tips listed below!
how to find your personal essence
what kind of people captivate you? what type of personalities do you see that you wish you could be? do you find yourself being envious of the pretty girl next door, the man eater, or the mysterious persona? figure out what kind of a person do u wish to truly become and inherit their manner. find out the characteristic of ur desired essence to the littlest of detail. this can include from the way you walk, talk, eat, sleep, look, smell ext. think of this as becoming your ideal best self. take the female archetype quiz to get a better understanding of your self.
what kind of aesthetic catches your eye? do you enjoy the glamorous high fashion life or do you like the softer cherry coke and heart shaped sunglasses niche? maybe you enjoy completely different things or a blend of a few. live up to this aesthetic. do this by expressing this aesthetic in the way you dress to how u decorate your room.
what kind of environment do you feel the most comfortable in? are you someone who loves education and school? or do you love the idea of being free and living in an RV for the rest of your life? maybe you just want to live in a cozy high rise new york apartment or a huge mansion up in beverly hills. envision where you see your ideal self in 10-20 years. your ideal environment can reveal a lot about what kind of lifestyle choices you want to make.
you might be thinking to yourself hey these aren’t the best tips for school. and at an educational standpoint you’re right. but it’s important to embody your best ideal self to truly enjoy this lifetime. these are little things that can be used to motivate you. i believe that inner self work should be prioritized over your school work though both are important. make sure you are taking some time out of your week to find out more about yourself and who you want to become. be the best you.

caught in a twin courtship
note from kin: i’m going to be honest i only really wrote this because the title is fun to say, so it isn’t as cohesive as i normally would have wanted to make it
(this is an au where the twins aren’t separated by the unknown god! instead, just their world-hopping powers were stolen, and that’s why they’re journeying to find said god - to get their powers back so that they can go home. i’ve also excluded paimon since i kind of forgot about her while writing this haha)
(this doesn’t follow canon at all since reader and the twins just kind of start wandering about after the dvalin incident rather than heading straight for liyue oops)
fandom: genshin impact
character(s): gn!reader, lumine, aether, diluc, venti, jean
pairing(s): aether/reader/lumine
warning(s): i don’t think so??
genre: fluff with a little bit sprinkling of angst
you first meet the twins in the aftermath of the stormterror battle. it isn’t a glamorous introduction by any means - it’s pretty unflattering, actually - but it definitely makes a powerful first impression.
the group - aether, lumine, venti, diluc, and jean - are on their way back to mondstadt city, making small talk here and there, but mostly just walking in silence.
then they hear a yell in the distance.
jean and lumine both drop into a battle stances, venti leaps to hide behind aether with a very unmanly squeak of fear… but diluc, who arguably should have been the most alerted by this occurrence, just gives a resigned sigh and pauses.
a split second later, a figure comes speeding up to the group. you barrel up to diluc and immediately punch him square in the stomach, yelling “why didn’t you tell me you were going after stormterror?!”
aether and venti both give matching gasps of horror at the blatant disrespect, but diluc only shakes his head and catches your fist as it goes for another blow, this one aimed at his chest, and chastises, “calm down, i left a note.”
“i left a note,” you mimic, an absolutely awful impression that has you sounding more like a mosquito than the darknight hero, “fat lot of use that is when you aren’t even telling me where you’re going!”
diluc evades another jab at his arm and firmly sets his hands on both your shoulders, effectively anchoring you to the ground. you contemplate swinging your feet at his knees and knocking him over, or maybe shocking him with your electro vision, but ultimately decide that you might as well try to preserve what little dignity you have left in front of those three people you’ve never met before
so you stop with a defeated sigh and turn to face said three people to introduce yourself
it turns out that you’re diluc’s cousin and he’s been having to baby-sit you for the last few years after your own parents left on a ‘business trip’ to snezhnaya that they’re still not back from
you’re pretty sure they’re dead, killed by the fatui, and you say as much during your introduction without even the slightest sign of distress, which is a little unsettling
lumine’s first thought is that you’re quite the interesting character, what with the casual way you treat diluc, and how you don’t seem to question whatever situation lead you to meet in the first place
aether’s first thought is holy shit, they’re cute
one twin greets you in return with a lot more enthusiasm than the other, and venti the bard wastes no time in asking whether you have access to good master diluc’s wine storage
(you’d be shocked by the audacity if you weren’t just as bad as him when it came to shamelessness)
strangely enough, the fact that aether likes you so much actually makes lumine more wary of you than she was initially
aether trusts too easily, and from experience, that usually leads to disaster - and your flippancy regarding your parents’ apparent probable deaths rather inclines her to think that you might be a very dangerous person indeed
the three of you don’t see each other for a couple of days after that - you and diluc leave for dawn winery together, while the twins depart with venti to wrap their whole situation up, and jean returns to her duties in mondstadt city
all this time, apparently unbeknownst to even himself, aether keeps finding ways to bring you up in the middle of conversation
you’d only spoken to him for a few minutes and somehow that as enough to get him absolutely fascinated
lumine would be lying if she said she wasn’t still curious about you as well, but it gets annoying after aether somehow manages to mention how ‘mysterious’ your black cloak is in the middle of a conversation about why mitachurls are able to randomly set their axes on fire
luckily for these two, they happen to run into you the very next day!
you’re in the middle of taking out a ruin guard stomping around the thousand winds temple - a ruin guard that the twins had been meaning to take down themselves, which is why they’re here in the first place
at first they move to help you, only to stop short and watch in awe as you plunge down at the ruin guard from atop one of the enormous pillars, your polearm held steady in your grasp as your entire body seems to spark and glow with a deep purple electro energy
the sharp blade of your polearm goes clean through the top of the ruin guard’s head and shatters its core, and it sinks to the ground with a massive thud that echoes around the temple ruins, massive wooden limbs twitching and jerking as the last of your vision’s energy disperses from it
aether and lumine are basically star-struck
from there you spot them and call them over for a conversation, show them how to take apart a ruin guard’s circuits to get at the good parts, and somehow end up agreeing to journey with them across teyvat in their search for an unknown god who stole their abilities to hop from world to world as well as their apparent true power that allows them to wield all seven elements at once
the details are a little lost on you, but what you’re hearing is that you get to go on a cool adventure with a cool gal and a cool lad, so you’re pretty much all for it
diluc isn’t too happy about you up and leaving without so much as two week’s notice (partially because he has literally no friends apart from you and he’d get lonely without his little cousin bothering him all the time) but you simply tell him to deal with it and go anyway
(you do give him a big hug and promise to visit, you’re not heartless)
from then on you, aether and lumine become a dynamic trio like no other
it’s actually pretty damn spooky how well the three of you end of working together
aether and lumine had long since formed a style of fighting that meant they made up for each other’s weak spots and could attack in perfect sync, but then you come along and somehow manage to make their already pretty flawless formation even better
is it witchcraft? they honestly don’t know
considering you fit so well into their battle strategies, it follows that you’d also slot perfectly into their every day life
lumine is cautious at first, wondering if your presence would disrupt her and her brother’s long since pre-established routines, but you fit in so naturally that it’s as if you were there all long
maybe it it’s this that makes both twins slowly start falling for you - the comfort of being beside you and the familiarity that you bring are things that they struggled to find, being trapped in a world far from their own with no way to get out, and they unknowingly latch onto you like drowning men clutching lifebuoys
aether is the most obvious about his feelings - he starts waking up earlier just because he knows you do, sitting beside you as you stoke a campfire and keep watch for any approaching monsters, making quiet conversation as lumine continues sleeping. he tells you stories about his adventures in other worlds, including an encounter with a rather bigoted individual who is the reason that he keeps his hair so long while lumine’s has been cut short
he even starts taking his hair out of its braid before he goes to sleep so that he can ask you to braid it for him when he wakes up
lumine is a lot more subtle
she finds excuses to stand closer to you when, deliberately brushing her fingers against yours when handing you something. she listens far more attentively to you when you speak than anyone else, and she smiles far more in your presence, hanging onto your every word and gazing at you so intensely that it’s almost unsettling
of course, the twins notice each other’s feelings pretty easily
at first neither acknowledges it - it’d be far too messy for both to accept that they’d both fallen in love with the same person, let alone actually admit this to each other
but it gets to the point where it just isn’t ignorable anymore, and finally the twins decide to talk
it’s about as civil and sensible as they could hope for with the subject at hand, and they eventually decide to talk to you about it
and so, we come to an ultimatum. what will your choice be?
if you reject both, it’ll be hard to continue adventuring with twins who can’t look in your direction. neither resent you, of course, but the atmosphere has become so stifling that they can’t even make eye contact
it’s as if an enormous gap has opened up between the three of you. the twins are avoiding each other as well, unsure of how to handle the fact that they’re both in love with the same person and have now both been rejected by that same person. if anything, they should be becoming closer out of solidarity, but it seems that they can’t stand to be in each other’s presence as much as they can’t stand to be in yours.
the three of you still work together as seamlessly in battle as you did before, but once the final monster has been cut down and your weapons are sheathed, that connection seems to disappear again.
it’s aether who finally breaks the stalemate. he starts trying to start conversations as the three of you sit awkwardly apart from each other around a fire, and while the first few attempts end in stony silence and an awkward cough on his part, eventually you begin replying with some semblance of the humour you used to
from there things only improve - the three of you come to a silent mutual agreement to leave this behind you, and soon you’re all laughing and joking as you used to
lumine and aether both know that they cannot force you to love either of them, and they respect your choice. if anything, they’re the ones in the wrong for springing something like this on you so suddenly, and they start to feel a little guilty that they were essentially pressuring you into making a choice that you were never obligated to make
so they return to treating you as a dear friend, just as before. things are different now, of course, but they can only be grateful that you continue to travel with them and stay by their side; this situation doesn’t make them love you any less, even if you don’t love them in the same way.
if you choose lumine, aether will be understanding. the twins have been each other’s only support for longer than they can remember, and as the older brother, he’s well used to giving things up for his sister.
he’ll still be friendly and amicable, but he won’t seek you out as much as he did before. he starts braiding his hair by himself again, and stays in bed as late as he can every morning so that he doesn’t have to be face to face with you. just because he’s accepted this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt.
sometimes, when the sky grows dark and you and lumine have long since fallen asleep beside each other, he wonders to himself - why is it that he has to give everything to his sister? he’s given away so much, so why couldn’t the universe let him have this one thing?
but he knows, deep down, that this is nothing to do with the universe - you simply fell in love with someone that wasn’t him, his sister at that, and he’s struggling to come to terms with it.
he wants to hate you, hate lumine, hate the relationship that the two of you have formed, but he just can’t. he loves the both of you in different ways that are just as important as each other, and he can’t stand to lose either of you. he’d rather throw himself off of starsnatch cliff.
so he’ll smile and bear it, even if it’s a battle to keep himself from breaking down every time he sees the two of you lace your hands together, off in your own little word, so near and yet so far from him.
if you choose aether, lumine will become cold. at first, that is. she’s never been as empathetic as her brother, always holding grudges and developing dislike much more easily. it had taken a lot for her to open up to you in the first place, and now that you’ve rejected her, it’s going to take a while for her to return to the same camaderie with you that she had before.
lumine does not begrudge aether for being the one you chose. if anything, she’s glad - aether is always putting her first and himself second, and she’s happy that he has someone like you, who lights his eyes up in a way that she’s never seen before.
but our hearts often betray our mind, after all, and lumine can’t help but scowl and turn away every time she sees her brother wrap his arms around your waist or press a kiss to your cheek. despite her best efforts, all she can think is why? why did you have to choose him?
she can’t bring herself to hate you, though. as much as it feels like her heart is threatening to split down the middle when she sees you smile and is reminded of something that she cannot have, there is an equal joy in the fact that her brother can be with the person that he loves so dearly. if anything, the two of you deserve to be happy together.
lumine would never do anything that could take that away, and so she forces herself to accept it. it takes several days of tentative conversation and barely held back tears, but eventually the two of you seem to return to the way you were before - all friendly jabs and light-hearted banter and little jokes exchanged over crossed blades.
but lumine knows that your friendship can never be quite the same as it was before. she’ll forever be holding you at arm’s length, terrified to let you get too close lest you see how much your presence affects her. she can’t let you know how much she loves you because she will never be the one who links hands with you as you walk down a long, winding path, or the one who holds you close under a darkening sky filled with stars - because that person is aether, and she would sooner die before she takes her brother’s happiness away.
if you refuse to choose, the twins will be at a loss at what to do. they hadn’t considered this scenario - that you had somehow come to love both of them.
the confusion becomes joy soon enough, though. they realise what this means - they both love you, and you love both of them! isn’t this perfect?
neither are particularly thrilled at the concept of ‘sharing’ you with the other, so to speak, but in the end they both equally want each other to be happy as they want you to be, so the logical conclusion is that they both become your partners.
they’re not too sure how this should work, nor what sort of label to put on it, but they come to you tentatively with the idea anyway
to their joyous surprise, you agree!
and from then marks the point of no return…
aether is definitely the clingier of the two. once he realises that he’s allowed to show affection and be close to you for no particular reason, he won’t stop - it’s as if he absolutely has to be holding your hand or be standing or sitting as close to you as physically possible. he’s always buying you souvenirs at every place you stop by, scaling trees to pick apples for you when you mention a craving for fruit, presenting you little treasures that he’s found with all the pride of a golden retriever.
lumine is a more subdued kind of partner, preferring to demonstrate her feelings with little things like making your favourite food for dinner or bringing you sprigs of flowers that she’s secretly been collecting in order to present you with them. of course, that doesn’t mean she isn’t physically affectionate at all - she presses perhaps even closer to you than aether when you sleep beside her, and somehow her hand finds yours at every opportunity she has.
the twins clash every now and then, as siblings often do, except that you’re usually caught in the middle. their arguments are little more than playful squabbles, though - things like play-fighting over who gets to hug you first after a well-fought battle, or who gets to hold your hand on the way to the next village (you have to step in and remind them that you do, in fact, have two hands)
in conclusion: why choose one when you can have both and prevent the unchosen from having endless amounts of angst?

Misunderstandings
I HAVE FINALL MADE CONTENT FOR MY SPIDER MONKIE AU! And SURPRISE, it’s angst!
