A light dusting of snow is just beginning to coat everything when you sneak out of the dorms to wander around campus with your best friend. He texted you a few minutes ago as the flakes were beginning to stick, piling up on top of the trees and shrines. It’s peaceful out here. Quieter than usual.

As Megumi walks by your side, occasionally you glance at him. Wondering what he’s thinking. Noticing the way his hand swings lightly at his side. You wish you could reach out and hold it, at this point, you’ve spent countless hours of your life debating if it would be okay to. 

But you don’t. 

As much as you’d love to make the first move, you’d rather not ruin your friendship if he’s not interested. You’ve been close for a while, far longer than either of you had even considered attending Jujutsu High. It wasn’t until the past few years that you realized your feelings for him aren’t just platonic. 

Megumi kneels down, gathering snow between his hands. You wonder what he’s doing, whatever it is he looks gorgeous doing so. Light reflects from the snow, illuminating his dark blue eyes. You watch the subtle playfulness in his features as he–

Suddenly, cold explodes off the side of your cheek, leaving you covered in chunks of snow. Your hand reaches for your face to confirm, yes he did just throw a snowball at you. 

Leaping behind a bush, you gather as much snow as you can to press into a ball of your own. Megumi is already prepared and lands another on you the moment you pop up. You throw yours in a rush, barely grazing his shoulder. 

He laughs and you exchange a few more, one of which lands square on his forehead. It’s cute, most people never get to see him like this. 

In your frantic attempt to avoid being hit, you fall into another bush. A hand reaches down and you take it. He pulls you to your feet, offers a truce, and the two of you continue your walk. 

Megumi never bothers to let go of your hand. Instead, he laces his fingers with yours in his warm jacket pocket.

I don't really think it's fair to dismiss the idea that that guy might have been framed for killing the CEO as like an unfounded conspiracy theory when NYPD has a proven history of planting/fabricating evidence on people. in 2011 there was a massive investigation of the NYPD and hundreds of cases against people were dismissed after a former police officer testified that they literally have a name for planting evidence on people: flaking. you cannot be out here acting like considering the possibility that cops who do this shit under normal circumstances might possibly also do it when they're under intense global pressure and scrutiny is the same as republicans thinking democrats run a secret pedophile ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

The sun was just past setting when you and Yuji began the walk down the beach to meet up with friends for a bonfire. It’s a clear night, you can see the glow of the flames as you approach. The faint smell of smoke hits your nose at a distance as you grow closer. Waves crash softly in the background of your light conversation. It flows naturally; talking to Yuji is always easy.

When the two of you left the dorms earlier, it was a lot warmer. A cool summer breeze makes its way across the beach, giving you a chill. Yuji gives you his jacket, without asking. It’s warm, like him. It smells like him too. 

Some people are playing music, most are dancing or talking amongst themselves. A few friends wave as you arrive. You find an open spot on a log near the fire. Yuji sits by your side, pulling out the s’more materials you packed earlier. Each of you stabs a marshmallow and holds it towards the flames. Your knuckles brush together as you move closer to the coals, but neither of you pull away. 

It feels right.

The world moves around you, people dancing. Singing. But the two of you remain in your own little corner making messy desserts and laughing.

As the night winds down, Yuji wraps an arm around you, taking everything in as a memory to keep forever. Tonight was the night he realized how important you are in his life. How easy it is to just be happy with you.

The light of the embers flicker across your face and he watches in awe. You’re so beautiful to him and he’d love to spend every night with you if he could.

Fortunately for Yuji, you feel the same.
