Remember this imagine? Itâs a fic now.
As the final bell of the day rang, Lucille skipped over to Masumiâs desk.
âHeyyyy, um, do you wanna stop by Veludose on our way home?â She asked with feigned nervousness.
âNo.â He deadpanned.
âBrutal!â
âWhy would you get a coffee this late?â
âFor funsies! They offer decaf if thatâs not what youâre into.â
âDonât care. No.â
âCome on! Not even for your favorite troupe member? Not even because you love me?â
âI donât love you.â He said with a pointed look.
âOw!â
Even still, Lu took in a deep breath. There was no way around it, she supposed.
âSakuya said he picked up a job there and had a shift today, so I figured we could visit him. You know, because why not?â She really didnât want to admit this, evident by the deep blush on her face.
ââŠIâll go.â
âYouâll go for Saku but not for me?â She asked, a little disappointed.
âThatâs not what I said.â He replied, breaking eye contact as he slipped on his headphones.
Lucille sighed. It was good enough. She took Masumiâs hand as he absentmindedly flipped through his phone, dragging him to the coffee shop.
When they arrived, they were greeted with a âWelcome in! Oh, hey, you two!â
âHey Saku!â Lu echoed, waving cheerfully at him. The shop was pretty empty this late in the afternoon, giving them just enough time to talk.
âWhat are you guys doing here?â He asked, glancing behind Lucille to find a half-asleep Masumi she was now holding by the wrist.
âNo reason, just thought it would be nice to stop by.â She said with a smile.
âShe came to see you.â Masumi piped up, suddenly wide awake.
Lucille stiffened, the grip on Masumiâs wrist tightening ever so slightly. Sakuya could only giggle.
âReally? Iâm so glad! Thanks!â
There it was. That radiant smile. Lu had to turn away just to not be blinded by it.
ââŠyouâre welcome.â she muttered.
By this point, a few customers had joined the line, prompting the trio to actually do what they came for.
After a small debacle over Lu forgetting her wallet and bothering Masumi to pay, the two sat down in a cozy corner flanked by a few windows. Lu awkwardly wrung her hands, unsure about how to tackle the conversation she wanted to have as Masumi stared out over the city streets, his fingers drumming on the table.
âMasumi?â
He snapped out of his daze, glaring at her.
âWhat?â
Yikes. He could be scary when he wanted to be.
âCan I⊠tell you about something?â She asked anxiously.
âYeah, sure.â He took off his headlines. Thank God, he actually did care about her.
âItâs about Sakuya.â
âWhat about him?â
âI,â oh, this was much more difficult than she thought. Lucille sucked in a breath, bracing herself. âI think Iâm in love with him.â
âYou think?â Masumi cocked his head ever so slightly.
âLu, Masumi! Your orderâs ready!â Sakuya called, glancing around the cafe for them.
âSpeak of the devil.â Masumi said, standing up with Lu to retrieve their drinks.
The two thanked him(Lucille more energetically than Masumi), and went back to their seats.
Looking down, Masumi couldnât help but notice an extra item. A slice of chocolate cake. He frowned at Lu, hoping she wasnât draining his wallet, to which she only grinned.
âSaku said it was on the house. You wanna share?â
Masumi stared at the cake like it was poison for a moment before shaking his head.
ââs fine. You can have it.â
âReally?â
âYeah.â
âYay!â She cheered, digging in.
âBut about SakuyaâŠâ
Lucille froze. Right. She finished her bite of cake with a hard swallow.
âMm⊠so, I think itâs love, but I canât be sure, yâknow? Like, yeah, I like seeing him smile, and his hair is fluffy and nice to play with, and he gives good hugs, and heâs a really good person, and-â
âSounds like love to me.â Masumi interrupted.
âRight? But does that really constitute love? What if itâs just admiration? Or, uh, whatâs it called? A squish?â Lu rambled, flailing her hands about.
âYouâve been friends for months. That doesnât count as one.â He responded, taking a long sip of his espresso.
âBut I wanna be so much closer to him, are you sure thatâs not just platonic?â
âPositive.â
Lucille stared into the abyss of her latte, her expression sinking. It couldnât be, could it? She just wanted to know him better, to watch him act more. To keep him in her arms. To spend evenings by his side in a comfortable silence. Thereâs no wayâŠ
After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke.
âIâll think about it.â She said softly, taking a sip of her drink.
âBy the way, do you think we canât see that stupid grin you have when you look at him?â Masumi inquired cooly.
Lu almost choked.
âDonât!â
âDonât what?â For the first time, Masumi smiled, a sly smirk adorning his features.
âJust donât.â She pouted, taking a proper sip.
âSure.â

Can't remember if you've talked about this a lot before so, hi, anything about Kris and Jan's relationship? Very curious, I love them!!
oh YES actually ive been dying to talk about them more lol since i couldnt fit any more backstory for them into holidate so let me just *cracks knuckles* tell you their whole deal actually
SO. basically the idea for how they met, got together, became best friends etc was this:
- they met as teens, probably were in the same class
- they discovered they had a lot of similar interests, same humour, very quickly got along really well and became really close friends
- they also both at that point had started to figure out their sexuality, but weren't open about it at all bc like. homophobia in school is no joke.
- at first that also meant they werent out to each other bc oh god what if i tell him and he thinks im disgusting and then he doesnt want to be my friend anymore and also outs me to the whole school and everyone will know
- im not sure exactly what happened but one of them wouldve accidentally found out about the other, the other wouldve panicked, but then like oh shit damn okay we're both queer?? nice!!
- if youve been a queer teen in an almost exclusively cishet environment and suddenly there was another queer teen, you probably know the experience of getting a crush on them partly literally just bc theyre also queer. so that happened.
- basically they were each others first queer relationship and did their first experimenting with each other etc
- they did however realised that hey actually? maybe romance isnt for them. maybe they just have a really deep friendship and they do love each other, just not like that - and that realisation is definitely 100% mutual from the start btw, no heartbreak for either of them, just relief
- so basically they just break off the romantic relationship and stay best friends etc etc
since then, jan has also been in kris' family and stuff like miha and chantal both love jan and treat him like a son. kris definitely first introduced him as a friend, and then came out to his parents with jan as his boyfriend and they werent thrilled but also not hateful. but they were relieved (at first) when they just went back to friends
idk if jan and kris still occasionally experimented or slept together or idk? i guess theyd definitely feel comfortable and secure enough with each other but ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
overall (to me) theyre definitely a little more than just best friends but on a very platonic basis. they have a lot of love for each other, theyd kill and die and pretty much do anything for each other, its a very very deep and powerful friendship
oh also, its been mentioned in the fic that they regularly sleep over and also they sleep in the same bed and cuddle and all that, like thats all part of the previous statement. platonic intimacy and all that.
ummmmmm this was kinda just a very long ramble and idk how much of that last bit made sense buy heres some jankris extra lore for you <3
#basically best friends who are platonically in love#if they didnt both still seek out romantic relationships with others they would get married for tax benefits and grow old together#inbox#anonymous#lore

I know this is super random and like a year late, but as the consummate marichat fan, what were your thoughts on Elation?
first of all, apparently there are two definitions of the word âconsummateâ and until now i only knew the first one. HDNSND
second, i have many thoughts about elation but they are honestly kind of mixed and jumbled!!! On one hand, WHAT AN EPISODE!!!!! it still feels like a fever dream lmao. marichat fell in love and went on a cute little date and he took her up way in the sky with his baton carrying her princess style and then they tangoâd over to andreâs and wanted to get Love ice cream and then they had the CUTEST KISS EVER!!!!! nose kiss cheek kiss lip kiss combo are you kidding. Are you KIDDING me. then he was trying to be respectful and not take advantage??? đ and she got AKUMATIZED bc she wanted to keep kissing him so bad??? HDJDJD and then the angsty second kiss to break her free omfggggggg people died (im people). the little moment at the end too when they agree to go their separate ways but hug like good friends who are in love. Waaaaa my heart. It was all really really good. I loved it. When I first watched it I kept having to pause and pace around like a madman fhsndn
On the other hand, it was so different from my personal vision of marichat that I wasnât totally sure how to feel! The essence Marichat to me has always been a friends-to-lovers slowburn, so âsin shipâ stuff or fics where they very quickly fall into a relationship against their better judgment have never been my cup of tea. And this episode felt like sort of a tamer, canon-appropriate version of that? It came on so fast and was over just as quickly. marichat ended up being just a one-night fling, basically. which is fine because I i always figured it wouldnât play a big role in the plotâwe got wayyyy more marichat than I ever expected to get! So Iâm grateful! I donât want to look a gift horse in the mouth haha. But at the same time I couldnât help but feel sort of disappointed in how it all played out. because while Iâve always been rooting for reverse crush development, I never truly wanted a âlove square flipâ in the sense of them completely switching love interests from ladrien to marichat. That idea never felt super authentic to the characters to me. I feel like OG crush is so baked in to the love square, you know? This probably sounds rich coming from such a loud annoying marichat stan lmao but I always think of them as still being partly in love with OG crush underneath it all, even if marichat are together.
Anyway, i guess I just had a hard time processing it at all because I had a very specific vision/preference for how I wanted the love square to play outâwhich was basically, reverse crush develops simultaneously with OG crush and they have to figure out how to deal with being in love with two people at once, and then at the reveal they get the relief of knowing it was always the same person all along, and of course they fell for them twice. Idk to me that would be the most satisfying culmination of the love squareâone of the most interesting romantic plot elements Iâve ever seen! And thatâs not how the show writers decided to go. Which is OK. We got so much good love square and there will be more to come. I really have been trying to let go of what was always just my personal preference for the LS. But at the time I couldnât help but feel it was sort of wasting a lot of potential by going in this direction. And that did kind of sour my experience watching elation. marichat was set up and discarded so quickly, as if to both satisfy the fans and also shut them up lol. like âhere, you got your marichat, you animals. and now that door is permanently closed bc we just proved how it would never work.â Hahaha. And tbh maybe that was a necessity! Like the closure of that possibility.
All in all elation was an amazing episode. It just made me sort of sad at the end, watching marichat die within minutes of becoming canon. also at the time there were a bunch of marichat stans being kind of obnoxious and salting on ladrien which also dampened the mood a lot for me. So I felt weirdly sad for a while after watching it, even tho it was such an exciting ride that Iâd been looking forward to. I guess I just keep thinking âyes this is what I wanted!! âŠexcept not like this tbhâ
lol Iâm so entitled Im sorryïżœïżœ.we ate SO good. Elation will always be iconic. Weredad is still my all-time favorite episode though! :)

Hi, it's me again... Back from the dead...
Listen I know Christmas is over, and we're halfway into the first month of the New Year, but I still want to finish this Christmas fic. Better late than never I guess... ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
I'm really sorry about the delay. I've been suffering from a serious writer's block. That's when I realized I suck at writing romance. I've done my best thoughts. Hope you'll like it And thank to @sharksinflowercrowns again for inspiring this fic and everything else...
Deck the Halls of Wittebane Manor...
CHAPTER FIVEâŠ
"LUZ!" A purple haired girl came running towards Luz as soon as she entered the market with her brother, on the next day.
"Sweet potato!" Luz immediately held out her arms as her girlfriend practically launched herself into them. "Oh I'm so happy to see you!"
Hunter stood there nearby, watching the romantic reunion of the two girlfriends. Luz and her girlfriend, Amity, were always like this. It was a little too romantic for his liking. He rolled his eyes seeing them being so mushy but a hint of an affectionate smile remained on his face.
"Alright girls, this is where I take your leave." He cleared his throat, partly to remind them that he was still standing there. "You can go wherever you want and do whatever you like as long as you don't cause any trouble. I'm heading off to get some supplies for the renovation. Good bye." He waved slightly and started walking away in the opposite direction.
Amity sighed, rolling her eyes. "Good to see you too, Hunter." She said sarcastically, still holding onto her girlfriend.
"Don't mind him⊠You know how he is." Luz shrugged watching her brother disappear into the crowd. "Now come on, we have so much to do!" She dragged a giggling Amity into the Bonesborough marketplace.
Hunter continued to walk ahead with his hands in his pockets. He casually looked around to see if he could find anything for the house. The entire marketplace was quite overwhelming.
Today the market was even more crowded than the last time he was here. Shopkeepers trying to sell their special Christmas merchandise, people rushing to buy last minute Christmas presents, a choir singing in the corner of the street, together with the endless chattering of people gave him a bit of a headache. The sooner he finishes today's work the better. He didn't want to be here for too long.
Once again he happened to walk past the town Christmas tree. This time he didn't stop to get a peek of the top. Instead, he stopped to look around in hopes of finding an adorable little bespectacled figure carrying a small Christmas tree. Unfortunately, she was nowhere to be seen. He had no idea why he felt kinda sad or even why he thought she would be here another day. But most of all, he was confused why he wanted to see her again.
Of course she offered her help to decorate the house. But the house wouldn't be ready for decorating for at least two more days. He kept telling himself that it was only because his sense of gratitude encouraged him to return her favor. Yes, even before she actually did him a favor. Yes, that was definitely it. Everyone does that. Right?
He shook his head to clear thoughts and proceeded on his quest for seasonal decorations. Admittedly, Hunter had never ever done this before, but how hard can it be? He was there when his mom and sisters decorated the house back in Gravesfield, and he also helped a bit. Now he just had to do the same thing but without guidance. That's not a big deal at all. He huffed in determination.
'Ok, let's see. What do we need for Christmas?' He questioned himself in his mind. As if the universe heard his thoughts, he came across a huge Christmas tree sale, before he finished his thought. "Yup. A Christmas tree."
He checked out the trees for a couple of moments before heading inside the store which seemed to have put up the sale. Sure enough, it was a flower shop. He heard the bells chiming as he opened the door and came to stand near the front desk.
"Just a minute!â An all too familiar voice came from the inside of the shop and for some reason, a stupid grin spread across Hunter's face as he recognized it.
"Seasonal greetings! Welcome to Parks' Gardens. How may I help y- Oh my gosh, Hunter!" It was Willow who came to the front desk from the back of the shop. She seemed so excited to see him. That just made him smile even more.
"I can't believe you're here. I mean, of course you're here. You're staying here for Christmas after all." She chuckled lightheartedly. "But you're here. In my shop. I certainly wasn't expecting⊠Hunter, are you ok?" Her happy and bubbly tone changed into a concerned one when she noticed that Hunter wasn't responding to anything. He seemed to have frozen on the spot. And it was certainly not because of the cold weather outside.
"Oh, uhhh- yeah! YeahâŠ" Hunter broke out of his trance when he recognized the concern in her voice. He saw that her head was tilted in confusion. That's when he remembered he had been wordlessly staring at her. "I wasn't expecting to see you either." He nervously added. Why on earth was he feeling nervous?
She giggled softly covering her mouth with her hand. Her laugh sounded like music to his ears. She was so freaking adorable. He was very proud of the fact that he had been the one to cause such a reaction in her. He wished nothing more in his life than to hear her laugh again.
"OkâŠ" She said between giggles. "So as I was saying⊠What brings you here?"
"Oh yeahâŠ" Hunter remembered why he actually came there in the first place. "I was looking for Christmas decorations⊠you know, for my house. Yeah⊠for the house."
"Oh right⊠You saw the Christmas trees, of course." She shook her head as if she was expecting something else as an answer, but she had to be satisfied with this one. "So, did you pick one?"
"Wait. We're supposed to pick one?" Hunter was genuinely confused. To him, all the trees looked the same. Why would he have to pick one?
"Well yeah⊠Of course you pick a tree." Willow shrugged as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. "I mean you don't necessarily have to do that⊠If you don't have things like height or space to consider. But selecting a Christmas tree can also be like selecting a pet, you know." She walked ahead, opening the door, heading outside to the Christmas tree sale. "Well, at least to me." She shrugged standing in front of a huge tree.
Hunter did not understand a word she said. Partly because she wasn't quite making sense and partly because he was distracted looking at her inspect her Christmas trees.
She continued to explain as Hunter came closer to her. "A Christmas tree symbolizes life and immortality. When you put up a Christmas tree in your house, it brings joy and a sort of lively vibe to your house. It's a very important duty for the tree to make sure it brings that feel to wherever it's kept. So it's sort of like you're bestowing it the responsibility of bringing the Christmas spirit to your house. You should trust the tree for that."
"Are you saying that Christmas trees are like people? Like a soldier with a duty to fulfill?" Hunter looked up at a tree and a weirdly graphic image of a walking talking tree crossed his mind.
"No sillyâŠâ Willow giggled. "It's not exactly like that. But I do like to think that all plants are like people. I've always felt this weird connection with plants. Like, I would talk to them. I would take care of them and they're kinda like my friends." She said looking around and absentmindedly twirling in the middle of the field full of Christmas trees.
Hunter was flabbergasted at the sight in front of him. The falling snow, the green trees, the faint glow of Christmas lights and in the middle of all this, Willow. She looked so at peace within the trees. Truly in her element. Heat rose to his face and his ears and cheeks became red. Yet, he couldn't help but smile looking at the beauty in front of him.
"SoâŠ" Willow approached him again, making him realize what he was doing. "Have you picked a tree yet?" She asked eagerly.
"Oh yeah⊠Of course, I was picking trees. Normal Christmas shopping stuff." He smiled a bit before pointing at a random tree. "That one right there."
Willow looked over to where he was pointing and to his surprise, she giggled again. Goodness she had to stop doing that around him. At this pace he was pretty sure he's gonna die of cardiac arrest or something. "Are you sure? Because that's not a Christmas tree."
"What! Really?â He turned around a bit to look at the tree he chose. Sure enough, it was not a tree at all. He pointed at the cut out sign shaped like a tree which was kept outside the shop in order to advertise the sale. Hunter mentally facepalmed. He definitely looked so stupid right now. He didn't know why it was happening. But when he's with Willow, he can't really seem to pay attention to anything else but her and only her.
"Is this your first time getting a tree?" She asked, interrupting his train of thoughts.
"Yeah⊠I've never really done this before." He scratched the back of his neck nervously. It was not entirely untrue, but something told him that even if he had done Christmas shopping before, with Willow around he wouldn't have been able to choose a tree.
"Alright then, can I pick a tree for you?â She asked, looking up at him with a gentle smile.
Hunter nodded and she proceeded to look around to find the perfect tree for him. He watched her fondly, as if she was the most precious thing in the world, not understanding why he was feeling that way. After a couple of minutes she waved at Hunter to come over to where she was standing.
"So, what do you think?â She asked, pointing at a tree she picked out for him.
"I think it's perfect." He automatically replied, even before looking at it. "I mean, you're the expert. So if you think it's good, then it's perfect." He added thoughtfully.
"Ok then⊠Can you take it with you or should I deliver it to your place later today?"
"Oh yeah, I didn't drive here today. I just came for a walk with my sister who wanted to meet her girlfriend." He rolled his eyes at himself for not bringing his car today. "Sorry⊠if it trouble-"
"You apologize too much." She shook her head and she giggled again. She was in a roll. She couldn't remember the last time she smiled much around someone. "You don't have to worry. It's standard procedure. We deliver it to your doorstep." She said playfully in a generic advertising tone.
"Oh that's great. Thank you so much." He said pulling out his wallet and taking out his business card. Before handing it over to her he took out a pen from inside his jacket and scribbled something in the back of it. "So uhhh, here's my card. It has my number if you want to contact me." He gave her his card and she silently pocketed it. "It also has my address written in the back of it. And also my personal phone number, in case the one in the front was busy." He added sheepishly and as if on cue his phone started ringing. "That's the one ringing right now. Excuse me for a minute." He answered the call as she waited for him to finish it.
After a while he put his phone back in his pocket and turned to face her. "Sorry, that was my sister. She said she was going home after shopping and she wanted my help to carry bags." He rolled his eyes. "I wish I could stick around but I kinda have to go now." He said apologetically.
"That's alright. I'll make sure to have this tree delivered in no time." She reassured him walking back to the entrance of the shop with him. "By the way, are you still up for decorating the town?"
"Of course!" He answered immediately, regretting how loud his voice sounded. "Sorry, I mean, yes⊠Yes I am." He cleared his throat to seem nonchalant. "Just give me a call when you need me." He said walking to the streets into the market. "See you soon. Byeeeee" He waved as he disappeared into the crowded marketplace.
Willow smiled as she walked into her shop, closing the door behind her. She reached into her pocket and took out the card he gave her. Her smile disappeared as her jaw dropped in shock as she recognized the name on the card.

First Date
First DateÂ
Fic Summary: The time has come for you and Colin to finally have your first official date. Love Exists Masterpost. The Evans Fics Masterpost.
Fic Rating: M
Pairing: Colin Zabel/Female Reader
Warnings: Language & some making out/suggestive language
Last week when you flirted with Colin and followed him to his hotel room, it had been a quick, spontaneous decision. While it hadnât worked out quite how you wanted it to, you got your chance a few days later when he slept over at your place.
You didnât expect to spend the following day in bed with him, nor did you expect to feel so goddamn horny for the man the second he left. Even the quickie in your car wasnât enough. You want more of Detective Colin Zabel and itâs driving you crazy.
Youâve never wanted someone this bad before. But your stomach is a jumble of nerves for an entirely different reason. Because tonight, you and Colin are having your first official date and you have no idea how to act.
Dating is new territory for you. Itâs been a long time since youâve been in a relationship and even then it wasnât serious. When Colin asked you to join him for dinner at his friendâs restaurant, you said yes before you could overthink. Of course, now that means your anxiety has been building.
The case Colin and Mare are working has kept them busy over the last few days so you havenât been able to spend much time with yourâŠfriend? You donât know what to call him. Boyfriend sounds too formal. Lover is a weird word that never settles quite right. Potential romantic partner? Booty call? Really close friend?
See, this is why you never date. It gets too confusing and messy.
At least, thatâs how you used to feel. Now, youâre not so sure. Because every time Colin catches your eye and smiles at you, those old thoughts arenât as loud as they used to be.
You keep telling yourself to relax and go with the flow, but itâs easier said than done. Which is why you find yourself running around your room trying to find something to wear.
Currently, most of your clothes are piled up on your bed. Digging through them, you reject everything you see, almost to the point of tears. Itâs not until you sit yourself down and take a few deep breaths that you realize just how nervous you are.
âItâs okay,â you tell yourself. âItâs Colin. You know him. You like him. And he likes you. Heâs the sweetest man youâve ever met and heâs not going to care what you wear as long as you have a great time.â
Bullshit. Dress to impress. Knock him dead. Take the beath out of him.
After several long minutes of internal debate, you manage to find something relatively dressy that fits and looks good on you. Shoving all your clothes back in the closet, you try to make your room mostly presentable on the off chance you and Colin end up back there after dinner. Youâd like to assume you will but are trying not to put any pressure on him or yourself.
You just finish getting ready when thereâs a knock on the door. Checking yourself over in the mirror one last time, you take a deep breath, before going to greet Colin.
Dear GOD, he looks amazing. While Colin tends to dress very well for work, itâs different seeing him in a suit jacket and tie.
âYou look beautiful,â he says, eyes taking you in with appreciation. âAre you ready to go?â
âYup. Just lead the way.â
Colin offers you his arm in an endearingly formal way and you can help but accept, letting him lead you to his car. The sweet man even opens the door for you. With a quiet word of thanks, you climb in, your heart fluttering with nervous energy.
As he drives away, you sense the nervous tension between you two.
âSoâŠâ Colin says. âI know I suggested my friendâs restaurant but if youâd rather go somewhere else thatâs good too.â
âNo, no, your friendâs place is fine.â
Colin nods, flipping on the radio to help fill the awkward silence. You donât know what to do with your hands and find yourself fidgeting with your coat, seatbelt, purse, and whatever you can.
âHow was your afternoon?â Colin asks. âYou were gone by the time we got back from canvasingâŠâ
âIt was fine. Made some coffee runs and filed a bunch of stuff.â
âCool...â
More silence. As Colin pulls into a parking space at the restaurant, you feel the need to clear the air.
âIâm sorry Iâm not very good company tonight,â you say. âThe truth is, Iâm really nervous.â
Colin smiles and puts the car in park. âHonestly, me too.â
You both laugh, partly from relief and partly by amusement. âLook, I donât have any expectations,â Colin continues. âI asked you out because I really like you and Iâve never connected with someone like Iâve connected with you.â
âWe have connected very well,â you tease.
Colinâs cheeks turn red and he ducks his head as he tries to hide his smile. âI meant emotionally but yeah, physically too.â
âI also meant emotionally,â you say. âMostly.â
He laughs and looks at you again. âIâm really happy to hear you say that. Glad itâs not all in my head.â
Hearing the self-deprecation in his voice, you slide your hand into his hair and pull him into a kiss. He responds instantly, melting into your touch and kissing back with equal intensity. When he draws back, his eyes are hooded.
âItâs not all in your head,â you assure him. âThere is something here. Why wouldnât I feel something for you? Youâre smart, considerate, fucking adorable as hellâŠâ He smiles and blushes harder. âYouâre a great guy, Colin.â
He kisses you gently one more time. âYouâre amazing, you know that?â
âI do,â you tease. âNow can we go eat?â
âAbsolutely.â
Feeling lighter and less nervous, the two of you get out of the car. Colin takes your hand as he meets you on your side of the car. Heading inside, you canât help but focus on the feeling of his hand in yours. It was solid and warm, just like the rest of him.
Youâre seated right away and Colin letâs your hand go so he can hold your chair our for you. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, the low lighting set the right mood. Colin looks even more dashing than he did on your front porch.
The waiter takes your drink orders and you pick up your menu, trying to figure out what to have. Colin does the same.
âThis is a nice place,â you comment, glancing around. âIâm not used to going out like this.â
âStick with me and Iâll take you to all the nice places.â
âWhat? The backseat of my car isnât nice enough?â
His ears turn red this time and he chuckles. âI didnât say that. It has its merits.â
The waiter arrives with your drinks and takes your orders, before leaving once more.
âSo, Detective Colin Zabel,â you say, resting your elbows on the table. âWhatâs a big shot like you doing in a place like Easttown?â
He clears his throat and shifts in his seat. âIâm no big shot,â he says shaking his head. âIâm just a guy trying to do the right thing.â
âIt makes you uncomfortable, doesnât it?â you realize. âTalking about that big case.â
âCan we not talk about that case?â he asks. âIâm notâŠIâd rather talk about something else.â
âNo problem. Sorry I brought it up.â
âItâs okay. What about you? I never asked what it was like for you starting out. You know, after the academy.â
He seems relieved that you are willing drop the subject and as the conversation starts to flow, both of you get more comfortable. Wanting to take his mind off things, you decide to tell him about your more memorable moments as a young trainee.
âOh, and THEN! Then Mare arrives right as Iâm trying to detain this guy,â you say, hands moving wildly as you talk. âAnd she just gives me that stern, unamused look that she always hasâŠâ
âYup, I know that look.â
âAnd when I finally get him into the back of the car she goes, âHey, kid, I think youâre forgetting somethingâ.â
âOh god, noâŠâ
âYeah, the guyâs dog. He came tearing out of the house and I chased me around the car while Mare just fucking laughed.â
Colin throws his head back and laughs, a sight that makes your own grin widen. Youâve never seen him so jovial, well without alcohol, and you vow to think of more stories thatâll make him laugh that hard.
âDidnât you go there because of the reports of his dog being loud and aggressive?â
âSure did. Then promptly forgot when I noticed the stolen merchandise from the theft. Needless to say, I got a little too excited and, whelp, got chased by the dog.â
Colin is still laughing, shaking his head while he does. âWow. JustâŠjust wow.â
âI am so glad you enjoyed my embarrassment.â
âI absolutely did.â
His face is bright and you want to reach across the table and kiss him.
You wonder why you were even nervous to begin with. Once the food arrives, Colin lifts his wine in a toast. You follow his lead with your drink and you both smile as you clink glasses.
âAny particular plans after dinner?â you ask as you both start to eat.
Colin shakes his head. âNot in particular. What do you have in mind?â
âThereâs a soft bed thatâs been missing you.â
His pupils dilate and you see his breathing pick up. âIâŠyeah, that sounds great. I kind of hoped youâd say that but I didnât want to assume anything.â
Under the table, you run the tip of your shoe up the back of his calf and he jumps in surprise, almost dropping his fork. You smirk as he gets flustered.
âYou have my complete permission to assume all youâd like,â you say in a low voice.
The evening takes on a very different energy after that. Heated looks are exchanged as you both eat as quickly as you can while still being polite.
âAre we thinking dessert?â the waiters asks when he gathers your empty plates.
You shoot Colin a raised eyebrow.
âI think just the check will be fine,â Colin says.
The drive back to your place is different than the drive to the restaurant had been. Colinâs hand rests on your knee, and just the pressure of it is enough to get your body going.
He barely puts the car in park before you reach for him, yanking him into a searing kiss. Colin is just as eager, hands fumbling to turn off the car before he can get them on you.
âWe should go inside,â he pants between kisses.
âYes, please.â
You stop just long enough to get out of the car. Coming around to the front, you both meet in the middle, Colin cupping your cheek while snaking his arm around your waist. God the way his mouth slots over yours is just so perfect.
The ringing of his cellphone cuts through the quiet night.
You groan in frustration. âNoooooo.,â you whine.
Colin huffs in annoyance, pulling back. âIâm so sorry,â he says taking the phone out of his pocket. âShit, itâs Mare. I should take this.â
Sighing but understanding, you motion for him to go ahead.
Colin answers the phone. âZabel, here. Yeah, hey, MareâŠâ
You know work has interrupted your date and you probably wonât be getting to the best part anytime soon. Colinâs face is somber as he listens to his partner.
âOkay, Iâll be there in a few minutes,â he says, giving you an apologetic look. âBye.â
He hangs up.
âDuty calls?â you ask.
âIâm so sorry,â he says. âShe wants me to meet her in an hour. Thereâs a club we need to check out.â
âAn hour, huh?â you ask, lips curling into a smile.
âYeah. Itâs across town so itâs going to take me aâwhat are you doing?â
You push him so his back bumps into the hood of the car. âYou have plenty of time to get there. I want to at least make out a little.â
Colin gives you that lopsided smile before pulling you into another heated kiss. You slide your arms around his neck as his go around your waist, crushing you against his chest. Itâs filled with promises and silent wants. Neither of you wants him to go, both of you would love to go inside and pick up where you left off the other day.
But work is work, and you wonât make him feel guilty for doing his job.
Your tongue finds his, deepening the kiss as your fingers dig into the collar of his coat. Colin draws back just enough for his nose to brush yours as he lays several pecks on your lips.
âIf Iâm not done too late, can I come back?â he asks, voice filled with hope.
âYou better.â
His smile widens and he gives you one final, sweeping kiss before gently pushing you back so heâs not pressed against the car.
âIâll text you,â he promises.
âIâll be waiting.â
Colin watches you walk up to your door but doesnât get into his car until youâre safely inside. You wave to him from the door, hoping heâll come back sooner rather than later. In the meantime, you are going to find the sexiest underwear you own and wait.

