Hypothetical Super Forms Hypothesis

So in a previous post I've brought up the idea that Super Forms for characters like Sonic, Knuckles, and Amy are just Super Powers and not accessible unless they are on NorthStar Island. But it is possible this is not the case and there is an alternative answer.

In Sonic Twitter & TikTok Takeover #7 - All Answers at 8:46 they could very well be referring to the unique powers the Chaos Emeralds display specifically on NorthStar Island, Eggman even commenting on how it would be useful to slow Sonic down.

Second the Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Mighty and Ray being able to go super can be seen as something they can do, they just have canonically not done before. Think like how there is many endings to Shadow The Hedgehog, but only one canon ending.

This would also mean Knuckles' joke in Sonic Frontiers about becoming Super Knuckles is a possibility. But here is how I see it. Characters like Knuckles choose not to go Super, even using the Master Emerald. As he is shown to be very against people using the power of the Master emerald for any means. As he says in TailsTube #3 (feat. Knuckles), "it is not my place to use the Emerald's power. It is my job to protect it."

Meanwhile other characters don't seek out the emeralds because Sonic is the one who is on an adventure against Eggman, though the may grab one if they find one or are given one. Tails usually has an interest in them for machines, Rouge just likes jewels in general, etc. In addition, the others probably just rely on Sonic to get the job done if with the Emeralds, especially since he has the most experience with them excluding Shadow and Silver. But even they will at times just let Sonic do what he needs to do. Also, while Eggman seeks out the emeralds he can't use them to go super himself.

Now while Sonic Superstars says Tails, Knuckles, and Amy just get Super Powers, this seems to be just Sonic Team not wanting to call them Super Forms even though for all intents and purposes they are Super Forms. Similar to what is happening with Blaze and Trip. Also, Super forms don't have to have their appearance be changed to a golden hue. Aside from Blaze's being a pinkish red, Metal Sonic in his base form just has a yellow aura but this is still him going Super. Super Forms can even work differently from other characters like Mecha Sonic's which only lasts for a little bit.

Finally we do know a multiverse exists thanks to Sonic Speed Sim being canon, and also thanks to TailsTube #4 (feat. Amy Rose) the multiverse doesn't have universes like the Prime universe. In other words there can be universes where Sonic Friends have gone super.

In addition, because of Speed Sim, we know the Movie universe is part of this multiverse, and the Chaos Emeralds work differently. Whether is be the ability to create a Chili Dog going with the idea of turning thoughts into power, not being limited by rings , being limited on how long you can maintain a Super Form, or the fact Eggman can go super. This would mean there are other universes don't have to abide by the rules of the prime universe when it comes to the emeralds.

decided to delve a bit deeper into the history of italian women's football after watching the juventus-roma match yesterday. essentially, the italian women's football league has existed in some form or another since 1968 and there's evidence that women's teams have existed in italy since the 1930s.

from the league's inception, it was very common for female equivalents for the major men's football teams like milan, inter or roma to be set up as amateur teams playing in the women's league without any "official" corporate connection to the clubs themselves (the exception is lazio, which has been connected to the main sports club since 1975) - presumably, the people who created these teams were fans of the club themselves, and wanted to represent the club even if they couldn't play for their team officially (or wanted to take advantage of the built in fanbase that the men's club already had).

serie a was relatively successful from the 80s onwards and attracted many top talents like rose reilly, susanne augustesen, pia sundhage, lone hansen and others. this coincided with the italian national team's success in international tournaments.

rose reilly, who played for acf milan and susanne augustesen, who played for lazio. both were achieved top scorer during their time in serie a.

in 2018, FIGC introduced an obligation for men's clubs to either start their own women’s football academy or establish a formal link with an already existing senior women’s team. this came after a period of lackluster results from the italian women's national team, so the FIGC hoped that this policy of integration would ensure better facilities and development of female footballers. it was also hoped that this would result in greater visibility for women's football.

the official men's clubs were given an opportunity in 2018 to take over the license of amateur women's clubs to start their own official female clubs. many clubs simply took over the amateur female club which they had previously had no official connection with (such as inter or roma) or took over a completely different amateur women's club (such as juventus taking over cuneo) and subsequently renaming it.

the obvious criticism of the latter strategy is that it kills off well established women's clubs (like brescia, who had been very successful in both the italian league and europe, and subsequently had to start over in the regional leagues) and also kills off the amateur women's clubs that had previously been representing the official men's clubs.

serie a femminile has also been fully professional since the 2022/2023 season, ensuring that the players are fully paid - which is a welcome development for the growth of the league and women's football in italy as a whole.

