#like tim is a rich person in gotham with connections to red hood and bruce wayne

Note
does bbts!kon ever think about introducing robin and tim considering they both live in gotham and could conceivably be friends? or are they just completely separate parts of his life?
for some unfathomable reason kon gets weirdly nervous when he thinks about tim and robin possibly interacting. also he pretty much assumes robin knows everything about everything so he figures if rob wanted to meet tim for any reason he’d make it happen himself.

LOST IN YESTERDAY J.T.
Request: Hi! The realisation that your requests are open are just the serotonin hit I needed while recovering from surgery! I'm a sucker for fluff, so if you don't mind I'd love to steal some from you. Could I please have Jason attending a Wayne Gala masquerade and falling in love with a person, only to not know their identity? Later, at another gala, he remeets them and figures out it was someone he used to live on the streets with. Does this make sense? I hope so; I love your writing. Tell me if not ♥
Warning: swearing, mentions of blood, alcoholic beverages being consumed
A/N: forever will be naming fics after Tame Impala songs and no one can stop me. Link to get on my taglist is at the bottom of this fic.

Everyone knew that Jason hated the Gala's that Bruce held. The non-stop complaining that came from him occurred every time that it was brought up. Tim got annoyed, Dick was frustrated, Damian was threatening to punch Jason if he spoke another word about it. They were all tired of his antics.
Nonetheless, he went to these events - especially when there was an open bar. Jason spent his time avoiding people and (occasionally) hitting on some of the beautiful women that looked his way. It was easy to hold up the "son of a playboy act" even if he didn't care about any of the people he talked to.
To feel even more ridiculous, Bruce hosted a masquerade ball. Jason hated them to begin with, but to have a room full of strangers in masks, in Gotham? Bruce knew better, but it was what his company wanted. At least with Batman and every Robin that there was there, the people would be safe.
Jason took a sip out of the glass he was holding. Ice and whiskey sloshed around in it before meeting his lips. He leaned against the counter of the bar, eyes glazing over the crowd and not looking for anyone in particular. A red mask covered half his face. Gold decor lined around his eyes that matched the tie he was wearing.
There were a dozen other things that he could have been doing that night. Taking down criminals, getting one step closer to taking down the current biggest drug lord in town, hell he could have been saving a kitten from a tree and he would have been more content. Instead, he was stuck in a room full of rich people who couldn't care less about the people of Gotham.
Jason raised his glass to the bartender, indicating another drink. "Make that two more," a voice spoke beside him. They wore a mask similar to Jason's with the exception of silver. All black attire. Lack of a smile until looking over at him. "You looked lonely standing over here."
"That was kind of the point," Jason told them. Sarcasm was heavy in his voice, though it didn't seem to bother them. The bartender set both drinks in front of them. The stranger knocked the whiskey back in one go. Jason raised his eyebrows, shocked by the behaviour of someone attending an infamous Wayne Gala.
"(Y/N)," they stuck their hand out for him to shake. He accepted, still hesitant on what to think about this person. "What's someone like you doing at an event like this?"
"Someone like me?" Jason raised an eyebrow, though it couldn't be seen through the mask. This person clearly didn't know who he was or a thing about him. He was skeptical enough on how they were that quick to pick up on his lack of enthusiasm for being there, particularly hidden behind a mask.
Nonetheless, his curiosity piqued about them.
There was something about this person that made him feel nostalgic. Back before he was the son of Bruce Wayne and everyone knew his face, before he died, hell before he was Robin. Jason didn't get that feeling very often, but he enjoyed it all the same. For that reason alone he would entertain the idea of this person.
"Tense shoulders, wandering eyes, you don't wanna be here," they pointed out to him. He could see their face scrunch up with concentration, trying to figure out exactly where those beautiful blue eyes were from. "So why stay? Or more Importantly why come at all?"
"Call it a requirement," Jason vaguely replied.  He didn't know who this person was or why they were so interested in his reason for being there, but it was starting to get on his nerves. Sure, he was curious about her - but there was nothing more frustrating than someone trying to force a conversation.
Jason adjusted the uncomfortable mask that sat on the bridge of his nose. For someone who wore a mask half their life, he despised the one that he had on. The glitter and sequence dug into his skin and he wished for nothing more than to be able to wear the domino mask he usually had on instead.
Then again, he'd rather be anywhere else but there.
"Care to dance, Jason?" His whole body froze out the sound of his name. Sure, he was recognizable as a Wayne son, but the stranger spoke it so smoothly like they had said it a thousand times - as if they had known him. He didn't like the tone in their voice or the smile on their face as they spoke his name.
They noticed how he tensed - just as he noticed the devious smirk on their lips because of his reaction. He tried so hard to think about who this person was and what they wanted out of him. Money? Murder? Was it an old enemy of his that returned from the grave? He couldn't figure it out.
A song that Jason had grown up to, one that Bruce had gotten him to elegantly learn to dance to, began playing. As much as his mind was telling him to get out of there, to figure out what this person wanted, he offered a hand to them instead. His muscles were tense, ready to strike at a moment's notice.
Jason effortlessly guided them through the dance floor. One hand rested on the small of their back, the other clasping theirs. Their bodies were flush together as they swayed to the music. Jason's eyes swept the dance floor but he could feel the gaze of the stranger's eyes on him.
"Are you going to tell me your name?" He asked suddenly.
"You're supposed to be the smart one," they remarked. Jason bit his tongue. He could have easily caused a scene, forced the name out of this person through intimidation but he knew he couldn't. Bruce would have a fit if he did anything out of line - especially anything related to being the Red Hood.
He didn't like being at a disadvantage, in fact, if there was one thing he despised it was just that. There was nothing worse than an enemy - or potential enemy- being two steps ahead of him. This person knew things about him, too many things for someone hiding behind a mask and too afraid to show their face.
Jason suddenly dipped the person, hoping to catch them off guard. The stranger was just as quick as him. They latched onto his shoulders, daring to go even lower than he had already dipped them. Their closeness had Jason completely allured by the fragrance rolling off of them. He felt himself get comfortable around them, just for a moment.
Quickly, he pulled them back up. A smile rested on their face like he had done exactly what they had wanted him to.
They pressed themselves into Jason. Hand going from his shoulder to the back of his neck. He felt a shiver run down his spine from her touch, cool hands making his baby hair stand prominent. They pressed into his skin, guiding him to lower his lips to just inches away from their own.
A sudden wave of trust filled him. He found himself wanting to lean in more until there was no space between. Before he succumbed to these desires, he sharply pulled away. The mystery person was twirled out of his chest, an arms-length apart and only held together by their fingertips.