show me love | jaehyun
title: show me love pairing: jaehyun x reader genre: fluff request:Â âI have a fic idea for Valentine's Day đ Jaehyun's gf is busy trying to prepare a really sweet bday gift while Jaehyun is busy trying to prepare a really nice Valentine's Day gift for his gf?â word count: 2.2k warnings: alcohol use a/n:Â writing pure fluff is not as easy as youâd think, but maybe thatâs only an issue when youâre emotionally constipated like me...đ anyway, hereâs to the birthday boy. đč
You want to be sure Jaehyunâs birthday gift is perfect this year, which is why you spent so much time saving up for it. To you, it often felt a little hard to measure up to all the lavish gifts he gets every year for his birthday from fans, friends, and family membersâespecially since itâs on Valentineâs Dayâbut he always claimed that you could get him anything and heâd love it.
You and Jaehyun havenât met up very frequently this week, partly because youâd both been busy preparing your gifts for each other; you for his birthday, and him for Valentineâs Day. You werenât too upset about that, though. Being able to see him when the day finally came around would make it even more special after the time spent away from each other.
Itâd been a lot harder than youâd anticipated to keep your gift secret, but only because youâre so excited for him to finally know what youâd gotten for him. Youâre eager to see his reaction to it and hear what he might say about it. Youâre also wondering what he might be planning for you, but youâve done your very best not to pester him about it too muchâeven though you really want to.
The day of his birthday, youâre so jittery that you even get up earlier than usual so you can get dressed and make sure your look for the day is perfect. You end up calling Jaehyun while you put your makeup on, not wanting to wait any longer to talk to him. Itâs not too early in the day when you call, because you know he wonât like getting up at that hour, but maybe early enough to cause a small complaint.
âHi Y/N,â he answers after a few seconds, voice a bit deeper than usualâprobably because he just got up. You grin at the sound of his voice.
âGood morning! Happy birthday, baby! Did I wake you? Iâm sorry, haha.â
âY/N.â Jaehyun repeats your name and smiles on the other end. You canât see this, but you can hear his laugh, which is full of happiness at your greeting. âThank you, sweet girl. Itâs fine, I donât really care, I was gonna get up soon anyway.â You hear the sheets rustling in the background and figure thatâs him getting up now. âAnd of course, Happy Valentineâs Day.â
âThe day for lovers, how could I ever forget.â You smirk to yourself, sifting through your makeup bag for a certain highlighter. âBy the way, youâre gonna come over today, right? I have something for you,â you tell him in a singsong-y mischievous tone.
âOh?â Jaehyun perks up at that. âYou want me to come over now? Because...I have something for you too, for Valentineâs Day, but itâs here at my place.â
âAh, really?â You laugh. âCome to my place first, itâs your birthday and you should get your present first.â
âBut since itâs my birthday, shouldnât you come here? Do it for me~â
You almost roll over with laughter. âAw, Jaehyun! I canât believe youâre using that cute tone with me, I know you hate aegyo.â
He sighs, and you know heâs probably blushing from embarrassment. âHmm, okay, okay. Never gonna do that one again. Should we flip a coin on it, then? If I win, you have to come over with whatever your gift is.â
You chuckle. âFlip a coin? You serious?â
âDead serious. Get on FaceTime.â
âNow?â You snort and look at yourself in the mirror, makeup only half-done.
âYou donât want to? What are you hiding?â Now his voice takes on a sneaky note.
âIâm not hiding anything, but if thatâs what you want, then prepare yourself...â
You both hang up and Jaehyun calls you on FaceTime a few seconds later. You smile when you see his face on the other end, still bare from just waking up. One corner of his mouth tugs up in a smirk when he sees you, then he bursts into a full grin, giggling at your half-made-up face.Â
âWell, that was unexpected.â
âYes, yes, laugh it up! My own boyfriend clowning me on Valentineâs Day, how sweet of you.â You pout for good measure.
âYou laugh at me nearly everyday,â he points out, and you must admit that heâs right. âAnyway, you always look pretty to me.â Then he pulls a hand through his hair in a way that he knows can always make you swoon, and you sigh in defeat.
â...Okay, youâre forgiven.â
You see him rummage around for a moment before the phone straightens again; now he holds a coin between his fingers. âSo. What side do you want?â
âI guess heads.â
Jaehyun snickers momentarily before affecting a nonchalant expression again. âYeah, Iâll take tails then.â
âStop being dirty-minded,â you complain, rolling your eyes.
âIâm not, Y/N,â he insists, though his tone suggests otherwise. He flips the coin into the air and points the phone camera to where it landed on the groundâheads.
âI won! Now you have to come over,â you cheer.
âFine, fine.â He shakes his head and laughs. âIâll be over soon. Wait for me.â
âI wouldnât go anywhere else, now would I?â
Jaehyun arrives at your place a little while later, and heâs a bit starstruck when you open the door. Now with your makeup finished, youâre wearing a red dress with heels to match and your hair is styled prettily, falling over your shoulders. You smile happily at him, pulling at his shoulders to get him to come inside.
âHi Jaehyun,â you say, closing the door after him and hugging him. He squeezes you back tightly, leaving a kiss on your bare shoulder and breathing in the scent of your hair.
âY/N. How do you manage to get prettier everyday?â
âBecause you love me so much.â You give him a kiss and tug his hand to guide him into the living room. You lead him to sit down on your couch, though you donât sit next to him just yet. âOkay, before I give you your gift, you gotta close your eyes first.â
âClose my eyes? What is it?â Jaehyun keeps hold of your hand as he asks this, grinning up at you.
âYou wonât know until you do what I say, silly!â He relents, although a bit reluctantly, and lets go of your hand so he can close his eyes. You go to get his gift from your bedroom and come back into the living room with it, holding it out in front of him. âOpen your eyes now.â
When he does, he sees you holding a small wrapped box. âWhyâd I have to close my eyes? I still canât tell what it is.â He chuckles as he takes it from you. âThe suspense is gonna kill me,â he jokes as he begins unwrapping it.
When Jaehyun finally gets the wrapping off and gets the box open, his face softens as he sees whatâs inside and takes it in his hand. You clasp your own hands together, your skin warming at his smile. âIt might not be what youâre used to in terms of like, luxury, you know...but it looked nice and I thought itâd look good on you.â
âY/NâŠyou mustâve spent a lot on this,â Jaehyun murmurs, examining the shiny new face of the watch in his hand. He holds it as if it were a rare jewel, turning it on all its sides to examine it. Itâs mostly black leather and silver, but it was still more than usual for your budget, costing you a few hundred dollars.
âI did save up for some months...and still had to use a payment plan for it. Good thing we never broke up in that timespan or I woulda been shit outta luck.â Jaehyun snorts and shakes his head at your statement, knowing youâd say something like that to lighten the mood.
âThank you baby,â he says, sliding his new watch onto his wrist. âYou know this means the world to me.â He goes over to the window to see it better in the natural lighting, holding it up to the light to see it sparkle. You go over to him and peek over his shoulder, grinning softly. âIâll have to pay you back.â You raise your eyebrows.
âWhat? Itâs your birthday present, why would youââÂ
âYouâll see later,â he says mysteriously, and you give him a curious look. âMeanwhile, we should go somewhere. The dayâs still early, so letâs enjoy it.â
âYouâre right,â you say, glancing at the new watch once more and then kissing him on the cheek. âLetâs go, then.â
Itâs evening by the time you get back to Jaehyunâs place, having already eaten at an upscale restaurant that heâd reserved. Youâd had no idea about it, and you were glad youâd taken the initiative to dress up today. Both of you spent the earlier part of the day going out to brunch and then exploring the city for a few hours, which even included taking one of those romantic boat rides that the nearby lake always offers on Valentineâs Day. You thought it would be kind of cheesy at first, but it turned out way more fun than you could imagine.
When you step inside his place, youâre surprised to see everything is decorated pretty lavishly; the overhead lights are dimmed, leaving a bunch of small tea lights as the main illumination. There are rose petals spread everywhere, too, and the sitting room is set up with pillows and blankets and a nice spread of chocolates and wine on the coffee table.
You gasp, studying the surroundings. âHow did you arrange all this? We were together all day.âÂ
âHad some help from the guys; they came while we were gone. Hope they didnât take anything, though...â Jaehyun shrugs as if this whole setup is no big deal, but his dimples poke out from the gleeful smile on his lips. He picks up an unlit candle from the coffee table, and you notice there are a few more spread around. âNow that weâre here, we can light these. Safety first, you know.â
âOf course,â you snicker, taking your jacket and shoes off so you can sit down on one of the pillows. You take up the bottle of wine and inspect the label while Jaehyun finds a lighter for the candles. âConsidering that we already drank at the restaurant...donât be surprised if Iâm off my ass by the end of the night.â
âWe donât have to drink it if you donât want to,â he suggests, raising one eyebrow.
âOh no, I want to!â Jaehyun laughs at your enthusiasm as you open the wine and pour a glass for each of you. Once heâs done lighting the candles, he goes into his room. You lean back on the cushion and take your glass in your hand, waiting for him to come back.
Jaehyun returns soon with his blazer discarded and the first few buttons of his shirt undone. âI see youâve gotten relaxed, too.â You smirk, crossing your legs. âYou look so handsome with your new watch. Iâm glad I got it for you.â
âThen I think youâll like this even more.â
âHmm?â You turn to Jaehyun as he sits on one of the pillows beside you. Your eyes widen when he pulls out a velvet case you didnât notice before. Itâs not a ring case, though, which really wouldâve caused you to fall out; itâs the kind you use for bracelets or necklaces. He places it in your hands, and you gingerly take it from him like it might vanish if handled too roughly. âOh...what isâŠ?â
âYou have to open it.â He grins, mimicking your earlier teasing of him with his own gift. You set down your wine glass and open the velvet rectangle to find a delicate necklace lying inside. At the end of it is a small circle with tiny diamonds embedded in it.
âOh wow...itâs perfect,â you whisper, taking it out of the box and looking it over with enamored eyes. âIs this what you meant by âpaying me backâ? Because, Jesus, this is Cartier. I think youâve done more than enough.â You smile wistfully and shake your head.
âLet me put it on you,â he says, and you give him the necklace so he can do so. You turn away from him, and you shiver a little at the feeling of his breaths on the back of your neck and his fingertips brushing your skin. You face him again when heâs done fastening it and throw your arms around his neck, hugging him closer to you and smiling against his dimpled cheek.
âI love you, Jaehyun. Thank you so much.â
Jaehyunâs lips curve up at your words, and he tucks his face against you, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your jaw. âI love you, Y/N.â

CHAMERON FIC CHAMERON FIC CHAMERON FIC
Uhhhhh I feel like I should give this a title but I have no idea what to call so uh, nevermind !!
Anyways,I finally finished the fic I said I was writing like,a month ago lol. All my Chameron stans out there this one's for u,I rlly hope at least one person enjoys this,I rlly enjoyed writing it !! Ok sappy stuff outta the way, here it is:
As rain pounded against the window Charlie sent what was probably the thousandth crumpled ball of paper across the room.
"Jesus Charlie,is your arm not getting tired?"
Charlie smirked at that, clearly preparing to make a dirty minded joke, but a thoroughly exhausted Richard Cameron was already one step ahead.
"You know what,forget I asked, you're gross."
Getting up from the seat at his desk and ignoring an indignant retort from Charlie, Cameron thought of the rest of his friends, out for the weekend. Todd and Neil celebrating their one year anniversary, Meeks and Pitts embarking on a two day road trip, for what they still claimed to be, entirely platonic reasons (although the rest of the poets were all too aware of the almost palpable romantic tension between them). Even Knox had found something to do with himself on this miserable Friday night.
And here Cameron was, stuck in his dorm with nothing but stacks of extra homework and his obnoxious roommate to keep him company.
Speaking of that obnoxious roommate, "Oh come on Cam,you're not seriously going to bed already,it's barely eight!"
"Shut up Dalton,I'm tired."
Refusing to admit defeat, Charlie sprung from his own bed into Cameron's, attempting to wrestle the poor boy from his comfortable position.
"Charlie, get off you psycho!" Cameron managed to get out, already laughter threatening to give away just how welcome his friend's childish antics were.
After a few more minutes of "fooling around" as Charlie insisted on calling it (mostly because of how profusely it made Cameron blush),the two boys lay breathless beside each other, trying desperately to think of something else to do that would ward off impending boredom.
After a few moments of comfortable silence,Charlie suggested, looking expectantly towards the ginger, "Wanna go to the cave?"
With extreme, mind numbing boredom as motivation, it was inevitable that Cameron would say yes. It certainly helped that Charlie was gazing at him with those oh-so convincing doe eyes of his. Charlie Dalton and his stupid, gorgeous eyes. And his stupid, gorgeous smile, which Cameron was abso definitely not thinking about as he got up and grabbed his coat.
The two boys trudged through the woods, bickering lightly when Cameron complained of the cold that Charlie apparently couldnt feel at all,but always with an unusually friendly air between them. Before long they were sat together in the middle of the cave, sharing an apple that Cameron had managed to salvage from somewhere (a feat Dalton was of course impressed by),and trading stories of girls and parties galore. In Cameron's case, the stories of girls were few and the parties were from years long before even middle school,so Charlie did most of the talking.
After a while though, the boys came to discussing their friends, and the luck they all seemed to have in finding each other so easily. Charlie, ever the romantic, made no waste of his extensive vocabulary, tediously lamenting on all the opportunities of love he had missed and the everlasting loneliness he was doomed to,all because his dashing knight in shining armour would never come to find him and-
"Why dont *you* just find somebody?"
Charlie, still sprawled dramatically over a rock ,and mildly offended at the interruption, indignantly questioned "What do you mean?"
"What I said? You dont just have to wait around for somebody to come find you and fall madly in love. Why don't *you* just find somebody?"
He thought for a moment, taken aback by the ginger's harsh words, but eventually decided to humout him for a moment.
"And where exactly do you suggest I find him then, hm?"
Cameron shifted in his seat, not expecting to be taken seriously and certainly not prepared to be giving advice. Especially not *this* kind of advice. Especially not to *charlie*.
"Well,uh," he looked up to see the other boy looking at him expectantly, with that ever-present smirk on his face that, oddly enough, made Cameron feel a little more comfortable.
"Maybe, you could,I don't know, consider that the guy you're looking for has been here the whole time?"
"Wow Cam,Pittsie and Meeks' radio must've really gotten to you. All those love songs have turned you into a big softie." Charlie joked, grinning and nudging Cameron playfully.
Through a soft laugh,Cameron continued, "No I'm serious man,I think you're making this whole love thing way harder for yourself. I mean- and be honest with me, what's actually wrong with the guys at our school?"
"Other than the fact that about three quarters of them are raging heterosexuals?"
Laughing again,Cameron replied "yeah, other than that."
After about zero seconds of careful consideration,he had come to a conclusion, "Well,I guess nothing, but I dont know? Cameron, I don't see how this changes-"
"It *changes* things because clearly you don't anything about half the guys at our school. And you can't write off people you don't even know." At some point, Cameron had gotten up and started pacing around, but with the end of this triumphant speech,he finally sat down,a little closer to the other boy than he had been before.
Charlie looked across at Cameron and was suddenly met with a wave of fondness. Weird, how all it took was to sit and talk for a while before someone you thought you near hated, started to feel like your favorite person in the world. And,was he going completely crazy or Cameron at his most comfortable, without the fear of a teacher lurking nearby, without the stress of constantly trying to prove himself, was he... A little..... attractive??
All at once,Charlie made a decision, partly to try and prove himself wrong, but also because hey,if Richard Cameron was the surprise love of his life, what better time to figure it out than right now?
"So how,sir Richard Cameron,do you propose I get to know all these charming suitors?"
Cameron, completely in the dark about Dalton's recent epiphany, was still stubbornly trying to explain how much easier Charlie's love life could be,if only he would let it.
"Well, maybe by actually talking to them? Y'know, kind of like,What we're doing right now."
"So,what you're saying is,*you* could be my knight in shining armor," he said with a smirk.
"Well,that's not what-"
"No,no it's fine,as long as we're talking about this version of you. Regular Cameron is kind of a buzzkill but Cave Cam is actually a kind of.... And I can't believe I'm saying this but,in here, like this...well. You're actually a little hot."
After this, overwhelmingly romantic confession, Charlie was certain he had completely stuffed it,and sure enough,
"Gee Charlie, thanks. Really makes me wanna ride into the sunset with you." To say Cam's ego had been hit was an understatement, but before he could make a swift exit from the cave and lock himself, alone,in his dorm for the rest of the weekend,of course Dalton kept talking.
"God,I'm sorry, that was, I have no idea why I said that. I thought I was being funny but out loud- god I'm so sorry," while he had initially been mad, seeing Charlie fucking Dalton blush (and because of *him* no less) was rather funny. And sure,a little cute. So Cameron decided to hear him out.
"Can I start over? You're not saying anything so I'm gonna start over. I,uh, I really do think you're hot. Like really hot. And not just right now,all the time, like that time we were at rowing practice and I started pushing you around and we ended up on the floor and I saw like,a single sliver of skin because your sweater had ridden up,and I couldn't stop thinking about it all day, which I thought was a little weird but then-"
"Uh,I think I get it,Charlie." Now Cameron was the one blushing.
"Uh,sorry. What I meant was,that I *do* think you're hot l-"
"As you've said"
"Yeah, yeah, but it's more than that. Like, when I realized we'd basically be spending the whole weekend alone together,I was actually sorta excited for that, even though I knew I'd just be sitting by you while you did homework the whole time,I like, wanted to do that. And tonight,I haven't talked like this with anyone who isn't Neil like, ever. What I mean is,I guess,is that,I think that uh,"
Deciding to lighten the mood,Cameron tried for a little sarcasm, "Wow,Dalton, stuttering? I must be superman or something."
"I'm trying to be romantic here Carrot top," Charlie said with a grin,
"Listen,I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I think it might be kinda nice if we tried having a little romantic weekend of our own. Just to try it. If it totally sucks we can pretend it never happened and the others don't have to know about it and-"
"Charlie."
"Yeah?"
"Relax," Cameron said with yet another laugh ,he didn't think he laughed like this since... Well,he couldn't even remember.
So with a radiant smile on his face,he said,"A romantic weekend of our own sounds amazing. Gotta warn you tho I'm not a great kisser."
"Well, lucky for you I am a great teacher," Charlie replied, with a somehow even bigger smile on his face than Cameron's,
"Why are you laughing,I *am* a great teacher!" Unfortunately for Charlie, his indignance only made Cameron laugh harder.
"I'll believe that when I see it."
"If you shut up and stop laughing, maybe you'll get to." After this was all it took to get the ginger to sober up, the look on his face pushed Charlie to make his final, but (in his opinion) most important decision of the night. It was high time he flirt with Cameron way more often (which was *very* difficult to explain to the other poets,at least the first time).

