Food Consistency
My wife (who has gastroparesis and frequently needs to go on liquid diets) was watching some tiktoks about people on liquid diets.
People in both the videos and the comments had extremely different (and often startlingly wrong) ideas of what a liquid diet is.
So I figured I would do a post to clarify for anyone who might be confused, and maybe save you from having a surgery rescheduled due to eating the wrong things.
Clear Liquid Diet:
A clear liquid diet is a diet where ONLY liquids you can see through are permitted. That means no other solid food (that won't turn into a clear liquid in your stomach), no chunks, and no milk. If you're prepping for a surgery or colonoscopy there might also be limits on what food colorings are permitted as well (usually red and purple). A clear liquid diet includes:
Water
Flavored drinks (sports drinks, soft drinks, Kool Aid, etc...)
Broth/stock (vegetable, chicken, beef, etc...)
Popsicles/italian ice
Fruit juices (no pulp)
Gelatin
Coffee/Tea
Specialty clear liquid protein shakes
Full Liquid Diet:
A full liquid diet is a diet where ONLY clear liquids and cloudy/opaque "full" liquids are consumed. No other solid foods and no chunks are permitted. A full liquid diet includes:
Everything on the clear liquid list
Milk and milkshakes
Yogurt (no chunks)
Ice cream (no chunks)
Pudding
Custard
Blended Diet:
A blended diet is a regular diet in which the food has been blended with water. Usually, this is the consistency necessary for a gastric feeding tube.
Everything on the full liquid list
Smoothies
Blended soups (no chunks)
Applesauce
Literally anything as long as it's been put in a blender and is now liquid-y
Pureed Diet:
A pureed diet is a diet in which the food has been mashed into a very fine mash. It can be thicker and drier than a blended diet and the food can be "molded" into shapes that resemble the original food on a plate. This is good for people who have few to no teeth or pain with chewing.
Everything on the blended list
Mashed potatoes (no chunks)
Anything the consistency of mashed potatoes
Mechanical Soft Diet:
A mechanical soft diet is one that is easy to chew. Unlike pureed, there can be small chunks. Examples include:
Everything on the pureed list
Oatmeal/cream of wheat/cream of rice
Very well cooked vegetables
Ground and finely chopped meats
Poached or soft boiled eggs
Cottage cheese

Liquid Diet Magic: Watch the Pounds Melt Away with this Exciting Weight Loss Method
Tumblr media
Liquid diets have gained popularity due to its potential to deliver quick weight loss outcomes. This article looks at the mechanics, benefits, and potential pitfalls of liquid diets. It discusses the many forms of liquid diets, their nutritional implications, and how they might be successfully incorporated into a weight loss regimen. Liquid diets involve consuming only liquids such as smoothies, soups, and juices while foregoing solid foods. There are two types of liquid diets: clear liquid diets and full liquid diets.
Clear liquid diets include water, tea, and broth, but complete liquid diets contain more substantial liquids such as milk, yogurt, and pureed vegetables and fruits. Liquid diets can provide rapid weight loss due to calorie restriction, but they may not be sustainable in the long run. They may also cause vitamin deficiencies if not correctly balanced. Short-term use of a liquid diet can result in quick weight loss, but it may also induce nutritional deficits and muscle atrophy.
Common adverse effects include digestive issues, lethargy, disorientation, and irritability. Before beginning a liquid diet, consult with a healthcare practitioner to determine that it is safe and appropriate, particularly for people who have pre-existing medical conditions, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Healthcare specialists can assist with monitoring nutritional needs and addressing any health issues that may occur during the program.

Anthro Spearmaster.... Slugscav? Scavlizard? All of the above? Something else? No ones quite sure.
Spearmaster presented another interesting conflict similar to Artificer, where if you make them one-to-one you end up making someone (Suns) look a lot more fucked up than they really are. Since while, regardless of how you feel about animal experimentation, you can probably agree its less fucked up than human experimentation. But get rid of too much and you lose what makes Spearmaster Spearmaster- So they certainly aren't an ethical creation, but a little less unethical than literally removing a creatures mouth and making it feed via bone needles. Still not a normal slugcat by any means, and one that uses that to their advantage. Local towns see them as everything from a normal individual, to a weird hybrid, to something entirely supernatural. They keep the details to themselves and their iterator and are happy that way.

I like to think that Cybertronian morals especially for mecha that survived the Quintessons invasion like Ratchet have a bit of moral blind spot in regard to them.
Old Bot 1: It's bad to eat sapient species!
Old Bot 2: It's a Quintesson.
Old Bot 1: Oh well, that's allright then.
Initially, I was thinking along those lines, but then I veered in a different direction with cultural shifts that can occur under long-term occupation.
The extent of Quintesson occupation of Cybertron was probably an equivalent of Vietnam under Chinese rule for 1000 years. Equivalent since Cybertronians have an extremely long lifespan compared to humans, so how many generations came under that entire rule? How much information was destroyed or repressed? The Quintessons had no issues with manipulating the Well of Allsparks to their benefit, so would it be surprising if they also paved the foundations to eliminate obstacles (i.e., agriculture and foraging traditions, historical evidence of Cybertron's natural landscapes and biomes, dietary culture, and language related to cuisine, production, and health, to name a few) to ensure they had total control of the entire planet? They would have found ways to switch the natives from a varied diet into a fully liquid one with scarce esources to make it viable.

