Chapter 1 - The Job.
I just don't know when to stop, if I don't have like 20 projects going at once I get bored. I waited until I had a name though, no longer will I be titling everything 'untitled XYZ fic. It was actually my fiancée who came up with the name.
Work summary: 141 retired and decided to open a delivery company. Only it's not a delivery company, it's a cover for less legal practices. Need a creepy stalker out your life? Someone owes you money? You need to disappear to a new life? Special Delivery Service has got you covered, for a reasonable fee.
Chapter Summary: 5.5k words, Simon x reader, female reader, name used: Dani (this is just personal preference, I don't like using Y/N.) You accept a job offer to work as an office admin for a commercial delivery company. Only the job is not quite as it seems and you come to learn neither are the people you work for.

Enjoy <3

You see the job listing towards the bottom of the page:Â
Office admin wanted! To start immediately. MUST have a background in logistics. Send CV to: [email protected] Competitive salary.Â
It was short, sweet, to the point and the most promising job posting you had seen all day. You had a background in logistics, youâd just spent the last 3 years working as a supply chain manager. Mainly it was just organising warehouse deliveries but it was experience none the less. You copy the e-mail and send the CV, with a job posting like this you didnât expect to hear a response back for a few days.
It was already 8pm youâd been applying for jobs all day. You decided to give up for tonight, the sofa and the TV were calling you. You head into the kitchen rummaging through the fridge to see what sad meal you would cook up tonight. You pull out a box of Chinese leftovers, they still smell good. You tip them on a plate throwing it in the microwave as you pour yourself a glass of wine. Turning the TV on channel surfing when your phone starts ringing, you go to pick it up. Itâs not a number you know but you swallow your nerves accepting it in case itâs about a job.Â
âHello?â You say.
âHello is this Daniâ A male voice comes through the other end.
âYeah,â You reply feeling nervous all of a sudden, you sip the wine.Â
âYou applied for the office admin job?â The voice says back. You have to think for a second, he canât mean the job you literally applied for less then 10 minutes ago. You look back over at the laptop screen the e-mail still open.
âHello?â the voice says.
âYes, sorry yeah, wow I didnât expect to hear back so quickly.â
âYeah, we need someone to start immediately, can you come down for an interview tomorrow?âÂ
âSure what time?â You ask, you need this job, you need to get back on your feet.Â
âIâll message you the time, and the address.â He says, you hear noise in the background sounds like a door slamming.
âThank you,â you say as you hear the microwave beep.Â
âNo problem, see you tomorrow.â He says and hangs up the phone. You take your food out the microwave and flop down on the sofa tuning into whatever soap was playing on the TV. Youâre halfway through your food when you get a text with the address and a time. 10am. You copy the address and put it into google, now is a better time then ever to find out about this company. Special Delivery Service, SDS, you donât know why that makes you chuckle, it makes you think of DFS, the sofa company. The address is close by only a few streets actually, you could walk there in about 20 minutes, thatâs convenient at least. From the looks of the website itâs a commercial delivery company. âDiscretion is our specialtyâ it says as you continue reading, there is not much info just how to contact them for a quote. The pictures are mainly stock images bar the logo.
Youâd never heard of them before but itâs not exactly like youâre in the market for commercial deliveries, it has good ratings though, that means something. You throw the phone to the side turning back to the TV. This was good, this is a good start itâs what you need to move on, maybe even a fresh start. It feels like the right time, newly out of toxic relationship, made redundant, all in less then a month.
Maybe you could use a nice change of pace, or maybe you would go to the interview tomorrow and it will be a complete waste of time. Either way itâs a step in the right direction and at least your mum will be happy youâve found a job, youâre pretty sure she was dreading the thought of having to financially support you until you were back on your feet. Now you were definitely hoping the interview would will go well, the thought of having to rely on your mother to support you was the worst. You would rather ask your ex, Lord knows he owes you one. You finish the food and lounge around watching TV until you start to dose off. You peal yourself off the couch heading into bed, a good nights rest will do you good, besides you want to make a good impression tomorrow.Â
ââââââââââÂ
You get to the building early, itâs sunny weather for once and you can see the large doors to the building flung open. You peak in and see delivery vans, the whole place looks like it was an ex-mechanic shop. A figure catches the corner of your eye, heâs talking to another man walking across the floor, you canât hear what theyâre saying but the shorter man seems enthusiastic about something. Before you can get a better look they disappear out of your line of sight. You look over to what you assume is the customer entrance, and walk in. There is a man sat behind the counter, he seems distracted by something angrily typing on a computer. He sighs as you reach the desk, his eyes flicking up to you, he scoots back in the chair.
âHow can I help?â He asks, his demeanour changing, heâs got a nice smile.Â
âIâm here for an interview,â You say suddenly feeling nervous. He nods getting up.
âYeah of course, come through.â He says opening a hidden door in the counter and you walk though. He leads you through to the main room it still smells of fuel, this place definitely used to be a mechanic shop, you can see the covered up pits on the floor where they would access under the cars.
Your attention is drawn to the sound of laughing and you see the two men from earlier stood round a coffee machine. The taller man has his back turned to you while the shorter man is chuckling, hitting the taller man on the back. His eyes move to you, heâs fit, well built, tanned skin, he runs his hand through his slick mohawk, you could have swore he just winked at you. You turn your attention back to the man leading you as you reach a metal staircase.
The second floor-if you can even call it that-is furnished with sofaâs and a kitchenette, you can see a dart board and what looks like a pool table. Looks like a cool place to hangout. You feel bad for not asking the man his name as he leads you an office door. He knocks and you both wait.Â
âCome in!â a voice calls, you think you recognise it, its the same person you spoke to on the phone yesterday. The door opens and you walk in. You look at the man sat behind the desk, he looks older then the other people youâve seen, his beard makes him look older then you suspect for some reason, you can see the bags under his eyes like he could do with long nap.
âThanks Kyle,â He says as you walk in. Okay, his name was Kyle youâd have to remember that. He nods leaving the room closing the door behind you. The man behind the desk gets up as you walk over to him. He comes round putting his hand out for you to shake it.
âJohn Price,â he says as he nods at you smiling. You nod back.
âSit please, coffee? Tea?â He gestures to the chair and walks back round the desk.Â
âIâm fine, thank you.â You look up at him smiling as you sit down. His office walls are massive windows looking down on the room below you can see people moving around now opening the back of the vans. You look back up at him as he takes a paper in his hand.Â
â3 years as a supply chain manager, studied business in college, pretty impressive.â He says putting the paper back down.Â
âThank you,â you say, not that itâs really that impressive the only reason you did a business course was to make your parents happy. You had no idea what you wanted to do when you finished secondary school.Â
âSo do you have any experience in warehouse management?â He asks leaning forward on the desk.Â
âWell at my last job towards the end, there was a lot of inventory organisation and I was pretty much left in charge of clearing the whole place out before the business went under.â You say, youâre not sure if thatâs what heâs expecting, to be honest with the little research you managed to do and the vague job posting you were not sure what to expect.Â
âThe jobs pretty simple. There are three main aspects, the first is the most important; the clients send us a list of good they need transporting, itâll be your job to assign it to a driver then create the invoices, paperwork, the system is already pretty automatic. A lot of it is just data entry if Iâm being honest.â You smile at him as he continues, so far it seems like a pretty easy job.Â
âThe second part is when a client sends a special request, the system is not set up to handle them yet so they can come through as errors, with just an e-mail address attached. If you can assign them to someone great if not forward them on to me. The system will let you know if a driver has available delivery slots.â You nod as he finishes, you could handle this, data entry, assigning jobs to people, easy.Â
âSounds good so far.â You reply. He nods.Â
âThe last part is just your general office admin work, youâll man the front desk, answer the phone, the boys will tell you if they need supplies ordering that kind of stuff. The hours are standard 9 to 5, 5 days a week, weâre closed Saturday Sunday.â He says spinning round in his chair and taking some paper from the printer.Â
âI live close by actually itâs really convenient.â You say.Â
âThatâs nice, if you want the job I have a contract ready, you can start tomorrow then youâll have the weekend off.â He says spinning back round straightening the paper out. Thatâs sudden, the job did say start immediately though, and you really need this job.Â
âOf course, thatâs great.â You say smiling, hoping he canât see your hesitation. He pushes the stack of papers towards you, you flick through the first few pages of standard workers rights.Â
âYouâll get 2 weeks paid vacation a year, sick leave and maternity leave should you need it kick in after a month of probation.â He explains, pretty standard. You flick through it to the end page with the salary break down. Holy shit!Â
âThe job requires a certain level ofâŠDiscretion.â He explains. âYouâre compensated for the inconvenience.âÂ
âWhat like I canât tell people were I work?â You ask confused. He looks at you like heâs trying to think of what to say.Â
âWe have clients who expect their information to be handled, appropriately. On top of that some of your colleagues like to keep their work and home life separate.â He says eventually, you frown. Thatâs strange and he didnât answer your question. You nod like you understand though, regardless youâll take the 'hush money.' Especially since youâll be making more then youâve never made for what is basically a data entry job, and maybe having to answer the phone a few times. It almost seems to good to be true. You skim over the rest of the legal jargon and company rules.Â
âAny questions?â He asks as you pick up a pen, you shake your head and sign both pieces of the paper, then hand it to him. He smiles signing it too and ripping off one of the pages handing it back to you.Â
âOne last thing.â He says hesitating for a second. âDo you have a criminal record?âÂ
âNo,â you shake your head. He stands nodding and you get up too, as he walks round the desk, heading for the door to his office and you follow him.Â
âIâll get one of the boys to show you round before you leave.â He says opening the door.
âMacTavish!â He calls as you follow him out the room. You watch as a man appears at the bottom of the steps, itâs the guy from earlier who was laughing. Heâs defiantly good looking thereâs no denying it.Â
âCome show our new recruit around.â He nods coming up the stairs.Â
âIf you have any questions let me know and Iâll e-mail you a full copy of your contract.â John says as he puts his hand out and you shake it.Â
âI will thank you,â you smile and he heads back into his office.Â
âJohn MacTavish!â The man says extending his hand out to you, heâs got an accent for a second you look at him confused.
âAnother John?â You ask as you shake his hand.Â
âAye, most people call me Johnny though.â He winks. Now youâre sure he winked at you earlier. He walks round you over to the sofaâs and the pool table.Â
âThis is where we chill out between deliveries, or just in general. Do you play?â He asks pointing at the pool table.Â
âOnce or twice, at the pub.â You say. Youâre still trying to pin his accent, Welsh or Scottish? Youâre too embarrassed to ask. He comes back over to you and you see heâs walking with a limp, itâs especially obvious as you follow him down the steps and he has to grip the banister for support.Â
âThis is were we load the vans up with anything we need, toilets over there and next to them is the store room.â He says pointing to the rooms directly under the upstairs office. There are metal shelves filled with all different kinds of things from basic office supplies to what looks like medical equipment and machinery. The store room door is the only door youâve seen with a key-code lock on it, makes sense. There is a long table surrounded by chairs and a projector against a far wall. You look over to see another man sat at the table typing on a laptop.Â
âThis is Simon, Simon Riley.â Johnny says as he takes you over. Heâs wearing a hoodie pulled over his head and a black surgical mask. Maybe heâs a clean freak? Or maybe this was what John meant by âYour colleagues like to keep their work and home life separate.â You extend your hand out too him as you approach.Â
âNice to meet you.â You say, he looks up at you for a second. His eyes are beautiful, a dark caramel, thick eyebrows and you can see strands of blonde hair peaking out from under his hood. He shakes your hand, his grip is firm, you swallow hard. Heâs giving off a different vibe then the rest of the people youâve met so far, you almost want to run away from him.Â
âDonât worry about him heâs always grumpy in the morning.â Johnny says leaning into your ear. Simon rolls his eyes and turns his attention back to typing on the laptop. John, Johnny, Simon and Kyle, you repeat the names in your head so theyâre burned into your memory. Johnny continues his tour showing you round the main floor, you were right as he explained the building used to be a mechanics until they took it over. Before that it was an abandoned munitions processing plant from the second world war. The building did look old, stylish red brick, huge arched windows that let in a lot of natural light. The doors were even old on rollers, thick and wooden. The more you looked around the more it reminded you of the old workhouses youâd seen in history books. Johnny leads you through to the lobby, the only part of the building that seems to have been renovated in the last 10 years.Â
âThis is Kyle Garrick, we call him Gaz.â Johnny says as Kyle stands up and you shake his hand. Heâs fit too, dark skinned, short hair and heâs got a lovely smile, London accent you can tell heâs local too.Â
âThis will be where you work.â Johnny says pulling the chair out.Â
âIâm sure Price will give you the rundown tomorrow on how the system works, weâre still working on getting it up and running properly.â Johnny says enthusiastically. You nod looking round at the desk, there is a large printer/photocopier in the corner and a plant that looks like itâs seen better days. At least the computer is up to date and honestly you can work with this.Â
âSo nervous for your first day?â Johnny asks as Kyle sits back down.Â
âNot really.â You say smiling.Â
âGood lass, thatâs what we like to hear!â Johnny says patting you on the shoulder. Scottish, definitely Scottish. Kyle chuckles as he goes back to typing on the computer. You feel like now is the best time to take your leave. You thank Johnny and tell them both youâll see them tomorrow.Â
âWait a second lass, here.â Johnny reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a business card.
âAny questions drop me a message.â He smiles. You nod pocketing the card and heading out. You look back at the building as you leave seeing Johnny wave, you wave back awkwardly. Why would anyone care about keeping there home and work life separate when you work for a simple delivery company? You think back to Simon with the mask, maybe heâs just hygienic? Regardless it was a good job, close to home and good pay. You wouldnât have to rely on your mum or your ex to get you through the month. At least that was a weight off your shoulders. Â
ââââââââââÂ
Later that evening your mother calls.
âHey mum.â You say as you reluctantly pick up the call, not really feeling in the mood for her energetic energy, especially after Johnnyâs enthusiastic tour. Â Â
âHey sweetie! I was just thinking about you today and I thought I would call to tell you, Anne from church has a job opening at her sonâs restaurant. You know Chris? He works at that nice Italian place, well I said you were looking for a job and Anne said she would put in a good word.â You sigh as you let your mother talk.Â
âItâs okay mum I got a job today actually. I went for an interview and they offered me the job on the spot.â You say.
âOh sweetie thatâs amazing where is it?â She asks, you pause, maybe telling your over sharing mother about a job you were warned required discretion was not the best idea.Â
âItâs just a small firm in the city centre, they were looking for a logistical analyst.â You say lying through your teeth.Â
âOh well that sounds fancy, I hope it pays well if youâll have to be trudging into the centre of London everyday.â You hear her chuckle.
âIt does mum donât worry, I start tomorrow actually.âÂ
âThatâs fantastic, Iâm sure youâll do great.âÂ
âThanks mum.â You say smiling. Thereâs a pause on the line.
âHave you spoken to Joe?â She asks, you sigh.Â
âNo mother I have not spoken to him since we broke up.â You reply bitterly wanting to end the conversation now. Â
âHeâs been asking about you, you blocked him or ignored him or something but sweetie I think you should talk to him he misses you.â You sigh, of course heâs turned on your mum, your sweet mother who couldnât hurt a fly and always sees the best in people. Even toxic abusers.Â
âIâll think about it mum, look I have to go I have an early start tomorrow.â You say.
âOkay well get a good rest and good luck for tomorrow I love you.â She says.
âI love you too,â you reply and hang up.
That night you dream of your ex. Youâre still with him trapped in the cycle of wake, make him happy, work, make him happy, sleep, repeat. The verbal abuse, the physical abuse, the days he would lock you in the bathroom for hours on end.
You took the lock off the door when he moved out. Youâre not sure why it just felt like the right thing to do. You bought a deadbolt for the front door and no longer sleep with the windows open, fearing he could scale the apartment building to get to you. Thatâs what he does in your dreams, he gets around all the precautions you put in place. You dream of him being in your space, questioning everything you do, insisting on checking your phone and e-mails, even your work ones. Anytime a maleâs name came up he would grill you about it for hours, no matter what you said it always felt like he never believed you. But then he would make you feel good, take you to the bedroom and treat you like a princess and it was like he was a different person.Â
âHeâs just protective sweetieâ your mother says. âHe loves you.â The bruises on your arm would say otherwise, wearing turtle necks in summer became your fashion statement for at least a year. âHe probably doesnât mean it have you tried talking to him?â Your brother was no better, to busy with uni to care, too much of a mans man to understand. Heâs gone now though and thatâs what you have to remember, itâs easier said then done.Â
 ââââââââââÂ
The next morning you show up early. Your body feels heavy after the restless night. You walk in seeing John bent over Kyleâs shoulder as their looking at something on the computer behind the counter.Â
âHey, maybe you can figure this out, weâve been trying to get these documents to copy over and itâs just not working.â Price says as he steps back you walk round watching Kyle trying to drag and drop a file into a folder. An administrative error pops up.Â
âMind if I?â You gesture for Kyle to move he holds his hands up rolling away on the chair as you try again. Youâre not the most competent with computers but you could probably figure it out. You try compressing the file first then moving it and it works.Â
âWhat did you do?â Kyle asks.
âI think the file was too big so I compressed it, do you need it sent in an e-mail?â You ask looking at John.
âYes please if you donât mind.â You nod.Â
âCoffee?â Kyle asks as he gets up out the seat heading into the main building.Â
âYes please.â You say turning to smile at him and pulling the chair over so you can sit down. Price explains how everything works as you get situated. He shows you the documents on the computer for how to answer the phone, and deal with walk in requests. The âsystemâ they have set up for assigning deliveries is basically just a glorified spreadsheet which is good, you can work with that itâs not too far out of your comfort zone.Â
âIf you have any questions just call, there is a direct line to my office if you press 1 on the phone.â You nod trying to take it all in as Kyle comes back with a cup of coffee.Â
âI didnât know how you took it so I just did milk.â He says.Â
âThatâs fine thank you.â You reply, as he places it next to you. Then heads back. John tells you again to ask if you need anything then also leaves you too it. Youâre looking through the computer making sure you defiantly understand everything when Simon and Johnny walk in.Â
âMorning,â you say to them smiling.
âMorning lass, guess we didnât scare you away yesterday!â Johnny beams, he seems to have too much energy especially compered to Simon who is still sporting his hoodie and mask combo. His eyes lock onto you as he walks through the lobby, his glare sending shivers down your spine. In a strange way, youâre not scared of him, more intrigued. He walks through the counter to the main floor without saying anything.Â
âSorry, heâs a rude bastard when he hasnât had a coffee yet.â Johnny says.
âItâs okay,â you shake your head. You look through the window into the main floor watching Gaz open the large garage doors out to the street.Â
âHey, if weâre both around at 12 want to get lunch together? I know this great sandwich place down the road my treat!â Johnny says. You nod, he really has a way of putting you at ease with his palpable bubbly energy.Â
âRight, Iâll see ya then lass,â he says and he heads through.Â
The morning goes quick or maybe itâs because everything feels so new and foreign that it takes you a lot of concentration to make sure youâre doing it right. Before you even try to do anything youâre already calling John in his office about the names, instead of it being Johnny, Simon and Kyle, itâs Gaz, Soap and Ghost. Gaz you remember but the other two itâs a 50/50. John laughs and tells you Soap is Johnny and Ghost is Simon.
Each time you give them a job they stick their heads round the door to pick up the invoice, you try to make it a habit of printing it out as soon as you assign the job, so itâs ready when they come in. You purposely give Simon a job over lunch so Johnny is free, itâs a little cheeky for your first day but you wouldnât mind spending more time with Johnny.Â
When lunch comes around Johnny shows you how to set the phone to go to Priceâs office and you both leave. The shop is right round the corner but by this time of the day itâs packed with people on their lunch break, you order your sandwiches to go and head back to work to eat them there. Youâre both sat upstairs in on the sofaâs, it is nice up here and you can see down to the floor below you gives you something to watch while you eat.Â
âHowâs your first day been so far then?â Johnny asks.
âFine, itâs just getting used to the system that might take a while.â You confess.
âYeah, youâre doing great though, my jobs have been smooth and easy all day.â He says. You nod.Â
âSo how did you all meet?â You ask.
âNow thatâs a story!â He says sitting up in his chair.Â
âWe were all military together, SAS.â He says. That explains the company name Special Delivery Service, you chuckle itâs cute, funny now you get it.
âWhyâd you quit?â You ask.Â
âOur time was up we chose not to re-enlist, it was Simonâs idea to start a delivery company, something easy we could do in retirement.â He says smiling at your interest.Â
âDid you ever kill anyone?â You ask, but then immediately regret it, you donât know if thatâs an appropriate question to ask. Johnny just laughs.
âSomeone's got to deal with the bad guys.â He says winking.Â
âDonât mean they didnât fight back. Got a nice fucked up knee to show for it.â Johnny says slapping his left leg. That explains the limp he always has when hes walking.Â
âHas John always been your boss?â You ask moving it away from killing people and being shot.
âPrice, yeah he was our captain, it just felt right letting him continue to tell us what to do.â Johnny explains, chuckling. You nod listening to him talk about their life in the military, heâs careful not to go too into specifics, but enough for you to understand it seemed like it was quite a dangerous job. Johnny mentioned something about bombs at one point, thatâs scary.Â
âI bet you travelled a lot though?â You ask finishing your sandwich.Â
âOh yeah! That was one of the perks I guess, been all over the place, met some great people.â Johnny says naming a bunch of countries off. You watch as Simon comes back reversing the van into the bay. He jumps out and heads straight into the store room. That reminded you you needed to ask for the code. Johnny gets up checking his watch and throwing his trash in the bin.Â
âGot a delivery to make, Iâll see you later.â He says heading to the stairs. You nod smiling. When youâre done you knock on Johnâs door before you head downstairs.Â
âCome in!â He calls. You go in, for some reason you get this feeling like youâre back at school walking into a teachers office about to ask them for the key to the storage room to get more paper.Â
âHey, howâs it going?â he asks smiling, it almost immediately puts you at ease.Â
âGood, I was just wondering, the store room, Johnny showed me yesterday but he didnât give me the code.â You explain. Price nods his head.Â
âYou donât need the code, itâs for the drivers only, itâs where we keep, sensitive equipment.â He explains. You nod feeling heat rush to your cheeks, maybe you should have asked Johnny instead saved yourself the embarrassment of this conversation.Â
âGot it, thank you.â You nod leaving the room and closing the door behind you. What kind of sensitive equipment? You hadnât seen anyone moving anything in or out of there, and youâre pretty sure you saw Simon go in empty handed just now. Youâre just more curious then ever. You look down the steps at Simon making his way up with a mug of tea in his hand. You wait until he has reached the top of the stairs before heading down. You smile at him, you canât tell if heâs smiling back with the mask but youâre assuming heâs not. You make your way back down as he walks into Johnâs office without knocking.Â
The rest of the day seems to go by slower, your mind obsessing over the store room for some reason. Itâs like an itch you need to scratch, you find yourself looking over to check it now and again. You get a few of those âspecial requestâsâ John warned you about, you try to assign them but it doesnât work. Clearly the system does not like it so you send them off to John. Itâs almost like theyâre encrypted, maybe you could figure out how to fix it and stop the system from freezing up every time it happens, a task for next week you think.
Jobs stop coming through around 3 and you spend the last few hours of your shift catching up on the other part of your admin job, then you find yourself cleaning the coffee machine. Johnny and Gaz leave early, apparently this is normal for Friday, you wish them a good weekend as they leave going out the vehicle entrance closing the garage doors behind them. You head to use the bathroom next, as youâre washing your hands you hear the door of the store room beep open and the sound of feet running in and out. You hear it open but you donât hear it close.
You hold your breath, could it be? Itâs open. Youâre excited for some reason. You quickly slip out cracking the door. Sure enough the door didnât fully close itâs stuck on the latch. Your curiosity gets the better of you, you canât help it. You look round quickly, you donât see anyone, you donât hear anyone. You push the door open, itâs dark you canât see inside. You take a step in and an automatic light flicks on. You gasp as you look around the room. Itâs way bigger then you expected, so big there is enough room for a table in the middle. Each part of the wall is covered in weapons, knifes, somethings you donât even know what they would be but they look scary.
The hairs are standing up on the back of your neck, itâs almost like your fight or flight has kicked in as your eyes widen. There are crates everywhere some open with what look like boxes of ammo. You let out a breath feeling fear rise in you, maybe it was airsoft? You move to look in one of the crates near the entrance. Nope those are real bullets. You shouldnât have seen this you feel panic rising. This is bad and very illegal. You start to back out the room, slowly youâre trying to be as quiet as possible. Your body hits something, not something someone. You hear a sigh.Â
âAnd what do you think youâre doing?â Itâs Simon. You slowly turn his head is tilted to the side his brow creased as his gaze burns into you. Fuck.