Jason pressed his mask farther up his face as it slipped down. He pulled them back in, this time making sure to keep their hands nowhere near his bare skin.
As soon as the song was over, Jason broke apart from the mystery person. His eyes darted towards the exit. If they weren't going to leave, then he was. Jason had been there long enough to make Bruce happy and now it was time to get onto his evening with more important things.
"It was nice seeing you, Jason," The person reached up to leave a delicate kiss on his cheek. He wanted to pull away before they could connect with his skin but he was frozen to his spot. They winked at him once more from under their mask before leaving him alone on the dance floor.
He didn't know who it was, but he sure as hell was going to find out.
><
Bruce was surprised to see Jason come so willingly to a gala - especially considering that he had gone to one barely even a month ago. The gala that evening had been an extremely last minute but WE considered it necessary. So, Bruce reluctantly decided to host yet another, and Jason was on the ball to be willing to attend.
What the great Batman didn't know, was that Jason's detective work when trying to find who this mystery person was, completely failed. He couldn't find a single thing about them. They weren't on the guest list, facial recognition couldn't get a good picture of them, and he was running out of clues.
Jason was dying to know who this was and what they wanted with him to the point that he would gladly put on another suit and tie to discover the truth. Then again, it was a long shot to see if they were going to attend as well. Considering that they had just snuck in the first time, he was really pulling a hail mary that she was going to do the same again.
The most frustrating part was that this whole time he had been living on the edge. What if this person was trying to kill him? What if they had found a way to outsmart him and get to him with ease? It was agitating that he couldn't figure out how to get ahead of whoever was after him. If they were after him.
Bruce instilled it in him to be paranoid. Maybe this was just someone that knew him for being the son of Bruce Wayne or had seen him around town before. He couldn't be sure that they were even after him. Nonetheless, it was time to put an end to this relentless suffering on his own behalf.
Once again, Jason found himself planted at the open bar Bruce provided for his guests. This time, however, he was far more alert than he was last time. He could see everything happening behind him with the mirror behind the bar, his peripherals were wide open - no one could sneak up to him.
At least he thought so.
Dressed in all black, hair styled differently than the last time that he had seen them, they had sat beside him. A glass of champagne swirled around in their hands. Jason looked at them in the mirror in front of them both. Striking eyes stared back at him, a playful smirk on their face at the idea of leaving him wondering.
"You sneak in again?" Jason asked, taking a sip of his own drink. They shrugged, though the answer was clearly a yes. They leaned against the edge of the bar and faced him. It was surprising that he hadn't put the pieces together yet - usually, he was faster than this. Jason hesitated before mimicking her.
They were stunning, he could admit that.
"What do you want from me?" He asked, getting straight to the point. He was tired of being tense because of them. "How do you know me?"
They chuckled. As frustrating as it was for him - they had no idea how paranoid he really was. They didn't know about his life as Red Hood or that he was raised by Batman. They knew him as Jason Todd, the kid that persevered through everything, the kid that was lucky enough to be taken in by Bruce Wayne.
They reached out to his arm. Before they could even get close, Jason grabbed their wrist with a deathly tight grip. "I'm not gonna hurt you, Jason," They spoke calmly as if this had happened before. Hesitantly, he let go of their wrist. Gently, they pushed back the suit jacket sleeve he wore to expose his forearm.
His skin was always laced with scars and bruises - even more so since the last time that they had seen him. However, there was one thick, faint scar on his wrist that wasn't from being the Red Hood or Robin. It was from when he was a kid - a stupid accident that left him bleeding and crying.
Jason froze as the tip of their finger ran over the scar. He had gotten so many over the years that he had forgotten where most of them were from. This one, this was one of the first ones that he had gotten. One that he remembered clear as day. For this stranger to randomly pick one scar out of the dozens on his body that weren't from being a hero - it was slim. They would have had to know about it.
"It's fine, it was an accident."
"Jason! You're bleeding. We need to get you to a hospital!" Their voice was higher back then. Filled with worry and fear about the small cut that he had gotten. Jason was trying to be brave, to be strong for them. He knew how they didn't like to see him hurt in any way, especially when it had been their fault.
It was an accident. He wasn't mad, not at them. Never at them. However, the deep cut stung and he could barely stop the tears in his eyes from the pain. Maybe he did need a hospital, however, he knew he couldn't afford it - not for something that he could Maytag himself at home.
"I'm fine," Jason scowled. The cloth wrapped around his arm was becoming stained dark red. They had far more tears on their face than he had. Guilt, worry, all feelings that a kid shouldn't have run through them. Jason sighed, trying to compose himself before speaking again. "It's not your fault (Y/N). It's okay, I'm okay."
"But-"
"But nothing," Jason cut them off. "Accidents happen. Remember just last week I pushed into you and you scraped your knee. Did you blame me?" They shook their head. OF course not, they were running together when they finally stopped and Jason hadn't noticed in time. It wasn't his fault - it was theirs. Just like how this time it was his fault for not watching out. "Exactly. I gotta go home to try and fix this."
"At least let me come home with you to make sure you're alright?" They asked, wiping the salty tears off their cheeks. Jason nodded. (Y/N) was always the one to worry about him.
"What would I do without you (Y/N)?" Jason tried to heighten their mood. The boyish smile that they loved was on his face.
"I don't ever want to find out Jason Todd."
But they did. (Y/N) did have to find out what it was like to live without Jason. It was a couple of years after that incident did Catherine die, his father gone. Bruce Wayne took him in as his new ward and (Y/N) was completely forgotten about. They couldn't blame him, not really. Not when the life of his dreams was handed to him.
They always pictured Jason being happy in that big mansion. He'd get everything that he'd ever wanted, everything that they talked about as kids. He could go to a good school, use his big brains to go to college. Jason must have been happy living with Bruce, that was the only reason that he would have forgotten about his old life.
That was far from the truth.
"(Y/N)," Jason breathed out. He felt like a fool for not realizing this sooner. (Y/N) had been his closet friend growing up. They did everything together - getting away from home, being kids through all their hardships. They were inseparable until he fell off the face of the earth. Until Bruce took him in and he had to push himself away from everybody to keep them safe.
"You're getting slow with your old age," They joked. (Y/N) dropped his wrist and returned to their drink. It had to have been close to a decade since they had seen each other. Jason was far bigger than he was as a kid and it made him almost unrecognizable. "White hair and all, I guess being rich aged you."
"You..." Jason lost all trail of thought. He couldn't believe that it was really them sitting in front of him. More stunning than ever. They loved seeing him stuttering over himself, flustered that after all these years he realized that he never came back. Mostly, it was nice to see him with his cheeks flushed for the first time since they had known each other.
