today's already the 26th of january, and i'm sitting in front of my computer, contemplating on what to say after all these months

tbh, i've planned to just merge this one with the december entry to have some sort of a 'year-ender' summary of my life lately, but i'm afraid this post that has been sitting in the drafts folder for too long for it not to be a separate one so i said fuck it and do this (plus i really like the title so yay)

so as far as i can remember, november was such a busy month and ended in a way i didn't expect. not gonna delve deeper into the details, but it was really unexpected and definitely caused a shift in my beliefs in life and love

november was the start of my thesis month and since then it has been stressful. the weekly workloads were crazy, and i barely had the energy and the mental capacity to do anything. yet i did it, because i was afraid to fail.

the fear to look like a loser was what drove me to accomplish the things i did

An au I've been thinking about the lore for for a while but still have no plot so instead of a story you get my ramblings:

(Not mentioned in this post but this au does deal with self harm)

There's two different types of gods, gods confined to one dimension and multidimensional gods. One dimensional gods aren't really important to this, but they involve ESMP s2 Joel, s1 Lizzie and Jimmy, Aeor and Exor, Santa Perla, etc.

The only really important ones in this au are the multi dimensional ones, which there are three types of. Watchers and Listeners like normal, but also a third type that's based on Gem's ESMP s2 character called Walkers. As the name suggests, Walkers can move between worlds to carry out the Watchers will.

There's three gods on the traffic smp, Grian is a rebel Watcher, Martyn is a Listener, and Gem is an escaped Walker. All Walkers are wolf hybrids because they're kind of seen as guard dogs to the Watchers, it's basically a cult to be honest.

Gem and Grian didn't grow up together, but after he ran away, Gem was assigned to keep an eye on him, and that's how she got on Hermitcraft. Grian pretty much took one look at her and said "is anyone going to get her therapy?" When Grian heard she was being put into the life series and that the theme of the series was basically the Watchers giving orders, he saw a chance to help her escape their grasp. The Boogeyman task was specifically made for her so see how evil they were, he didn't count on how good she was at following directions.

Martyn is a Listener, unlike Walkers, Listeners are completely separate from the Watchers. Martyn was sent to keep the life series chaotic for the purposes of making sure it ends and the people aren't stuck in the Watcher's world forever.

I'm honestly obsessed with the whole "existing just to serve other people" thing right now. For her entire immortal life, Gem was taught to completely disregard her own emotions, the idea of even considering herself, much less prioritizing herself is such a foreign concept to her.

I kinda want to rant about how Grian and Gem grew up more because they're so traumatized so if someone could conveniently send me an ask about that I would be forever in your debt /j (I'm going to make the post either way because this is my blog and I get to talk to myself on here)

"Hey Hope, where did you put the- oh" You stumble after opening the door to your older sister's room. Inside, Lizzie and her are on the bed, lips connected together and hands roaming over each other a moment before you barged inside.

"Oh, shit" Lizzie swore. Hope smacked her arm, giving the 'not helping' look over to her not so secret anymore girlfriend.

"Uh, Y/n...What did I say about the not knocking?" Hope sighed, walking over to her 13 year old sister.

"I-I'm sorry. I- I'll go now. Sorry for bothering you...and all...that" You stutter and scurry out of the room, closing the door behind you. Hope sighed again before walking back over to Lizzie.

You run through the halls and down the stairs. In your haste to get away from the grossness that was going down in Hope's room, you smack straight into your father.

"Woah, little one, where are you going in such a rush?" He settles you down with his hands grasped on your shoulders.

He bends down to your height and brushes a strand of hair out of your face and tucks it behind your ear. "Somewhere else" you answer too quickly.

He raised an eyebrow, "And why would that be?"

"Umm" you're so screwed. Now it's either you get in trouble with your Dad or Hope. And you didn’t want to face the consequences from either of them.

"Y/n. Tell me what happened. Unless you want me to get your uncle Elij-" Klaus crosses his arms.

"No!" You cut him off. Uncle Elijah is scarier than your dad when it comes to consequences. (Considering he basically raised your dad, Auntie Bex, and Uncle Kol, he's basically a pro at it)

Klaus smirks, works every time, he thinks. "So, what happened?" He asks again.

"Um, I may or may not have accidentally went into Hope's room without knocking again and now my eyes are scarred for life and it was really gross and I'm pretty sure she's gonna kill me for telling you this, did I mention it was really gross-?" You rant, stopping when you feel your dad's hands resting on your shoulders to calm you.