Your dads best friend König had come over for a movie night, just like he did every Friday. This time he decided he wanted to help you make the snacks, the both of you in the kitchen as your dad waited in the living room. âYou know mein schatz, Iâve never seen you take something so seriously.â He teased, watching as you read the directions on the back of the brownie mix box deep in focus. He laughed, shaking his head as he walked over to you, seemingly wanting to help. You jumped slightly at the voice of König. Not noticing his appearance in the kitchen.
"Oh hi König." You look up smiling at the man wandering into the kitchen. âOh donât get all jumpy on me little one. Iâm just asking if you need any help?â He laughed, putting a large hand on your back for a moment as he leaned down towards your reading level, checking out what you were doing. âLet me see hereâŠHmmâŠâ he mumbled, reading the instructions out loud with exaggerated pronunciation. "hey don't say that. I didn't know you were here yet." You look at him studying the brownie box in your hand. "I promise you I've got this under control König." âSuuure, suuure. I donât mean to assume you canât cook a box of brownies. We all start somewhere after all.â He said, walking over to the fridge as he grabbed some eggs and milk off the shelf, tossing them over to you with a smirk.
âMind getting those, will you?â He asked. "Being cheeky in my baking space." You roll your eyes and grab the eggs and milk from König. "I think I've got it from here. You can sit on the stools or with my dad if you want. I'm happy in here." âOh but Iâm no where near finished in âyour baking spaceâ.â He replied, walking closer towards you and putting a large hand on your shoulder. âBesidesâŠI think Iâm best being right behind you.â König smirked at you, slowly running his thumb over your collar bone with a slight chuckle.
"hey hey don't start now. Let me at least finish these brownies." You immediately shut down his advances. "Now go sit down." âOh come on, kleiner. Let me help you with the brownies, theyâll taste better if Iâm involved.â König moved your hand off the brownie mix so that he was now the one holding it, his tone was very much teasing. âUnless, of course, you donât want me close to you for⊠other reasons.â He said with a smirk, slowly moving his hands towards your hips.
"You can help me but no touching. My dad could walk in at any moment to check on me." You hold his hand that's on your hip. "I'd like you to keep your hand there but again my dad is literally in the other room." âWell whatâs so bad about your dad seeing us like this?' König smirked at you, moving your hand towards his own hip while still keeping yours in place. âSo, schatz. Should we continue mixing this brownie mix or should we skip ahead a few steps?â "König. He doesn't know about this." You lower your voice to a whisper. You place your hand onto his hip with his guidance. "We should continue with the brownie. I was here for much longer than I'd like to admit." âHmmâŠokay. Letâs get those brownies done before the oven preheats so we can hurry and move on toâŠother things.â
König smiled wide, his arm moving down your side towards your thighs and his hand moving away from yours so that he was in control of the hand placement. He walked you over to the oven, helping you adjust the temperature and timer as your hand remained on his hip. âDonât worry. Once the oven beeps my sweet little schatz can taste the fruits of our hard work.â He said with a smirk. "König..." you whine giving him a little punch on his arm. You step closer to him and whisper in his ear... "I think you forgot you're here to have a movie night with my dad. We still have to do that." âRight, sorry. I got distracted.â He laughed, looking down towards you and smiling. Even at 6â7 König bent down slightly so that you could hear and see him better and placed his hand back on your hip, his thumb absentmindedly rubbing softly on your skin. âI was just enjoying the view a little.â He whispered. "Yeah I think you did a little bit." You giggle.
You turn back to finish making the brownie mix and put it into the oven. König smiled with a nod, leaning against the counter to watch you cook. His eyes darting across your body at random intervals and his hand still on your hip. After a while of baking, the oven beeped and his eyes caught yours, a smile pulling at the corner of his lip. âOh, mein schatz.â He spoke softly, his eyes still on you as he ran his free hand through his hair. You go to grab the brownies out of the oven and place them on top of the oven to cool. "I'm going to set up the living room for the movie. You can come with me if you want." "I think I will.â König nodded at you, stepping away from the counter and walking away from the oven towards you. He looked you up and down, and while you were shorter than him by a few inches you could tell by the way he looked at you that he admired your form.
âWhat are we watching tonight?â He asked. You grab some snacks and some blankets before turning back around to König. "I'm not sure yet. I'm going to wait for my dad so we can all make a decision." âOkay.â König nodded at you. âIn the meantime let me ask you a very important question.â König looked you directly in the eyes with a smirk as he spoke. âIs it alright if I join you under those blankets?â "Hmm I think I can allow that." Before turning on your heel and heading to the living room to rejoin your dad.
König stayed quiet as he followed you back into the living room, his hand still casually resting on your hip. The two of you joined your dad and sat down on the sofa ready for the movie. As the movie begins, the room falls silent, the three of you focusing on the movie. König leans into you and snuggles up next to you as you cuddle up with the blanket and snacks. âIs it alright if I put my arm around you?â He whispered in your ear, waiting for your response. "Don't make it too obvious." You whisper back. âYouâre not fun sometimes, you know that?â He teased, laughing softly. He placed an arm around your neck and pulled you into his body comfortably, wrapping the other arm around you while his free hand fiddled with one of your fingers. "Hey I know that but he doesn't know about what we have going on." You nudge him. âAre you sure this is something youâd like to keep concealed from your father?â He whispered, leaning down so that you could hear him better. âThis is the sort of thing we should be able to be open about. After all mein schatz, Iâd do anything for you.â
He moved his hand from your finger, rubbing along your arm with his larger hand while staring into your eyes with a soft smile. "You're his friend, I'm his daughter I don't think he would approve." You fiddle with his fingers. "I would love to show this to the world but the approval of my dad is very important to me." âOf course, of course, your father is certainly a very important man in many ways.â König lifted his hand from your arm and moved to your cheek, his hand rubbing your soft skin gently as he stared deeply in your eyes. âMaybe someday, we can be open about this...in due time.â
He leaned in closer towards you, his body facing so that his hips were touching yours. With your faces inches apart the man gave you a soft smile, his fingers stroking your face and cheek. "König..." you scolded him under a whisper. "My dad's right there." âOh Iâm just leaning in close. Thereâs nothing wrong in that.â He said with a smirk. He knew exactly what he was doing. He moved his hand away from your cheek and back to your hip, using it to slightly pull you closer towards him. You shift slightly closer to him. With the cover of the blanket hoping your dad doesn't notice the moment you're having with his friends on the other sofa. âYou look so beautiful tonight,âKönig whispered, his voice so soft you could barely hear him. âEspecially sitting here next to me, in the warmth of this blanket we share.â König smiled again, leaning in towards you so that his body was completely against yours. Slowly he lowered his head until your shoulders were just barely touching, his breath tickling your neck. "aww König you're too sweet to me."
You slightly shiver at the feeling of his breath on your neck. Leaning slightly further into his body. âDo you think youâd enjoy being here next to me for more than just tonight?â König continued, his breath tickling your skin. He moved his hand to your neck, rubbing it in a gentle and soft manner. âI was wondering, you seeâŠif youâd like to be here with me every nightâŠâ You look at him eyes slightly widened at his ask "I would love that but we would have to tell my dad." You whisper resting your head on his shoulder. "Could we do that once the movie ends. I think I'm ready." König nodded at you, smiling as you rested your head on his shoulder. âOf course. We can talk to your father after the movie, Iâm more than willing.â König sighed, still having a hand wrapped around your neck, moving it down towards your back. König gave you a gentle squeeze, his other hand caressing your lower back as you sat against him. âYou donât have anything to be worried about schatz. We will always be okay, together.â "Thank you König, you might have to help me tell him. I might fall apart." You continue to whisper to him âThatâs quite alright.â He replied, smiling down at your head. âEven if you do fall apart, ich bin fĂŒr dich da. Iâll be there for you.â He moved both of his hands to your back, rubbing them up and down. âIâm sure everything will be fine, schatz. It will just be the two of us after tonight and your father is very open minded, na ja?" "That's true I think I'm overthinking this." You turn to continue to watch the rest of the movie cuddled into König. âOf course youâre overthinking.â König laughed, squeezing you even tighter. âYour Vater will be just fine when he finds out about us.â
The movie finishes and the credits are rolling, silence taking over the room. Your father, who had been watching the movie, turns to face you both. âSo, how are you both doing?â Your father asks, smiling. König turns to you and speaks softly but at a normal volume now. âShall we tell him?â "I don't know. I'm overthinking this too much." König sighed. âAlright. Iâm just going to do it and trust that youâll be calm once I tell your father.â He took a deep breath and turned so that he was facing your father. âYour daughter and I, wir sind zusammen.â Your father looked down at the two of you, nodding with a calm smile. âMein Gott, Iâm happy for both of you.â Your father stood up, placing his hand on Königâs shoulder. âItâs always good to hear that my daughter is happy.â You smile at both König and your dad, relief overcomes you happy that he now knows about you two. Your father hugged you, embracing you with a wide smile on his face âThank you meine Tochter for telling me. I am very happy that you found love.â
König sat back down and put his arm back around you, smiling at your father and leaning down to whisper to you. âSee, what did I tell you? Your father is very understanding and happy for you schatz. "I know I was just worried for nothing I guess." You lean into his embrace. âItâs alright, mein schatz. Your worries were reasonable but your Vater has shown he does not mind this arrangement at all.â König smiled at your father, shaking his head slightly. âI must say, this man has a big heart for being so forgiving for his daughter.â Your father laughed, nodding his head as he looked back at the television âThank you both for telling me. Iâm so very happy you both found happiness and love, especially after what this world has put you both through.â "Thank you dad. I'm so glad you're happy for me even though it's not the most conventional. I love you so much." âDo not worry, meine Tochter. I am a very open minded person, especially when it comes to the things my daughter gets up to. And this, if I might say so, is quite sweet.â Your father smiled up at you, looking at you and König snuggled up together.
âDo you want any tea or coffee?â He asked. âYes please Papa.â You replied before looking to König. âWhat would you like?â "I'll have a coffee please Papa. König anything for you?" You look up at him waiting for his response. âJust coffee for me as well." König smiled up at your father and then looked back to you. âSchatz..? I think your father wants to have a private word with you, at least thatâs the vibe Iâm getting.â You looked towards your father with a confused expression and König moved to stand.
âIâll be waiting for you.â He murmured softly. "I'll be back my love. Just stay here I shouldn't be too long." You kiss his lips and head to the with your dad to make the coffee. âAlright meine schatz, Iâll be here.â König smiled at you and remained on the far end of the couch after you left, looking towards your father as you and him walked out of the room. You walk into the kitchen following in after your father closing the door closing behind the two of you.
âMeine Tochter, ich muss etwas mit dir reden.â Your father whispered, looking down at you with a sincere and worried expression. "Was ist los, papa?" you respond to him. âIâm a little worried about you and König being together.â Your father started the conversation, the two of you sitting at the table together. âI know youâre both adults and you deserve to be happy, but Iâm worried that this connection between you two is just a result of your trauma. I know youâre hurting and youâre looking for comfort. And he is so kind to be there for you. I just wanted to say that Iâm worried this is a short term thing, not long-term.â "I know Papa but it's really not. We have an actual connection. There is a chance it's through our shared trauma but we care about each other really deeply." âI see. Iâm just worried that this is all just a part of the healing process. You know I have your best interests at heart and I want to protect you from harm.â Your father sighed and then sat quietly for a bit, staring at you with a concerned look.
âCan I ask you something?â He finally whispered. âItâs just that...Iâm a bit worried about his intentions. He may just be wanting you because you two can connect over your shared traumas.â Your father looked down at you, biting his lip. âIâm sorry but Iâm just looking out for you. I need you to remember that wir sind hier if you ever need me. Oder?â 'NatĂŒrlich.â König chimed in from the other room, his tone quiet and soft. "I know Papa." You hug him before hearing König from the other room. âI do love you, meine schatz, even if Iâm over protective.â Your father whispered. You hugged him back, nodding your head slowly.
In the adjacent room, König spoke up again loudly enough to hear his voice, âIâm just here to be by your side, meine schatz. I will always be there to support you.â You look at the open door laughing softly at your boyfriend's voice. "I know you are meine schatz" you respond loud enough so he can hear it too. König smiled to himself and walked over to the open door. âSchatz, if I mayâŠI do love you with all my heart and I hope that you can see yourself with me in the long run." âIch wĂŒnsche mir nur das Beste fĂŒr dich, meine Tochter. Du bist ein gutes MĂ€dchen, das sich um nichts sorgen muss. Ich möchte nur dein GlĂŒck sehen.â "I can meine liebe I love you so much." You turn to your dad. "I'm so glad I have your approval even though you have your doubts about us." âDo not misunderstand your father.â König chuckled softly, leaning against the wall near the door. âHe is very understanding and accepting.â Your father still talked with you quietly.
âIch glaube dir, meine Tochter. Du bist so wie du bist und das ist gut. Du bist ein wirklich gutes MĂ€dchen.â He sighed and looked down at you, smiling. âAber ich bin nur ein Vater, der sein Kind liebt. Ich bin nur besorgt, dass es richtig und dass es aufrichtig ist.â "I know König I understand what he's saying though." You smile up at him. Turning back to your father and speaking quietly. "You'll always be worried Papa and that's okay but you can trust me with this one and I can assure you of it" âI know, meine Tochter. And ich glaube dir. It is always good to be worried about the ones you love. Do not hold this against me. Now, can I have a kiss? You know how much I enjoy my kĂŒsse.â
Your father laughed quietly, placing his hands on your cheeks and bringing you in for a tight hug. You hug and kiss your father knowing he finally approves of your relationship with his friend. You look over to König who's smiling at the interaction hoping he's also thinking the same thing as you. König looked over to you with a smile on his face. He was glad to see you so happy and to know that your father approved of the relationship he had with you. âMeine schatz, it looks like heâs finally given us his blessing.â He said, coming up beside you. âDo you want to head back into the other room and watch another movie?â "I think he has. Let me make us all the coffee we were going to have and we can go back in and watch another movie." König nodded and smiled. âAlright. Iâll be waiting with your father in the other room.â
König started to walk back into the living room, turning to your father. âWas schön das er uns akzeptiert.â Your father smiled back at König and nodded. âNatĂŒrlich mein Freund. Ich will nur, dass meine Tochter glĂŒcklich und sicher ist!â The two of them talked in their natural tongue for a bit, laughing and joking as you made the coffee. You make the coffee smiling at the two men speaking in their native tongue. Finishing up the three coffees you head back into the living room and place them on the table in the middle of the room. The two men are still chatting in their native tongue. König turned to you as you set down the coffee mugs and then looked back to your father, who spoke briefly in German before switching to English. âMeine Tochter would you mind if König stayed here tonight?â Your father spoke softly, turning to you with a concerned expression. âI donât want you to get a cold coming home, das ist nicht gut fĂŒr dich.â König smiled at you sweetly, speaking up once more.
âMir ist es egal. Ich bin froh dass ich hier bleiben kann.â "Papa of course König can stay the night it is extremely cold outside." âThank you meine Tochter. You are so kind.â Your father turned back to look at König. âNatĂŒrlich kannst du hier bleiben, König. Ich werde ein Schlafzimmer fĂŒr dich leeren.â König nodded, still smiling at you as your father went upstairs to make room for the two of you.
âWe should probably get you to bed meine Schatze unless we want to cuddle all night. Which is actually what I would prefer.â "Cuddling all night sounds amazing meine liebe as long as you're here with me I have no care." You give him a quick kiss on the lips. König looked down at you, smiling. âCuddling sounds like a nice way for us to spend the rest of our evening. Iâm afraid youâll get cold if you stay up much longer,â he added in a light teasing tone. âKomm, ich möchte, dass wir die Nacht zusammen verbringen.â König moved his hand to your back, rubbing it in a gentle and loving manner before starting to walk to your room, turning around to look at you. âAre you coming?â "Yeah just quickly tidying the living room then I'll be there okay." âOkay meine schatz. Iâll be waiting. Please hurry, as I think both of us want to get into bed together. Nicht war?â
König smiled and winked at you as he turned around to face forward and start walking back towards your room again, still rubbing your back affectionately. He was ready for bed and to spend the rest of the evening in cuddles with his sweet princess. You quickly tidy the bowls and cups from the living room into the kitchen and head up to your room where König is waiting. âYou ready meine Liebe?â König looked back and smiled warmly up at you as you entered the room. You looked back to see your room had been prepared with sheets and pillows for you two, although some of your old possessions are still littered around the room. König walked over to you and wrapped his arms around your waist, placing his hands on your hips and looking down at you with a loving smile. âCome my Schatz. I want to be in your arms as you fall asleep.â
You quickly grab your night clothes and get changed in the bathroom before heading back to your room to rejoin König in bed. König lay down comfortably on your bed, pulling the blankets back for you as you got out of the bathroom. He laid there for a few seconds before calling out to you. âMeine schatz, komm hier. Es ist ganz gemĂŒtlich. He smiled at you patiently, looking forward to snuggling up with his love. You get into bed whispering in his ear. "I know it's comfortable my love. You're here now." âEs ist immer gemĂŒtlich, wenn wir zusammen sind.â König snuggled up next to you under the blankets, smiling softly. âSchlafen Sie gut meine liebe. Ich liebe dich.â König began to gently brush and caress your hair, rubbing your neck and your back in the process and speaking softly. âGute Nacht, meine kleine Schatze, bis morgen.â You quietly laugh at his tired voice falling back into his native tongue "Gute Nacht Liebling, ich liebe dich sehr." You feel yourself drifting off to sleep with him rubbing your neck. âIch liebe dich auch sehr meine Schatze. Gute Nacht, meine kleine FrĂ€ulein, sweet dreams.â
König closed his eyes and embraced you tightly, slowly drifting off himself as he took care of you in sleep. His voice was soft and comforting as he caressed you and spoke sweetly. You didnât see him fall asleep but when you woke the next morning he was no longer next to you in bed. You could hear soft footsteps and quiet voices coming from the kitchen, your father and König. You turn onto your back smiling at yourself finally happy for the first time in a while.