Despite his best efforts, MK knew that he was a terrifying image to humans when he dropped his glamor. He loomed over most people due to his size, lower body plated with a dark exoskeleton with long legs which were sharp enough to impale someone without much effort. MK had tried to make it look less intimidating by painting bright little doodles all over his lower body. Soft and precise strokes decorated his exoskeleton with a couple of noticeably lower quality, lines shaky and uneven as if done by a beginner. Yet they were the ones he treasured the most. Particularly the large purple and orange hourglass symbol dead center on his spider abdomen.
"Am I doing this right sweetie?" She asked, long black hair pinned back to keep it clean yet it was still stained with streaks of paint. The same can be said for her worn robe, the faded fabrics speckled with rainbow flecks of paint. Her lips were pursed in concentration as the paintbrush shook in her hands.
It was certainly an image of the feared Spider Queen that few had the luxury of seeing and living to remember it, MK being one of them.
"Yeah mom, you're doing great. Try focusing on where you want the brush to go instead, it'll help smooth out your strokes," he suggested, having to contort a slight bit to see what she was doing. She followed his advice and happily finished the symbol.
"There! Now everyone will know to fear my little spiderling the moment they lay their eyes on him," Spider Queen cooed, putting the paintbrush away to pat MK on the head, accidentally staining his dark hair with the purple and orange paint which had gotten on her hands.
MK held a brief smile at the memory before letting out a sigh.
Unfortunately, bright colors and cutesy symbols could only do so much against the large collective fear of demons, especially big ones with fangs and multiple legs. Which he was unfortunate enough to find out when fighting a demon who's whole speciality was glamor magic and could see right through him.
"That must be uncomfortable, squeezing yourself into such a small form. How about I give you a chance to stretch your legs for a while?" The demon said mockingly and before MK knew it, he was enveloped in a cloud of shimmering dust. Suddenly, everything was a lot smaller to him and MK was left to clumsily stumble as his two legs became eight without warning. He squinted as the world was now a lot brighter through his four eyes, colors even more vivid than before to the point it nearly gave him a headache.
Yet it all only registered to MK when he heard people start screaming about a giant spider demon.
“Oh no…” He whispered to himself, wincing as his vision cleared only to see civilians running away from him. And while he understood why, it still felt like a stab to his heart to see people terrified of him. The hurt quickly became panic once he hit what felt like a blockade to his magic, preventing him from re-activating his glamor.
MK was stuck like this for the time being.
“This can’t get any worse,” he hissed, freely skittering through the now empty streets now that he wasn’t at risk of accidentally stepping on someone. He was instantly proven wrong when he heard the twin sound of motors headed right him and MK had to dodge quickly to avoid getting hit by Mei’s bike head on and from Pigsy’s truck from crashing into one of his legs.
It just got worse.
"Alright demon, might be best to give up now-!" Mei froze mid-boast, face going pale underneath her helmet. She was soon joined by Pigsy, Sandy, and Tang who looked at what had her so shaken and their own confusion quickly transformed into their own individual shows of shock. Pigsy looked genuinely sick, Tang didn’t seem to be breathing with wide eyes behind his glasses, and Sandy’s entire being seemed to bristle as if to make himself look even bigger out of self-defense.
It dawned on MK once he saw they were all staring at the staff still clenched in his clawed hand.
That he was still holding while in his true form. Which wouldn’t look out of place as part of the Spider Queen’s forces, skin now covered in purple fur and eyes a dizzying bright green. And was still wearing his easily recognizable orange and purple jacket and headband now draped around his neck from the chaos.
MK now realizes that this did not paint a good picture in his favor.
“I… can explain,” he stuttered, wincing at the sound of his own voice: hoarse and deeper to his own ears.
He had no way of explaining this.
“What did you do to my boy?” Pigsy was the first to break the silence, eerily calm yet everyone could tell that his rake was close to snapping with how tight his grip was. Following behind him, everyone else’s shock and horror morphed into rage and MK felt his stomach tighten further and further in fear. Tang’s eyes were hidden behind the glare of his glasses with a stillness to him that made you fear he would strike at any moment before you could react. Sandy’s entire demeanor had changed in a way that made MK understand Pigsy’s past descriptions as him being a feared warrior.
And Mei?
Well Mei’s entire being was wreathed in green and vibrating with barely restrained wrath.
MK stumbled back on his eight legs, feeling incredibly small in the face of his family’s anger despite towering over them.
They didn’t know it was him. As far as they knew, he was just another demon.
He didn’t know if this was better or worse for him.
“We will not repeat ourselves, demon: What did you do to our kid?” Tang demanded with a glare as sharp as knives. MK soon found himself surrounded, breath turning shorter and shorter as his family came closer and looked ready to tear him apart if it meant getting the answers they wanted. Yet he could only see the image of the calabash copies of his family and mentor pouncing at him to prevent him from escaping, countless nightmares of them successfully trapping them in his “perfect” world weighing on his spine.
So it was only natural that he panicked when they all descended upon him as he remained silent, throat closed up in sheer anxiety. It had happened so fast but before MK knew it, he had bound them all in web cocoons without even meaning to.
Yet he took the opportunity while they were struggling to free themselves to go for the most logical course of action according to his panic-ridden brain: run away, far and fast. He didn’t even know where he was going, all MK knew was that he had to make himself scarce around the city until he could finally use his glamor again. If he wasn't sick from panic, he could almost laugh at the image of himself struggling to balance all eight of his spider legs on the staff as he pogoed through the city.
So it shouldn’t really have surprised to find himself on the beach of Flowering Fruit Mountain, the monkeys scattering away in fear at the sight of him as he created a small crater in the sand.
The following silence was deafening, allowing his thoughts to continue to run wild without anything to focus on. He only faintly realized that tears were running down his face as the mountain breeze gently blew against him, as if trying to offer its own form of comfort as he spiraled.
MK couldn't stop seeing the faces of his loved ones, his family, as they looked at him with such hatred and rage. He tried to keep reminding himself that it was only because they didn't know it was him, as far as they knew he was a random powerful demon who managed to get their hands on the staff. But tell that to his heart, which felt like it was genuinely breaking into pieces. The pain was enough to put MK to his knees, choking on his tears and grip on the staff tight enough to make the joints of his exoskeleton-plated hands ache.
"Kid? You here kid?" MK didn't even think, he found himself scrambling towards the familiar voice of the Monkey King, desperate for comfort. Sun Wukong grunted as he found his arms now full of a panicked spider demon but was able to adjust his footing before he could lose his balance. He let out a sigh of relief, no longer struggling to hold since he had lifted far heavier people in his long life. Questions died on his tongue as the sound of muffled sobs entered his ears, his successor’s face buried in his fur as if wanting nothing more than to hide from the world.
“What happened bud? You wanna talk about it?” MK was silent for a moment before he gave a garbled response in the Monkey King’s fur. “Sorry, what was that?”
“A demon messed with my glamor, leaving me stuck like this and they saw me. They didn’t know it was me and they saw the staff and they thought… they hated me,” he rambled, a fresh round of tears leaving his four eyes. Wukong remained silent but silently walked towards his home, MK still in his arms.
“Oh kid, I’m so sorry. You know that they wouldn’t be that way if they knew that it’s you. But that definitely explains why Pigsy called me, threatening to eviscerate me the moment he saw me if anything had happened to you,” Wukong gave a smile at the wheezy chuckle MK let out at the image of his boss and father figure calling the Monkey King just to rip into him. Yeah, that sounded like Pigsy alright. “I think I can fix up whatever that demon did to your glamor. Then you can hang out here for a while, if you want, before going back home. That sound good bud?”
“Yeah… sounds great Monkey King,” MK answered before letting out a yawn, now left exhausted now that the anxiety and panic has leaked from his system with the presence of his other father figure mentor there to comfort him. Wukong gave a chuckle, gently placing MK down on his couch and putting on Monkey King: The Animated Series without a second thought. Seemingly realizing that he was no danger to them or their king, the monkeys quickly began to use MK as their personal jungle gym without any fear. That seemed to do the trick, as he was now chuckling at the sight of the little monkey’s looking at the doodles on his exoskeleton with curiosity.
Wukong watched the scene before him with a warm look in his eyes before it quickly hardened as he slipped out of his home for a moment. Pulling out his phone, he gave a deep sigh to calm himself before tapping to call a very specific number.
“Sun Wukong, to what do I owe the pleasure?” A velvety voice answered upon the third ring.
“A demon severely messed up the kid and I figured you’d like to… return the favor,” he answered, voice dead serious.
The line went silent, the echoes of enraged hissing barely audible in the background.
“What did they do to my baby?” Any hint of playfulness was gone in the voice, the Spider Queen enraged to know that someone had harmed her son in such a way to make the Monkey King willing to contact her.
“Messed with his glamor and the others saw him, nearly attacked him thinking he was a demon that had managed to get the staff. He’s fine physically but he’s an emotional mess. All the kid was able to tell me was that they specialize in glamor magic. Think you can work off that?”
“Of course I can, what do you take me for?! But… is he alright?” Wukong smiled, almost quipping about her getting soft over the years but she could very easily call him a hypocrite.
“I have him with me and have everything under control. Just do what you do best S.Q. and I’ll keep in touch, ‘kay?” Everything about him was casual yet the look in the Monkey King’s eyes was nothing but fire that promised he would have burned whoever harmed his kid without mercy, if he wasn’t “retired”.
“Of course, might as well make use of your “retirement” after all. I’ll make sure to make our… displeasure to that foolish demon evident for the both of us. Take care of my spiderling Wukong, otherwise I will figure out a way to make you mortal to end you.” Despite her tone, Spider Queen was only half serious since she knew ending the Monkey King would make MK upset with her. And the last thing she wanted to do was lose her spiderling after searching for him for so long.
“Sure you will S.Q., I totally believe that. But until later, see ya!” Wukong said before hanging up, satisfied but antsy which was typical after every occasion he spoke with the Spider Queen. Walking back inside, he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of MK now fast asleep with the monkey’s cuddled around him.
Totally worth it.

Prompt: Jongerrymartin but make it noir.
HI PIT. this was probably not what you were expecting, but hope you enjoy *jazz hands* this is current jongerry, pre-jgm
please let me know if i should tag anything!
Martin stared up at the faded gold lettering painted on the door, wiping a clammy palm against the fabric of his trousers. The other gripped his manila folder tightly, refusing to loosen his grip for even a second, not after all the trouble he’d gone through to get it.
Delano & Sims, the words read. Private Detectives.
He’d talked to one of them over the phone yesterday, a man with an achingly posh accent, who’d said to come at precisely fourteen hundred hours and not a moment later. That clipped, dry tone had almost been enough to scare him off, but...no, he needed this too much to run away.
Martin took a deep breath, and knocked.
“Come in,” a voice called, and he pushed inside.
The first thing he noticed were the swirls of cigarette smoke so thick that the weak light overhead glowed a thin silver. His eyes immediately began to water at the intensity of the smell, and he desperately wanted to bury his nose in his collar.
There was an exasperated sigh from one shrouded corner of the room, and then, “Christ—Jon, open the window, would you?”
“Oh, right, sorry,” There was a clatter as the blinds lifted, and then a solid thunk, and suddenly fresh air and natural light was pouring through the open window, throwing the room in stark relief.
“Sorry about that,” the man next to the window said, leaning heavily on a handsome wooden cane. He was just a wisp of a thing, dressed in a sweater vest like he was some sort of professional academic, with salt and pepper grey hair and dark, keen eyes. “Forgot we had someone coming.”
This must be the person I talked to over the phone, Martin realized. Sims.
“Do me a favor and try not to kill our clients, Jon.” He quickly turned to look at Delano—who else could it be?—who was stepping away from the fan now juddering to life, swirling the quickly dissipating smoke. It was almost startling how different the two partners were; where Sims was thin and short, Delano was tall and wiry, with inky black hair and cool, gunmetal eyes. The weathered leather trench coat and chunky boots had obviously seen some better days. “We need all the ones we can get.”
Martin’s face flushed as he was struck by how unfairly attractive these two people were.
“Duly noted,” Sims drawled, limping over to the heavy desk stacked high with papers. He set the cane aside and propped himself against it with a quiet sigh, then gestured toward one of the ratty looking chairs. “Take a seat, Mr. Blackwood.”
Martin shifted uncomfortably. “Oh, I don’t…”
“No need to stand on decorum, not around here.” Delano pointedly plopped into the chair behind the desk, grin wide and toothy. “Jon just likes to pretend that we’re more professional than we actually are.”
“We’re professional,” Sims protested, sounding deeply offended. “Just...unorthodox.”
“Well, alright,” Martin said, and lowered into the surprisingly comfortable chair.
Delano cleared his throat. “Right. So what brings you to us, Mr. Blackwood?”
Martin thought for a moment, not wanting to speak rashly, or to give away anything too personal. “Well, I’ve heard rumors that you two are capable of...discretion, so to speak, and I would prefer that this doesn’t get spread around.”
“Ah.” Sims’ eyes quickly flicked up and down his body, one eyebrow raising. “Out of curiosity, can I ask who referred you to us?”
“Tim Stoker?” Martin shuffled. “He said that you helped him out of a similar bind not too long ago.”
Sims and Delano glanced at each other, their eyebrows doing a complicated little dance, though what information could’ve been conveyed through such a medium, Martin had no clue. They turned to look at him again in unison, expressions very serious.
“When you say similar…” Delano trailed off.
Martin immediately shook his head. “Oh, nothing to do with the Circus. I’m not stupid enough to get involved with them after what happened with Tim and his brother.”
They both relaxed immediately.
“That’s good for you,” Delano told him. “We’ve run afoul of Nikola and her merry band far too many times for comfort. If you’d said you’d gotten on her bad side, I’m afraid we would’ve had to ask you to leave.”
Martin glanced at Sims, who was staring very hard at his feet, then Delano, who was observing him calmly, patiently, the way a bird of prey sights down a mouse. “Oh.”
“Quite,” Sims murmured.
“Anyway,” Delano gave a wide, grandiose gesture. “Please. Why have you come to us?”
The manila folder suddenly felt very, very heavy, and he fiddled with one of the corners, rubbing the material between his fingers. “Well...I work for this, um, this shipping company. I mostly do busywork, administrative tasks, that sort of thing. It’s not very glamorous, but it—it pays really well, despite the company being kind of small.” Martin traced the grain of the paper with one finger. “I think it handles a lot of….specialty items.”