Damn, Youâre Looking Fine.
To my utter delight, my crack writing Fuck. Iâm Gay. got a good reception. I was not expecting to write more for this AU/pairing. But why not? I got some ideas and a computer to write them down on.
So this fic is the took-a-while-to-put-together sequel. Itâs focused on the downfall of one certain Liar-la, Damian wooing Adrien with all the flair and romantics as his Chaton deserves, and Adrien being a blushing hot gay mess.Â
P.S. Damianâs formal way of talking is an utter pain to write but hilarious to read.
P.S.S. Creative liberties were taken. Again. I just feel this needs to be mentioned.Â
.
.
.
So Status Update:
Adrien and Damian are definitely dating (It is totally official. Told you ya boi got game).
Adrien still calls him Hot-And-Sexy from time to time much to his utter mortification (He canât make himself stop. Please send help). And Dami gets amused by it every single time, that arrogant smug jerk.
Marinette still puts the fear of god in Damian and he is wary of her. She feels very proud about that. Adrien wants to facepalm.
Fuck Gabriel Agreste. Â
And Lila Rossi is still a bitch. Â
Adrien and Marinette were made aware about Damianâs alter ego âwell mostly because he is utterly terrified of Marinetteâs seemingly sweet (icy) smile she gave him when she politely asked how he obtained the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous and partly because of Adrienâs pouting kitten eyes.Â
They truly were a pair to reckon with.Â
.
âI am not sure why the Justice League dismissed your concerns and pleas for assistance. So I am taking the initiative. My name is Damian Wayne, the son of Batman and the current Robin and leader of the Teen Titans.â
Heâs a superhero too?! And itâs Robin!!! One of his favorites!! Can you hear him internally squealing in excitement?
Adrien bit his lip to keep from fanboying right then and there. But a slight pink hue spread across his face.Â
âYouâre not lying.â Mari has gotten pretty good at deciphering through peopleâs bullshit. Whether itâs because she is now a Guardian or because Lilaâs bitchiness made her a human lie-detector remains unknown.
Damian took it in stride. âI am not.â
âParis is still our city.â
âI am only offering my assistance.â He wonât barge in on their superhero duties to the city. He has more class than that.
Mari didnât have to look at Adrien to know his decision.
She smiled, a bright genuine smile. âThen weâre allies.â Before her eyes gained a spark of mischief and her smile turned teasing. âHot-And-Sexy.âÂ
âMarinette!â Adrien immediately covered his blushing bright red face with both hands, utterly mortified.Â
His sister was evil. E. V. I. L. And why is Damian smirking and looking so smug? Fuck! He even makes that look completely hot. Curse his Adonis genes. And curse his teenage hormones.Â
He regrets introducing the two of them together. What a pair they make. Truly a couple of fur-midable terrors here.Â
.
Back to the matter at hand, Marinette is able to ensure that Hawk Moth and Mayura will never be out again and another akuma wonât be made. She already made sure that the miraculous were better protected.Â
Damian has enough evidence to put them behind bars for their crimes but Marinette wanted to go through it and make sure that Adrien wonât suffer the repercussions of having a villain for a dad so they held onto it until they figure out how best to protect their sunshine.Â
.
Ah Shit.Â
âDuusu? Where are you?âÂ
Did Gabriel lose the miraculous again?Â
But when he looked into the last place he left it, he groaned. Fuck. His brooch was a fake again.
He knew he shouldnât have made a miraculous fashion line and had replicas of the miraculous jewelries made. It was his most popular items to date. He has gotten lot of praises for getting the details just right and capturing the essence of each miraculous holder. No surprise there. He deals with them on a daily basis. He should get the details fucking right.Â
Itâs a wonder he only came up with a line because there was talk that he was becoming obsolete with no new ideas coming forth and if there is one thing that Gabriel Agreste isnât, it is being obsolete.Â
The line was just a joke, a parody of the heroes and villains if you will, but apparently people like it. Ladybug and Chat Noir were the most popular obviously (he shouldâve seen that coming to be honest). Hardly anyone buys Hawk Moth or Mayura and he is left with boxes of fake brooches.Â
It is annoying.
Especially since he keeps fucking misplacing his miraculous.Â
.
Adrien felt like he could be a Disney princess and just skip his way to school and sing for the world to hear.Â
Now that the Butterfly miraculous were safely with Marinette, he doesnât have to worry about another akuma. He could just die happy right now. His dad doesnât have a hold over him anymore. He doesnât have to put up with Liar-la anymore. But if they put up a fuss? Well, worst case scenario is he becomes a Dupain-Cheng.Â
And he doesnât mind. Heâs already an honorary one.Â
And if that somehow doesnât work out (which he highly doubts), Damian offered to make him a Wayne.Â
.
Françoise Dupont High School experienced a shock that morning. Specifically Ms. Bustierâs class.Â
When they saw Adrien and Marinette walking in class with arms intertwined, laughing and smiling together.Â
What the actual fuck?
Did they cross into an alternate universe? Marinette is a nasty bully and Adrienâs a pure sunshine child. Why would they be acting like they were the best of friends?Â
Lila glowered darkly when she saw them walking towards the back and sitting at the same table. Didnât Adrien care about what his father thinks? Doesnât he want to still be able to go to school?Â
She bit her lip and turned on the waterworks, her eyes close to bursting into tears. She made herself be the very picture of a pitiful woe-is-me victim as she cried out in a hurtful and betrayed tone. âAdrien, what are you doing with her? I thought we were close friends.âÂ
The sheep class instantly catered to Lila, pointing their fingers at the pair.Â
Alya, her biggest supporter, led the charge as always. âAdrien! What do you have to say for yourself? How could you cheat on Lila like this? And with her?âÂ
Adrien narrowed his eyes at his former friend. Bitch, how dare she implies he was in an actual relationship and had feelings for that harlot.Â
Wow.Â
He has been spending way too much time around Damian.Â
"Yeah, bro!â Kim said, raising his voice. âHow could you do her dirty?âÂ
âOkay guys.â Adrien cut in. âI donât know where you heard that but me and Lila are not dating. Like at all.âÂ
âPlease.âAlya waved him off like he didnât know what he was talking about (he was highly offended at the notion he didnât know what his heart yearns for). âWe all know you have feelings for Lila. Youâre just in denial over them.â
Bitch, what?
Is no one catching onto his chaotic gay vibes here? Â
And oh, how his fragile little heart was betrayed yet again when he saw Nino supporting his girlfriend. He still couldnât believe the first friend he made all by himself was a part of their rabid pack. He deeply mourned the loss of such a great friend in the midst of that deceiving foxâs claws.Â
âHow many times do I need to say it?â At this point, Adrien was about to throw hands. âI donât like Lila like that. I feel nothing but pure spite for her. Also, me and Marinette are not dating if anyoneâs wondering. Weâre just really good friends.â
âBut Marinetteâs a big bully.â Alix piped up, a hard edge in her voice. âShe treats Lila horribly.â
âMarinette didnât do anything to her. Rossi is lying.âÂ
âOh Adrien.â It was Mylene of all people who spoke up. âDid Marinette get to you with her lies?âÂ
He was done.Â
Completely and utterly done.Â
He looked over at Marinette who shared his exasperation at the classâ antics.Â
Adrien already said it before. But it bears repeating.
Lila Rossi is a bitch.
Luckily (or maybe unluckily), that was the moment Ms. Bustier chose to step in the room and class started.Â
When the teacherâs back was turned, Adrien pulled out his phone and proceeded to spend the rest of the time alternating between taking notes and texting with Damian.Â
They were currently at the stage of their relationship to be sending animal pics and memes back and forth, with a few puns added from time to time.Â
He really does have the perfect boyfriend.Â
.
They cornered him after school.Â
One: Rude.Â
And two: Double rude.Â
He was excited to meet Hot-And-Sexy (daMn iT! Itâs Damian! Get it right brain)Â at the bakery and spending time with his two most favorite people in the world (Tom and Sabine donât count because actual parents donât have a ranking).Â
His former friends were looking all concerned and everything because they somehow collectively came up with the idea that Marinette actually brainwashed him to believe Lila was evil.Â
The fucking irony.Â
They actually had the audacity to say that Marinette âsweet and honestly badass Marinetteâ was no good and just wanted to use Adrien to get ahead in the fashion industry (as if Mari actually needed him for that). He shouldnât be around her. Lila was a much better person to keep as company.Â
Adrien laughed in their faces and left.Â
.
Onto happier events, Adrien was having a blast hanging out with Mari and Dami. His boyfriend (he still canât believe he managed to score such a hottie!) fit right in the everything-that-matters siblingsâ dynamics.Â
They were in Mariâs room. Adrien was cuddling with Damian on her bed. And Mari was at her desk working on fashion designs.Â
âSo whatâs your family like?â He played with Damiâs hair. It was so soft. Like what the fuck. It is so unfair.Â
Damian thought about it for a few seconds. âMy family is a bit...crazy. We drive each other insane every other day but at the end of the day, I have no doubt they have my back as I have theirs.âÂ
âYou guys sound close.âÂ
âWe were not always. We had an extensive amount of issues to work through before we actually bonded as a true family.âÂ
It was quiet for a minute until Damian casually said. âI would appreciate it a great deal if you can make time to visit Gotham for the summer.âÂ
Adrien stopped playing with his hair to look at him with wide incredulous eyes. âSummerâs only two months away.âÂ
âI am aware.âÂ
âYou really want me to meet them? Isnât it too early?âÂ
âI met yours the day we started dating.âÂ
True but....
Adrien averted his eyes. âDo you think your family will like me? You guys fight criminals and my dadâs a villain.âÂ
Damian put his hands over Adrienâs and gave them a light squeeze, making his Chaton look back at him.Â
âMy mother is a villain and I was raised as an assassin. Yet despite of that, my father accepted me. And I am fairly confident he will do the same to you. Mon amour, you have a pure and selfless heart. You are a better person than I am. I have no doubt that my family will love you from the start.Â
âAre you being fur real right meow?â Adrien tried to lighten the atmosphere but he could feel his eyes tearing up.Â
"I wouldnât lie to mew.âÂ
He let out a small laugh, wiping his eyes. How did he ever get so lucky to land such an amazing guy? âYou always know the purr-fect thing to say.âÂ
âWe get it youâre in love. Itâs amazing. Now stop it with the puns.â Mari rolled her eyes, utterly exasperated at these idiots who just ignored her and pulled out even more cat puns. âYou have got to be kitten me.âÂ
Before she noticed what she said and groaned in faux despair. âOh you two are so dead.â
Adrien stuck out his tongue playfully. âYou canât catch me. I got a handsome knight in shining armor to protect me.âÂ
Damian interlaced their fingers. âAlways, mon amour. Iâll protect you from everything like your wicked father.â
âDoes that make me the dragon here?â Mari joined in. âCool. I can breathe fire and torch people. Too bad I canât do that to a certain liar.âÂ
âLiar-la is totally the witch here.â Adrien said before thinking for a few seconds. âDoes this make me the princess?âÂ
âWell, knights always have to save the damsel in distress.â Mari said.Â
He frowned before crossing his arms indignantly. âDami, I love you more than Plagg loves his stinky cheese, but Iâm no damsel in distress.âÂ
Damian rolled his eyes. âTt. Of course not. You can destroy things with a single touch. It would be not be in my best interests to downplay your abilities.â
Adrien relaxed and beamed a sunny smile. âGood. Remember that.âÂ
âMon amour, I look for an equal as a partner, not some weak spoiled harlot that can not defend their self.â Damian placed a flower crown (that was just sitting on Marinetteâs nightstand, must be one of her projects) on Adrienâs head. âHaving said that I do believe you are a prince that deserves all the love and care in the world.âÂ
And oh my.Â
Adrien can feel his face burning scarlet and his heart almost bursting at how sweet this incredible, conceited Adonis was.Â
He was falling in love with Damian over and over again each time they meet up.Â
âYou deserve love too, Dami.âÂ
And sweet, caring Hot-And-Sexy (Ah, fuck it. He will never grow out of that)Â placed a soft kiss on his cheek.Â
Oh dear, he didnât know his face can burned any redder.Â
He could almost hear Mari cooing in the background.Â
And in case anyone was wondering, Tom and Sabine adores their everything-that-actually-matters sonâs boyfriend. Damian Wayne seems like a responsible young lad. And he makes Adrien really happy which is a major plus. Anything that makes their son happy is good in their books.Â
.
Lila was not at all pleased.Â
Why was Adrien suddenly hanging out with Marinette? Yeah, he doesnât buy into her lies but she was confident he will be lured into her charms. Why wouldnât he be? She was young and way more beautiful than a bakerâs daughter. He was supposed to be hers.Â
She and Gabriel are going to have a talk about his rebellious son.Â
Except when she arrived at the Agreste mansion, Gabriel was apparently too busy to see her.Â
He was too occupied with searching through boxes of fake miraculous to find Duusu to bother with her.Â
âI donât have time for you.âÂ
âExcuse me?!âÂ
She was aghast. How dare he speak this way to his biggest supporter âwell, besides Mayura and Nathalie.Â
âYouâre excused. Now leave the premises.â
Before the door shut in her face and she was left fuming, her face an unflattering angry red.Â
.
Being Damianâs boyfriend, Adrien has come to learn that Damian does nothing by halves. Including asking him out on a date. And the actual dates themselves.Â
Today as the sun fell down and night came about, Damian and Adrien were taking a stroll in the park. It was relaxing and it was nice. They talked about everything and anything.Â
Adrien did not think Damian planned anything more.Â
But he really shouldnât underestimate the son of Batman.Â
Because when the last of the sunâs rays were gone, Damian led him to a gazebo strung up with beautiful lights giving the whole place an ethereal feel. And with the bright moon out tonight, it looked like fairies dancing in the garden.Â
He didnât notice Damian pressed play on his phone and classical music filled the air.Â
He definitely noticed Damian bowing with a flourished and holding out his hand with a charming smile. âMay I have this dance, Chaton?â
Adrien would have to be a huge fool to say no.Â
âIâll loved to.â He placed his hand in Damianâs and let the Adonis lead him in a simple waltz.Â
This was his life.Â
His life was one big sappy romance novel. And you know what, he doesnât care if it is. Between dealing with his shitty father and Liar-la, this kitty deserves some happiness.Â
.
It was a scene from one of those Disney fairy tale movies Adrien used to watch as kid. The magic. The love. The romantics. He felt like Cinderella and wished this night will never end, that the clock will never strike midnight. He just wanted to stay in his Prince Charmingâs arms forever.Â
Under the starry night sky, the lovebirds danced to their heartâs content and when another song ended, Damian tilted his head down to place a tender kiss on Adrienâs lips.Â
âI harbor a great deal of non-platonic affections for you, mon amour.â
âI love you too, Hot-And-Sexy.âÂ
.
What the fuck?!
Seriously.Â
What the actual fuck?Â
Lila was simply walking home after her disastrous meeting with Gabriel (She was still not over how he simply dismissed her like she was nothing. How dare he).Â
When she saw them.Â
Adrien and some guy (sheâs pretty sure that was a guy)Â dancing in the park. She can feel that disgusting jealousy just burning in her veins, a cold anger thrumming underneath.Â
Things were not at all going her way.Â
First, Adrien is back to being friends with that Mari-whore. Then, Gabriel ignores her. Her. And now, she is seeing her Adrien in the arms of someone else.Â
Oh this will just not do.Â
She took out her phone from her pocket and snapped a couple of pictures, making sure Adrien can clearly be seen. She didnât care too much about the other guy. Heâs probably just another pretty airhead Adrien knew through his father. Heâs not important.Â
A cruel smirk appeared on her face at the thought of the perfect revenge. Adrien was going to have a rough time at school tomorrow. After all, he shouldâve known better than to make a move against her.Â
.
âSeriously?!â
âWow.âÂ
âIâm sure thereâs an explanation for this.â
âYeah. Adrien is obviously gay. Thatâs the only explanation.âÂ
â....Maybe not? There could be another reason.â
Lila had watery eyes and a sad frown on her face but inside, she was fucking smiling like a Cheshire cat. She made sure to be at school early so she can show the class the picture of Adrienâs little date last night. Who âpredictablyâ were shocked at their sunshine child being with a guy and made plans to confront him about his supposed sexuality.Â
She glowed at the thought of her plan working. This will teach Adrien to know his place or become a social pariah like his little friend Marinette.Â
âI thought Adrien had feelings for me.â Lila wiped the âtearsâ from her eyes. âHow could he lead me on like this when heâs been gay all along?âÂ
Alya âpredictablyâ comforted her. âIâm pretty sure heâs just confused. He doesnât know what heâs feeling.â
âIâm sure thatâs it.âÂ
The pair didnât notice Juleka and Rose glaring at them.Â
.
Damian was not at all pleased.Â
He was rightfully angry.Â
How dare that poor sense of fashion taste trollop tried to shame his mon amour for being gay. How dare she try to say he was simply confused and didnât know any better. How dare she defame his reputation because he holds nothing but spite for her person.Â
How dare she.Â
As Adrienâs boyfriend and future husband, it is his duty to correct this travesty and defend his Chatonâs honor.Â
.
When the Damian Wayne, youngest son of Bruce Wayne, appeared at Françoise Dupont High School, you know that people are gonna stare and talk.Â
When he headed towards the courtyard where Adrien and Marinette were sitting at, boy are things going to get juicy.Â
Lila and her followers who were sitting a bit father from the outcast pair were utterly confused. They could possibly get Adrien knowing such a super hot celebrity but for him to be on good terms with Marinette too? How inconceivable. Absolutely flabbergasted.Â
âHey Lila didnât you tell us you knew him and his family?â Max brought up.Â
âUhhh....â Lila knew she dug herself in a corner here. She never thought that the Damian Wayne would ever visit here. At this second rate school.Â
âWell, letâs go, girl!â Alya exclaimed. âIâm sure Damian just hasnât seen you. Thatâs why he didnât walk towards you.â
Before proceeding to practically drag Lila to where Damian was talking with Adrien and Marinette.Â
Lila, on the other hand, was cursing out Alya in a bunch of different languages in her mind while trying to come up with something to dig herself out of this mess. If they talk to Wayne, the class will realize she was lying all along.Â
She was not going to lose control of her kingdom like this âwell, not without putting up a fight.Â
But when they and the rest of their classmates walked close to the trio, they were shocked when they saw Marinette playfully punching Damian in the arm.Â
âOkay. How the hell are you so close with Damian Wayne?â Straight off the bat, Alya was on the offense as she glared at Marinette as if it was Mari who did something wrong.Â
Damian answered before the bluenette could. His face was impassive and his glare cold. âIâm Ms. Dupain-Chengâs top model for her fashion business.â
What?Â
Even Lila was taken aback at the news. She knew that goody two shoes likes designing but she didnât think anybody would actual buy her stuff. She didnât think a Wayne would like her stuff.Â
She could feel her fists clenched. How dare Marinette steal the spotlight again.Â
âIâm also Adrienâs boyfriend.â Damian continued casually as if that wasnât a huge bombshell.Â
Everyoneâs minds screeched to a halt.Â
They knew about the possibility of Adrien being gay since Lila showed him on going on a date with an unidentified but clearly male person yesterday. But they didnât think there was actually something there.Â
Lila could feel her anger clouding her mind. Adrien was supposed to be hers. He was her ticket to fame and fortune.Â
âAnd what about Lila? Arenât you guys best friends?â Alya put her hands on her hips. How could Damian just ignore someone he is close friends with but give Marinette all the attention? Lila deserves better than that. Â
Damian was unamused. âI donât know her.â
âYeah, you do.â Alya ignored Lilaâs gestures to stop talking. Lila was too shy about her achievements and she was going to have her amazing best friendâs back. âSheâs the one who helped your family out multiple times.â
âShe did not. And I am appalled that you believe I would know a harlot like her in the first place.â Damianâs face twisted with disgust as he glanced at Liar-la like she was a mere insect. âPlease. I have class and dignity.â
âTake that back!â She screeched. âYou are so rude.âÂ
âAre you honestly going to lecture me on my rudeness when you plebians are being hypocrites?â
âWhat? Iâm not a hyprocrite.âÂ
âLila Rossi is a pathetic liar who begs for attention like street dogs beg for scraps. She never once saved Jaggedâs cat nor does she help out with green charities. Lastly, she is not on close terms with myself nor with my family.â
âNo! Youâre lying!â
He raised an unimpressed eyebrow. âOk then. Look her up on the internet. If she is as grand as you lot seem to think, she should have articles dedicated to her. Show me proof of her actions that isnât your subpar blog and I will give you an exclusive.âÂ
Alyaâs eyes gleamed at what should be an easy challenge. But when she pulled out her phone and typed Lilaâs name and what she did in the search engine, her smile disappeared.Â
She spent the next few minutes scouring the net for anything, any mention of a Lila Rossi that wasnât on the LadyBlog.Â
She found nothing.Â
Lila Rossi was a fucking liar all along. And Alya and the rest of the class believed her.Â
âWe tried to warn you.â Marinette said in a soft voice. But anyone who knew her knew she was trying to hold back her laughter.Â
âMarinette,â Rose cried out as she realized the class has been total jerks to the one person who always had their backs. âWe were horribly wrong. Can you ever forgive us?â
She shrugged. âI forgive you. But this doesnât mean weâre friends again. Because weâre not. Seeing how easily you drop me for that liar without even looking for any kind of proof hurts and Iâm not eager to be friends again. Maybe in the future but not right now.â
âThatâs goes ditto for me.â Adrien added his two cents.Â
Their former friends classmates wore gloomy expressions, utterly devastated at ruining their friendship with their Everyday Ladybug and Sunshine Child.Â
And with that, Adrien and Marinette left the courtyard, with light hearts and heads held high.Â
Damian shot the class a razor sharp grin. âWell, itâs been nice to meet you.âÂ
Everyone knew he meant anything but.Â
âI always knew teenagers were prone to be foolish imbeciles. But seeing the collective stupidity of you people today made me realize that the bar can in fact be lowered.âÂ
.
Adrien was fucking ecstatic.Â
Elated. Overjoyed. Jubilant. Drunk on happiness. All the synonyms associated.Â
Because Lila was finally exposed. The class realized what utter assholes they have been. His father will receive his due (soon according to Mari and Dami).Â
He was happily humming a tune as he swung his and Damianâs intertwined hands back and forth.Â
He was entirely grateful that Damian showed up to school today. Although he was a bit mean for Adrienâs taste.Â
But oh man. Payback was so sweet.Â
He smiled giddily.Â
Mister Hot-And-Sexy definitely earned himself a kiss.Â

I only have my self to blame...
Frankie Morales x you ficÂ
Tags: A lot of cursing. So much cursing. Drug use. Angst. Â
Summary: I kept thinking about the coke rap they mention in the story. And I thought, what if Frankie was innocent? So most of this is about that, with a tense change so that when the reader enters the picture, itâs âyouâ -- no y/n.
I have never written a fic before. I am no nervous AT ALL. But I wanted to give something back, even though itâs not really romantic. I logged into my laptop so I could use cuts. XD I am ashamed at how long it took me to remember my password.
2,083 words.
It was, really, a bullshit coke rap, but it was still Frankieâs fault. Â He was flying one of the bossâs nicer planes, a pretty little Cessna Caravan, fitted out for luxury in the back, a curtain separating the pilot from the main cabin. Â The curtain was partly folded back, so the rich folks in the cabin behind him with their booze, lounging in their leather seats donât have to stare at the back of Frankieâs tousled, ball cap covered head. Â
It also meant that he could hear what they were saying, the headset over one ear was quiet, but heâd already decided they were a bag of dicks and he wasnât going to pay attention to them, as they laughed like a bunch of frat boys behind him. Â There was a mirror, angled so he could see what was going on, and once in awhile heâd look. Â There were five men and one woman, the men acting like a bunch of frat boys, the woman trying to pretend she was amused.
Frankie knew, of course, that the trouble was men like that made that secret chip on his shoulder come out. The one he tried to ignore.  Because Iâm better than that, right?  They ainât got nothing that I want.  But they did.  They didnât have to worry about moneyâŠthey didnât have a new baby to worry about, they didnât have to play the game of if-I-pay-this-bill-I-can-pretend-I-didnât-get-that-one.  He was tired, worried about his lady, scared that he was going to fucking fail her, fail their little girl, Luna. Â
He let out a long, pent up sigh. Â He itched to put on some music, was considering it when the shuffle of curtain fabric told him he was no longer alone.
The sole woman from the back gave him a shy smile.  âDo you mind? Theyâre acting like idiots back there.â She had a stylish, blunt cut, a white button shirt and a short, black skirt.  Everything was fitted perfectly so the clothes molded against her.  It looked polished rather than cheap.  He smiled politely  and shrugged as she arranged herself gracefully into the copilot chair.
âSo, you said your name was Frankie?â Â She reached out with a foot and nudged his chair. Â Sheâd shed her high heels, and, despite the shortness of her skirt was gathering her legs under her. Â
Lady, you might as well have a danger sign around your neck. Â He nodded, feeling a little out of his depth. Â
âMacey. Â Pleasure to meet you. Â You been a pilot long?â
He nodded.
âYou donât speak much, do you?â Â She was flirty enough that even he, usually captain obvious, caught on.
He gave her a sidelong look. âIâm trying to figure out how to slip the face I have a wife and kid into the conversation.â  Wife was a stretch.  He wanted to marry you, he dreamed about it.  He wanted to give you everything â a nice ring, a pretty dress. A day to be a be special, to feel loved. Proof to all your  friends and family that he could take care of you, that he was worthy.  He was scraping up money, setting it aside.  If he didnât go for a diamond, maybe he could get her something else nice. Maybe an opal.  Opal rings couldnât be that expensive, right?
She laughed. Â âSorry. Â Iâm bored.â She held up a hand. Â âScoutâs honor, I will do nothing to hurt your marriage.â
He gave her a grin. Â âWell, then, tell me a story.â
âA story?â
âYeah.  Once we touch down inâŠâ  He looked at the time âAbout two hours, we wonât see each other again. So tell me a story.  Something youâve always wanted to tell someone, but you couldnât.â
She arched an eyebrow provocatively.
âNot like that, not a secret. Â Just a story you want to tell. Â Can be anything, I donât care.â
She looked bemused for a second. Â Then she starts, haltingly, as if sheâs never had t actually make real conversation. Â As if sheâs never had anyone to listen to her. Â And the thing is, sheâs funny. Â Clever. He finds himself laughing as he does his thing, even throwing back a couple of smart remarks of his own. Â She has a gift of making him feel like he has a wicked sense of humor, and for a little bit, the cares heâs been harboring fall silent. Â
So does the cabin behind him, once. Â He has a mirror, set low, so he can see behind him. Â The ringleader of the group is glaring at him, not looking too happy.
Well, fuck him. What can he do? Â
A lot, apparently.
They land, and Macey gets up to go out the back. Â âThanks, Frankie. Â Good luck with everything.â
âYou, too, thanks for passing the time with me,â he says, and sets about the tasks. Â He checks gauges, writes things down, and finally, goes back and checks over the cabin. Â He gets out a basin from a cabinet and puts the used rocks glasses in it. Â He wonât wash them â heâll just dump the basin on the sideboard inside the hanger. Â He doesnât have to do the cleaning, but Allie, the janitor who usually cleaned up the planes, had hurt her back and everything, like picking up candy bar wrappers and throwing them away, checking the seats to see if anything had been left behind was an extra chore she did not need.
The plastic baggy was almost invisible against the beige leather of the seats. Â He picked it up, made a shocked little huff, like heâd put his hand on a snake. Â Coke. A pretty good amount of it, too. The old craving raised its head, making his hand shake a little. Â He heard voices, and shoved the baggy in his pocket. Â Iâll pitch it. Â He had to take a leak, anyway, heâd go, flush that garbage down the toilet, and there. Done. Â He wasnât that man any more. Â It was the one thing he could do for you.
He grabbed the waste basket and put it next to the door, grabbed the tub of glasses and put it under his arm.
âFrankie? Â You in there?â
âYeah, bossâŠcoming.â  Snagging the clipboard to put on top of the glasses so heâd have a free hand if he needed it, he went down the steps and onto the tarmac.
Hector stood there, hands in his pockets, looking ore hang dog than usual. Â âYeah, boss?â
âThe passengers said you were flying high, Frankie.â
That stopped him dead, like to concussion from a bomb, hitting his face and chest and taking out the air in his lungs.  âWhat? No, Iâd neverâŠâ Â
âThey said that they saw you â just before take off.  And you know, I donât want to believe it, but looking at your eyesâŠthey do look awful red.â
âIâve been up late with Luna.  Sheâs not been sleeping that great, and I canât leave it all onâŠâ
Hector nodded, as if he believed him, but Frankie had a feeling he didnât. Â Heâd give real money to know exactly what the fuck had been said. âTurn out your pockets, Frankie.â
You jackass. Â Â He attacked himself. Â Did you really think they just accidentally left that much coke behind? You fucking jackass. Â âI found some shit they left behind, but you gotta believe me, Hector, I am clean. Â Iâve been clean for a couple years now.â
âJust show me your pockets, son, then we can just leave this behind.â
He took the coke out. âI told you, I found it on the plane.â
Hector shook his head, and started to walk away. Â
âLook, Iâll take a test.â He jogged a little, caught the other manâs arm. Â âSeriously. You can watch to make sure Iâm not cheating. Â Youâll see. Iâm clean. Â Iâll take a drug test right now.â
âYou just happened to find a baggy of coke? Â That the passengers happened to leave behind? Â And why would they accuse you, if itâs not true?â
Frankie dropped his hand. I guess you wouldnât believe me if I said some asshole thought I was flirting with his girl and thought heâd get back at meâŠhell, Iâm not sure I believe it.
âIâll be reporting you. Theyâll suspend you.  Maybe they will go easy on you, you being a Vet and this being your first offenseâŠbut you need to clean out your locker.  Iâll write a check for what we owe you.â
âIâŠI need this job.â He could hear an edge of pleading in his voice, and he hated it, but heâd go down on his fucking knees and beg if he had to.
Hectorâs eyes hardened. âAnd I donât need to send a druggie up in one of my planes.â
**
Frankie took the back roads home. Â There was an old farm gate, a place where he could pull off the road and stare, blindly, at overgrown fields. Â
âWhat am I gonna do?â He whispered, over and over, like a mantra. Â âWhat am I gonna fucking do?â Â His hands clutched the steering wheel, knuckles white. Â He could barely breathe, and when the words wouldnât come he just sat there, panting, beating his head against the steering when and wondering how heâd survive this.
When his breathing steadied, he got back on the road, and went home. Â It was the only thing he could do.
You knew something was wrong, he could see it, but he wasnât being exactly subtle, pressing his spine against the doorframe like he was ready to run.
âHey baby,â you say, and he smiles a little. Â Tries, anyway.
âWhereâs Luna?â Â Heâs surprised how hoarse his voice is. Â He shouldnât be. Â Heâd been in some bad situations, but heâd never felt this a drift, this terrified.
âLaying down.â Â You say it sweetly, like everything is OK. Â Youâre cooking bread in the over, somethingâs in the crock pot and everything smells like home and like everything left to lose.
You lean against the sink. If you reached out, you could almost touch him, but you donât. Â Thereâs a look in your eyes, like Frankie is a wild animal, easily spooked and so youâre going to move slow and careful.
âI lost my job.â Â He says it so quietly heâs not sure you heard, until your shoulders drop a little. Â
âOh, honey, what happened?â No recrimination. Â Not yet. Â You take a step closer to him.
So he tells you. Â He doesnât lie, just lays it all out there. Â Not looking at you, not daring to, instead staring at the refrigerator door and all the magnets and photos and clutter. Â But seeing them, either.
âHe didnât believe you?â You practically shriek it out.  âWhat the fuckâŠyouâve been an awesome employee for what?  A year and a half now  and he wouldnât even let you take a damned test to let you prove yourself? Seriously?  Iâm going to kick his assâŠâ
The baby monitor interrupts her, Luna making fitful little noises. Â After all, the house was not that big. Â You hold a finger up to Frankie. Â âHold that thought.â Â You leave the kitchen, shaking your head, and Frankie stands there, feeling like heâs on the edge of the precipice. Â
âAh, Luna, baby, whatâs wrong?â Â He can hear you, a much gentler, sweeter voice echoing out of the monitor. Â He stands over it, hands clutching the counter on either side of it, listening. Â You are both everything to him. Â Everything.
He listens to you say nonsense as you change the little baby, to you muttering about how such a tiny, adorable thing can smell so bad. Â âYou must get it from your daddy,â Â you say a little louder, as if you know Frankie is there, listening, and he grins a little.
He doesnât move, when you come back out into the kitchen, when you wrap your arms around him. Â You hug him tight and he starts to feel a little less adrift. Â
He turns, looks down into your eyes. Â âYou believe me?â Â Puts his arms around you carefully, like heâs still not sure of his reception, because he still doesnât feel like he deserves this, the right to touch you. Â
You reach up and cradle his cheek. Â âAlways, mi vida. Â Always.â And he starts shaking, and he starts crying and he buries his face in your neck so you canât see, and you toss aside the ball cap so you can stroke his hair. Â âItâs going to be alright, honey. Â Weâll figure it out. Â Its going to be alright.â