Pretty lame move on ur bf's part to assume I'm fetishizing fatness and then when I stand up for myself, replying to and blocking me before I have a chance to respond. I didn't even get to read his response, I saw the notif on my phone and opened it up and his comments are gone and I can't find his account. If he assumes everyone means him harm and then blocks them before they can explain themselves they are forever cemented in his mind as being harmful which will just lead to him thinking that more and more people mean him harm and he will live out a sad, lonely and terrified existence. For his sake I hope he cultivates a thicker skin as it's is important to living. Being able to be uncomfortable but still open to people and ideas is imperative to learning stuff from others. For my part, I was joking about love handles because I think it's funny to not know parts of the body with weird names that are often critisized and used to shame people. I didn't know what hip dips were until I was 19. I knew that love handles were something in the lower torso to upper thigh region but I wasn't sure until you told me today. I pride myself on not having much body issues (appart from gender things) and very consiously not judging people on their bodies. I genuinely don't understand how he got fetishization or thinking fatness is dirty from me joking about not knowing the meaning of a word.
I'd actually love to be told how what I said was interpretted that way, so I can avoid from doing something similar in the future. So if you or he want to tell me I'd genuinely really appreciate it. I like learning and I don't like hurting people's feelings.
That's literally all I asked for, to know what went wrong for my message to be misinterpretted. The heart might have come across as sarcastic, but I was trying to mimic the energy of his reply.
Sorry if this is an overwhelming text wall, I just get really upset when this happens because I don't know what I did wrong and I want to be more informed but people just block me and I have no way to stop feeling like I'm secretly a bad person and just don't know it. Also the first paragraph is kind of meanly worded, it was the first thing I wrote and I was still really mad. I reworked some of it to not be as mean but I still believe in the point I was trying to make.
first of all never put an essay this big in my ask box again. iâm dead serious i will just block anyone else who does this because i have a life and shit to do and do not want to spend my time on internet arguments.
secondly, it was a positivity post about something that is frequently insulted and belittled. just google love handles and see what comes up. REALLY not the time to make jokes.
my boyfriend states âTell them that like. Iâve been antagonized enough so the whole âsh sh sh I donât want to knowâ came across as if talking about fatness was something that had to be silenced because it was taboo or was being treated like it was some disgusting kink that had to be shielded from the publicâs eyes.â
third, youâre insulting my boyfriend (whether you realize it or not) so if youre expecting me to just calmly approach this, youre dead wrong. speaking of which, really interesting that youâre saying my bf needs a thicker skin when heâs been subject to fatphobia his entire life, and then when he blocks you you send me this.
this is in fact a really weird thing to send someone. my bf can block whoever the fuck he wants and thats his business alone. and if you feel guilty about it that is not his or my problem. quite frankly the only emotion i feel right now is annoyance. i am not interested in continuing this conversation further

àŹȘ( à»àčË̶ÍâË̶Í)à©Â  ⶠđĄđđđŠđĄđđ€đđ đđđđđđđđĄđđđ !

gather round, tinytowners ! the time for celebration has come & i'm absolutely over the moon about hitting two - hundred followers. it may seem like a small milestone to others but to me it's a gift given to me by supporters - so, thank you from the bottom of your ol' pal coco's heart.
content creation isn't something i ever saw myself going into as i'd led myself to believe that creativity was never my strong point. but with the support received for my silly templates, gifs, and gdocs ... i've come to accept that maybe i'm not as boring or graphically challenged as i'd originally thought. the creations of tinytown would never be possible without you cheering me on, so pat yourselves on the back and celebrate this achievement as if it's your own.
in the spirit of celebration, i'd like to take this happy moment to talk about the creators who inspire me every day with their beautiful graphics, gifs, etc. you should really check each of them out for their amazing resources & posts.
it wouldn't be appropriate of me to revel in this achievement without first thanking @fruitzys for giving me a nudge in the right direction. berry taught me tips and tricks on how to gif, what programmes i should be using, and provided general pointers that i kept very close to my heart. they are a creator i looked up to since the time i was only a lurker and never an actual tumblr user & i couldn't be prouder to call them my friend. their works inspire me, their creativity astounds me, and they always push to create ideas and resources that are out of the box. such a hard - working and thoughtful person.
perhaps an unexpected one, but i'd like to dedicate a special section to @lemondaydream in this follow forever. their docs are absolutely stunning, and if i must admit something super embarrassing ... they actually indirectly taught me how to make docs. when embarking on my adventure with google docs i had to search up tutorials and videos to really grasp what i should be doing - one of the creators i frequented was actually the lemondaydream blog. studying their asks and tips became semi - essential in my current knowledge of docs and thanks to them, i thankfully took the skill on pretty quickly. thank you, bianca. when you followed me my heart did leaps, even more so whenever i see you praise the docs i put out ... though i'm quite shy so sometimes i don't respond, ahaaa... thank you again for the support and the advice posted on your blog! if anybody is interested, here is their commission info.
finally, user @hexeddocs who i've seen on dash and in my replies! as i've mentioned before in this post, i'm quite shy so i don't always respond to what i see people saying ... but i do see it and the kind words are truly appreciated. your docs are stunning ( my god, interstellar gave me a heart attack when i saw it this morning. it's literally one of the best docs i've ever seen and i can tell how much work you put into it ). thanks for the support! if anybody would like to check their tips on doc making you can see them here & keep your eyes on this blog because commissions are open and information will be posted soon! :DD
a shoutout goes to @jeonwonwoo for the tutorial on rotating text, used in the above graphic! the tutorial can be found here and is easy to understand !
#i speak!#follow forever#200 celebration!!!!#love you guyysss..#the post with the hearts overlay was reblogged!#recommendations from the folks mentioned here are also q'd for the occasion! :DD#cw: long post#memories: happy 200!

I Love You
pairing: wolfstar (remus x sirius)
genre: fluff
warnings: none
words: 2304
note: based on a textpost by @moonyspadfoot45
a/n: yes i know disposable cameras didnât exist until the mid 80s but i wrote that part before i googled it and i donât want to change it so weâre gonna go with it
Remus sighed in the direction of the stack of boxes that looked like it was about to topple over.
âSirius?â he called, walking into the living room.
âYeah?â Sirius replied, peering at Remus around the stack of boxes from the couch where he was sitting.
âI swear to god if you and James used any of the boxes marked âfragileâ for your fortressâŠâ He left the sentence hanging as he reached up to lower the box on the top. âHow did you even manage to stack the boxes that high? Did you have to stand on a chair or something to reach up here?â
âRude,â Sirius said, coming around to Remusâ side of the fort. âIâm not that short.â
âJames had to do it, didnât he?â Remus teased, turning around.
âMoony, stop making fun of me,â Sirius pouted. âCome on, weâre going into the fort.â The âfortâ was made of boxes that contained all of Sirius and Remusâ possessions stacked to form walls with a sheet stretched over the top. And it was right in the middle of the living room of Remus and Siriusâ new apartment.
Sirius grabbed Remus by the hand and pulled him into the fort. The sheet, which was their makeshift ceiling, was hanging so low that even Sirius had to sit on the floor. They sat down and Remus looked around. Then he spotted a box labelled âkitchen wareâ and turned to Sirius.
âAre you fucking kidding me?â he said. âI was looking for that box for like an hour! I nearly called the movers to ask them to double-check that they hadnât missed any boxes!â
âI didnât know you were looking for it!â Sirius said defensively.
âI literally asked you if youâd seen the box!â Remus said, laughing and shaking his head.
âUhhh,â Sirius started, scrambling for an excuse, âIâm sorry, Remus, but you should know by now that I answer most questions wrong.â
âThat is the worst excuse Iâve ever heard,â Remus said.
âThen you obviously havenât heard any of the excuses I gave McGonagall for breaking the rules,â Sirius said.
âWhat are you talking about, I was there 90 percent of the time,â Remus said.
âYeah but when you were there you were giving the excuses.â
âYeah, my excuses were good, they got us out of detention,â Remus said.
âFeels weird knowing Iâll never have another detention,â Sirius said, lying down on the carpet he and James had brought into the fort earlier. âI keep thinking weâre gonna go back at the end of the summer.â
âYeah, I know what you mean,â Remus said, lying down next to him. âIt feels like just yesterday you were asking me to move it with you and now weâre here. In our living room. In a fucking fort.â Sirius laughed and kissed Remus lightly.
Remus remembered the day Sirius had asked him to move in. Heâd never forget it. It was their first anniversary and they were up on the astronomy tower, the same place theyâd gotten together the year before. Remus remembered how hard he was trying to put aside his anxiety about the upcoming exams just for that day. Sirius made it easier. Sirius made everything easier.
âCan I give you my present now?â Sirius asked. Remus had felt his cheeks heating, despite the fact that he was quite cold up on the tower, in the cool breeze stinging his face.
âYou didnât have to get me anything,â he muttered.
âI know,â Sirius said. âBut I wanted to. Besides, you were the one who planned out this whole day. And you're the one whoâs taking me out on the Hogsmeade weekend after exams.â Remus supposed it was true. He had planned out the day down to the last detail. He felt very cliche doing it but it was worth it to see the look on Siriusâ face. And to feel Siriusâ lips on his.
âOh alright,â Remus gave in. He was curious now. Sirius handed him a small grey box. Remus cocked his head at him but Siriusâ expression was unreadable. He opened the box and inside it was a silver key and a disposable Muggle camera. Remus picked up the key and turned it over, examining it.
âPads, what is this?â he asked finally. He was afraid he had ruined something. That this was something sentimental that he was supposed to understand.
âItâs a key,â Sirius said. Remus rolled his eyes.
âIâd figured that much out myself, funnily enough,â he said. âWhat is the key to?â
âLook at the camera.â Remus did. He picked it up and, glancing at Sirius to make sure this is what he was meant to do, looked through the photos in the camera.
âAn apartment?â Remus said, still confused.
âOur apartment,â Sirius said. He was looking at Remus, his grey eyes alight.
âWhat?â Remus said, gaping at him.
âOnly if you want it to be,â he added hurriedly. âI just thought⊠Everybody's been talking about living arrangements after school and IâI thought maybe you might like to live together. I mean, I havenât finalised anything yet so we donât have to do this if you donât want to. Or we could still pick a different place. The ownerâs of this one wonât vacate it until August so weâd have to figure something out for the first month and a bit after we graduate but Iâm sure the Potters wonât mind if we stay there for a little while. And Lily and James might want to be alone in the beginning but I doubt theyâd kick us out if we showed up but⊠do you hate it?â He had barely breathed in between words until now. He looked up at Remus nervously, biting his nail.
âAre you kidding me? I love it,â Remus said. âSirius, this is⊠this is incredible. Youâre incredible. Iââ Remus hesitated. He knew what he wanted to say. But he couldnât form the words. âI canât believe you did this.â
âSo youâre saying youâll do it?â Sirius asked. âYouâll move in with me?â
âYeah,â Remus said. âYes, of course I will.â Sirius beamed at him. But then something occurred to Remus. âSirius, you havenât paid anything yet, have you? If you have Iâll pay you back, Iââ
âShh, donât worry about that now,â Sirius said. âWeâll figure out all the technical details later.â Remus bit his lip.
âOkay,â he said. He could put it out of his mind for that night.
âHappy anniversary, Moony,â he said. And then he kissed Remus, there on top of the astronomy tower and Remus felt just as much excitement then as he had when Sirius had kissed him there for the first time, exactly one year previously.
And here they were now. In their apartment. They ended up deciding on the one Sirius had originally chosen, the one that heâd shown Remus photos of that evening. The owners had ended up vacating a bit earlier than they had said because there was still a week until August. Sirius had stayed at the Potterâs for the first few weeks and Remus had gone back home. But as they were spending every waking moment at Lily and Jamesâ house anyway, they suggested that Remus and Sirius just stay with them. They had invited Peter to stay with them too, just while Sirius and Remus were there but heâd turned down the offer (âAfter seven years of sleeping in the same room with three other blokes, I think Iâll be good on my own for a while,â he had said). He still came over every day and stayed until around midnight but he always preferred to sleep at home. He said heâd never get used to it if he stayed at Lily and Jamesâ.
James, Peter and Lily helped them move in too. Theyâd been with them to Ikea a few days previously to buy furniture. And they had come over today to help start unpacking things. Well, Lily and Peter helped unpack. James was more interested in building a fort out of the boxes with Sirius.
Remus remembered worrying that he might spend less time with his friends after school since theyâd no longer be living in the same big castle but so far the amount of time he spent with Lily, James and Peter had not decreased even a little.
But Lily and James had gone home now and Peter had gone back to his studio flat; Remus and Sirius were alone, together in their new apartment.
âAre you hungry?â Sirius asked, snapping Remus back into reality. âI could make you dinner.â
âYouâre going to make dinner?â Remus snorted. âIâm sorry but have you ever made food in your entire life?â
âI have actually,â Sirius said. âMrs Potter taught me how to make food when I lived there. Iâm not as good at it as James is but I can make something edible without burning down the kitchen. Although I nearly did that the first time I tried to make food.â
âWell, thatâs very convincing,â Remus said sarcastically. Sirius elbowed him in the ribs. âIâm kidding!â he said. âIâll be on standby with the fire extinguisher.â
âWhatâs that?â Sirius asked.
âKind of in the name, babe,â Remus said and then he crawled quickly out of the fort before Sirius figured it out and elbowed him again.
But Remus was pleasantly surprised because not only did Sirius manage to not light the whole house on fire, but he even produced some pretty good food.
âYou know, this is quite nice,â Remus said, taking another bite. âMrs Potter must be a really good teacher if she managed to get you to this level of cooking.â
âWhy canât you just have a little bit more faith in my talents, Moony?â Sirius said. âBut yeah, sheâs a great teacher. James, on the other hand, is a terrible teacher. Itâs not that he canât cook because he can. He just canât teach other people to cook. But donât tell him I said that.â Remus snorts.
âAs if you havenât already told him that to his face.â
âYou know me too well,â Sirius sighs.
After dinner, Sirius goes to shower and Remus continues unpacking boxes. The more boxes he unpacks, the more he realises how much crap theyâre missing. But heâs not too worried about it. Theyâll go to the store tomorrow and find whatever it is that theyâre missing. Itâs nothing essential. The only essential thing to Remus in this house is Sirius. As long as Sirius is here, Remus would be fine.
Remus opens another box with a utility knife. He looks inside and his jaw drops.
âRem?â Sirius asks, coming into the room, his hair still wet from the shower. âIs everything okay?â
âYeah, yeah,â Remus says. âLook at this.â He takes out the contents of the box and sets them on the table. Itâs photos. Loads of photos of them from school.
âWow,â Sirius says, looking through the photos. âOh my god.â He holds one of the photos out to Remus laughing. Remus looks at the photo and starts laughing too. Itâs him sitting next to a dog, a stag and a rat. His friends in their animagus forms and him in the middle, smiling awkwardly as Lily takes a photo.
They spent a little longer looking through the photos, laughing at how much they had changed since the first day theyâd met each other in first year. They all looked so little. And now⊠well, now theyâre grown up. Remus didnât feel like it though.
He returned the photos to the box, deciding heâd find a place for them tomorrow. He was reaching another box when Sirius took his hand.
âCome to bed, darling,â he said. âItâs nearly midnight and youâre still unpacking boxes.â
âYeah, okay,â Remus said. He smiled and laced his fingers with Siriusâ.
He showered and put on a massive sweater (despite it being midsummer) and clambered into their new bed, where Sirius was already waiting for him. Sirius pulled him in and kissed his forehead before resting his head against Remusâ chest.
As they cuddle in their brand new bed, in their brand new apartment, Remus is overcome by the urge to tell Sirius, to just say it. To say what he wanted to say months ago on their anniversary but had been too afraid. He doesnât even care if Sirius says it back. He just wants to say the words. He wants Sirius to know. Sirius deserves to know.
He lifts Siriusâ chin with his hand so their eyes meet as he brushes his thumb against Siriusâ cheek.
âI love you,â he says.
âIâ Iââ Sirius stutters.
âAnd you donât have to say it back or anything,â Remus assures him. âI just wanted you to know.â Tears spill from Siriusâ eyes.
âYouâre crying?â Remus said, sounding concerned. âWhatâs wrong?â he asks softly.
âNo, nothing wrong, I justââ Sirius hesitates, sniffing. âThatâs the first time anyoneâs told me that,â he admits.
âThatâs a shame,â Remus says, pressing a kiss to his temple. âIâll always remind you how much I love you. I love you so much, Sirius.â He pulls Sirius into a tight hug. âYou deserve so much love.â Sirius kisses him softly. Itâs a quiet, gentle kiss, tears still flowing freely down Siriusâ face.
âI love you too,â Sirius whispers.
âYou donât have to say it just because I did,â Remus says.
âIâm not,â Sirius said. âI really do love you.â Remus smiles as he feels the blush blooming on his cheeks. And suddenly he canât remember what was holding him back in the first place. He feels like an idiot for waiting so long to say this. He loves Sirius. He loves Sirius with all of his heart and heâs going to make sure Sirius knows it.

When you kiss me heaven sighs
As might have been noticed, I have been listening to this version of La vie en Rose for days. On loop.
So naturally Geralt has to propose. That is how it works. Also donât look too closely at the french, because I literally google translated it, copy paste and done. shhhh donât tell :)
Please enjoy a sappy panda mood again <3 On Ao3 here
Out of the two of them, Jaskier is the musician. Rather obviously so, as they actually met the first time on a street corner where Jaskier was singing his heart out and Geralt was unable to tear his eyes away. That first time, it was a guitar, the next a flute, lute, and a loop pedal.Â
His eyes were twinkling, his smile warm and inviting, and Geralt was completely smitten. Is completely smitten.
Years later, after a tentative friendship filled with pining and then finally that first, desperate kiss, Geralt is still smitten. If possible, more so than all those years ago.
They live together now in a sunny flat on the third floor. Their upstairs neighbours are loud with children running and parents screaming and the street below is always filled with honking cars and road work. They talk of moving somewhere bigger. Somewhere possibly theirs.
And all the while, Geralt carries a secret. Because, after talking to his brothers about it, he realizes Jaskier is all he wants in life, always and forever. The secret is a little black velvet box. A box his adoptive father and brothers too carried until they were ready, and now rests with a new charge.Â
As they look for a new home, hoping to find an apartment on the top floor, or possibly a house, Geralt takes time hiding away, preparing. As they pack away their belongings, plan and make bids, Geralt asks for his darling Ciriâs advice.
On the eve they have moved into their small house, their very own little corner of the world, Geralt canât wait anymore. They're sitting on the floor, leaning against cardboard boxes and eating pizza, when Geralt caves.
There is one box he has kept an extra eye on, the one with the ukulele. He digs it out while Jaskier watches him curiously, a bit of cheese clinging to his chin. Sitting down, he strums it, tries out a few chords. He doesnât look at Jaskier as he does this, but he senses the growing surprise.
His heart is in his throat when Jaskier draws a breath as the strumming turns into a song.
âGeralt,â he whispers, putting the pizza down, finally wiping his chin, and Geralt smiles.
âQuand il me prend dans ses bras Il me parle tout bas Je vois la vie en rose Il me dit des mots d'amour Des mots de tous les jours Et ça me fait quelque choseâ
Jaskier blushes so prettily. His lips are parted, eyes filled with something warm and gentle, and his hands are clenching his dirty sweatpants. He is beautiful, and Geraltâs heart skips a beat.
"Il est entrĂ© dans mon cĆur Une part de bonheur Dont je connais la cause C'est lui pour moi, moi pour lui dans la vie Il me l'a dit, l'a jurĂ© pour la vie"
Geralt sings, finally meeting Jaskierâs eyes. His fingers feel clumsy, the strings vibrating under his grip, and he licks his lips before the next part.
Hold me close and hold me fast The magic spell you cast This is "La vie en rose" When you kiss me, heaven sighs And though I close my eyes I see "La vie en roseâ
When you press me to your heart I'm in a world apart A world where roses bloom And when you speak, angels sing from above Everyday words seem to turn into love songs"
This is it. There is a storm of emotions, an onslaught from all sides. Hope, longing, comfort, worry, and so, so much love.Â
"Give your heart and soul to me And life will always be "La vie en rose"
The last note of the ukulele rings out, and for a moment, there is silence. Geralt puts the instrument on top of a box, heart beating like a sledgehammer.
âThat was beautiful,â Jaskier whispers. He curls up against his shoulder when Geralt sits down next to him again. âI didnât know you played the ukulele.â
âI donât,â Geralt admits and tucks his arms around Jaskier. âI only know this one.âÂ
âCould have fooled me,â Jaskier says, propping up his chin on Geraltâs shoulder.Â
âFake it tilâ you make it,â Geralt replies, smirking, quoting Jaskier right back at him.
âFaking French too?â Jaskier asks teasingly, leaning in for a kiss.
âHmm.â Geralt canât help but get distracted, lost in warm lips on his. He didnât plan it this way, he swears he didnât. But he has to say it somehow, right?
â Je t'aime ,â he mumbles against Jaskierâs lips, knowing full well that he will understand it. âVeux-tu m'Ă©pouser?â
And Jaskier freezes.
âYou-â
Jaskier pulls back, studying his face. Geralt gropes around in his pocket, realizing the ring isnât there.
âWait. Shit. Fuck.â He stands up, running to his jacket. He digs around desperately in the hallway. Jaskier sits quietly on the kitchen floor. He is never quiet.
âGeralt,â he calls after a few minutes, and Geralt panics. âItâs here.â
Fuck. This is not going as planned at all.
Geralt returns, sweaty and nervous. He stands in the doorway watching Jaskier hold the black satin box in his hands. It must have fallen out of his pocket, but at least it wasnât in the moving truck.
Jaskier looks up at him, eyes misty.
âIs this the same box Lambert used?â
âAnd Eskel. And Vesemir,â Geralt confirms. He approaches Jaskier, his little bard, his light, his everything, and kneels in front of him, taking Jaskier's hands in his.
âYou are the love of my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?â Geralt repeats, now in English, his voice a little hoarse and cracked. He opens the box and reveals a silver ring
The tears finally overflow, Jaskier pushing the little box away and sniffling. For a heartbeat, just one heartbeat, Geralt fears rejection. But in the next, Jaskier has flung himself around his neck, pretty much crawled up in his lap, hugging him as tight as he can.
âYou romantic sap, never accuse me of being soft again,â he sobs.
âYou are soft,â Geralt murmurs, his arms coming up to hold him. âIs that a yes?â
Again Jaskier leans back, his eyes are red rimmed and well. Soft.
âI am yours, Geralt Rivia. I have been from the moment I saw you and will be until I draw my last breath. You will never get rid of me.â
âSo yes,â Geralt says, smile growing, heart so light he could fly.
âYes, you fucking imbecile, yes, I will marry you!â
There is more kissing after that, and some more crying. The pizza lies forgotten on the floor as Geralt puts the ring on Jaskierâs finger. He knows the size perfectly, he has bought many rings for his Jaskier, but this is the one that counts.
At their wedding they have the band play their song. Jaskier insists that Geralt did it better, but they had a trumpet, and that is hard to beat. They dance cheek to cheek, so close Geralt can feel the heat of Jaskierâs skin and smell the champagne on his breath.
âWhen you kiss me, heaven sighs, And though I close my eyes, I see "La vie en roseâÂ

