いつかきっと全部手に入れる、私はそう欲張りなアイドル!
On the subject of silly little experiments, here’s another one! I still struggle with foreshortening and painting so I don’t think this turned out perfectly, but it gets across what I was going for. I don’t watch tv very often anymore but I ended up watching Oshi no Ko because I got super obsessed with Idol and the plot intrigued me, and aside from one major caveat I actually really enjoyed it! Hoshino Ai, you’re a real one *

I have written some horrible scenes for the NoHoper series so far, but somehow, having a villain refer to vampyre fledglings as "vamplets" just knocks it out of the park for creep factor. 😭

I know a lot of the fandom has been curious about how well the show has been performing with streaming. I finally found a website with some streaming data for television shows that may be useful. I'm not entirely sure how to interpret the data and do not want to fear monger if I don't have a thorough understanding, but it appears the show has had "moderate engagement" rating on a scale that ranges from “outstanding > very high > high > good > moderate > low”. However, it is also on a list of “Top 200 TV Shows” so I’m not sure if performing moderately on a “top” list is a good thing or a bad thing in terms of success. I’m also not sure if “moderate engagement” is considered a solid performance because the release is limited to select countries.
https://televisionstats.com/top/2024-05-13
Interesting site, thank you.
I am… unsure as to how reliable they are given the way they collect the data?!
Tumblr media
… like… okay?! Which hashtags do they track for example?!! (And they track torrenting… I would really love to know what and how they track). How do they calculate?! 😅
THAT said, IWTV seems to rank moderate and good for all the shows over the last days:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Given that is the overall score and the existing competition… that’s actually not bad! (imho?!)
What is interesting though is that you can select AMC and check them - and though the overall score does not seem to change much IWTV is in the top 5 of their shows. Consistently (I saw one day it was on 6, but the others is 5 or higher).
Much, much higher than MW or Orphan Black, or Snow Piercer, Parish, TWD spin offs or whatever.
Tumblr media
S2 premiere. I mean… 👀
Given that this show is only slowly establishing itself that’s actually quite good, especially given others.
I think AMC knows very well what they got there.
Breaking Bad, aaaaalways up there, didn’t establish itself right away either, that took a bit of time.
AMC is playing the long game with the Immortal Universe here. And we need to remember that as well, though its hard bc we’re all burnt by Netflix and it’s cancellations.
But AMC is a different thing. And by now I am very glad we’re on AMC. And top 5 of their shows speaks for itself too, imho.

The SEO Marathon:Why Slow and Steady wins the Digital Race
Discover why SEO success takes time and learn strategies to stay motivated during your long-term SEO journey. Perfect for digital marketers feeling SEO burnout!
Tumblr media
1.The SEO Sprint vs. Marathon Mindset
Hey there, digital marketing rockstar! Feeling a bit winded in your SEO race? Trust me, we’ve all been there. It’s tempting to think of SEO as a mad dash to the top of Google’s rankings, but here’s the truth bomb: SEO is more marathon than sprint.
Think about it. You wouldn’t expect to go from couch potato to marathon runner overnight, right? Same goes for SEO. It’s all about building that endurance, one step at a time.
2.Why SEO Takes Its Sweet Time
So, why can’t we just chug some digital Red Bull and zoom to the top? Here’s the deal:
Building Authority: Google’s not handing out authority like free samples at Costco. You gotta earn it, and that takes time.
Link Building: Quality links are like gold in the SEO world, but you can’t just mine them overnight.
Content Indexing: Google’s bots are fast, but they’re not The Flash. It takes time for them to crawl and index your awesome content.
Algorithm Plot Twists: Google loves to keep us on our toes with algorithm updates. Adapting takes time.
User Behavior: As your site gets better, so do your user metrics. But users need time to notice and change their behavior.
3.Staying Pumped When Progress Feels Slow
Feeling like you’re running in digital quicksand? Here’s how to keep your SEO mojo flowing:
Set Realistic Goals: Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is SEO success. Set achievable milestones.
Celebrate Small Wins: Did your rankings jump up even a little? Break out the party hats!
Focus on Your Audience: Instead of obsessing over rankings, focus on creating killer content your audience will love.
Keep Learning: SEO is always evolving. Stay curious and keep updating your skills.
Mix It Up: Don’t put all your eggs in the SEO basket. Try other marketing strategies too.
4.Common SEO Hurdles and How to Leap Over Them
The Ranking Rollercoaster: Rankings fluctuate. Focus on overall trends, not daily changes.
Fierce Competition: Analyze your competitors, then find ways to stand out. Be the purple cow in a field of black and white!
Resource Crunch: Short on time or money? Prioritize the SEO tasks that pack the biggest punch for your business.
Content Fatigue: Keep your content fresh and exciting. Think of it as giving your website a regular spa day.
5.FAQ: Your Burning SEO Questions Answered
Q: How long until I see SEO results?
A: It varies, but typically, you might start seeing some movement in 4-6 months, with more significant results in 6-12 months.
Q: Is it worth investing in SEO if it takes so long?
A: Absolutely! While it takes time, SEO can provide long-lasting, cost-effective results compared to paid advertising.
Q: Can I speed up SEO results?
A: While you can’t cheat the system, focusing on technical SEO, creating high-quality content, and building genuine backlinks can help accelerate your progress.
Q: What if I stop doing SEO?
A: Your rankings may start to slip as competitors continue their efforts. SEO is an ongoing process, not a one-and-done deal.
6.Wrapping Up: Embracing the SEO Long Game
Remember, friends, SEO isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s a long-term investment in your digital presence. Sure, it can be frustrating when you’re putting in the work and not seeing immediate results. But trust me, that consistent effort will pay off. So lace up those digital running shoes, pace yourself, and remember: in the SEO world, slow and steady really does win the race. You’ve got this, marathon runner!
Now, I’m curious: What’s your biggest SEO challenge right now?
Drop it in the comments below. Let’s brainstorm some solutions together!
5 Words: “Boost Your SEO Marathon Endurance”
1 Statistic: “93% of online experiences begin with a search engine.”
1 Action: “Download our free ‘SEO Marathon Training Plan’ to start building your long-term SEO strategy today!”