Hanna, episode 3
1. Again with the pretty. I absolutely love that first shot with them all coming up and onto the street. It all makes me want to go to Germany in a way that other seasons didnât do in quite the same way. Iâd forgotten just how much I genuinely love the cinematography of this season. I sound like a stuck record, but itâs so pretty and it fits Hanna so well, and it makes me happy.
2. Yikes this conversation with Jonas is sooooo ugh. It starts well with him apologising. But then he totally undercuts it with the whole âwe only spend time by ourselves lately, why donât you hang with friends?â thing. Like buddy, dude, pal. Jonas, my man. When you plan a romantic getaway with your girlfriend itâs not a normal everyday hang out situation, she has every right to be pissed and this line of conversation is SO off. Stop trying to deflect the blame onto her and take some damn responsibility for your shitty behaviour over the last few days. Making her feel terrible for having no friends is the absolute worst way to âmake upâ for being such a dick the last week. He tries to turn it around later, but... you know. This whole thing really does seem to be trying to palm off his responsibility to her and make it all about her deficits when this entire trouble has been because he hasnât been caring for what she really needs and is close to entirely focused on himself and his friends. No sweet talking can cover over that part. Not forever. Which is partly why everything shatters later.
3. This âmessaging Miaâ thing is again so damn gay. What we could have had.... I mean I know a lot of people saw this in Noora and Eva, but even so. Cutting from the thing with Jonas to this nervous âhow do I chat up the cute girl?â vibe fits so well with a storyline that involves figuring out how badly the guy youâre seeing is treating you (even if you have this good chemistry with him) and finding a better fit with a lovely, supportive girl. She even has a special little âMia smileâ which she gets when sheâs trying to connect, and the panic when she tries to explain her first message... Itâs all sooooooo gaaaaaay. It could have been so GOOD. Le sigh. Eh. Maybe I should write this sometime.
4. Okay so Iâve mostly been focused on the Jonas situation before, so I never really mentioned Kiki. But she honestly is such a good character. Vilde always bugged me in some way and I have no idea why. But Kiki never felt like that to me. The way she just goes âoh the girl from the toilet - we are now mates, I shall kiss her cheeksâ is so endearing. And Sam works too. You can kind of see why theyâre friends which I never really did get with Chris and Vilde (imo Chris feels like a better match/fit with Sana and I really really miss them connecting in Sanaâs season - but thatâs something to talk about more when I get to Amira). Anyway, I always liked these girls together. And I forgot how enthusiastic Kiki is here. And, as much as I really like Leonie and Sara in later seasons, once theyâve grown up a bit, they really do work as the mean girls here. The acting is pretty spot on. Leonie does a great job of the âhurt so Iâm lashing outâ thing alongside being kind of getting off on being in control, and Sara is a wonderful support for her. Their friendship works and makes sense too. Again, Druck is able to build on the work done by the original and I donât want to discredit any of the groundwork that was done because itâs always easier to refine than to start fresh. But the dynamics of the groups Druck has created work so well for me, and when they sort of combine by season 4 it makes sense. They drift closer and the various relationships have so clearly been crafted with care to be able to do that. It feels like this was always the intention - so many very small things change and those tiny changes make for something quite different.
5. I donât really understand why Kiki, Sam and Mia are treated the way they are around heroesparty jobs, though. Hanna is obvious and Amira could be because Leonie and Sara are harbouring the same biases as the welcoming committee people. But Mia, while not understanding, seems cool enough and Kiki and Sam donât seem to be any different from the other people. Unless Leonie really is so petty that she really enjoyed playing with Kiki, promising her the best job and giving her the worst one. Either way, I really do love the visual of them all just sitting by themselves surrounded by all the chairs and kind of starting to gel because of that. This is a nice spin on the original which actually works in this context and I love that they did this as the way to join our girls into a crew.
6. As with William, I do not understand how these girls look at Alex and think heâs all that. I guess Iâm not the right demographic because this type of guy has never appealed to me, and the way they both dress also leaves me cold. But it is genuinely funny in both the original and here the way these girls just about fall all over themselves over this guy. And the way Kiki sighs his name like itâs a gift in itself? Comedy gold.
7. Spanish class. Gay. So gay. Both of them. The smiling, the hearteyes, the flirting!!! But I feel again like Iâm a broken record with this. So Iâll leave it at that. And maybe do some frustrated fic writing at some point. The urge is getting stronger...
Anyway, overall, I really like this episode as a start to this friendship. Kikiâs attitude to Amira is so cringey and terrible, but Amira just holds her own in such a nice way. And Hanna. My lovely Hanna. Itâs so nice to see her supported and accepted. She barely knows these girls and yet she seems happier and more comfortable around them (particularly Mia, ahem) than she does around her other friends, who are tbh more like Jonasâs friends and who really arenât very nice to her. Iâve said it before and Iâll say it again - the format of this show (thank you, Skam!!) works so well because Hanna as a character works so well. Weâre so tight in on her, and the way sheâs played - the charm, the vulnerability, the way she feels so real - makes this season. There are still some wobbles with some bits but overall itâs working and itâs working well. Because of this character, because of her actor, because of the cinematography which is still a delight, and because when it changes things it makes those changes thoughtfully and with purpose. And I like that. A lot. Â

Chronicles of Galar - Chapter 1: New friends & A Cliffhanger
This is the first real chapter of the fic. Here you are introduced to Raihan and Taiko, when you explore Hammerlocke with Sonia. Something with Leon is up to, can you help him?
It had been two weeks since you had met Leon and during these two weeks you saw each other again in person when you were visiting Professor Magnolia to begin your official start through the Galar region with your family. You met the elderly lady, the professor herself, her granddaughter Sonia and Hop, the younger brother of Leon. Back then in the Slumbering Weald you had only seen Hop briefly, but when you met again in the laboratory you got to know each other properly. Mamoru was currently away with President Rose, to whom he wanted to demonstrate a newly developed technology that would make it possible to teleport people over a very long distance. This process should be environmentally friendly and affordable, which is why the prospective professor even invited your father, Professor [L/n] from Amila, to Galar to win Rose as a financial sponsor. After all, Rose was also concerned about the environment and energy supply and with these arguments, Mamoru wanted to convince with his invention.
You, on the other hand, were in Hammerlocke with Sonia. This city was known for the fact that the mythology about the creation of the Galar region by two unknown kings originated there. Every historian visits the old "castle" in Hammerlocke for his research and of course you were also interested in finding out more about this region.
âAnd here you can see another mosaic. It shows a sword and a shield. These are said to have been the weapons with which the kings saved this land from disaster. Unfortunately I couldn't decipher all the cryptic letters yet, but I think the disaster had something to do with dynamaxing .. ", Sonia explained and crossed her arms thoughtfully. "Why do you think that?", You wanted to know and looked at the mosaic for a while. You couldn't figure it all out. "This shimmering reddish light, in front of the kings .. That could be a Dynamax light column, don't you think so?", the orange-haired woman asked. "Mhm. I've already heard about it, but to be honest, I haven't seen any of these pillars of light in person, so ... I have no idea. ", You answered. "You didn't? Oh, that's easy to change. The Wild Area borders on this city. We can ask Raihan to give you a little demonstration in a wild dynamax fight. " "Raihan?"
âThe gym leader of this city. And a childhood friend of Leon and me. ", Sonia said and saw you stiffen for a moment. "..Is everything alright?", She spoke irritated and blinked perplexed. "Huh? Yes of course..!! Haha. I didn't even know that you knew Leon that well. ", You smiled somewhat troubled and waved her off. "And .. Raihan, Leon and you .. you were really good friends?",You asked. Sonia blinked even more and tilted her head slightly. "Err ... we are still good friends?", She said and noticed how you were getting a little tense. "And .. is there .. somehow more between you? So .. I mean .. uhm .. boyfriend-girlfriend like ..? ", you mumbled. "No, Raihan and I are not lovers.", Sonia laughed and you sighed softly, because you didn't mean Raihan at all. Now the assistant professor suddenly became aware of something. Â âOh. No, there is absolutely nothing going on between Leon and me, if that worries you. ", She giggled and winked. "Uh .. Uhm why should that worry me? Haha. I've only known him for two weeks. "
"Then why are you blushing?"
"I'm not blushing at all ..!"
"..."
Sonia shook her head in amusement and cleared her throat. âNo, really now. Leon and I are just friends. No more and no less. I have no romantic interest in him. And he has none in me. ", She assured you. "..."
You didn't wanted to admit it, but this confirmation calmed you down a bit and you could have slapped yourself for feeling that way ..
So after that was resolved, the two of you went to the gym to find Raihan. Though you only found the young talented trainers that Raihan had in his gym. They were practicing on the court with their Dragon Pokemon and they looked so motivated and happy. However, there seemed to be no trace of the gym leader himself, which surprised Sonia a little. âWait here, I'll take a look around the gym. He's probably sitting around, being lazy again somewhere and playing on his smartphone .. â, the orange-haired sighed, making you laughing uncertainly. "How did someone like that become a gym leader?"
âBy losing to Leon in the final cup. He scored as second and has been defending this place for 10 years while trying to take Leon's championship title. ", Sonia explained and then apologized to leave you there and look around for the idler.
Just standing around in the stands bored you after a few minutes, so you decided to explore the gym on your own. To compete against the young talents of the final gym in the Galar Challenge would certainly be an exciting experience. You didn't take part in this challenge yourself, but you definitely didn't shy away from fights.
You walked a little through the corridors and rooms, watched the trainers fight and raise their dragons with interest, and you even learned a little about Dragapult, a dragon pokemon from this region. And which, according to the information on the information sheet above the life-size statue in the 'gift shop' of the gym, was also a team Pokemon of Leon. Why does a gym need a gift shop at all, was something you preferred not to question. This Raihan guy seemed like a very weird dude, but maybe that was what made him likeable? Just as you were about to go back to the stands and left the gift shop, you saw a leg-length, green creature scurrying past. It looked like a .. Fraxure? The first evolution of the Pokemon Axew, you noticed, before a female voice got your attention. âAaaaah don't walk into the shop again! Raihan is going to get mad ..! Hey you over there, can you please help me to catch this Pokemon? âa red-haired young woman, around 17-19 years old, called after you. She waved her hands in panic and tripped over one of her open shoelaces while running. As a result, she fell on her bum and sighed in annoyance. "Today sucks ..!" She muttered and pouted. You blinked and saw the Fraxure curiously sniffing at one of the souvenirs, a Flapple music box, and picking it up. âNoooo, put that back! It's fragile!!! Argh, why doesn't it obey? ", The red-haired woman shouted in frustration and ruffled her own hair as if she wanted to pull it out.
You smiled and then ran to Fraxure to gently take the music box out of it's claws and pat the Pokemon over it's head. "Well, well. That doesn't belong to you.", You rebuked and the red-haired woman used the moment to run to you and pull the Fraxure into her arms. "Gotcha, you runaway !!! Thank you for your help, miss. ", The redhead thanked you, relieved. "Oh, I actually didn't do anything. And no need for formalities. We're about the same age, âyou waved off. âMy name is [Y/n]. â, You introduced yourself and held out your hand to the stranger for a greeting. The girl smiled broadly and tried to adjust Fraxure between her arms to accept this gesture and shake your hand. "I'm Taiko! And this cheeky little guy here is a Pokemon from Raihan, our gym leader. But he entrusted it to me today so that I could learn how to tame dragon pokemon. âTaiko then explained. "... It doesn't work so well, huh?", You smirked and Taiko blinked before you pointed with your finger at Taiko's stomach area. The redhead looked down and now she also saw that the dragon pokemon had already made itself independent again and tried to run straight out of the gym. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Taiko shouted and ran after the Pokemon, but then the door suddenly opened and Taiko fell into the strong arms of a suntanned man. You blinked and looked at the man. He wore an orange-red headband, which covered his hair except for a dark braid. In addition, he partly wore the jersey of the gym trainers and over it a thick sweatshirt, which vaguely resembled a dragon. He grinned and looked down at the redhead, whose nose was now buried in his chest. A pointed fang-like tooth protruded from this grin and he smacked the younger one on the back in amusement. "I actually thought you were training the Fraxure and not the other way around." He teased her and when Taiko looked up pouting, he pinched her cheeks and pulled them apart slightly, as if he was talking to a child. "Stop it, Raihan .."
Ah, so that was Raihan. You smiled, because that's exactly how you had imagined him after Sonia's stories. Raihan laughed and then looked at you. "A friend of yours?" He wanted to know. "Uh .. you could say so.", Taiko laughed, which made you blink. "Uhm not really. We just got to know each other because the Fraxure almost ran into my arms. ", you clarified. âWell, then we got to know each other better. Because I always make friends with everyone I get to know! So that's a warning. ", Taiko winked and you smiled. That was an extremely lively girl. Through and through sympathetic and a nice change from the other redheads you knew (Aki was a redhead) .. Not that you didn't appreciate your sister-in-law, but she was sometimes a little too serious and grown up for the jokes that you and your brother liked to hatch. With Taiko, you felt like she was a massive mood cannon. "Understood. I have no objection to that. ", You laughed then and Raihan grinned wider as he casually called the Fraxure back into the Pokeball. âWell, then I would like to introduce myself officially. My name is Raihan and I'm the gym leader of the Hammerlocke gym. ", He flirty-winked, which reminded you a bit that he tried to hit on you. "Errr .."
Taiko poked him lightly in the side, then turned to her new self-proclaimed friend, aka you. âRaihan is a playful idiot. If he tries to flirt with you, just don't take it seriously. Because he never means it seriously. ", She warned. Raihan twisted the corner of his mouth and crossed his arms behind his head. âYou don't need to get jealous, Taiko. You know that you are my number 1 girl. ", He then spoke teasingly, whereupon a shoe flew in his direction. Taiko's blushing face showed anger and embarassment and she hobbled over to pick up her shoe. "Idiot.", She said and you briefly hesitated until you saw that they were both laughing with each other. That calmed you. It was just mutual teasing. These two seemed really close, you thought with a smile.
Sonia was finally back and Raihan was allowed to listen to a lecture about the obligations of a gym leader, because apparently nobody in the gym knew that the dragon tamer was simply absent for hours because he - Quote from Raihan: an important event of one of his mobile games where you had to find hidden clues in different parts of Hammerlocke. (Something like a mix of Pokemon GO and the Harry Potter mobile game that use real locations)
After that, of course, he was more than happy to show you a Dynamax raid fight in the wild area. If the wild area had not been partially closed due to a strong storm. Well then that had to be postponed. You used the time, to learn more about the history of Galar, with Sonia and also with Taiko's help and you got to know each other better. âSo you come from Johto? And your mother works at Ho-Oh's temple in Ecruteak City? Then you surely have an Eevee development too, right? ", You wanted to know with interest when Sonia and Raihan got some books from the library. "Yes, exactly. I was supposed to work as a geisha, too, but .. That just wasn't my thing. I need some action. That's why I came here to Galar. You know, my family took a vacation here 10 years ago and Raihan saved me in the Wild Area. We've been in touch ever since, and when I was finally old enough to travel I came here straight away! .. Well, almost immediately. Haha. I came here when I was 14 after starting my journey in Johto. Mother said that I should first really get to know my home region before I set off for foreign regions. "
"And it took you 4 years for it?", You interrupted her with a smile. "... Well, you can count 2 years less of secret trips to Galar to hang out with Raihan. Yes. ", Taiko mumbled and nudged her index fingers together. You had to laugh gently. "Wow and you're not married yet, after all the meetings and teasing each other?" You asked. Taiko went bright red in the face and gestured with her hands in panic. "Huuh? Why do we should be married? We .. we're not a couple .. â, the tomboy defended herself vigorously. Your smirk went wider. âYou like each other alot. A blind man can see that. I was watching Raihan when you ran into his arms. That affected look he gave you. He would probably never admit it. And you also have butterfrees in your stomach when he's with you. ",You stated. âAhahaha, you have a blooming imagination. Raihan and I are just friends. Who wants such an idiot as a boyfriend! He's always on his cell phone. And he has absolutely no sense of responsibility. He leaves the trainers under my supervision all the time and then disappears for hours .. ", Taiko sighed. "But doesn't that mean how much trust he has in you when he entrusts his students to you?" You then asked. Taiko blinked and crossed her arms. âI haven't seen it that way yet .. But .. he always shifts his work on to others. And then has fun in some nightclubs .. He's probably also dragging every chick he meets in his bedroom .. ", the redhead spoke lowly, gritting her teeth and clenching her hand into a fist. You smiled. "I don't know Raihan that well yet, and of course I don't know you either, but .. I don't think he's the kind of guy who is like that and sleeps with many women. Of course, he has a certain .. charm about himself and he also seems to like to flirt, but .. Mhm no, I wouldn't trust him to have flings. My knowledge of human nature has never disappointed me â, you assured her. "Do you think so?" Taiko asked and her face showed traces of relief. Now you had to giggle again. âAnd now you've definitely given yourself away. You're ... totally in love with Raihan. "
"I'm not.."
"Who's in love with whom?" a male voice asked behind you and Taiko winced because it was Raihan's voice. You turned around and saw Raihan with a mountain of books in his arms. Next to him was Sonia, who also carried some books and eyed both of you curiously. "Ah. [Y/n] has a crush on⊠uh .. the Slowpoke-Guy * from the new sitcom. âTaiko quickly made up and saw how your facial features derailed. Raihan blinked and laughed, which made him drop the books. "Really? This guy's such a troll. He's running around in a Slowpoke costume and looks totally retarded. ", Raihan laughed and was hit with a book by Sonia for dropping the books. "Err .. That was just a joke of her. We actually talked about Hop getting along pretty well with his neighbor Gloria. And we have the feeling that they are in love with each other. ", You said then and saw Taiko smile gratefully. You could have whipped your red-haired new acquaintance over, especially after this thing with the Slowpoke Dude.
"I see? Well, the two of them are cute together. But still a little too young for a serious relationship for my taste. ", Raihan thought. "Define 'serious relationship'.", Sonia interfered and Raihan looked at her with a slight grin. "Sex."
"..."
You cleared your throat and also Taiko seemed a little embarrassed by the directness of her crush. âSex isn't the most important thing in a relationship. At that age, it's perfectly normal to have your first boyfriend or girlfriend. Apart from kissing and holding hands, nothing happens. ", You considered. "How boring.", Raihan just said and crossed his arms behind his back. âHave you ever been in a committed relationship, Raihan? As far as I know, every woman turns you down because of your stupid pick-up lines .. ", Sonia sighed, shaking her head. Raihan looked at her and looked briefly offended. âHey, they're not stupid! My pick-up lines are great. â, The dark-skinned man then protested. "Oh yes? Then let me hear them. ", You suggested and smiled. Admittedly, these Galar acquaintances were sometimes really crazy people, but that's exactly what you loved. You had the feeling that you will be very good friends with these people ..
"Are there any other sights in town, besides you?" Raihan grinned with a sexy wink and a finger pistol gesture. "...Seriously?"
"Wait, I have another one! When God created you, he sure wanted to show off. ", Raihan tried again. But all in response from the three women was a mutual giggle. âOh god, the pick-up-lines are so bad. Hahaha, my little brother Kaito can do them better. ", You giggled and shook your head amused. Sonia laughed too and Taiko smiled too, but you could tell that she was slightly uncomfortable about the subject. "Okay okay. That was really bad. But maybe I'll wait for the right one for the best lines. ", Raihan countered and looked slightly to the side. You stopped laughing and then looked at him in amazement. "That hardly sounded like you at all.", Sonia stated. "Can we just change the subject?" Taiko sighed, slightly annoyed. "Sorry.", You smirked and then helped Sonia to pick up the books that Raihan had dropped.
You sat down together in a cozy cafe in a sitting area and you let the three of them explain a little about Galar's history. At least what was known to some extent.
You were very curious and inquisitive about Galar's history. You liked this region more and more  and you couldn't even say exactly why. But at some point a slight commotion outside the cafe caught your attention. It seemed as if a large television team was gathered there and the flashing lights flashed through the window of the cafe like a thunderstorm.
Sonia stopped talking and followed your gaze to the window. âOh, this is just an interview with Leon. I just checked my messaging app and it seems like he single-handedly stopped a runaway Gigantamax Toxtricity. Which is remarkable, because Toxtricity is already a serious opponent against Charizard with its G-Max Stun Shock. ", the orange-haired woman explained. âSo many reporters and so much hectic pace? Leon certainly doesn't have an easy time being that popular. He can't go anywhere without being surrounded by curious fans or journalists, â you said softly. âYes, those are the downsides of his title. But don't worry, Leon enjoys the spotlight that's falling on him. He enjoys the fame and the many public appearances. ", Raihan said. He knew his rival and best friend well enough by now. You fell silent and got up to walk to the window and get a better look at the man at the center of this interview. Your look became a little worried, because although Leon had put on his usual smile, he looked pretty exhausted. He looked quite pale, despite his darker skin color and it seemed as if he had hardly slept recently. At least you could see his dark circles under his eyes. On this occasion you also remembered that his last message was a few days ago with the excuse that he had so much to do and at the moment didn't really know where his head was. At first you thought it was an excuse not to have to answer, but now that you saw him, he was really overwhelmed at the moment.
You were torn from your thoughts when you noticed a hand on your shoulder. You blinked and looked beside you when you saw Taiko's slightly grinning face. âSeems like our champion is very important to you. You're worried about his health, aren't you? âThe redhead asked mischievously. You knew why she was grinning like this. Now was Taiko's chance to strike back, for earlier. Because you would have to lie if you didn't think a little bit about the handsome purple-haired man since you met ..
"Nonsense. But I am a little tired. Let's move on to the history lesson tomorrow. By the way, my brother probably already misses me. After the appointment with Rose, he wanted to wait for me at the hotel to tell me how the conversation went. In any case, it was very nice to have made your acquaintance, Taiko and Raihan too. I have the feeling that we will meet a few more times. ", you smiled and then bowed politely as a farewell. Taiko grinned and gave you a thumbs up. "You can bet on it! Come safely to the hotel. Not that it's unsafe here in the city, but when it gets dark there could be strange figures walking around outside. ", The redhead warned. âOf course, I'll be careful. Anyway, I left my number for you Taiko. Just call me. See you! And thank you for the insight into Galar's history. Really interesting. âWith these words you said goodbye to your new friends. "Mmm, I wonder why she lied to us.", Sonia began after you had left the cafe. "Huh?" Raihan and Taiko looked questioningly at the orange-haired woman. Sonia then folded her arms. â[Y/n]s brother is at a long conference in Amila with Rose. Grandmother told me that, she knows every professor very well, including her father. And that means her brother isn't expecting her, you see? Why did she say that? âShe wondered then. "Mhmm .. Raihan pissed her off with his stupidity." Taiko said teasingly and Raihan then playfully put her in a headlock. "More like you shooshed her away with your intrusiveness!", He countered and the two laughed while they wrestled a little. Sonia just watched them with a sigh and then looked outside, where Leon was being questioned by reporters. "Is ... he the reason?"
To be continued..

Enough
authorâs note: remember when i said i wasnât going to write ever again? well, i lied. hereâs another long fic about remus and logan being personally attacked by the other sides, lmao. this is a somewhat sequel to my fic worthy and reading that would help me a lot because some stuff in this fic is only explainable if you read that one first. anyway, this fic is more romantic, softer, yet angsty all at once, and i hope you enjoy it. special thanks to the logang discord for your help again, especially to orb, aj, jem, remy, kei, el, anders, lo, rem, and raph! (to those i didnât mentioned, i still love u ok <3)
pairings: Remus/Logan (this time itâs more romantic)
warnings:Â remus typical stuff, swearing (remus says fuck a lot), religious talk (remus and logan do not have good experiences with thomas's catholic upbringing and i'm self projecting), morally gray light sides (they do not appear but logan and remus dislike them), light sides negativity (again, logan and remus hate them), self-esteem issues, and slightly nsfw comments coming from remus.