"Hey, slow down a bit. Hope's not going to kill you. What do you mean by 'gross'?" He asks, eyebrows furrowing together.

"Uhh, I kinda walked in on Hope and Lizzie kissing, making out I think?. I dunno, it was bleh" you shake your body in disgust.

"You're telling me your older sister was making out with Caroline's daughter in her room" Klaus says, it coming out almost as a growl. He stalks away down the hall and up the stairs, to Hope's room you predict, before you could answer.

"IM SORRY HOPEY" You yell, towards the stairs, hopefully giving your big sister a warning.

"What are you sorry for?" You jump around, hearing a voice from behind you.

You come face to face with your Auntie Bex.

"Hah, welllll, funny story..." you scratch the back of your head wishing you never went into Hope's room in the first place.

Hi, i just watched gem's episode (it took me almost 2 hours to watch a 50 minute video, I clicked on it the moment it appeared in my notifs. unfortunately haven't seen pearl's yet) i just wanted to rant about shinyduo stuff to someone who would care, bc none of my friends rlly watch, and i found your blog a few days ago:

gem and pearl's dynamic this session was great. i loved it so much

the red/yellow congregation getting a little more playfully bloodthirsty at pearl's remark, and then gem comparing them to her snail?? when gem's thoughts on her snail were "not deadly, if you're careful, just something to keep an eye on. and cute in its attempts to kill"

and then bigb wants a creeper egg, and what does gem want? not pufferfish, not cobwebs, not anything that's gonna win the game. just for him to say nice things about her near pearl's alliance

pearl's guy showing up and immediately going to get gem (and joel and lizzie). gem did kinda let her get cursed but a) i would also be mad if my murder camel buddy forgot some of the shenanigans we got up to and b) the curse was so cute

speaking of the curse, the voice thing was adorable. like i love being able to understand pearl, but also little aussie robo noises. and the conversation! very one sided, but gem's sheer belief in pearl still being around when gem is red, that pearl, despite being first to red in her alliance, will outlive them all. and the offer to come over, to have fun, AGAIN, when it's nothing but swords and teeth (it seems like that's when they get along best, when they have the most fun.) pearl, giving up on her voice, just desperately nodding. i sincerely hope she meant it, and that it was the one thing she wanted to make sure got across in that conversation, because that's how i'm interpreting it

gem knowing pearl's dog's name in this series instantly even tho she's mad at her...

pearl egging mumbo on/joining in on the murder attempt (not properly, she places the lava away from gem, i think. not sure if i think that's being considerate of his kill or just not wanting to kill gem.) and no reaction, whatsoever, from gem. you know, if the whole shinyduo divorce thing wasn't just forced bc gem wants ppl to think she's mad at pearl, if gem was actually mad at pearl, we wouldn't have heard the end of it. instead, i almost didn't write anything bc gem doesn't care

anyway, this got a lot longer than i meant, shinyduo divorce is made up/clickbait, gem is great, and i hope you enjoyed this episode/week's session as much as i did!

I will ABSOLUTELY talk shiny duo with you!!!! I watched Pearls ep when it came out and I realized I no longer would be able to sleep if wild life episodes were coming out. That did lead to learning the absolute hilarity that is "Pearl checking to see if Gem is actually mad at her for something and Gem going no actually I'm just mad at you for funsies" which. ma'am. knowing the toxic yuri is on purpose just makes you more deranged.

I can also tell you that Pearl is slow to realize that she not only sounds weird but people cant understand her at ALL, but she makes it VERY CLEAR she's down for murder camel 2.0!!!

Gem is clearly having SO MUCH FUN this episode the amount of insane laughter as the server falls apart around her was CRAZY, and the focus beam on Pearl and what Pearl doin did not escape my view, even if Gem made sure to solidify other alliances in the process.

Also. PEARL KEPT SAYING SHE WANTED GEM DEAD AND THEN KEPT NOT KILLING HER. PEARL YOU DON'T KILL AND ATTACK PEOPLE BY HANGING OUT MENACINGLY. YOU DIDN'T EVEN SET THE CREEPER TRAP IN GEM'S BARN YOU WANTED TO??? WHAT WAS THAT?????

Also, someone else mentioned this and it came back into my brain with a VENGANCE, but Gem was pitting Pearl against Scott and saying "oh scott came here apologizing for you when you did nothing wrong, so you should be mad at him :)))" and I am vibrating GEM WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT SCOTT'S A GOOD ALLY DO YOU JUST WANT PEARL AS YOUR ALLY ONLY THIS TIME AROUND HUH???