"It's okay Jay," They took another sip of their drink. "I figured living the high life as a Wayne would dull your street skills. I never expected you to recognize me last month." (Y/N) had gotten far more confident over the years. Never would they have acted like this when they were kids.
They were nowhere near the truth, but they were still right. He felt like a damn fool for not being to recognize them through a stupid masquerade mask. Jason stuttered out a few words before giving up altogether. He had so many things that he wanted to ask about, or even just to catch up. Instead, he just remained a flustered mess.
(Y/N) stood up from the bar stool. They leaned in to Jason, planting a soft kiss on the corner of his lips. He felt a warmth spread through his body, just like the last time they had kissed him.
"Keep an eye out, Jason. I'll be seeing you soon."
"Wait," Jason grabbed onto their wrist before they could make a step out. (Y/N) looked down to him. The large man suddenly looked small with those big, pitiful eyes. "I'm sorry, (Y/N). I'm so sorry that I never came back for you. I wish I would have, I wish I wouldn't have been so selfish."
(Y/N) sighed. They sat back down in the chair that they once occupied. Jason looked pleased with the decision, though even more fear ran through him at the moment. What did he have to say that would make everything right? Why would they show back up now?
"You don't need to apologize. You did nothing wrong," there was sincerity in their voice. Jason was no longer the bold and brave that everyone knew him as. He was brought back to his childhood in a single moment and reminded of just how vulnerable he could be. "I'm here... I'm here because I saw you in the paper a while ago... I thought you died, Jason."
I did.
All he could hear was the worry in their voice. The worry that he had died and they never got to see them again. Never got to relieve their childhood just one more time, or tell him how far he got in their life. (Y/N) was scared that they would never get to tell him that they did everything that they promised as a kid.
He nearly lost his guard for a moment. The boyish grin that he had learned to fake from Bruce spread across his face. He gestured to himself, "as you can see I'm clearly not dead." Except he had been. Except that paper had been right and they had every right to be worried about him dying. Just as it had happened once, it would surely happen again.
(Y/N) (L/N), someone who hadn't seen Jason in years, worried to death about a rumour that spread in town. His heart ached for the first time in a long time.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Jason suddenly blurted out. "I hate these stupid galas, and I don't know about you but I'm starving." To be honest, he didn't care about where they went, he just didn't want to be under the watchful eyes of the public for such a vulnerable moment.
(Y/N)'s lips turned up at his words. "You paying, rich boy?"
"As long as you let me make up for all these years," he countered. If they wanted to, Jason fully intended to bring (Y/N) back into his life. He never realized this empty hole in his heard had been because of them. His whole childhood revolved around their times together. He craved that again.
"You drive a hard bargain." (Y/N) stuck their hand out for Jason to shake. He accepted it gladly. "You've got a deal Jason Todd. It's a pleasure doing business with you."

Maribat March 2021 - Half time
In my AO3 account I am also updating the 'A playboy billionaire, an ambassador and the secret love-child' title, and sometimes I add(ed) commentary why I write something the way I do.
Masterlist
From the last fifty days here is all the plus note:
First day
In Red Robin (2009-2011) comics Vicki Vale was a little bit too noisy for her own good, that's why I used her personal annoyance against Bruce Wayne in this story.
Third day
Vanessa Rios was an assistant district attorney in Gotham in the Robin (1993-2009) run. Here I am using her as the Wayne's legal team head. Tamara Fox, Lucius Fox's daughter, is friends with Tim Drake in Red Robin (2009-2011) comics and here too. Also she is an intern with the HR department who knows about the BatFam alteregos.
Fifth day
In the comics, Alfred always followed Bruce to his 'trips' (in 'Batman and Son' to London, 'Batman & Robin Annual' to an scavenger hunt, in 'Batman Inc.' to every country where they found representatives...) However because of Damian's unpredictable behaviour he stayed at the manor with the children in this story.
Sixth day
So Young Justice thing is a little complicated to me if I dare to say something about it. There was the 'Young Justice: The Secret' and its sequels. Then there were 'The New52' and 'DC Rebirth' era, plus the animation show. And they all are kind of okay..ish, furthermore I wanted to keep the principles like the main members (Tim Drake, Connor Kent, Bart Allen and Cassie Sandsmark), however I never liked their too childish behavior in some of the works (and the mixing with 'The Titans). So in this story, here, they are more adult..ish, but more relaxed and cheerful than 'The Titans' ever was (like in comics, not in the shows).
Eighth day
In the 'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir' show they showed Lila as a manipulator without any remorse, which got me to think she has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). I am not a doctor but I had some basic lesson in psychology, and I have a natural curiosity about things so I always research everything. With diagnosed ASPD the person has to be older then 18, however I read its symptoms can show up in childhood, and it can lead to an earlier diagnosis like 14-15 years old early.
In the case of Lila she deceives people and uses them (✓). Don't makes long term plans or thinking through about her behavior (✓), however has a set on some goal she wants to achieve (✓). She has a sense of superiority above of her classmates and adults in her environment (✓), nevertheless does't have any remorse or guilt to mistreat them (✓). Uses charisma and her fake charming persona to get something or someone (✓), however didn't value them more than tools or prizes (✓).
I didn't see any real aggressive behavior from Lila beside akumatizations (✓), but on its own I think it's enough evidence, that she has this disorder (and not the many that she claimed). In normal aggressive way Lila didn't show herself (like physical violence, loud angry outbursts, big fits in front of everyone) yet, rather she uses Akumatization to hide that kind of behavior (when Adrien tried to stand up she became willingly Chameleon, or the Heroe's Day, or Oni-Chan). So her Akumatised forms and helping to Hawkmoth are the evidences that she has aggressive behavior, however they are not the classic forms (but we also can remember the threatening in the bathroom, but I think that was more intimidation and showing her superiority then pure aggressiveness).
And I wanted that recreate and strengthen this 'fact' a little bit so it would be more obvious than in the show.
Ninth day
In the comics there are so many take on Bruce Wayne it's kind of hard to count it. We could list the Batman persona, when he kind of let his children do what they want within his no-kill-rule (like living alone at fourteen with bunch of other teenager - 'Teen Titans' or 'Young Justice' or as it looks like to go rough - Robin, Red Hood). And there is the obvious martyr-parent take, when he has to know everything about his children, but he is always silent about the important things ('Death of the family' - 'Batman and Robin: Born to kill' - 'The Hunt for Robin'). And one of my favorites the worried-tired father take, when he is kind of showing his emotions and trying to love his kids ('Super Sons' - 'Robin Rises' - 'Prelude to the Wedding: Nightwing vs. Hush' ...).