Hi is it ok if I request y/n x kuroo & she/her & âïž & pink please?
smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover gon' pop like trouble breaking into your heart like that
â hey google: how do you tell if a guy is flirting with you?
â GENRE:Â fluff
â WARNINGS:Â aged up characters, bookshop au
â WORD COUNT: 1.9k
âIâd like to take you to the movies, but they donât let you bring in your own snacks.â
Closing your work locker, you raise an eyebrow at the familiar six foot, raven haired guy, who smirks down at you as if he just won first prize. In cringe worthy pick up lines? Yeah he can take that medal.
âAre you calling me a snack?â You ask, adjusting the strap of your bag.
âWill you go out with me if I say yes?â Kuroo asks again, wagging his eyebrows at you teasingly, and you immediately know heâs messing with you.
âNot a chance.â Offering him a scathing glare, you spin on your heels and slip out the front door of the shop. When youâd first gotten the job at the small bookshop near your house, you'd have been ecstatic. Although youâd been less ecstatic about your new colleague who youâd never met before in your life, but had been slipping you cheesy and corny pick up lines every day for months.
You didnât even know that there were that many ways to flirt with someone, but alas, Kuroo proved you wrong every shift. At first, youâd been a flustered bumbling mess trying to come up with a response, but as you caught on to how his hazel eyes glinted with untamed mischief, youâd decided that Kuroo wasnât your favourite person.
That wasnât to say that you by any means hated the guy, there was no way you could when he was literally one of the nicest people youâd ever come across in your life. He held doors open for you, and would volunteer to carry the new boxes of stock out back because they were heavy - although you had an inkling that was partly to show off. In the end, Kuroo is sweet, kind, and hilarious. But he thinks that hitting on you every day, and asking you out as a joke is also hilarious.
And itâs hilariously pissing you off.
Because somewhere down along the way, between the angel references and calling you a âcute-cumberâ youâd found yourself smiling at the lines. You found yourself anticipating getting to work shifts with him, just to see him and for the chance to witness the familiar rogue smile and the pure giddiness that emits from his very being.
But to him, it was a joke. And that left more than a bad taste in your mouth.
Adjusting your bag once more, you try to slide the store door closed behind you to keep the aircon inside - a stark contrast to the summer heat bearing down on you. Before it can close completely, a hand rolls the glass door to a stop and you find yourself once again looking up into hazel eyes.
âNot finished?â You snipe back, having reached your quota of fake flirting for the day. Kuroo doesnât flinch at your tone, or maybe he just chooses not to notice judging by the smile that graces his face. Maybe, just maybe you could eventually get over him. Itâs not going to go anywhere, if it was going to, he wouldnât have waited literal months to make a move. So maybe, you can let him go.
âOh I have plenty more for you princess, but I just thought you might want this first.â In his hand is a copy of the book youâd been reading behind the counter of your shifts. Blinking twice, you realise itâs got similar dog eared pages and a crinkled spine from continuous use - that's your book. Instinctively you peer into your bag on your shoulder, and alas, it's empty. With an empty mind, you take the item from Kurooâs outstretched hand, and offer him a quick thanks as you try to swallow the emotion in your throat.
âYouâre most welcome. Walk home safe, I'll see you tomorrow princess.â Kuroo responds with a rogue wink that has you flushing from head to toe. His knowing grin proves that was the response he was looking for, so you quickly shove the book in your back and practically run from your work - swearing that you can feel his gaze on you the whole way home.
Yeah, thereâs no chance youâre going to get over him.
This is cemented on your next night shift. You stand behind the counter, your eyes glancing up from the book youâre reading to the group of teenage girls giggling amongst the young adult isle. Really, it should be an actual law for people to be as quiet in bookstores as they are in libraries.
The door opens once more, and you begin to groan internally at the thought of even more rowdy teenagers coming in, but instead Kuroo slinks through the door in all his six foot two glory. Dressed in his work shirt, some black jeans and his usual sneakers, he looks good and the bastard knows it from the raised eyebrows he shoots you when he catches you looking. You donât reply, but instead turn back to your book, ignoring him and the gaggling teenagers who suddenly shut up as he walks past them to go to the back room. You canât blame them as their eyes stay glued to his every movement. Kuroo walks like he was meant to carry the world on his shoulders, but instead spins it like a basketball on one finger. As if the most difficult things for him are effortless. Like a god amongst men. Okay, let's not go that far. If he ever heard that, his ego would asphyxiate everyone from here to the south pole.
âDo you like my shirt?â Kurooâs question has you turning around before you can stop yourself, but youâre all levels of confused as he holds the hem of his shirt in pinched fingers away from his body. His shirt? Itâs his work shirtâŠ
âUh itâs your work shirtâŠâ You manage to mumble out, brows still furrowed, completely baffled.
âYeah but its made of a different material.â He points out, moving closer to you, only looking up from his shirt and to you when heâs standing only a few feet away. âBoyfriend material.â His grin is actually blinding, so youâre not sure if youâre squinting from that, or from the way you scrunch up your nose in distaste at his line.
âI hate you.â You grumble, turning away and looking down at your book once more, letting your hair fall over your cheeks to hide the flush splashed brightly across them.
âHate me? Why must you hurt me so princess?â Kuroo jokes, and you find yourself getting more and more disappointed as he grows quiet and begins to start on his own work for the shift. Itâs not until you both notice the gaggling girls practically drooling on the floor at him that you decide you need to take your break.
Closing your book loud enough to startle the group of girls and the guy flicking aimlessly through a volleyball magazine at your side. âIâm going for my ten.â You offer in explanation as you try to move out back. You donât get to even make it past the counter before there's a warm hand wrapping around your own. Kurooâs hand completely engulfs yours in the best ways and you canât help but gape at it as it pulls your walk to a stop.
âAre you alright?â He asks, drawing your eyes reluctantly from your entwined hands to his face, and once you spot genuine concern there, you hesitate with your response. How do you say that no, youâre not okay because would you be if the person that you liked jokingly asked you out on a daily basis for months on repeat? But never meant it?
âYeah, I'm fine.â Kuroo doesnât let go just yet, but instead scratches the back of his neck with his other hand nervously.
âYou know, if I'm honestly bothering you, please tell me. I donât ever want to make you uncomfortable y/n,â He offers, shame and hurt flashing brightly in his eyes - and it shocks you stupid for a few seconds. It takes you an added moment that heâs talking about his teasing. Wait, he thinks heâs bothering me? Is he?
âKuroo, if it was bothering me I would have told you alright?â You say softly, your gaze drifting back to your hand. âI mean sure sometimes it can be a bit much but that's mainly because I'm an idiot.â Not expecting those words, Kurooâs nerves bleed into a confused frown that has you wanting to reach up and thumb away the line between his pinched brows.
âAn idiot? Princess, if what I'm saying is bothering you-â
âItâs not what youâre saying thatâs bothering me, itâs the joking.â The second the words leave your mouth, you wish you could reach out, grab them, and shove them back down your throat, because the way Kuroo drops your hand as if it burnt him hurts more than you thought it would.
âJoking?â His tone is utterly perplexed, and this time, youâre the one looking back at him with confusion. A loud laugh barks from his chest and you immediately feel embarrassed for absolutely nothing. Kuroo is laughing so hard and obnoxiously that tears actually crest the corner of his eyes, and at this rate youâre ready to just walk out the door if it means you donât have to deal with this embarrassment for another second.
âYou mean to tell me, that all this time you thought I was joking?â Kuroo gets out between laughs, and you feel your stomach drop at his words. What does he mean did you think he was joking? Was he not?
Your silence is answer enough because he runs a hand through his thick dark hair and leans back on the counter behind him.
âJesus Christ Y/n!â
âYou would laugh at me after you said them!â You defend, pointing an accusing finger in his way. How could you not think he was joking when heâd laugh at you, his whole being the very embodiment of mischief when he would say his lines.
âBecause your face would go red and youâd tell me I was an idiot under your breath, because it was cute!â Kuroo rebuts right back, trying once more not to laugh, and you canât help but groan. You cannot believe that this entire time, he was actually trying to ask you out on a date. Well, you canât fault his perseverance and tenacity.
âKuroo,â you grumble, bridging your fingers and pressing them to your forehead in thought, just trying to calm your raging heart at the fact that this is happening.
âY/n,â he grins right back, and you can feel him closing in on your position before you can even see him. But once you open your eyes again, letting your hands fall from your face, Kurooâs stunning features are right up close and more beautiful than youâd thought.
âDoes this mean that youâll go out with me when I ask this time?â You really do try for your pride's sake to not flush at his words, but heat still crawls up your neck and Kurooâs growing smile tells you that your mental attempt to stop it isnât working.
âYes, I will.â You say, letting the smile tug at the corners of your mouth.
âGood, I'll remember that for my new line tomorrow.â

Boxer Levi & Coach Reader
author note :: i lost the ask for this, but this is not good at all. quite literally the worst thing i have ever written /srs anyways,,,,, anon said they wanted me to post it no matter what so i hope you do enjoy whatever this is,,, the pacing is non-existent and it has not been edited đđŒ
requests are always open :-) i promise i am usually better than this,, anyway i may just use this as a rough outline for a fic đ€
word count :: 5.4k....... yeah......
you and levi become acquainted with each other in university. itâs all very cliche if you do say so yourself. he steps in playing the role of good samaritan heroically saving your wallet and wordlessly he hands it to you even after running for the thief. the man doesnât do as much as pant in exhaustion.
his stamina isâŠnever mind that, his reflexes are out of this world
he expects a thank you because anyone else would expect at least a token of gratitude shown via words but the sentence you want to ask only ends up trapping itself in your throat
it comes to the point where he nods understanding maybe you have a sore throat or just donât want to thank him at all
eyes flicking to his hands you immediately lunge forward taking your chance.
almost immediately you feel regret for holding onto the wrist of a complete and utter stranger without permission
âyour stamina itâs great!â the man turns to you, he isnât smiling but heâs definitely intrigued by the sudden change in behavior
and thatâs where it all begins
leviâs horrible at getting to know strangers, even worse at forming bonds and connections. maybe thatâs why he doesnât warm up to the idea of having to deal with new people and new settings all at once
âi hope youâve met your coach this is aman-â introductions are cut short by levi stubbornly interjecting in the middle of your sentenceÂ
âi have, but is she you?â
pursing your lips an awkward chuckle leaves your mouth, you look around uncomfortably wondering what he means.
âwell, no?â
âthen i wonât box.â
?????
you donât even know what to say??? here you were thinking maybe he would be a little more cooperative than this.
his index finger points right at you and he takes a step forwards. his shoes come into contact with yours and you find yourself holding your breath apprehensively.
âi wonât box unless itâs you in charge.â
that is when you and levi formally meet for the first time. you are but an inexperienced coach and he, an inexperienced boxer.
âiâm getting drinks you want anything?â
âoh no donât worry iâm good!!â you smile at levi and he nods his head venturing off to buy himself a bottle of sparkling water
levi has had you coaching him for a few years now
really he doesnât think heâs ever felt more than respect for you. respect for the way you stay back late with him to train, respect for the schedules you make him and heâs most definitely respectful of your boxing knowledge
sure out of the two of you heâs more physically capable but it doesnât change the fact that he becomes frustrated when heâs told he has to spend a day without you.
itâs not like you think that levi cares or anything, nothing sappy like that.
he just probably hates, no, despises having to listen to anyone elseâs instructions. he finds that they somehow sound demeaning or less sincere.
every instruction you give him has a reason behind it. you donât beat around the bush and heâs stated before that he enjoys that he knows heâs developing his skill set and progressing when heâs with you.
the olympus ring - one of the largest boxing competitions known to man is approaching soon and if levi manages to place in the top two his career is set to sky rocket in no time at all
that thought makes you feel unusually nervous
worry gnaws at your mind and you wonder about whether or not heâll replace you after the competition concludes. after all who wants a coach with little fighting experience? all you really know is from your family. your brother and father had been professional boxers years prior.
you have no doubt at all that levi will place number one thatâs for sure but you really hope he doesnât find a replacement for you.
youâve never had much faith in your coaching and to be left behind in the dust hurts you a tiny bit but you never bring it up because you know what? levi progressing in his career will make him happy :-)
leviâs happiness over yours and itâs not good to be selfish you suppose >:(
ây/n.â heâs waving a hand in front of your face, youâre uncharacteristically quiet today and heâs caught on
âyou awake?â he asks again.
upon receiving no response leviâs now waving his hand with more tenacity
âwake. up.â he flicks at your forehead and you stir a little finally coming to your senses once you see him leaning up above you.
he looks taller than normal from this angle and your cheeks blaze, he has a habit of walking around shirtless whilst training and doesnât realise the effect it has on you
âi- yeah good totally good. just thinking.â
âthinking about?â levi kneels to the floor looking you in the eyes and your mind falters wondering when it was he began to sit so close to you. it feels like it was just yesterday when the two of you used to eat lunch separately out of embarrassment.
the silence stretches for a second too long and his eyes narrow suspiciously leaving you to think on your feet
âi well, you have a press conference soon and i have to think of transportation and-â
âcoach. i can deal with that.â
youâre a little stunned when he says that because heâs never tried to take away from your responsibilities in the past. is this a hint that he no longer wants you around?
âbut itâs my job?â you reply back feeling threatened
âbut youâre always doing it. i can figure it out this once.â
without even hearing the rest of what you have to say he stalks back towards his punching bag leaving your chest empty
heâs definitely thinking of replacing you is what you think
really this should not be getting you worked up.
youâve known levi for years, you should have faith in the fact he trusts you but you find yourself indulging in self doubt more often than you intend to
guilt fills you as you scroll through the multiple job listings in front of you but you have a justification. this is your lifeline, you canât afford to lose your source of income and itâs best to be prepared
however thereâs no real amount of preparation that can get you used to the prospect of not seeing levi every day
heâs sort of just made a space for himself in your daily routine
chewing at your bottom lip you canât get through one job listing without thinking about him and you shut your laptop down thinking tomorrow will be a better day and youâll check back in then
why does levi even matter?? heâll officially be an ass when he dumps you of your position?? who cares about him???
but that doesnât stop you from caring and now youâre hunched over your closed laptop trying to understand what it is thatâs making you feel this way
maybe itâs the whole attachment you have with him??
he is the very first person youâve ever coached thatâs true
heâs made you proud and allowed for your name to get out there in the boxing world
maybe thatâs whatâs holding you back from looking into other jobs
but that reason doesnât make much sense
you should still be frustrated with him.
AND
you most definitely should not care about how heâs doing OR worry about whoâll patch him up when he ends up stupidly injuring himself during practice (he does that a lot)
âwhy do i care so much for him?â you type into google thinking thereâs no person on this earth that can help you with this predicament now
honestly at this point asking AI is probably going to have to be your only reliable option
tapping on one of the first links you hope to find your answer
âwhat happened? yeah, you had sex?â pops onto your screen and you tap off as quick as possible.
no. you did not have sex. oh god, you havenât even touched levi much. the most youâve done is lace your fingers with his and offer him a hug
are you meant to have⊠had sex???
is it wrong for you to feel that way withou-
okay enough. this has got nothing to do with sex and your feelings are still valid. maybe you are right and youâre attached to him thatâs it!!! right?
scrolling further down you nearly give up until you reach another link titled âthe science of caring for those who donât care for you.â
rolling your eyes you still hesitantly tap praying you find some sort of answer
and an answer is what you find thatâs for sure
staring you right in the face in bold letters
1. you feel responsible for that person
not really, heâs very independent.
2. the person is a family member
absolutely not
3. you could be romantically attracted to the person in question
âŠâŠ.
romantically interested?? no. thatâs wrong. not true. incorrect. not right. just not real. you are not romantically attracted to levi
,,,or are you?
that does explain why he makes you feel jittery, it explains why you shivered the one time he engulfed you in a hug at his first championship
it also explains why you feel burning jealousy when a celebrity shoves their number into your hands asking you to pass it onto levi. they donât even look at you like youâre a human being. youâre just a messenger pigeon
theyâre worlds away from you. you forever stuck in your tracksuit and them - those beautiful models in skintight dresses and heels to match are stuck in a world where everything they want is handed to them. that includes men
you know itâs not their fault and youâd kill to be like them too but you guess the whole sweaty tracksuits and boxing daily has just become your niche
nonetheless levi is a man. a popular man.
and he sure as hell has no romantic interest in his clumsy, uncoordinated coach
sighing you huddle yourself into a ball choosing not to think about it anymore
but you know youâve already come to your conclusion
you like levi ackerman more than a coach should
and itâs taken you years to take notice of it
when you became a coach you never really thought people would talk about you much
you were clearly very wrong about that. you and levi are both hot topics on discussion forums and boxing panels. luckily for you levi finds no entertainment in such forms of boxing and so never glances at them
heâs completely unaware of all the online comments. to be honest youâre happy heâs oblivious to it all. he doesnât deserve to deal with spiteful, mean spirited jabs
youâre less like levi and find yourself aimlessly scrolling through news articles and boxing q&a pages. itâs interesting to see what people have to say on social media
but these days all the searches for your name are filled with âreplaced soon?â and ânot good enough to coach ackerman?â
the headlines are cruel jokes but again youâre willing to handle taking the brunt of the pressâ force instead of levi. yes, even if it hurts you.
âwhat you reading?â levi peers over your shoulder and you nearly throw your phone away to the other side of the room but instead you choose to grip at it tightly and shove it into your chest
you grin hiding the screen away. âsomething private.â
levi doesnât look like he believes you, he wants to ask if youâre okay and if you need anything because frankly you do look slightly distraught but he decides against interrogating you
âoh okay. iâll be back. you want anything from starbucks?â he asks.
at that moment you wish he asked you if you wanted to talk about what had been bothering you
but you know even if he did ask youâd deny his help
the olympus ringâs official press conference is one in which many rivalries will be established
levi has always had an issue with zeke jaeger one of the top contenders in his division.
itâs a long story......
one which includes the purposeful injury of a mutual friend in order to sabotage his career
you remember it all, the way you had to physically hold levi back from pouncing at the man. it had been one of the most difficult things you had to do
erwin was your friend too and you wanted him to receive justice. part of you wanted to let go and allow for levi to attack zeke with his all but you chose to be leviâs coach before you were erwinâs friends
if he wasnât going to make good decisions for himself you would do it for him
if you had let him go through with that rash choice he could have risked suspension and suspension could completely halt some careers. suspension almost always led to shorter longevity and motivation
and so thatâs why you always shift to leviâs side when he walks past zeke. thereâs no way youâre taking a chance. knowing levi he could lose his cool and completely pummel him with an upper cut
so thatâs what youâre doing right now. trying to edge levi to the other side of the hall but he does no such thing.
âcoach, do you have to be so cautious with zeke?â he finally asks with a bland look on his face
you wince a little when he doesnât use your name and it looks like he notices the reaction. he makes no commentary on it
âthis is my job. let me do it properly.â you explain nudging him to the side so your path doesnât coincide with zekeâs
levi looks at you poking a tongue in his cheek clearly not amused nor happy
âiâll do what i want.â and with that said and done he walks on ahead. you take note of the fact that despite saying heâll do what he wants he does in fact comply with your instructions and walks in the opposite direction and into a nearby convenience store
sighing you rummage through your backpack trying to find your meds
your head has been pounding since youâve arrived and you hope to fit in at least one nap
looking up to survey the area the street is clear and there is no sight of zeke. you feel at ease at that discovery, not only does he cause you discomfort but heâs a general displeasure to interact with
his tuft of dirty blonde hair irks you to no end and youâre up for no conversation with the man who who ended erwinâs career
heâs the last person you want to ever initiate small talk with.
but fate is a weird thing is it not? because as soon as youâre sure youâve escaped the clutches of zeke jaeger you hear a chuckle behind you
âwell if it isnât leviâs side piece?â
a hand lands on your shoulder but you shake it away immediately
jaw clenching you try to ignore zeke as best you can but he continues to taunt you
âimagine if levi got an actual coach and not a whore to fuck in the gym?â
turning to face him you see him midway through shrugging his shoulders
believe it or not there had been a time where you and zeke were good friends. a time where he hadnât let fame get to his head.
so for him to refer to you like that does make your heart sting a little
âcat got your tong-â
and there it is
the long overdue punch
it hits him right in the jaw without warning and youâre tripping trying to stop levi - who might you add has shown up from NOWHERE.
you thought he was shopping?????
âyou know if i needed to swing at him i could have?!?â you whisper shout at him completely infuriated that heâs possibly thrown away his chance of competing
âyou werenât going to though.â he says plainly and you canât deny it.
you donât have it in you to swing at zeke.
levi doesnât choose to inflict more pain on his opponent and instead kneels beside him leaning by his ear
you donât know what he whispers - youâre completely out of ear shot but itâs not even thirty seconds later till levi rises and saunters away seeming content
shooting zeke an apologetic look for the over the top beating youâre surprised to see him look...regretful?
whatever levi said you wonder what it was
itâs been a solid fifteen minutes of you walking behind levi
his back is all youâve seen so you have no idea about his mood and itâs not that youâre intimidated or anything but peering in just to look at his face is a little odd so you choose to stay a suitable distance away
ây/n.â he says finally when he reaches his hotel room.
fishing through your backpack for his keys youâre surprised when he holds your wrist to stop you
âlisten to me.â he sounds calm but slightly on edge
âhas zeke always said those things?â
twiddling your thumbs you awkwardly laugh
âwell no, we used to be friends. remember how i told you ages ago? he was so cool back then and yeah i miss that zeke :-) but i donât know whatâs up with him.â
youâve never really told anyone about how you feel about zekeâs hostility so youâre getting KINDA emotional right now thinking about the friend you miss
âi mean to ask, since you started coaching me has he always said that?â
âit was a bit before that but yeah. itâs no big deal at all. people change, zeke changed. i canât do anything about it.â
moving to find his room keys again you donât expect for him to hold his grasp
looking up at him thereâs a look of simmering anger on his face
âwhy did you never tell me he said that about you?â
running a hand through your hair youâre only getting anxious having to deal with this in the middle of a hotel hallway
âlevi. everyone says that about me. me and you are always together, all sorts of stupid rumours spread.â
âso why do you have to deal with all the malicious comments?? itâs unfa-â
âlevi, the world has never been fair.â
handing him his keys he looks between you and them. heâs deciding if he wants to continue with his questioning
ultimately he decides heâs heard enough
a few hours have passed since the incident. neither you or levi have had the courage to come out of your separate rooms to discuss anything
you know youâre going to have to break the quiet and go through his possible press conference questions with him. even if you donât want to this is your job after all.
so thatâs how you end up sitting cross legged on his bed in your pyjamas. leviâs still in the shower so youâve welcomed your self in. itâs common practice between the two of you to do so
after the one time he walked in on you nakedâŠthereâs practically nothing to hide from each other
scribbling a few ideas down onto your notepad youâre curious of what the press have in store for him this time
âyes exactly my thoughtsâ the sound of leviâs voice is coming from the bathroom, you suppose heâs had to take a business call and think nothing of it
ây/n?â he scoffs and you assume at first heâs calling out for you but then things take a turn for the worst
âsometimes i think about not having y/n coach me thatâs all⊠thereâs nothing wrong with that?â
oh.
so your suspicions were correct.
glancing down at the interview questions in your lap you jot down a note at the bottom
hey couldnât stay for long but try to review the press conference questions on your own if you have the time! :-) much lov good luck, y/n !!!!
and then you retreat.
you donât know if you make it up but you swear you hear knocking at your door during the night. you arenât too sure but whatever it is disturbs your sleep.
stretching outside of your room the next morning youâre drowsy and beyond exhausted. you donât even notice levi come outside.
one of his knuckles is rubbing at his bloodshot eyes. has he not slept well?
âi tried to wake you up but i guess you were asleep?â his statement comes out as a question. youâre not used to levi exhibiting much emotion at all and right now he seems unusually inquisitive.
âi was sleeping.â not even sparing him a second of your time you give him a rehearsed smile and walk off towards the hotel cafe
you canât find the energy to even look at him
the hall is lined up with barricades to prevent possible assault or injury and youâre behind the stage with levi
the two of you have yet to say another word to each other since this morning. leviâs buttoning his shirt up and youâre looking around for his necktie. the least he can do after yesterdayâs confrontation with zeke is to look presentable
âtie?â he asks over his shoulder
throwing it at him you hear a grunt of annoyance. he must have disliked that.
âcan you help me with my cuff links?â
breathing out of your nose you feel anxious. youâll have to get really close to him to do that.
but again you have to.
you take them from his hands and stand in front of him. you donât really know how to go about this, what way is there for you to appropriately position yourself?
heâs sat on a backstage bench and checks the time on his phone âweâve only got a few minutes left.â heâs clearly requesting that you hurry this up but you canât seem to do it youâre completely frozen in place
ây/n, whatâs wrong?â he asks
ânothing.â
he doesnât have to know you know
âsomethingâs wrong.â
âweâre in a hurry it doesnât matter.â yanking him by his right sleeve you slot one of the cuff links through the slits in his shirt.
levi silently observes you fiddling with his sleeves, you can feel his stare burn into you. even as youâre moving onto the opposite side you can see from the corner of your eye that he hasnât stopped staring
âwas it something i said to you?â he asks again
a silence drags between the both of you and you debate on whether or not youâd like to enlighten levi with the information you obtained yesterday night
âmore like something you didnât say.â you finally respond.
thrusting his arm back at him his hand lands onto his lap and he opens his mouth to respond only to be cut off by an announcer
âTHIS YEARS OLYMPUS RING CONTESTANTS MAY ENTER.â
crowds can be heard cheering outside but levi still hasnât ripped his eyes off of you
âgo on, maybe youâll find a new coach after the press conference.â your bitter smile tells him all he has to know and his face visibly drops realizing what has happened
âiââ
âmr ackerman to the stage. i repeat mr ackerman to the stage!!â
heâs torn between staying behind and explaining himself or leaving to head towards one of the most important press conferences of his life
his teeth tug at his bottom lip as he looks between you and the entrance to the stage
âgo levi.â
and he does.
leviâs sat on one of many chairs on the panel, he gulps taking a sip of water to calm his nerves. heâs not even nervous about the press conference, that can wait. he doesnât know how much youâve heard and how much youâve misinterpreted what heâs said
he finds it weird at first that heâs even worried because you and him have a professional relationship
but then he has to stop himself from smacking the back of his own head. he knows that much isnât true, hell if it was a strictly professional relationship he wouldnât be walking around shirtless to get your attention
he wouldnât lace his fingers with yours when he was nervous eitherÂ
he wouldnât let you tend to his injuries and scold him if this was about being professional, he doesnât tolerate being scolded by anyone but if itâs you heâll take it
when itâs you scolding him for fucking up one of his fists it feels okay, it feels right. he feels warm inside knowing that you have to care for him if you get that angryÂ
he sighs feeling exasperated waiting for the last person to join the panel and get this question and answers segment over and done with
zeke makes his obnoxiously late appearance but levi doesnât have it in him to roll his eyes. evidently heâs still stuck on you and thinking about apologizing as soon as this is finished
zeke sits right next to levi and some members of the crowd whisper amongst themselves
âhave they made up?â
âthink thereâs gonna be another brawl??â
âi hope not theyâre both my favouritesâŠâ
one of the reporters right in front of the stage but behind the barricades is the first to speak
âas we all know there has been an unmistakable sense of tension between two of the most promising contenders this year. mr ackerman and mr yaeger. would you like to put the rumours at rest?â
the question makes levi clench his jaw, zeke rolls his hands into two fists feeling just as frustrated. this is boxing not a reality tv show who cares what the terms of their long broken friendship are?
zeke nudges leviâs knee with his and levi returns the movement.
for now theyâll call a truce. it seems that both he and zeke have more pressing matters to attend to
âme and levi are bros. iâm frankly upset such a rumour started in the first place!â the crowd is mumbling again and the reporter himself is stunned by the unexpected response
âi admit that a fight which some may have saw yesterday was my fault. i had made some inappropriate comments towards his coach to get at him. it was a malicious move on my part and i hope people donât think him and i are mortal enemies because of this bump in the road.â
zeke is so well spoken when he wants to be that levi feels self conscious sitting there having said nothing.
âmr ackerman? would you like to comment or?â
leviâs eyes light up, this is an opportunity to have you hear him. he doesnât have to wait to explain when he can throw hints right now. you may be giving him the silent treatment but you wouldnât miss this press conference for the world
sitting up in his chair and clearing his throat levi looks directly into one of the cameras pointed at him. heâs sure youâll be able to see him from backstage.
âme and zeke have no other disputes apart from that i assure you. i simply value my coach greatly and so i acted rashly yesterday.â
the reporter nods along feeling pleased with the answer.
a few more questions are thrown around to the other contestants, levi sits there bored out of his mind until at the last minute before everything is just about to wrap up heâs asked a question once again
âregarding your coach, have you thought of a replacement if you win the championship?â
levi presses his lips together not understanding the question
âwhy would i replace my current coach?â where on earth has this question even come from??
ârumours have been flying around regarding lack of experience and the fact youâre outgrowing each other now. itâs all over boxing discussion forums.â
your hands are embarrassingly shoved into your pockets as people pass behind you backstage offering you pitiful looks. maybe wearing your bright pink team ackerman tracksuit wasnât the best choice because everyone can hear whatâs going on up front
leviâs memory flashes back to the number of times you hid your phone behind your back and awkwardly chuckled saying nothing was bothering you. he understands what you were hiding now
his mouth twists into a scowl, he knows youâre a few meters away listening to all of this and hearing it coming out of a strangerâs mouth is probably upsetting you
âi plan to stick with my coach till the day i die.â
you sit up not believing what you heard, it entirely contradicts what you heard last night
some journalists are jotting down notes, members of the audience are leaning forward listening intently
âwell, why is that?â the reporter presses on
levi twirls a pen around in his hands staring off into the crowd.
âi donât think anyone else could tolerate me.
you bite back a laugh because you know thatâs true :-)
âtheyâre a person who saw potential in me when no one else did.â
he chuckles to himself. âyour stamina itâs great!â his witty imitation of you is rather accurate
âthat was the first thing coach ever said to me.â he pauses allowing himself to reminisce.
âbut i did want to drop my coach the other day.â he admits.
hearing him confess to it should make you mad, you should be pissed off right now but you canât manage to feel that way at all
âi said it because i wanted them to relax. i never really understood the magnitude of the criticism they were receiving until recently.â
leviâs staring directly at the camera and his eyes pierce into yours, itâs as if heâs actually looking right at you
âiâd be lost without them, so i want to say to the one person rooting for me backstage, thank you for everything you do for me :-)â
youâre covering your face with your hands feeling the blush creep up your cheeks now. GOD what is he doing??? you may as well be the same colour as your tracksuit, youâve never heard him be this sentimental in his entire life
âso no, i wonât be replacing my coach any time soon. if anything i should worry about my coach replacing me.â
levi ackerman...
heâs a HUGE idiot if he thinks youâve ever thought of seriously replacing him
levi presses his arms against your sides when youâre both alone and in the solitude of his hotel room.
âiâm sorry for thinking you wanted to fire me.â you mumble it into his chest feeling much too embarrassed to look up at him and say it
âalso i may as well say this now but i have a fat, massive, huge crush on you â
after that you awkwardly laugh to yourself. you both kinda stare at each other and youâre meant to regret telling him how you feel right now but you donât. having that weight lifted off your shoulders feels amazing.
"you donât have to like me back or anything and i know you donât like me back obviously you probably like that one actress- what was her name?? the one with the long black hair she gave you her number at a fundraiser dinner. youâd both look cute together, have i said that??â
levi gives you a blank look
âi threw her number away.â
youâre open mouthed feeling completely shocked, sheâs gorgeous??
âHUH?? HELLO WHY? LEVI ACKERMAN, HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN HER??â
âi have but is she you?â
the all too familiar words from years ago ring in your earsÂ
nostalgia hits the both of you in waves and levi takes you in for another hug. your heart hammers in your chest and with your face pressed against him once again you can feel the irregular beat of his heart too.Â
that is when you and levi formally meet for the second time. this time you are but an experienced coach and he, an experienced boxer.