(Minors and ageless blogs do not interact)
Consider making squid ink pasta, but instead of squid ink, it’s ink from the overblots.
Squid ink has a deep, woodsy, nutty flavour, almost like a black truffle, and pine nuts. It goes best with roast portobello mushrooms, and some fish, in my opinion.
The overblot ink is more akin to writers ink at first glance, but it is a secretion from a body, is it not? Sort of like how sweat and tears are water.
Granted I’m sure if you ever got found out for eating essentially globs of vomit from the latest sick overblot student, your reputation would tank faster than Grims— because at least he’s only eating the magistones.
But even so, I’m curious! Sue me. Some weirdos might even find it fascinating (Rook might be intrigued, yet sickened).
Perhaps some students who haven’t overblotted would feel a strange… Jealousy. The intimacy of consuming someone’s literal insecurities manifested, of cherishing a remnant of their worst personality traits and turning it into something beautiful. Or at the very least, meaningful.
Ace tries to gross out other first years by showing an exposè of your dinners, and the only one who’s grossed out and remains grossed out is Sebek. Everyone does recoils and exclaims that’s disgusting, and Jack can’t even look you in the eyes for a week!
But slowly, Epel comes to the idea that maybe he wouldn’t mind if you ate his ink— if he was gonna overblot, it’d suck major dick, but at least you’d find a way to make it less shitty? Like, at least you’d care more than every’ne else, who prolly just wouldn’t wanna die.
Deuce cannot and will not articulate that he wants you to eat his overblot— he sure as hell doesn’t WANT to overblot! But maybe you’d be down to eat some mochi? Or fresh squeezed juice? Something that’s got a lot of handwork and might make him a bit sweaty. It’s like a diet version of the overblot! You’re consuming something he made to show you the bond, and you’re eating something he made from his body to show the bond! It doesn’t have to be life or death!

Aunt May asking Doc Octavius if he wants salt water or not is not only extremely sweet but also makes a lot of sense since she's Peter's guardian. Like why wouldn't she, as someone raising a human-spider hybrid, assume that the man styling himself after an octopus is also an actual human-octopus hybrid? The question implies that Peter has some specific spider-traits in his everyday living needs that we haven't been shown, that May had to learn about and accommodate.
Update: since vinegar straight up kills spiders, I've decided that May thought to ask this because of Peter's sudden and very intense "allergy" to vinegar aka acetic acid

the correct way to come out of a fast 🎀
i’m not a health acc, nor am i an ed acc, but i see a lot of girlies ending their fasts wrong, and that can be super dangerous. life threatening, even. so i decided to write this cus i have a lot of experience with fasting 🫶🏼
(if on a liquid diet, skip to step 4)
1. time
it’s a super simple process, but it’s definitely time consuming. the amount of time you were fasting is the amount of time it takes to come out of a fast. (e.g. one year i fasted for all of ramadan, even at night. i only fasted for two weeks, then slowly incorporated food back into my diet for the other two weeks)
2. liquid food
i saw someone eat an apple straight after their fast.
you cannot under any circumstances do that!!
shocking your system with food is dangerous. the first thing you should be having is a teaspoon of *blended* apple in a glass of water. (blend a peeled apple with a little bit of water to get the right consistency. do not use store bought apple juice)
it’s gross, but it’s necessary.
slowly over time, increase the ratio, until you are just drinking the blended apple. (the amount of time it takes depends on the amount of time you fasted)
3. liquid food cont.
once you start drinking just the apple, start mixing in other fresh fruits and veggies - preferably ones with a lot of nutrients. make sure it’s not too heavy.
(side note: don’t add any milk or yogurt to the smoothies, nothing but plain water!)
4. food (kinda?)
you can’t eat normally just yet, just a little more to go!! there are two options of how to do this step
one is to make the smoothies chunkier, so you have something to chew
the second is cutting yourself a *tiny* piece of apple and chewing it until you physically can’t anymore.
they are pretty similar, so it’s up to you :) (make sure to chew very well for both btw, not just the second option)
as always, slowly increase the amount of solids until…
5. FOOD! (finally 😮‍💨)
congrats! you can now eat normally!! 🥳🥳🥳
it sucks that it takes so long, but i cannot stress enough how important it is! people have actually died from ending a fast wrong before. please look after your health 🤍
if you don’t like apples, or are allergic, you can substitute them for blueberries, though you’ll have to strain the skin out until you can start chewing 🤷🏼‍♀️ (if you don’t like blueberries, then use cucumbers or lettuce, idk)
i rly hope this helped someone. pls be safe 🫶🏼🫶🏼
