I feel like I'm the minority here, but I don't think trimming branches off trees and bushes or cutting the grass is actually spiritually significant to them.

Lots of folk like to ask permission of a tree's spirit before taking a limb. Which is good, being polite is always a plus. But I genuinely don't think they care. I feel like they have a relationship to branches and leaves like we do to hair or nails - a part of you that grows but doesn't actually hurt to remove.

I think it comes down to scale as well. Taking a 3in thick limb from an ancient Oak tree is going to be irksome but not detrimental, because it has 15 more. Taking a single leaf from a sapling could kill it.

I don’t think I can even remember seeing one singular post about antisemitism since 10/7 (and I’ve seen a lot) that wasn’t met with outright doubt (“has this actually happened to anyone?”), suspicion (“weird that OP hasn’t said anything about X in this post that isn’t about X, must secretly mean something about what they think that they’re not telling us, and it must be bad” or attempts at moral slander to delegitimize whatever incident the person was talking about (…as if OP being a shitbag in whatever way suits your fancy would make the antisemitism okay? …Do you scream racial slurs at transphobes and the like too? Do you think bigotry stops being bigotry or becomes okay if a person “deserves” it? Do you think bigotry can be earned?)

And if the thing being talked about is something like… a worldwide problem tons of Jews all over have been dealing with and talking to each other about, there’s always someone who asks the OP for the burden of proof, when it’s either an easily google-able thing, (from synagogue shootings, to magen davids being banned at pride events and general feelings of being unwelcome from queer Jews, to the hate-crime rape of a 12 year old, to harassment of Jews from college protestors) or in the most annoying cases, said proof/example is sometimes even just sitting in the comments of the same damn post for any old idiot to see with their eyes.

garak and bashirs parenting styles are reversed for grandparenting. julian's a total sap for his grandkids, taking them on trips and buying them elaborate educational toys. garak is the reserved victorian grandfather smoking a pipe in the study talking about The Old Days and ordering them around (especially in the garden, his knees aren't what they used to be.)

Bashir is still annoyed at the passage of time seeing fit to give his children (who, in his mind, are still kids) children of their own. Rude!

william's backstory is basically the same except after gaining his powers he's caught up in an accident and blamed for it and instead of like. trying to do anything to teach this powered teen what to do with his powers theyre just like. alright. to jail with you.

after the surgery dakota kind of runs rampant feral style until he's caught and instead of re: teaching this kid how to use his powers or like. getting him some noise canceling headphone they throw him right in with william.

virion is basically the same.

ashe is like the main change in this au because instead of mark becoming a lizard she gets kidnapped as a kid and turned into a weird little freak. at some point one of mark's jobs gets fucked up because he didnt wanna endanger some kid and so overlord got pissed and took his kid. normal reaction to have. ashe grows up sheltered because mark is terrified of loosing her again, moreso now since it Happened. but at some point mark goes missing and ashe has to fill his place to "pay his debt" so to speak.

william, dakota, and virion do the same prison break but instead of Blowing Up The Fucking Moon they chill out and do more low-key crime. like fighting heros in the middle of cities. they mak a Lot of enemies, not jut with heros because theyve got very The World Is Corrupt which generally includes villains so they get a hit put on them. ashe is sent to track them down and take them out but shes like. lmao y'all hilarious.