The Only Exception
Request:  @durmstrangeâ hello!! can I request a song prompt for George with the only exception by paramore? 𧥠love your work so much!Â
Pairing: George Weasley x Reader
Summary: (Y/n) swears that she will never fall in love. George is determined to change that
Word Count: 2.1k
Warnings: None that I can think of
(gif from google)
You watched as Georgeâs chest rose and fell in the rhythm of his breathing. His eyes were closed and his eyelashes fluttered against his cheek as he dreamt, the warm early morning sun gracing his features. You studied him from your side of the bed, one arm slipped under your pillow and one caressing Georgeâs arm. You smiled as he slept, in awe of the fact that you were so lucky. And a warmth filled your body as you gazed at him, an indescribable feeling that filled your senses and made your brain and heart feel like they were on fire. It was a feeling that you had so long avoided and so long swore that you would never feel. But here you were, next to George, feeling overwhelmed by a feeling you had always said never existed. Love.
You were eight years old when your dad had left, leaving the broken shell of your mother behind him. He had cried as he walked out, regretting the action that put him in this position. A drunken night after work he had broken the vow that he had made to his wife all those years ago. Through broken sobs he swore that he still loved her and proclaimed it as she threw his belongings at him, screaming at him to get out of the house. You had watched from the top of the stairs, your head poking through the bars of the banister, tears sliding down your cheeks.
Your parents had always seemed so impossibly in love; the lingering touches and sweet kisses that they shared and the way they looked at each other led you to believe that they were the epitome of what love was. But you watched as they yelled and fought and decided right then and there that you were wrong. People who loved each other couldnât cause this type of pain. And if what your parents had wasnât love, you knew that the feeling didnât really exist.
You stalked into your room and pulled out the storybook your father had gifted you for your seventh birthday. Your parents used to read it to you before bed, you snuggled between the two of them as they told the epic stories of romance and intrigue, always pointing to the princess and her savior and saying, âlook! Itâs just like Mommy and Daddy!â You threw the book in a box of your fatherâs belongings, waiting for it to disappear forever in the same way that your father had. Because that was all that love was, a fairytale.
Your father was gone from your life. You never saw him again. Your mother never remarried. She swore off romance and every night after her third glass of wine sheâd stumble into your bedroom and reminded you that she would never ever fall in love again and that you should never let yourself try. You took her words to heart.
George had dropped, quite literally, into your life during your fifth year at Hogwarts. You were shelving books in the library when he turned the corner into the aisle you were standing in. He looked over his shoulder as he ran and turned just in time to see you pressed up against the shelf with your eyes wide. He tried to stop himself before he crashed into you but ended up slipping on the floor underneath him. He tumbled down, just barely missing you. You gasped and set the books down quickly. You reached down a hand and asked him if he was alright. He just looked up at you and beamed.
âIâm alright now that a pretty girl like you is offering to hold my hand,â he said with a smirk. You retracted your hand and furiously attempted to hide the heat that rose to your cheeks. George just smiled at you before hopping up and brushing off his robes. He sent you a cheeky grin before leaning against the shelf next to you.
âThe name is George Weasley,â he said proudly, âwhatâs yours?â he asked. You ignored him, not trusting the fluttering feeling in your stomach.
âOh come on now, what is it then?â he asked again. You rolled your eyes. Before he could push anymore, Professor McGonagall appeared behind him and pulled George out of the library by his ear. George laughed before sending you a pointed look.
âIâll see you around!â he shouted at you with a wink. You froze, staring at the spot he once was for minutes after he was gone.
After that day, George seemed to become a constant in your life. He popped up everywhere; he waved hello to you from across the great hall and would flop down next to you when you studied in the courtyard. You acted annoyed when he would bother you, rolling your eyes at him when he tried to make you flustered and swatting his hand away when he tried to sling an arm around your shoulder. But secretly you enjoyed it and that scared you. You couldnât let yourself get too close and you couldnât let yourself feel too strongly for him. So you kept your distance. George swore that he would crack you one day. He longed for the moment you would truly laugh at his antics and not pretend that you hadnât heard him.
Over the summer and winter holidays, he sent you letters. They were funny and full of jokes and stories of his family. You devoured them within seconds of them being delivered, soaking up every word that George intended for you. With the letters, you could be private about your affection towards him. When he spoke to you in person you hid your ever-growing crush, trying to protect your heart from inevitable heartbreak. But with the letters, you could hole yourself up in your room and be the true blushing mess that he made you. You never responded to his letters, afraid that youâd somehow admit that he was all that you thought about.
In your sixth year, George asked you to the Yule Ball. He had come up behind you in the library, not unlike the way he did the day that you met, holding a modest bouquet of daffodils. He stood in front of you, a stuttering mess, and practically begged you to accompany him to the dance. You said yes, but only under the condition that youâd be going as friends. George had frowned at that, it clearly not being the answer he had hoped for, but agreed.
You fretted for weeks about the ball. You were nervous, to say the least. You didnât want your true feelings for George to be discovered. As much as you liked him, the memories of your parentâs final fight made you feel like you had to keep him at arms length.
When you had descended down the stairs in your golden dress, the look he gave you made all of that fly out the window. When you walked to meet him, he raised your hands to his lips and kissed it, murmuring that you looked beautiful. And as you spun around the Great Hall with George, you found yourself not thinking of the inevitability of heartbreak, but only of the feeling of his arms wrapped around your waist and the feeling of your head on his chest.
That night when he walked you back to the common room he told you that he wished that you could have come to the ball as more than friends. You shyly tucked a strand of hair behind your ear before hesitantly agreeing. His face broke out into a gorgeous grin before he leaned down and ghosted his lips against yours.
One night towards the end of your sixth year you sat in the owlery with Geroge. His head was in your lap and he toyed with your fingers as you recounted your day to him. After four months of officially dating, you were still getting used to calling George your boyfriend and the little intimacies that came with giving him that title. The way heâs brushed your hair out of your face or put a hand on your knee when you sat near each other. You always felt startled by the way he looked at you, pure adoration shining in his eyes. You felt just as deeply for him as he felt for you, yet you couldnât help but feel scared. Because deep in the recess of your mind you always reminded yourself that this type of feeling never lasted.
You continued to relay the story of how Snape had managed to make a cauldron explode during class when George sat up suddenly. You paused in the midst of your story, furrowing your eyebrows at his abrupt movement. George looked at you with a flushed face and nervous smile.
âI love you,â he said suddenly, the blush across his pale, freckled skin only deepening. You froze, your throat constricting with panic. He looked at you, waiting for you to reply, but you couldnât. It felt like the walls were closing in and a hole began forming in your chest. The four-letter word brought back every painful memory of your past, reminding you of every moment that your parents had said it to each other before breaking their own hearts.
Georgeâs face filled with concern as your breathing picked up. He cupped your face gently.
âIâm sorry,â he said quickly, âI didnât mean to upset you.â His voice was shaky with worry. He wiped away the tears that you werenât aware had fallen.
âGeorge I-â you said.
âShh, itâs okay. You donât have to say anything back,â he said quietly. You averted your gaze.
âThank you. But I- I just canât say that. And I donât know if I ever will be able to,â you said tearfully, preparing for him to scoff and shatter your heart into a million pieces. Instead, he pulled you into a tight hug and stroked your hair.
âIâll wait for the day that youâll be able to. Iâll wait for forever if I have to,â he said softly.
George told you that he loved you often, never expecting a reply in return. He didnât quite know why you couldnât bring yourself to repeat the words back, but he loved you too much to worry about it. He knew that you felt deeply for him, and that was enough.
And with every day you felt yourself fall for him more and more. Somewhere deep inside of you, you knew that you loved him. But you didnât know if youâd ever have the strength to admit it out loud.
The night before George left Hogwarts he had tearfully bid you goodbye, promising that heâd think of you every second that you were apart. He told you about the flat above the shop and how there was a space in his bed meant just for you. Heâd slipped a key into your hand and told you that when you were ready, he was waiting for you. You had smiled at him and gave him a fervent kiss, hoping that it conveyed the words that you were too scared to say.
After you finished your final year you had shown up promptly at the front steps of your new home. After months of exchanging letters, you were finally going to see George again. You inserted your key into the lock and stepped into the shop.
âIâm sorry but weâre closed,â a familiar voiced called out. George sat behind the register, his back towards you.
âOh, I guess Iâll have to come back later then,â you said with a smirk. Georgeâs shoulderâs tensed at the sound of your voice and he promptly spun around to face you. A smile broke across his face and he hopped over the counter and ran to meet you. He scooped you up in a hug and spun you around. He peppered kisses across your face, murmuring that he loved you in between each one.
And now you laid beside him as he slept, his legs hooked with yours. You brushed your finger along the bridge of his nose, causing him to stir. His eyes slowly fluttered open and his gaze snapped to you.
âGood morning beautiful,â he said softly, rubbing his tired eyes with his hand. You leaned forward and pressed a quick kiss to his nose. You took a shaky breath and looked him in the eyes, summoning all of the bravery that you could muster.
âI love you, Georgie,â you whispered. Georgeâs eyes widened and tears began to form. He pulled you in, burrowing his head into the crook of your neck.
âI love you too, (Y/n),â he said softly, his voice airy. You had always guarded your heart and set rules to keep yourself safe. But every rule had an exception, and for George, youâd always make an exception.

Wuko in the Comics: Ruins of the Empire, Book 1 part 2
Welcome to my series of posts discussing Wuko in the Comics. In this post I'll continue to discuss RotE Book 1. There are some... interesting moments in the second half of this comic, including a very famous line that all but confirms canon Wuko.

Plot Summary
Fearing that Guan will use violence to stop the election, the Krew decides to bring Kuvira along with them to Gaoling, hoping that she can talk him down. When they come face-to-face with Guan, however, they discover he does not intend to use violence, but will run in Gaolingâs election. The Krew decides the best solution is to find another candidate with enough public support to defeat Guan fair and square; and they decide to ask Toph to run. It is revealed, however, that Guan does not intend to win fair and square. Heâs planning to brainwash Gaolingâs citizens to vote for him.
Major Plot points in the second half of Book 1
We start off right away with the Sauna Scene. Everyone looks excellent. The ladies' sauna wear is lovely. Mako and Bolin have their classic swim suits seen in season 1. Wu is literally just wearing a towel. I found myself googling saunas and steam baths to see if itâs normal to wear swimsuits or just a towel, and everything I read said pretty much anything goes as long as you are comfortable, but I do find it interesting that everyone wears swimsuits except Wu. Maybe because he does steam baths more often and heâs just more comfortable in that setting? He seems pretty confident and not at all shy. I donât have anything analytical to say about it, I just think itâs an interesting detail, that he doesnât seem to have any hang-ups about being nearly naked around Mako his friends.

They are discussing Guanâs militaristic movement toward Gaoling, and tossing ideas around to handle the situation. Mako not-so-helpfully suggests using force with the united forces which Zhu Li shoots down right away, not wanting to escalate the situation. Wu agrees and wants to find a peaceful resolution. Korra, remembering her conversation with Kuvira, thinks she has the answer. She proposes bringing Kuvira along to Gaoling, which NOBODY is happy about. Asami is upset because she made it clear earlier she does not want to be in the same room as Kuvira, Bolin is distressed because Kuvira nearly had him killed when he defected from her inner circle, Mako points out that he nearly lost his arm taking down the mech, Zhu Li says she invaded republic city, Asami reminds everyone that Kuvira killed her father, and Wu boldly declares that we canât forget she ruined his coronation⊠He quickly reads the room and apologises (character growth?).
Korra acknowledges everyoneâs concerns and points out that she truly believes Kuvira can be an ally- she was their ally when Zaheer was trying to kill her and the airbenders; and when her spirit vine weapon ripped open a new portal to the spirit world, Kuvira thought she had died and Korra believes that changed her. Bolin points out that Kuvira is very persuasive and may have a good shot at convincing Guan to stand down. Everyone is convinced and declares their support for the plan.
Zhu Li orders Kuviraâs release and Korra brings her onto the airship taking them all to Gaoling. And, Iâm sorry, this frame is like, the bitchiest collective look from Mako, Wu, Bolin and Pabu. I just love it.