Why did everything have to be so complicated?
or,
After an argument between Thomas and the "Light" Sides, Logan and Remus seek comfort in each other. Plate throwing and discussions of their relationship ensues.
(ao3 link)
Logan numbly prodded on the mug he borrowed that stood useless on the kitchenâs counter.Â
(He was literally able to prepare the hot chocolate with jittery palms, but how come every time he tried to take a sip, his glitches decided to betray him and let the hot liquid spill onto his shirt?)
Grumbling to himself, he clenched his hand as certain parts of his palm began to twitch and dematerialize, transforming into odd shapes of flashing colors. Logan knew digging his nails into his palm wouldnât have done anything to make the glitching vanish, but at this point, he was so frustrated in himself that he didnât really give a fuck.
He was just so foolish for believing in Thomas, so foolish for thinking that Thomas would have stopped ignoring him. Thomas has neglected him continuously for the past thirty years and Logan was just so tremendously stupid for thinking it would have all ceased now. Admittedly, Thomas was peer pressured into agreeing to the other sidesâ reasoning over Loganâs during the argument earlier, but Logan still felt immensely infuriated that Thomas didnât acknowledge his points despite being presented with multiple facts coming from Logan.
Logan should have just remained pessimistic from this point onwards. Thomasâs neglect for him has never changed and never will, and it would have endlessly persisted if Thomasâs unconscious bias for the other three âLightâ Sides remained.
With Thomasâs growing neglect, Loganâs dilemma would have only worsened further. Initially, Loganâs glitches would have only been triggered if he was in his room, but the situation has gotten so severe that Logan didnât even need to be in his room to experience them. Logan considered discussing the issue more prominently with Thomas, but there was a niggling feeling inside of him that made him hesitant to approach Thomas altogether. Logan abandoned the idea of discussing it thoroughly with the rest of his âFamILYâ as well, as they have openly shown their distaste towards him constantly. Logan even feared that the others wouldnât even be concerned about his wellbeing unless he has reached rock bottom, but he really didnât want to imagine a corrupted state of himself that was overridden with glitches and errors.
This left Logan in a figurative loop where he will constantly be disregarded which, in consequence, would have worsened his glitches, and that cycle wouldâve been repeated until he would be stripped of the âLightâ Side title. Logan from the past wouldâve been fearful of being pushed into the darkness, but as he lamented about his problems daily, he exasperatedly accepted his inevitable demise.
The âDarkâ Sides had a more stylish interior anyway, so maybe it wasnât all that bad. After all, he was currently staying in their kitchen to escape the chaotic, sporadic glitches that have invaded his own room.Â
(But he also was there for another reason, of course.)
But even if he had grown accustomed to the idea that he was becoming a âDarkâ Side, he was still uncertain if they were going to accept his presence with open arms. He and Orange still loathed one another to an unhealthy amount, while the friendship he shared with Janus was extremely⊠odd. They had moments where they were fond of each otherâs company (poor Janus has been living with lunatics for most of his life) but at times, Janus gave him the cold shoulder, and Logan was unsure if it was him simply joking around or being genuine.
And Remus.Â
Logan tapped nervously on the mug as he thought of the boisterous yet lovable maniac.
His relationship with Remus was difficult to describe, to say the least. Logan recognized that Remus was probably the closest thing he had to a genuine friend in this hell of a Mindscape, but at some point, there was a definite shift in their relationship, and Logan couldnât find a proper word to describe it.
But even if they were close friends, Logan wasnât sure if he was able to provide everything a stable friendship needed. He just wasnât used to it. Moreover, his inability to defend Remus during the argument earlier just proved that he wasâ dare he said itâ a worthless friend.
Logan picked up the pace of his mug-tapping as he buried his face further onto the table, his arm resting underneath his head.Â
Why did everything have to be so complicated?
âFuck,â he heard a voice coming from the staircase behind him, âHey asshat, sorry Iâm late!â the voice continued, sounding partly enthusiastic and partly exhausted as they hurriedly descended the flight of stairs.Â
âRemus, youâve dubbed these little meetings âLate Night Hangoutsââ theyâre supposed to be late.â
âHardy fuckinâ har,â Remus replied as he shoved his hands into his hoodieâs pockets while approaching the kitchen. Despite looking incredibly ragged (to be fair, when was he never?), he still managed to maintain his flamboyant saunter. âOkay but, seriously though. Orange was being such a fucking prick, and that argument earlier wasnât helping. I justâ Iâm just fuckingââ Remus inhaled sharply, âGod. Tonight was too fucking much.â
Loganâs eyebrows knitted together worriedly as he eyed the green-clad side, âI⊠apologize. I shouldâve been able to mitigate the situation earlier but I foolishly allowed my temper to cloud my thinking.â Logan said with a guilty expression as a constricting feeling wrapped around his throat. Remus responded with a confused look as one of the tentacles that protruded from his back began rummaging through the cupboards. Logan assumed he was getting a drink for himself as well.
âIronic how those bastards wanted you to show your emotions but when you finally get to do it, they get pissed.â Remus said exasperatedly as he took a seat on the kitchen table rather instead of grabbing a stool for himself, âItâs like that one episode with the puppets where they act like everything is your fault when you literally arenât one to blameââ
âBut Iââ
âââBut I handled the argument badly, yadda yadda,â. Yeah, no, Logan, this isnât your fault.â Remus said sympathetically as one of his tentacles rubbed Loganâs shoulder to provide comfort.Â
ââM still sorry,â Logan said faintly and Remusâs eyebrows knit together.
âHey, itâs alright, dork,â Remus said calmly, âI know you wonât stop apologizing, so Iâm gonna make this loud and clearâ I forgive you.â Remus said, enunciating the latter part of the statement dramatically, causing Logan to snort. Remus grinned at the logical side, proud at himself for being able to make Logan crack up. He then added, âItâs not all your fault anywayâ I shouldâve grabbed my morning star and popped in before Janus had the chance to pull me away. Fuckinâ Janus,âÂ
Logan chuckled before replying, âTo be fair, Janus was probably correct for restricting you from participating. Judging by your sullen cheeks and reddened eyes, I predict you wouldnât have lasted long arguing before you break down sobbing in front of the others.â
One of Remusâs other tentacles slammed a mug on his side while another started mixing in the instant hot chocolate powder and the hot water from the pitcher. Logan could only quirk an eyebrow at him, âHey, I thought you were here to be my source of comfort, you traitor.â Remus replied with a pout.
Logan let out a smirk, âI still am, and Iâm saying that you listening to Janusâs advice was a commendable move, so you're not the one to blame.â Logan said, earning a huff from Remus, âBut are you okay now?â asked Logan.
Remus pursed his lips before replying, âBetter now, but I donât think my state isnât as bad asâŠâ Remus gestured at the glitching particles surrounding Logan, â...that.â Remus continued, and this time, it was Logan who huffed.
âBelieve me when I say that Iâm completely fine,â
âYeah⊠no, you look terrible.â
âSame as you.â
âI aim to look like trash anyway, soâŠâ Remus retorted but Logan looked at him incredulously, âWhat, do you want me to vent?â
âI believe it was you who said, âVentingâs like blowjobs, Logan, it makes you feel good and have some sort of releaseâ.â Logan stated, giving a scarily accurate impersonation of Remus, which consequently made the impersonated side cackle loudly, âYou seemed to have encountered an issue with Orange right after your talk with Janus, so I am certain you still have some bottled up frustrations within you.âÂ
Remus took a sip of his hot chocolate and rolled his eyes, âFine, okay, youâre right. Frankly, I am still pissed at Sâ Orange,â Remus quickly corrected himself, âBut if I vent, do you promise on your dead body to open up to me as well?â
âI assure you Iâmââ
âLogan âLogicâ Sanders,â Remus said scoldingly, âYou act as if I totally did not hear your outbursts a while ago. Moreover, I thought we were over the whole âkeep secrets from one anotherâ thing? I admitted to you that the snake infestation in the Mindscape was entirely my fault and not Janusâs andâ and I also told you about that time I decided to be a bit cynical and bury my beating heart under the floorboards just to scare the shit out of Virgil and Roman, so itâs unfair if you keep any secrets from me when I could literally be arrested for confessing all of my crimes to you! If, yâknow, this was real life, but whatever, you still understand what Iâm saying here, right?â
Logan sighed tiredly, âI suppose youâve a point.â Logan said, and Remus looked pleased for a moment until Logan continued, âBut, while I still insist that I donât have much toâ er, âventâ about, I will only do it if and only if you go first.âÂ
Remus immediately looked annoyed by Loganâs offer but merely sighed in acceptance. Logan, on the other hand, smiled at him smugly. âFine, whale penis,â Remus said, taking a dramatically long sip of his beverage, âYou promise?â
Logan nodded, âWe arenât children, Remus, but yes, I promise.â
And with that, Remus set his mug aside next to Loganâs unused one and rested his hands on the table. He gazed upwards as he seemed to ponder where he was going to start as Logan merely stared at him intently. Eventually, after much pondering, Remus began, âYâknow, sometimes I wonder if Orange hates me.â
âWhat makes you think of that?â
âWell, we both know he represents Thomasâs beliefs, right? Superstitious, religious, supernatural, whatever, but letâs focus on the religious part of it.â Remus explained, âWhen Thomasâs Catholicism is ever discussed, he gets so weirdly aggressive and powerful and blunt about his feelings. Like, I love harsh honesty as much as the next person but he literally wonât shut the fuck up about how disgustingly âsinfulâ I am.â
âThatâs a bit⊠rude.â
âI know right! Beyond rude!â Remus exclaimed, âAnd most of the time, it doesnât bother me, but that mixed with Thomas and the other three White Sidesââ
âItâs âLightâ Sidesââ
âWhatever, white people suck and they suck too, so technically, Iâm not wrong.â Remus grumbled, earning an amused half-smile from Logan, âBut back to the pointâ I just donât understand why people like toâ uhâ like to paint me asââ Remus took a sharp yet shaky inhale, ââas a villain. I mean, yeah, I know Iâm gross and lewd and everything God would condemn, but it wasnâtâ it isnât my fault that Iâm like this. Do theyâŠâ Remus swallowed thickly, âDo they understand how cruel the first ten years of my life are? The hate they have for me does n-not compare to the hate I had for myself for most of my life. Even now, Iâ sometimes IââÂ
Remus wasnât able to finish his sentence as lip trembled harshly. With Remusâs eyes becoming glossier by the second, Logan decided to muster enough courage within him to raise his hand and put it atop Remusâs, thumbing soothing circles in the hopes that itâll provide him some comfort. Remus blinked twice before intertwining his fingers with Logan instead, holding it dearly as if it was a lifeline.
âWhy is it so hard for them to understand that while Thomasâs Catholic upbringing could be good, itâs also soâŠâ
âDetrimental? Harmful?â Logan offered.
âYeah, that, thanks.â Remus said, chuckling at Logan, âAnd even if they wanna defend it, why do they have to drag me into every damn conversation? Iâm not the side that represents sin, thank you very much. Sometimes they all just act like Karenâs to me. Whatâre they gonna do next, blame me for Thomas being vaccinated? I bet Patton is this close from forcing Thomas to drink some radioactive mushroom-citrus essential oil.â Remus joked with a broken smile, but with one stern look from Logan, he reverted back to what he was originally rambling about.
âSorry, I justâ do they not understand the fucking work I do so that Thomas wouldnât experience intrusive thoughts 24/7? Do they forget that without me, Virgil or Roman or, shit, even Patton could have their fair share of intrusive thoughts? Why do people think that all I do is fuck everything when Iâm so much more than filthy jokes and violence? I just wannaâ I just want to be viewed as their equal, is that too much to ask?â Remus finished his rant with an extremely peeved yet heartbroken expression, his lips forming a thin line as his nose crinkled sourly. Despite the tone of finality, Remusâs fingers still had not stopped fidgeting within Loganâs grasp.Â
Logan understood that Remus also had his fair share of troubles concerning intrusive thoughtsâ Logan even thought that Remusâs dilemma was vastly more horrendous than Thomasâs situation. One visit to Remusâs room was enough to convince Logan that Thomasâs situation was absolutely nothing compared to Remus.
Logan also understood that out of all the other sides, Remus was the most misunderstood; itâs something they both have in common. While Remus is described to be naturally uncaring and crass, he understood there was much more to him than what meets the eye. He was relentlessly vigorous, but he was also fragile and delicate. He was described as stupid and excessively foolish, but deep within, heâs brilliant and passionate, yet no one seems to credit him for that.Â
Lastly, Logan also understood that Remus was the only side that saw something in him. He had a genuine fondness and affection for Logan, and while they didnât like putting labels on what they had, Logan cherished it nonetheless.
(And Logan also knew that while he was content with where they were now, moments like this reminded him that he also feared about not being enough for Remus. But of course, he didnât want to say that.)
âRemus,â Logan said, âOne or two?â
Logan developed a helpful method to use whenever one of them is feeling low. It was simple: one meant youâd want the other party to say something to comfort you, and two meant you didnât need to be told anything and you just needed the otherâs presence to help you calm down.
âOne and a half.â Remus said unhelpfully.
âWhat?â Logan said, getting caught off-guard, âRounded off, that would be two.âÂ
Remus pouted, âNerd.â and Logan shrugged as if he was saying âand what?â. âWhat I mean is, Iâd prefer one, but like, a bit toned down? I donât need an entire powerpoint presentation like what you did last time.âÂ
âThen you shouldâve said zero point five, or simply referring to it as one-half would do as well.â
âIâm gay, Logan, I donât fuck with math!â
âWeâre both gay, Remus.â Logan retorted. âBut back to the topic at hand: youâre valid for who you are, Remus. What the others say about you doesnât matter at all when they literally donât have much evidence or experiences to backup their claims. You are generous, caring, and quite frankly, tremendously fun, and while I cannot specify every occasion to support this claim because you wanted me to be as concise as possible, you know you should believe me more than any other side in this Mindscape. Besides that point, words cannot describe how grateful I am for you. I wouldnât exchange who you are now for anything else.â
While desperately trying to compose his sudden quickened heartbeat, he chanced gazing at Remusâs direction. Remus appeared to be less crestfallen but the glossiness in his eyes returned for a different reason. The hand that was gripping Loganâs tightened as Remus raised one of his tentacles to wipe a tear that escaped his eyelids.
âRemus⊠are you alright?â Logan inquired, and Remus rapidly nodded his head with bubbled cheeks in an attempt to restrict more tears from falling.
âYes, one hundred percent, doing absolutely fine.â Remus replied, âYouâre such a fucking sap that I could literally eat you alive,â added Remus, gaining a bemused look from Logan.
âI am unsure of whether to be terrified or flattered but thank youâŠ?â Logan replied, âI wasnât aware I was being a sapâ I was simply being intellectually honest with you.â
Somehow, that made Remus even more emotional. Logan internally panicked, thinking he had done something incorrectly, but then, one of Remusâs tentacles wrapped around his neck, slowly pulling his head closer to Remusâs chest. As Loganâs forehead leaned against Remusâs hoodie, he smiled fondly at Remusâs sudden affection. Even Remusâs tentacles couldnât help themselves as they began combing and playing with Loganâs hair tenderly. âYouâre too precious, I canât believe you.â Remus said.
âWell, youâre quite welcome, Remus.â Logan replied, âIâm not quite sure what I said in particular that would elicit this sort of reaction from you. While I do know you are a touchy-feely kind of person, you do not typically get this affectionate with every conversationâŠâ Logan paused, âBut I do like it. Keep doing it.â
Remus laughed at Logan, somewhat impressed by his appreciation, âYou sound like youâve never been hugged before.âÂ
âWell⊠I receive them, but just rarelyâ Patton and Roman used to be my main sources, but theyâve barely given me any offers nowadays. On the rare occasion that they do, their offers would come off as disingenuous, so I usually decline them.â Logan explained, trying to disguise the hurt he was feeling. But somehow, Remus saw through it, just like he mysteriously, always does.
âSounds like you have something you want to talk about.â Remus said, slowly releasing Logan from his tight grasp. Despite the loosened grip, Logan still willed to remain physically close to the other side. Something about Remus provided him with an unfamiliar yet soothing feeling of warmth and ease. If Logan were to be âsappyâ like how Remus dubbed him to be, he would have described Remus as a figurative atom as Logan wouldâve been the electrons surrounding him. There was something so compelling about him, something so magnetic, and Logan couldnât help but be pulled closer to him, couldnât help but revolve his entire being around him.
(There was also a meddling feeling within him that nagged that this metaphor meant Logan was also someone who was ânegatively chargedâ, but in Loganâs defense, this was the first time he ever tried using a metaphorâ cut him some slack.)
âWell, sorta kinda,â Logan replied, not letting his thoughts distract him. He sighed before continuing, âI mean, mentally, I think Iâm utterly drained.â
âWe been knew, sis,â Remus replied.
âIs thatâ what does that mean?â Loganâs eyes narrowed.Â
âOh, uh, it just means like, âweâve known that for a long timeâ.â Remus explained, âI forget that youâre literally the most boomer person Iâve ever met, but nevermind that, just go on.âÂ
Logan sighed and continued, âItâs difficult for me to recognize if Iâm on the verge of a mental breakdown, mostly because I have not allowed myself to be thoroughly acquainted with my emotions, but ever since youâve assisted me in understanding how my feelings work, Iâve suddenly realized that I have⊠not been okay for most of my life. Despite having your support, I still feel deeply terrified because I am usually uncertain of how horrendous my problems have gotten.
âAnd the fact that the others dismiss me nonchalantly doesnât ease my troubling thoughts either. I donât know if Iâm overthinking, but Iâve noticed that their interactions with me are borderline manipulative. At times, they like to coax me into thinking that they know whatâs best for me, or they accept me for who I am, but then a few moments later, I learn that theyâre only being courteous because they want to utilize me for a certain issue they want to resolve.â
While fiddling with his fingers in an attempt to alleviate the unsettling emotions that arose within him, Remus spoke up, âIs that what happened a while ago, and why you got all pissy at them?â
Logan nodded with a disheartened expression, âIt isnât the first time this happened, so of course Iâd be pushed towards my breaking point. I practically had to voice out my frustrations even if I know that they wonât listen to me anyway.â Logan stated, quite agitated, âIt also distresses me to no end that they frequently add Thomas into these conversations. I know Thomasâs intentions are pure but when being told something repetitively, Thomas would eventually believe in what they say over what I say.â
âBut doesnât that, yâknow, worsenâŠâ Remus gestured to the flickering polygons encircling Logan, âthis?â
Logan hummed, âWhile it doesnât bother me as much as it did the first time around, it unfortunately delays my work schedule. Moreover, the others are still oblivious to my dilemma, and Iâm⊠scared to confront them about the issue. Thereâs really no telling with them, especially if I confess that Iâm on the cusp of becoming a âDarkâ Side. Theyâre going to paint me as a villain, similar to what they did to you, and I donâtâ I donât think I can handle hearing all of that.â
âI already have⊠an abundant amount of insecurities that I cannot seem to rationalize and itâs only worsening for⊠obvious reasons. You already understand Iâm quite the perfectionist, so when someone informs me that Iâm âmistakenâ or decides to disregard my contributions entirely, I feelâ I feel likeââ Logan shakily inhaled before continuing, âI feel worthless. Pointless. No matter what I do, it will always be deemed as useless, and I canât help but hate myself for it.â
âHey Logan?â Remus said softly, raising one of his hands to cup his cheek. âBreathe for me.â
Logan didnât realize how quickened his breath had become until Remus pointed it out, and as he tried to ignore the suffocating feeling that was crushing his chest, he followed Remusâs instructions obediently. They breathed together silently, Logan attempting to not let himself cry embarrassingly in front of Remus once more.Â
âHatsune Geek-u,â Remus spoke, âone or two?â Remus asked, lowering his hand.
Logan averted his gaze from Remus, thinking before he shouldâve replied to his question. âUhm,â Logan said, âWhile Iâd like to say Iâm leaning more towards two, I still feel unexplainably frustrated for some absurd reason.â Logan said wearily.
âSo⊠a one and a half?â Remus replied comedically, and Logan failed to suppress a snort.
âDick.â Logan rebuts, causing Remus to gasp audibly.
âLogan, this is a Christian household, donât be a sinful little bitch,â Remus whined and Logan delightedly laughed at him.
âI didnât realize we were holding a âWho can impersonate Patton the best?â competition.â Logan joked, but then he returned to the main topic at hand, âIn all seriousness, I still cannot comprehend why I feel so aggravated. Venting usually uplifts me but I suppose everything, even certain coping mechanisms, will stop working after a certain point.â
âThere are other things we can try out.â Remus explained, âBefore we were friends, there were a lot of things I did in my room and in the Imagination that helped me calm down. Not every problem of mine could find a solution through venting so Janus recommended that I should channel my emotions into doing something physical.â
âThat actually⊠makes a lot of senseâ considering youâre a very active and energetic person and all.â Logan said, âBut Iâm vastly dissimilar from you in a physical sense, Remus. I can barely lift a single Encyclopedia book without toppling over.â
âGod you are a weakling, but that doesnât matter! Iâm not your gym instructor, dork, Iâm still your local rat bastard and I have some⊠fun plans up my sleeve.â
Loganâs eyes narrowed suspiciously, âWhat are you suggesting?â.
âOkay, hear me outââ
âOh God.â
âItâs going to sound a little weirdââ
âThat was to be expected.â
âBut hear me out.â
âIâm all ears.â
âPlate throwing.â Remus suggested, slightly starry eyed as if what he said was the most magnificent thing on earth. Logan, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion and concern as his lips thinned in disapproval. That didnât dissuade the more chaotic side from summoning multiple sets of plates on the table, all stacked neatly, ready to be used.
âRemus,â Logan spoke sternly. âItâs late.â
âAnd?â
âWe might disturb Janus and Orange.â Logan explained, âConsidering Orangeâs unhinged state and how exhausted Janus must be, I donât think it is the smartest idea to throw plates.â
âI promise you, the other two wonât care.â Remus told him, âOrange literally plays Catholic praise songs all the fucking timeâ he wonât notice anything thatâs going on outside of his room. And Janus? He soundproofed his room because⊠well, thereâs this one time I did an experiment with horny foxes and lemme tell yaâ he did not like that. After that, he literally wasnât bothered by anything else. I once decided to test how soundproof his room was by blasting Megalovania on ten thousand speakers but he didnât hear anything. Nothing at all. Zip. Zilch. Nadaââ
âOkay, okay, I understand.â Logan said, still quite reluctant to participate, âWhy do you even have these plates?â
âWell, remember the art project I was doing where I decided to make a replica of the town from that horror manga using weird materials?âÂ
Loganâs eyes lit up, âThe one of Junji Itoâs Uzumaki?â
Remus snapped his fingers with a grin, âBingo.â he affirmed, âIâm almost finished with the thing save for this entire area with like, bones and er, I canât really explain it well but imagine human bodies made out of concrete.â
âA very comforting image.â Logan remarked sarcastically.
âI know, right?â Remus replied jestingly, âI thought broken, ceramic plates would be a fun material to work withâ not because it seemed like an appropriate material for the rubble but I just thought breaking plates would be fun to do. I was going to do it on my own but it seems like youâre willing to break a few plates for yourself. Yâknow, as a release.â
Using one of his tentacles, Remus chucked a plate at Logan who caught it accurately. âRemus, you know I love you very much, and I do want to help contribute to your wonderful art project, but this is somewhat too childish forââ
Interrupting Loganâs spiel, Remus snapped his fingers loudly. Logan blinked twice in bewilderment, unsure of why Remus did that in the first place, but then, he noticed that something behind Remus had changed. The dark hardwood cupboards had some pinned banners on them with each depicting one of the three âLightâ Sides. What intrigued Logan the most were the giant red circles that surrounded their faces; Logan guessed that they were painted on by Remus. The circles that enveloped the sides made it seem like Logan was supposed to target them as if they wereâ
Oh.
Oh.
âRemus,â Logan spoke.
âYes?â Remus said chipperly.
âAm I supposed toâ?â
âGo for it.â Remus insisted, giving Logan a nod of encouragement.
Logan glanced at the plate he carried in his glitching palms, noticing how his fatigued expression was shining back at him due to how clean the plate was. Like always, his eyebags were incredibly pronounced, and it seemed like a new wrinkle had developed on his forehead. And⊠were those white strands of hair tucked behind his ear?
Logan grimacedâ how long has he been this tired?
He raised his head and looked at the three pictures of the other sides. All three pictures developed a sense of dread within him. Besides the fear that was eating him from the inside out, there were several other side effects like the sweatiness and unsteadiness of his palms, the dryness of his throat, and the sudden urge to rip the banners off the cupboards and tear them to shreds.Â
Logan bet Remus deliberately made each picture show the others at their highest, all of them smiling and laughing mockingly at Logan. At weak, frail, useless Logan.Â
Logan looked down at his plate again. The same weary expression stared back at him.
And when he looked back at the cupboards, each of the sides were still smiling in blissful ignorance. They fucking knew Logan was exhausted, they knew he was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
And yet, they laughed anyway.
Just like that, something buried deep within Logan cracked. Raising the arm that was handling the plate, he ferociously hurled it towards the cupboards. The suppressed wrath he has forcibly ignored for years seeped out all at once, and for the first time, Logan let it happen, he let himself be angry.Â
And honestly, with how many times they viewed Logan as a controllable utility, with how many times theyâve figuratively stabbed him in the back, with how many times theyâve dumped all the responsibilities on Logan without asking if he was alrightâ Logan deserved to get outraged.
An earsplitting, loud crack was heard, its sound reverberating across the âDarkâ Sidesâ living room and kitchen.Â
The plate precisely hit the cupboard with the picture of Patton, its pieces exploding right at the center. It was incredibly scary how Logan was able to execute a perfect and direct shot at Patton despite how his glitches made him constantly spasm.Â
âHolyââ Remus spoke as Logan withdrew his hand. Logan let out a breath he didnât know he was holding, quite astonished at his accuracy. âHoly shit.â Remus remarked proudly, the large grin on his face suggesting that he was extremely impressed by Logan.
âHoly shit indeed,â Logan murmured, similarly as stunned as Remus. âThat was⊠surprisingly exhilarating.â Logan stated, a smile creeping unto his face.Â
âFucking yes,â Remus grabbed two more plates from the stack, âI feel like a proud mother watching their child graduate,â Remus remarked, and before Logan could have commented on how strange Remusâs statement was, Remus aggressively chucked the two plates he carried towards the pictures of Roman and Virgil. His movements were so quick that Logan couldâve sworn he felt a cool breeze brush past him when Remus threw the plates.
âThatâs what you get for abandoning me, fuckinâ assholes!â Remus hollered, emitting an impressed laugh from Logan.Â
âI think the best word to describe what I feel is âMoodâ.â Logan responded, snatching a handful of plates for himself.Â
âGlad you understand, but if you really do relate, then you should keep throwing your plates, Invader Simp.â Remus stated, âAnd whatever you do, do not hold back.âÂ
Logan didnât need to be instructed twice before chucking his plates mercilessly, unleashing all the rage and energy he possessed within. Every time he heard a vicious crack or the sound of the ceramic pieces colliding with one another violently, an overwhelming, thrilling sensation washed through him. Remus wasnât exempted from this feeling either, his face expressing pure ecstasy and enjoyment, and that only increased how entertained Logan was.
Additionally, the countless insults and jabs they had for the other sides only enthralled Logan more, making this experience oddly therapeutic.
âQuite unfair of you, Virgil, that your asshole demeanor is always glossed over by Thomas and his fans when youâve threatened to cut my air supply on camera. Oh, but of course Patton insists youâre a sweet, harmless, angelicââ
Another crashing noise, âTo be fair, Pattonâs pretty fucking stupid.â Remus interrupted, throwing another plate at the worn out picture of Patton, âPlus he has ten Minion posters in his room.â
âEugh.â
âAt least he isnât like Roman. Stupid Roman who acts as if everything Thomas does is his doing.â Remus grabbed an excessive amount of plates, throwing at Romanâs photo, âLast time I checked, it was me who helped Thomas when he was cast in Heathersââ
âAnd it was me who helped Thomas schedule all his auditions.â Logan commented irritatedly, âThey act as if I didnât contribute anything to Thomasâs theatre career, act as if Iâm the villain, when it was me who had to adapt to a sudden change in Thomasâs career. They say they hate me for wanting a different future for Thomas when they were the first ones to change Thomasâs life plans without my permission!â
âSay it louder for the people in the back, sister!â
âWait, âpeople in the backâ...? Is someone watching uââ
âShit, wait, I forget you are a literal boomer, sorry,â Remus said, âWhat I mean is, youâre abso-fucking-lutely right.â he added, and while doing so, he decided to put some of his tentacles into good use. Picking up an entire stack of plates, he tossed them one by one at each picture. The table was getting emptier now, with only one stack of plates left, âAll of them are massive hypocrites and itâs starting to piss me off.âÂ
âAgreed,â Logan affirmed. Slightly jealous Remus was hogging all the plates to himself, Logan challenged his physical strength by grabbing the entire last stack of plates for himself to throw. While this earned some concerned look from Remus, Remus didnât protest against Loganâs decision. This was enough encouragement for Logan to hurl the dishes relentlessly against the cupboards, creating a clamorous noise as every single plate shattered into uneven pieces.Â
âWoah,â Remus said in awe as he casually chucked the last plate he was holding, âI would like to see this feral side of you more, Logan.â
Logan cracked his knuckles, feeling oddly satisfied after that session of plate throwing, âThank you,â Logan told Remus, âIâm thinking youâll get to see it more when I have fully converted into becoming a âDarkâ Side.â
âOh, itâll match with the âDarkâ Side aesthetic we have, Iâm sure of it.â
âGood,â Logan said.
There was a comfortable silence exchanged between both sides as the adrenaline began to wear off. It was only at this moment they realized how much damage theyâve created outside the broken plates as the cupboards are now embellished with multiple scratches and chipped off wood. Additionally, some of the broken ceramics were scattered on the other countertops, and it seemed like some of the appliances nearby were also caught in the crossfire. Logan shouldâve known that once the banners have started ripping, they shouldâve halted their plate throwing to examine the safety of the other equipment in the kitchen.
Ah well. He still didnât regret participating in the activity anyway.
âThis should be enough.â Remus said, sweeping the plate remnants up with his tentacles. Each appendage was seen efficiently picking up the fragments, dusting off specks of dirt found on them, and delicately placing the pieces on the countertops. Logan doesnât understand why Remus decided to choose the countertops over the tables, but he doesnât make an effort to inquire about the matter.
âThat is⊠more than what I expected.â Logan mentioned, âI suppose we got too carried away with our endeavors.â
âDoesnât mean it was a bad thing,â Remus told him, and somehow, he was holding a nail filer. Logan assumed he was going to polish the shards using the filer to precisely imitate the sculptures and skulls from the book.
âWhile I did admit we were a bit overwhelmed by the thrill of the activity, I did not specify it being a horrible experience.â Logan corrected him, âIn fact, I actually⊠enjoyed it. And itâs rare for me to find physical activities like these exhilarating.âÂ
âSee? This is why you donât doubt The Duke,â Remus said, leaning against the table as he let his tentacles do all the cleanup work, âAnd youâre welcome, Elpha-bae Thropp,â added Remus, and somehow, that nickname made something in Loganâs heart swell. Swell in a positive or negative sense, he didnât know.
âThat is an upgrade from âSwell-phaba Throppâ.â Logan replied.
âUgh, donât even remind me of that atrocious nickname.â Remus said, nostrils slightly flared.
âI wonât, but the nickname has very close ties to some memories I hold dear, so pardon me if I ever bring it up again in the future.â Logan said, referencing the first time he and Remus had shared an intimate moment with one another. He was glad to see Remusâs expression soften as he seemed to have recalled it as well.
âAw, youâre being a sap again,â Remus commented, leaning his chin against his hands as his arms were propped atop of the table. He gazed at Logan dreamily, âThat suddenly made me hate the nickname less now.â
âI didnât say it was a good nickname,â Logan retorted with a smirk.
âYou hurt my pride, love, I am wounded,â Remus said, putting a hand dramatically on his chest.Â
Logan almost sputtered upon hearing the nickname but only managed to raise his eyebrows. Remus typically coated his nicknames with a joke, or some kind of atrocious pun but this was something different, and Logan couldnât have helped but feel flustered because of it. ââLoveâ?â Logan murmured, and immediately, he felt the atmosphere of the room shift.Â
Remus immediately looked apologetic, and Logan couldâve sworn one of his tentacles almost dropped one of the plate fragments it was holding, but Remus was quick to defend himself, âAh, my apologies, I know you donât want to rush things and Iâmâ well, I am Remus, so words just slip out of my mouth andââ
âNo itâsâ itâs quite alright.â Logan instantly corrected him, âI apologize too if I, uhm, swiftly dismiss your acts of affection. I know Iâm notââ Loganâs voice decided to betray him and crack involuntarily, âIâm just not well adjusted to, er, romance, and anything of the like. Itâsâ itâs not that I donât enjoy it, per se, I genuinely appreciate the relationship we have now, but I just⊠do not know if what Iâve been giving back to you is enough to satisfy you? I understand Iâm quite monotonous and stoic so Iâm not alwaysâ I cannot findâ Iâm trying toââ Logan sucked in a breath as he shut his eyes, âIâm just⊠very awful at this kind of stuff.â
Logan shouldâve known Remus was still going to be compassionate about his problems, wouldâve still been unexplainably considerate despite how Logan is the way he is, but a single pesky thought lingered in his head, whispering how Remus might decide to just end it, how Remus might just tell Logan to forget about everything theyâve ever done.Â
(Logan really had forgotten that his insecurities about being worthless to the other sides are different from the insecurities about not being enough for Remus, huh. Calming down those intrusive thoughts obviously paved the way for other ones to take over, and unfortunately, those ones all involve Remus in one way or another.)
There was a troubled expression on Remusâs face, and Logan was bracing himself for the absolute worst thing to come out of Remusâs mouth. But thenâ
âLogan, you know I love you, but what on earth are you talking about?â Logan stared at him blankly, thinking he misheard what Remus said, but Remus still appeared to be extremely baffled. âLogan, you do know that you canât measure affection, and even if you do, youâre damn good at providing it.â Remus stated, leaning closer to Logan with arms planted on the table, âMore than anything, I feel like Iâm the one doing something wrong here.â
And now it was Loganâs turn to look perplexed, âYou? Remus, youâre the more romantic and affectionate oneââ
âThat is exactly what I mean!â Remus exclaimed, making Logan appear to be even more confused. âWhat I mean is, I feel like Iâm taking things too fast when I know we promised to let this⊠thing we have to be more gradual. I know weâre allowed to be fond with one another, Iâm not that stupid, but Iâm kinda scared that Iâm being too gross or intrusive or quick orââ
âRemus.â Logan cut him off before he would inevitably begin to spiral downwards, âOut of everyone, you told me to love myself for who I am. And I admit, I do struggle a bit sometimes, but you need to take in your own advice as well.â Logan said while Remus gazed at the table, lips curved downwards, âYouâre not gross, nor are you someone whoâs âtoo muchâ. Youâre enough for me, Remus, and I admire all the efforts you make to show your fondness for me.â
Remus then began to look up, directly gazing at Logan, and his frown softened. Like the chaotic side he is, he jumped on the table quickly and pushed himself forward to move closer to Logan. They were then in the same position they were in the first time they met tonight, Remus sitting cross-legged on the table as he loomed above Logan who leaned close to him.
âThank you, dork,â Remus said, âI could also say the same for you, though. You canât say youâre doing âtoo littleâ when youâve literally done so much for me. Even small things like listening to me rant about my gory fantasies make me feel happy. Or loved. Or appreciated or wanted, but you get the point. Donât you ever think that youâre doing less than stellar when literally everything you do is enough for me. Youâre enough for me too, Logan.â
âRemus,â Logan gazed at him, and this time, it was him with the glossy eyes, âIâm getting too emotional and itâs almost 3AM,â Logan told him, âbut that⊠that means so much to me. Thank you so, so much.â
âYou sound like youâre on your deathbed.â Remus said, earning a chuckle from Logan. âBut youâre welcome, love.â
This time, the nickname made Logan flush crimson, and Logan didnât last long before he leaned his forehead against Remusâs chest once again, wrapping his arms around the green-clad side like the flustering idiot he is.
âAw,â Remus said, bringing his hand to pat the logical side, âYou actually like it when I call you love.â
âI hate you.â
âNo you donât.â
âI almost hate you.â
âAnd I love you too.â Remus replied, kissing the top of Loganâs hair lovingly.
And that sums up their relationship well, doesnât it? Their insecurities forgotten thanks to their fondness for one another. A weird yet lovely symbiotic relationship that made Logan feel genuinely happyâ something he hadnât experienced much since Thomasâs teenage years. Logan always thought he never deserved experiencing joy anywayâ but Remus showed him that he did, convinced him he was worthy enough. Logan wouldâve never thought this gore-obsessed, chaotic trash man made his heart swell the way it does now, wouldâve never thought this trash man would have helped Logan overcome his insecurities using the oddest of methodsâ
But Logan wouldnât have it any other way.