I think shinyduo has entered their full situationship phase, where it is definitely not divorce but I think it might be worse in the best way???

Gem is SO GREAT (one of two dark greens left look at her go!!!) and I'm glad you also enjoyed this week's episode!! You should absolutely try to watch Pearl's if you have the time, it's a riot!!! And thank you for letting me have a little ramble :D!!!

i feel like tashi would have a really hard time expressing her emotions through words. well like love and all that stuff. she seems to avoid it and get really defensive about it, like “what makes you think i want someone to be in love with me?” just the whole thing.

so i feel like she just wouldn’t have said it to art very often. i am a huge tashi supporter and a HUGE HUGE tashi loving art + tashi loving patrick truther so i do think there’s reason behind why she didn’t say it back.

and i feel like the ‘last time i was “kissed”’ might’ve been how art could’ve felt if tashi didn’t say ‘i love you’ often. you can see when tashi’s sat on the bed and art’s in the doorway, he’s very clearly seeking reassurance on how tashi views him and her love for him

here's my massive stupid autistic rant about life series characters and my head canons for them

literally everything i'm thinking about is going on here im not even processing it im just typing sorry for any typos there will be many😭

okay it's the morning so i'm gonna continue this thumbs up emoji

starting off strong with mr grian minecraft himself (oh wow what a surprise /s)

he tried piercing his own nose in highschool. like. he was THE teenage dirtbag. sneaking out, drinking, smoking, shitty garage band that got nowhere (yes the bad boys was a garage band you c ant change my mind), mcr, pierce the veil, paramore, sexuality and gender crisis, "i know a guy", shoplifting, skipping class, you name it be probably did it with jimmy and joel during freshmen-sophomore year

pearl is his sister, jimmy and lizzie are his cousins (older cousins i should specify. him and pearl are twins but she's the older twin) and they went to the same high school. he met joel through lizzie and jimmy and joel and grian all clicked instantly

joel would stay at jimmy and grians place so much to the point it was like a second home to him and they would all hang out in the basement. joel stayed with his grandparents and helped them out a lot but they passed while he was in his bad boys phase and so he just stayed at grians place a whole lot during his depression (don't worry he's fine now just a little fucked up but they all are)

grian and pearls parents were kinda really shitty (yes i'm also counting yhs lore fuck uou) his whole life and so they got taken by cps and they lived with jimmy and lizzie's parents. and they were much better until he went to japan and all that shit happened (iykyk)

sam made him really realize that like. "oh my fucking god i'm gay. and it's for a damn sociopath. fuck." (that's like half canon)

he and taurtis DID hook up every tuesday thumbs up emoji

his wings didn't start growing in until AFTER senior year (so post japan/yhs incident)

the yhs holds a ceremony thingy for all the people that passed during all that shit and he goes every year and still has rowens glasses and ran into taurtis one year and it was awkward as HELLL but like. it wasn't an awful experience neither of them knew what to say. especially taurtks is bc by then grians wings had already fully grown in and his ass DID NOT recognize him💀

oh yeah also the four of the cousins are all winged animals so grians a parrot, pearl is a moth but like she's one of the super fluffy one (i forgot what they're called), jimmy is a canary (for obvious reasons), and lizzie is a flamingo because. fuck it (also half canary too it's from their mom) but she doesn't have as many features as the others

they all grow feathers (except for pearl) when they're stressed or feel a heightened emotion and have the little winged ears. they still do have actual ears but they grew in behind they're human ears and pearl has the little antennae things on top of her head. lizzie's kind of blends into her hair since yk. pink on pink and they're more folded then fanned out(?) if that makes sense?😭

jimmy was an early bloomer while grian was a late bloomer (i'm talking about wing/feather wise)

also some little sexuality/gender headcanons those are always fun :3

martyn is transmasc and unlabeled. he doesn't want one/or thinks any is fit for him but is on the aspec (he/him)

scott is just. gay. goddamn fa- (he/him)

also just thought abt something grian jimmy and joel all had matching (infected and now faded) stick and poke tattoos that read "bad boys, today, tomorrow and yesterday" but that last part is faded completely since they ran out of pen ink halfway through and jimmys mom came home and they didn't wanna get in trouble (also yes their tattoos are in the same spot as each others it's on the right side of their chest) and let me TELL YOU. lizzie makes fun of joel TO THIS DAY about that tattoo and she likes to trace the words with her finger sometimes when they're cuddling, humming their old songs (he hates it but she still thinks it's absolutely adorable)