They initially plan to restrain her, but decide itâs pointless when Kuvira points out if she wanted to escape that she would have already. They arrive at Gaoling and thereâs no sign of Guan and his army. Kuvira is certain heâll be there, and points out that she needs to change so she doesnât meet with him looking like a prisoner.
Korra and Wu go to meet with the election candidates. Their portraits are on the wall and itâs revealed that the candidates are both elderly magistrates who have been working in the local government for a long time. They are practically indistinguishable from each other, which causes Korra concern. Wu isnât happy about it either, he was hoping the elections would bring in new leaders to take the earth kingdom in a new direction. Instead, it looks like nothing will change in Gaoling or the rest of the earth kingdom if things play out the same way. They are both disappointed but Korra is optimistic that this is the first election and over things will improve as they iron out the political kinks
Back in the flying machine, they give Kuvira an outfit of Asamiâs that isâŠ. Like I canât put it into words. Iâve never seen asami wear it and that is a shame. The word that comes to mind is âDapperâ. Like is we saw Asami wearing it when they first introduced her character literally everyone would have predicted Cannon Korrasami and immeadiately said âyup Asamiâs gay straight women donât dress like thatâ. Slacks, a collared long sleeve shirt, with a grey vest over top. Just like, amazing. I am so disappointed we never saw Asami wear this. Someone point me to a fanart of Asami in this outfit that canonically belongs to her please.

Guan arrives and Kuvira tries to talk to him, which goes about as well as youâd expect. So she tries to appeal directly to his troops and urges them to surrender, and they all say in unison âHail Commander Guan!â. So Kuvira decides to challenge Guan and beats the crap out of him in a punch that looks like something directly out of a WWII propaganda poster or something.

Kuvira is literally about to kill him by bending the metal collar around his neck when suddenly Asami electrocutes her with some device she had hidden in the belt she gave Kuvira.
Once Mako and Bolin drag Kuvira away, Korra attempts to reason with Guan and tells him she wonât let him interfere with the election. Guan then reveals he has no intention of interfering- he plans on running in the election! He immediately turns in all the necessary paperwork to be on the ballot. He informs the Krew that soon, all the upcoming elections will have Earth Empire representatives running and once they have power in every territory, no one will question the Earth Empire's right to rule.
They reconvene back on the airship, where Kuvira is detained in the platinum box. They explain to Kuvira that she was wrong to provoke him, but right that he is an excellent strategist. Mako then tells Wu that he should just call off the election. Wu replies âMako, you know I love you, but Iâm trying to encourage democracy. I canât just go around canceling elections because I donât like one of the candidates. We need to see how this plays outâ
âŠ
Yes. âMako, you know I love youâ

âŠ
Weâll discuss that at length in a bit.
They decide the best path forward is to find a new candidate who is popular enough to beat Guan. Korra excitedly suggests Toph. Which, like, wouldnât have been the first person to come to mind for me, but I guess sheâs the only person they know who is originally from Goaling? But everyone seems on board, except presumably Toph because she doesn't like to get involved in worldly affairs⊠So Korra announces they will just have to convince her!!
We then cut to Guan's encampment, where he is discussing Kuviraâs actions with a Doctor Sheng, observing that Kuvira just isnât the same, and that the Avatar has corrupted her mind. The doctor suggests they ârecalibrateâ Kuviraâs mind and leads him into a structure where she shows him their latest ârecruits'. We then see Goaling citizens tied up in chairs with devices on their heads. They are being brainwashed to vote for Guan! Yikes!
Mako and Wu Scenes
The Sauna scene
The meeting that took place in the sauna was at the behest of Wu. He said he was very stressed out so he couldnât miss his steam bath. I know there are lots of jokes about Wu being high maintenance because he needs his spa days or whatever, but he is in a highly stressful situation right now and we know that self care is essential to maintain oneâs mental health and in order to perform oneâs job well. I think this was an interesting way to weave together his seemingly superficial hobbies with his new maturity and responsibility. I really loved this scene for that (though seeing all the hot people in sauna-wear is a bonus).
Also there is a recurring thing where Mako is just offering the worst advice to Korra. He wants the United Republic, a completely separate Nation from the Earth Kingdom, to just.. March into another country and âenforceâ their democratic process??? LikeâŠ. If you know anything about world history and current events we know that is awful and wouldnât be received well and would be a recipe for political instability and long term conflict. Thank goodness everyone is like Mako no. Iâm pointing this out because, as much as we think of Wu as being immature, irresponsible, whatever, the reality is that he has a level head while Mako is actually giving the irresponsible solutions here. Itâs a really interesting evolution from the infamous Wu meltdown scene where Mako was the voice of reason, but here things have reversed.
Also, I want to point out the moment where Wu backs down after he adds his grievance to the list everyone is giving (She ruined my coordination!), itâs kind of played for laughs but like⊠Wu has a totally valid reason to be upset on par with everyone else, considering Kuvira had him drugged and kidnappedâŠ. Why wouldnât he have said that? Well, the simple and obvious answer is- the writers wanted to make a âArson, Murder, and Jaywalkingâ joke. But since us fans like to give depths to the characters that they deserve, maybe Wu is genuinely traumatized and just doesnât want to bring it up. And maybe everyone knows heâs traumatized and doesn't want to bring it up, because no one else is like âWu, did you forget she had you drugged and kidnapped???â They just give him a look and heâs like âLOL oops sorry should have said my thing first!!â maybe Team Avatar understands that it was a really scary moment for him and they just let him shield himself with humor.
I know it isnât isnât exactly a strong Wuko moment, but the bitchy look that Moko, Bolin, Wu and Pabu give to Kuvira in the airship breathed life into me for some reason. Iâm loving how they look like a group of mean girls who were just badmouthing Kuvira before she walked in. I think they were having a nice bonding moment before this.
Mako, you know I love you
Ok. So after Mako casually mentions just calling off the election, Wu flat out says âI love youâ to Mako. This is a line us Wuko shippers just DIE for. The full line is as follows:
Mako: I say you call off the vote, at least for now. Make it impossible for Guan to win
Wu: Mako, you know I love you, but Iâm trying to encourage democracy. I canât just go around cancelling elections because I donât like one of the candidates. We need to let this play out.
So. Like, what the heck are we supposed to make of this?
Iâm not going to dig too deep and force my own interpretations and headcanons onto you. This I love you could mean a number of different things. I just want to pose some rhetorical questions about it and the context to give us all some things to think about.
Is Wu flirting? Does Mako actually know that Wu loves him? Is this an extension of Wuâs many other instances of flirting with complimenting Mako (on par with âmy big tough guyâ while staring at his ass)? Has Wu said âI love youâ to Mako before? How many times has Wu said âMako I love youâ before? Is this evidence of them actually being in a romantic relationship during this comic? Or is it evidence of romantic tension building? Is Mako just totally oblivious to the fact that Wu said I love you? Or did he hear it and his brain blue-screened from the shock of being blatantly told I love you? Has Wu just gotten fed up that Mako seems oblivious to all his previous flirtations and he just decided to up the ante? Does Mako love Wu back?!
Lots of questions. Lots of interpretations. But (as far as I remember) Mako has only said I love you to two people- his brother and Korra (I donât think he said I love you to Asami but I could be wrong). And if youâve read this you know that Makoâs relationship with Wu is not brotherly. Weâve never heard âI love youâ from Wu toward anyone else that I can recall so I donât think he makes a habit of throwing the phrase around lightly. Also, worth noting: Literally no one reacts to the casual âI love youâ. Everyone just goes on with the conversation at hand. The next frame that we see of Wu and Makoâs faces together, Mako is SMILING at Wu.

So like, heâs clearly not uncomfortable with being told that Wu loves him. And no one else is uncomfortable with it either. So what gives? Are they together? Are they flirting? Is everyone else just like âyup Wu said I love you Mako nothing out of the ordinary here because itâs painfully obvious Wu is into Mako, let's move on, nothing to see hereâ?
Wu and Korra
One thing I LOVE about these comics is the friendship between Korra and Wu. During the series, Korra tolerated Wu, warming up to him a bit at the very end when he told her his plan to abdicate. But through these comics there seems to be a comfortable familiarity between them. A bit of teasing, loads of moral support, and not a hint of her (or anyone) being super annoyed by him. He also doesnât hit on her or anyone else except Mako, which is a very refreshing character growth because it was very tiresome to watch him objectify women in the animated series.
Korra and Wu spend a good amount of time together as she accompanies him to Gaolingâs city hall. They seem very comfortable with each other, comfortable enough that the writers included a fart joke.

Korra reassures Wu when he expresses worry about the election being pointless, she steps forward somewhat protectively when Guan shows up- the entire scene with Guan, Korra is standing between him and Wu.
Basically I bring this up because I genuinely love the idea that Korra and Wu are close and friendly, that they have moved on from his cringy behavior from the series (I like to think he apologized to both her and Asami?)
What this means for Wuko
If you are writing fic or just coming up with headcanon, there are two ways to look at the scenes. Either they are in a relationship, or they arenât. You could easily just say they are in a relationship and are being quiet about it, because they arenât ready to be fully public, or maybe because they are still figuring things out, or they are waiting for Wu to abdicate and move back to Republic City, etc. âYou know I love youâ is such an easy piece of canon content to make this your headcanon.
Likewise, one could say they are Not Together right now. Pre-relationship, if you will. Maybe theyâve danced around the idea, discussed feelings without actually getting together. Or maybe they are still clueless that there is a potential for a relationship. Wu might be putting out feelers to see how Mako responds to his flirtations. Mako might be wondering if heâs misinterpreting Wuâs affectionate touches and words. Lots of romantic tension, pining, each wondering if the other one has any feelings.
I also love the idea that Wu and Korra are friends and have discussed or will discuss Mako and Wuâs feelings for him.
So, in summary, Wu loves Mako. Itâs canon. Itâs right there in black and white. Make of it what you will!
Next post I will discuss Wuko in the first half of RotE Book 2. Wu goes on a life-changing field trip with Korra to meet Toph and confront a swamp-vision of his Late Great Aunt, while Mako gets captured and brainwashed by Guan. Wu and Mako are not together during these scenes but there will be lots of wonderful Wu backstory along with plenty of angst potential from the brainwashing storyline.

(Grand)mother Knows Best
So this fic is going to be a double prompt fill. I started this LAST YEAR for my entry for the Barisi Professions bingo! This is my âSonny-as-a-nurseâ AU. Â Now for Flufftober, I have FINALLY finished it and Iâm using it for Day 7: Meddling Friends (I mean, technically sheâs family but...) Also, please note: No grandmothers were harmed in the making of this fic. Thanks to @moderateshouting for giving me this idea (forever ago). And, thank you to @sarahcakes613 for the beta!

Sonny sighed as he poked at his food. A big pan of homemade lasagna always sounded great in theory, but by the third day, the novelty was gone and he was checking his watch to see if he still had time to run to the bodega on the corner. He had almost decided on Funyuns and a Mountain Dew-the dinner of champions-when someone tapped him on the arm.Â
âMay I join you?â
âHuh? Oh, of course, Mrs. Diaz.â He shifted and prepared to stand, âdo you need help?â
âNo,â she waived him off and took a seat at the picnic table across from him, âIâm not as helpless as my grandson thinks.â
Sonny smiled kindly, âIâm sure he doesnât think that, Mrs. Diaz.â
âI would have been just fine in my apartment,â she insisted.
âAnd how many flights of stairs was that?â Sonny asked.
She huffed and rolled her eyes. âYou sound just like him, you know?â Sonny chuckled as he rummaged through his lunch bag. Residents were always telling him he reminded them of their sons or grandsons. It was a compliment. Â He hoped. âYou seem like a nice boy. I bet youâd never stick your abuela in a place like this.â
Sonny shrugged and took a bite from an apple. âI couldnât afford to stick my nonna in a place like this.â
âYouâre always here on Fridays. Saturdays too. Â A handsome young man like you... your wife doesnât mind you leaving her home alone all weekend?â
âMrs. Diaz-â
âCatalina. Please, call me Catalina.â
âCatalina, you know Iâm not married,â Sonny sighed.
âDo you want to be?âÂ
Sonny opened his mouth and then closed it, clearing his throat. He sipped from his water bottle to stall and settled for a casual shrug. Personal questions werenât entirely unusual, but they were usually followed up with an attempt at setting him up with someoneâs granddaughter (or once, someoneâs daughter), and Sonny wasnât interested.  âSomeday. If I find the right person.âÂ
âYouâre not going to find her in here,â Catalina stage-whispered. âUnless you like older women?â
Sonny laughed, âyouâre half right. But I wonât be finding her anywhere.â He glanced at his watch, missing the scheming grin on Catalinaâs face. Â He pulled a couple chocolate chip cookies from his bag. âMy lunch break is almost over. You want to help me eat these?â
âNo. Eat them both. Youâre too skinny.â
Sonny laughed. âNow you sound like my nonna!â
Catalina stood slowly and put her hand on Sonnyâs forearm. âWell, sheâs right. Just keep in mind, us nonnas know what weâre doing.â She gave his arm a pat and Sonny watched as she slowly made her way back inside.
***
âAbuelita! Como esta?â Rafael wrapped Catalina in a hug and kissed her cheek. âHola Mami.â He held up a small bunch of yellow and orange flowers and Catalina beamed.
âTheyâre beautiful, Rafi.â He pulled a vase from the cupboard and helped clip the ends of the stems while Catalina filled the vase with water.
âRafael, come sit. Iâm going to make coffee and I was just telling your mother abou-â
âNo, I canât stay long. I have meetings this afternoon.â
âYou work too much, Rafi. You need to relax, have a little fun once in a while. Speaking of fun, you should meet-â
âI have fun!â Rafael insisted. âAnd I relax.â
âBut Rafael, I have someone I need you to meet.â
Rafael chuckled, âI just had a few minutes, and I thought Iâd stop by. I can meet your friends next time, okay?â Catalina shot Lucia a look, and Lucia shook her head, clearly not wanting to get involved in whatever her mother had planned.
âYouâll let me introduce you to Sonny then?â
âSi. Iâll come back later this weekend,â Rafael promised. âIâll even bring you dinner. Just tell me when.â
Catalina exchanged another glance with Lucia. âFriday night, in the courtyard. Is eight-thirty late enough?â
Rafael sighed. âYes. Iâll see you then.â
***
Knock knock
âGood morning, Mrs. Diaz.â Sonny popped his head into her room.
âOh, Sonny! Come in, come in! You remember my daughter, Lucia, right?â
âI do. Good morning. Â Mrs. Diaz, I canât stay today, Iâm not working in this wing. I just stopped by for my word of the day.â
âOh right. Letâs see. Â Abogado.â
âAbogado? What does that mean?â
âLawyer.â
âAh.â Sonny looked thoughtful. âIâm sensing a theme with the words this week. Â Is your grandson a lawyer, by chance?â
âSi, y muy guapo.â
Luciaâs eyes widened as she realized what Catalina was up to. Â âMother! You leave him alone!â she hissed, turning towards Sonny. âIâm sorry, please donât listen to her.â
Sonny chuckled. âItâs okay. And I will google that one. You ladies have a good afternoon.â
âOh, Sonny. Are you working this Friday?â
âI always do.â Sonny called over his shoulder.
***
Sonny settled in at his usual picnic table. He scanned the courtyard before pulling out his phone. When he looked up a few minutes later, there was a slightly older man, in a very expensive suit, standing nearby. He had a plastic bag in his hands, take-out Sonny assumed, and he appeared to be looking for someone.
âCan I help you?â Sonny called out.
âUm, maybe? Iâm supposed to be meeting my grandmother for dinner.â
âDinner is in the dining room between four and six-thirty,â Sonny replied.
âOh. She said she eats out here on Fridays. At eight-thirty?â
âNo. Just me.â
âWhat?â
âI take my lunch break out here-alone-from eight-fifteen to nine. Every Tuesday through Saturday.â
The man rolled his eyes. âGreat. Now sheâs...confused?â
Sonny cocked his head to the side, âWait. I know that eye-roll.â He looked around and then up, catching Catalina staring down at them from her window.  âWeâve been set up. Sheâs watching us.â He gestured for the other man to sit, and he did, joining Sonny at the wooden table.
âSet up?â
âTricked. Hoodwinked. Bamboozled.â
He blinked as the realization set in. âOh, Dios mio.â
âIâm guessing youâre Rafael. The, what was it? The abogado guapo Iâve been hearing so much about lately.â
âFuck me,â he muttered. âYou must be the blue-eyed rayo de sol she mentioned on the phone the other day. Iâm sorry, I donât remember if she mentioned your name.â
âItâs Sonny.â Rafael blinked again, and Sonny felt the need to clarify, âI mean, itâs Dominick, but no one calls me that.â
âNo, itâs just. She literally described you as a ray of sunshine.â
Sonny grinned, his dimples on full display. âI try.â
Rafael sighed, âWell, I am sorry she let me bother you. I will go tell her to keep her nose out of your business.â
âYou donât have to do that. I think itâs kind of sweet, actually.â
âEmbarrassing. Embarrassing is the word youâre looking for.â
âShe just wants you to-â he stopped short. âLook, Iâm the only grandson, so my nonna adores me... But she still tries to set me up with every single woman on Staten Island, you know? At least yours cares enough to get it right. I mean, she hasnât been wrong about anything yet.â
âDonât tell her that.â Rafael thought for a moment. âWell, I guess if Iâm not eating with my abuelita and she did go through all the trouble of introducing us... will you at least have dinner with me?â
âUm, yeah. I would like that. Thank you.â He watched as Rafael unpacked the food, handing him a small box. âI was beginning to wonder if you actually existed.â Sonny admitted. âI mean, you were sounding too good to be true. And then she kept insisting that I had just missed you.â
âToo good to be true, huh?â Sonny shrugged and laughed. âWell, you already know what my grandmother thinks about me. Tell me about yourself?â
Sonny talked as they ate and occasionally Rafael interjected with an anecdote of his own. Sonny was loud, he talked with his hands, and he laughed at his own jokes, and yet Rafael was intrigued. He was surprised to find himself actually enjoying the company of the younger man, and hoped Sonny felt the same.
âOh... hey, I have to get back to work. But, um, this was nice.â
âIs she still watching us?â Rafael asked. Sonny glanced up and then nodded. âThen I guess I should be on my best behavior. But would you like to go on a proper date with me sometime?â
âYes,â Sonny stood and gave Rafael his phone number. âMaybe you can come over and Iâll cook something, sometime?â
âSure. Iâll call you. It was nice meeting you, Sonny.â
âYeah, you too. Have a good night, Rafael.â Sonny turned and as he made his way back into the building, he caught sight of Catalinaâs triumphant grin.

