So clips of the new Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie that’s scheduled to come out soon has been trending on my Twitter feed for the past few days and I gotta say this.

I feel like Miraculous is gonna have the reverse effect to what happened with the Tales of Arcadia trilogy.

With Tales of Arcadia, it had a banger animated series with a nearly flawless story that spanned three epic shows; each equally great and enjoyable to watch but ultimately had a dog shit movie that united all TOA fans in denying this film's very existence cause it essentially killed the entire franchise for folks.

(Seriously, till this day, I don’t think I’ve met any TOA fan who genuinely thought the Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans film was good. NO ONE LIKED THIS MOVIE...PARTICULARLY AFTER THE ENDING)

But for Miraculous, with what I saw, it's looking to have a banger animated film that, for a moment, will make bitter oldie fans like myself forget about the disappointing mess the animated series spiraled into ESPECIALLY after S3.

Talking personally, I feel like the ML Movie might just rekindle my love for ML after the show killed it in S3. From the little clips I saw teased on Twitter, it's genuinely looking to be a sweet film with the love square scenes actually being legit wholesome and showing actual chemistry (and romantic tension) between both of our titular heroes.

Ladynoir ACTUALLY have cute flirtatious banter and Ladybug actually acts like she genuinely enjoys Cat Noir's company instead of seeming annoyed with his overall existence as her so-called partner in crime-fighting unlike in the show (well... at least BEFORE S5 as I heard through the grape vine).

There is no denying how much I don't like Miraculous anymore for how its writing deteriorated over the seasons which for me is a darn shame cause, hand over heart, I used to FREAKING LOVE this show!

Those of you who've been following me since my Miraculous days would remember how much of big miraculer this squiggle meister was.

I drew fanart of it for 3 years for pete's sake. So it sucked for me when the writing got so unenjoyable for me that I had to drop it.

But not lying to tell you, the movie is pulling me back in. Right now, the movie feels like such a far cry from the show that it is at least deserving of a check out.

To me, it's looking like the movie is what Miraculous SHOULD have been with really hammering into the sweet wholesome romance between our two young heroes.

I mean...my ass could be wrong but I'll still give it a watch out of legit curiosity. At least the animation is looking gorgeous.

So it'll be on my radar come it’s official release on July 28th this year on Netflix.

Never thought I'd be interested in ML again after so long but here I am again.

Hi. So, since you like Miraculous Ladybug, have you seen the poster for the new Miraculous World special?

Hello anon-chan! Yes, I have seen the poster for Miraculous World. At least, I’m hoping this is the one you were referring to---the one that reveals the designs for Shadybug and Claw Noir?

If I can be honest with you anon, as much as I like Miraculous, I’m not that interested in this new special since it follows the animated series which I stopped watching after S3. Miraculous used to be a series I was obsessed with but that changed after I got fed up of the writing and the direction the showrunners was taking the story and development of the characters.

I only came back because all the hype surrounding its recently released Netflix movie peaked my interest. So I watched the movie and genuinely enjoyed it way more than the series. I wish we were getting more from the Miraculous film universe than the actual series but that’s just me.

I don’t know if I’ll ever check out Miraculous World for myself. If it stirs up enough hype from the ML fandom like the movie did then I’ll give it a chance. For now, I’ll just observe from afar.

Right out the gate, I’m conflicted about how I feel about the design for Claw Noir. I mean, Shadybug is fine but when I first heard the premise of Miraculous World introducing alternate villain versions of Ladybug and Chat Noir, I assumed they were going to go with Chat Blanc as Chat’s villain persona; given his significance in the series.

So seeing Claw Noir, I’m both underwhelmed by his design and genuinely confused by his existence since...why?

Why do we get Claw Noir...when we have Chat Blanc? Why make another villain-sona for Chat when he already has one that's more superior given his importance in the story.

Chat Blanc makes MORE SENSE as Chat's alternate evil self than Claw Noir.

No offense to fans who love this new look and persona. I’m just personally not a fan of Claw Noir and that's sad coming from me since Chat Noir is my favourite of the two heroes.

But again, this is just my opinion. Take it as you will.

for the lovely @druidofhibernia!! This is the Rena princess carrying Marinette one!!

Okay, so maybe Marinette should figure out a way to get out of Alya’s- sorry, Rena Rouge’s arms so she could transform into Ladybug and save the day. But everytime she tried thinking of something, the akuma would either spot them and give chase, or her brain would short-circuit at the look Rena gave her- one so full of worry and love that it just left her breathless.

“-nette? Marinette!”

Snapping out of her thoughts and refocusing on Rena, Marinette gave a nervous laugh that brought out her best friend’s grin.

“Sorry, could you, um, repeat the question?” she asked, cheeks reddening.

Rena nodded, her ears flopping a bit at the motion. “I asked, do you know why this akuma is targeting you?”

“Oh, that, right. Well, see, I kind of got... distracted while baking their order. I was talking to my- my crush, and I guess I accidentally put salt in the cupcakes instead of sugar.”

“Oh, no,” Rena said, laughing at the mishap. “That’s like baking 101, girl.”

Marinette covered her face with her hands and shook her head. Her voice came out muffled from between her fingers. “I know, it was awful. I was so mortified that when I noticed, I couldn’t even say anything.”

With a disbelieving gasp Rena exclaimed, “Marinette! You didn’t!”

“I know, I know!” she groaned, letting her head loll to the side, resting against Rena’s chest as she moved them further from the monster.

“Well, I hope your crush knows what his distracting caused,” Rena teased, looking down at the dramatic girl in her arms. Their bodies flew through the air as the hero vaulted across the rooftops.

“Oh, about that... they’re actually a girl,” Marinette explained, peeking out to gauge her friend‘s reaction to the news.

As far as all her imaginary Alya Reactions(tm) went, the real thing was pretty good. Okay, scratch that. Really good. (Not that she ever doubted.)

After a second of shock wore off, Rena beamed at her, her eyes sparkling with something akin to curiosity and- if she didn’t know any better- hope.

“Then I hope she knows,” she corrected, looking back for the akuma before leaping further away.

“Oh, I’m pretty sure she does,” Marinette responded, a knowing smile making its way to her lips as she put her hands down. “She’s very intuitive, you know. And as sweet as my cupcakes should have been.”

“I dunno what it is, but I trust your judgment. Make sure to tell your crush hi for me,” she said with a wink. When they landed, she let Marinette slide from her arms. “Ladybug’ll fix everything up, so just sit tight, yeah?”

“Sounds good! Thanks for the save!” Marinette waved goodbye, already missing the warmth of being held close. But a different warmth filled her when she took out her phone to send a quick text- a quick ‘Rena says hi’ to Alya.

That should do it. Hopefully. She wouldn’t see the message until after the akuma, but she was pretty confident her best friend would be able to connect the dots.

Setting her phone back in her purse, she opened it wide for Tikki to come out and flicked her hand up to her ears.

Eager to join the fight and see Rena in action, she called out, “Tikki, spot’s on!”
