gem being so used to keeping her ears up for missions and ears down rest of the time so she ‘knows her place’ leading to her ears being down the majority of the time because no one gives her orders here and she’s confused but she doesn’t want to seem rebellious and like she’s ‘claiming to be better’

this leads to her ears being unintentionally hidden most of the time so people didn’t know for most of the time, forgetting that she’s a wolf until they walk past her and are like— is that a tail what.

usually ren would somewhat be fine with that, some breeds have drooping or somewhat hidden ears, but wolf ears don’t do that. they’re supposed to be upright because they’re predators and use sound. its done to show submission(?) and he.. he’s honestly getting concerned about where gem came from**

** note i do not know anything/much about wolves, my knowledge is random at best

Ren's genuinely very concerned for Gem but Martyn won't tell him anything, he got excited when there was another canine hybrid because body language is pretty important for dogs and nobody else in the life series can "talk" the same way that Ren and other canine hybrids do

Martyn told him there was a new wolf hybrid during Real life and he was thrilled but didn't really have time to talk with her

He was a little surprised when he met Gem and she barely used her tail and ears and he got real worried that her tail was paralyzed and her ears were chipped off or something, but then he saw Gem's ears poke up and swivel towards a noise and now he's even more concerned because why is she constantly displaying signs of submission what is going on

"Beware the Well of Shade, for the shadows run deep through its endless walls and twisting caverns" I've been messing around with this rig on and off for awhile, but I finally finished this little side project making a short scene in the style of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've never been quite happy with how Starswirl the Bearded looked in the show when he finally appeared but, last year I happened upon a really cool fan design of Starswirl by the user Orin311 that I fell in love with. I decided to make a one view puppet rig this year directly based off their vector art as a surprise, complete with show style lip sync and a full walk cycle. One thing led to another in adding a background, a few illustrator texture brushes, multiple sound effects, re-purposing some old fire animation of mine and suddenly it became a whole completed scene. With such a cool wizard design, the choice for using Gandalf's voice to test the rig with was a no brainier. The background is based on the Well of Shade location in the Season 7 finale of MLP. I had a lot of fun making this and it was great practice for some future personal animation projects I wanna start next year! Credits for the character design and sound effects listed below

The prompt was for the EAPS show hosts to go dimension hopping as they find their way back to their own dimension.

Puppet and Eclipse travel to a rather magical dimension where they encounter a certain duo of fairies~

Puppet finds the little Sun one adorable! Eclipse is already miffed at seeing a miniature Moon. The Moon fairy isn't very pleased to see him either~