just like a movie | pope heyward x oc
summary:Â aster wants her life to be just like a movie. pope is happy to oblige
warnings: cursing, alcohol, so much fluff itâs like cotton candy
word count: 2.4k
a/n: here is my entry for pope appreciation week day 1! some fluffy fluff that had me smiling the whole time i wrote it. got the title from a wallows song, which you should go check out. enjoy the song and enjoy the fic :)
Pope didnât mean to eavesdrop on the conversation, but Aster spoke loudly when she was drunk and she and Kiara were only a few yards away from where he, JJ, and John B sat. Plus, in the years he had know her, Popeâs ears had become attuned to the sound of her voice, hanging on to every word.
âItâs hard not to have high expectations, you know?â Aster sighed, her drunken arm movements erratic as she spoke.
âRight, but you watch way too many movies, babe. Life just doesnât compare. You need to get your head out of the clouds if you actually want a relationship,â Kiara said sympathetically. Aster slumps over into her friendâs lap, taking another sip of her drink before groaning.
âBut whyyyyyy?â She said, holding the last letter like a grumpy child. She sits back up and sighs again, looking up into the sky. âIs it so bad to just want a guy to sweep me off my feet? I want him to send me flowers and sweet notes and pull off grand romantic gestures. I just want a guy who shows me he loves me in beautiful ways.â
âAnd by âa guyâ you mean Pope,â Kie said, earning a loud shush and a hand clamped over her mouth from Aster, who looked back at the boys with wide eyes. Pope stared into the fire before him, not wanting Aster to know he had been listening. She and Kie continued talking, but Pope had tuned out. Was it true? Did Aster like him?
Pope had been harboring a crush on his best friend since middle school. In high school, when his feelings were still going strong, he realized it was much more than a crush. He was completely in love with her. Refusing to believe she felt the same, he buried his feelings deep, deep within him. But her drunken words were like a shovel, digging through his heart until she hit gold. Staring into the flames, he suddenly can see everything heâs ever wanted. With a final look back at Aster, a grin growing on his face, Pope makes a decision. She was everything he wanted, he was going to be the same for her.
Aster stretches as she wakes up from her spot on the pull out couch. A slight pounding in her head reminds her of the night before and she groans. Kie is curled up beside her, soft snores echoing in the air. Aster looks to the other side, the space where Pope had occupied was empty, cold. Aster frowned, missing the comforting feeling of having him nearby. Looking out the window, though, she sees his head peaking over the window sill.
Aster pushes open the porch door, opening her mouth to speak when she notices a small bouquet of her daisies sitting on the ground, an envelope tucked between the petals.
âItâs for you,â Pope says nonchalantly. Aster furrows her brows.
âFrom who?â She questions, but Pope just shrugs. He knows he will give everything away if he says too much, remaining silent in the better option. Aster picks up the flowers, admiring them with a small smile before opening the small envelope.
"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love⊠I love⊠I love you." Pride & Prejudice, 2005
- The Darcy to your Elizabeth
Asterâs eyes scan over the words again and again. The words were pulled from one of her all time favorite movies. Despite the beauty of the words, she focuses more on the sign off. She doesnât recognize the handwriting and she canât think of anyone who would send her such a beautiful gift. The smile refuses to fall from her face as she plops down next to Pope.
âAre you sure you didnât see anyone drop these off?â She asks, looking to Pope. He shakes his head a little too quickly, his shrug too large, and he hopes she doesnât notice.
âNope. No idea. They were just there when I woke up.â
Unfortunately for Pope, Aster knew him like the back of her hand, and his strange behavior didnât go unnoticed. Unable to believe that Pope had any feelings other than friendship towards her, she didnât make the connection between the gift and her best friends nerves.
âWell, whoever it is is very sweet. Want to read?â She asks, holding the card out to him.
âNah,â He suddenly stands up, moving towards the door, âI have to use the toilet actually. Yâknow, wring it out. Iâll be back.â
His heart pounds as he speed walks through the Chateau, partly from nerves but also excitement. She liked it! She really liked it. Confidence soars through Pope as he plans his next move, hiding in the bathroom.
The doorbell rings just as Aster sits down for lunch. She glances towards Kie, who is busy cutting up strawberries for the both of them. Aster sighs and gets up from her spot, slumping towards the door to find out who disturbed her meal. Her annoyance disappears though when she notices a box, a single daisy on top of it with an envelope between the two. She goes for the envelope first this time, hoping that it will warm her heart like the one from earlier that day.
âThe greatest thing youâll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.â Moulin Rouge, 2001
- The Christian to your Satine
âWho is it?â Kiara calls as she makes her way to the door. When she noticed the flower and envelope, she gives Aster a curious smirk. âYouâre secret admirer?â She giggles, poking Aster.
âShut up, itâs not a secret admirer,â Aster says, pushing the girl away as she blushes.
âHm, a person is sending you love letters but wonât tell you who they are, I wonder what thatâs called?â
After flipping Kiara off, Aster picks up the box and brings it back to the kitchen. She gasps in awe when she opens it, revealing her favorite lunch, pineapple fried rice from the Thai place on Figure 8. Very few people knew about her love for Thai Lotus, since she rarely got to eat there. A hope passes through her mind in the form of a boy whoâs smile is like the sun.
âKie, did you tell the boys weâre hanging at your house today?â She questions, looking back at the note and examining every stroke and curve of the writing.
âI donât know, probably.â
Aster sighs in frustration at the vague answer before picking up her phone, finding Popeâs contact easily. He picks up immediately.
âHey, whatâs up?â
âNothing just having lunch with Kie. Where are you right now?â
âUmâŠIâm out on some deliveries with JJ. Why?â
Aster feels her hope fall at the words and shakes her head before realizing he couldnât actually see her.
âNo reason, just checking in. Wanna hang out later?â
âWith you? Nah,â The smile in his voice gives him away, and Aster can feel a similar smile growing, despite her hopes that Pope was her secret admirer being crushed in his unknowing hand.
âMy house? Movies, popcorn, ice cream?â He adds on.
âSounds like a plan, Stan.â Pope laughs.
âCool. See you later, alligator.â
âIn a while, crocodile.â Aster giggles, hanging up and sitting down to dig into her meal. Her fingers twirl the flower in one hand while the other scoops rice into her mouth. Kie says something to her, but Aster doesnât hear. Eyes focused on the soft white petals of the daisy as her mind to the boy she had just spoken to, and how she wished the daisy had been a product of his love.
At the sound of the door opening and Asterâs voice drifting down the hall, a grin made itâs way to Popeâs face. Leaving the popcorn spinning in the microwave, he grabs the small present on the counter and moves down the hallway. He puts on his best confused face before he reaches Aster, holding the gift out to her.
âHey, this was left for you at the Chateau. JJ told me to give it to you.â
Aster rips the package from his arms, admiring the small daisy hair clip before ripping into the envelope.
âDeath cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.â The Princess Bride, 1987
- The Westley to your Buttercup
Aster sighs and presses the card against her forehead with a sad smile.
âDid JJ say who gave it to him?â She mumbled.
âNo. It was just there.â Popeâs words are short again. His plan is close to completion. He canât ruin it now. Aster carefully slides the envelope into you back pocket before working the wrapping paper open. She bit back her smile as she held a special edition copy of The Princess Bride and the book with behind the scenes stories. Her eyes scan over the objects in excitement, while Popeâs flitter across her face. He took in every detail of excitement and happiness that shone on her beautiful features.
âWow, this guy must really like you,â Pope comments, compelling Asterâs eyes to meet his own. For a moment, he tries to plead with her wordlessly. Donât you know itâs me? Please know itâs me. When Asterâs focus breaks away from him, he knows the message didnât get through.
She shuffles the dvd case in her hands, tapping an erratic rhythm before holding it up and shaking it towards Pope.
âWhenâs the last time you saw The Princess Bride?â
âWell, Iâm friends with you, so probably yesterday.â He grins at her as she rolls her eyes. She slaps his chest, pushing past him to move into the Heyward residence living room. His gaze follows her until she disappears from sight. Pope rubs his chin, but the movement does nothing to wipe the goofy smile that Aster gave him.
Theyâre far into the movie, Fezzik and Inigo had just brought Westley to the Miracle Man. Aster yawns and stretches out, her head landing on Popeâs shoulder, snuggling into the arm wrapped around her. Frowning, she looks down into her empty cup.
âPopey, could you get me more water?â
Pope letâs out an over exaggerated groan, flopping forward and onto his feet and pressing pause on the movie. Aster giggles at his antics, passing the glass to his outstretched hand. He starts to move away, but she stops him with her words.
âCan you get me some more popcorn, please?â
âAs you wish,â He says before quickly disappearing. Aster giggles at his quote, but they slowly fade as the words bounce in her mind. She pulls the envelope from her pocket, tracing over the handwritten words with her finger as she stares towards the spot Pope had disappeared from.
The popping of the kernels is starting to slow as Aster saunters in. Pope jumps when she presses her cheek into his back, wrapping her arms around his waist.
âWhatâs up, lovey?â
âWhat do you think of my secret admirer?â Pope freezes up for a moment, recovering quickly as he rests his hands on Asterâs.
âHe seems like a wonderful guy whoâs gotten you some wonderful gifts.â She suddenly pulls away as if Pope were burning hot. Pope turns towards her, confusion clouding his eyes.
âHow do you know that, Pope? How do you know itâs a guy?â She points an accusatory finger up at him. âAnd these gifts arenât just wonderful, theyâre perfect! The daisies and the Thai Lotus and  The Princess Bride and the move quotes. Who else on this god forsaken island would know about all of that except forâŠâ She trails off, energy suddenly leaving her body as she stares into his lovely orbs. Pope clears his throat and pulls a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, staring down at it as his shaking hands unfold the used paper.
âI was going to wait till later but, uh, here it goes, I guess,â He clears his throat, ââI came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.â When Harry Met Sally, 1989. Love-â
âThe Harry to my Sally,â Asterâs eyes are watering as she smiles up at Pope, then she giggles, a happy and terrified and excited giggle that forces a smile onto Popeâs face.
âThank you for citing your sources,â She jokes. Pope shrugs.
âI am a man of academics.â
She laughs again, brushing the stray tears from her cheeks.
âSo it was you? All day youâre just beenâŠwhat? What is this Pope?â
He takes a deep breath, clenching his fists before wiping his sweaty palms on the side of his pants. He steps towards Aster, taking her head in his hands and moving forward until theyâre inches apart.
âI am in love with you, Aster Goe. I heard you last night, talking to Kie. Please tell me itâs me, Iâm the one you want to sweep you off your feet.â
She giggles, the giddy laughter impossible to control as she cups her hands over his larger ones.
âOf course itâs you, Pope! Youâre the best fucking thing in my life! Youâre the Darcy to my Elizabeth, the Westley to my Buttercup theâŠthe Pope to my Aster. I am in love with you, Pope Heyward.â
Barely a second passes after her words before their grinning faces crash together. Pope pulls her close, hands trailing down from her cheeks to wrap around her back. Her hands grasp the back of his neck, pulling him impossibly closer to her.
Both Pogues curse the human need to breathe as they pull away, chests heaving and eyes beaming. Pope pecks her lips again, quickly, before speaking.
âSo, is this just like a movie?â He asks, thumbs rubbing circles on her hips beneath her shirt.
âNo, this is way fucking better.â
The come together once more, lips moving like a symphony, perfectly conducted. This moment had been years in the making, and neither wanted it to end. They wanted to let the credits roll, fade to black leaving them stuck in this moment forever. The end. Fin.
But as they pull apart, basking in the love radiating through the air, they know there is so much more beyond the credits. A whole life to live, and a whole lot of love to give.

This isn't an ASK, per se, but I didn't find a separate button that said TELL, so this is where it's going.
You. And I. Have VERY different definitions of 'bad'. So I got around to reading the secret fic just now, and - come on, how can you even call it bad with a straight face? It was absolutely delightful. First of all, I can totally see Cinder - or, well, a version of her that didn't have to grow up using seduction as a tool to gain power - asking someone out in a terribly awkward way like that. She would absolutely be that kind of socially awkward dork, with different circumstances. The straightforward 'I intend to fuck him, if you really want to know. Not play Doubles with him.', was hilarious, as was the entire c-plot about Cardin and his underpaid friends. And seeing them interact in a normal context, a RELATABLE context, without the whole 'mortal enemies' thing, was refreshing, and I loved it. I totally think you should post it, I think you might be a bit too hard on yourself when it comes to your content.
Omfg why is it so damning read back what I've written XD XD XD I haven't read it since I edited it for like twelve minutes XD XD
Okay well I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think it's always worth sharing something if even one person does, and I really did get a kick out of writing it. The reason I wouldn't put it on AO3 for the average person to find is that... well... it is a little weird and also very specific crossover of interests, and also bad of course. XD XD
I mean I only see the weaknesses in my writing and I think it's also partly a defense mechanism, because if I already know/think it's bad, then if other people don't like it, it doesn't hurt (and I think this ego-protection is kind of sad for how world-ending it is for me if other people donât like me/my work, thatâs sort of why Iâm antisocial). I hate the sound of my voice I can sense in my writing, I have to do everything to elide it. But yeah most of everything of what I do falls short of what I want, and either I can use that to improve something (ideal, though knowing when to stop is necessary) or I can have a tantrum. It's 50/50 on what happens. Sorry for the dump lol.
First of all, I can totally see Cinder - or, well, a version of her that didn't have to grow up using seduction as a tool to gain power - asking someone out in a terribly awkward way like that.
Part of my characterisation theory is that meddling is involved in some fashion, but it's more harmless. I also think her seduction mask is also like, a child's idea of the way a sexy woman behaves, so I like injecting some sense of naïveté into it. I generally resist the notion that Cinder is actually romantically/sexually experienced, at least in a healthy way, but that's a whole other post.
I'm not sure why I enjoyed writing Cardin so much but like, that part really amused me. Cardin, that's a labour violation. There is also an actual guy who did comedy-like interviews/skits at tournament, so that's also sort of a sly nod to him because his videos were really funny. I'm certain that he paid his workers very well, though, I was mostly just mocking other YouTuber idiots lol.
Yeah I mean I love mortal enemies (o: it's just fun figuring out translating it to other contexts. By virtue of who they are in canon, it makes their alternate selves more interesting. Again: narrative effect only possible in fanfic.
Glad you enjoyed it above all and had a little bit of fun. Ask vs. tell is funny. You can use asks to send whatever you want, they're just called that. Like people use Tumblr for what it says on the tin (o:

Always Been The Missing Piece
This is, uh, a sequel to the Maribat Secret Santa thing I wrote for @worlds-tiniest-spook-pastry because Ailelie over at Ao3 gave me a good idea in the comments for an identity reveal fic because obviously they don't know the other isn't a civilian. So. Uh. I am planning at least one more sequel after this because I was given a perfect idea for BartAdrien identity reveal on the Maribat discord server and I need to write that too. Just, don't expect it to turn as long as either of these. And seriously, you really should read this only after Like You Could Be Family, because I seriously doubt this will make much sense without, but it's not like I will be able to actually stop you so....
(Also how the hell did I get to 13k? This has got to be the longest one-shot I've ever written please help me I have a problem)
Ao3 || First part | Third part
This is Maribat -- Donât like; donât read.
___________
âI donât think disowning him is even necessary to make him my brother, and it seems thereâs a chance we might become family regardless of whether this Bruce adopts me or not.â
Tim stared at the words written permanently on his wrist, rubbing the skin as though to see if they would smudge and leave. They did not. He had never truly thought of even getting a soulmate when he was young.
(Well, obviously heâd thought about it, rather often too. It was just that he always thought he wasnât going to get one â either because his parents didnât have one and he would surely be just like them, and then later, once he became Robin and later Red Robin, he thought that even if it wasnât going to be because of his parents, then he wouldnât get a soulmate because he wasnât going to make it alive to 18.)
But, as all things that had anything to do with Fate always did, it didnât go as he thought. After all, Fate was never quite so simple.
As it turned out, he made it to 18 and got a soulmark.
There was someone in the world Fate thought was the perfect match for him.
Then he for the longest time believed he would meet them while he was in the vigilante business because if his soulmate was a civilian, what would he even do? There was always a high chance of death because of what he did on a nightly basis, and it was certain he would have to disappear on multiple nights and occasions just to be Red Robin â no way he was going to give that up. That meant, that if he had a civilian romantic soulmate, they might accuse him of cheating, and then his life could be ruined because he was the damn CEO of Waye Enterprises and thus in the public eye all of the time. The words written on his wristed also sounded both like they could be romantic or platonic soulmates, since usually soulmates considered one another family of some sorts automatically â it didnât necessarily mean his soulmate was speaking about one of his brothers becoming their brother-in-law. They all knew there was a chance Bruce would adopt his soulmate one day (no matter what they said about that being unnecessary.)
Then he actually met his soulmate.
He met Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
A sweet young woman almost his age, perhaps around a year younger than him (turns out he was right when she told him of herself later before he managed to go and search her up), with black hair the shade of midnight sky, her eyes blue as Morning Glories. She was kind, thoughtful, great at baking (she could so some pastries better than Alfred could, and that said a lot about her skills), and she shared Timâs love of coffee (Dick had been horrified when he found her pouring energy drinks into extra strong black coffee after the first night she spent at the manor).
She was also MDC, Timâs all-time favourite designer, and it was suddenly much easier to commission her when she could just show him the designs in person and talk about them â why she wanted this thing here and that thing somewhere else. Tim was also much more eager to pay her a whole lot more than what she ever asked for, even if that was partly because Marinette was trying her hardest to lower her prices for him.
Yeah no, that didnât work with him at all â she was fantastic at what she did and heâd be damned if he let her do the work underpaid.
She never pushed his boundaries too far, only enough to have him open up a little, but because she never made him feel uncomfortable or like she was trying to use him, it was fine; He was horrible at opening up himself and wouldnât have done it without her. It was clear she knew what was alright and what was not â most of the time anyway. And even when she did push his boundaries too far, it was because she tried to show her appreciation to him or got too excited, and when he or someone else pointed it out to her (because she was bad at noticing it herself), she immediately stopped doing the thing and apologised over and over because she never meant to violate his boundaries.
And then she made sure to never overstep it again unless he gave her the explicit permission to do so.
That told him more about her than many other things did or even could.
She was also intelligent, sassy and sarcastic when she wanted to be, had a strong sense of justice and he knew for a fact she knew how to fight and well. Sheâd mentioned having done martial arts for quite some time and because she made a complaint about having nearly no opponents on her level, Jason asked her if she wanted to try and spar with him. She agreed and won two out of three matches, and though there was a chance he was just holding back (unlikely, considering how much Jason had talked about it on patrol that night), Damian had challenged her after that and they came to a tie. Twice. Damian then won the last round, probably when he finally stopped underestimating her and holding back. There was no way she wasnât good.
Marinette always tried to help people in need if she could and wouldnât take no for an answer when she decided that a person beaten to a bloody pulp was in no condition to walk home, especially not alone. If she had to pay for the taxi to get them home, well, she did, never expecting anyone to pay back.
She was absolutely perfect, if you asked Tim.
The problem was, she was a civilian regardless of how well she fought or how intelligent she was. He could never risk her safety by being in a close relationship with her in case someone found out his identity and decided to use her against him. Wouldnât be the first time that happened in vigilante business. It had given him enough of a heart attack to be with her while in civvies and get caught by the Riddler because of course he had to be there and there was nothing Tim could do to help her himself â the small and young CEO was not supposed to be able to punch a guyâs teeth in.
And then sheâd gone and insulted his fashion taste. Tim agreed, definitely, that green and purple three-piece suit was atrocious, but it was a horrible idea if you were a civilian because the Riddler was extremely sensitive about his fashion choices and a villain and he had hardly any rules as to what he did and to whom, unlike some of the Rogues. Marinette didnât even have any protective gear against him.
So yeah.
An almost-heart attack.
Turns out, she solved all of his riddles rather quickly, some of them with Tim once the Riddler noticed him, and in the end they all got out safely and unharmed.
At least half of the credit of that definitely went to Marinette.
The best course of action would either be to tell her, or cut ties with her, make her hate him or anything that got her out of the danger zone that came with being in a close relationship with him.
The second option was definitely not what he wanted.
And that was what led him to here, sitting at the table in the apartment he used (especially) when he needed an escape from his dear but way too invasive family with Kon and Bart.
âItâs just, I donât know what to do! I like her, I really do, but I can hardly pursue a relationship with a civilian. I might endanger her life! Weâve seen that happen with enough many of us. Someone figures out our identity, kidnaps a loved one and puts them at risk. Or sees us too close to a civilian while in the suit and decides theyâll put the loved one at risk anyway. I canât risk my soulmateâs life for something like that, she doesnât deserve it,â Tim exclaimed, groaning as his head hit the table. Thank heavens Bart had pulled the plate from under him just in time before his forehead would have ended up in his food.
(Though it was likely he was going to lose half of his food to Bart as well, it was likely he was going to eat Timâs food while Tim wasnât there to protect it. Asshole friends and all that.)
Sure, Kon and Bart would have probably had fun watching him ruin his looks (and hair, especially his hair) because of the tomato sauce and spaghetti he somehow had not managed to burn, but maybe they were pitying him enough for his soulmate problems to not just let it  happen for this one time. That, and heâd gotten injured in their latest fight and he would not honestly be surprised if they blamed themselves for it at least a little â that was what Tim kept doing if any of his teammates got injured when he was there and even theoretically could have helped.
âTell her?â Bart suggested, shrugging as he filled his mouth with the spaghetti. From Timâs plate. Oh well. Telling him to stop would probably not really help and itâs not like Tim couldnât just steal Konâs food later. Bart continued speaking as soon as his mouth was empty. âI donât see why not. If sheâs as amazing as you make her out to be, I canât see a reason why you shouldnât tell her. Iâm gonna tell Adrien, by the way.â
âDo you have any idea when youâre going to do it?â
âNope, but not yet âcause I donât think itâs fair or appropriate since Paris just declared their heroes dead âcause they havenât made any appearances â but thatâs not to say they donât know where the bodies are, perhaps theyâre just protecting them? â in quite the while, but I will soon enough. Wouldnât be fair to him to keep it a secret, right?â he chuckled and chewed on his (Timâs) food.
Oh yeah. Parisâ heroes, the ones that were apparently dead. The heroes they had thought didnât actually exist and were just a make-believe story to entertain people until Paris held a public memorial for them because they were nowhere to be found and told the people they just hadnât found their corpses, but maybe that was just to protect their identities. The reminder they hadnât helped them with their villain felt like a punch in the gut to Tim now, even if he hadnât been the one to make the decision to not help.
He shook the thoughts away. This was not the time for blaming himself or anyone else for it, he could very well do that later.
âKon?â
âI agree with Bart. If you think sheâs good for you, I think itâs better if you just told her. Itâs not like you would want to just cut ties with her to protect her and hurt the both of you at the process. It would definitely be like you, but I know you donât want to do that to the one person meant for you.â
Tim sighed and stole his plate back. It was significantly emptier than it had been two minutes ago. Damn Bart. As a last-ditch effort, he stole Konâs plate and scooped some of his food to his own plate, ignoring the rather offended look on Konâs face. His fault, he hadnât protected Timâs food from Bart. Besides, Tim needed to eat something proper, after all. It might have been a little too long since the last time he ate more than an energy bar⊠so probably around three days since.
No wonder he was the smallest of them.
Munching on his food, he sunk back into his thoughts while Bart and Kon chatted animatedly, the few words he picked up indicating the conversation was about soulmates and Adrien in particular.
It had been a few weeks since he and Bart met their soulmates, but both of them were definitely interested in them â likely romantically, but only time would tell for sure. Marinette was amazing and sweet and Adrien must have been the only one as much of a sunshine child as Bart was, though according to Marinette, he could be a little shit when he felt like it. Then Bart and Kon had overheard Marinette discussing Adrienâs father with someone and turns out, Bart was ready to run to Paris and kick the manâs ass himself, regardless of whether he was in prison for being a supervillain and terrorising the city for years or not. Not that Tim would have stopped him. After all, Stephanie too had decided to ruin his fatherâs plans when it turned out heâd become a villain.
...That was something Adrien could probably bond over with Stephanie at some point. Maybe theyâd found the âmy dadâs a supervillain and I had nothing to do with itâ club.
(âThe list of bad dads just grows and grows,â Tim swore heâd heard Bart say afterwards with a suspicious grin on his face. Tim wouldnât disagree with him though, he could name quite the number of them himself as well, one of them being his very own father.)
Then Marinette had heard Bart declare war on Gabriel Agreste and immediately told him she was joining â according to her, he didnât have a choice in the matter because she really wanted to kick his ass again.
(Again? When had she managed to do it in the first place?)
So yeah. Having a civilian soulmate was difficult.
Then again⊠What if he made her a vigilante? She did possess all of the necessary qualities and even more to become a good vigilante that he could think of. Perhaps he should ask her if sheâd like to do that. After all, she was now family, both Bruce and Dick had declared so (rather clearly and Dick loudly), accompanied by Alfredâs nods, Jasonâs approving humming (and the way he started treating her better than he did most of the family), Cassâ silent approval visible in her smile as she looked at Marinette, and a little reluctant Damian as well.
It wouldnât matter she didnât have any superpowers like some people did â none of the family did, and they were all great at what they did, even if Gotham was nearly impossible to save at this point anymore. She was already good at martial arts, knew how to take care of herself (if it didnât mean her inability to eat when she was supposed to or her reluctance to go to sleep (nightmares, perhaps?), but she knew how to defend herself and others.) She would make a good vigilante, especially with some special and personalised training. Now he only needed it approved by the rest of the family because she could and would put two and two together and realise all of them were involved with the vigilante business if he came clean to her as one.
Actually, that sounded like a good idea.
Then his phone chimed on the coffee table in the living room and he all but ran there, injuries be damned.
âHey, careful there, you wouldnât want us to tell Alfred you need new stitches,â Kon called after him before turning to Bart. âHow much do you want to bet that was Marinette messaging him right there?â
âNope, not betting anything when we both know full well it was Mari. Thereâs no one else heâd practically dive out of the table for and leave his food unguarded with us. Speaking of...â
âBart! Do not even think about eating my food while Iâm gone! It better be still there untouched when I come back, or so help me god I will kick your ass back to the next millennium!â
Bart just snickered.
God, why was he even friends with Bart?
Oh yeah, because he didnât know how to live on without him (or Kon) anymore anyway.
âŹ·Û”â€
Marinette paced around her room in the Manor, panic clearly showing on her face. Adrien sat on the bed placed near the wall, leaning to it, seemingly unconcerned. He was mostly waiting for Marinette to calm down enough to stay still and just listen for a second in between her freak outs.
Thank kwamii for the fact they had gotten Wayzz to secure the room and create a shell in which they could talk without needing to worry whether someone heard them or not. No one would. They were safe.
...They also wouldnât disturb anyone with it since it was way past midnight already.
âBut this ruins everything!â Marinette exclaimed, finally standing in one place long enough for Adrien to decide paying attention to her would be worth it. Or, could be worth it.
Adrien rested his chin on his palm, tilting his head. âNow, Buginette, I love you and all,  but this is getting ridiculous, utterly ridiculous (âDonât you dare sound like ChloĂ© right now, Adrien!â) Are you sure you need to panic about all this? As far as I see it, you could just, I donât know, tell him. Gabriel isnât a threat anymore, and even if he was, we arenât in Paris,â he said, and plopped down on the bed, propping one leg on his knee. Plagg seated himself on Adrienâs head, ready to take a nap, while Tikki had nestled on Marinetteâs shoulder. It was amazing how she was so used to Marinette freaking out that she could just stay calm on even a pacing Marinette.
âI know I could tell him because Gabriel is behind bars, and I should tell Tim because otherwise it wonât be fair to him and I like him, probably romantically soon, and I canât let myself pursue a romantic relationship with anyone that doesnât know because itâs too much to keep a secret, but I have no idea how to! What if I scare him off because right now it looks like the both of us are staying here in Gotham â or at least the States â and knowing the two of us, we wonât be able to just quit hero work either! Speaking of which, we have to design ourselves new suits because Paris just declared us dead like a week ago. Not Marinette and Adrien, obviously, but Chat Noir and Ladybug. Understandable, we just disappeared after the fight with Papillon and thereâs no way anyone would believe him if he said he didnât hurt us so why would they believe he didnât also kill us andââ
âNette, please, try to breathe and calm down. Itâs not that serious of a situation,â Adrien tried but Marinette had resumed pacing around and it was clear as day she was freaking out. It was also clear she wasnât listening to a word he said anymore, and barely even paid attention to the fact she wasnât, in fact, alone in the room in general. He sighed and stood up, grabbing his best friend by the shoulders. Plagg shrieked before he shut his mouth because of his holderâs sudden movement.
Now that had her stop and concentrate her attention on him again.
âI know itâs difficult for you to reveal your identity to anyone, including me even long after I realised my behaviour was a big no-no and apologised to you, and thatâs fine. It just means youâre being responsible. But. This is your soulmate weâre talking about. There are so many reasons why you should tell him and you know that if you donât, whatever relationship you might end up in with Tim might go horribly wrong if all the while youâre keeping a secret such as this from him.â Adrien took a deep breath and looked Marinette directly in the eyes. âI am well aware you like him like, a lot, so thereâs no way youâd want to risk losing him in either way â by putting him in danger or by having him tell he canât take you disappearing on him all the time anymore.â
Damnit. Adrien was right. Marinette hated it when Adrien was right. Mostly, because usually when Adrien was right and even she had to admit it because it was so obvious, it meant that the kwamii also agreed with him. And well. When Tikki, the literal miniature goddess of creation, said something should be done, her word was final. She had no way out of this, now did she?
âNope!â said Tikki from next to her ear.
Oh. Sheâd said that out loud. For crying out loud.
But yeah, she truly did like Tim, a lot. He was smart, could banter with her rather easily without ever making her uncomfortable by doing so, was never put off by sarcasm (which was, unfortunately, quite rare nowadays and that meant she found it rather refreshing), and he was kind. Also, he had a huge sweet-tooth and mostly a good taste which meant she could freely bake a lot and Tim would likely enjoy any and all of it. She could use him to test new recipes, too.
She also liked his appearance â a lot. His looks were definitely nothing to scoff at. His hair was black and silky, and his eyes were so enchantingly blue (as were many of his brothersâ and Connerâs, if she was being honest, but his were her favourites) and she couldn't help but just drown in them. He genuinely liked her designs (he says he loves them, her mind not so helpfully reminded her, because that made it even better and even harder to let go of him if the need be), he wasnât pretending to do so because they were soulmates. Tim also had such great ideas for new clothing sometimes â he had been a massive help with the design for her latest dress that she was planning on making for the up-coming Wayne Gala where he (and the rest of the family) had invited her.
Yeah, and Tim knew how to paint nails a little too well. Marinette was certainly going to use that little fact to her advantage and have him do her nails at some point.
Marinette also truly enjoyed spending time with his family and him. All of them respected her at least on some level (gave her the basic respect Jagged had taught everyone was supposed to give her automatically unless she actually did something to warrant them to lose said respect) and didn't try to have her bake or design clothes for them or have her do their chores they were supposed to do because they wanted a little more time to themselves â especially not for free. Never for free. And, even if they did ask her to do something for them (usually it was Jay or Dick doing so), they never failed to remind her she could say no and that depending on what they asked her to do theyâd compensate it to her as soon as possible in whatever form she wanted â whether that be money or new fabric or favours or them helping her the next time she baked something.
They didnât take her for granted, and that was freeing.
She was genuinely happy to spend time with them. Their presence, especially Timâs, was comforting to her, with him it was safe for her to just be herself.
Yeah, she was too far gone for one Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne and definitely did not want to lose him. She could only hope she was someone Tim could be himself with as well.
Honestly, her biggest problem with all and any of this was that Tim was a civilian and in case someone found out he was close to her, it would be no good for him to know. If the threat was magical, there was no way he could fight it off even if he was anything like his brothers when it came to fighting (she just didnât know, but she did suspect he was). She herself could get out of problematic situations rather easily, but there was no telling just how bad situation could get until Tim would no longer have any way to get away. She figured he had to have at least some kind of basic training because so many in his family seemed to know martial arts, he lived in Gotham and was a CEO, but she had no idea to what extent he could protect himself.
And indeed, because the miraculous considered her an adult now and she no longer had a time limit after she used her special ability (whatever it was depending on the miraculous), it meant there was no way she would even consider stopping. Of course, she still tried not to push too far after she did use that ability as to not exhaust the kwami she was using too much and sheâd made it her point to wear multiple miraculouses at once at all times so even if she had to detransform to let one kwami rest, she wouldnât need to stop fighting right away or wait until they recharged.
In a city like Gotham where she could be needed, this all meant she could not stop being a hero. (Though, she knew that Batman wasnât known for being too fond of magic users, or metas, whatever it was they called them, so she would need to have him somehow accept her presence or prepare to fight him and perhaps also all of his team that seemed to actually be his family â especially Robin seemed to still be a little child, younger than her when she received her miraculous.) Not since they had seemed to decide they were going nowhere from there, most of all not Paris. Â
They were never going to return, they really didnât want to do so, what with the entire city being full of traumatic memories to them. Maybe theyâd visit Kagami and Luka and her parents, maybe his aunt and cousin, but otherwise, no. Besides, their soulmates were both here, they had hardly any people they had good relationships with in Paris anymore because theyâd both eventually stood up to their class, Gabriel was in prison â which, in turn, meant that the majority of Paris blamed Papillonâs actions on Adrien at least on some level. It didnât matter to them that he had said that no, he had nothing to do with his fatherâs actions, and that his father actually abused him and he was glad to be finally free from him.
It wasnât like they didnât have a list of excuses to stay.
(Marinette wasnât going to admit it any time soon, but she had an actual list of the excuses to stay written down in case someone asked her and her brain wouldnât agree on cooperating at that time. It was also partly in case she ended up mentioning there were many, many, many reasons for them to stay and someone asked for a list; This way she could literally provide them with one. It was both on multiple papers and notebooks and on her phone â after all, back-up copies were very useful.)
Yet another reason as to why she should tell Tim â even though her Miraculous Cure healed and restored almost anything, it had mostly stopped working on her as it drew its energy from both her and Tikki, and now she was full of scars. Sure, it mostly healed the biggest injuries so she was rarely limping or bleeding long, and they never became devastating, but well. It still wasnât any good that she had to keep covering some of the scars behind layers of makeup or hide them under clothing. Thank kwami Adrien had yet to report the same was happening to him.
There was no way Tim wouldnât discover the scarsâ existence at some point, regardless of whether their soulbond was romantic or platonic (although she certainly hoped it was romantic), so it would be far better to just come clean about it before he eventually found out about them on his own anyway.
So yeah.
She also had a long list of very good reasons to tell Tim.
The problem here was, she had no idea how.
She could hardly just walk up to him and blurt out she was Ladybug when it had just been announced that Ladybug (and Chat Noir at that, but it was up to Adrien to decide whether he wanted to tell his identity to anyone aside from Bart â he likely wanted to tell him) were dead, she would have to come up with a better plan to that. A lot better plan.
But perhaps⊠perhaps if she presented him with a miraculous and asked him to fight alongside her and Adrien⊠Maybe Bart could be there as well if Adrien considered it a good idea?
âHey, Adrien, what do you think? Would Tim be a good miraculous user? And how about Bart?â she asked. Fiddling with the mouse necklace she was wearing, Marinette turned to look at Adrien who had, at some point, left from her side. Mullo was sleeping somewhere inside her hood.  âThey both seem like people that would like to help others if they could â I mean, Tim already tries as a CEO and I simply donât know Bart that well yet â but I donât know. I want to hear your opinion on this as well because even if I am now the guardian and could technically just do whatever the hell I wanted, youâre still my partner in crime⊠fighting, and since some of my previous choices werenât too goodâŠâ
Yeah, she did mean Alya and Nino. Also others, but those sheâd trusted the most, soâŠ
âAre you seriously asking me if Iâd like to have both our soulmates by our side ifâ no, when we are fighting possibly magic-based crime in Gotham or elsewhere in the States?â he asked, crossing his arms over his chest. She nodded slowly. Adrien arched an eyebrow as he looked at her like she had made the stupidest question he had ever heard in his life before. âDuh, obviously, of course I want them there. Bart would be good. Heâs so fast already â no, seriously, I swear, heâs quicker at doing things than Plagg is at eating camembert â, heâs a quick thinker and okay, heâs a little impulsive, but most of the time his ideas havenât been that horrible, so a miraculous could probably enhance all of it in a good way.â
âAnd Timâs got a good sense of justice and heâs one of the smartest people Iâve met. Heâd be great at any strategic positions andâ you know, I think he could work either the snake or the dragon miraculous really well.â
Adrien nodded enthusiastically. âNow youâre talking my language. Mayhaps the fox miraculous would be good for Bart, heâd get to be creative and Iâm sure if he got up to any mischief, Trixx would only be more than happy to help. Or maybe the horseâ actually, no, forget about that, I donât think thatâs a good idea because he might get the idea to send us all to anywhere in the world because it seemed like a good idea to him for all of two seconds and thatâs the one thing that would make everything really problematic.â Adrien sunk into his thought for a moment, tapping his nose with his finger absent-mindedly as he tried to think of something else. Then his eyes brightened as he came up with an idea.
âOh, the turtle! Heâs quick so it wouldnât take him long to protect those in need of it, and maybe in some moments when heâs too impulsive, Wayzz could be there as a voice of reason and common sense in his head. I donât actually mind his impulsiveness at all but sometimes all of us could use a Wayzz to help us slow down a little.â
Wayzz himself looked torn between agreeing, and strongly disagreeing and escaping before Adrien could convince Marinette to give him to Bart.
âIâm seriously considering this now. I have no idea how to give them one, though. It isnât as simple as it would have been in Papillonâs Paris â we donât have a Miraculous threat here and no one knows us. I mean, theyâve probably heard of the deceased Ladybug and Chat Noir, but not the ones weâre going to become. We can hardly just swing up to them and be like âhey have you ever wanted to be a hero? Well, hereâs a miraculous that will transform you into a magical superhero with the help of jewellery and a god like in some animeââ God damn it Adrien, now I consider transforming into LB the same kind of thing as your animeâs girls with objects to make them magically transform.â
âTheyâre magical girls, actually. And well, I have to say, we kind of are magical girls, you know. Magical transformation, magic, magic provided superpowers, magical healing, double lives, way too obvious costumes for anyone to not figure out our identity yet none of them do it anyway⊠Oh, and we have specific words to transform us along with magical accessories or jewellery and we have a literal transformation choreography! Clearly magical girls!â
âMagical girls, then, whatever. Never compare us to them again.â
Adrien just snickered.
âUgh, shut up, will you?â
âOf course. But yeah, youâre right, we canât just appear behind their windows and give them a miraculous. That would be just stupid and irresponsible, now wouldnât it?â
âWhy do you sound so sarcastic?â
âThat might be because I kind of am.â
âGo away.â
She had no idea how she could still stand Adrien. Why was he her best friend again?
Oh yeah.
Because he was the one who had stood right there by her side through thick and thin.
Thatâs why.
âŹ·Û”â€
âSo. Let me get this straightââ
âIn this family?â
âShut up, Jaybird. So, what youâre saying is, you want to reveal us all to your girlfriend because you donât want to keep secrets this big from her?â
Tim sighed and ran a hand down his face, exasperated. Hadnât he just explained this? âNo, Dick, first of all, sheâs not my girlfriend â at least yet. What Iâm asking is if itâs okay to everyone I tell her Iâm Red Robin and get her to start training so she can become a vigilante as well. Sheâd be good at it. I donât want to keep my identity from her in case we do start dating because then what if she thinks Iâm cheating on her or up to some other not-good stuff when I keep sneaking out in the middle of the night and canât even tell her what for.â
âAnd why do you want her to be a vigilante? You know itâs dangerous.â
âThen why is any of us doing it? It would anyway be her choice. Besides, if she was fighting beside me, she wouldnât even need to worry about me that much because she could technically probably see me and not have to stay at home, you know? I know I can see thereâs something in her that reminds me a lot of most of us, the need to fight for justice and for those in need of help because no one else does either. I can see the crave to fight in her.â
Dick sighed and tilted his head, his expression hard as steel. âYou really thought this through, didnât you?â
âObviously. And as to why Iâm asking you is because sheâs actually smart and would definitely put two and two together when I tell her Iâm Red Robin; The likeliness of Robin, Red Robin, Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood â yes, Jason, you too, have you seen the giant red bat on your chest you insist on wearing even though you claim to detest us half the time because we all can see it â, Black Bat, the Signal and the rest of us being close with each other, if not family, is quite high. Basically, she would most likely connect you all to the vigilantes running around.â
Bruce crossed his arms over his chest and shot him the Batdad-Lookâą, and if he hadnât been so determined to get them to agree, it would have probably made him a⊠little too nervous to keep on talking. Alas, it wasnât going to make him stop because he really, really wanted Marinette to fight beside him and if it meant he needed to bear with Bruceâs Batdad-Looksâą, then so be it. He was not about to go down without first putting up a fight.
Tim couldnât even explain how grateful he was for the fact Bruce stayed quiet despite the expression on his face. It helped his situation a little.
Instead, it did not help that he could feel Cassâ eyes on his back. She was sitting on the ground a small distance away from them, probably reading all of them like they were open books. He decided to ignore it for now â there was really nothing else he could do.
âAnd you know sheâs a good fighter â you saw her spar with Jason! You saw how she fought against Damian who actually, officially challenged her, like she were equal. He doesnât do that too often. We all also know neither of them wasnât holding back too much on second matched anymore, if at all in the in the third one. She only lost once they stopped holding back and even then she put up a good fight â the matches werenât over in minutes. Like, weâve all gotten training from at least the Bat himself, likely from many others too. She has not. That makes it an impressive feat. With training, she could probably be one of the best of us!â
Steph lifted her hands above her head as to surrender and to draw attention to herself. âAlright, Iâm cool with it. Timmyâs passionate about his cause and also I like Mari. It could be fun to have her in the team.â
Thank goodness, at least someone was on his side.
Dickâs phone chimes and he looks at the message, groaning when he reads it. âBabs told me to tell you all that she also says yes, that she trusts Marinette with all of this if others are fine with it as well,â he says slowly, before he puts his phone away. Itâs strange seeing him not cheerful, but Tim canât afford to care about it too much now .
Another voice spoke up softly. âI think⊠Marinette makes a good fighter,â Cass said from her spot, resting her body weight on her arms with the flats of her palms on the ground. She seemed thoughtful. Her words carried a meaning all of them understood, even if she didnât say it out loud â she liked her too and wanted her in, but that she too would like Marinette to get some training first before letting her out.
Just in case.
They knew she wanted to lose people just as much as the rest of them â which meant, she didn't want to lose any more people she cared about.
Then, a sigh. âYeah, gotta agree. Could be nice to have her on our side, sheâs fun. And Timberâs right, she does seem like sheâs achinâ to go fight a bitch. Itâd be better if we made sure sheâs got the necessary skills and stuff, and Iâd rather not have to fight her because one of us considers her an enemy or because she thinks that of us. Girlâs got some mad skills. Also, B, if you think about it for a second longer, Iâm sure youâd realise that if thereâs a chance she is going out anyway, Iâm sure youâd prefer she followed your rules, too, right?â
Tim⊠wasnât sure when the last time heâd been grateful for Jasonâs input had last occurred, but he was certainly ready to let Jason do whatever the hell he wanted with criminals during their next patrol together, thatâs how grateful he was. Yes, even if it meant Jason shooting them in the fucking kneecaps.
âYes, but sheâs stillââ
âSheâs what, Grayson? She put up a respectable fight even thought sheâs still clearly inferior to me, but I do not doubt she could do the same in the field. Her skills most certainly require improvement and bettering, and she needs to fine her techniques if she wants to hold her own out there without getting killed, but Iâm certain sheâs more than capable of getting to Toddâs level with guidance.â
Okay, wow. Damian was defending Marinette. He definitely needed to tell this to her â he was sure sheâs appreciate hearing the little demon of the family respected her enough to speak up against Dick and his father, the only ones of them heâd ever openly admitted held his respect, even if he didnât necessarily word it as âI respect youâ or âyou have my respect.â It seemed Marinette got the honor of being the third one, and she had been family for all of some weeks. Sheâd even gotten him to use the word ârespectableâ when talking about her.
She got him admitting to all of them, all of them, that he thought she was good and worth his respect. Now that was something.
So, Tim also appreciated him speaking up. This tiny (alright so he may not have been that tiny anymore and thereâs a chance Damian was now taller than Tim, but who cared, he would always be tiny to Tim) teenager was still the only biological child of Bruce and also one of the hardest of them to impress, so if he said something of this sort about anyone (the last time it was something about Jon but Tim hadnât cared enough to remember what it actually was about anymore), everyone would at least listen to him before simply jumping to decisions.
So yeah. If there ever was a time Tim wanted nothing more than to take his little brother out and let him find a few new animals to keep as pets, even if they werenât good as pets, it was now. It certainly was now.
âIâm siding with Tim here â donât give me that look, Dick, the ones already sided with him are scarier and more dangerous than you and Bruce together, so even if I didnât agree, his side would be the wiser choiceââ, Duke starts, shrugging, though there was a clear smile on his face. âBut like, Marinetteâs nice, like actually nice, and if sheâs going to become family anyway, I donât see why we couldnât have her in this as well. Tim has a good point â several good points, actually, so the logic is also on his side.â
Yeah, Tim certainly couldnât hide his smile any longer. Only Dick and Bruce were yet to say yes. Maybe he could actually do this.
Of course, he was not going to go through with any of this if all of them didnât agree. He could risk his own identity to his soulmate, but there was no way he was going to force anyone else to do so for anyone, least of all for someone that wasnât literally linked to them by their very soul. He would never compromise all of them for one person.
âOkay, fine. It seems everyone else is saying yes, so I guess Iâm outvoted here. I just want every one of you to stay safe, you know? I donât want this to end up being the reason any of you gets hurt.â
Yes, Tim knew that. Regardless of how annoying Dick managed to get a lot of the time, or how frustratingly stubborn he always was, or how his attitude was irritatingly similar to Bruceâs even when their personalities werenât even remotely similar most of the time (that one was probably causation of Bruce taking care of Dick for like a decade), there was never any doubt his love or concern for any of them wasnât genuine. That much was more than obvious.
He managed to give Dick a small smile, hoping it would convey he was grateful he finally said yes.
Now there was only one left to convince.
The most difficult of them (if you didnât count Damian in, anyway) to convert.
Bruce was stubborn as hell when he wanted to, but seeing as he was stubborn even if he wasnât trying to be, this could either be easy or the most difficult thing Tim had ever done. It had taken him a while to convince Bruce to make him Robin, but back then all he was trying was to have him take himself in and train him; Back then Tim wasnât planning on telling his identity to someone who didnât know yet, someone who could figure out the rest of them as well, and then have her trained to become one of them. Tim knew it, it was a lot to ask, but he wanted to do it anyway. It was important to him, alright?
Tim turned to look at Bruce. âWell? How is it?â He placed his hands on his hips and tilted his head, waiting for an answer. Any answer, really.
âI donât think itâs a good idea, Tim. What if something happens to her? Or what if something happens to you? Or any of your siblings?â
âBut what if something happens to her because I didnât tell her? And besides, something could happen to any of us at any given time, given what we all do on nightly basis. We could have also just not done it, but we are doing it anyway and like hell is any of us going to just quit. Out world is full of what-ifs, we cannot help them, and Iâll be damned if I let them make me lose the one person actually made for me, the one person that I was tailored to.â
âWith all due respect, Master Bruce, I must say, you have told your identity â even if only subtly hinted at it with a very specific set of words so that itâs enough for them to make the connection â so many times that I think you can hardly be against this. None of them were even your soulmate. Need I remind you of who everyone knew or found out without ever even becoming one of us? At least Master Tim is planning on bringing her in on all of this and planning to have her properly trained,â Alfred said, appearing in the doorway behind Bruce.
So sure, Cass and Damian knew exactly how to seemingly just appear and reappear without anyone noticing as though they could teleport, sure, Commissioner Gordon always complained about Batman doing it, and sure, the rest of them knew how to blend in with the shadows (they just didnât always do it), but Alfred also seemed to possess this skill â better than most of them, anyway. Tim had absolutely no idea how, but he wasnât about to complain.
Besides, it was Alfred, so it wasnât surprising. Honestly, was there anything the man couldnât do?
But the thing is, Alfred was also right. He had let Rachel Dawes find out. He let commissioner Gordon find out. Mr. Fox knew because Bruce had asked for help and equipment he then used as Batman while he was being Bruce Wayne â now that right there had never even seen subtle hinting. A whole lot of other people knew as well, though many had found out on their own â such as Tim, while some found out because of other, not so lovely circumstances, like Selina.
So, all in all, Bruce was the worst of them to say anything about it. True, he was mostly protective of them, always thinking up the worst-case scenarios about everything, something Tim himself did as well because that was the easiest way to make sure they were prepared for absolutely anything and everything, but Tim trusted Marinette. He wanted to trust her, just like Bruce had trusted some people. And in any case, heâd rather trust than live his life in suspicion of most people, like some people he knew did. Like Bruce.
Bruce opened his mouth to say something, but as nothing came out, he just closed it again. A defeated sigh slipped past his lips and he let go of the tensity in his shoulders, pinching the bridge of his nose. âFine, I can see when Iâve lost. I want to meet her soon after you tell her, maybe right away after it, though, regardless of whether she makes the connection or not. I would prefer if all of you were here then,â he said, motioning at all of them before he placed his hand on Timâs shoulder. âAnd that youââ he cast a pointed look at Tim, ââtell us when you are going to do it. I trust that you understand what youâre doing. I do not want to find out Ms. Dupain-Cheng is a danger to any of you, but especially you.â
âOf course. I take full responsibility of her and her trainingââ
âNo you wonât. Iâll do that, although I do expect you to be there for her and to be a major help. Iâm still your father and I donât care if youâre already 19, because Iâm not letting my children be that much of adults just yet.â
âHey!â
Bruce just smiled (a tense smile, one that was half-forced on his face) and left all of them (except Cass whom Tim couldnât see anywhere anymore) behind, gaping.
âDid he justââ
âOh my god he totally did!â
âPlease tell me someone recorded B calling himself a father and calling us his children.â
Tim had a vague suspicion that Cass had indeed recorded it, was going to send it to all of them, and then, depending on the reactions to it, would send a voice message of her laughing to their group chat.
Well, that definitely went better than he thought.
âŹ·Û”â€
âYou know, Iâm glad I have you as my soulmate,â Marinette began around a week later as they were sitting in the living room of the Wayne Manor. She snuggled closer to him and Tim wrapped an arm around her, comfortable and relaxed for the first time in a few days. âIâve known you for not that long, but I already know I donât want to lose you.â
She reached for his hand and took it in her own. Tim squeezed her hand back.
âMe neither.â Tim saw this as an opening â after all, most, if not all, of his reasons to tell Marinette who he was and all his plans about how exactly he should do it were born from the idea that he didnât want to lose her. And so, he stood up, still holding her hand, and pressed a light kiss on it. âI need to show you something important. Will you follow me?â
A soft laughed escaped from Marinette as she replied, smiling, âAlways, to the ends of the world.â
Marinette let herself be pulled up to her feet and led through the endless dark hallways of the manor. He quickly shot a message (âIâm prepared to do it, Iâm taking her down now. Be there in fiveâ) to the group chat before putting his phone away. When it vibrates in his pocket, he first looked at Marinette as though to make sure it was fine with her if he checked and possibly answered â after all, he knew it wasnât too urgent or they would have called, and as far as Marinette was aware, this was supposed to be their time together to get to know each other better and all, not time for either of them to spend talking to other people via phone â, the corners of his lips turning upwards at her when she nodded with a smile on her face.
It seemed smiles liked to creep up on his face a lot more now that Marinette was around.
The message was from Jason, and Tim rolled his eyes fondly at it.
I thought you were supposed to tell her instead of fighting her, babybird.
shut up jason
You know pwefectly well what taking her down means int his case
Oh yes, I most definitely do.
Itâs just so much fun reminding you of the existence of double meanings you either use to insult people or forget about completely.
But yeah, weâll be ready.
âOne of your brothers?â
âYep. Jason is being a cumberworld.â
âAnd him being a cumberworld definitely makes you grin and roll your eyes as though he merely made a stupid joke and you, unfortunately, thought it rather amusing. Got it.â
âWait. You actually know what it means?â
âDuh, obviously. After listening to you and your family for a while, it seemed like a good idea to do some research on different English insults so they wouldnât fly by me all the time.â
Tim snorted. Of course. Only Marinette would. Only her. Everyone else outside of their family seemed to give up on trying to understand after a little while, but noooo, this girl decided she was going to spend extra time doing some research just to be able to understand â that, and also most likely to be able to laugh at them. She definitely fit in just fine.
It didnât take them too long after that to get to the main study in the manor that Tim had earlier told her was Bruceâs and told her not to go in. Maybe that was why Marinette now looked quite nervous and anxious as he unlocked the door and pushed it open, motioning for her to go in.
âAre you sure we can go in here? Mr Wayneâ I mean, Bruce, isnât going to get mad at us? And you arenât about to kill me, right?â she laughed, trying to mask her nervousness with humour, but walked in anyway. She relaxed a little and the tensity in her shoulders slipped away the slightest bit as Tim shook his head as no.
He walked to the grandfather clock in the room and let go of Marinetteâs hand in order to be able to turn the hands of the clock. The clock hit 10:48 (Tim had always thought there was no one more grim than the Batman but then he actually met Bruce Wayne and found out you needed to turn the clock to show the time Bruceâs parents had been murdered, and was just like that forced to change his view on the matter) and the panel unlocked, opening the door hidden from view behind the clock.
Marinetteâs jaw dropped open. This was most certainly not what she had been expecting, that much was sure.
âWell then, my fair lady, shall we enter?â he asked, grinning at Marinetteâs flabbergasted expression even as she walked closer and tried to figure out where the entrance would take them.
She could keep trying; he was not about to tell her just yet.
The elevator took them down and soon enough, they were in the cave. He stepped out of the doors and waited for Marinette to follow him.
â...Where are we?â she asked, her voice a little strained.
âUh.â
âTimothy Jackson Drake-Wayne, where in the world exactly did you take me?â
It seemed actually telling her turned out a little more difficult than he thought. Well, no use crying now â he couldnât just brush off all of this like he hadnât just taken his soulmate down to the Batcave either.
âAlright. So, this might come as a shock and for the love of all thatâs still holy and sacred in this world please do not freak out. I just decided I needed to tell you this before we consider pursuing any relationship on a deeper and closer level than what we have now, regardless of in what sense it would be.
Marinette nodded slowly, encouraging him to go on even as she seemed suspicious (and anxious) about what was going on. Perhaps that was a good thing since they were in Gotham, in the city where you never knew who the person in front of you was or what they did in their free time (or at night).
Tim took a deep breath before dropping the bomb on her. âI am Red Robin, one of the vigilantes of Gotham.â
At his declaration, her jaw dropped. Again. âYouâ Iâ What?â
âIâm Red Robin,â he repeated and pulled out the domino mask he had taken with him and slipped into his pocket, putting it on his face. Thank heavens for Marinette and her need to give him big pockets whenever he commissioned her (and there was any reason to put pockets to said commissioned clothing) because of that one offhand comment complaining about too small pockets some of his clothes had. He scratched his chin awkwardly before realising what he was doing and pulled his hand down, pressing his nails to his skin to keep himself from bringing it up again. âI was also thinking, youâd make a good vigilante if thatâs what you wanted to do. Obviously, I would need to train you first to make sure youâd be ready for Gothamâs streets, but I thought it could help you not to worry about me if you saw me in action and actually had the chance to help me if necessary?â
That⊠wasnât supposed to come out as a question. Why did it come out as one?
But Marinetteâs silence was worrying him. It would be understandable not to get an answer now, but he knew her well enough by now to know that she would be mindlessly rambling at this point if it were merely shock she was experiencing.
âYou⊠You arenât a villain or planning on becoming one, right? Because even if you were my soulmate, that would mean Iâd have to take you down.â Almost certain he could feel Dickâs pointed (and amused, definitely amused) look on his back, he added, âIâm not about to go down the Batman-Catwoman route with this.â
That startled Marinette out of her shock and as she stared him dead in the eye, she blurted out, âSpots on!â
Tim could have almost sworn he heard an exasperated and quiet âMarinette, why couldn't you just tell him like we agreed?â as bright pink light enveloped her and soon revealed that in her place there stood a young woman in a red suit with black spots.
And a spotted mask.
Which made it a ladybug suit.
Or the Ladybug suit.
On his soulmate that came from Paris.
Parisâ LadybugâŠ
âOh my god. Youâre Ladybug. My soulmate is Ladybug. This is a thing now, apparently. Arenât you supposed to be dead? Actually, no, Iâve seen enough people that were resurrected, it wouldnât even be that surprising. How were youââ
Ladybugâs shoulders lifted to her ears and she smiled sheepishly. âHi? Iâm not a villain as you can see?â
It was Timâs turn to simply stare at Marinette. Heâ he was not expecting this turn of events. He sighed and waved his hand a little in a âcome hereâ gesture, knowing they were there and that theyâd seen her transform anyway. That would mean there was no secret identity problem anymore as her identity wasnât really a secret anymore, per se. Besides, since she was a hero already, they could very well just introduce themselves to her already.
He had to admit, this was absolutely wonderful as it meant she fit in perfectly â it was as though she had always been the missing piece of the puzzle that was his life and family.
Of course, though he was expecting fate to be a jerk and give him a civilian soulmate, Fate instead decided to cut him some slack and just give him someone that could actually keep up with him and the family he wasnât going to get rid of anyway, no matter what he tried or wanted (not that he wanted to get rid of them most of the time).
But well. A soulmate was supposed to suit you perfectly, so maybe it wasnât that surprising.
Ladybug didnât seem to notice his family approaching them as she kept on rambling and tried to explain herself. âIâm also not dead and never was. Chat Noir isnât dead either though he has died multiple times during akuma attacks and was resurrected by my Miraculous Cure. Paris just happens to have a tendency to get overdramatic and jump to conclusions, and Chaton and I decided we didnât want the Ladyblogger on our backs any longer. Neither of us is too fond of her, especially not after the phenomenon that is Lila Rossi,â she said, sighing as she cocked her hip. Ladybug shook her head and turned her eyes to the side. It seemed the name meant a lot, just not in any good way. âWait. If youâre Red Robin, thenââ
âHiii!â
Aaandd it seemed that Dick had taken that as his cue to make his presence known. How lovely.
Ladybug turned to Dick and then back to Tim, arching an eyebrow. âSince youâre Red Robin, Iâm going to go ahead and suppose this is your family. Am I right?â
âYeah, unfortunately.â
âTheyâre not going to try and fight me or drive me out of your city for having powers, right?â
Batgirl cuffed him upside the head as she skipped to them, walked past Tim and then looked Ladybug up and down before nodding approvingly. âDefinitely approve, though that suit⊠Am I seriously supposed to believe youâre our sweet, wonderful, talented fashion designer? Also no, even if B-Man or Dickiebird over there tried, Timmers, Damian and I would fight for you. Youâre staying because I like you. We all like you.â
Ladybug flushed lightly at the compliments and the otherwise sweet words, but to her credit, her voice didnât even waver when she replied (unlike usually), âI just havenât had the energy and time to change it yet. Itâs magic, canât change it that easily.â
âOh, okay. Well, try and see if you can recognise all of us!â
Ladybug bit her lip and looked at each and every one of them separately, her calculating eyes feeling like they could see right through all of them. She walked between them and around them, a sly grin appearing on her face.
âWell, Bats here is probably Mr Wayne. Heâs the oldest of all and I strongly doubt any of you could be doing what you are if he didnât know â unless, of course, it was Alfred, and I donât doubt Alfredâs skills at all, but Iâm pretty sure that back when Robin wasnât there yet, someone needed to look after Batman and I honestly think only Alfred could have that much power on him. So. Mr Wayne.â
Batman took off his cowl, indeed revealing Bruce himself.
As she moved on to Nightwing, she winked and laughed with an âI did do my homework on the flight here. Seriously, did you think I wouldnât?â Then she turned to look Nightwing in the eye (or, would have looked him in the eye if not for his domino. âIâm going to say Dick. Iâve been watching you all while Iâve been here â in both forms, it seems â, and I doubt any of you could pull some of the moves, or the attitude, Nightwing does, except for Dick. Donât give me that look, you did jump from the balcony at some point last week, landing safely on the ground after showing off and doing like a million spins and somersaults.â
Tim laughed. âDick, I told you, someone else besides me was going to recognise you for your somersaults one day.â
âYou too?â
âOh yeah, I worked out Dickâs, Bruceâs and then Jasonâs original identities because of Dickâs quadruple-somersault when I was a kid. Nightwingâs identity wasnât difficult either since, well, it was obviously the previous Robin.â
âOf course you would.â
Then she turned to Oracle in her wheelchair. âAnyway. I know youâre Barbara, and Iâm so glad to see you here too, but Iâm nor sure about you alias,â she said, her voice clearly apologetic for the fact.
âItâs alright,â Barbara comforted her and gave her a smile, âI wasnât expecting you to know it. Iâm Oracle, itâs nice to meet you. Iâll probably get you on the comms at some point as well because managing things is what I do now. The woman in the chair, if you will,â she continued, making Marinette chuckle. Tim loved the sound.
âThen the big bad Red Helmet over there is Jason â no, seriously, Jay, why in the world are you the Red Hood if you arenât even wearing one?â she asked, her face twisting as she looked at him. God, Tim loved this girl, she would happily stab any of their fashion sense with a smile on her face, and honestly, the helmet was horrible. Her words earned her snickers from all around the room. She was obviously pleased with herself as Jason took off his mask and gaped at her, offended.
She didnât even pay him attention too much, continuing on with her list. âThe scowling Robin over there is definitely Damian, only he could pull off those expression with a hint of Bat in them, and the current Batgirl is obviously Stephanie. Duke is the Signal â that was your name, right? Oh, and Cass, youâre Black Bat, arenât you?â At Cassâ nod and her revealing her face, Marinette let out a sigh of relief. âYouâre one of the only ones here with an acceptable suit.â
Ladybug transformed back into Marinette, a small creature appearing from her⊠earrings? before hiding inside her jacket. Tim decided to ignore it, maybe it was nothing. Marinette turned around, spinning on her heel to face Bruce. âLike, I know you need protection because thereâs no magic to do so, but you could have protection with suits that looked less ridiculous and atrocious than this,â she said, motioning at their clothing. âThat actually goes to most of you. I especially hope thereâs a really good reason and a story behind Robinâs colours, because otherwise I will not possibly be able to understand why anyone would go around as a vigilante in colours this bright.â
âThere is a reason behind the color choices,â Dick said disturbingly quietly from where he was standing. âThey were my familyâs colors.â
Marinette winced lightly â she too knew what had happened to them on that fateful night. âAlright. Thatâs a good reason, even if theyâre still horrible colour choices. That would make you the first Robin, right?â Dick nodded. âItâs understandable for you to want to use your familyâs colours.â Her solemn tone indicated she accepted Dickâs reason for it completely, telling them all she felt bad for saying they were horrible but knew she wouldnât back off â and they wouldnât blame her for that either â, and they all knew she was going to leave arguing and pressing for explanations away completely. Her limitless capability of empathy was admirable.
Then she turned back to Tim. âIs that offer about training still on the table? Iâd love to take it if so. I could probably win any of you as Ladybug because magic and a goddess in my pocket, also known as Tikkiâ Oh, actually! Tikki, come on out, come say hi to Tim!â
A small red, ladybug-like creature flew from under her jacket to Tim, smiling brightly. He immediately recognised it as the fairy heâs seen earlier. âHi! Iâm Tikki, the goddess â or as we like to call ourselves, the kwami â of creation. Itâs lovely to finally meet my holderâs soulmate!â
âItâs, uh, nice to meet you as well, I guess? I take it youâre the one that helps Marinette transform,â Tim said, a little confused by the flying, speaking creature.
âYup, Iâm an ancient being, older than anything and everything else, so while sheâs not the only one Iâve helped â the history is full of Ladybugs â, sheâs my current holder. Remember that if you hurt her, while Adrien can do a lot of destruction and damage ââ there seemed to be a double meaning behind those words but he just couldnât figure out what it was. ââI will be the one you actually want to look out for!â
Tikkiâs words were single handedly the single most terrifying thing Tim had ever heard, and it did not help at all that she was smiling all through it, her voice gentle and kind, her entire demeanour bright even when she was threatening him. He didnât even want to know what a goddess of creation could do as retaliation.
âIf I hurt her, Iâd let you do whatever you wanted,â Tim finally heard himself say. Those words were surprisingly true and ran deep, he realised. It⊠should honestly have been alarming. It was not.
âGood, you understood quickly. This oneâs good, letâs keep him.â Tikki patted his head â and such a weird image it must have been, a creature maybe the size of his hand patting his head â, bringing Tim comfort for some reason. He had absolutely no idea how she managed it, being terrifying and so sweet and safe at the same time. He could totally see where Marinette got it from. âAlso, some of you have definitely been in close â too close â touch with the Lazarus Pit, this place reeks of it. Marinette, tell me, why havenât we already taken Plagg with us to the Lazarus Pit and gotten rid of it for good?â
Marinette shrugged, unaware of what was happening in the background behind her â Jason gaping, Bruce in shock, Damian just staring at them like he had seen a ghost, which was a rather disturbing picture because sometimes it seemed the boy could get fazed by nothing. The rest looked just confused. Maybe he should just leave them be and try to focus on Marinette and Tikki right now. âJeez, Tikki, I have no idea. Maybe, maybe itâs because this has got to be the first time I hear about them and honestly, it should be more disturbing than it is that I, for some reason I donât want to know, actually know what youâre talking about. Is that a guardian thing?â
Tikki nodded before speaking. âWell, we have to do it at some point. Letâs take the cat with us as well, Iâm sure heâd prefer not to be left alone if weâre taking Plagg with us anyway. For now, though, Iâm sure we can talk about it later.â
Tim shook his head, trying to concentrate. âYeah, the offer is still on the table. Iâd be happy to train you. Youâd also get training from the Bat himself if you wanted â he actually insisted on it before this,â he laughed. âBut yeah, Iâll be there anyway. Fun soulmate bonding and all that, right? Fighting, training and sparring until we can no longer stand on our own two feet, thatâs all anyone could ever want,â he mused, odd warmth filling his chest as Marinette chuckled at his comment.
âYes, you get it. Finally someone gets it â looking at you, Chat. Having said that, I do have to tell you itâs a little awkward and a huge coincidence you happened to ask me if I wanted to become a vigilante, as I was kind of going to ask you the same.â
âHuh?â
âYou just beat me to revealing your identity and asking. I was wondering if youâd like to try using a miraculous, you know? Itâs so much fun unless youâre trying to save an entire city thatâs flooding and your partner is not doing what heâs supposed to and you have maybe five minutes left after you use your special ability but other than that, itâs great. I know you sometimes get even magical threats here, and Iâm sure youâd rather be able to deal with them yourself instead of having to get the magic users not from here involved every single time since itâs your city. Also, since Iâm not going to quit being Ladybug, and I will be out there doing my thing, Iâd like to have my soulmate in the team sometimes as well, by my side. Obviously, you can refuse, but like, I could see you being a good snake. Sass would like you.â
Tikki nodded, clearly agreeing with Marinette. He knew better than to ask if they realised what sass meant, or to tell them that he was already familiar with sass, since it was probable this Sass was one of the Kwamies. Kwamiis. Kwamii? He had no idea.
Then she turned around to face the others whose attention â all of it â went immediately to her when she focused hers at them. âIt could also be fun to see how any of you work with a miraculous once I get to know you better and know which kwamii would fit to each of you â I do have quite many of them travelling with me, after all,â she said, and the smile playing on her lips was easy to hear from her words. Come the next words (and the jab at most of them), Tim also knew for sure there was a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes. âThat, and the kwamii come up with alright costumes most of the time even if you have no idea how to design a good one yourself. The suits are much safer than yours, too, because again, magic . And god-given powers, quite literally.â
The little fairy â kwami, wasnât it? ... she. Something. â settled herself on Marinetteâs head while Marinette took out a small box from her purse, opening it. A bright light with a yellowish or orange hue appeared in front of her as another one of the kwamii took form. Marinette put on a necklace that looked like a foxâs tail, which honestly looked logical as it resembled the kwami as well â if they had something to do with each other, that is.
âHeya Marinette! What is it today? Ooohhh, there are more people to mess with today! The cat isnât here, I see⊠Wait, is this the soulmate thing you and Chat discussed? Is one of them your soulmate? Do I actually get to meet him before any of the others do?â The fox looking kwami seemed excited and it was a little bothersome to realise how much the kwami reminded him of Bart. They would probably get along, if they ever got the chance to meet. Probably not.
âWell, Tikki met him already, but yes, youâll get to gloat about this to Plagg, Wayzz, Mullo, Longg and the others. Except for Duusu, thatâs forbidden. Sheâs not in a good enough mental state for that yet. But anyway, Trixx, Tim is my soulmate, the one thatâs probably standing right behind me right now unless he actually somehow managed to stay still even in the presence of something new he doesnât understand just yet,â she said and pulled out two cookies, handing one to each kwamii present. Tim flushed as he realised she knew exactly where he was and why he was there.
Marinette didnât pay any attention to any of them anymore, only the kwami in front of her.
âBesides, you complained about not having gotten to patrol in a long while last night and as it seems they donât hate the idea of a miraculous user here, yet anyway â not that it would stop me, honestly, you guys need to get out and be used sometimes and as the guardian, itâs kind of my responsibility â, they might even let me patrol with them and thus give you a chance to go around. Chaton and Plagg wonât be there, though, and Iâm not going to tell him about them, so keep your mouth shut. I know you love knowing things others donât, but you donât get to tell them because then you wonât be able to keep the knowledge of more heroes to yourself, and Iâd honestly rather have Chat and Plagg only know Iâve told my soulmate now so heâs free to tell his. Also, theyââ, she pointed at his family, ââGet to keep their secrets, so thereâs that too.â
It felt a little too familiar to hear Marinette call someone Chaton, and it irritated Tim to no ends to know that he knew the one Marinette had called Chaton earlier by name, but yet could still only connect it to Chat Noir and Chat Noir only.
Trixx flew around Timâs head a few times until deciding on landing on top of it. The kwami started to eat the cookie, still there on top of his head, damnit, leaving cookie crumbles in his hair. âHello there, Marinetteâs soulmate! You seem rather interesting. Are you going to be trying to use one of us? Itâs going to be so much fun seeing what kind of a hero you could become with our help!â
But, just as Tim was about to answer, an alarm went off in the cave. They all knew it was a villain attack, and soon all of them got notifications of said attack to their phones, computers, tablets, clocks, anything they had promised to carry around everywhere for this specific thing. Tim groaned and ran a hand down his face.
Not now, we donât have time for this.
Even so, Tim ran off to put on his suit. There was a big chance Marinette would be coming along since she was, apparently, already used to villains (even if quite different from theirs), and he wanted to be there to see it.
At least Trixx let him leave without following.
âŹ·Û”â€
Marinette watched in wonder as everyone got a move on the second the alarm went off. It was so different from Paris. She hoped the civilians had more basic common sense than Parisians did, too, and would try to escape the danger zone instead of trying to get into it.
Barbara went to get a small piece of technology before wheeling to her. She took Marinetteâs hand and pressed it on her palm. âHere. This is a comm. I want you to wear it when youâre out in the field at all times so youâll be able to contact everyone, me included, at any time you need. They can also contact you if theyâre in need of help or something. That, and Iâll be able to locate you at any point I want or need to, so yes, you have to use it,â she told her, but Marinette gave it back. Under Barbaraâs rather scary and very unimpressed glare, she decided to give in. After all, she was â even bound to a wheelchair â one of the scariest of them. She was also one of Marinetteâs favourites in the family and would probably admit this to any of them at any given time, so she reasoned that played a part in her decision as well.
âFine, Iâll take it, but I need to transform first or it will disappear, though Iâm pretty sure I could actually connect my own, safer communicator to yours,â she said before stepping back. âYou might want to close your eyes, the light can be blinding. Tikki, spots on!â
Once the bright light went away, she got ready to unify Trixx and Tikki together. It would take her a lot of energy, but the stealth abilities Trixx came with were useful, as were the illusions, especially in a city such as Gotham, and Tikki, well, Marinette knew how to work with her the best, and the Miraculous Cure Tikki provided was the best thing ever since it could repair anything and everything if she was involved in it with the miraculous (and better yet, no one would need to pay for said repairs.) âTikki, Trixx, unify!â
âAlright, Iâm done now. I can take the comm now if you so insist,â she said, opening her palm and waiting for Barbara to hand it to her again. âYou can call me Lady Vixen for now until I come up with a better name, Oracle.â
Oracle smiled at her and dropped the comm on Lady Vixenâs palm. She put it on, adjusting it until it no longer felt uncomfortable in her ear. Red Robin had just finished suiting up by then as well, and with a grin on his face, he stepped to her side. He brushed over her wrist with his fingers and she did the same to him, because even with their suits covering up the skin of their wrists, it made them more comfortable, more at ease, more focused. Happier. They turned to look at the rest of the family, waiting for the go-ahead since she still needed one from at least Batman.
After Batman nodded to her and smiled (which honestly was not a smile and looked more like a grimace, like seriously, Mr Wayne needed some help with how to smile), Nightwing gave her a bright smile (like, an actual smile, unlike Batmanâs) and said, âWelcome to the team!â
She didn't reply, she knew she didnât need to, and decided that swinging off with her soulmate was going to be enough.
Yeah, she was happy to be a part of the team, a part of the family.
Especially if her soulmate was going to be there for her and stay at her side through all of it.