grian and mumbo are middle school best friends and he knows everything that happened to grian when he was in japan

grian, scar and mumbo all went to the same high school and mumbo and scar tried making a baking club called (you're never gonna believe this) the buttercups but grian was supposedly "too cool for that fairy shit" but would hang out during lunch with them and go to the meetings and help buy the ingredients and also help bake with them for extra credit and so would jimmy and joel. for extra credit of course

tango, mumbo and impulse were all in the computer club and coding club in highschool. doc was their teacher and cub was the senior teachers assistant trying to get early college credit

jimmy had the FATTEST crush on tango while they were in high school (yes they all went to the same highschool shut up) and tried impressing him by "making" a robot (mumbo made it and gave him the remote and told him to push two single buttons) and he pushed them in the wrong order and it short circuited and it almost exploded. he got suspended for a month and the only reason he didn't get expelled was because tango said it was his and it was a project. he complemented "jimmys" robot and said it had nice coding and a bunch of other nerd /aff terms that didn't make ANY sense to jimmy (that was his way of confessing but jimmys too stupid /aff to understand it at the moment so tango thought he didn't like him back) and when jimmy was talking to grian and joel about it they were yelling at him about how "JIMMY YOU IDIOT HE LIKES YOU BACK" and "WHAT'D YOU SAY? YOU SAID YOU LIKED HIM TOO RIGHT?" to which he (of course) responded with

"NO?? I DONT SPEAK NERD JOEL HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW??"

also tango wears a feather jimmy gave to him as an earring and has kept that earring since they started going out which was like sophomore year or smth like that

they also had an exact conversation to joel before lizzie asked him out (and she also proposed too fight me)

i can go on for HOURS about those three but i'm gonna a do stuff about martyn now because. omg. he drives me CRAZY

also just realizing how most of these are just high school head canons. sorry (no i'm not)

everyone in school always thought that the bad boys were the mean bullies bc they wore leather jackets and studs and cuffs and blah blah blah but in reality they were just the dorky, socially anxious losers that were loud in class because they all adhd. not because they were asshole

martyn and scott were the ones you had to worry about (mostly scott actually but martyn would be a passive aggressive bully)

those little twits had an actual burn book. martyn. the almost loser that pierced his own ears, causing them to get infected but refused to take them out because he wanted to match with his fellow mean gill and wore anime shirts to sleep and doc martins (only because they had his name in it dont praise him he was a loser /aff) wrote "annoying dorks" in the burn book page dedicated to the bad boys. he had NO ROOM to talk and i find that hilarious bc him and jimmy were actually really close and he ate the page. yes. he ate the page in front of scott's face after an argument to prove a point and scott has never respected another person more in his life

i also felt like it was important that martyn and scott got voted prom king and queen

martyn LOVES necklaces, rings, bracelets. he has a matching necklace and/or bracelet with all his four (4) friends that consisted of scott and the bad boys. he still has them as an adult and holds onto the charm when he misses them which is all the time (i love martyn angst evil laugh)

ykw fuck it he still wears the necklaces and tucks them under his shirt, he asked everyone else if they still had theirs and it either broke or they lost it

EVERYOEN EXCEPT FOR JIMMY BC THEY WERE CHILDHOOD BEST FRIENDS AND HE WEARS IT UNDER HIS SHIRT TOO FUCK YOU I LOVE THEM

and for anyone curious it was a dog bone that is split in half and it like one of those magnetic necklaces that you have to get uncomfortably close to eachother for it to work

Ok so now that I've calmed down and can actually think (by think I mean I talked to my brothers who are also watching the show and have a little more marvel knowledge than me) this is a little take on Alice and then more yapping

Yes in disregard to the last theory I reposted, if Alice is dead it makes sense. Her character already kinda developed from her trial to this one. She was the first to get her powers back and then she blasted Agatha. Now I hope she comes back later on because home girl deserves some more justice served, but her being the first death makes a little sense. I also want to think the Ouija board foreshadowed a death. When it quite literally spelt out 'death' and Rio laughed. It would also kinda fall back to we don't see Rio come out the trial space. If Rio is death (which atp is so obvious) that would be the start of her bodies. Now I think if she were to come out of that trial with everyone else, the ending would not have happened. So this also now leaves the setup for her to be like 'yo where tf my wife at?'