“And the name of this company?” Sims asked, pen poised over the little notebook he’d appeared from seemingly nowhere.
Anxiety plummeted his stomach into his toes. “I’m sorry, but I don’t feel comfortable giving away that information.”
Delano’s eyebrows rose. “Discretion, remember? Besides, we’ll need to know if we’re going to be able to help you.”
“If we decide to help you,” Sims muttered.
Martin took a few fortifying breaths, swallowing the nausea down. “Right,” he murmured. “Right. It’s, um...Tundra shipping company? Run by Mr. Peter Lukas.”
Sims went very, very still, pen poised above his notebook, expression fixed like it’d been molded into his face. Delano loomed forward, the gunmetal of his eyes gleaming like the sun reflecting off of a loaded barrel. “Is that so?”
Martin glanced toward Sims, wondering at his demeanor, then turned back to Delano and nodded. “Yeah. You two—you know him?”
“Do we.” Delano let out a dry chuckle. “Continue.”
“Right.” Martin shook his head. “Well, one day I was doing some bookkeeping, just...routine stuff, you know? But I noticed something off with the numbers, like...really wrong. And I double checked my math several times just to make sure, but…” he swallowed. “I think that someone may be cooking the books, or...or something. I don’t know.
“Anyway, I went back the next day but the numbers had been changed, and—and Mr. Lukas called me into his office and said some really weird stuff that I think may have been a threat? It was hard to tell.” Martin shook his head, biting his lip. “There’s been other stuff, too. Contracts with companies that I know don’t exist, visitors at odd hours. I think something really rotten is going on, but I don’t think that I can handle it myself.”
Delano and Sims shared an unhappy look. Then Sims pushed away from the desk and began to circle the perimeter of the room, his eyebrows furrowing into a thunderstorm on his brow.
“We’d love to finally be able to pin something substantial on the bastard—on Lukas,” Delano said. “But insinuating those types of claims without a shred of evidence...that’s a nonstarter. We’re going to need a little bit more than that.”
“But I do have evidence?” Martin asked, lifting the manila folder. “I took photocopies of the pages, and notated where the discrepancies were.” He wrinkled his nose. “I wasn’t about to just write on official financial records. There’s also some of the weird contracts I was talking about. I kept copies of everything.”
Sims, who’d walked out of sight while Martin had been talking, suddenly appeared behind him, reaching for the folder. “Can I see?”
“Be careful with it, that’s the only copy,” Martin said nervously, but handed it over.
Sims walked back over to the desk, hopped up on the edge, and eagerly tipped the contents of the folder on the space between him and Delano. They quickly sifted through the papers, wordlessly handing things to each other like a seamless, well-oiled machine.
“This is good.” Delano’s voice was almost hushed, almost awed. “This is...really good, actually.”
“But you see why I can’t go to the police with this, right?” Martin twisted his hands fitfully. “You see why I need your help.”
“Of course not,” Sims said dismissively, though there was an eager gleam in his eyes. “The police are so deep in Lukas’ pocket you might as well have kissed your life goodbye if you’d gone to them.”
“Oh.” Martin swallowed, trying and failing to come up with anything more intelligent than that. “Oh.”
Delano drummed his fingers against the desk pensively. “Speaking of, it wouldn’t be a good idea to pursue this recklessly. We appreciate you bringing this to us, but it does put you in a significant amount of danger. Do you have friends or family outside the country you can stay with, Mr. Blackwood?”
“Um…” He had cousins in Poland, he was pretty sure. Whether or not they would take him in was another question entirely. “Possibly.”
Sims reluctantly gathered the papers up and slid them back into the manila folder, before holding it out. “Come back when you’ve got something lined up.”
Martin lifted a quelling hand as he got to his feet. “I’d...prefer you hold onto it, honestly. It’s probably safer with you.”
Sims blinked, then shrugged and set the folder back down. “I see.”
“We’ll be seeing you later, Mr. Blackwood.” Delano’s grin was a sharp, toothy thing. Despite its grimness, Martin found himself inexplicably comforted by it.
“Please,” he corrected before he could help himself. “Call me Martin.”
-0-
“So,” Gerry said, long after Martin had left and the excitement had faded. He filled a glass with some ice, then tipped a finger of whisky over the top. “What do you think?”
“I don’t trust him,” Jon said almost before Gerry had finished talking, accepting the glass with a quiet murmur of thanks. “It’s a bit too good to be true. After years of searching, someone just...emerges with hard evidence of Peter’s wrongdoings?” An incredulous snort. “I don’t think so.”
Gerry propped himself up against the edge of the desk, staring at the dark bags under his partner’s eyes, the cynical curve of his mouth. He looked exhausted. “You never know,” he said mildly, taking a sip of his whiskey sour before continuing. “I think we’re about due for a lucky break.”
“We don’t get lucky breaks. We get fooled into thinking that we have a lucky break, only to get royally fucked later,” Jon snapped, thumping his cane against the ground for emphasis. “You should know that by now.”
Gerry frowned. “Don’t take this out on me.”
Jon metaphorical hackles went up, and for a moment it looked as though he were about to start shouting—but then he abruptly deflated and looked away. “No, you’re right, it’s just…”
Gerry sighed. It was difficult to stay angry at Jon when he bore such a striking resemblance to a kicked puppy. “I get it.”
They fell silent for a moment, sipping their drinks, lost in their respective thoughts.
“Shall we go?” Gerry asked, setting his glass aside.
Jon paused for a moment longer, before letting out a long, gusty sigh and draining what was left in his drink. “Sure.”
The elevator was still broken, so unfortunately they had to take the stairs. While Gerry knew better than to offer any assistance, his heart still clenched at how tight with pain Jon’s jaw had gone by the time they reached the bottom. They stopped for a few seconds to let Jon get his breath back, before continuing toward home.
About a block away from the office, they froze at the sound of pounding footsteps growing unmistakably closer.
“Hear that?” Jon murmured out of the corner of his mouth, the dying light of the sun glinting off the switchblade in his free hand.
“Mmhm,” Gerry hummed, slipping a hand into his pocket.
Martin was very, very lucky that Gerry recognized him as he rounded the corner; otherwise, it was very likely that Jon would’ve run him through. As it was, Martin crashed into them both, gasping frantically for air, cheeks flushed, eyes wide with abject terror.
“Martin?” Jon demanded, shoving the switchblade away. “What the hell are you—”
“They’re after me,” Martin gasped out, scrabbling at Gerry’s coat. “They—I don’t know how they found out, but they, Peter, he—”
“Shit,” Gerry muttered, suddenly becoming aware of the second set of pounding footsteps growing nearer. He took a moment to assess their surroundings, before grabbing Martin’s shoulders and hauling him into the nearby alley. “Martin, hide behind that dumpster. Jon, distraction time.”
Despite the situation, Jon’s eyes lit up with an exhilarated gleam. Gerry had just enough time to fondly think, adrenaline junkie, before Jon tucked his cane over his wrist, twisted his hands in Gerry’s lapels, and shoved him against the wall for a bruising kiss.
Gerry gasped into Jon’s mouth, his hands instinctively falling to cup Jon’s slim hips. He deepened the kiss, humming encouragingly when Jon shoved his jacket over his shoulders, exposing the thin black t-shirt beneath.
Jon was just beginning to press little kisses down the juncture of his jaw and neck when the harsh beam of a torch fell on them. Jon, who’d been a drama queen long before he’d joined am dram in uni, pulled away with a theatrical gasp, his annoyance almost startlingly genuine. Gerry tucked his face out of the way and adjusted his jacket, affecting embarrassment.
“Do you mind?” Jon asked.
“Oh,” the person on the other end of the torch said, sounding distinctly uncomfortable. Gerry tried to peek a look, but the beam was too strong for him to see into the darkness beyond it. “Sorry to disturb you sirs, um...you wouldn’t happen to have seen a person—?”
“No, we haven’t seen a person.” Keeping one hand curled in Gerry’s jacket, Jon took a step back, lifting his chin defiantly. “Now if you’ll excuse us, we were busy.”
“Right,” the person muttered, and then the torchlight abruptly vanished, dropping them once more into the dying light of the sun.
They stood there for a moment, Jon breathing hard, cheeks flushed. Gerry tipped his head back against the wall, letting his eyes flutter shut as his pumping heart slowed.
Then the grip in his collar loosened, and Jon let out a pained groan and sank against the wall. “Fuck.”
“Alright, take it easy,” Gerry murmured. He pressed a kiss against Jon’s hair and rubbed a soothing hand against his back. “You did beautifully.” Then louder, “Martin, you can come out now.”
There was a brief pause, and then a shadow tentatively emerged from behind the dumpster. Martin looked far less rattled than he had when he’d first run around the corner, though there was still a healthy flush to his cheeks. He peered up the alley, wringing his hands. “Are they…”
“For now,” Jon said, grimacing as he dug his knuckles into the tight muscles. “We should leave before they get back.”
Martin’s eyes honed in on him. “Will you be okay?”
“I’ll be fine,” Jon snapped, straightening. “You should be more worried about yourself. You can’t go home, right?”
The question seemed to remind Martin of the current situation, because his eyes went a little wild again. “No, they...I left to do a bit of shopping, and then came back and, and there they were.”
They fell silent for a moment, considering that.
“Well, there’s nothing for it,” Jon said brusquely. “You’ll have to come home with us.”
“What?” Martin gaped.
Gerry was already nodding. “We don’t have much room, but we can make up the couch for you.”
That only seemed to make Martin all the more aghast. “Wait! Wait, won’t that put you in danger?”
Gerry looked up and met Jon’s gaze.
“We have...a certain degree of protection,” Gerry hazarded delicately. “It won’t do much against the likes of Peter himself, but lesser threats…”
“You’ll be fine,” Jon completed. “Now unless you want to run into them again, we had better get going.”
Martin glanced mutely between them, looking like he wanted nothing more than to argue. Then his shoulders slumped, probably realizing that he had no other choice considering how dire the situation was.
“Alright,” he murmured, defeated. “Let’s go.”

Fix You - Caius Volturi x FemOC Three Shot: Part 2
Hey guys! So, originally, this story was supposed to be a One-shot. But because of the overwhelming amount of requests I’ve received (thank you so much sweeties, by the way), I’ve decided to make it into a three parter. This is part 2, and the first part can be found on my blog. I’m not sure when I get around to writing part 3 as uni starts back up today, but I’ll try my best not to keep you in suspense for too long. This part is more centred around chaos than romance. Nothing belongs to me (including the GIF) Also, warnings: violence, blood, death.
Andromeda’s POV
The sensations were weird. First, I had been in a lot of pain around my stomach region. I could hardly breathe, let alone express my pain to the handsome-yet-creepy, blonde stranger taking care of me. Though I’m sure he knew. I mean, even I knew I was dying, and he was helpless to save me, so I didn’t bother speaking. I could see the concern in his eyes and hear his sweet whisperings as he stroked my cheeks and wiped away my tears. But these little comforts were not enough to stop the hurt. Then, when I saw him holding a huge syringe, it sent me into panic mode. I never liked needles, not to mention ones which were about to inject unfamiliar liquids into me. But he reassured me it would help, which calmed me down. Not like I could defend myself in that moment anyways. I guess it couldn’t hurt me more. It turned out he was right. After a few minutes, I noticed the pain slowly going away. Maybe it wasn’t the liquid, but the fast-approaching release of death, I wasn’t sure. My cries began to slow, and I could feel more pleasant sensations, such as the pale man stroking my hand with his thumb, gently massaging circles into it. Then, he asked,
“What is your name, omorfiá mou?”
Gasping for air, I attempted to speak,
“Andromeda,” came my whispered reply. With my half-opened eyes, I was able to see his perfect lips draw up in a smile. Focusing on his features, I didn’t even realize that my pain was entirely gone, and I was feeling rather loopy. I watched the man bend down closer to me, brushing my hair back and running his ice-cold knuckles down the side of my neck. Suddenly I felt a sense of vulnerability. I felt his cool breath hitting my ear as he whispered,
“Do not be afraid. You will live forever. You are mine now, and I will never let anything hurt you again.” I was confused and fear began to resurface. I had gotten away from one creep, only to be taken by another. This man scared me to my core. But before I could dwell on my thoughts, I saw him quickly lean down towards my neck, as if he was about to kiss me. That was not what happened.
Indeed, I momentarily felt his cool lips touch the sensitive skin of my neck. But then a sharp pain erupted. Whatever it was that he injected into me was definitely helping. I was aching again, though differently this time. It was a dull, electrifying, fiery sensation, which immediately spread from my neck to my brain, and all the way down to the tips of my toes. My body was on fire, but it was not as intense. If one were to be scratched over and over and over again, pain would increase. This was what I was going through. It was continuous and that was making it worse. An hour had passed, then two, then I lost count. I couldn’t see anything anymore, my vision clouded. Yet I could still hear him. He never seemed to leave. Others would come and go. Time would pass and I would feel needles in my arms. I assume he kept injecting me with whatever it was, which managed my pain; probably morphine. I learned his name was Caius from others who had come in and spoken to him. Caius. What an unusual name. But it fit him.
He had injected so much morphine into me that the dull burning sensation eventually stopped. That, or perhaps I adjusted to it. I could not tell how much time had passed, but by now, it had been a while, for sure. I had given up. If it were not for his constant voice, and feeling of his icy hands touching my own, I would have believed I passed on. But eventually, my vision slowly began to return. I hadn’t felt injections in hours, and no pain returned, which was strange.