i was going to reblog that post with someone conflating out of touch karens with "slavery quinoa vegans" but interestingly they turned off reblogs. but i didn't write this all for nothing
literally the first result on google when searching "slavery quinoa":
Debunking the myths around vegans and quinoa production: Nonvegan Leftists are engaging in misinformation when they derail vegan advocacy with quinoa production and consumption.
This has been debunked for fucking years now. The original article that gave people (twitter) the "slavery quinoa" idea doesn't mention slavery, human trafficking, or even exploited laborers. The farmers themselves actually had somewhat of an economic boom. The issue they mention is that it became expensive for consumers in countries where it's grown. There's also no source that shows vegetarians/vegans eating more quinoa than anyone else.
sorry if it sounds annoying but people making posts about how "nobody knows how food production works outside their immediate community" usually don't know much about food production outside of their immediate community either. which is kind of the point of the post anyway. i'm not even bringing up a new argument here it's just weird to see posts perform their own thesis
anyway please just fucking stop saying "slavery quinoa" forever already.

I'M SO ANGRY I ALMOST SENT IN A SUPPORT TICKET BUT I KNOW THEY DON'T GIVE A CRAP IF IT'S JUST A COMPLAINT SO I'M PASTING IT HERE TO GET IT OUT OF MY SYSTEM
To tumblr @support
"I suddenly am seeing ads on my dash, but I have ad-free. I go to look at my settings and it says there's an issue with my payment method. What could it be? My card is still perfectly good. I try several times to update my payment method: no dice. I try refreshing, opening and closing the app, etc. etc. The screen just says the same thing - sending me to the browser, linking back to the app which sends me to the browser, over and over. So I just hit cancel on my subscription, since I'm seeing ads anyway. Now, suddenly I get emails - Oh no my subscription didn't renew! Still no explanation of what the issue could be. But new email: Oh no I cancelled, I should resubscribe! Except when I hit the button, suddenly it wants to use my google payment methods and NO other option. When I signed up last year I was able to use just my regular credit card, so imagine my surprise!
IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR PAYMENT PROCESSING METHODS THEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO SEND A NOTICE TO THAT EFFECT RATHER THAN WASTING MY TIME AND GIVING ME A HEART ATTACK THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY CARD!!
Seriously. I am really angry about this, it is a sleazy move to do this without a notification. How many people are you telling that "there's an issue with the payment method" when it's just that you've switched to processing through the app store rather than - what was it? Stripe? - and you need people to opt in? Really low not to just send a bloody email or something. You guys need to work on communicating with your customers (and yes, we are customers rather than just "users" once you start taking our money). I'm really mad that when you announced this, we were told we can pay any we choose, but now it's give all your payment info to google or nothing, no other options. The fact that I can see why you did it does not mitigate the fact that you should have just been transparent about it."

Amazing. It's a well known fact that the short ones are the one's you've gotta watch out for, we're more vicious. Also I'm hug sized.

It’s when you have enough hearts to pull the master sword I think
At what point exactly do you become an adult is it when you turn 18 or when you move out and get a job or is it when you emerge from the Temple of Time after a seven year sleep ready to defeat the King of Evil like how does this all work

Tight Mode: Why Browsers Produce Different Performance Results
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/tight-mode-why-browsers-produce-different-performance-results/
Tight Mode: Why Browsers Produce Different Performance Results
I wrote a post for Smashing Magazine that was published today about this thing that Chrome and Safari have called “Tight Mode” and how it impacts page performance. I’d never heard the term until DebugBear’s Matt Zeunert mentioned it in a passing conversation, but it’s a not-so-new deal and yet there’s precious little documentation about it anywhere.
So, Matt shared a couple of resources with me and I used those to put some notes together that wound up becoming the article that was published. In short:
Tight Mode discriminates resources, taking anything and everything marked as High and Medium priority. Everything else is constrained and left on the outside, looking in until the body is firmly attached to the document, signaling that blocking scripts have been executed. It’s at that point that resources marked with Low priority are allowed in the door during the second phase of loading.
The implications are huge, as it means resources are not treated equally at face value. And yet the way Chrome and Safari approach it is wildly different, meaning the implications are wildly different depending on which browser is being evaluated. Firefox doesn’t enforce it, so we’re effectively looking at three distinct flavors of how resources are fetched and rendered on the page.
It’s no wonder web performance is a hard discipline when we have these moving targets. Sure, it’s great that we now have a consistent set of metrics for evaluating, diagnosing, and discussing performance in the form of Core Web Vitals — but those metrics will never be consistent from browser to browser when the way resources are accessed and prioritized varies.