From things like Hussie leaving and not wanting to be part of Homestuck, James Roach and his team takeover the project, creators of Vast Error are now joining in, June Egbert suddenly was planned all along without the Toblerone wish, Kanaya is upset that Rose cheated on Jade and had a secret kid with her for 13 years despite that in early pages it was said that Kanaya willingly agreed with this poly relationship, Rose using her powers to get Kanaya to forgive her easily, Jade is made out to be like a bitch because of her loneliness, making her the bad guy as the writers continue to shit on Jade's character, and the dark implication that Jade would have raped Rose in another timeline and still get Yiffany, Rose knew this with her Seer abilities but accepted it....

It was easy to think he'd been a hero this entire time. After all, with everyone backing him, Geno felt he'd been accomplished so much.

But, staring down his greatest enemy, making sure someone he cared for was safe, Geno wasn't sure if he was really meant to be a hero.

“Whatever happens, just hold onto me, Gaz. And don’t stare at the light for too long.”

Smithy had not taken being defeated well. Instead of falling, as the team had been expecting, the villain had doubled down. Burning red eyes seemed to narrow down on Geno as he stood once more. Declaring he wasn’t going to hide away in his factory any more. That this takeover needed a more direct touch. 

Starting with Rose Town.

Geno had never felt so cold before. 

Even with the fact they all practically left the portal at the same time, Smithy somehow got a lead. The party arrived in said town with it already on fire. Numerous troupes from Smithy’s gang rushed around and away once the heroes engaged. Mario called for everyone to spread out to help where they could. 

Geno was gone before the human finished. 

Sturdy footfalls carried him down a path he’d felt uneven walking on only a few days ago. Now only stumbling to avoid the crumbling homes and structures. Still focused on arriving at his destination as quickly as possible.

He shouldn’t feel so sick upon seeing the familiar house up in flames. But it took everything in him to not collapse at the sight. 

“Gaz!” the puppet desperately called out, “Gaz, where are you! Can you hear me? Gaz!” 

He flinched away as the fire flared up. Feeling as if his soul was crumbling away as the front started to collapse.

“GAZ!” 

“G-Geno?”

Relife he’d never felt before seemed to slam into his chest hearing the timid voice. A familiar small Toad just peeking out from the edge of the forest. Clearly terrified and covered with a bit of ash, but otherwise well.

“Gaz… Grambi Above, Gaz!” Gaining strength in his legs once more, Geno rushed over to said child. Feeling comfort by the weight he now carried in his arm. “You’re okay… Are you hurt? Where’s your mother? Where’s anyone?”

“W-We’re all in the forest,” Gaz sniffed weakly, “‘M okay. What’s h-happening?”

Geno faltered as he tried to figure out what he could say about this. “I…I wasn’t able to stop the bad guy fast enough. I’m sorry…”

“But you’re here to stop them now, right?”

“Yeah, yeah of course! I’m going to stop them before you can be hurt any further.”

“Awww, how charming.”

Gaz let out a fearful gasp as he hid away in Geno’s chest upon seeing the person towering behind said puppet. On his part, Geno instantly took a defensive position. One arm wrapped around the small Toad while he faced Smithy. The other was already holding out his weapon.

Said dictator seemed far more imposing with the fire burning casting heavy shadows over him. His eyes seemed to glow a deeper red. 

“How something so small could cause so much trouble. Do you want to know something interesting, Little Star?” Smithy asked smugly, “This little piece around my neck holds quite the informative side effect. I can hear every wish that’s been asked for. Every. Single. One. From every living being. Including Stars.”