The entire time I lay there, presumably dying, I thought of my life. Who would miss me? I had no parents. Both died in a car crash when I was 12. I was in the back seat and miraculously survived. Given no time to adjust to the tragedy, I was immediately placed in a foster home in New Haven, where I experienced endless amounts of bullying. But as with all foster children, my stay was temporary. For the next five years, I bounced from one home to the next. This made me reserved, quiet, and untrusting. I was socially awkward and had very few friends. My main comforts came from the company of animals. Truthfully, I got used to this solitary existence, finding that I expressed myself better through storytelling than the spoken word. In fact, my unfortunate childhood did not impact my standing at school. I was always a good student, and this landed me a fully paid scholarship to NYU where I completed a double degree in journalism and history. The lack of family and friends allowed me to dedicate all my time to my studies and work, which was conducting research for my professor. Then, after graduating, I decided to make a drastic change and start fresh with a move to Europe. For the last two years, I had spent my time travelling several countries and writing articles on historical artifacts, buildings, and churches. I sold my stories to networks as a freelance historical journalist, living alone and moving often from place to place. In fact, Volterra was my last stop in Europe before I planned to relocate to Egypt and focus on Pharaonic history there. Not many of Volterra’s tourists knew about the building I had been photographing, which was off the main street and down an alleyway. It was not glamorous, but historic, which drove me to it. That is where I was and what I was doing when I was suddenly grabbed and dragged into a dark alleyway.
My life had been flashing before my eyes over and over again. I wanted to live. To do better. To be better. I was sick of being alone. So, when my vision began returning, I was filled with motivation to live. Really live. Finally, I could focus my eyes. I stared up at what appeared to be a bed canopy. It was velvet, and dark red in color. To my right, I could sense the smell of burning candles. It was so prominent that it made my nose burn. My hands were balled into fists, grasping the cotton sheets and I could see that I ripped holes in them. How much pain was I in that I ripped a bedsheet with my bare hands? I then noticed something strange. I was not breathing. Since when was I not breathing? This frightened me immensely, and I bolted into an upright sitting position. As I did, the bed violently shook. The canopy swayed as if it would collapse at any second. Did I do this? I’m a weak little girl who couldn’t even fight off a drunk man in an alleyway, how was I doing all this? I heard a sound to my left and immediately snapped my head towards the source. It was a young woman – girl more like it – that I did not recognize. She had strange red eyes, much like my rescuer. But she frightened me more than him. There was a certain evil surrounding her, I could sense it. How, I did not know. All I knew was that she did not wish me well.
“Hello, Andromeda.” She spoke coolly.
I looked at her, suspicion and confusion painted over my face.
“H-how do you know my name?”
“Master Caius told me.”
‘Master?’ that sounded strange. Not something a girl would call a man. What was this, a sex trafficking operation? Before I could speak, she continued.
“He has been by your side. He will return any minute now. He went out hunting for you.” She spoke like an information-giving robot: just spewing facts, unmoving, her expression unchanging.
I closed my eyes and shook my head. “Hunting… that’s not necessary. I- I don’t eat meat.” Her expression finally changed. Her smirk transformed into a creepy smile, and she let out a laugh.
“Believe me, dear girl. It is not exactly meat he will be returning with.” She turned on her heels and stormed out of the room. Two guards opened the bedroom door for her and shut it as she left. So, they have my room guarded. I guess they aren’t going to let me leave.
I was not in a hurry; I needed to see Caius. Thank him. And ask him how he was able to fix me. Was I remembering correctly that he bit me?! What a strange thing to do. I looked down on my stomach, which was completely injury-free. Then, I reached my hand to the back of my neck, trying to feel any bitemarks there. Nothing. What the hell? I did not understand. I had a lot of questions and needed answers, the most pressing of which was why my throat was on fire. I would have asked the girl, but something in me yelled to keep my distance from her; that she was dangerous. Slowly, I stood up from the bed, noticing that the white dress I had on when I was shot was no longer on me. Instead, I wore a soft, white nightgown, with lace on the collar. It seemed like a typical garment from Tudor England, or something. It was unlike anything I had seen in any mall or shop. Come to think of it, the entire room had a historic, gothic feel to it. The décor resembled a royal palace.
My feet hit the marble floor and I began walking around the room, making my way to the bookshelf. There, a massive assortment of books awaited. However, they were not the typical books one would find in a normal home. These were all historic and ancient. I picked up a copy of the Iliad. Looking at the bindings, I could tell the book was old. More interestingly, it was still written in Homeric Greek – not a language many would be able to read. Whoever this belongs to was most definitely smart.
Suddenly, I felt the burning in my throat worsen. The sensation intensified to the point where I was nearly panicking. Ready to run for the doors and ask the guards for help, I heard footsteps approaching.
The door swung open, and the man… Caius walked in. No longer dying, I could properly admire his features. He looked perfect, truly. Not a single flaw on his face or skin. His nearly white, blonde hair carefully combed back behind his ears. He moved towards where I was sat in an armchair and knelt in front of me. Immediately, I was filled with a calmness. It was like I was home. I cannot describe it completely, but it was as if all problems were erased, and I was safe. This was the second time I managed to judge a person based on feelings, all within the last few minutes. First with the young woman from earlier, and now Caius. Before he could speak, the feeling was gone, and replaced once again with unease and danger, as I watched the young woman reappear, dragging a man by his wrist. Behind her, the guards entered the room and stood on either side of the man. I could feel that he was not dangerous, as the fear was practically radiating off him. The woman stepped behind him and gave him a push towards me.
“Dinner,” she stated coldly. I looked from her to the frightened man, to Caius. I could see annoyance on his face, as he turned to her and spoke.
“Must you, Jane? Do you not know of patience?”
“Forgive me, Master Caius. You were not one to show patience often, and I do learn from you.” She stated simply.
When Caius turned to me, I was grasping my throat, which was burning almost unbearably. “What is happening?!” I choked out.
“I know this will not make sense to you right now, and I will explain everything, I promise. But the only thing that will stop the ache is if you drink blood. You need to drink this man’s blood.” Caius whispered to me, out of earshot of the poor man.
I froze and looked at him with wide eyes, face in complete and utter shock.
“WHAT?! What did you just say?!” I exclaimed, not believing what I heard.
He sighed and leaned in once again, whispering. “In order to save your life from your injuries, I was forced to turn you into a vampire. You need blood, and you need it now. Trust me.” He tried again.
“I WILL NOT! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!” Hastily standing, I pushed him away. My intention was to give him a normal, hard push so that he gets the message. But nothing prepared me for what happened. When I pushed him, he went flying across the room and hitting a marble column, which shattered on impact. Immediately, the room was filled with noise and dust as the column went crashing down around him. I pushed myself into the corner of the room and watched in terror. That impact would have killed an elephant. Yet Caius, simply rose, brushing dust off his blazer and pants. The evil woman – Jane as he called her – appeared emotionless as she turned her attention from Caius to me.
“Fine. More for us then,” she said. What followed, was simply too much for me to handle.
First, I heard Caius yelling, “Jane, NO!” In one swift motion, she tore the frightened man’s throat with her teeth. Blood gushed out from the wound, spilling all over the white marble floor. I screamed in terror. But what was even more terrifying than the poor man’s death, was the smell of his blood. It was driving me crazy. It was like nothing I had ever experienced it. I craved it. Needed it. And was so close to taking it all for myself. But with any remaining strength I had left, I stopped myself. This was not me. I was a vegetarian because I cared for the well-being of animals. There was not a thing in the world which would force me to do anything to harm another living soul. So, I curled up in a ball in my corner and rocked back and forth, trying to focus my senses on anything other than the delicious smell of blood.
“I will deal with you later. Take him and leave, now!” I heard Caius’ voice. “You are not to come here again; you are not to see her! Now go!”
“Yes, Master Caius.” I heard her disgusting, venomous voice once again as she left. The doors closed and the room was filled with silence.
I momentarily thought Caius left too, but then I felt the sensation of safety return to me.
“How did I do that?” I ask with a shaking voice.
“You are a new vampire. For the first few weeks, you will be stronger than the rest of us. This will pass, and you will adjust.” He said gently.
I continued hugging my knees and rocking. Caius continued.
“This is not how a newborn should experience the first moments. But Andromeda…” he hesitated, “You need to feed. If you do not, it will only get worse. Your awareness will seize to function, and you will eventually kill more than you would have otherwise.”
With no response from me, Caius reached for my hands, placing his own over them. This woke a rage inside of me. I grasped his wrists and pushed him backwards. His back hit the wall, not as hard this time. I began speaking.
“You did this to me. You made me this… this… monster. This is on you. You should have let me die. Now, because of your selfish need for heroism, I will murder countless others.”
We both rose to our feet. He gently approached me again, saying my name, but I held my hand up to block him. “Get out. I don’t ever want to see you again. I hate you.”
With that, I pushed him towards the direction of the door. He paused,
“Andromeda-”
“GET OUT!” I picked up a glass vase and threw it in his direction, and he finally left. I sat down on the cold marble tiles, pressing my back against the wall, and screamed in agony.

🔥Prowess🔥
~~~
Levi’s heart roared with pride when (Y/N) leaned into his advances, a soft sigh escaping her lips as he kissed down her throat, lightly nibbling on her pulse and licking his way down her warm skin. The two had only been dating for a few months but they had loved each other for years, the two dancing around each other ever since they met until one day, Levi couldn’t take it anymore and just asked her out. He had been befuddled when the normally confident, cool-headed Squad Leader had hesitated at his confession, her eyes drifting to the side as if in fear before she managed to nod her head and smile at him.
Since they had loved each other for so long, despite only coming together relatively recently, Levi was a little surprised at the slow speed with which their relationship progressed physically, (Y/N) always dodging the subject when he brought it up. But he was happy to wait for her, wanting to move at a pace she was comfortable with. After almost six months of patiently waiting, (Y/N) had finally agreed to be intimate with him, her shyness evident but her eyes determined.
(Y/N)’s muffled moan brought him back to the moment, his silver eyes flickering up to where her hand was covering her mouth in an attempt to stifle her sounds. Levi frowned at this and sat back a little, one hand gently skimming across her collarbones to cup her breast while the other reached up to grasp her wrist and pull her hand away from her mouth. Usually, Levi preferred to fuck in peace, having the woman he was with stay quiet to avoid letting anyone around him know what was happening, but with (Y/N), he wanted everyone to know how good he was making her feel. This was their first time together, and (Y/N) was the love of his life, he did not want her to be quiet.
“Don’t cover your beautiful voice, (Y/N), I want to hear you. I want to hear everything from your adorable moans to the sound of you screaming my name,” Levi said breathily, releasing her wrist and moving his other hand to cup her neglected breast.
Suddenly, (Y/N) moved back a little, away from his touch, hesitant. Levi immediately looked up and took his hands off of her, his eyes searching hers for any sign he had done something wrong.
“(Y/N)?”
(Y/N) bit her lip and glanced away from him, her arms coming up to cross over her breasts, her fingers digging into her shoulders until the tips turned white. Something was wrong, Levi could tell. Fear curled in his gut as he thought back to everything he had done so far, trying to pinpoint when he could have accidentally hurt her. When he came up with nothing, he realized she may be feeling self conscious. He couldn’t fathom why, she was downright gorgeous, absolutely stunning in his eyes, with her sparkling (e/c) eyes, beautiful form, and soft, flowing (h/c) hair. She was absolutely perfect, but maybe she couldn’t see herself in the same light.
“Hey, I didn’t hurt you, did I? You don’t have to hide from me, you’re beautiful, but if you don’t want to do this, we don’t have to.”
(Y/N) looked up at him, her heart exploding with love for the man in front of her. He was always so patient with her, so gentle. It was such a jarring contrast to his usually cold demeanor, but it was a welcome one regardless. She loved him so much, and she did want this. It had been such a long time since his confession, she really wanted to take this step with Levi, to show him with her body how much she cared about him. She was just scared. She knew he was different, knew that Levi would treat her right and take care of her like he had promised her when she had accepted his confession all those months ago; she just couldn’t shake off the fear that crept into her bones. He needed to know. He deserved to know.
“No, you’ve been amazing, Levi, you didn’t hurt me, I promise. It’s just…,” (Y/N) hesitated again and rubbed her arms against the chill that settled in the room and flowed over her bare form. Levi gently grasped her chin in his palm and tilted her head up, forcing her to meet his uncharacteristically soft gaze. Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) steeled herself.
“Before you, the last man I was with…, well, he…, was abusive.”
She felt Levi tense, his eyes widening before they narrowed dangerously into sharp metal slits, the anger surrounding him, palpable.
“I know you are nothing like him. You have been so wonderful, Levi, you make me feel so loved and appreciated, but sometimes, I just can’t get him out of my head. I can’t escape him,” (Y/N) said, her eyes glazing over with tears. Levi forced himself to relax and reached out to touch her shoulder, encouraging her to keep talking to him.
“At first, he was charming and sweet, and charismatic,” (Y/N) said. “Compliments were easy for him, and even though I’d had a few lovers before him, none of them were ever very serious. More like friends with benefits than real relationships, so when he started acknowledging me as something more than a sex machine with legs, I was smitten.”
Levi was quiet as he listened, his hand squeezing her shoulder gently to comfort her as tears started to flow down her cheeks.
“It was great for a while. I was a citizen at the time, before I decided the military was my path for the future, and he was the son of a kind noble my father knew since he worked as a groom and blacksmith, taking care of their horses for them. He had money, and as a poor girl working as a groom with my father, I was impressed with his fortune, and lucky enough for him to spend quite a bit of it on me,” (Y/N) sighed. “I know it was stupid, looking back now, I should’ve never gotten myself wrapped up in the glamor of his wealth, but he and his father were so kind, helping my family pay the bills while at the same time allowing me to experience romance pulled straight from a story book, I couldn’t help but be a bit awed.”
Levi moved closer to her, removing his hand from her shoulder to instead sit beside her, his shoulder leaning against hers as he waited for her to finish telling him the story. His heart clenched when he saw more tears spill from her eyes, the salty drops staining her skin.
“But then it wasn’t so great. When we were intimate for the first time, it was fine, normal. It wasn’t anything special, but nothing negative. But the closer I got to him, the more I realized he wasn’t the person I thought he was. His father has been getting older and older and at the time was already starting to have trouble with maintaining energy and memory, so he wasn’t really aware that his son was lying about the way he was using his father’s money. He told me he was using it to help people from the Underground, even taking me down there a few times to help distribute food and supplies.”
“I found out one day about the lies,” (Y/N) continued. “I found out about how he was hoarding his money for himself, using it to tempt people into doing favors for him or luring them into crippling debts. I found out that whenever we went down into the Underground, after we had finished giving out the food, he would send for them to be arrested, claiming they had stolen the supplies from him, and then dangled their freedom in front of their faces like a dog bone, using it to force women to sleep with him while keeping his fat wallet full.”