And I decided to use the last with a more active take from the first (like he lets everyone do their thing but he is monitoring them within reasons). In the comics there are many accusations about being someones father (with Julie Madison or Mariah Shelley), and here in my take he is trying to be responsible (for the sake of his children, mainly for Damian and Jason) and checks every claim out personally (so they also can do DNS test).
Tenth day
Alya Césaire is a complicated someone in the show. At first she is portrayed as a fierce helper for the protagonist, Marinette. She is stubborn and reckless, but royal to her best friends.
Then came Lila and the makers sharpened her stubborn tunnel vision. This I saw it first at the 'Lady Wifi' episode, when she clearly didn't remember about the first day, when Ladybug saved Chloé (or ignored it). After that she always fixated on 'Adrienette' (or everything else if it's interesting - Dark Cupid) when the girl, herself had other things to do (Princess Fragrance, Puppeteer 2, Reflektdoll 2, Timebreaker). So it was not that big surprise when her tunnel vision turned to Lila, and she (and everybody in her class) forgot about that they all met Jagged Stone and with his crocodile already.
Yeah, it's all true, however unlike Lila, Alya didn't show any other big social flaw. And she is 14 years old and middle child, which is kind of important in someone personality. She has to be a mature figure and a little child at the same time in her sibling's eyes. She has to compete attention in their parents eyes and be smart about it.
Moreover if we look at the Collège Françoise Dupont's students, they are all spoiled, not just Chloé or Lila or Adrien. Yes, they are not that bad like the three, but they are all sheltered to a certain degree. Their family don't have financial problems (famous chef, designers, mayor, famous bakery, curator in the most famous museum, police officer, famous pantomime, ...), plus they are all in a prestigious school where they can't meet people with everyday problems (and rich spoiled kid is not an everyday occurrence in my country). And beside some vision problems (Max, Sabrina) they are all healthy and the first time to meet a disability is when Lila arrived. So it's natural if they don't really know how to interact right with her (putting aside that whole lie thing).
And I think they, especial Alya, need first a little life experience, before they could be called responsible about their acts. And here I am trying to write it this kind of way, where they are all flawed, but they can learn from it.
Human being can be shallow and not perfect. These children only heard one perspective from Lila, and another from Marinette. In the show the makers not exactly specified about how well the classmates know Marinette and how depth Marinette and Alya friendship is, so there is already some trust issue.
Like yeah all of they are going to concerts, cinema, each others, however they didn't show so far any serious conservation between them (maybe the only exception is Adrien-Marinette combo). Until this year when Adrien and Alya got transferred in the class, the classmates don't even help Marinette with Chloé bullying. And one year friendship - how beautiful is it tho - is not that depth and stable, especially with that many secrets they have. And Lila 'charming' personality came into this still fragile relationship at the right time to prove this.
I am not saying that the makers is doing good to simplifies the relationships. Because rather they missed so many ziccers for the sake of promote new hero designs and the overwritten romantic scene, it's physical hurting me. But they are right that we are talking sheltered-traumatized-too naive kids, who sometimes had unearned magic powers (looking at Chloé, Alya, Kim).
And I didn't ever going the length of mentioning the adult characters. It's an other kind of wormhole.
Marinette was the only one who openly disobeyed Lila's wants. She stands up against her lies in the public so she is a real obstacle for Lila. While Adrien is only trying in the background without any witness (I don't say it's bad, because with some case it's better, but not here), and the boy is too valuable to Lila.
Lila already showed in the series she didn't stop with the lies and she is brave enough to ruin someone carrier with them (Marinette - 'Ladybug', Nathalie and Gorilla - 'Oni-Chan', Alya - 'Volpina'). And Adrien watched all of it in the front seat, and he kind of knows that Lila's main target here to discredit and broke Marinette/Ladybug (and Adrien, himself also, but it's his perspective and he is very sheltered and naive about it).
And this story she got another one to ruin. Bruce Wayne, himself. And as her fake charming side melts away in her anger as she is focusing more and more on her targets.
Eleventh day
Speed Force is one of the Seven Forces of the Universe. It grants the power of the speedsters. And some of them merged with it (for example Barry Allen). Speed Force has a direct connection to the time flow and with the Multiverse (or now Omniverse). The biggest event of it is the Flashpoint (2011) which started the New52 era. And Batman doesn't want to mix this kind of force with a really mysterious ancient magic.
Nightrunner's first appearance was in 2011 in Detective Comics Annual #12. Within the Batman Incorporated line Bruce recruited Bilal Asselah, French-Algerian citizen to represent Batman in Paris. Here he is a mentor/background assistant to the Team Miraculous and a representative of Batman Inc.
Fourteenth day
Wang Fu is not the most mature character in the show and I think it says it all. Being an 186 years old is the Great Guardian after he accidentally destroyed the temple, he is kind of shameful and amateur. And if we contrasted him with Batman... yeah. Batman is NOT happy and takes the control from the old master.
Fifteenth day
I know Cyborg, alias Victor Stone is currently shown as a founding member of the Justice League (since 2011), however I am prefer him more in the Titans. And it's not just because of the animation show form 2003, but also in the comics he is more himself with the first Titans then with the -all mighty- Justice League. And I also wanted him to have a little cameo in this story because in the Super Sons (2017-) he was kind of like a babysitter for the boys. And to me it's kind of funny how many times the bats short circuited him (Robin Rises, Super Sons: Parent Trap, ...).
Sixteenth day
Damian Wayne is a complicated character. For ten years he was teached to kill. He only learnt about his mother at eight. He only learnt about his father at ten. Thalia used him for anything from power play to plotting someone death. Bruce loves him, but he is so moronic about his own emotions it's kind of painful to read sometimes. And there is the thing where Damian is never enough, his mother cloned him (Heretic), his father has other wards (mainly Red Robin). Dick Grayson went incognito spying when the boy had finally a healthier relationship (Grayson: The Superspy). His best friend, Jon Kent was suddenly older then him (2018 Superman #16). Alfred was killed in front of him (2016 Batman #77). Yeah, Damian is a jerk, but he has every right to be a jerk in my opinion. And I wanted that recreate here as Lila is a liar and threatening his 'only' position as a blood son. His only weapon to prevent it to have a fit and doing what was teached to him.

The Most Vibriant Color In the Rainbow (Jasonette)
Tumblr media
Red. It was in your veins, it’s the color of fire and the setting sun. Red was the color of France’s superhero. A heroine that was wilting like a rose. She was hanging on by a thread and the Fates seemed so very tempted to snip it. There, in the shadow of the heroine’s mantel, lies a girl who is just fighting to not have her voice stolen from her again.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was that same hero, but she was so much more than that. She was an artist, a daughter, a designer, a partner, and a friend. Marinette knew exactly how to fix any problem that came her way no matter how bad of odds there were. She came, she saw, and she conquered every challenge that dared come between her and her goals. All Marinette wanted to do was love. So the question is, what happened to the Marinette everyone knew?
