Hello everyone! This is one of a few posts I'm thinking about doing theorizing what we might see in Sonic 4. The topic of the day: Amy Rose's origin in the movies. 

I've mentioned it in other posts, but our dear pink girl will need a stronger backstory, so here's my two cents.

I think Amy Rose will be a native of Little Planet.

For those who don't know what it is, Little Planet is a planetoid with special properties that appears punctually above Never Lake for approximately one month each year and disappears completely for the remaining eleven months. It first appears in Sonic CD.

It is so mysterious that it travels through space never specified where it can be found for the rest of the year, without being bound by gravitational fields, described as "a world that defies time" and "where past, present and future collide”. 

You heard right, Little Planet is a place where TIME TRAVEL is a reality. I even think that Ivo didn't die, but the explosion of the Eclipse cannon, with so much chaos energy, ended up sending him there, but that's a theory for another day.

The point is that Little Planet is extremely powerful and full of life and energy, to the point of creating its own flora and fauna and, in the context of the film, it can be filled with chaos energy and use it to mess with time and space. 

Not only does Little Planet have innate powers, but it is also where the Times Stones reside, which also appeared in Sonic CD, which is probably the reason why the place never stops.

The Times Stones are similar to the Chaos Emeralds in the “jewels with insane powers” ​​category. They are relics that allow their user to travel through time and re-write history to cause miracles to happen. No, you heard right, the Times Stones are 7 gems that can completely rewrite history, able to command time itself in order to cause miracles to happen. And yes, it is an insane power.

Knowing this, I theorize that, in the movies, Little Planet is inhabited by a population that learned to use the energy of chaos for temporal manipulation, such as the ability to see the future, the past, travel through time, among other things.

They would also have advanced technology, since in Sonic CD there are industrial hubs, high-tech cities on Little Planet and Amy's hammer is clearly technological in the post-credits.

I also believe that the people of Little Planet have a cultural philosophy of actions and consequences and the common good, similar to the honor and struggle of the echidnas that Knuckles possesses, rooted in the Times Stones and their social importance. Perhaps believing that one should not interfere in how life is and avoid selfish decisions in the name of a good future for all. This would give Amy a personal conflict, who is probably in a race against time to change destiny.

This next one may be a bit morbid, but I believe that the natives of the planetoid, and Amy, may have a very melancholic and beautiful view of life and death. After all, everyone's time comes to an end and this would be more present in a civilization so collectivist and guided by time.

The people of Little Planet may be great valuers of memories and, although the end comes for everyone, death should not be feared because it is natural and the memories, the love, will always be there. And love may even be one of the most important feelings for the people there. The Little Planet civilization may see love as the only thing that transcends time, perhaps wanting to spread it throughout the world the planet is in. In general, a balanced and pacifist society.

Which makes the eventual domination that it will possibly undergo in the fourth film even worse and more brutal.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 And The Issue Of Metal Sonic

So in Sonic CD we know Metal Sonic is defeated and regardless of ending is left on Little Planet until it returns. So when does Eggman retrieve Metal Sonic?

Some people would think it's in Sonic The Hedgehog 4, however there is a few problems with this. For starters all the characters are in their modern designs instead of their classic designs which are literal. Whether it be Sonic, Tails, Eggman, and of course Metal Sonic. So if canon this should take place later on in the timeline due to Metal showing up throughout the Classic Games, so this cannot be when Eggman retrieved Metal from Little Planet.

Some people think STH4 takes place right after STH3&K because of it's description of the Steam Page and App Store. This is because it says it takes place after STH3&K and calls it a sequel. However, the Japanese doesn't call it a sequel and says it's in the same vein of STH1 and STH3&K. But also, it wouldn't make sense to place it here either because STH3&K takes place right after STH2 which is implied to take place not long after Sonic CD. Meanwhile the Little Planet only shows up for one month a year.

So if this game is canon this would mean sometime in the modern era Eggman went to Little Planet to take it over again, failed and came back a year later to retrieve Metal who has his modern appearance and then the events of STH4 plays out.

Now for Classic Metal Sonic, how did Eggman retrieve him? Well in Sonic Mania we see Eggman get to the Little Planet using the Phantom Ruby and we fight Metal Sonic in this game. We also see him in the follow-up animation Sonic Mania Adventures. So Eggman probably retrieved Metal in this game and would go on to use him in future schemes. This would place games like Sonic Drift, Sonic Triple Trouble, and Knuckles' Chaotix after the events of Sonic Mania, since Metal shows up in these games and it is the same Metal Sonic.

Story of Sonic CD

Little Planet is a small, yet beautiful star. This star comes to the sky above the huge lake Never Lake for one month out of the year.

The planet is also known as the planet of miracles, and it is the home of the Time Stones, mysterious gems that can freely control time.

The Time Stones can turn a desert into a jungle, clean polluted lakes, and other time-crossing wonders.

It was the infamous genius scientist, Dr. Eggman, who took notice of them.

"Little Planet, the star where the Time Stones sleep, is just the right place for my fortress!" He secured Little Planet above Never Lake and began to build a huge fortress. He then set out to acquire all the Time Stones, control time at will, and achieve his ambition of world domination.

Meanwhile, Sonic, who knows nothing about this, goes to Never Lake to see Little Planet…

"What? Sonic's here? …Well, that's convenient."

Dr. Eggman's eyes lit up as he heard the report, with a fearless smile on his face.

Sonic ran over and saw Little Planet in disarray, secured by chains stretching from the rock. As he looked closer, he saw Dr. Eggman's face on the slope of the rock… "How dare you, Eggman!"

"This time, I will use my scientific capability to crush you! Then I will collect the Time Stones and conquer the world!"

Dr. Eggman ambushes him with a creepy smile and a blue flash of light that lurks in his shadow…

Sonic has easily crushed Dr. Eggman's ambitions, but will he be able to free Little Planet in front of him?

"It's okay! With a little courage, I can do anything!

Summer! Summer! It is a time of flowers and plants! It is a time to see so different colors. Wow! Right now, I can see lots of different color! Phrase from movie. So, it is a such a moment. Flower beds are very beautiful things. You can sit and watch what is growing on there. And it is flowers. And something green, as a fir tree, it can be also.

And, by the way, every flower bed – it is unique standalone planet. So, it has its own things to grow. At one flower bed you can see this flower, at another one - something different to grow. And they have a distance between near flowerbeds. It is like space. Distance. It is its own small unique world at every flower bed.

Happy 31st Anniversary, Sonic CD!

Today is the 31st Anniversary of

Sonic the Hedgehog CD or Sonic CD since it came to the US!

It has now been 31 years since Sonic the Hedgehog had went back in time to save the Little Planet from the clutches of Dr. Robotnik slash Eggman by finding the Time Stones!

Also, this game was the debut of the love interest of Sonic, Amy Rose,

and Metal Sonic, the copy of the original Sonic! We must all remember the epic race that Sonic had with him on Stardust Speedway!

Little Planet Has Appeared Several Times Since Sonic CD

So in the Sonic Twitter Takeover #6 - All Answers at 33:08 Amy is asked if she visits Little Planet when it reappears, which would be in reference to her visiting it since Sonic CD. When Amy answers her answer implied she has visited Little Planet not just one time but multiple times sense then. She also reestablishes it shows up for one month a year.

This would mean at least several years have passed since Sonic CD. This could also corroborate Sonic The Hedgehog 4's implications that modern Eggman has visited Little Planet at least twice since Sonic CD. Given Amy wouldn't have been able to visit any of those times without having to deal with Eggman it would have to be after those times. Also, given her wording she would have had to had visited sometime after Sonic Adventure.
