Some more @gonzague-if art of the inevitable betrayal and death of Philippe de Nevers by my Prince Gonzague featuring a quote from the tragedy that is titled after Médée's name sake.

Along with some flower symbolism, fitting considering I used the betrayal scene from Revolutionary Girl Utena as a pose reference.

Yellow carnations for rejection and disappointment. Daffodils can symbolize rebirth, chivalry, and unrequited love. Purple hyacinths for sorrow. Dark crimson roses for grief and mourning.

no offence but is this not just like bare minimum for modern video games... id put dav on par with da2 with how the short development shows in the bad enemy variety and lack of boss movesets lol

#im not expecting elden ring or anything but i remember how disappointed i was when i realised that bosses dont #have unique movesets and they just repeat over and over lok #*lol #like i reached felassan and was like oh wow cool the shield must be symbolic of blah blah blah and you can only hit him by stabbing him #in the back to mimic his betrayal. and then i went and fought like 10 more #of those shield minibosses throughout the game #playing fable last night. yknow the 2004 game with horrible 2004 mechanics. and was fighting a repetitive #clunky boss. rolling and backstabbing methodically. and went wait this is literally just like dav #dav combat could be fun. i enjoyed doing headshots. but come on.

ngl ive had trouble nailing down what his whole deal is but i think ive finally figured it out

#TAGCEN #its less about a reveal that he is not a virtuous good guy (big deal. literally not surprising)#but more about him straight up being a fairweather hero. and everyone feeling validated when he finally drops the pretense #so instead of samson and chip being ''good & evil'' its more like ''dishonest pretender hero & earnest upfront villain''#at least chip is open about being a menace. you know not to trust that guy cuz he'll backstab you for fun #samson weaponizes ambiguity in his favor which is arguably worse because you can bait yourself into trusting him #so his image is considered good because its always compared to someone even worse.#why did i get hung up on how to depict him as an actual good guy. (bonks my own head) eto blehhh #ah i guess i did like the idea of a corruption angle. but i couldnt fit all those puzzle pieces together in a story thats not about him

"Navani is a traitor for working with the enemy" this "Raboniel used her" that THAT'S NOT THE POINT THAT WAS NEVER THE POINT!!! It's the realization that they can accomplish more together than apart! They never could have made the Rhythm of War alone. They had to be in tandem, not fighting or trying to come out on top. That's what they taught each other! Raboniel was like "oh I'm totally not playing you, we can accomplish more together, wink wink" and the whole time she was playing herself, because she slowly came to realize that they could accomplish more together, that they were equals, that they could coexist, that the war can end.

it’s kinda funny to me how that dumb scene in kiwami 1 of majima getting shot and left for dead in the harbor was basically just added as a half-assed way to explain majima not being around for a bit of the plot, but they accidentally(?) just made it seem like start of a chain reaction where majima ended up feeling slighted and heartbroken after being abandoned like that and then lashed out about it via smashing a big truck into the building kiryu was in. and yeah that isn’t inherently a romantic thing as-is but then they go and add the part where majima grabs a hostess and performatively hits on her as in-kiryu’s-face as possible, she says she’s already in love with someone, and majima lets her go immediately, no questions asked, making a big fucking point of it just to say see THAT kiryu? I appreciate when people are HONEST about their FEELINGS. people who won’t just BACKSTAB someone who CARES about them to save themselves. is that so crazy kiryu?? huh??? anyway make it up to me get down here and fight me right fucking now

heres a real controversial tf opinion: i think earthspark and idw/taao making starscream and megatrons relationship into a abuser and his victim is stupid and completely ignores starscreams entire character and his actual relationship to megatron

also starscream does not "deserve" a redemption arc in any future transformers media. on a meta level, there is no obligation for starscream to become a better person because he is infact, not a good person, and megatron having two (2) redemption arcs in 2 series doesn't make starscream deserving of one either

I'm just glad he's back in Earthspark. Is what he deserves.