Away with the firecracker that was Marinette, anew with a pale imitation of the beautiful girl. She moves mechanically, every step she takes she’s made a thousand times over. All of this because of the Antichrist herself, Lila Rossi, made good on her promise to herd the sheep into her flock. The sound of crocodile tears could be heard ringing through the classroom, “W-why are you s-so mean? I-I just w-wanted a dress f-for the dance!”
Marinette stared at the Italian woman with a glare that could kill, “And I told you, I cant. I have my responsibilities and you have your ‘responsibilities’ we’re both busy people. Your universe may revolve around Lila, but mine revolves around me. It’s sad that you think you can guilt trip me into doing something I don’t want to do when you and I aren’t friends. Call me mean all you want, but I won’t care. You and everyone else in this class mean absolutely nothing to me. I do what I have to do to survive and you are a shepherd to week sheep. It’s unfortunate for you that you would ever think I would fall in line for you.”
A hush fell over the room. No one expected Marinette to clap-back against Lila, but more so that she would speak with no emotion backing her. Lila, stunned silent, forgot to keep crying. Ladybug doesn’t let anyone treat her like a stepping stone, so why should Marinette? Marinette is Ladybug inside and outside of the mask. She just puts the mask’s responsibilities more important than Marinette’s happiness. An obnoxious girl with glasses broke the silence, “W-What d-did you say?”
“You heard me, Alya, we are not friends. You chose the shiny new toy over truth. I want nothing to do with unreliable sources,” The tone she used was deadly, “something you do a lot. It’s no wonder why Ladybug stopped endorsing your blog. It’s such a shame that you chose someone who Ladybug has publicly claimed has no connection to her over the one who got you your interviews. Or did you forget, that I’m the one who actually knows Ladybug and is friends with?”
Everything stopped. No one breathed, blinked, or moved. You don’t know fear until the wrath of the Cheng family befalls you. Though they might not have the resources, or so you think, (A/N: I headcannon that the Dupain Chengs are rich bc they are the best bakers in Paris, plus why would Gabriel or Aubrey let their children go into public school.) The Cheng family held themselves with a an air of respect without even trying. Marinette maybe wilting due to the weight of the world, but she would not crumble to the will of uneducated teenagers.

Red. That is the color of vengeance, anger, and blood. Red is the color of Gotham’s vigilante. A zombie of a man trying to rebuild what was once his life. Across an ocean there is a boy that just had his world turn upside down. He died an incredibly gruesome death and had he thought no one mourned his loss.
Jason Todd was Red Hood, the loose cannon of Gotham. Everyone thought the pit had taken him to the place of no return. That his mind was the problem. Yes, the pit madness made his angry, but it didn’t make him lose his mind entirely. Behind his anger, Jason was just a boy taken too soon and then mutilated for other people’s benefit. He craved physical affection. He pleaded for trust. He needs his father to tell him he loves him.
Red Hood stayed out during patrol to clear his head. He looked down on the city while perched on a high rise. It usually calmed the voices in his head, tonight they seemed restless. Jason wished for silence, he felt oppressed by the dreariness of the city. Something in his heart told him that this isn’t where he was meant to be. The voices told him to jump off the high rise and to the voices Jason responded with a kind, “Thanks Karen, but fuck right off.”
No stars could be seen due to the pollution of Gotham, but the moonlight shone on Red Hood. He stared at the moon, deep in thought, “Where would I even go?” He asked himself, “Who would want me?”
Not even the voices wanted to hear him talk about him, “Paris,” they whispered.
“Why Paris?” Paris? What’s so specials about Paris?
“Trust us,” the voices responded, “there’s something you won’t want to miss.”
Jason filed that under the folder titled ‘Another question for the therapist that I don’t have.’ He couldn’t deny the pull he felt towards Paris no matter how hard he tried. There was no reason to go though, but there was no reason to stay either. They were all fine without him before why would this time be different?
It was then Jason was reminded the coms were still on and that Tim was an insomniac, “Paris? What are you talking about?”
“Don’t worry about it Timmy. I’m just thinking about taking a vacation. Don’t tell B yet, I’m not sure I should even go,” He knew it wasn’t Tim’s fault, but he couldn’t help but feel that familiar tingle of resentment towards his brother. He shook the feeling away, “I just need a breath, Gotham seems to have me dying all over again.”
Tim reassured Jason that his secret was to be kept between the two of them. The feeling was still gnawing at his being on the way back to his apartment. Red Hood, the light hearted jokester, the one who needed to be restrained, a smiling pillar to the magnifying glass that was Bruce and Dick, was lonely. The question was: is he lonely enough to leave? The answer is yes. Jason is tried of being the second thought, he’s tired of having to report in, and he’s tired of the way the voices take up space in his mind when there’s no company to talk to.
Paris, be prepared. Red is coming to your city and it’s going to become a color of change. Red will paint the streets. Red is going to cause Hawkmoth to rethink if his antics are really worth the price tag that follows.

A/N: Marinette is 19 and Jason is only 20. This could be a series of this is something you all would want to read. I’m a sucker for Jasonette and I love the Maribat genre in general. Please let me know if you want to be tagged also! Thank you all for reading and supporting me!

Since I have no self restraint, I’m writing another prompt/one shot.
Essentially, normal girl Lia (or some OC) whose a big fan of DC comics and the like ends up in a weird inter dimensional accident and ends up in the DC universe (it can be a mix of canon because fuck canon, up to you).
But, where did Lia end up exactly? Fucking Gotham.
The moment she realizes this is decides: Nope. Nah. Nada. No sir-y. This is NOT happening. Fuck this. I might end dying, or, worse, BECOME A FUCKING MAIN CHARACTER IN THE BAT CLAN. NAH. HELL NO.
Lia decides that, no, she will not involve herself in the Bat Clan/Wayne’s at all. Nope. Nah. Too much drama. Too much angst. Too much fucking skin tight suits and my poor Pan heart can’t TAKE all the HOT, RIPPED hero’s like what the fuck.