Also another thing we talked about was Billy. Not Billie eilish being the outro song (will not be adding you should see me in a crown to my witches season playlist no sir) but the true like tiny things that now click from previous episodes. I brought to mention how he always seems to be lurking on Agatha. Like whether it be he's the last one to look away from her or like he's always trying to get her to confess something. And nothing wrong with it in the long run I would assume, but it just sticks out to me a lot. It could literally be something, or it could've literally been me over analyzing. Especially after this episode. But now we looked at it as he's been lying about his intention.

Now idk I'm not a crazy smart marvel fan to know too much but I'm trying my best. But this is what we have gathered as a group (we spent an hour almost on the phone discussing theories and meanings)

Also they believe mephisto soon be coming🙌 I believe Wanda soon be coming too (literally delulu she ain't dead and stg lizzie been mentioning marvel and struggling to answer some questions)

All I know is, seven days to rock back and forth waiting the next episode😕 take what you will with this or don't I'm ranting on here because I have free will tonight!

uh, controversial opinion, i didnt like the MD finale

now dont get me wrong, i feel like the ending was fine, but the trip to get to said ending? ehhhhhhhhhhhh..

the animation is like, the greatest, prob the greatest in the entire series. however, the writing for that episode feels under cooked. like, theres too many plot holes, too many lose ends, the pacing is absolute dog water.

but the biggest issue? N and Uzi's personalities changed. Uzi reverted back to pilot emo gremlin, and N turns into strictly Uzi support with PTSD.

like, idk, i feel like N really didnt do anything, like, you could prob remove him from the episode and it would be more or less the same. and if you look at the merch?

feral N? decapitating J??? i dont think N earned this, that didnt happen. im 99% sure N doesnt even lay a finger on J that whole episode, the most he even interacts with J is writing the "I O U one spaceship" note. like, the N that was teased and shown in the merch vs the N in the actual episode is not the same person. [no i dont mean that literally]

Vs stand? she 'died' fighting the sentinels, Uzi's? she sacrificed herself fighting the solver/cyn, N's? he didnt do that, eldritch J doesnt even show up in the finale, N doesnt really even fight outside of supporting Uzi and V, none of the DDs even get X visors for that matter.

alot of the characters feel useless i think. like, khan doesnt really do anything, nori doesnt really do anything, thad and lizzy, N, hell, even J. this episode just kinda boils down to Uzi vs Cyn with strong support from V. wouldnt be so much of an issue if Uzi hadnt had her time to shine in episode 7 aswell, like, everything before this was building up for N to take a grand stand or something. he should be PISSED at Cyn, everything and everyone hes ever loved got stripped from him because of Cyn, he literally DIED for Cyn back at the manor, only to watch as himself and V are mutilated and transformed into the DDs, and he gets dumped on a planet where hes abused by J for god knows how long, and when he finally starts to stand up for himself, make a friend/lover in Uzi, reconnect with V, they end up 'dying' right in front of him, FOR him aswell.

all of that stress, all of that fear, all of that anger, and what does N do when he gets back to the surface? sees J working with Cyn? sees Cyn literally destroying the planet? hell, even comes face to face with Cyn?? he just stands there in fear. weve seen N push past his fear before, weve seen N confront Cyn before, so why now is he just standing there? or the one point in the fight where he stops because Cyn flashes a picture of a dog on her visor, like, that shouldnt of have stopped him. thats the person he should hate the most in the universe right now, giving him second thoughts over a png of a random dog. like, huh???????

N also never gets a resolution to his literal years of CONSTANT abuse from J. the only time N lays hands on J is episode 2 with eldritch J. who fights J the whole finale? V. whos pissed at J for betraying them? V. but whos decapitating J in the mural? N. huh? what? why??? also this is a minor nitpick, but in the ending where N yells "THATS MY GIRLFRIEND!!! :D" that doesnt seem like an N thing to do, like, N is a very humble character, he doesnt come off as the type to brag about having a gf.

not to mention Uzi, omg. i think in the finale Uzi is just being a dickhead. for example, when N recovers her he openly says and expresses that hes angry at her for what she did, and what does she do? she headbutts him and calls him a bitch. now lets consider V. what does she do upon finding out N is alive? she apologizes profusely, UNPROVOKED.

what does Uzi do upon seeing V is fine? she makes a deadpan comment about how shes happy V is alive. now tbf, she does look back and give a genuine smile, just to say like "hey, im being serious tho", but like, still, damn Uzi.

another thing i dont like is how serious moments keep getting ruined by jokes. every time something devastating happens, you either dont get time to process it before gets resolved, or the tension is destroyed by a joke.