The overlord chuckled as he watched Geno’s face fall in horror.

“You are quite the interesting being, Little Star. It all started off rather understandable. If not a little dry.”

‘I wish I knew what this stomach pain was.’

‘I wish I knew why I can’t keep my eyes open.’

‘I wish I could understand how people can keep going.’

“I suppose being mortal was a very strange change for you. Being physically tied down is tiring if you’re not used to it all. I’ll be honest, I grew bored of hearing from you after a while. Who wants to hear about wanting to be more ‘mortal’? Not I… Until your wishes turn into something…amazing.”

‘I wish I could tell Gaz how it’s going. He really likes this toy, I’m sure he misses it.’

‘I wish I knew what it was like to have a home. It seems so wonderful to have a place to just relax.’

‘I wish I could enjoy cake every day!’

‘I wish Mallow could keep his smile on his face forever, he deserves to.’

‘I wish Bowser would just admit he likes being around us.’

‘I wish I didn’t feel so nervous around Peach.’

‘I wish I could be as calm as Mario is.’

‘I wish I could be as easy around Mario as Peach is.’

‘I wish I knew why my soul beats so fast when I look at Mario.’

‘I wish I could tell him how I feel.’

‘I wish I was brave enough to tell him how I feel.’

‘I wish I could stay.’

Geno didn’t mean to tighten his grip on Gaz. But hearing his own wishes mockingly repeated back to him was terrifying.

“How absolutely pathetic,” Smithy growled out. Hefting up his hammer to be held in both hands. “If you want to be a mortal, if you want to play the hero, then you need to experience all of it. Even the not so friendly side. You don’t get to pretend.”

“You get to watch this little village burn before I move onto the next town, and the next one. I’m going to make sure you feel the full force of being mortal before I crush you. If you want to act as a hero, prepare to feel failure. Starting with that child.”

The fears he felt were quickly replaced with protective rage. Gaz’s eyes widened in amazement as the weapon pointed at Smithy started to hum. Seeming to suck in light at the tip as a large orb of light began to appear. The multiple colors merge to become white. 

“Gaz…”

Said Toad’s attention went to Geno’s face, who was glaring Smithy down.

“Whatever happens, just hold onto me. And don’t stare at the light for too long.”

At that, Gaz buried his face into Geno’s chest. Just before the charged beam was released.

Geno could feel the child flinch as the hum of said attack was released, seeming to mute the area with how loud it was. Smithy moved quick enough to raise the head of the hammer to act as a shield. Feet digging into the ash covered ground as he was pushed back. When he came to a stop, the leader let out a huff followed by a heavy chuckle. 

“Well, well, touched a nerve have I?” Smithy smirked, standing once more.

“You have no room to make such threats. I will make you regret those words.” Geno’s voice was cold and unwavering as he stared Smithy down.

“Your little stun gun may pack a punch. But you’re going to need more than that.”

Gaz, who had peeked out, panicked further when the ground began to shake. Letting out a small but terrified scream of surprise as Bowser basically barreled into Smithy. Geno quickly wrapped his other arm around the Toad. The steely anger melted away slowly as he realized it was the rest of the party. Peach and Mallow rushed to help Bowser while Mario drew closer to Geno.

“Hey, are you okay?” Mario asked, “We saw your beam and-”

“He threatened Gaz.” Is what Geno was able to choke out. 

The human’s eyes went down to said Toad, who was still clutched close to Geno. Mario offered a comforting smile while gently pulling Gaz away from Geno’s death grip. Silently gesturing to keep the puppet calm before addressing the child. 

“Do you know where everyone else is?” 

“I-In the forest.” Gaz sniffed.

“Okay, do you think you can find everyone on your own?”

“Uh huh.” 

“I need you to go back in then. Geno needs to know you’re safely away from here so he can focus on fighting.”

Gaz looked back up to Geno. The puppet was able to give a very short nod of agreement in his numb stupor. 

The Toad turned back to Mario, “You’ll keep Geno safe, right?”