Now, this can play out in a variety of ways:
Lia is, say, around the same age as one of the Batboys. It can be any of them, up to you. Now, she some how ends up in Gotham Acdemy and begrudgingly befriends them. Cue angst (especially if its Jason. Considering in canon, if Jason survives he becomes Red Robin thats all I know lmao). If Lia is friends with the second Robin, it’d bring up the deliemma of: does she tell him that he’s gonna fucking die and then come back to life. Oh and, she’s actually from an alternate world were everyone thats like a superhero/vigilante is a fictional character. Honestly, if done well, can definitely stir the feelings of the poor saps who read the moral deliemma of Lia. Now, who is Lia? Someone who doesn’t want to get involved. If she avoids Jason in the beginning, does she have doubts and wants to warn Batman of Jason impending death or not? Like, that sort of shit panic attack inducing. There’s a lot of things you guys can do to torture not only Lia, but also the readers who might be like: “TELL HIM! TELL HIMMMMM!!!” or, “fuck, even I don’t know what I’d do” and etc. There’s a lot of leeway.
They are grown, and are in college (let’s say the events of Death in The Family happened and everything surrounding Red Robin striking out to find Bruce whose lost in time). This Lia is much older, recently graduated from college and currently interns for Wayne Enterprises. See, Lia is just another intern in a global colgomerate cooperation, there’s no way she’d ever run into any of the Wayne’s. None at all. But. But. She does. Some how she becomes the Executive Assistant to Tim (he once saw how she managed an entire fucking department’s schedule even though a group of people spontaneously quit. She was able to somehow salvage that shit in under three hours. And, Tim might or might not have fallen slightly in love with her—). Lia, now, a fresh 20-something year old, is now the Executive Assistant to another 20-something year old who happened to run one of the most rich and powerful companies in the entire world holy shit. Now, we follow the adventures of Lia, whose now one of the most powerful persons in the entire company (and proxy the world, I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️). Lia, let’s say, is a fucking god at manipulating people, making connections, accounting and management, and also a Very Tired Recently Graduate of GU. She, cannot, and will not deal with the constant bullshit that the Bats pull regularly. So, Lia can either passive aggressively hint that, yeah Tim, you definitely got that broken arm from a golf accident. Oh hey, I also heard the Red Robin foughy Killer Croc and also sported a broken left arm like you! What a coincidence, right? And she’d say this with a straight face. Tim knows that she knows, and Lia knows that Tim knows and yeah. Alternatively, she could outright tell him: “look, Tim, I swear to god, if you put off another meeting without a day notice just because some gang member got the better of you.” “Wait, gang member—?” “—do NOT interrupt me. Look, I know Bruce Wayne is Batman. Not the whole, ‘Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person! The butts match!’ type of thing. I know he is Batman, you Red Robin, Dick Grayson is Nightwing, Red Hood is the weirdly alive Jason Todd, etc etc. There’s no point in feigning the fact that I don’t know. Because, I do.” They stare at eachother for a bit, and Tim falls just a little more in love. “How... Actually it’s dumb to ask you how you know, but, how long?” “Good tactic to ask me how long I’ve know instead of how I know. But, to answer your question: I’ve know since I was around...” THE FRAME FREEZES now, should Lia say 8, since, technically, she’s know since she was 8 that Bruce Wayne is Batman, considering the whole parallel universe thing. Or, does she say 18, the age in which she arrived into this world? Now, that decision can prompt many things to happen. For one, if Lia says 8, Tim is gonna be so awestruck and also be dry curious. If 18, Tim is still amazed (that she knows at all). Either answer would also illicit this response: “...you’ve known for so long, yet never told anyone?” Lia shakes her head. “You guys have a secret identity for a reason. Plus, I’m not in the business of becoming a vigilante or whatever. I’ve tried my best to steer clear of all of that, in all honesty.” “Huh. Makes sense. Wait. Then... why did you start working at WE, if you knew our identities?” Lia stares at him like he’s grown three heads. “Dude. This is WE. One of the most powerful companies out there, why wouldn’t I work here? But, the ither fact of the matter is that I didn’t expect to become your fucking Executive Assistant. Like, I couldn’t just deny the offer, my mother would’ve disowned my ass the second she heard I turned down such a prestigious position.” Lia shuddered. “Fuck, I can hear her curse me out in like, five different languages.” Let’s also say, at one point or another, Lia’s mother arrives, and say, is the most terrifying person Tim has ever met (and Tim’s faced off against Ra’s al Ghul, a functionally immortal man with a fucking army of highly trained assassin at his disposal).
Lia is tame honest to god tame compared to her mother (if her mother is like, 5’3”, that’s even more hilarious tbh). Essentially, if Lia’s older and somehow become Executive Assistant to Tim (or Bruce, because, fuck canon) it would be so god damn funny (read “The Executive Assistant To Batman” in which Tim nene became Robin but still knows the identities of the various Gotham vigilantes. Oh, and, he’s the Executive Assistant to Batman. It’s so fucking hilarious and y’all gotta check it out. It’s on AO3).
Number 2, is a lot more light hearted compared to the moral deliemma of Number 1 (as, is Lia is the same age as Robin!Jason, and knows that he’s gonna die, but she also doesn’t want to get involved with the vigilantes presents a very large problem). Number 1 is great for angst and a character study for this OC. Number 2, is a more light hearted, fun scenario (as it avoids the can of worms called “Do I Warn the Bats of Robin!Jasons impending death or not because I honestly don’t want to get involved with the Bat.”.
I, personally, would love to read Number 2 (please make Lia, or whatever OC, a god damn Tired of Your Bullshit, amazing assistant to the CEO of WE, competent af and very, Very Tired of the Bats BS, and, PR is Going To Skin Me Alive and Roast Me Over A Flame). Maybe some drama, angst sprinkled in (there’s the blatant fact that, Lia is a completely different world. One that has superhero’s, aliens, magic and so, so much more. The fact that she’s in her doppelgänger’s body could cause some dissociation/body dysphoria and that sort of stuff. It’s a great opportunity for a character study for Lia/your OC).
Regardless of you choose 1 or 2, the basic premise is:
Some rando kid (or young adult, whichever strikes your fancy) who loves to read Batman/DC in general. Ends up in some weird ass accident that lands them in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Everything about their pervious life and the life in his world is the same (or not, up to you), only difference is that there’s an alien powered by the Sun and that cannot he injured (unless it’s by a glowing green rock). They decide, pretty early on, that they want nothing to do with the vigilantes of Gotham (which also means they have to avoid the Wayne’s and Co, which should be ways right? Right?? Gotham is really big, I’ll probably only ever see them in passing, I’ll be fine—). But, the universe said, LOL, nope. And they end up befriending the Wayne’s somehow. The rest? Up to you. If they befriend Robin!Jason they have to cope with the moral deliemma of getting involved to save his life or not. Or, maybe this is the world where Dick is still Robin. Do we save Jason early on, or not? What about Tim? Cass? Stephanie? Or, what if, they end up in a world in which Jason died and came back, Bruce came back from being lost in the time stream and Damian is now Robin.