Levi growled in response to that and (Y/N) let out a dark chuckle, her eyes hardening in fury at the memories.
“I confronted him on it, and that is when it all started to go downhill,” (Y/N) said, her body trembling a little. “He started to beat me to keep me quiet, threatened my family, telling me he’d have my father hung because he “stole” something if I came out with who he really was.”
(Y/N) shuddered again, this time a small sob escaping her lips.
“Then he started to use me, started being too rough and overpowering. He threatened me over and over again if I ever told anyone about anything, including how he was treating me. I was supposed to just put on a pretty face and smile and continue to gush over how amazing he supposedly was, just as I had always done. My own family didn’t even know anything about it, my father even starting to tease me about possible marriage.”
Levi visibly paled at that and he subconsciously tightened his hold on her where his arm was loosely wrapped around her shoulders, the horror that she could’ve been shackled to a man like that forever making his heart pound.
“I eventually did get out of there when the titans broke through the wall, destroying my home and killing my family. I was distraught, but when my family was gone, I realized I had nothing left to lose, and left him for the military, knowing he’d never be able to reach me here,” (Y/N) reached up and wiped at her eyes. “That’s why I’ve been so hesitant about having sex again, about being in a relationship again; why I struggled with your confession in the beginning. I just…, don’t want to fall into that kind of trap ever again.”
Levi quickly pulled her into a firm but loving embrace. He knew he wasn’t good with words, he honestly had no idea how to respond to what she had just told him, not when his thoughts were moving a million miles per minute, but he hoped she could feel what he was trying to tell her through the grip he had on her as he held her close.
She seemed to get the message, her face snuggling deeper into his bare chest, her tears drying on her cheeks as she breathed in his calming scent and listened to his steady heartbeat. Levi lifted a hand to her hair and gently stroked the soft strands, murmuring gentle words to her until she was calmed enough to pull away from him.
“Thank you, Levi,” (Y/N) whispered.
“Come on,” Levi murmured, gently grabbing her wrist and tugging on her, preparing to give her a warm bath and spoil her for a bit. He wanted her to feel comfortable again, and wash away the horrors of her past memories the most he possibly could. “Let me take care of you.”
He looked back when (Y/N) didn’t move from her spot, pulling him back to her. Her eyes were sparkling, but this time he could see the love and lust swirling in her (e/c) hues, rather than the glimmer of unshed tears.
“(Y/N)?”
“I want to do this.”
“Huh?” Levi asked.
“I think it’s so sweet that you are willing to spoil me, especially after you’ve waited for so long, but you’re forgetting that I want this too. I want to show you how much I love you through this, and I want to be shown something other than the rough treatment I was given before. I want you to make love to me, Levi,” (Y/N) said, determination flashing across her face.
Levi sucked in a breath and searched her face, looking for any sign that she wasn’t telling the truth. He knew (Y/N) was the kind of person who enjoyed helping others, and he was not about to let her hurt herself to please him. But no matter how many times he searched her gaze, he found no sign of doubt. Carefully sliding back into bed and grabbing ahold of her hand, Levi held her gaze when he spoke.
“Are you sure, (Y/N)? We don’t have to do this, I am willing to wait. I want it, fuck, do I want it, but I will wait for you if this is not what you really want.”
(Y/N) beamed at him and lifted her hand, brushing her fingers along his cheek lovingly. How the hell did she manage to get so lucky? He was so fucking perfect, she felt like she was going to explode.
“I know you would, Levi. But I’m tired of waiting. I want you, I promise.”
Levi smiled at her genuinely, making her heart leap in her throat, before the grin turned sultry, his eyes flashing as he allowed himself to indulge in eyeing her still naked form. Reaching out for her, he brought her into his embrace once more.
“I love you,” Levi said, leaning down to kiss her.
Levi stopped walking the moment he saw (Y/N) freeze, turning around to see his lover staring straight ahead, her whole body tensed. He tilted his head as he watched her, his confusion mounting. He only ever saw her look like that when she was fighting someone, or when she was about to charge off into battle outside the walls. It was a stance that told him she was ready to tear her way out of a situation, no matter what it took. Turning to follow her line of sight, Levi saw Erwin walking towards the two of them, a tall, handsome young man walking alongside him.
Levi's eyes narrowed. He had never seen the man before, but he could already tell he was of noble status. He didn’t look like a traditional noble with his flowing gold hair, tan skin, and well muscled form, his abs showing through the pressed white shirt lined with gold he wore, but Levi could tell in the way he sneered at the state of the military base, his lips curling in disgust when soldiers passed by.
Leaving (Y/N) for a moment, throwing a concerned look in her direction, Levi approached the pair, striding up to the two men confidently.
“Commander Erwin, who is this?” Levi asked, reverting to using Erwin’s title in the presence of the noble.
“Ah, Captain Levi, this is Lord Byron’s son, Lord William. I have been informed that unfortunately, Lord Byron passed away recently, and so I’ve called Lord William down from his estate to discuss the situation regarding funding for the Survey Corps,” Erwin said.
Levi grunted his acknowledgement and turned to move back to his love, his worry increasing tenfold when he found her still frozen in place, her eyes wide and dark with fury. He was just about to ask her what was wrong when everything clicked into place. She had never told him her ex boyfriend’s name, but she hadn’t felt the need to. She had assumed that Levi would never meet the bastard, and if he ever did meet him, it was assumed that (Y/N) would be nowhere near him.
Levi felt a dark flare of anger coil in his gut, and wanted nothing more than to beat the noble into the ground, but he knew he had to get (Y/N) out of here as soon as possible. She had finally been getting more comfortable with being in a relationship again, she did not need this to set her back. Levi was almost to her, his hand reaching out to grasp her wrist when Lord William’s loud voice made everyone stop dead.
“(Y/N)? Is that you? Well, hello my dear! Long time no see, huh?”
Levi turned to throw Lord William a nasty glare but the short Captain was almost completely ignored as the young lord strode up to the frozen Squad Leader, a charming smile on his face. If it weren’t for what (Y/N) had told him before, and the way she was standing, Levi would’ve thought the smile was genuine. The young man was practically beaming, and his eyes sparkling as if he were greeting an old childhood friend. But as Levi looked closer, he could see that the smile didn’t quite reach William’s eyes.
William had his arms open, ready to encompass the obviously uncomfortable (Y/N) into a large bear hug when Levi stepped in, one arm drifting just slightly behind him, a warning for William’s eyes only, not to come any closer.
“Lord William, I was unaware you and my girlfriend were previously acquainted, and so while I apologize for the interruption in your reunion, may I remind you that we are here to discuss the Survey Corps funding?” Levi asked cooly.
Shock flared in William’s gaze for a moment, his eyes flicking between (Y/N) and Levi before he let a smug grin ride across his face, making Levi’s stomach flip.
“Girlfriend, huh? I apologize if I came off as being too personal, I only meant to greet a close friend of mine, that’s all. If you wish to move right onto the budget then lead the way,” William said, taking a step back and motioning the senior officers forward.
(Y/N) didn’t like turning her back to the young lord, but she refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her rattled by his sudden reappearance in her life. Standing up tall, (Y/N) looped her arm through Levi’s and strode forward with her head held up high, her jaw clenched as she fought the urge to turn around and tear the man behind her limb from limb. She could tell Erwin noticed her tense posture and aggressive attitude towards William, but the Commander didn’t comment as he brought up the rear of the group, making their way to an empty conference room.
Once they had settled into the room, they were joined only by Mike, Hanji, Nanaba, and Moblit, before the door shut out the rest of the military base. (Y/N) felt jittery, even with the other officers in the room, but forced herself to remain calm as she took a seat beside Levi, relaxing a little when she felt her lover place his hand comfortingly on her thigh.
Unfortunately, Erwin was not the only one who seemed to notice her discomfort as William shot her a knowing smile, and settled in the chair directly across from her, his eyes never leaving her form as he very obviously and purposely eyed her up and down, his gaze lingering on her breasts and hips when he knew Levi was watching.
Erwin coughed awkwardly at the rising tensions in the room and shuffled the papers in front of him, eager to start the meeting without anyone losing a limb. Levi’s gaze never left the young lord as he dragged his attention away from (Y/N)’s body to focus on the Commander.
“Thank you for coming down today, Lord William, as I am sure you are aware, your father was a major source of income for our services. He was very kind in his offerings to us, and was a very significant contributor in allowing us to procure the proper supplies and weaponry for our soldiers. We are not necessarily asking that you provide the same provisions your father did, only that maybe you would consider continuing to fund some of our more important functions such as our food supply and medical care?”
Lord William leaned back in his chair for a moment, running a hand through his thick golden locks. His eyes flickered over to (Y/N), and it took all of her willpower to avoid glaring at him in return, forcing herself to keep her gaze neutral when he looked at her. Levi gave her thigh a light squeeze and she reached under the table to rest her hand over his in gratitude for his silent support.
“Listen, Commander, I would love to consider your offer, as I have no qualms with the Survey Corps itself, and I support what you and your soldiers are doing to help save Humanity,” William said.
“That’s great, Lord William, and we thank you for your-”
“However,” William said, rudely cutting off the Commander. “I have one problem.”
Erwin raised an eyebrow but did not let his irritation show, his sharp blue gaze shifting to meet William’s green ones.
“Which is?”
“I do not make deals with my enemies.”
Erwin tilted his head in confusion, and the other senior officers began to whisper amongst themselves, their questions making the air thick above them. Only Levi and (Y/N) kept silent, their gazes locked on William’s turned head. (Y/N) clenched her fist under the table, squeezing Levi’s hand, who returned the gesture with equal strength. They knew what this was about. (Y/N) had hoped this meeting would pass without this topic coming up, but she knew she had been fooling herself when she had thought that.
“I thought you just told us that you support our goals and actions as we strive to make this world a safer place,” Mike said, his voice clear and low. “What about that makes us your enemy?”
“Oh, you are mistaken, I said nothing about the Survey Corps being my enemy. But there is one of you within this branch of the military that I have some unfinished business with, and I refuse to make deals so long as that person is a part of your project,” Williams said, still maintaining his eye contact with the Commander.
(Y/N) tensed even further, her eyes darkening with fury. She knew what he was doing and it made her want to be sick. She had known from the moment she saw him that he would make an effort to bring her into the conversation, to chastise her in front of her colleagues and leaders, but she had not expected him to go so far as to insinuate she be removed from the Survey Corps entirely. (Y/N) fought to control her breathing, her jaw clenching to the point she worried about her teeth cracking.
“Well, maybe we can work something out, who is it that you have problems with, Lord William?” Erwin asked.
It was then that William finally turned in his seat to look right at them, his gaze switching between (Y/N) and Levi as a wicked grin crept along his face, his green eyes flashing with malicious intent. “I have a problem with Captain Levi, I believe he has something of mine.”
(Y/N)’s eyes grew wide then. All along she thought William was just going to try his hardest to drag her down. She hated it, but she had expected it, and would be able to get through it just so long as she had her friends and lover at her side. What she had not expected was for William to drag Levi’s name into the conflict, ready to tear him down as well.
A quick glance in Erwin’s direction revealed his thoughts on the matter, his face twisted in shock while his icy blue eyes flickered with cautious irritation.
“Hmm, Captain Levi, I was unaware you even knew Lord William, do you have something of his?”
Levi glanced at Erwin and noted his expression as well before leaning back in his chair, feigning relaxed confidence.
“Of course not, Erwin, I have never even seen this man before.”
“Really?” William growled, his charming persona beginning to fall away piece by piece. “Because that woman beside you looks an awful lot like my lost bride, Captain.”
A few gasps filled the room at his words, (Y/N)’s fellow officers immediately looking in her direction with shocked expressions. (Y/N) and Levi glanced at each other before they both settled their hate-filled gazes on William.
“I have no idea what you are talking about, Lord William,” (Y/N) said in a flat tone. “I was never meant to marry you.”
William growled at her. “You can lie to yourself, and him, all you’d like, (Y/N),” William said, gesturing to Levi as he spoke. “But deep down you know the truth. You were destined to marry me. Just because you ditched me, ran away and gained favor in the military by spreading your legs for your superiors, doesn’t mean you’re free. I intend to take back what is mine.”
“I am not an object to be owned,” (Y/N) snapped, her eyes flashing with barely suppressed fury as she stared down her ex, ignoring the embarrassment that flooded her veins at his crass comment. She just had to focus, she knew he was going to try to put her to shame in front of her friends and superiors, she just had to get through it and everything would be okay. She needed to do this, needed to face him down so that maybe she could finally escape his tormenting shadow, which seemed to constantly loom over her whenever she tried to take another step towards Levi.
“What? So this new man doesn’t exist?” William snarled, waving at Levi.
“I am her lover, not her owner,” Levi said, his voice dark and low. Around the table, all of the superior officers began to raise their guard, Hanji sliding closer to (Y/N) while the rest of her friends tensed in their seats.
“What a catch,” William drawled with a snort, sarcasm dripping from his tongue as he looked the Captain up and down. “And I suppose she is so satisfied with you? I didn’t know (Y/N) was attracted to pale dwarves.”
The entire room jerked in their seats, (Y/N) even letting loose a dark growl that sounded almost feral in nature. Levi felt embarrassment wash over him at the insult, but he didn’t let it get to him, instead, focusing on the warmth that blossomed in his heart at the sound of (Y/N)’s threatening snarl in his defense.
“And last time I checked, (Y/N) wasn’t attracted to violent men with a lot of baggage. Do you really think you are enough for her? Do you really think you can provide for her and be there for her when she needs you the most? If that’s what you tell yourself in the mirror every morning, that you can be what she needs in her life, then you’ve got to stop lying to yourself. There is more to a relationship than sex and making her breakfast in the morning.”
Levi forced his face to remain expressionless except for his dark scowl, refusing to let the lord see how he was getting to him. He wanted to ignore the young man, wanted to stand up tall and tell him that everything he was saying was complete and utter bullshit. But Levi could feel it in his heart. He had no idea how, but William seemed to know exactly what Levi struggled with everyday, the question he asked himself when he looked at his stunning girlfriend: was he good enough?