“I’ve been doing well so far. You can trust me.”

That seemed good enough for Gaz as he finally turned to rush back into the foliage. 

With that taken care of, Mario’s focused on Geno. Who still hadn’t really moved.

“Hey, Geno, I need you to talk to me.”

Moving slowly, Mario reached out to take Geno’s hands in his own. That caused the puppet to fully jerk out of his stunned silence. Amber eyes taking in his surroundings once more.

“Hey, yeah, it’s me, you’re okay,” Mario gave a small chuckle, “First time threats are not fun.”

That sent another jolt of remembrance to strike Geno. Who now scanned to find a familiar form. “Gaz, are they-”

“Back in the forest. He’s safe. Think you’re okay to fight?”

Geno looked down at their clasped hands for a moment before addressing Mario.

“Yeah, let’s finally end this.”

Prince Mallow, Representative of Nimbus Land, in the Flower Kingdom

Continuing his journey, which began in the Beanbean Kingdom, to explore the rest of the world and its variety of cultures, Prince Mallow traveled past the Rose Way region of the Mushroom Kingdom and crossed the border into the Flower Kingdom. There, he was greeted by the friendly local Poplins, the spiral-striped patterns of the petals in their flower caps reminding Mallow particularly of the more circular striped patterns he'd seen on the mushroom caps of Rose Way native Toads.

Mallow met the local prince, Florian, who was more than happy to meet another mutual friend of the Mushroom Kingdom's Super Mario and Princess Peach, who allegedly, among other friends, saved Florian's kingdom from a hostile takeover by Bowser and his troops. While Mallow had gotten to know Bowser on a more personal level when the two along with Mario, Peach, and the star-possessed doll Geno teamed up to defeat an even greater foe; he understood that the Koopa King was ordinarily a hostile conqueror who was frequently at odds with the likes of Mario and Peach. As such, he said not a word to counter any bad thoughts Florian had of Bowser, despite having seen some of his more redeeming qualities, as he understood fully that Florian wasn't really wrong.

Mallow enjoyed exploring the kingdom and its locals, as well as learning about its vast ecosystem of different forms of flowers and how they shaped the culture around them. He explored a diverse land of open planes and lush forests with refreshing waterscapes, fluffy cloud regions that reminded him of his homeland (albeit much pinker), hot desert dunes with reminders of an ancient civilization, and even a deep fungal forest full of old mining tunnels and a burning lava bog around a dormant volcano. All of these surrounded a beautiful archipelago that acted as the hub of Poplin community life.

The Nimbus prince partook in local entertainment and music activities, tried the local foods, and even did some adventuring alongside Florian with the Flower Kingdom's regional power-ups and badges. Mallow's favorite badges are the ones that improve jumping skills, as he loves the feeling of being able to jump as great as Mario. Mallow and Florian happily continue to keep in touch and maintain relations between their respective kingdoms.

Notes: I'm a sucker for reunion fics and I've been playing around with this idea for years now. After much procrastination, I figured the best way to get me to finish writing the thing was to jump in and start posting. Hope you like it!

 

Work Summary: As a weary Doctor, Martha Jones and Jack Harkness prepare to take on the Master, they find their hideout isn't as secure as they thought.

In a burst of blue light, a dimension hopping Rose Tyler finally finds the Doctor, but time is still not on their side.

What if you only had one night to spend with the love of your life?

Chapter 1

The rumbling in Jack’s stomach interrupted his attempt at hacking into the Master’s digital database.  He glanced up to see if Martha had heard, and sure enough, she was looking at him with raised eyebrows. 

“Bit hungry?” she asked from where she was perched on one of the chairs they’d scavenged. 

“More than a little,” Jack acknowledged as he leaned back for a stretch.  “God, I’d kill for something hot and fried right now.”

“Mmm, yeah,” Martha sighed, “I’m so hungry I think I’d even eat Mum’s cooking.  And she’s never met a vegetable she hasn’t boiled into mush.”  Jack chuckled along with her, but neither of them really had their hearts in it.  