N getting his core ripped out for example, the second i started to panic, like "OH GOD CYN HAS N'S CORE-" his core is back in his body and hes fine after like 10 seconds. every 'fake out' death in that episode doesnt work, because it gets resolved in literally 20 seconds or less. but i feel thats more a result of the serious pacing issues in the episode.

the episode is 20 minutes, whatever, but keep in mind, MD: Intermission, THE FAN EPISODE, is about 21 minutes long. thats right, A FAN EPISODE MADE BY A COLLEGE STUDENT WAS LONGER THAN THE FINALE. WHAT????????

overall i just think the finale comes off as incredibly rushed, hell, even the merch seems rushed. now im not gonna point any fingers, but certain items seem kindaaaa, ehhhhhhh [cough cough, cat V plush, Cyn plush, and random sticker sheet that just uses the animatez box art]

but yea, thats my 2 cent about the MD finale, overall im prob gonna forget about that episode and go read fic rewrites or something

whaddup, everyone! it's ya girl lizzie, super early on her monthly update!!! yes, today's june the first, and i am already writing this one. (also i plan to finish this today i hope my brain does not sabotage me)

may is very exhausting.

i had to be the adult the society (esp my family) expects me to be, and i am outside way too much for my liking which definitely messed up my brain composition

in a nutshell, may is a month for adulting. i did a lot of big girl stuff this month i am proud as hell of myself

the first two weeks of may were kinda laylow, like my responsibilities became clearer the moment the month shifted from may to april. there were celebrations and responsibilities were forgotten temporarily for the festivities. i spent the days writing, reading, and obsessing about fictional characters. (s/o to king george, you're still in my heart as of this writing)

the surge of endorphins and dopamine made it possible for me to produce several writings (albeit short) and recover from my three-month-phase of self-loathing, which typically occurs during january to march of each year. i tried to understand myself more, really use my brain to produce productive thoughts and not let myself down.

well, it worked. at least for the first two weeks.

the last to weeks of this month were tedious. deadlines were lined up and it did not help that our first face to face week was announced a week before, which only leaves my whole being not enough time to prepare for the said meetings.

it has been days since i last wrote and read, and it sucks.

i feel different. i don't...glow? i don't know how to explain it, but i was empty again. at this point, i'm already starting to believe that my happiness literally comes from words placed beside each other to support one delusion of mine.

anyway, i am now trying to focus on my school responsibilities one at a time, and i am not losing hope that one day, i hope sooner, i will be back to my element because it honestly sucks to do everything, bare minimum.

the world may not deserve me, but i deserve to give myself and my existence justice.

that's all, i guess. i am sleepy so i'll let myself nap first before i begin on my task for today.

Sorry guys. I'm ranting about Joel again because djskakaka that's my favorite guy. This post is a direct result of the tags in a post I reblogged and I just HAD TO TALK ABOUT IT MORE.

Okay, so Joel always carries himself to high regard. He has lots of confidence in himself, is generally apathetic and dry to any matter that doesn't concern him, and he overall loves to bite back at things. He's a big fan of chaos and violence, and stays generally bitter when things go badly for him. He can be ruthless and reckless and that's just natural for him because he's one of the many Life Series wolf-coded characters.

But something about Joel in Secret Life is just...kind? He's kind and caring, in his Joel Smallishbeans way. Especially in later sessions.

In Etho's little remembering the past era, he reassures him that he does still care for him. When Lizzie invites everyone to her party in a rushed frenzy, he attends because he thinks it's only fair. When Pearl was apprehensive about her task being guessed, he purposefully wastes his guess so she doesn't have to be worried around him. He trusts Jimmy to assist him with his task even while everyone else is cautious about his red name status. And when it all came down to it, Joel tells Martyn to stay back after all the reds have dropped like flies because even if all the reds were a threat to them, he still didn't want to see them all die in one episode.

In Secret Life, Joel still has everything he's always had. He's still bloodthirsty and holds silly grudges, evident with the whole Scott thing this session. He's still cheeky and likes to mess around and make sarcastic comments often, but at the end of the day he's Joel. He tends to stay loyal to his allies and I think he's more thoughtful than lots of people realize.