“Or do you even do that?” William continued, ignoring Erwin’s warning call of his name. “Do you even make her breakfast in the morning? Claim her as your own? Or do you just make her tea occasionally while she sits on the couch, bored? How many books has she finished in the past few weeks? She always reads when she has nothing better to do, that should tell you exactly how satisfied she is.”
Levi wanted to rebuke what he was saying but his mind thought back to the past few weeks without his permission, automatically thinking back to the number of finished books (Y/N) had placed in a pile on the coffee table in his office. He internally winced as he thought about how tall that pile was getting.
“William that is enough!” Erwin snapped, foregoing all pretense of politeness, his eyes burning with an icy fire as he stared down the young lord, who merely scoffed at the Commander, a smug smirk gracing his lips.
“Oh I am far from finished, Commander,” William said in a mocking tone. “I haven’t even gotten to the best part, and I haven’t done anything worthy enough for you to force me to leave. I am not under your command, I am under my own.”
“You have spent this entire time making unprecedented, inappropriate comments towards two of our commanding officers,” Hanji snapped back, her glasses flashing as she turned to glare at the lord.
“And you would have me forcibly ejected from the meeting because I hurt your feelings? I thought the Survey Corps was under better management than that, I may have to talk to the royal council about having some of you reassigned,” William threatened, making everyone shut their mouths, despite the angry glares being leveled at him. (Y/N) was holding onto her pen so tightly, the writing utensil looked as if it were about to snap.
“And if she is so bored with you in every other aspect of your relationship,” William said, turning his gaze back onto the Captain. “What do you think that means for your sex life, hmm? Do you really think she’d be satisfied with that if she isn’t with anything else? I mean, what did you really expect? With that pitiful height, there must not be much to please her with down there either, right? You really think she could possibly be happy with you after she’s already had me? She used to scream my name loud enough for my entire estate to hear, does she do that for you too, Captain?”
Levi had no qualms with his size, he knew he was talented under the sheets, but the lord’s words still stung him. He couldn’t help the light blush that stained his cheeks when William talked so nonchalantly about his size and (Y/N)’s previous reactions in bed, embarrassment flooding his system for the second time that night. Despite his efforts to suppress them, the doubts started to worm their way into his heart, asking himself over and over again the questions that always plagued him but he’d always managed to shove down before. Now they rose up, stronger than ever, poisoning his heart and chaffing away at his confidence.
Everyone in the room flinched when (Y/N) suddenly slammed her hands down on the table in front of her, standing up so fast her chair flew out behind her, her eyes burning with a dark, fiery hatred as she met William’s stare. At one point in her life, she would’ve cowered in fear from the green gaze that stared right back at her. She would’ve bowed her head and looked to the floor as he bashed at her self-confidence until she was stripped bare, left with nothing but her doubts. She was used to his horrible personality, she was used to the way he would degrade others, and lie to make himself look and feel better. But not this time. Not when he was insulting the best thing that had ever come into her life. She loved Levi more than anything, and as William’s scathing words slapped her lover across the face, (Y/N) forgot all of her fear, left with nothing but a furious desire to rip this man to shreds.
“Don’t you dare talk about me or my lover like that. Levi is the best thing to ever happen to me and he proves that to me every damn day. He is leaps and bounds better than you ever were and he is more of a man than you will ever be. He is out there, fighting by my side, protecting me, and reminding me that I am loved, while you cower away in your cave of wealth, brooding over the few things you can’t have in this life because you chased them away with your abuse. If you ever try to degrade him in front of me again, I will fucking kill you,” (Y/N) was panting when she was finished, her anger so intense she was shaking, her knuckles turned white from where she was gripping the desk.
Levi’s look of shock and adoration as he looked up at his lover was mirrored by the faces of all of the officers in the room, some of which morphed into smug smiles after a moment when they caught sight of the surprise on William’s face. William glanced around before he sat up a bit, rearranging his face into one of a bland lack of interest. Switching his gaze from (Y/N)’s tense form back to Levi, William let his own smug smile form and angled his head at the Captain.
“Wow, strong words coming from such a little slut. Tell me, Captain Levi, when you fuck her, have you ever noticed that little noise she makes right before she climaxes?”
(Y/N) closed her eyes. She knew what this was, what he was trying to do. It was another one of his tactics. He was trying to shred her dignity, destroy her credibility in front of her friends. She figured he had to know she was a Squad Leader, one of the senior officers of the Survey Corps, otherwise she wouldn’t even be in this meeting. He knew he was losing this battle he had started due to the support she had from her lover and her friends, so he was trying to cut her down another way, embarrass her in the worst way possible before he took his leave. Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) shoved down the heat that rose in her chest and stained her cheeks, gathering all of the confidence she had left as she opened her eyes and stared right at William without backing down. (Y/N) knew Levi was about to say something, but she beat him to it. She needed to do this, needed to defend the both of them.
“With Levi, it’s not little,” (Y/N) said, causing Hanji to squawk with surprise and laughter. “Now get the fuck out. We don’t want money from you.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” William asked, his expression revealing his shock at her determined response. “You need me!”
“No, (Y/N)’s right,” Erwin cut in. “We don’t require your services anymore, now leave. If you refuse, we will have every right to arrest you for trespassing and possible conspiring against the military and government.”
William’s mouth sat agape as he looked at each officer in the room, searching for the support he would never find. “This is an outrage!” He yelled.
“What? Upset that you couldn’t manipulate us into cooperating? Angry that you couldn’t hang your wealth over us like a bone for a dog?” Levi taunted, confidence seeping back into his voice as he thought back over what his lover had said to defend him.
“I- I…,”
“Get. Out,” (Y/N) said with gritted teeth, her eyes piercing him like daggers.
William fumbled for a minute before he stood clumsily from his chair and backed into the closed door. When he saw that once again, nobody was going to come for his aid, William threw all of them a dark look and flung open the door, fleeing from the scene, screaming about how they were all going to regret this someday.
(Y/N) finally completely relaxed when the sound of his voice could no longer be heard echoing down the hall, a soft sigh slipping from her lips as she collapsed back into her chair.
“(Y/N), I am so sorry, I had no idea, if I had, I never would have-”
“It’s quite alright, Erwin,” (Y/N) said with a smile. “I’m upset that all of you had to experience that, but in a way, I’m happy I finally got to stand up to him the way I wanted to. The last time I saw him, I didn’t have the strength, which was why he came back in the first place. He thought he’d find what he saw all those years ago, a scared, trembling little girl who was stuck under his thumb.”
Erwin nodded but it was obvious that he still felt guilty, his brows furrowed as he looked between Levi and (Y/N), his eyes filled with remorse. Levi nodded at his Commander, his own version of accepting Erwin’s apology and stood from his chair without a word, reaching down to offer (Y/N) his hand. (Y/N) took it without hesitation and followed Levi out of the conference room while the other leaders packed everything up.
Neither of them spoke as they walked through the halls together, both of them lost in their own thoughts as they made their way to Levi’s rooms. Once they reached the familiar wooden door, Levi held it open for her to enter before closing it behind them and leaning against it. He wouldn’t meet (Y/N)’s gaze once the door was shut, crossing his arms as he suddenly found the window above his desk to be very fascinating.
“Levi?” (Y/N) called to him.
“Hm?”
“I’m sorry I said some of the more…, private things back there. I hope I didn’t embarrass you too much, it was just all I could think of to get back at him. To show him that I wasn’t fazed by his insults.”
Levi met her gaze for half a second before looking away again. “You have nothing to apologize for, I’m proud of you, how you stood up to him back there.”
“Then what’s wrong?” (Y/N) asked, moving up to him to cup his cheek in her warm palm, making him meet her soft gaze.
Levi cursed himself for feeling this way, for letting William’s comments get the better of him, but he felt like he had to ask anyway. His silver eyes darted over to the pile of books on his coffee table before closing them, taking a deep breath.
“(Y/N), I know I shouldn’t be thinking this way, but I have to ask…, am I, enough for you?”
“Oh my gods, Levi!” (Y/N) gasped. “Of course you’re enough! More than enough! I meant what I said back there, when I said you were the best thing in my life, that was not for show. I meant every word, don’t you dare let his insults get the better of you, none of them are true.”
“I know I shouldn’t and I know you would never lie to me but…, I can’t help but wonder if you would be happier with someone who could dedicate more time for you. Someone who could shower you with the pretty words I’m shit at expressing. You deserve those things, (Y/N), and I worry that I can’t be there for you when you need me.”
“I love no one other than you, Levi Ackerman, social awkwardness and all,” (Y/N) said with a giggle when he threw her a half-hearted glare. “Listen to me, Levi. I don’t need all of those things. I can feel how much you love me in the little things you do for me. Everyday, you make me feel so loved and important, you don’t need fancy words to tell me the things I already know. You have your own love language and that is more than enough for me.”
“You’re never bored with me?” Levi asked, glancing at the books again.
(Y/N) followed his line of sight and rolled her eyes, leaning forward to rest her forehead against his.
“No, silly. I love you and I could never be tired of you. I have all of those books on the table because I love to read, it’s one of my favorite past times. All of that stuff he said about me only doing it when I have nothing better to do is complete bullshit. I will say it again, I love you for you and you alone. Never doubt that, okay? Besides, every day is an adventure with you, don’t you dare try to add more shit to our lives, I might just explode,” (Y/N) said with a light laugh.
Levi nodded and chuckled a little, his eyes closing as he leaned against her.
“Thank you, (Y/N). I love you, I’m glad you know that.”
“I love you too,” (Y/N) said.
They were content to stay there for a moment, relishing in the feeling of being close to one another when (Y/N) suddenly leaned forward to nip at his earlobe, causing Levi to jerk.
“You know, I meant what I said at the end too,” (Y/N) smiled wickedly against his skin. “That noise isn’t little when I’m with you.”
Levi couldn’t keep the grin off his face as he felt her leave light kisses along his throat, the quietest moan slipping past his lips. “Is that so?”
“Uhm hm,” (Y/N) hummed. “Why don’t you help me prove it?”
“With pleasure,” Levi said, quickly scooping her up in his arms, beaming at the squeal of surprise and delight she released into the air. (Y/N) smiled against him as she looped her legs around his waist, her arms locking behind his neck to toy with the fresh hair of his undercut.
When they reached the bedroom, Levi shut the door behind him with his foot and set (Y/N) on the bed, watching with glittering eyes as she bounced on the mattress. Her wicked grin matched his as he crawled over her, his hands roaming, as he leaned down to give her ear lobe the same treatment she gave him. His warm breath made her shudder as he leaned in close, gently brushing the shell of her ear with his teeth before he spoke.
“I’m not going to lie, I can’t keep quiet when I’m with you either.”
(Y/N) moaned at his words and writhed beneath him when he started to attack her neck, her heart pounding with excitement and intense love for the man above her. She knew it would still take her some time to navigate through this new relationship with her Captain, knew that there would be nights where she struggled with the actions of her previous lover; but she also knew that she couldn’t have asked for a better person to share her life with as she looked into Levi’s eyes, the love she felt for him reflected right back at her.
So we know that it was Mammon who found most of them and brought them into the family when he was off being an excitable traveling dork.
Beel and Belphie as abandoned babies in the rain and Levi as some nervous snake that that found its way into his favorite perch (that "Can we Keep Him? 😍" pic gets me everytime)
But, how did Satan find/befriend Asmo hard/fast enough to just bring him home like that one day?
Like the last ask I answered, I’ll def be going a bit deeper into this topic as well. For now though I have a little excerpt from what I’ve been working on. So uh, I hope this does a bit of justice? I think I’ve mentioned this, but as a refresher Asmodeus was the one to convince Satan to go back (and Satan looped him along since they were both lonely and they’re the closest to each other out of the other siblings -sans Beel n Bel ofc). He was also the one to help out with Satan and Lilith’s disguises/glamor.
Satan’s always been one for pushing his own limits, especially if those limits are given by Lucifer. However the trip he meets Asmodeus on was one he wasn’t planning to return home from. This is after he and Lucifer get into their biggest fight yet (mostly about Satan’s freedom and bottled up frustration and envy) and Satan left everything, while Lucifer was fully expecting him to return after about a week or so.
He didn’t come back for 4 months.
Over that time Satan just wanted to be away and didn’t even realize just how far he’d went over the course of a week. Full sprinting over a week fueled by his anger. Despite all the rage induced tunnel vision he was stuck in for that first week, Satan, upon realizing just how far he’d gotten without any pulls from the magic bind connecting him and Lucifer, is absolutely ecstatic. He’s come this far and is finally feeling something other than the usual bitterness, hatred, and occasional fondness for his siblings. He figures, “will I feel more if I go farther? How much farther? What’s out there that I couldn’t find out through a book?” So, Satan travels, meeting both friend and foe along the way. It’s only until the end of the second month Satan feels the pull again.
It’s a cold deep ache that makes all of his bones hurt, and being so far away there’s not much he can do. He goes on for as long as he can, but sleeping out in the middle of nowhere where there’s no warmth to shelter himself in sounds dangerous to him. So, he does what anyone else might do when looking for warmth, he follows a light. Sitting at the edge of the woods, there’s a traveling cart, odd to see so deep in the woods, but not too unusual considering there’s a village market isn’t too far from here. Satan was hoping for a campsite, hopefully occupied by a friendly traveler, or an unfriendly one could be easily scared off by his appearance.
What he got instead was tail. A very large and sharp tail, that lead to a large flat body with far too many legs. Satan had met driders and all sorts of odd-bodied creatures, but none came to mind that looked like this, let alone any that came close to match his size. It wasn’t until he pushed the sheer and velvety soft curtain to the side that the mystery person acknowledged him.
“My, I haven’t seen anything like you before, and I’ve been all over the place!” Their voice was pleasant, albeit a bit teasing in tone, but the sound of mandibles and chittering teeth was unmistakable. “You’re lucky, had you been any less interesting I wouldn’t have let you see me, at least not all of me,” they interrupted themselves with a giggle. The stranger still had yet to turn around, even while Satan stood frozen at the makeshift doorway. Something about their tone made him feel relaxed, but his instincts screamed ‘danger!’ every moment their tail faced his direction. Satan was startled out of his thought by the sudden jingling of thick metal jewelry.
