no offence but is this not just like bare minimum for modern video games... id put dav on par with da2 with how the short development shows in the bad enemy variety and lack of boss movesets lol

#im not expecting elden ring or anything but i remember how disappointed i was when i realised that bosses dont #have unique movesets and they just repeat over and over lok #*lol #like i reached felassan and was like oh wow cool the shield must be symbolic of blah blah blah and you can only hit him by stabbing him #in the back to mimic his betrayal. and then i went and fought like 10 more #of those shield minibosses throughout the game #playing fable last night. yknow the 2004 game with horrible 2004 mechanics. and was fighting a repetitive #clunky boss. rolling and backstabbing methodically. and went wait this is literally just like dav #dav combat could be fun. i enjoyed doing headshots. but come on.

ngl ive had trouble nailing down what his whole deal is but i think ive finally figured it out

#TAGCEN #its less about a reveal that he is not a virtuous good guy (big deal. literally not surprising)#but more about him straight up being a fairweather hero. and everyone feeling validated when he finally drops the pretense #so instead of samson and chip being ''good & evil'' its more like ''dishonest pretender hero & earnest upfront villain''#at least chip is open about being a menace. you know not to trust that guy cuz he'll backstab you for fun #samson weaponizes ambiguity in his favor which is arguably worse because you can bait yourself into trusting him #so his image is considered good because its always compared to someone even worse.#why did i get hung up on how to depict him as an actual good guy. (bonks my own head) eto blehhh #ah i guess i did like the idea of a corruption angle. but i couldnt fit all those puzzle pieces together in a story thats not about him

it’s kinda funny to me how that dumb scene in kiwami 1 of majima getting shot and left for dead in the harbor was basically just added as a half-assed way to explain majima not being around for a bit of the plot, but they accidentally(?) just made it seem like start of a chain reaction where majima ended up feeling slighted and heartbroken after being abandoned like that and then lashed out about it via smashing a big truck into the building kiryu was in. and yeah that isn’t inherently a romantic thing as-is but then they go and add the part where majima grabs a hostess and performatively hits on her as in-kiryu’s-face as possible, she says she’s already in love with someone, and majima lets her go immediately, no questions asked, making a big fucking point of it just to say see THAT kiryu? I appreciate when people are HONEST about their FEELINGS. people who won’t just BACKSTAB someone who CARES about them to save themselves. is that so crazy kiryu?? huh??? anyway make it up to me get down here and fight me right fucking now

I mean. there’s a reason he was the only person who showed up to welcome kiryu when he got out of prison #and that’s because A) he sticks to his word and his loyalty to people he cares about and B) no one else had the balls or the batshit insane #mask to wear to ward off anyone asking real questions like majima did. because ANYONE associating themselves with the supposed #patriarch-killer was a HUGE NO-NO at the time. someone important showing up for kiryu and welcoming him back outright could’ve caused #all-out warfare probably. except majima. because majima was dedicated and smart enough to use his widely-feared wildcard persona #(that everyone tended to view as incapable of having any Real agenda to worry about) to his And kiryu’s advantage #does that make sense??? Also I don't know if Steve buscemi is gonna be starscream, but I know he's in it if IMDb is to be believed. I would've killed for a Steve Blum starscream on the big screen just because of how hard he goes in the slut department and seeing that in a proper movie would eviscerate me, but tbh? I'm just glad he's back in Earthspark. Is what he deserves.

All that said, aside from the legacy VAs, you know who I REALLY want to see play starscream? Martin Short. This is my only justification:

#sondread #sonine #sonic prime #sonic the hedgehog #knuckles the dread #nine the fox #I'm gonna be a prime sonic defender forever at this rate #Anyways I channeled the me from between seasons 2 and 3 who was frustrated at seeing the stuff people were saying about my favs #Prime Sonic somehow seems to compel people to start foam at the mouth as they call him stupid and deride him for being hopeful and seeing #the good and people #and then somehow the people who are willing to be okay about Prime Sonic's tendency to try to save everyone and towards self sacrifice #can only believe it as long as sonic stupidly and naively believes his beloved friends are good people as these 'friends' so skillfully #manipulate him #Then when Sonic sees them at their worst canonically those people start foaming at the mouth when he doesn't instantly denounce or try to #imprison/kill these characters #It makes me less frustrated when it comes to Dread because I can get what people are seeing and unfortunately whatever talk transpired #between Sonic leaving the yoke in s3 and everyone else coming to fight Nine happened offscreen #You do have to dig at least slightly beyond surface level interpretation to get the reading that Dread is more than just an evil guy who was #pretending to not be #(although I would have thought how he originally tried to save his crew from experiencing him at his worst by keeping himself away from his #obsession would mean something but I digress)#With Nine to believe that he's always just been evil and manipulative to Sonic so he could backstab him you quite literally have to ignore #everything we see across the whole series and the feelings that come through in the final episodes of seasons 2 and 3 #and ONLY believe that what Renegade and Shadow say about Nine (and the chaos council in s3) is canon #And yes I do think that if you thought S3 was about redeeming certain characters so the ending could be happy go lucky then you are missing #the point of what Sonic Prime tried to say and of Sonic’s own philosophy #I daresay you missed the point of some of these characters as well if you think their arcs are about how they end with them redeeming #themselves so they can become good people and therefore deserve life and a home #fandom wank #i just be ramblin