It had been a long, rough day for both of them.  

Was it really only this morning that Jack had finally caught up with the Doctor again?  He tried to calculate the hours, but it was as much of a hopeless task as it had always been when time travel was involved.  He hadn’t slept or eaten more than half a protein pack since he’d hitched a ride to the end of the universe, and being immortal unfortunately didn’t prevent him from hunger pangs or the affects of sleep deprivation.  If he listened to his body, he figured it had been about a day, Earth time.  Two at the most.     

The fact that he was already loosing track of his usual twenty-four-hour cycle wasn’t surprising.  That was typical when adventuring with the Doctor.  That man sucked you right into a different sort of reality.  Running for their lives and helping the last sentient life in the universe seek Utopia was par for the course.  Despite a complicated history the Doctor and Jack had needed to work out, he’d been having a hell of a good time.  At first.

But then the bumbling professor Yana had opened up an old pocket watch and everything had gone to hell.   In some ways it was a miracle - another survivor of the Time War.  But out of all the billions of refugees who could have survived, it’d had to be the Master - an utterly insane Time Lord who’d stollen the TARDIS, taken over the government, and captured Martha’s family.  The poor woman was beside herself waiting to learn what had become of them.  Jack knew it had killed her to run away when her parents were being hauled into that van.  He could relate.  His own sort of family, his Torchwood team, were MIA and his guts clenched when he thought of what the Master had done to them.   Even the Doctor could barely hide how all this was pushing him towards that edge he always danced around.  Jack had seen him go over it only once before, when they’d thought the Anne Droid had vaporized Rose Tyler.  He never wanted to see his old friend go there again.  The problem for all of them was that the Master had shown himself to be very good at hitting them where it hurt.  

So, here they were - holed up in this abandoned warehouse.  Hunted, anxious, and left with limited time and resources.  The Master had had eighteen months to put together a government takeover and whatever other schemes the madman had planned.  Jack doubted the three of them even had days to come up with a way to stop him.  It was very likely that humanity was on the brink of peril.     

Jack was so distracted by his thoughts that he almost flinched when Martha spoke again.

“Have you found anything?” she asked, getting up to look over his shoulder at the computer screen.        

“Almost there, I think,” he reported as he pushed his unease aside to resume working on Martha’s laptop.  “Tosh is usually the one to do this kind of thing, but I’m not too shabby at it.”   

“Tosh?” Martha asked confused.

“Oh, she’s part of my team at Torchwood.  Great with computers.  Gets along better with tech than people most of the time…And, hang on…BINGO!  I’m in!” Jack leant closer to the screen as he searched for various key words in the database.  “Oh yeah!” he said with relief, “Torchwood Four was sent off to the Himalayas.  Well that explains why they wouldn’t pick up the phone.  But hey, I’ll take it!  Better sent on some wild goose chase then mixed up in all this at ground zero.”  The knots in his stomach loosened a fraction as he plowed into a new search.

  “Aaaaand…” he said to stall as he clicked through a few folders, “Here we are, Martha!  Looks like Mom, Dad, and Sister have all been taken into custody for ‘questioning.’  They aren’t hurt though.  Just in custody.  See there’s some video footage.  And…” he scrolled down to make sure, “No mention of Leo,” he winked at her.

Martha seemed to take heart from that, “Guess he’s not as daft as I thought!” she laughed.  “My god, I’m talking about my brother on the run.  How did this happen?  And where is the Doctor?  He said he’d be right back.”

“Still setting up a security perimeter, I guess.  Though he’s certainly taking his time about it.”  Jack had the suspicion the “security perimeter” was really more an excuse for the Doctor to get some air and collect his thoughts.  God forbid the Time Lord showed an emotion in front of the humans, Jack thought with a smirk.        

“Maybe he can get some takeout while he’s at it.  I’m starving,” Martha plopped down on top of a large crate next to the fire they’d started in an old barrel.  

“So we’re back to food again?” Jack asked, shooting Martha a playful look to try and ease the lines of tension on her face.     

