I really do wish they’d made it that Luke was a melodist and Julie was a lyricist. Coz we’re told that working together made each other better at music, but for that to be believable then they kinda. have to have weaknesses in the first place.

Luke was inspired by 1995-era Dave Grohl and (presumably) Kurt Cobain, neither of whom cared much about lyrics. It’d make sense if Luke had the same priorities in his music. He just doesn’t think words are important: if he can’t make someone emotional with just his guitar then he’s done something wrong. None of the lyrics he wrote were particularly deep, but every now and again Bobby would write a song they’d end up using

And Julie was raised on music theory, so she could have been an expert in the theoretical elements of music, learning how to write a great lyric from Rose. But creating melodies of her own just never clicked. Whenever she’d try to make a melody of her own, it’d always end up turning into something that already existed. Her mum was always the one who wrote the melodies for the songs they made together, and they always figured she would pick it up over time

But then Rose died, and she lost her connection to music in so many ways. Even if she’d managed to find her passion again, Rose would never get to teach her how to write a melody. And she doesn’t want anyone else to teach her. So she’ll never pick up that last bit of music

Then they start working together. Luke starts to realise how powerful a lyric can be, and Julie starts to see a different approach to making a melody. One that completely discards theory and everything she was raised on to get to the heart of what you want to say. And for the first time they both find themselves starting to pick things up about the other side of making music

Okay. So. Imagine if Julie was a lyricist who can't make an original melodies, Luke was a melodist who sucks at writing lyrics, and Reggie was the one with the parent plot. Coz Rose seemed to have stayed friends with Bobby after the guys died, so he absolutely could have told her about what the boys were like

So when she died and Julie was really struggling, she knew she should send the guys. Luke so they could help each other to write music; Julie making the lyrics and Luke making the melodies to cover each other's weaknesses until they learn from each other. Alex to let them talk and relate to each other about their shared struggles with anxiety and depression. And Reggie to support each other over how much they miss the family they've lost

Just giving the boys different dynamics with Julie and showing how each of them can help and support each other

I feel so scatterbrained right now

Like I really want to read some frickin fics (I have been for a long time) but I’m stuck and end up jumping between fandoms like help

Typically I watch a new tv show and get obsessed with it for a couple months and then I read fics in between but

I have been watching older stuff which either has little to no fics or the fandom is not as popular

I just feel stuck bc I can’t get into reading a fic, my attention span is terrible, I can’t get past the first chapter typically

The Yellowjackets play Minecraft

•Jackie digs straight down when she finds diamonds and she always falls into the lava.

•Shauna's pinky finger game is so strong from all the shift clicking but Jackie still manages to push her off cliffs when they play together.

•Van hates going to the nether because her ass is always on fire when raiding the fortress.

•Taissa gets pissed because someone keeps stealing valuables from her chest but no one ever admits it.

•Lottie loves building cute little cottage core houses.

•Natalie loves to build creepy themed buildings (always next to Lottie's) using only dark blocks and ruining her cute aesthetic.

•Misty has elytra long before the others have even enchanted a single item.

•Javi also. He helps Natalie with potion making (she still sucks at it and keeps asking him how to make water breathing potions)

•They always send Travis to fish (for enchantment books mostly).

•Shauna has a well put together farming system. She plans on getting her gear from trading with the villagers.

•Mari keeps hitting the villagers and Shauna is absolutely furious with her because they always raise their prices after being assaulted.

•Jackie took hours to learn how to make a villager breeder and after she did,she kept the thing on until villager babies clogged it. Natalie tried helping her but they broke some blocks and all the villager babies ran out.

•Shauna returns from the stronghold to find the place swimming with villagers and she goes absolutely feral. She starts chasing them around with her sword and she accidentally kills Misty's parrot(those fuckers take like, one wack with a wooden sword).

•Misty gets upset and sets Shauna's house on fire.

•Jackie is glad she didn't commit to taming any rabbits.

•Lottie's too busy gathering clay for her flower pots to care for the mayhem going on across the river.
