Barty cradles Evan in his arms, rocking him gently back and forth. 

“Shh,” he whispers, cocking his gun with one hand. He leans down to kiss Evan’s forehead. “It’s alright, my love.” Evan’s breathing is uneven and ragged. His eyes stare up into Barty’s, and Barty can sense his fear. He hears shouting getting closer. “It’s okay, darling,” he says, hugging Evan to his chest and pointing his gun at the door. “We’ll get you out of here. I’m not losing you tonight.”

Summary

Remus had been waiting to be killed by Fenrir Greyback for thirteen years.

Thirteen years, seven months, 24 days and however long he had been trapped in the dark.

The moment he was taken out of his cell a bag was shoved over his head and it didn’t come off until he was shoved in another small cell that he had been forced to call home. They had left him in the clothes that he was captured in but forced a thick black collar round his neck. Remus got a quick glance at what it said before he was plunged into darkness.

They chatted and laughed about nothing in particular, and Lily let the alcohol in her blood distract her from the cloud of confusion and doubt that had been plaguing her for weeks now. Building thick and fast and derailing the image of what she thought her future could hold. Of her life with James. Of James himself. 

She wanted to say that the seed of doubt had been planted when she saw Eileen’s obituary in the Daily Prophet. That it was galvanised and given fodder when she slipped into the empty chapel that held her sparsely attended wake. But she’d be lying to herself if she said that.  

She also wanted to say that it was just this role she’d been forced into for the war efforts. But it wasn’t just that either. 

Because it was more than James and his picture perfect ways. More than the suffocating feeling she got when she thought of his wealth, his family, his status within the wizarding community, the protection it afforded her, or the unconditional ways in which he adored her.

It was this war. It was the fact that she wanted to see the world before she settled down or got taken out by a curse. She wanted a life . A life of her own. One that she could make mistakes with and own her successes. She wanted to write. She wanted to document things. She wanted to research things that really mattered, not just the dark magic they were trying to contain and eradicate within the UK. 

She had this uncontrollable and nauseating urge to pack a bag and get on the first flight she could to anywhere. America, maybe. She could write about the civil rights movement. Or Vietnam, where she could see the reconstruction happen with her own eyes. She wanted to see Congo. And Iran. Beirut. Anywhere .

im like half way through sixth year and i LOVE it

this is the first long fic i’ve read in a while because i was not in the mindset to be able to commit to something and was easily distracted but this has fully reeled me in omg

i love getting the hogwarts experience from a character that is so important but often not given their moment to shine

remus and lily are just the most perfect pair, and mary is so slay

and i was giggling and kicking my feet at james being threatening and protective of his friends, i feel like the james characterisation is not one we see often and i’m very much for it, i guess this is just how lily sees him which is not something i’ve read before and it makes me understand her more

also the oc’s are great i love violet 🫶

James sang “Honey Honey” (the mamma Mia version) while standing on top of the Gryffindor table. Marlene, Mary, and Peter were on back up vocals, while Sirius cheered them on.

Sirius thought that he was singing about Lily Evans, but Remus saw that James’ eyes never left a certain Slytherin’s.

Hi! I’ve had a couple requests for this one which is GREAT because it’s the fic that keeps distracting me from my other wips cause I’m so excited about it :)

Okay so wolfstar muggle astronauts AU which is heavily inspired by the Martian but you DONT have to have read the Martian, this fic is primarily about the wolfstar slow burn romance and Mars is just the backdrop. These boys are on their own together for a long time….

If you don’t know, the premise of the Martian is that a guy is left on Mars by his crew after a storm because they assume he was killed. But he actually survives and ends up growing his own potato farm to live on for the next couple years before he can be saved.

This fic follows that plot, only both Sirius and Remus were presumed dead and stranded so they are left to fend for themselves - LOTS of forced proximity :))))

I cannot stop writing for this fic even when I’m trying to prioritise other projects it’s just TOO FUN and I can’t wait to share it <33

God I wish people would stop excusing blatant misogyny in fanfics because "it's accurate to the canon" like sure you can have a sexist character from the 70's whatever but there's a difference between a sexist character and a sexist fanfic.

Like have a character be sexist from either their dialogue or body language but if the description of girls in the fic is "their tiny clothing clung their body making their curves look better than ever" or having any girl show any emotion as 'whiny' or just pushing sexist stereotypes and try to defend it by "oh it's written from a POV" then you're just sexist.