This may be part of the reason I love the Mounders. They were all sort of distant in the way they would wander off and do their own thing, but when it came down to it, they always stuck by each other. They remained loyal despite what seemed to be really loose ends tying them all together, and that means SO much to me! I guess it makes sense though; a team with the lonely wolf girl from Double Life and the lonely wolf boy from Last Life were enough to neutralize the whole, "Bdubs can be kinda disloyal" thing and the whole "Mumbo was apprehensive of any color lesser than he was" thing.

Anyways. Life Series Joel Smallishbeans. That's my guy bro...THAT'S MY GUYYYYYY

Also! The post that inspired this was by @simplydm! Their post about Joel's comment to Martyn reminded me how much that scene made me orbit around the moon so I thought they deserved to mentioned in this. Sorry to them if uh they didn't want to be tagged though. I will remove it if that ends up being the case!

i've been watching a lot more of jimmy's streams and he's just such a precious person gkdfjkg he's unbelievably wholesome and funny and he makes me smile a lot :D i love watching his perspectives in the life series because he's either the sweetest sweetheart or an absolutely feral menace. i love him in the life series i love him in empires i love him in new life i love him with skizz and tango in plate up streams i love him with joel lizzie grian fwhip oli martyn and others in variety streams i loved his christmas village i love that he's building more!!!!!!!!!!!! i love how much he interacts with stuff in the fandom and genuinely enjoys art and music that people make and i genuinely hope he wins a life season one day ok i'm always rooting for him!!!!!!!!!!!

Marcel is a Mikaelson. He does not have to call himself a Mikaelson as he is fully within his rights to denounce the very toxic family but he is one.

I hate the way the show treated him, I hate the way the characters treated him, and I hate that he is involved with Rebekah. I hate the way he and Hope are only kinda sorta siblings.

1. The show:

So we know Julie Plec is very much a white liberal. We know this. We know she has sexism issues, we know she has racism issues (black women will save us all, really Julie????). I don't know which of her multitude of biases made her (and the rest of the writers) think that the way they wrote Marcel and the Mikaelson's relationships with him, was normal (or like normal in the context of the show). But boy howdy.

The plantation house. We're just going to have the Mikaelsons move into the house where Marcel was owned as a slave????? That's what we're gonna do?????? And where his abusive biological father lived and y'know, abused him. Fucking what the fuck?? I feel like this just epitomises the way the show treats Marcel.

2. The characters:

The family never treats him as part of the family unless they want something from him.

They did not raise him as a son and it is weird and terrible and he was a child!!!!! Why did you adopt him if you didn't want a child???

Why is Klaus so scared of having Hope if he's already had a child?

Why does Klaus treat Marcel the exact same way Mikael treated him just because they're not blood related?? (if they actually explored this it could have been interesting but no they just only half treat Marcel as a Mikaelson).

YOU'RE TELLING ME THEY DIDN'T CHECK?? THEY DIDN'T CHECK HE WAS DEAD????? Not once in the 80+ years did Klaus or Elijah go back to New Orleans or even send someone to fucking check that his SON was really dead??? Didn't think to do that???? No???

3. Rebekah:

Oh my god what do I even say about Rebekah?

They could have at least made her be daggered for the time when he was a child and only meet him when he was already an adult and a vampire because that way she's only technically his aunt and not a full fucking adult who saw him grow up!!!!!!!!

Hope:

Idk man, they were siblings. Let them be siblings. The whole thing in Legacies where the Mikaelsons just kind of left Hope alone? Weird. Bonkers. Batshit. I know it's because they couldn't get the actors but maybe think about that before writing your fucking show my guy.

Or in TO where Hope was just left alone and Klaus was not there as a dad for like 5(?) years.

Hayley was the only good parent on The Originals or Legacies canon, fight me.

(side note, you're telling me Caroline would leave Alaric, Alaric, an alcoholic, vampire-hating, weirdo (Caroline and Alaric being romantically involved briefly WAS WEIRD GUYS, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK HE USED TO BE HER FUCKING TEACHER) in charge of the school for supernatural children??

You're telling me she left him in charge of parenting Lizzie and Josie?? Yeah okay sure.

And look how well that turned out. Locking teenagers in goddamn prison worlds, excellent headmastering there Alaric well done. And just swell parenting of the twins. Favouring Hope over them at all times and letting them bully each other weirdly for years and allowing your mentally ill children to just get more mentally ill from your parenting. Great moves. Very good.

thoughts and prayers, thoughts and prayers

takes place after session 3, inspired by jimmy's short of him praying to the watchers and this tumblr post

It starts with Jimmy coming back to a certain cherry woods on a mountain, eyes blinking slowly as the remains of red life bloodlust leave him. The session is over. The snails are gone. Scar’s on red. Skizz killed Lizzie.