Bottom of the Glass
Genre: Bodyguard!AU, Angst
Pairing: Jinyoung x Reader
Summary: It’d been almost ten years since you left the life of glitz and cameras behind, never looking back. But someone refused to let go. When danger comes knocking, your father insists on hiring the best to keep you safe. Reluctant, you agree. Park Jinyoung is constantly by your side, but as the stalker gets closer, will he be able to keep you safe without getting too close himself?
Part: 1 I 2
**
This was the kind of life you always should have lived.
Teenage you wouldn’t be able to understand. That girl was too lost in the flashing lights and the glamor of magazine covers to understand the sacrifices that came with that lifestyle. Those things felt trivial: regular school, normal sleeping hours, being in charge of your own image and your daily activities. What was a classroom compared to flying to Paris for Fashion Week and being photographed on the red carpet?
As a child, you were used to being told what to do and how to behave, so it seemed like routine when your handler changed over from your parents to your manager. You understood that doing what you were told kept you on schedule and in work. They say that hindsight is twenty-twenty. An understatement if you’d ever heard one.
The paperwork and awaiting decisions could feel overwhelming at times, but at least you were the one making the decisions. You had a say and you weren’t treated as a money machine. Yes, as someone with employees, you had people depending on you for their paychecks, but the relationship was different. You weren’t being exploited. Rather, you were looked to for guidance. You might not have been the head honcho of the hotel business, but someday you would be. That was a legacy you truly held on to.
“A package arrived for you, Miss.”
You didn’t even bother to look up as you waved uninterested to your assistant. “Just set it down on the table.” Right now, these budget papers needed your attention. “I’ll open it later.” You hadn’t been expecting anything, but that wasn’t unusual. Partners or sponsors occasionally sent new products to test out or as a gift to keep the mutually beneficial relationship going strong.
“Yes, ma’am.” Jun put the small cardboard box on the coffee table set up on the other side of your office before bowing and leaving.
For another hour, you poured over the suggestions from the different departments of what they believed they needed to fully function for the upcoming fiscal year. All the numbers were beginning to blur together as a headache was starting to pound against your skull. You needed a break.
Yes, this was a much better career for you. Although those looking from the outside might see it as a step down, they didn’t fully understand. It was easy to look at the smiling face on a promotional campaign and stop. They didn’t dig deeper. The need to appear perfect but never reaching that level, the lack of decisions placed in your hands, the lack of privacy. What extremes had you gone to avoid paparazzi or overly adoring fans? How many dates had you gone on that were ruined either because the guy didn’t want all the attention or because that was exactly what they wanted?
Standing up, you stretched your legs by pacing around your office. Thankfully it was spacious enough to give you a good amount of room, letting you make large laps to get the blood flowing again. It was an office fit for a director with its tall windows on the top floor. Your father’s office was a few doors down the hall and even larger than yours. Maybe you should pace in there instead, to get more steps in. With the sun going down on the horizon, the chances of your father still being around were slim. Unlike you, he tried to keep to normal working hours. It made your mother feel more at ease about his health. A troubling concern that bothered you, too. When you were child, your father was Superman, invincible. As an adult, you were no longer shielded from the truths of an ailing body.
Before you could decide to check if his office was indeed empty, the package caught your eye. The return address was a P.O. Box, absent of a name of whom it belonged to. Strange. It was also addressed directly to you, no formal title preceding it, as was often the case with promotional packages. You didn’t get too many delivers in this manner that weren’t of the router or legal envelopes variety. Grabbing a pair of scissors from your desk, you cut the tape and pulled back the cardboard flaps.
And then you screamed.
The box fell from your hands as Jun came running back into the room.
“Ma’am, what happened?” he asked frantically. With a trembling hand, you pointed to the package that was now spilling out all over your carpet.
Old magazine clippings covered in red smears - smears that were obviously made of blood.
“Don’t touch anything,” Jun swallowed thickly as he backed you away. “I’ll call the police and have security review who dropped it off.”
You nodded, unable to voice anything, too paralyzed by fear. Because this was no ordinary threat. This had nothing to do with who you were today. You knew those clippings, those old articles that you hadn’t thought about in years. That part of your life had long been behind you. The only remnant of it was the rare “Where are they now?” tabloid entry that no one read. So why had someone done this? Why now?
**
No.
No, no, no, no, and no.
There was no way you were going to agree to this. Your life was exactly the way you wanted it to be and you didn’t need some over muscled buffoon messing it all up. In your opinion, you should let the detectives do their work while you let this creep know that you weren’t scared of him. The initial shock of the first package had worn off and now you were just pissed.
“I don’t think that this is necessary. At all.” You were determined to with this argument as you sat across from your father in his living room. His face was scrunched with worry and dark circles pulled at the skin underneath his eyes. When he called you over to your childhood home, you thought he was simply going to give you an update on the police investigation into your stalker.
Hah.
Instead he had a bomb to drop on you – no pun intended. His idea of keeping you safe with this stalker on the loose. If it had just been the one package, you would have had a stronger argument. But the phone calls started two days later. No words were spoken, just heavy breathing. You couldn’t even get a creative psychopath.
“I will not lose my only child,” your father insisted.
“I can take care of myself,” you said. “Increase security in the main lobby and start screening all packages that come in. We don’t need to go to extremes.”
Your father was much better at presenting counter arguments. “What if the stalker manages to get through the front lobby? Or if the mail comes to your home next time? Or if he approaches you at a restaurant or the park? Distanced security will only go so far. I need someone who will be there in a split second if something were to happen.”
“Father, please, do not stick some stuck up, full-of-himself babysitter on me at all times.”
“A babysitter is meant for children, and from what I see, you’re a grown woman in trouble.”
In the doorway leading from the main hallway to the living room stood three very different, yet very imposing men in tailored black suits. The one who spoke stepped forward. His black hair was parted on the side, curling slightly over his forehead. Two little dots sat below his left eyebrow. He possessed a fierce sharp face that had the ability to look… bored, almost. The others that flanked either side were complete opposites: one short with light brown hair and a stocky build, the other tall with platinum hair and a lankier frame. Not exactly the run-of-the-mill bodyguards. Were these the ones that would be stuck with you all day and night?
“Ah, Jaebeom,” your father greeted as he stood from his spot on the couch opposite of where you stood. Walking around, he shook this Jaebeom’s hand enthusiastically. “Thank you for coming. Your agency came highly recommended.”
Jaebeom placed his hand against his chest, bowing gratefully. “We’ve worked hard to gain our reputation.”
“And will one of you three be guarding my daughter?”
“Only in the areas where extra protection is needed,” Jaebeom said. “Given the gravity of the situation, I’m putting my best man on this.”
Crossing your arms, you felt like the child who got caught with their Halloween candy under the bed and now the parents were talking about what punishment to deal out. “And who would that be?”
“Park Jinyoung,” the silver haired one smirked.
“He’s finishing up another assignment at the moment, so he couldn’t be with us today,” Jaebeom said.
You raised an eyebrow. “What kind of assignment?”
“A short term one.”
A bit cryptic, but you were smart enough to know when a battle wasn’t worth fighting. Whatever this Park Jinyoung was doing before he would stick to you like flypaper, it was none of your business. A small little prayer that his assignment would take longer than expected and wouldn’t show up at all was cited in your head. Pointless. Surely, Jaebeom would just insert another guard until “his best man” was available again. Your father would insist.
“I thank you for your attentiveness on this.” For the first time in weeks, the tension in your father’s shoulders released. Guilt twisted at your stomach. Though you were sure that, with a little bit of time, this stalker would get bored and move on, your father’s worry was unsurmountable.
You didn’t want to deal with this. Turning away from the others, your arms moved from a defensive position to one where you were holding yourself together. Life wasn’t supposed to be like this. Not now that you were the boss, now that you were behind the scenes, away from the red-carpet premieres and flashing bulbs that burned your retinas. You had a grip on all aspects of your life. Your apartment was decorated the way you wanted, not your mother. You made final decisions for the company. That package was snatching the control of your life from your hands.
“Hey.”
You turned your head to glance over your shoulder. The stockier bodyguard had approached you, his hands in the pockets of his trousers. A sympathetic expression softened the sharper features of his face. He could be intimidating, with his broad shoulders yet lithe build shown off by the tailored suit.
“Jinyoung really is the best among us,” he said. “He’ll make sure you’re safe and I wouldn’t be surprised if he caught this guy in the meantime.”
“Thanks for the pep talk,” you sighed as you turned around fully, “but it's not the stalker that I’m worried about. I like my privacy, my life the way it is now. With a guard following me around all day, word about this will get out. And then the paparazzi will be back on me like clumps of sticky rice.” They wouldn’t be able to resist a story like this.
“I know it sucks, but it won’t be forever.”
You nodded, but more in acknowledgment that he had spoken rather than in agreement. It was easy enough to say that something would end; everything does. But what you wanted was to be able to physically be close to the end. You wanted to see it, reach out and graze it with the tips of your fingers. But there was no light in this tunnel. If you ever met this stalker, you would make sure that at least one of you ended up in the hospital.
“Jackson,” Jaebeom called out, catching both of your attentions. The leader motioned out the door with his head. “Let’s go.” He turned back to your father. “We’ll make another round at the office, get to know your security there, and create a rotation that will cover the area sufficiently.”
“I thank you again for all your work. I look forward to meeting this Park Jinyoung.”
“He should arrive by tomorrow evening. If something holds him up, we’ll contact you.”
Your father shook his hand before the three bodyguards left. When it was just the two of you again, you leaned up against the wall and let out a rather unseemly raspberry between your lips.
“Please, don’t be like that,” your father begged. “I’m only trying to do what I think is best to protect you.”
“I know, I know,” you said, exasperated. “I just… I feel like I’m sixteen again.”
Your father chuckled. “If I remember correctly, you enjoyed your bodyguards back then.”
“Because I was stupid and it made me feel important.” Very important, indeed. Not just anyone had big burly men surrounding them as they walked through airport to get to the blacked-out van waiting for you in the car park. They were the ones who kept the photographers and overzealous fans at bay. When you were young, you looked at those pictures where you were wearing sunglasses to block out the flashing and thought you were one of the coolest people in the world. Now the very thought of that situation made you feel pity – whether it was old pictures of yourself or newer one of the latest generation of young stars. There was nothing to envy. Not when all you wanted was to be able to walk through the airport and make it to your flight without worrying around being crowded or pulled at or hear the constant screaming. And you weren’t even a heartthrob popstar. You’d dated a few, though.
“Well, things are different now,” you father said in an attempt to be comforting. “and I spoke to others who had used Lim Jaebeom’s services and they said it was like his men were hardly even there.”
It took a lot of self-control to bite down and keep your tongue from spouting off. Because it didn’t matter how invisible the guards felt to the others – they were probably used to treating employees like they didn’t exist. You were not going to be able to do that. You were going to be too hyperaware of the extra presence in your life. Like a shadow creeping behind you down a dark alley. Always there in the corner of your eye, lurking and waiting.
“I should probably be getting home,” you said.
Your father nodded in agreement. “I’ll have Seonjo see you there.”
“Father, I-” One quick, stern look cut off any argument. “Yes, sir.” So much for being a grown woman.
Seonjo was one of your father’s own security. He was loyal to the family, your father most of all. He once sent a disgruntled employee to the hospital for trying to harm your father. He never directly admitted to having a license to kill, but you wouldn’t be surprised. As a child, he’d intimidated you. One time, he caught you trying to sneak out through the back kitchen door past midnight so you could go hang out with your friends. You thought that being thrown over someone’s shoulder was a stunt you would only have to perform in front of a camera. Needless to say, you didn’t try that again.
Out front, Seonjo was already leaning up against your car, waiting for you to unlock the doors. You didn’t fight him on who got to drive. You simply pulled your keys out and tossed them to the bodyguard before jumping into the passenger’s seat.
“How do you plan on get home?” you asked once you were down the road a ways.
“Rideshares are very common, you know,” Seonjo snorted. He’d become more playful as you’d gotten older. Your only guess as to why was perhaps he wasn’t very comfortable around children. Those little creatures were even more unpredictable than adults and from you had observed, Seonjo liked things… quiet. And orderly. Kids tended to be neither.
“But wouldn’t that break protocol?”
“They won’t enter the property,” Seonjo countered. “I’ll have them drop me off a little down the road and walk the rest of the way.”
“Always the man with a plan,” you laughed.
“That’s the job,” he replied with a smile.
Safe and sound in your own apartment, Seonjo bid you a goodnight and headed down the elevator to meet his rideshare driver down on the sidewalk. You were a bit surprised that he wasn’t staying the night to watch over you, but you were thankful. One last night of freedom in your own home before the lion came a’ prowling. It didn’t feel fair at all. But it just goes to show that the past never stays asleep for long.
**
“So, wait, let me get this straight: you… are… complaining at the fact that a man has to protect you and keep you safe from your crazy, maniacal stalker?”
You rolled your eyes at your best friend, knowing that you should have been prepared for this.
Dan had been by your side since the two of you costarred in a short-lived comedy series about high school students. Not that either of you were that sad about its less-than-a-season lifespan. Right after that, you snagged the lead in the show was the defining role of your acting life and Dan was able to move on to create his own fashion line. You couldn’t say what your other costars were up to now, but Dan was always – and would always be – a constant in your life.
“Its not that serious,” you said again as you leaned forward on your desk. Dan had come to your office to have dinner with you since he was sure that it wasn’t safe for you to eat out in the open in a crowded restaurant. You know, where witnesses were present.
“See, you keep saying that, but I’m not sure if you’re aware of the actual definition of serious.” Dan folded his hands and pulled up on his knee as he crossed his legs. “The phone callss might be passable, but the package of pig’s blood with old magazine articles about you isn’t as easily overlooked.”
“I get it. I really do. But I like how my life is right now. I don’t want to think about that pompous brat of an actress I was.”
“Okay, first of all,” Dan held up a finger, “you weren’t that bad because I never would have been your friend if you were.” Now a second finger. “Second of all, you can’t control other people, honey. I don’t know why they’re suddenly fixated on you after nearly eight years, but they are. And you have to deal with it.” A cheeky look came across his face as he lifted his glass of wine to his lips. “Besides, you never know. Maybe this Park guy will be handsome and the two of you will fall in love while he protects you from the axe wielding maniac.”