Essentially: OC ends up in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Decided not to ever get in involved with the Vigilantes/Wayne’s. However, the universe said nope and they become friends with one of the Bats/Waynes regardless. Now, how the fuck do they cope?
BONUS: Lia manages to avoid the Wayne’s/Vigilantes of Gotham completely. How? She ends working for LexCorp. As Lex Luthors Executive Assistant (basically the same way as she became the Executive Assistant to Tim). Now, she has to cope with the fact that she works as the Executive Assistant for Lex fucking Luthor of all people. She can hear her mother shaking her head in Disappointment™️. She hates the universe. Also, Lex Luthor is pretty open about his Evil, Bastard Schemes with Lia for whatever reason (much to Lia’s utter fucking chargin). She discreetly sends info about these Evil, Bastard, Devious plans to the Bats. Cue her realizing that, to ensure Luthor doesn’t suspect her, she’s gotta get GOOD at hacking and computer science. And get good she does. Like, her utter fucking Done-ness over Luthors Supervillain ways and her wanted to never be found out by the Bats is like taken to Infinty in the 10 dial scale. Somehow, she manages to both avoid suspicion from Luthor (cue intense moments in which Luthor is talking to her, and he’s speaking in a weird direct way that makes Lia think he found out and she mentally plans for her subsequent “death” and fleeing of the country and when Luthor finishes his sentences it just him praising her or something else innocuous. Lia felt like the sun was lifted off her shoulders.) She’s always on edge. Her hair is slowly turning grey. Luthor notices and makes a comment and Lia simply laughs while making a underhand comment about how Luthors bald so he doesn’t need to deal with greying hairs. Lia stops laughing realizing oh shit I just insulted my boss in the most underhand way. What ghe fuck. But Luthor just laughs, much to Lia’s relief. Her hair is still greying from the stress. Anyways, she inadvertently becomes a techno vigilante that can rival the famed Oracle (let’s say, for the sake of this prompt, Lia’s code name is Reaper because she was drunk and apparently in the mind of her 13 year old self when she came up with it). Reaper’s name is slowly growing, as Lia does some other stuff with her new found skills in hacking. She mostly helps the Bats by giving them crucial info on Luthors dealings and the like.
One day, she realizes, that, oh shit. I became the one thing swore I’d never become. What type of Shakespearean shit is my life—
If someone does the situation in which Lia/their OC becomes Luthor Executive Assistant and then inadvertently becomes a Vigilante themselves because, sure, they don’t want to get involved, but, fuck Luthor and Eat the Rich. Also, I would love it if said fic included the most stress inducing scenes were it seems like Luthor found out about Lia and the whole Reaper situation but he actually DIDN’T and Lia is here like, sweating god damn bucks while her hair slowly falls out. Please. Write this shit. It would be
✨Immaculate✨
Anyways, hope you like this prompt/one shot because I damn well enjoyed writing it!

Okay, you got me on board the Jason Todd/Jimmy Olsen rare pair train and I am dying to know anything you are willing to share about the abo idea you were thinking of! 😍 (No pressure. I feel like I am pressuring, but this pair. 😭)
Oh gosh, would Jimmy be the alpha or Jason? Or would they both be omegas? Or Jimmy an alpha that everyone mistakes for an omega or Jason an omega who everyone mistakes as an alpha or vice versa? Oh, the shovel talks from the respective friends and family! Would there be shovel talks? Wait, why do I see Jimmy helping a pregnant Jason? Like Roman or someone gets Jason pregnant and Jimmy steps up to help him with the pup since Jason is on the outs with the family and Roman is out of the picture?
Hope you don’t mind me putting them both into one post because NOW WE’RE COOKING!! :O
I was thinking all kinds of scenarios, but now I am thinking it would be cool of both were omegas. And Jimmy is a very traditionally raised one, meek and agreeable, but also trying to be stronger, to be like the person he looks up to - Lois Lane, hardass omega reporter. So, he’s trying, but it’s going slowly - he has none of Lois’ grace and smooth-talking skill and is a bit too honest to weaponize his designation like she does when necessary. He was always considered a ‘homely’ type, the kind of an omega that will do best by finding himself a mate and taking care of them and the household. Not in a medieval way or anything, but everyone that knows him knows that Jimmy is just not made for the cutthroat world of investigative journalism.
And Jimmy agrees, he wants to have a mate and a family sometimes, but he also wants more, he wants to do more, be strong enough to do good for others and being a journalist seems like the best way left to him. So, he’s trying his best to get better and stronger, but it’s a slow-going process. Perry hired him as a photographer, hoping that the boy will stay out of trouble and Lois is gently encouraging the kid, but knows that he needs to get his act together quick if he wants to survive in the world he wants to look into.
And Clark - poor Clark - is in constant conflict about Jimmy. He loves that kid and wants what’s best for him, and with the frequency he gets into trouble sometimes the best option seems to be cutting that whole journalist business in the bud and encouraging the kid chose a safer profession. But then again, Clark would never dare to do it, because Lois would bite his head off and he does want to support the boy’s dreams... it’s just that he worries so much.
And then one day, Jimmy, who was slowly coming to the realisation that he may be not good enough for the job, happens upon the Red Hood. He was in Gotham due to the yearly charity gala at Wayne’s Tech as a photographer, and while he was there to take shots of the rich and affluent, he overheard something shady and went in to investigate it in his reckless way. And he ended up in a bit of hot water - hanging off the beam in a warehouse surrounded by Black Mask’s man who are trying to decide what to do with the drugged up omega. Give him to the boss? Do away with him now? The kid has seen a deal going down, he needs to be silenced, even though he’s kind of cute...
And that’s how Jimmy meets Mr Hood in person for the first time - over a pile of beaten up thugs and crates of weapons - the vigilante taking him off the chain, careful hands checking him for injuries and a gruff voice saying “A photographer? Wow kid, you have no sense of self-preservation, do you?” before the familiar red cape appeared out of the dark and he was picked up by the familiar arms. “Whoa, Supes, I didn't do squat to your little pal so clam the fuck down! I’ve just saved his damn skin!” which was true and Jimmy wished he could confirm it. “Yeah, maybe keep of your damn omega on a shorter leash then!” which was not very true and Jimmy wished he wasn't drugged, so he could explain how he wasn't a damn pet!