“Oh, I don’t know,” Martha chuckled, “I’m caught between fantasizing about it and trying to think of anything else.  Same goes for sleep.”

“Yeah I -” 

A flash of blue light illuminated the warehouse and the sharp sound of static filled the air.  Jack’s body reacted without thought, his training taking over as he leapt to his feet and moved into position to protect Martha.    

“Stay back!” he hissed at her as he stepped forward and pulled the gun from the holster at his hip.  The Doctor had disarmed it hours ago, but the intruder emerging from the crackling light wouldn’t know that.  It could still be a handy negotiating tool.  

“Hands up!” Jack barked as the light faded to reveal a humanoid who was still facing away from them.  His brain, now cleared from the fog of exhaustion, took a mere fraction of a second to catalogue the threat.  The figure was small, dressed in contemporary clothes and had shoulder length bleach blonde hair. He though he saw a flash of metal, maybe a small weapon strapped to her belt, but her hands were empty.  The figure had stumbled when she first appeared, but now was standing completely straight with her hands in the air.  There was something familiar about her posture though…

Then she spoke. “Jack?” 

He nearly dropped the gun when he heard that voice.  

But…it couldn’t be.  It was just traveling with Doctor again - she’d been on his mind was all.  He was tired and hungry and his mind was playing tricks on him.

“Who’s asking!” it was more a command for identification than a question.

“Oh my god!  Jack!” the figure turned around and this time Jack did drop the gun in favor of the blue and yellow blur that ran into his arms.

“Rosie?” he said amazed as his arms automatically folded around her.  His brain that had worked so quickly moments earlier slowed down as he tried to process this.  It was Rose.  Rose Tyler.  Rose Tyler had appeared out of nowhere in a supposedly secure building and was now in his arms hugging him hard enough that he’d be worrying about breathing if he was still mortal.  This wasn’t supposed to be possible.  The Doctor had said…ah, but then this wouldn’t be the first time the Time Lord had underestimated her.

“Oh god Jack, I’ve missed you!  But how are you here?  I thought you had di-,” seeming to catch herself, Rose stepped back out of his embrace, folded her arms, and looked him over.

“When is it for you?” she asked cautiously.  Looks like she’d kept her time traveling skills sharp, he thought grinning.

“Long after the Game Station,” he replied.  Just from a quick once over, Jack could tell that this Rose was a little older and a lot harder then when he’d seen her last, so it must have already happened for her too.  Still, a little caution wouldn’t hurt.  “And you?”

Rose stared at him in astonishment shaking her head slightly, “But Jack,” she said, “How are you here?  On Earth, right?  That’s where we are?  Oh Jack, you died!  The Daleks…”

“Yeah well, didn’t stick,” he shrugged, “Takes more than a fleet of pepper pots to kill me.  Although, I mostly have you to thank for that, sweetheart,” he winked.  “And as for why I’m here, well that’s a long story.  But the short of it is, I used my vortex manipulator to go back in time and then the damn thing burned out. Been looking for you and the Doc ever since.”

Rose’s face fell, “So we left you?  On that ship, all alone?  Jack, I’m so sorry!”

“Hey,” he said resting a hand on her shoulder, “You didn’t know.” And it was true. She hadn’t known.  Jack wondered what story the Doctor had told her to make her think he’d died.  He wondered how much she knew about her part in it all.   “And hey,” he assured her, “I’ve done alright for myself, don’t worry.”    

 She nodded and offered him a small smile, “Good Jack, that’s good.” 

She took a deep breath as if steeling herself for something.  “The Doctor…we got separated,” she admitted, eyes drifting away from his.  “I have no idea where he is, Jack.  I’ve been looking for him too.  For so long…” she looked so tired and Jack wondered what she’d been through in that parallel universe.  

“Yeah, well I may be able to help you with that.”  Her eyes snapped back to his as he continued, “Me and the lovely Miss Martha Jones here,” he gestured to Martha who was still standing a few steps behind him, “are hiding out in this stinking old warehouse because we are currently number two and three of Britain’s most wanted.”