You gave him your best deadpan look. “You’ve watched The Bodyguard too many times.”
“Whitney Houston is an icon. She created one of the greatest ballads of all time with that movie.”
“Actually, the song was originally written by Dolly Parton.”
Dan jumped at the third voice, nearly spilling his wine. Thankfully, the liquid didn’t leave the glass, and he was wearing black pants anyway.
Standing in your open doorway was a man in a sharp black suit with a simple cut. It was the causal kind, like your father never wore. Hair almost as dark as the suit was parted on the side and slicked back away from his forehead. The smallest of smirks rested in the corner of his mouth, giving a little bit of light to his otherwise serious expression.
Surprised that he finally showed up after waiting all day, you stood to your feet and walked over to your new bodyguard. You held out your hand for him to take. It was a strong grip, but not so much so that it was intimidating. He kept eye contact with you, but in a way that was creepy or uncomfortable. “Hi. I’m (y/n).”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, (y/n). My name is Park Jinyoung. Jaebeom already informed you that I was assigned to watch over you until this stalker is caught.”
“Yes, he did.”
Dan hopped up from his seat and came to stand beside you. With his own hand stretched out, he took the liberty of introducing himself. “Hi, I’m Daniel Larken. The fashion designer? You might have heard of me.”
Jinyoung shook his hand, obviously amused by the forwardness. “The one with the reflective suits?”
“It’s actually a shimmer sewn in with the thread,” Dan corrected.
“Ah,” Jinyoung nodded. “Good work.”
“Thank you.”
Jinyoung’s eyes flickered back and forth between you and Dan, smirking. He was enjoying this. Well, at least one of you would be. And now that Dan was fully onboard, there was no one left to stand by you. It was official. You were stuck with this Park Jinyoung. As long as he agreed to stay out of your way and not completely upend your life, then this shouldn’t be too bad of an arrangement.
With a brewing smile of his own, Dan turned to you. “I want one.”
You crossed your arms sternly. “No.”
KH Comm #4
Another Keys related writing comm for @rosie-drawss, who wanted another “what if” scenario for what would happen if the glamor spell had faded following the ball and Cinderella’s Castle. Angst and hurt/comfort ensues as Sora has to fess up to all his many lies early! Enjoy!
***
Kairi is still in a haze of half-slumber when she gets up as quietly as she can so as not to wake Sora or Riku. She tip-toes to fetch a drink of water from the pitcher on the far side of the room before heading back to bed in a similar silent manner, eager to return to the pleasant dreams she’d been having of the enchanted evening they’d just had together. That happiness still hangs over her as she climbs back into her spot under the covers right beside Sora. She smiles drowsily as she takes in the sight of him sleeping peacefully, the ghost of a contented grin on his face, his white hair draped loosely, lazily over his closed eyes-
Wait… white hair?
Her sharp gasp breaks the quiet of the room, a startled cry soon joining it as she rolls backward out of bed, ultimately landing hard on the floor. Riku bolts upright first, calling for Kairi as he glances around the darkened room amidst trying to regather his bearings. But when Sora sits up only seconds later, he’s the first to find Kairi, still sitting on the floor, staring up at him with a look of nothing less than absolute shock.
“Kairi?” he presses, concerned as he leans over the side of the bed. “Are you ok? What’s wrong?”
When Kairi finds herself far too bewildered to offer him an answer, Sora turns to Riku next, hoping to get his help. Only to catch the same exact sort of stunned stare from him too. “What?” Sora frowns, glancing between the pair in apt confusion. “Why aren’t you guys saying anything? What’s going on?”
“...I think we ought to be the ones asking you that question…” Riku finally says, his tone and expression both tense.
“Huh?”
“Sora,” Kairi’s on her feet now, retrieving a hand mirror from the nearby dresser. “W-what… what is this?”
She hands the mirror over to him, and the very second Sora so much as sees his own reflection within it, it slips out of his hand and shatters on the floor. Tears swiftly form in his now-golden eyes, a shadow-streaked hand slipping over his mouth as he tries to make sense of how this might have happened. Of how the awful secret he’s been hiding for them for so long could somehow reveal itself entirely on its own accord.
Kairi carefully steps past the broken glass on the floor to sit back on the bed alongside Sora, placing a gentle hand on his arm as he chokes out a small, frightened sob. “You… know what this is… don’t you?” she asks, gauging his mournful reaction for exactly what it is.
Sora refuses to offer an answer, all but shutting down as he wraps his arms around himself, shutting his eyes so he doesn’t have to meet their piercing, questioning gazes. Kairi softens when she sees how scared he seems to be, but Riku knows he can’t do the same. Not when this is something that certainly can’t be anything good.
“Tell us,” he places a hand on Sora’s shoulder, his voice coming out quiet and calm. Or at least as calm as it can be right now. “Please, Sora, if something’s wrong then you need to let us know what-”
“I-I’m the Organization’s thirteenth vessel!” Sora suddenly shouts, distraught and distressed. He’d been half-tempted to lie to them, but he knows it won’t do him any good now; not when they can both so clearly see the truth for themselves. “W-what you guys did to save me during the exam didn’t work and now I… I’m being… Xehanort is-”
“H-he’s taking over your heart…” Riku finishes in a whisper. A grave silence falls over the room as this horrific realization sinks in, a realization that none of them want to face. Kairi clings onto Sora’s arms, joining him in his sorrowful, ceaseless tears. But those tears aren’t something Riku shares. Instead, he continues staring solely at Sora, at the white in his hair, the gold in his eyes. He stares in solemn, saddened silence as he thinks about just how much he’s managed to fail Sora, how he failed to save him, how he failed to notice that something was even this wrong until he could see it laid so plainly before him. He stares and says nothing, shedding not a single tear as he realizes the only thing he can really do right now is to somehow be strong for them both. Even if he doesn’t really want to be.
“Sora-” he starts, only to nearly lose his composure completely when Sora practically falls into his arms, Kairi following not long after.
“I’m sorry!” Sora cries, completely despondent by this point. “I’m so sorry for lying and hiding this and trying to fix this on my own even though I knew I can’t! I don’t know how to stop this, and I’m so, so scared that there isn’t any way to stop it-”
“We will stop it,” Kairi speaks up, her tone tight and anxious as she holds Sora even tighter. “W-we’ll find a way, we have to and we will. Won’t we, Riku?”
Riku takes in a long, deep breath, if only to steady himself for the journey on the road ahead of them now. A road that is bound to be long and painful, but one that needs to be taken. Especially if what’s waiting at the end of it is what somehow sets Sora’s already captive heart free.
“Go wake up the others,” he instructs the pair as he gets out of bed. “Tell them to pack their things. We’re leaving in an hour. We… have a lot to talk about.”
***
Word spreads between the other guardians of light like wildfire. Before they even leave Cinderella’s castle, each and every one of them hears about what’s happening, and very few of them are truly caught off guard when they see Sora’s startling change in appearance. The only three among them that had been in on his lie are surprised, however, to find out that the truth had slipped out so suddenly. Ventus breathes a sigh of relief, glad to know Sora won’t be able to drag this dangerous charade out any longer than he already has. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy are both baffled by the mysterious failure of the glamour spell, something that the magician chalks up as a side effect of his magic mingling with Fairy Godmother’s. And since Fairy Godmother’s spell had worn off when the clock struck midnight, so too had the spell that had helped Sora hide his secret for so very long.
The trip back to the tower is a long, quiet one. No one’s really sure what to say or where to start, so they decide to discuss it all in a proper meeting instead. Said meeting kicks off almost as soon as they arrive, and it starts with Sora having no choice but to explain the situation to the other lights in full. He soberly shows them everything: his hair, his eyes, his hands, his scar, his Keyblade, even his powers in steady succession. Telling the full, unbridled truth is strange, in a sense; because even as much as he feared the thought of doing exactly this before, he can’t deny that actually unveiling it all is something of a bizarre relief. Like every secret he’s shedding is a weight finally lifting off his shoulders, weight he should have let someone else share a long time ago.
One he’s revealed everything he can, Yen Sid asks Sora to sit the rest of the meeting out. While the reasoning for such a request isn’t initially clear, he does so gracefully, waiting just outside the door for the others to emerge. And as he waits, his fretful thoughts wander to just how quickly things have gone wrong over the course of one night alone. Just how fast a night of dreams had turned into his worst nightmare.
After what feels like ages, Riku and Kairi finally leave the meeting behind. The others hang back, likely to give them a bit of privacy to allow the pair to relay to Sora the verdict they’ve all just reached.
“Ok, here’s the plan,” Riku begins, wearing the steadfast composure of the leader he was chosen to be. “The others are all heading out tomorrow to look for the rest of the Keys. Kairi and I are-”
“We’re staying here, with you,” Kairi interrupts, taking Sora’s hands and holding them tight. “At least for now. And while we’re here, we’re going to look into every way we can find to free you from… f-from this.”
“B-but… what if we can’t-”
“If we can’t find answers here, then we’ll look somewhere else,” Riku continues, resolved. “But we won’t stop until we find a way to help you, Sora. That’s a promise.”
“But it’s not a promise we can keep unless you promise to meet us halfway with this too,” Kairi insists earnestly. “Which means… no more lying, and no more secrets. You’ve always been able to trust both of us with anything before. That doesn’t have to change now, not even with something like this.”
Sora looks between the pair, caught off guard by the brazen plan he’s hearing. One that he desperately wants to believe will work, just as much as he wants to believe they actually mean what they say. But his anxious, guilt-ridden heart still finds room to foolishly doubt them all the same. “Y-you… you really want to help me?” he asks, his voice small and edged with shame for something he doesn’t feel he truly deserves.
“You know we do,” Riku vows as he gently pulls both Sora and Kairi close.
“More than anything else,” Kairi adds just as warmly, just as lovingly.
And… despite everything else, despite all of the fear and despair and remorse he’s still carrying… Sora decides to let that love--their love for him--lighten that load at least a little bit. “Then ok,” he finally smiles for the first time since the glamour faded. For the first time since he opened the door to let his two best friends back into his heart. “I promise.”
I'm here for you with Lukabug? 🥺💖
“You know I’m standing ready whenever you need me,” Viperion told her, and Ladybug’s heart stumbled and stuttered unexpectedly.
She’d heard it before, from all of the other heroes, in one form or another. From Rena. From Carapace. From Pegasus. All of them were ready, eager—almost too eager—to help.
But it sounded different, coming from Viperion, with his earnest eyes, the hand on her shoulder, the way he leaned down a little to level with her. Not with the soft look Luka gave Marinette when he comforted her. Something a little harder, more determined and intense, but equally sure.
Perhaps the difference was in the way he said it, low and earnest, but without that edge of excitement that she’d seen in the others. Just the same warm, quiet steadiness he always projected. Maybe it was because she’d heard it from Luka, too, just as simply, fresh from danger he’d willingly thrown himself into, without any of the glamor or excitement of being a superhero even on the table. You can count on us whenever you need help.
Weeks later, she would hear it again, from Luka to Marinette, on one of the lowest days of her life. The words were different, but the sentiment was the same. The meaning behind the words never changed.
I’m here for you.
A couple of weeks after that, Ladybug was crouched on the wall bordering the Seine, looking at the Liberty. It was dangerous and probably stupid to be here, she scolded herself. The whole reason she couldn’t give out the Miraculous anymore was to keep her holders out of danger, and now here she was, and if Hawkmoth was watching, if Hawkmoth had recognized or found Luka and put surveillance on him…
It was just, she felt like such a failure and she needed somebody to talk to, and she trusted Luka, and he always had a different way of looking at things that might be exactly what she needed right now.
Still. She shouldn’t do anything more to prove Luka was important to her. She shouldn’t be here.
Ladybug was reaching for her yoyo when a quiet call startled her. She turned quickly, nearly overbalancing, and found Luka looking up at her from the base of the wall.
“Did you need something?” he asked quietly—well, as quietly as he could and still be heard. He jogged up the stairway that ended beside her but stopped when he was still below her. “Can I help?”
“Oh, no, it’s nothing, I just...um, I just needed to take a break, and now I’m done, so I should get back to patrol.”
“Are you sure?” Luka asked, head tilting slightly.
Ladybug deflated a little, sitting down on the wall and hanging her legs off of it. “No,” she sighed. “But it’s not safe for me to be here, Luka. I could be putting you and your family in danger. It’s better if I just go.”
“Hey,” Luka said, leaning over the rail and reaching up to lay a hand on her ankle—pretty much the only part of her he could reach, but somehow it made her feel warm. “I’m here for you. If you need me, even if it’s just to listen, I want to do whatever I can.”
“But—”
“I know,” he cut her off, pulling his hand back with a sharp gesture; clearly irritated. Not at her, she sensed, but at something else. The situation, probably, or maybe even Chloe. “I get that it’s risky, Ladybug. The thing is, no one in this city will be safe if something happens to you, including me and my family. So if you need me,” he shrugged. “Like I said, I’m here for you.”
They looked at each other for a moment, and Luka straightened and backed off a couple of steps. “I”m not intending to pressure you,” he said. “I’m sure that’s the last thing you need. So...I’m going to go, and just know if you change your mind, I’m here. Any time, any where, including on the Liberty.”
“Thanks, Luka,” Ladybug sighed with a smile that she hoped didn’t look as tired as she felt. “Really.”
Luka nodded, and went down the steps. Ladybug watched him pass below her along the bang, and then suddenly she called. “Wait!”
Luka turned and Ladybug pushed off the wall to drop on the sidewalk.
Unfortunately she didn’t consider what a drop that size would look like to a civilian (even a former part-time superhero). Luka’s eyes widened slightly and he moved to catch her. His lunge toward her threw her off and nearly landed them both in a heap on the sidewalk, but Ladybug just barely managed to catch Luka around the waist and lever them both upright.
“Whoa,” Luka muttered, staring at her, and then jumped back out of her hold like she’d burned him.
“Sorry,” he said, shoulders slumping slightly as he ruffled the hair at the back of his head. “That was dumb. You being who you are.”
“It was a little bit,” Ladybug giggled, “But it was dumb in a sweet way, so...” She rubbed a hand along the opposite arm. “Um...still up for that talk?”
“Yes,” Luka said quickly. “Of course. Come on, no one will see us once we’re below decks and we can talk in peace.”