hard to love || z. collins/t.heineman

Authorâs Note: Hi!! Iâm back with my first fic in what feels like an eternity. The fact that itâs an rpf fic about a rarepair my brain thought of for probably no reason in the middle of that shitshow of a Leafs game last night is something I can probably write a whole dissertation about. But, Iâm not gonna and say I did because I donât think I actually have it in me to write that many words about anything. Anyways! Tyler GIF credit to anotherhockeypage; Zack GIF credit to yours truly.
Warnings: A shoulder injury takes place in this fic (itâs to Zack). There is description of what the injury feels like as well as the use of a makeshift sling. If any of that bothers you, feel free not to read this. Feel free to let me know if I missed anything else and Iâll warn about it for you!
Word Count: 1.2k (literally on the nose LOL)
Title: Hard to Love by Lee Brice
Additional: If you found this by Googling yourself, are in this yourself, or know someone in this, please click back. No harm was meant in the creation of this fic. Itâs a work of fiction that was inspired by the fact that Tyler was once an ice hockey goalie for the Jr. Kings in his youth. As for the jerseys I had them both wear... youâll get a cookie in your ask box if you know why. Anyways! I hope you enjoy this and feedback is always appreciated and welcomed!
Tagging: @donttelltheelffâ
As Zack stared down Tyler coming in on a breakaway, he prepared himself in the net. He was trying to remember everything that the aforementioned Tyler had taught him. Donât commit too early. Donât overcommit. Stay with the play. It sounded simple enough but seeing how fast Tyler was rushing at him, how he was moving the ball along the pavement... everything was suddenly becoming too much to handle.
Tyler made a move to Zackâs right; Zack moved with him. Apparently, Zack had forgotten one of the rulesâdonât commit too earlyâbecause Tyler quickly moved back to his left and shot the ball towards the top corner of the net. Zack, in desperation, threw his arm out to try to stop Tyler from getting the goal. As soon as he had done that, he felt something in his shoulder snap in the wrong direction. Instead of stopping the ball as he had intended, he fell to the pavement and groaned in pain.
The ball clanked off the crossbar and deflected into the garage door behind the net It ricocheted back and plunked Zack in the back of the head before it rolled into the net. He barely registered the sound of Tyler cheering because the sound of the pain ruminating in his ears was incredibly intense.
When something touched his non-injured shoulder, Zack jolted in surprise. He had been so lost in his pain that he has forgotten that he wasnât alone. When he looked up to see who it was, he relaxed when he realized that it was just Tyler. Zack felt something pull tight in his stomach when he saw that Tyler looked genuinely frightened and concerned.
âZack? Whatâs wrong, bud?â He asked as he squatted down.
âMy shoulder,â Zack said, using his good arm to motion to where it hurt. âI felt something snap when I reached for the ball.â
âCan you sit up?â
Zack nodded as he did as instructed, trying his best to keep as much pressure off of his injured shoulder as he possibly could. Tyler looked at Zackâs shoulder and manipulated it in every possible direction to test its mobility. The entire time, Zack hissed and groaned in pain because it felt like his muscles were going to explode from the pressure that was being put on them.
âI think you snapped your latissimus dorsi muscle,â Tyler said after a few minutes. He laid Zackâs arm flat against his chest. He took off the LA Kings Jonathan Bernier jersey he was wearing and tied it around Zackâs neck like a makeshift sling. âYouâll need to wear that until we can get you into the team trainers.â
âFuck, alright,â Zack replied as he slipped his arm carefullyâand painfullyâinto the makeshift sling. âThanks, man. You seem to know your shit. I didnât realize I was friends with a genius.â
Tyler chuckled as he helped Zack stand up from the pavement. âI was a goalie and that means a lot of weird injuries. You learn a lot of medical jargon from that.â
âStill, man. Iâm a catcher and you get some weird ass injuries from that too. Doesnât mean I know what the hell a latiwhateverthefuck is.â
âYeah, yeah. I think itâs well-established that youâre mentally adjacent to something a trailer park cat dragged in out of the dumpster.â
Zack huffed in bemusement as he and Tyler walked from the driveway to the front door. Tyler opened it and motioned for Zack to go first. Nodding his thanks and smiling, Zack walked through the door and into the foyer of his house.
âThat may be true but you know you still love me all the same.â
âIn, um, more ways than one, bud.â
Stopping dead in his tracks, Zack turned around to face the other catcher. He had barely heard what was said because Tyler had inexplicably slammed the front door; it felt to Zack like that had been strategic, almost like Tyler didnât want Zack to hear him. When Zack looked at Tyler to gauge his reaction, he, predictably, looked scared out of his mind. His arms were crossed over his chest and he was rubbing at his forearms and shifting nervously from foot to foot as he seemed to be trying to look anywhere but at Zack.
âDid you just...?â Zack asked, a dumbfounded expression on his face.
Tyler nodded in response. He had stopped shifting from foot to foot. Instead, he had taken a couple of steps back towards the door, his face looking like he was ready to burst into tears at any moment.
Blinking owlishly, Zack pointed at himself with his hand that wasnât in the sling. âFeelings... for me...?â
âIf that makes you uncomfortable, I can ask for a trade,â Tyler said, his back now flush against the door.
âIf you do, Iâm asking for a trade to the same team because the way I feel for you is well beyond âstrictly bros.ââ
âIt wouldnât be the firâexcuse me?â
Zack chuckled as he held his hand out. He raised an eyebrow and gave Tyler a rather pointed look. The other catcher nodded so Zack took that as his permission to step forward and into Tylerâs personal space. As soon as he did, Tyler dropped his head against Zackâs good shoulder. Zack pressed a soft kiss to the top of Tylerâs head as he used his free hand to feather his fingers along the skin on Tylerâs side. He smiled into Tylerâs hair when he felt a shiver run up his side at the touch.
âI feel the same way, Ty.â
âThank you,â Tyler said, though it was muffled by the All-Star Jack Campbell jersey Zack was wearing.
âI think I can honestly say,â Zack paused to press another kiss to the top of Tylerâs head, âthis is the first time someone has thanked me for having feelings for them.â
Tyler lifted his head to look at Zack. Zack swallowed thickly when he saw that Tylerâs cheeks and eyes were wet. He grabbed the cuff of his jersey sleeve and took it to wipe away the wetness on Tylerâs face. Tyler responded by grabbing Zackâs wrist and pressing a soft kiss to the inside of it. A warm sensation blossomed at the point where Tylerâs lips met his skin; that made Zack sigh contentedly as he brought his thumb up to run it along Tylerâs cheek.
Smiling, Tyler turned his head ever so slightly and pressed another kiss to the inside of Zackâs wrist. The same sensation blossomed on his skin at the kiss; this time, Zack responded by leaning forward and pressing a kiss to the other catcherâs temple. That made Tyler sigh and wrap one of his arms around Zackâs midsection as he dropped his head back against the good shoulder.
âWhen youâve been as unlucky in love as I have,â Tyler said with a sigh. He patted Zack on the back a couple of times before continuing. âYou learn to be thankful when something finally goes your way.â
âIâm not like anyone youâve dated before, man.â
Tyler lifted his head and looked at Zack with a genuine smile. âWhy do you think Iâm thankful?â

al dente: cooked so it's still tough when bitten, often referring to pasta
meal: lasagneÂ
Tom had the best luck. He just had to run into Y/N when he looked âhorrendousâ as Harry so kindly put it. He had been tasked with getting the groceries while his best mates did the cleaning, which was very much long overdue. Not wanting his young and impressionable daughter, with a knack for repeating words she overhead, Tom brought her along. She had asked him questions on the car ride to Tescoâs. He had given her the warning he always gave her to behave, not that he needed to, she was his perfect princess, and unstrapped her from her seat.Â
He was given a list of things they needed for the house, most of it was nonsense, and he wouldnât get them at all, but he figured he would humour them and get kid-friendly alternates. Setting Autumn into the trolley, he started his walk around the supermarket. Autumn hummed a tune from a show she was obsessed with and would often point out things that caught her attention. He was having a great time, listening to Autumn babble on about what happened at nursery and what Gretchen and Holly did to get in trouble, until he, quite literally, bumped into a familiar woman. Apologies spilt from his mouth before he saw who he bumped into. A familiar giggle stopped his rambling and caused him to look up, making eye contact with gorgeous glowing eyes.Â
âOh, God. Y/N, what are you doing here? That was a stupid question, youâre clearly shopping, I am so sorry,â he apologised before he smiled at her. She brushed him off and smiled, her eyes moving from his face towards the small little girl who sported a cheeky smile, her honey eyes wide and laced with amusement. She thrust her tiny hand towards her and motioned for the older woman to take it.Â
ââM Autumn, but daddy calls me Burrito. Who are you?â her bluntness caused a giggle to slip from Y/Nâs lips and Tom to snap his head up to look at her in embarrassment. First, he bumps into her in the cereal aisle and now his three-year-old quite sassily asked her who she was. Sometimes he wished she didnât know how to speak as well as she did.Â
âItâs nice to meet you, Autumn, Iâm Y/N. Is this your daddy?â She asked, pointing at Tom with her thumb. Tom was never going to be ashamed of Autumn; she was his pride and joy. The apple of his eyes, the reason he lives, etc., but he silently wished his daughter said no to her question. He hadnât gathered up the courage to ask Y/N on a date, and he didnât want to ruin any chances because she found out he had a daughter before he could tell her. He wanted at least one date with her before dropping the bomb that he was a single father and having her ghost him.Â
Autumn nodded with a proud smile, her toothy smile wide as she smiled at her father. Tomâs heart swelled at the thought of his daughter being proud of him. Y/N chuckled and opened her mouth to respond before a small body barreled into her leg, holding a box of Jaffa cakes. Y/N nodded her head towards the little boy and laughed as she watched him run towards their trolley and place them in it ever so gently before he wandered the length of the aisle in search of the cereal he wanted. Y/N motioned for him to come back and grabbed ahold of his small hand.Â
âLuca, this is Tom and his daughter Autumn, theyâre mummyâs friends, can you say hi?â she said slowly while signing it out with her hands. The small boy, who couldnât be older than six, nodded his head before turning to his motherâs friends. Using his fingers and talking lowly, he introduced himself to the older man and his wife.Â
âHi, my name is Lucas,â he signed with a smile. At that moment, Tom was thankful for briefly considering teaching his daughter sign language when she was a baby. Of course, he couldnât do so, since he had a fishâs attention span, but he had googled phrases when he was researching it. He was able to catch the phrase and introduced himself with ease. The little boyâs eyes lit up; he wasnât used to someone making an effort to communicate with him, except for his mother, family, and one school friend. Y/Nâs heart swelled as she watched her cute student use his fingers to reply to her son. Every guy she had ever dated or considered dating had all but left when they found out she had son, and the ones who stayed, left when they found out he was deaf.Â
âDaddy, why is he using his fingers?â Autumn whispered. Once again mortified at his daughterâs bluntness, her father sent Y/N an apologetic smile before he turned to his daughter. He explained it to her in terms she would understand, she nodded along and turned to her newfound friend with a smile. She threw up her fingers and waved them around, much to Lucasâ confusion and the amusement of his mother. Y/N explained to her son that she was merely trying to say hello but that she didnât know his language. Autumn, getting frustrated at not interacting with her new friend, motioned for her father to take her out of the trolley and place her on the ground. Tom set her down and watched with pride as his daughter hugged the boy.Â
âUh, we should get going. It was nice to see you outside of class, Tom,â Y/N said shyly. She didnât want to leave, but she figured that if she stayed any longer and watched Tom interact with her son, and make an effort to communicate with him with Lucas in his comfort zone, she would surely fall in love with him. And his daughter, she was so much like Tom. She was kind and welcoming; she would surely want to claim her as her own but figured that a handsome, made man like Tom, definitely had a wife he kept from the public. She knew he had a daughter, but his relationship status was never discussed on the internet. And she never spent too long on the internet unless it was to research ways to make Lucasâ life as comfortable as possible and the pros and cons of a cochlear implant as of recently.Â
Tom was distraught knowing she had a son, not because it was a turn off, but because it likely meant she was in a relationship. And an established one too seeing as her son was no older than six. With a sigh, he agreed and bid his goodbye, quickly getting a box of cereal and leaving the aisle with his three year old happily babbling behind him. She cleared her throat and sent him a weary smile after he stopped and looked at her.Â
âSorry, itâs just, you took my trolley,â as if he couldnât be more embarrassed. First, he shows up to the supermarket looking less than ideal with two different socks, and an old t-shirt with spit up on it from when Autumn was a baby, then he asks her what sheâs doing at a grocery store like a knob, and now, he just has to take her groceries. He just couldnât catch a break. Sheepishly, he apologised and handed her back her trolley, once again dashing away. Y/N chuckled from her spot before turning towards her son who stared at her with wide hazel eyes under his red glasses.
âMummy, was that the cute man you told Auntie about?â Lucas signed prompting Y/N to blush, but nodded nonetheless. What kind of mother would be if she lied to her son about a small crush. She asked him what cereal he wanted, effectively changing the topic. He ran off towards the aisle and followed after the small boy, stopping when he held up a box of Frosties. She allowed him to put it in the trolley before they continued on with their shopping.Â
Tom had to bribe his daughter pack of Smarties for her to stop laughing at his misfortune, and a box of chocolate biscuits in order for her not to tell her Uncles. He needed to reduce the time she spent with Tuwaine and Harry, they were corrupting his daughter. Autumn sat in her car seat happily munching on her smarties while Tom drove, still reeling at the way he behaved around her, and about how he was smitten with a woman who probably had a family. Autumn still giggled from her carseat from time to time when she remembered how her acted in front of the pretty chef. He would resort to sending her playful glares and threatening to cut her tea time with her nana.Â
Calling for the boys to help them unload the groceries, he shuffled inside with Autumn hot on his heels. Helping out by carrying her bag of snacks, she ran towards her bedroom while calling for her uncles to help her dad. Tom rolled his eyes but chuckled. Harrison was the first one out followed by Tuwaine and Harry who all complained about helping, but did it nonetheless. Between the three man, they got the bags inside quickly and left Tom to unpack everything while they searched for Autumn, to undoubtedly wreak havoc in their home.Â
Harry came into the kitchen when Tom restocked their fridge and looked at his older brother with giddiness. Tom sent him a questioning glance before turning back towards the fridge causing his younger brother to throw one of Autumnâs toys at him. Tom turned around with offence laced in his eyes and flicked his brother off simultaneously rubbing the sore spot on his head.Â
âThat was payback for hitting me on the head,â he deadpanned before walking towards him, phone open and ready, âand it was also to get your attention. She followed me back, I figured you might want to you know, do your research on her.â Tom stared at his brother incredoulsly and reached out for the phone only to stop himself. Did he really want to stalk someone, a woman at that, that he had no chance with anymore? Did he want to be as shameless as his younger brother?Â
Shaking his head, he softly pushed his phone away from his face before turning back to his groceries; not wanting to be tempted with the offer. Harry snorted before sitting back down and started scrolling on his phone. Tom figured that was the end of his brotherâs tampering until he cleared his throat dramatically and started describing his posts to him.Â
âAnd in this one, sheâs in France with a cute baby on her hip and theyâre in front of the Eiffel Tower. Her caption says,â he proceeded to raise his voice a few octaves and mimicked her voice, even though they had never spoken before, âdecided to spend my boyâs first birthday in the city of Love!â Tom rolled his eyes at his brothers exaggerated voice and failed to catch the way his eyes widened the more he scrolled on her page as he now placed groceries in the cupboard.Â
âI didnât know she had a kid,â Harry said, Tom only ignored him, âbut I think sheâs single, she posted a picture of them together on his recent birthday and said that he was the only love of her life.âÂ
Tom couldnât help but feel better at this revelation but he couldnât know for sure until he found someway to interject it in conversation, or until Harrison does it for him. He really needed to get his act together and talk to her without making himself look like a fool. Harry continued to scroll aimlessly before he cursed and mumbled on about how he liked a picture from two years ago. Tom laughed and left the kitchen, leaving his brother alone in his debacle. Maybe that would teach him to stop stalking people.Â
The next class came quickly and once again, he dragged Harrison with him. The blond had no complaints this time around, seeing as his date with the raven haired girl went well and he was going to see her once again. He pulled into the car park and noticed the familiar red car pulling into a spot close to his. Tom watched as she struggled with the supplies in her hand and with her bags and quickly jumped out after turning off the engine. Forgetting about his friend, he locked the door and rushed to offer her his help. With a grateful smile, she allowed for him to carry some of her belongings into the class. They shared pleasantries and talked, both of them ignoring what happened at Tescoâs. They would remain friends even if they couldnât be together.Â
Tom settled down in his seat and pulled out his phone, his eyes widening when he saw Harrisonâs very angry messages. He snorted before excusing himself and walking back towards his car, making eye contact with Harrison who flipped him off. He unlocked the door and braced himself for the inevitable hurt the blue eyed man was about to inflict on him. After a rather harsh punch and even harsher words, the two walked back into the classroom and took their spots, flushing under the weight of everyoneâs eyes.Â
Y/N started her class after the entered the room and walked around after she passed around the recipe papers to them. Harrison and Tom looked at the sheet in confusion, she had never taught this way, she always demonstrated. The two looked around the room and watched as everyone else had started following the recipe, moving about their areas and puting things together. Their eyes widened as they read over the instructions once again. Re-reading a recipe at home after having made the food was one thing, but making food without doing it once was another. They swallowed and pushed down the feeling of doom they were both feeling.Â
After nearly smacking Harrison with one of the lasagne noodles and then almost getting sauce on his shoes, they worked on making the food together. Y/N had stopped by occasionally to help them out, and to put out a small grease fire, but left them to their own devices as she continued to walk around. Swallowing his pride, Harrison called for her and asked for her help which she happily gave. She demonstrated how to cut vegetables, how to grate the cheese, and even taught them a new phrase.Â
âAl dente; itâs how we refer to pasta when itâs hard but still cooked, which is what we want to do with the lasagne noodles,â she explained softly. Harrison paid attention to her demonstration while Tom focused on her and the way her eyes danced in delight as she explained and her tone was light when she answered any questions they had. With her help, they placed the lasagne in the oven and high fived as they finished without starting a fire or getting into a fight. They thanked her to which she nodded and left them to their devices while they waited. She had instructed the class to get ahead of the cleaning process and do so while they waited so they could leave early.Â
Part of Tom didnât want to leave early, but he knew he would have to. So together, they cleaned up their area and waited for their food to finish cooking. They finished quickly and Harrison ditched him for Violet, the raven haired girl he went on a date with, leaving Tom to pass the time on his phone. A tap on his shoulder brought him out of his scrolling. He looked up and met soft eyes and a warm smile. Y/N.
âI saw Harrison leave you for Violet, figured I would keep you company,â she paused, a panicked look in her eyes, âonly if thatâs okay with you of course.â Tom nodded and placed his phone down, gesturing for her to take a seat beside him. She thanked him and settled down.
âYour daughter is adorable,â she commented as she watched his screen light up with a message from his mum, his phone screen on display. It was a picture of the three year old at one of his premiers, smiling her toothy smile at the photographers. Tom thanked her and agreed with a fond smile. Autumn was adorable.
âYour son is cute,â he said, causing her to smile, âyou and your boyfriend must be happy.âÂ
âOh, no boyfriend, just me and Luca,â she informed him, âwhat about you? You and your partner must be ecstatic to have such a charming little girl running around.âÂ
âIf youâre referring to Harrison, I can assure you we are more than okay with seeing other people, preferably of the opposite gender,â he joked. She laughed and looked at him intently.
âSo, thereâs no Missus?â she inquired, Tom shook his head. She smiled at his response and opened her mouth to reply before the sound of alarms going off interrupted her. She stood up and instructed everyone to take their dishes out of the oven and check their food, making sure the noodles were soft and easy to cut into. She went around offering everyone the lid to the containers the lasagne was in and helped those who needed, close them.Â
Tom handed their container and the keys to the car to Harrison rather roughly and pushed him out the door before walking towards Y/N and clearing his throat, fiddling with his fingers. She sent him a questioning look and rose an eyebrow, waiting for him to talk.Â
âUh, I just wanted to invite you and Lucas to Autumnâs birthday,â no he didnât, he was fully intending on asking her on a date, âitâs on Saturday. Itâs okay if you canât or simply donât want to but I think-âÂ
âWe would love to come. Here, you can text me the address, and Luca and I will be there. How old is she turning?â She asked and handed him her phone. He typed in his phone number and smiled at the picture she had set her wallpaper as. It was of her and Lucas, smiling at the camera. Lucas had cake frosting smeared on his face and on his hands which he was placing on her cheek.Â
âFour,â she didnât turn four for another month. Now he had to throw together a quick birthday party and lie to his daughter. All because he couldnât ask the pretty chef out on a date.
âWeâll be there,â she said, Tom nodded and walked out of the room slowly, until she called his name, âtext me. It doesnât have to be about the party.â She winked and Tom blushed.Â
He walked towards the car with a spring in his step and his head in the clouds. He didnât ask her on a date, but he got her number and she told him to text her. That was better than nothing. Now all he needed to do was throw an impromptu birthday party for his daughter.Â