“Two and three…” Rose said slowly, working it out, “and…Number One?”

“He’ll be back any minute,” Jack said smiling, overjoyed to be the person who got to give her the news that her search was over.  It looked like it had been a rough one for her.      

“Jack,” she said half laughing and shaking her head in astonishment before leaping back into his arms. He swung her around a few times until he faced Martha who had remained very still and quiet the last couple of minutes.  

“While we’re waiting on his Time Lordiness…Rose Tyler, meet Martha Jones.  Martha Jones, Rose Tyler.” 

Rose turned to face Martha.  Jack held his breath, wondering how this would play out.  There was a tense moment as both women sized each other up before Martha stepped forward, offering her hand, “Good to meet you,” she said perhaps a touch too formally, “The Doctor talks about you all the time.”

“He…he does?” Rose took Martha’s hand, but glanced back at Jack as if for confirmation, “He mentioned me?”

“Er…yeah,” Martha said stiffly, “Won’t shut up about you sometimes.”

“I…I didn’t think he’d…,” Rose began before breaking out in a wide grin as she gripped Martha’s hand in a firm shake, “Good to meet you too, Martha Jones!  I bet you’ve had a time of it, keeping those two blokes in line.  How long have you all been traveling together?”

“Er…” Jack’s heart really did go out to Martha as she struggled to keep her composure.  “Well, first it was just me and the Doctor - that was for, oh I don’t know, bout a year?”

“It’s hard to keep track,” Rose sympathized.

“Yeah, it is,��� Martha agreed, “And, well, I just met Jack actually…”  

Before she could finish, a rain-slicked Doctor bounded through the doors already jabbering, “Alright, that should do it.  This is now a surveillance free zone!  We’ll be able to keep here safely until…”

Jack could tell the exact moment the Doctor noticed Rose.  If he lived to be five-billion years old, he was sure he’d never forget the utterly gobsmacked look on the Time Lord’s face.

Why is knuckles being a continuous part of the cast not a problem but it is with amy? she has more of a reason to be around sonic than he does.

My advice for a situation like this is to stop paying attention to the people you are around that say things like this. I'm pretty sure you just slid three back to back "what's wrong with Amy Rose?" questions into my inbox in two days, and I don't mean to make you feel embarrassed or anything like that. But I've always been fair to Amy, I feel.

Like, to be honest I don't entirely love Amy Rose as a character, and I especially think she's lost and directionless nowadays because they detoxified her personality and now she needs something else to obsess over (they even joked about it during an official Sega event recently, like Tailstube or the Twitter takeover, where they prodded her about suddenly being way into tarot now out of the blue).

But I think she's okay to have around. I'm not offended she's in so many games and stuff. It kind of makes sense to me. I mean, they've been pushing her as part of the core team since Sonic Boom, a game that will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024. It's not a new development. She's been Important™ to the group for kind of a long time now.

What if this rumor was true?

Yeah, I think this is a joke. But what if it wasn’t. Sonic X Shadow Generations showed that it worked very well. But what if they gave Sonic Heroes a remake like that? The Original Game and something additional. The question remains, what can be added to the original game that would make it more valuable?

1 - Original Level Layouts

A big flaw of Sonic Heroes is that while there are numerous variations, they are basically the same level layouts for each team. You’ll be playing the same 14 stages four times. 8 enemy rushes. 8 of the flying boss in 2 variations, and the Egg Emperor four times. And that sounds boring. We could definitely change it up. Here’s how I’ll do it...

Team Sonic - Level Designs are the most directly the same as the original. 

Team Dark - Since they are supposed to be harder versions of the Sonic Levels, make them harder by being more unique so players who got used to the Sonic Levels won’t expect the new challenges in Dark’s.

Team Rose - In the original, they were the Easy Mode. I think they should be more puzzle based so you would have to use each specific skill creatively to get past certain obstacles. It makes them bring something more unique to the groups.

Team Chaotix - They are missioned based, so their stages should play up on that. For example, the finding stuff missions play more similarly to the Open Zones of Sonic Frontiers. Or the Stealth Missions making it difficult to try to remain out of sight.

