I never realized, until after I had turned 40, how much my body craves: Sleep, Fresh Air, Exercise (walking), and silently staring at the sky and meditating. I normally don’t make #NewYearsResolutions, but the only one I am making again (I did this last year regarding the type and amount of food I was eating — and trying to keep everything in moderation. I did slip up a few times, but that is only human.) This coming year’s #NewYearResolution2021 is to: #ListenToMyBody more. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗘.... . . . . To not be happy. To not be sad. To not be any emotion in particular. To just BE. Be present in the moment and embrace the lack of emotion. 𝗧𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 “𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴”..... With being so sick the last few days I’ve been a bit out of sorts. My body is drainined of energy and I’ve been in a bit of pain. When you’re not feeling 100% it really takes some effort to even want to feel anything in particular. I’ve been “wanting” to give a sh$t, but I just haven’t.... I haven’t felt like talking. I haven’t felt like posting on social media. But that’s made me realize that, that’s ok. It’s ok to listen to my body. It’s ok to take a break. It’s ok to say no. There is no guide book to how quick you should recover from a major illness or how to go about it. So, right now, I have to listen to myself. The inner voice which is telling me to slow down. #Confessiontime: I have begun my journey back to a #healthy #foodrelationship. . I am seeing a therapist and dietician as part of an #eatingdisorder management team at #UCF. My first meeting with the dietician was yesterday and I am jumping in with both feet! Here is my first meal, not perfect, but I don't expect to be perfect. I've got grains, dairy, veggies, fruit and protein. (#andcoffeeofcourse) . My dietician has recommended no more keto. (I don't think it is a bad way to go but it didnt work for me). I am to make sure I get every single food group on my plate at every meal. She also asked me to stay away from artificial sweeteners to see if that could be messing with my body's hunger cues. I have sorely missed fruit so this is one change I can really get behind. . I have tried so many restrictive diets and trendy things to get my weight and eating under control and now I'm going to try to simply listen to my body. What a novel concept. . I cleaned the fridge and pantry yesterday and am heading to #Aldi later with a list full of fresh and whole foods. #whosexcited!?!? #thislionessis!!!! . #goals: 1. My distance excluded Treadmill work and Lost some time to Achilles tendon issues, but lost a lot of fat and I am putting away solid weekly hours into the #newyear. #2YearsRunning in the books. 2017 goals. Aku senang tuang Bear Brand yang udah dihangatkan ke dalam cangkir dan kuminum. Sedikit rahasia, dari dulu mama selalu hangatkan kaleng Bear Brand di dlm air panas yang sudah dituang ke mangkok (ga diboil). Jadi, sehabis minum badanku selalu terasa lebih hangat dan enakan.