He’s on yellow. He’s failed at killing Joel miserably. He’s still not first out.

Then again, nobody’s out of the series yet.

Maybe it was good that Tango burnt a bit of their base earlier; Jimmy gathers small scraps of wood and some honeycomb. Setting these on their team’s crafting bench, he manages to make three small candles with wooden wicks (as he sees string being used for other more important things, such as bows or fishing rods).

He lights these up with Scar’s flint and steel. Huffing at himself for resorting to what he’s about to do, he swallows down his pride and kneels.

Jimmy raises his hands, clasps them together, and brings them close to his chest.

I know you can see me right now.

The last time he ever tried praying to the Watchers was years ago, back on another server at a time where the only people left were one of his oldest confidants through the years and his friend now donning a navy hoodie slowly turning scarlet. It was the three of them left for some time, holding onto promises of their other servermates coming back, and yet…

And I know we struggle a lot with seeing eye to eye, especially with how you lot seem to curse me in these death games…

He sighs. He knows Grian is one of them, but he doesn’t know the full extent of Grian’s powers. They’re probably enough to kill him, send him to the grave with a snap.

But please, please, please…

Jimmy closes his eyes,

Let Mumbo be out first!?

He groans a bit, opening his eyes up to the sky, furiously muttering under his breath.

For void’s sake! People take a piss at me and Scar for being clueless, but- but have they seen Mumbo? And Skizz – oh, light bless him – but he’s kinda just as clueless as Mumbo. I know I failed a lot today, but please, I can pull a trap with my eyes closed while they’ll be fumbling around. Seriously, I may be the type to slip off the edge while pushing a TNT minecart, but Mumbo’s the type of person to… I don’t know, set himself on fire accidentally? Stand in a kill zone willingly? Point is, we’re both bad. Why can’t he be the one here? Why can’t I live longer?

He continues his quick rant-prayer to the watchers for a bit, shifting his gaze back to the melting candles in front of him as the sun starts to rise.

Also, it would absolutely ignore the HECK out of Grian. You guys don’t like him as much, right? Well this is your chance to make him suffer more. Please, please, please, it would be so funny to see his reaction.

He pauses for a bit.

By the way, this is not me saying I hate Mumbo, no, no! He’s an AHA-wesome dude -

He snorts, quickly slapping himself in the face to go back to the prayer.

- but it would be nice not to be out first.

Jimmy starts to stand, before remembering something else.

He gets back on his knees, Oh, also… please don’t let Scar die next session? I am well aware how capable that man is, but it still worries me a bit.

His mind goes silent, and Jimmy’s about to stand again before -

Last, last, I swear… please don’t let Tango be out first? It would suck to see him go.

Finally, Jimmy stands, and he does the same motions with his arms earlier. There’s still a bit before the sun fully rises, so he takes the moment to scheme.

So, how the heck could I get a kill on Grian or Joel next session?

ok so I was originally going to write a fic for this but i didn't have the time/motivation, and now im left will all the wack au ideas that wouldve been included

the main difference in this AU is that Lizzie's a vampire- that's it mostly, everything else follows closesly with canon

life giving/receiving is personalized in this AU

--- lizzie gives/receives extra lives by vampire-biting them (she usually does it on the neck for drama, but it would work anyplace else. she's just extra) , martyn uses an axe as the magic conduit, scar does some sort of blood mixing, and those are all the people i thought of so everyone else is a mystery

--- since lizzie's thing is so violent she tries to hide it as much as possible. card up her sleeve and all

vampires in this one are fae-adjacent in that they can lie (and in lizzies case they have wings) but they cannot break oaths/promises (by extension, this forces the other person(s) participating in the oath also 100% bound to their promise)

that is important bc instead of giving it straight away, lizzie promises Ren his life for his loyalty. since he kinda sorta needs that life he doesnt leave when lizzie turns red and they become power duo. lizzie knows that once ren gets his life he's free to dip so she kinda holds it over his head

however comma when ren DOES find out about her vampire everything he freaks and accuses her of being a monster with an unfair advantage, and they get into a big fight during the battle where lizzie originally died (which is what the main art is based off of)

ren gets his promised life as hes on his perma-death bed, and stays with lizzie out of like. residual obligation after that

neither of them win tho
