Sonic The Hedgehog 4 And The Issue Of Metal Sonic

So in Sonic CD we know Metal Sonic is defeated and regardless of ending is left on Little Planet until it returns. So when does Eggman retrieve Metal Sonic?

Some people would think it's in Sonic The Hedgehog 4, however there is a few problems with this. For starters all the characters are in their modern designs instead of their classic designs which are literal. Whether it be Sonic, Tails, Eggman, and of course Metal Sonic. So if canon this should take place later on in the timeline due to Metal showing up throughout the Classic Games, so this cannot be when Eggman retrieved Metal from Little Planet.

Some people think STH4 takes place right after STH3&K because of it's description of the Steam Page and App Store. This is because it says it takes place after STH3&K and calls it a sequel. However, the Japanese doesn't call it a sequel and says it's in the same vein of STH1 and STH3&K. But also, it wouldn't make sense to place it here either because STH3&K takes place right after STH2 which is implied to take place not long after Sonic CD. Meanwhile the Little Planet only shows up for one month a year.

So if this game is canon this would mean sometime in the modern era Eggman went to Little Planet to take it over again, failed and came back a year later to retrieve Metal who has his modern appearance and then the events of STH4 plays out.

Now for Classic Metal Sonic, how did Eggman retrieve him? Well in Sonic Mania we see Eggman get to the Little Planet using the Phantom Ruby and we fight Metal Sonic in this game. We also see him in the follow-up animation Sonic Mania Adventures. So Eggman probably retrieved Metal in this game and would go on to use him in future schemes. This would place games like Sonic Drift, Sonic Triple Trouble, and Knuckles' Chaotix after the events of Sonic Mania, since Metal shows up in these games and it is the same Metal Sonic.

Hey everyone!

Sonic 4 has a lot of tracks that "evoke" the old Genesis/Mega Drive soundchip, and this one is no exception. I will say that the drum samples are spot on here! This has a sing-song, carnival like feel to it, with bell synths and chorused main synths all throughout. The bass is a little buried in this track, but if you listen for it, you can hear that it's doing some nice work in the background. I think it would punch a little better if it had a sharper tone, but it works fine as is. This track is pleasant and fun, in a simple major key that sings its melody.

If Sonic Mania is considered the "True Sonic 4" because it takes place after Sonic 3 & Knuckles, then by that logic Sonic Heroes is the "True Sonic Adventure 3" because its story takes place after Sonic Adventure 2.

I mean, i understand it's important to listen to reviews and critiques from time to time, but this felt so cynical and really gave the impression of how much Sega lacked faith and respect for their own franchise.

While it was a bit of a ehh title, what with being advertised as a 'return to the Classics' when it really wasn't... It wasn't really that offensive? Like, yeah, it was obvious that the people working on it didn't know what they were doing (besides Senoue, but Senoue knew what he was doing - he just hadn't done Genesis style music for a long while), but it was inexpensive as a downloadable product and they ended it after the second episode.

It's advertizing is also a great showcase of how moronic the fanbase is. Just show it to Modern fans and make them realize hating Sonic has been around since Adventure was out.

Little Planet Has Appeared Several Times Since Sonic CD

So in the Sonic Twitter Takeover #6 - All Answers at 33:08 Amy is asked if she visits Little Planet when it reappears, which would be in reference to her visiting it since Sonic CD. When Amy answers her answer implied she has visited Little Planet not just one time but multiple times sense then. She also reestablishes it shows up for one month a year.

This would mean at least several years have passed since Sonic CD. This could also corroborate Sonic The Hedgehog 4's implications that modern Eggman has visited Little Planet at least twice since Sonic CD. Given Amy wouldn't have been able to visit any of those times without having to deal with Eggman it would have to be after those times. Also, given her wording she would have had to had visited sometime after Sonic Adventure.