iâm glad you could have your weekend off! i hope you had some rest :)
iâm really happy we agree so much on yelena! but also thank you for making me discover her more itâs been really interesting to talk about her!
same for zeke, season 4 managed to make me forget about what he did to erwin but it still happened and i never thought iâd cry for a man until he died. i was very sad but also kinda mad for feeling so devastated about a man lmao.
iâve seen more lara tybur works lately, even a nsfw alphabet and honestly she DESERVES, if you ever write for her again iâll gladly read it!!
i (re)read some of your annie fics today and she really is one of the best aot characters, i canât believe i didnât care about her at first. i thought she was so cold (partly because of the dub version of my country) and before knowing more about her and how marley works i really was mad at her for killing all these people but context is very important in her story. anyways i read your post rumbling headcanons and itâs so SOFT, annie really deserves it after everything she had to go through, especially since she thought she was gonna die at a really young age, she can fully enjoy her life now. i am also a big supporter of lesbian annie, i donât like her with men and annie x armin makes me uncomfortable for some reason, people ship it because armin kept visiting her when she was in her crystal but it was him being obsessed while she couldnât do anything and i donât really see how itâs supposed to be romantic? so yeah i really donât like that ship but if i have to be honest i donât really like either of armin, eren or mikasa. all the side characters are so great and so interesting that the main ones can seem boring at times.
iâve also read the great hair massacre of 857 and please it was so sweet and funny!! the whole conversation was already funny but then âThere you go saying that gay shit againâŠâ actually made me laugh out loud askljldfijdf. the dialogue in this fic was really great, it seemed so natural!! i really love seeing that side of annie, thank you for blessing us with that content! she was so in character too, the reference to her relationship with her dad was subtle but very welcomed, her tearing up after saying âi leftâ made my heart clench, her relationship with her father is very complex and you wrote it well!
after reading i got curious and wanted to see annie with actual bangs (apart from that flashback we got in season 4) and i couldnât find anything, i really wish i could draw rn. oh and both the headcanons and the fic being in canon made me so happy too!! i know iâve already said it but itâs so rare reading aot stuff in canon i really cherish canon fics when i find them! (that being said, I absolutely love your AUs, i guess iâm just a big fan of your writing!!)
annie kinda feels underrated sometimes which is weird because she seems present in a lot of fics and fanart but she doesnât seem to have that many fans? especially compared to some others. she 100% deserves more love.

you're so sweet đ„ș thank you. i've been a bit sick lately (chronic illness so nothing out of the ordinary unfortunately) so i'm definitely getting lots of rest!
of course! like i said it is ALWAYS my pleasure to spread the love for yelena. i told you i could make you like her đ i didn't even mean to get into her as much as i have but she's so interesting and hot. i'm glad you leaded up liking her!
I WILL NEVER FORGET AND I WILL NEVER FORGIVE! i cry about Erwin on a regular basis. i've always felt really strongly about his character and i feel his loss all the time in the final arcs of the story, every time hanji and levi are without him đ if there's any man worth making an exception for it's Erwin, that man chugs his respect women juice.
oh fuck yeah! good, it definitely is what she deserves. now i'm gonna go scour the lara tybur tag...
pppffft i was in the opposite situation - i loved her before i knew shit about her character and then felt like a traitor when i pieced together who she was and what she had done.... not sure when you got into snk but i watched season 1 the year it came out and kept up with it so i've really felt every cliffhanger in my bones. i started reading the manga after season 2 aired. my point is that i loved her through Annie all along with her flaws from the beginning, and i've never thought she was "good" per se but it's also obvious that she's affected by what she's done. i always figured there was more to her story than we knew; her reactions, the way she cries over the dead, and the fact that she gives up on her mission that's literally her purpose in life all indicate remorse beyond just regretting being caught. even way back in the day i was like: SHE DOES NOT WANT TO BE DOING THIS!! IM TELLING YOU! my brother would constantly be telling me to shut up slksajdfkj but in the end i was right! i just didn't realize that pretty much ALL of the warriors didn't want to be doing what they did, or how complex it all was. she really does deserve a peaceful life being able to do what she wants. i used to cry about her having to die at age 24 a lot, so the ending taking away the titan curse is just about the only part of the ending i vibe with.
yep, same. i absolutely despise that ship-that-must-not-be-named, in my opinion it's a disgrace for both of their characters, but especially hers. it's really creepy, i agree. i don't blame Annie, being in a crystal with only annoying ass people talking to you for 4 years just left her a little confused. armin is gay anyway, i literally just block ppl who post about the ship. i love Mikasa but the other two i agree are pretty crap characters overall.
heheh well there are the manga caps from 139 but it'll be a while before we have her bangs animated. i'm actually so proud of how the great hair massacre turned out, it was such a sweet and goofy story that shows the lighter part of Annie's personality. eee thank you as always and i'm especially happy you mentioned the dialogue! and how it felt natural, that's such a reassuring compliment †and for the bit about her dad. i feel like i'm the only person who likes him alkjdfalksjd i know he's an asshole and he messed up bad but he does really care about Annie and he's important to her therefore her is important to me. can u tell that i have parents-in-law?
i agree! a lot of people seem to either have the attitude of "o yea she's pretty cool i guess" or the full on EVIL MALICIOUS BITCH!! SHE KILLED LEVI SQUAD REMEMBER THE YOYO! i will eternally point out the hypocrisy - Reiner and Zeke do just as bad and worse as she does but the fandom doesn't hate on them. whatever, i'm happy in my bubble over here!
#one time i got hate from an a/ru/an/i shipper telling me to go fuck myself with my faggot fantasies or something like that#and i was like hmm sounds nice will do. and tbh it is i highly recommend coming over here and joining me#j anon#tsuki answers#annie-isms#long post