You had just gotten paid another hefty sum for brining a new fighter to the Grandmaster, not as good as the supposed Lord of Thunder Scrapper 142 caught but still nonetheless, he was pleased and you were more than satisfied with your payment. Â You were at a bar, feeling pretty good about yourself. You deserved it and you wanted to treat yourself to a drink. You sat on one of the barstools, nursing a drink and did your best to ignore the gladiators behind the barrier nearby. You werenât looking forward to this upcoming fight, but then again, you didnât particularly care about them in the first place anyways. Â Scrapper 142 joined you, opting for a bottle instead of a glass.
You understood her. It was an unspoken feeling you knew she also understood. You were similar people, and on this planet to escape your past. She had been here much longer than yourself, and you observe that nothing can penetrate her hard shell. She was invincible, and you envied her ability to keep her emotions at bay. Well, except for the drinking, but you still admired her.  At some point she went over to the barrier and actually spoke to one of the gladiators. It was odd, but you didnât question it. When she got up, you bid your goodbyes and headed to get ready for the fight. You knew you wouldnât see her at the arena, but you know she wouldnât take it personally that you left without a goodbye.
Walking down the hallway towards the entrance, an arm grabbed your bicep and pulled you down an empty hallway. Without hesitation, you pulled your blaster with your free hand and pushed it to the temple of whoever grabbed you. When it made a clinking noise, you sighed, knowing exactly who it was. Â âMando,â you say curtly, yanking your arm free and turning to face him. Â
âI need you to tell me about the God of Mischief,â he states plainly.Â
âI thought you were a good bounty hunter,â you roll your eyes.Â
âI didnât get any information, Iâm working with nothing,â he explains. You stare up at the visor, like somehow, youâd be able to study his eyes. You can feel them staring back at you though.Â
âHow is this my problem?â You scoff and he sighs, clearly getting frustrated.
âYouâre the only person I know on this planet that can help me,â he tries to insist, âIâll split the reward, please.âÂ
âIâll tell you what I know,â you say defeated. You felt bad for the man, and you knew it mustâve been hard for him to come to you. âBut Iâm not helping you hunt him down. I donât want to be close to this.â
âDeal,â he says, and offers out his gloved hand for you to shake. Â
âWe canât talk here,â you state, âthe fight is going to start soon and I need to be in attendance for a work thing.âÂ
âA work thing?â he taunts. You chuckle.
âUnless you want to join me,â you offer, âIf you can get a babysitter.â
âFine,â he says, following your lead. You walk in silence to the stands, and you find your regular seat, and he takes the one next to you. You chuckle at how out of place he looks, too bulky from the armor to fit comfortably. Â
âDo you always need to wear all this?â you ask him, gesturing to the armor.
âYes, itâs part of my code,â he replies, looking down at the arena. âNow, the bounty.âÂ
âHeâs one of the two princes from my home planet,â you explain. âHeâs actually a god, with powers.â Â
âPowers?âÂ
âYeah, astral projection, shape-shifting, hypnosis, telekinesis, teleportationâŠâÂ
âAre you serious?âÂ
âYeah,â you say with a chuckle at the shock in his voice.
âHow the hell are you supposed to catch someone like that?â he sighs, leaning back in his seat more.Â
âOutsmart him. Take advantage of the fact he probably has no idea youâre here or that anyone would be after him.âÂ
âWould anyone be after him?â
âOh gods, heâs made enemies all over the galaxy,â you retort, âI have no idea how to determine who sent you. He has a laundry list of enemies.âÂ
âOf course,â he grumbles. Â âJust in recent years, he sabotaged his own brotherâs coronation by allowing the Frost Giants to attack Asgard- our planet. Then, skipping a lot of other chaos, he led an alien attack on Earth. He was supposed to face lifetime imprisonment in the Asgardian dungeons, but he was freed to help fight when Dark Elves attacked Asgard, and he faked his death. This brings us up to speed to when I left three years ago. With everyone thinking he was dead, he returned to Asgard and removed his father, Odin, from the throne and had been ruling Asgard disguised as Odin. He was doing so for several years, before Thor- thatâs his brother; Thor came back and exposed him. So thatâs when I left, so if heâs done something else since, I donât know.â
âThat was the summary?â Â
âThat was the very abridged version,â you chuckle, âbut thatâs sort of the relevant bit.â
âWhy did you leave?â he asks curiously, âit seems like him being exposed by Thor was a good thing but you left.âÂ
âBecause I mourned him for years,â you say spitefully. âTold me himself while disguised as Odin that Loki was dead. Lied right to me, deceived me and the entire kingdom. We built fucking statues in his honor like idiotsâŠâÂ
âYou loved him,â he states simply, preventing you from spiraling. You appreciated his ability to simplify the situation. It was grounding. Â
âYes,â you say simply.Â
âAnd youâve been here for three years and he only just shows up now?âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
âAsshole,â he mutters, making you laugh. Â
âIndeed,â you agree. Â
âYou deserve better,â he affirms.Â
âThen a wanted war criminal? I would hope so,â you jest. Â
âNo, I mean, yes, but you seem- just, never mind.â Â
âThanks.âÂ
âDo you still have feelings for him?â he asks, after a short, uncomfortable silence. Â
âI donât think I could even if I wanted to,â you answer honestly. Â
âI understand,â he says, but he sounds like heâs far away, lost in his own thoughts. Â You both fall into a more comfortable silence, when the giant hologram of the Grandmaster emerges introducing the event and the fighters. You arenât really paying attention; you have heard it all before. The Champion will come out, the crowd will go crazy, and heâll just defeat whatever poor soul they put up against him. However, you are snapped out of your thoughts when you hear a familiar voice yell. Â
âThor?â you say in disbelief, standing up from your seat to get a closer look. His hair was shorter but without a doubt it was him. âShit, what happened to him?â
âThor, like Lokiâs brother?â Mando asks, staring down at the fight, both of you at the end of your seats. You look over across the stadium, and you see a familiar figure in the Grandmasterâs private box. Â
âThat weasel,â you say, narrowing your eyes, to try to get a better look. Itâs him. Without a doubt, itâs Loki sitting on the large couch next to the Grandmaster. âHeâs right there,â you point, and Mando follows your gaze. Â
âHeâs watching while they send his brother to slaughter,â Mando observes and you nod.Â
âI thought I couldnât be more disgusted,â you scoff. You wanted to be surprised but how could you be? This was Loki. Gods, you had been so blind for so long.Â
âWhat can we do?â Mando asks, already trying to look around for the exit. There are way too many people.Â
âThor has powers like Loki- not the same ones, but heâs also a god,â you say, partly to explain but also in an attempt to calm your own nerves. âHe can win this.â You hear Thor proclaim that he knows the Champion and that they are friends from work, and you cover your face with your hands from the secondhand embarrassment. You silently plead for Thor to stop trying to talk and just fight his way out. Mando hesitantly wraps an arm around you. Heâs stiff and awkward but you appreciate it regardless. It was comforting. âI canât watch,â you say, hiding your face in his shoulder. Â
Mando had never experienced something like this, ever. He hadnât touched someone for this long in a very, very long time. He knew the circumstances were terrible and his heart was breaking for you. But selfishly, he basked in the feeling of intimacy, even if it was strictly platonic. Hell, he wasnât even sure if it was platonic, because that implies a friendship. His mind was racing and he tried to ignore the warm feeling spreading throughout his body at the contact. He doesnât dare move; he was enjoying the feeling too much. Â Mando was rendered speechless as he watched the man literally conjure lightning from nothing. The fight was unlike anything he had ever seen. Of course, heâd been all over the galaxy and has seen wonders, including the little baby back in his room, but never has he seen so much power yielded all at once. He gulped, thinking about what he would be up against trying to bring in Loki. Without a doubt, heâd need to use the carbonite chamber on the Crest- but would that even hold a being of this much power? He didnât have much else of a choice. Â
The crowd erupts, booing as the Grandmaster rigs the fight in the Championâs favor, and Mando rolls his eyes under his helmet. Of course, he thinks. However, he can tell the man is still alive and is relieved to tell you, especially since you didnât dare look at the spectacle- too afraid to watch the fate of your friend unfold. Â âHe made it,â Mando said gently, nudging you and you finally turned your head back to the arena. They brought out a stretcher and the floating device brought his body off of the ground. He was breathing. âWe can find out where they took him soon,â he says reassuringly. He felt compelled to help you find Thor, not just because of his own needs, but he genuinely wanted to return the favor for the intel you provided- at no charge at that. Â The crowds clear out in a somewhat orderly fashion, but then take to the streets to celebrate the Grandmasterâs Champion.Â
You are furious that Loki would sit by and watch as Thor was sent out on that field. You had no doubt in your mind that he knew that was happening but didnât stop it. You knew him too well to think otherwise. Part of you a very long time ago had a hope the two could actually work as a team, and you had seen Thor try- you realize that now. However, at the time, you always defended Loki. You remain seated, even after the whole section of seats has long since been cleared. You felt numb and disgusted. Â
âAny way I can help you, Iâll do it,â you say finally, your eyes fixated on the crater that was formed by the fight. You were rigid, very much pissed. You had wasted a large portion of your first year here hoping heâd come after you, and as much as youâd say you wouldnât have taken him back, you know that you three years ago would have fallen back into his arms in a heartbeat if he had tried to come find you. Skurge knew where you had been sent. Loki could have easily gotten that information and followed you if he had wanted to. He obviously didnât. And you have already wasted more energy than you shouldâve in your lifetime by his side, defending him, mourning him, loving him. You were done. If there was any doubt of that in your mind before, the display before you tonight solidified your feelings.Â
You wanted to see him get what he deserved.Â
âI need you to get close to him again,â Mando says hesitantly, and you can hear the reluctance. He knows heâs asking way too much from you, but heâs desperate. Itâs the only way he can think of to out smart him. He cringes, not wanting to subject you to this character again, but he feels as though he doesnât have a choice. Â You were right that Mando needed to take advantage of Loki not knowing he was here. He could operate behind the scenes while you distracted him. It was a flimsy plan at best and he was sure you would say no. He wouldnât blame you. He saw the hurt and pain on your face, just out for the world to see. You were usually much better at hiding it, he had observed, but the events of today undeniably bothered you greatly. He felt relieved to have his helmet on. He couldnât imagine the discipline of controlling your expressions. It was something he never needed to master, and he admired your ability to do it. Â
âIâll do it,â you sniff looking back at him. Your eyes were glossed over with tears that you were not letting fall and you still held yourself with your head high. You were trying your best to not let your emotions spill over, and he marveled at your strength. Â
âYou sure.âÂ
âPositive. I can do it. Besides, I donât know how youâd do it without me.âÂ
âYouâre right,â he chuckles.Â
âI always am,â you joke. You wipe your eyes and stand up, both of you heading out of the stadium. âItâs probably better if we try to find Thor tomorrow,â you conclude noticing how dark it is now. Mando nods in agreement. Â
âAre they immortal?â he asks hesitantly, wanting to talk to you longer. Â
âNo but we live a long time,â you say with a sigh, âVery slow aging process as well.âÂ
âHow old are they?â he asks, âI mean- do you not age either?âÂ
âLoki and I are similar in age, Thor is older,â you explain. âI mean, I donât know an exact age in years, but at least a thousand? Thor probably about five hundred years older or so if I had to guess.â Â
âAre- are you serious?â he asks in disbelief. Â
âIâm an old maid,â you chuckle. Â
âYou look younger than me,â he says, still in shock.Â
âAsgardians have a five-thousand-year lifespan roughly,â you giggle, finding it amusing youâve made the bounty hunter speechless. âI know I look pretty good for my age,â you joke. Â
âYeah,â he says in agreement, and he doesnât miss the way it makes you smile. Thereâs a tension between the two of you that becomes glaringly more obvious, and you both chose to try your best to ignore it. Â
âSo, what are you?â you ask. âYou and your son- what species?âÂ
âIâm human,â he says quickly, embarrassed at what you thought he must look like under the helmet. âHeâs adopted,â he explains, and you laugh at how flustered he sounds through the modulator. Â
âAre you from Earth?âÂ
âNo, I was born on Aq Vetina,â he explains and you nod.Â
âIâve never heard of Earth.â âI thought Earth was the only place humans dwelled,â you say intrigued, âInteresting.âÂ
âAre you royalty?â he asks, trying to change the subject from his backstory.Â
âAlmost was,â you admit, âbut no. I was in the Einherjar army, warriors who protected the throne.âÂ
âAlmost?â he asks, not wanting to pry but his curiosity of wanting to get to know more about you getting the better of him. Â
âLoki and I at one point were engaged,â you say, facing the ground. Â
âIâm sorry,â he says quickly, âI shouldnât be asking.âÂ
âNo, itâs okay,â you say reassuringly, âItâs nice to talk about it after all these years. Iâm enjoying having someone whoâs willing to listen.â He wondered if that would be something he would want as well.  âThen he faked his death, and well,â you joke, âI would say that is the most unique way Iâve heard of to break off an engagement.âÂ
âI donât think that was because of youâŠâÂ
âOh, I know,â you reassure him, âBut it clearly showed me how little he actually cared for me.âÂ
âHeâs a fool,â he said quickly. Â
âIâm afraid Iâm the one who deserves that title,â you jest, trying to make the atmosphere less depressing. Â
âI donât think so,â he counters, but doesnât expand on his statement. You nod as a silent thank you. âI need to get back to the kid,â he says, âShould I meet you tomorrow?âÂ
âWhere are you staying?â You say, âIâll come to you. Iâm too close to the Grandmaster, and then by extension Loki- me going to you keeps you off the radar longer.âÂ
He gives you the name of where heâs staying and his room, actually trusting you with it. You immediately know where he is staying and you assure him you wonât have any trouble finding him. You insist you want to go find Thor alone and he respects your request. You promise to go to him after. You part ways, and you return to your apartment and him to his room.Â
With the secured behind him, he picks up the child and checks on him. He felt guilty for having left him so long, but the kid had only just woken up when Mando arrived back at the room. The child was babbling and happy, and Mando fed him. His mind is still racing with thoughts of you, and how much youâve been though. Â
It almost angers him, the way that youâve been treated and discarded. Like you were just a pawn in a chess game. The pain and sadness behind your eyes said more to him than your words had, even though he hung on to every syllable. He feels ridiculous, but part of him thinks about how he can be the one to change it. He can be the one to give you justice, by catching the man as he was sent here to do. And maybe somewhere also in the back of his mind he thinks about being the one who can truly make you happy. Â
The rapport between the two of you was so seamless. He never had such an easy time talking to someone before. Itâs like you just showed up out of nowhere and fell into his life and he wants you to stay in it. He thinks about if you both are successful, he somehow by some miracle is able to catch this guy, would he just part ways with you and never see you again? He hates the idea already. He knows how irrational he is being, but he allows himself to indulge in the idea of sharing things with you the same way you opened up about your past to him. He thinks about your words about how good it felt to have someone to listen, and he thinks about the urge he has to tell you everything. He thinks about finishing this job and getting off this wasteland planet and taking you away with him. He knows it would never happen. You are the closest thing he could ever encounter to a deity, and thereâs no reason for you to want him. Â
With the child tired out yet again, Mando closes his pod when the baby is asleep and he is now free to take off his helmet. Thereâs a mirror on the wall and he looks at his reflection. He sees the signs of aging on his face, something you wonât experience until long after his lifetime. Youâre the most beautiful being heâs ever encountered and here he is thinking you would return the affection he has begun to feel towards you. He doesnât believe youâre someone who cares too much about appearances, but you are used to walking among ethereal beings. He knew he would not be good enough. Maybe he had been alone too long and his mind is playing tricks on him, but he canât forget the way he made you smile. He clung onto it and took pride in it, desperately wanting to be the cause of your smile again.Â

you see his baby photos
photographs for this post are here
â jaebeom
âJaebeom will kill me if he knows weâre doing this.â
âDoing what?â
You and Jaebeomâs mom whipped around from the couch to see him standing in the doorway.
âUh, nothing!â You panicked. âJust trying to decide what we should eat for dinner.â
Not believing you, Jaebeom walked to the couch to see his childhood photographs sprawled out over the coffee table and couch.
âEomma!â He groaned.
âDonât be mad at your mom!â you said, âI begged her to let me see them.â
Grumbling, he sat next to you on the couch as he looked through the photos on the page in your lap.
âWhatever, you were going to find them eventually.â He shrugged.
Taking that as his blessing to continue, Jaebeomâs mom showed you a photo of him as a chubby baby, sitting happily on a swing.
You were unable to contain your delight as your mouth formed into an o, âJae you were the cutest baby ever! I just want to gobble you up.â
âYeah, he was.â His mom remarked fondly.
âWas?â Jaebeom asked slightly irritated.
âNot so much anymore with those awful piercings.â His mother disapproved, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose.
Shocked, Jaebeom placed a hand over his heart. âSo mean. I took it out for you.â
âAnd you look so handsome now without it.â His mother remarked, not looking up from the photo she was looking at. âDonât you think Y/N?â
Blushing, you placed your hand on his cheek, âI think he looks handsome all the time.â
â mark
You held the photograph of Mark and compared it to his face. You bit your lip, not wanting to say what you thought.
âWhat? You look like you want to say something.â Mark said, noticing your reaction.
Exhaling, you answered. âYes, but donât get mad.â
âI wonât now tell me.â Mark insisted.
He sat on his knees by the box of his memorabilia, interested in hearing what you had to say.
âDid you ever watch this cartoon, Crayon Shin-Chan?â
âMaybe? I think I used to watch it on Saturday mornings.â
âYou look exactly like the main character, Shin-Chan, in this picture,â you said holding up the photo of mark as a baby.
Mark looked at you blankly.
âOkay let me show you.â You said.
You googled a picture of the character and held up your phone and the photograph side by side.
Inspecting the two, Mark rolled his eyes. âI donât see it.â
âYou look identical!â You exclaimed.
Shaking his head, he kept sorting photographs, ânope. I donât look anything like him.â
âHow do you not see it!â You said. âIf you were a cartoon you would literally be Shin-Chan.â
âBabe, that would be like if I told you that you look like Spongebob.â
âHey! Thatâs not even a remotely fair comparison.â
âExactly. Which is why Iâm saying I donât look like him.â
âFine, agree to disagree.â You said, âeven though Iâm clearly right.â
Mark looked at you, but couldnât help but laugh at your comment as you both kept sorting through photos.
â jackson
Jackson was no help when it came to these kind of things.
His mom had texted you, I sent you some of Jacksonâs baby photos. Let me know which ones you think are cute and Iâll get them framed.
Simple enough right? Not quite.
The afternoon had stretched into the evening as you and Jackson reminisced and discovered the pictures.
âYou were so energetic.â You commented, holding the photograph of baby Jackson between your fingers. He stood smiling in a victory pose âI wonder...â
âWhat?â He asked, curious at your thought.
âDo you think we wouldâve been friends as kids?â
âHa! Absolutely not.â Jackson replied instantly.
âWhat? Why?â You frowned.
âPrincess let me tell you something. Back then? You were so out of my league.â Jackson explained. âI wouldâve never had a chance of being friends, much less your boyfriend.â
âThatâs not true.â You protested. âI was pretty shy, you wouldâve thought that I couldnât speak.â
Shaking his head Jackson took the photograph from you and set it down on the table.
âWell then why donât you tell me what you think.â You said, interested in hearing his theory.
âGladly. We wouldâve been classmates, I wouldâve definitely had a crush on you, but being the immature person I was, I wouldâve teased you incessantly. You would get so annoyed with me, but would eventually come to realize it was my stupid ways. I would eventually get the courage to ask you out, but you would let me down easy.â Jackson mapped out.
âYou make me sound so unattainable.â You pouted. âIâll tell you what I think. We wouldâve been friends, you were class clown so everyone wouldâve been friends with you. I wouldâve had a huge crush on you, but I never wouldâve said anything because I was so shy. Eventually, weâd graduate never being more than friends.â
Soaking up your story in silence, Jackson finally remarked. âIâm so glad we didnât know each other as kids.â
â jinyoung
âOh my god.â You covered your mouth to muffle your laughter. âJinyoung what is this?!â
You pointed and flipped through his baby photo album that contained not one, but three pages of Jinyoung sulking at various places.
âI knew this was a bad idea,â Jinyoung grumbled sitting back on the couch.
On this uneventful afternoon, youâd decided to do some cleaning in your apartment, only to discover a box of photo albums Jinyoungâs parents had sent over to your apartment many months ago. Unfortunately for Jinyoung that meant more reminiscing over his baby photos and less cleaning.
âYou were such a sulky baby!â You exclaimed. âOh gosh, this one is the best.â
His ears perked up as he leaned forward to look at the photo you were pointing at.
In the photograph Jinyoung stood pouting, his large ears pointing outwards as he stood straight. He seemed to be dressed in a turquoise crocheted tank top.
âI was probably annoyed with something very reasonable!â Jinyoung attempted to defend.
Looking at him with an eyebrow raised, he held his hands up in defeat. âFine. I was upset because my mom wouldnât stop taking pictures of me. But donât you think you have any photos throwing fit?â
âI definitely do, but not to the varying extent that you do,â you replied.
Narrowing his eyes at you, he spoke âalright, I think Iâve seen enough of my embarrassing pictures for the day.â
âHey, at least you grew into your ears,â you giggled, poking his side.
He turned to give you the same sulking look as the photograph. âYouâre lucky I love you.â
Turning to look at him, you continued flipping through the book, âI love you too,â
You leaned to kiss both of his ears âespecially your earsâ you then leaned in to peck his lips, resting your forehead against his âand your face when youâre sulking.â
â youngjae
You sifted through the photographs of Youngjae past on your coffee table.
JYP had asked Youngjae to send in a baby photo of himself as a special photo card option for their next comeback.
Stressed and overwhelmed by the pressures of idol life, Youngjae had delayed this task by weeks.
As you cooked dinner, you glanced at Youngjaeâs phone to see a message.
You need to send in your baby photo ASAP.
You finished cooking and headed to your albums. There were too many choices. Flipping through the albums you narrowed your choices down to three photos. Laying them out on the coffee table, you folded your hands on your lap contemplating.
Lost in thought, you didnât even realize Youngjae had awoken from his nap until he wrapped his arms around you.
âHey,â Youngjae said, his voice still groggy. âWhat are you doing?â
âYouâve been putting off sending your baby photo so I thought Iâd help you out.â You informed him.
âThank you darling.â He kissed your cheek before sitting down next you.
âAny thoughts on which one to send?â You turned to him. âI narrowed it down to three. I know which one I think you should send in, but it should be your choice.â
Scanning the photos in front of him, Youngjae finally spoke, âletâs point to our choice at the same time.â
â1â
â2â
â3â you said at that same time.
Looking to where your fingers pointed you smiled.
âI guess itâs settled then.â Youngjae laughed.
The photo youâd both picked had been one of Youngjae and his father. He was holding his son as Youngjae drank from a bottle.
âI love this photo, you look just like your dad.â You told him. âThe resemblance is uncanny.â
â bambam
âYou look so innocent.â You showed Bambam the photograph. âWhat happened to you?â
Bambam looked up from his phone to see his baby photo on your phone.
âHey! How did you get that?â He said.
âYour sister sent it to me.â You replied nonchalantly. âShe sent some real gems.â
âSince when are you and Baby texting about me?â Bambam asked, curious.
âMaybe a month?â You said, thinking back to the first time she texted.
âA month!â Bambam exclaimed. âOh god.â
âOh god is right. I can see why youâre a performer now, youâre a natural.â You told him.
Leaning his back on the couch, he sat up thinking about your earlier comment.
âWhat did you mean I was so innocent.â He pouted folding his shoulder. âIâm still squeaky clean.â
âOh please, the Bambam I know now is literally the guy who texted me last week after work that he wanted me on the bed and ready for his bigââ
âOkay! I get it.â Bambam interrupted.
âSee? Not so innocent.â You said. You held up his baby photo âThis baby on the other hand, total angel.â
â yugyeom
âY/N donât look at that.â Yugyeom said.
Ignoring his warning you continued flipping through his childhood album. You looked up to see your man child of a boyfriend towering over you and pouting.
âThese are so embarrassing, please donât.â He pleaded with you.
âYou were so cute!â You countered. âPlease let me see them. I think you were adorable.â
Giving in, he sat next to you on the couch. âFine. But Iâm going to go through them too.â
You both sat on the couch, placing the album between you.
âAre you wearing roller skates in this?â You pointed to baby Yugyeomâs feet. âI wanna hear the story behind this.â
âOh man, that was before I cut my head.â Yugyeom reminisced.
âWhat?!â You said, shocked that he had been in so much danger.
âYeah. My dad had taken me and my brother out to rollerskate. I was so stubborn as a kid, I refused to wear a helmet.â Yugyeom recounted to you. âThings were fine until I tripped on my skate and ended up hitting my head on a rock. There was blood everywhereâ
âThat mustâve been scary.â You said, leaning on his shoulder.
âI think my dad was more freaked out that me. Luckily I only needed two stitches.â He rested his head against yours. âI still have the scar.â
You leaned back as Yugyeom pulled his hair out of his face. Lifting it up, he revealed a scar going into his forehead.
Reaching out, you gingerly touched it. Pressing a kiss to your index and middle finger you placed it on the scar.
âHow come I never noticed this scar before?â You wondered aloud. âIt makes you look sexy.â
Scoffing, Yugyeom released the hair he was holding. âI was such an idiot. Hopefully our kids donât turn out as dumb as me.â
Your eyes widened slightly at his words. Hopefully our kids donât turn out as dumb as me. He was thinking about that?
Taking in your reaction, he lightly coughed, âI mean you know, in the future. The very far future.â
You smiled, kissing his cheek. âI hope they can dance like you. It would be a shame if they got my two left feet!â