2 - Gameplay Engine

They would probably use their current Hedgehog Engine for this. I would say go for it, but don’t have the dashing option. No holding a button to get a big burst of speed. I think it could work as Frontiers showed it can. Probably add some new bosses to at least remove the Enemy rushes and second flying bird ship. Maybe a new team battle with the characters who don’t interact: Team Chaotix Vs Team Sonic and Team Rose Vs Team Dark

3 - New Modes

Of course the big selling point would be the new modes. So what would those new modes be?

Solo Mode - Play Sonic from Sonic Frontiers in the Team Dark Levels. The Dash Button, his ability to do all the moves he can do in that game. Metal Madness boss Fight similar to the Sonic Frontiers. There'll be no story connected to this, it’ll just be for fun.

Mix and Match - Want a team consisting of Amy, Tails and Vector? Want to use only the Flying Characters? Think it’ll be fun to do the Puzzle Levels as Team Dark? This is the mode for you. It’ll let you play as any character on any level. And they’ll be unique dialogue depending on certain team ups.

4 - New Teams

And the other bigger selling point? New Teams. For this one, I am going to make each team go through a random set of the Levels while they get their own cutscenes. So what would these teams be? Here are a few ideas...

Team Eggman - Metal Sonic will be Speed, Sage will be Flight and Eggman will be Power. Sage was reviewing past Eggman takeover plans when she noticed a specific period of time that Eggman was disposed of despite being the threat. That’s when Eggman told her about Metal Sonic’s takeover. She wonders how close was Metal in defeating Sonic? What if Eggman wasn’t disposed of? What if she was there? So she enters her mind and simulates Eggman, Metal and herself going through this situation. When a cutscene is supposed to play, she would take notes on what mistakes Metal did and make improvements on. In the end, she deemed it too random. It only seemed to serve only one purpose: to make Metal Sonic stronger. She figures there are easy ways to do this.

Silver - Silver went back in time and sadly too far back. He’s now in the Sonic Heroes timeline and has to find a way back home. And he figured the Chaos Emeralds could help with that. Unlike the other characters, he can play all three roles and switch between them. 

And characters for Mix and Match mode. This could be the DLC additions.

Blaze - Speed or Flight

Marine - Power

Sticks - Speed

Surge - Speed

Kitsunami - Power

Jet - Speed

Wave - Fight

Storm - Power

Tangle - Speed

Whisper - Flight

Lanolin - Power

The dude behind the X-Men Blue Origins retcon should have been the last person in the X-Office's writing staff to do anything for Nightcrawler's character

Because he had Destiny's prophecy state that Nightcrawler joining the X-Men wasn't something they saw coming to try and make every single time he stopped Mystique's brotherhood not feel like the biggest plothole in his Swiss cheese of a rewrite

When Nightcrawler not only needed the X-Men's help to stop both of Azazel's takeovers, but if the X-Men weren't there or a thing to begin with, he would be dead by the time he first faced off against the Brotherhood or Azazel : His first comicbook appearance in Giant Sized X-Men literally has him nearly die to an angry mob with no hope of saving himself if Xavier didn't intervene and have him join the X-Men

The X-Men (and Xavier) are the only reason Nightcrawler even lived past his 20s

How the hell was this dude given the task to write for Nightcrawler when he doesn't even seem aware of his first comicbook appearance in the very book that set the X-Men up as one of the most iconic superhero teams of all time

It's annoying isn't it? Nightcrawler was never written to be this chosen one involved in prophecies. I hate it when media takes characters like him who are just heroes of circumstance and then create a convoluted backstory about how they're the chosen one.

It's like how Hasbro tries to retcon Optimus as being one of the original 13 Primes but got reincarnated as a younger bot which is just so ridiculous to me, his character makes more sense as a young bot who rose up to be a hero not someone who was there at the start of it all. It's like saying "Yeah Spider-man was this obscure hero during the time of the Invaders but he got reincarnated into Spider-man"

Though knowing marvel they'd probably do that.