And that’s how Jimmy became obsessed with Gotham’s darkest vigilante - first finding him to thank for the rescue and give him a piece of his mind, and then with uncovering the truth about him. And he did it, Jimmy uncovered the Hood’s real identity - and then spent a weekend in his room, staring at the wall, because that... that seemed impossible and so, so terrible. And it was his first successful piece of investigative journalism and he could tell no one about it - because once you got one thing right, other followed - the ever-revolving door that were Robins, suspiciously corresponding with Bruce Wayne acquiring new ‘sons’, the Batwoman disappearing roughly at the time Barbara Gordon was crippled, Bruce Wayne’s erratic behaviour and, frankly, his ridiculous persona... it all made sense and yeah, Jimmy was going to go to bed and wake up in a basement, surrounded by rich people who will disappear him form the face of the Earth.
It’s a complete accident when he happens across Red Hood again - and it’s even more of a coincidence that once more he’s inebriated and loose-tongued, and the first thing that comes out of his mouth is “Gosh, Mr Todd, you grew up so tall!” and it nearly gives Jason a stroke. Some sobering time in an underground safehouse later, Jimmy spills the beans and the Red Hood just - laughs. This deep, rich chuckle, and he’s like “I knew Tim could not be the only person able to connect the damn dots!” and it’s all the confirmation Jimmy needs to know that he’s about to be executed mafia-style.
Except, Mr Todd doesn't execute him. He tells Jimmy to shuffle back to Metro and if you won’t tell, I won’t tell and you can walk free, kid. Which is a very good ending to that whole story.
Except it isn't an ending, because now Jimmy is curious and invested, because Mr Hood isn’t a bad person everyone wants to make him to be. Another startling discovery is that Mr Hood (Seriously, Olsen, stop with the Mr!) is an omega.
An omega who takes no shit from anyone and is strangely invested into convincing Jimmy that he doesn't have to take it either! An omega that’s big and strong, and so terribly imposing that even Batman doesn't intimidate him and most of the alphas get out of his way, and... and that’s a very compelling image to hang in front of poor Jimmy Olsen, who night have realised that he may be a bit gay.
Oh dear.

Trouble in Gotham
By: SassyShoulderAngel319
Fandom/Character(s): DC, BatFam, The Flash - Jason Todd/Red Hood, feat. Barry Allen/Flash, & BatFam
Rating: PG
Original Idea: This is what happens when you’re still over-obsessed with the BatFam but try to catch up on the Flash TV show at the same time... (Season 3... I’m way behind.)
Notes: (Masterlist)(By Character)(About Me) This is what is referred to in the Sanders Sides fandom as a Mud Fic---or a muddled fic---because I didn’t want to write any context.  Also this one is LONG! @welovegroot @batboys-and-other-messes
^^^^^
I slid to a stop next to the Batmobile in the Batcave. "Whoo! That was fun!" I said brightly.
"Welcome back, Volt. Decent patrol, I assume?" Batman asked from the computer.
"What do you mean? I was out for two days. You didn't seriously assume I was patrolling the whole time, did you?" I asked.
"You okay, Volt? Did you hit your head?" Tim asked. "You were only gone for like two hours."
"Sorry. I guess it felt like two days. That happens when your mind can run as fast as your legs," I said. "So where's Jason? I thought he'd wanna give me a welcome-back kiss."
"Who?" Damian asked, not looking up from where he was sharpening his sword.
"Jason. Jason Todd? Brash, impulsive, flirty in the right mood, complete literature nerd who could probably quote the entirety of The Complete Works of Jane Austen? Red Hood? Ringing a bell?"
"Volt, I think Alfred needs to check you for a concussion. There's no Jason Todd here. The last member of the Red Hood Gang fell into a vat of chemicals and then reemerged as the Joker, like, decades ago," Tim said.
Dick pointedly ignored me.
"I know that. And then Jason took up the name when he came back from the dead. He replaced Dick as Robin and then the Joker killed him," I said.
Bruce, Tim, and Damian all glanced at each other. Dick continued to ignore everything---which seemed really unlike him. The three of them looked back at me. "Volt… Tim replaced Rich as Robin ages after Rich took up the name Nightwing," Bruce said. I blinked in confusion, looking between the three of them.
"Rich? Since when has Dick gone by Rich?" I looked over at Dick for an explanation, but he continued to act as though I wasn't even there, turning in his chair so he back was to me. I scrunched my eyebrows.
"Since he was twelve," Bruce replied. "Kids at school made fun of him so he changed what he went by."
"What about the kid that tried to hit you with the tire iron after you caught him stealing tires off the Batmobile?" I pressed, zipping over to the computer.
"That kid didn't try to hit me with a tire iron. He'd been on the streets for a while and it traumatized him. He was scared and alone. I took him to the orphanage three blocks away from Wayne Tower."
"No, you took him in and trained him to be Robin so he wouldn't turn to a life of crime, right?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Volt. Go get some rest. You're obviously confused. You might have depleted your blood sugar so much that you're hallucinating."
"Guys, seriously. I haven't run back in time recently and screwed with the timeline or anything. Stop messing with me. Where's Jason?"
"You know just as well as the rest of us that we and Father do not 'mess with' each other," Damian said, attention still on his sword.
I scrunched my nose. "Uh… right. Be right back," I said.
I bolted out of the Batcave at top speed.
The wind whistled through my hair. I tapped my comm link. "Hey Bruce, can we talk for a sec on a private line?" I asked.
There was a click. "Private line established. What's on your mind?"
"Why is Dick ignoring me? I mean, usually he's, uh, all over the place."
"The two of you broke up three weeks ago. Give him time," Bruce said.
"Broke up? I never dated Dick!"
"Volt, you and Rich were in a relationship for two years."
"No, I dated Jason for this past year," I muttered. "I never dated Dick."
"Young lady, I want you to return to the cave right now, take off your suit, eat a decent meal, and go to bed. You're talking nonsense. There is no Jason Todd in this family, and there never has been."
My heart cramped, so I slid to a stop. Panting, I leaned against a building for support. "I'll be back in a few minutes," I said, killing the comm link connection with a whack at my ear, ignoring Bruce protesting.
I looked at the building across the street.
The orphanage three blocks away from Wayne Tower.
It took me all of five minutes to find Jason's records from the orphanage, trace them through the foster system, and find where he ended up. I felt like I was going crazy. At least Jason Todd existed. I ran all over the city trying to follow his life, and finally skidded on the pavement in front of one of his current places of employment---according to bank records, he had two jobs.
Buuuuut it was one in the morning so, obviously, the place was closed.
I sighed, shook my head, and sped back to Wayne Manor---where I got told off by Bruce for five minutes (that felt like five years) about keeping my blood sugar up and staying well-rested before being sent off to eat and go to bed.
Alfred tried to say something to me, but obviously wasn't sure of what to say so he just told me he hoped I'd enjoy my meal and left the kitchen.
I ate at a normal human pace---because if I didn't I'd get a stomachache---and went to bed.
^^^^^
I slid to a stop around the corner from where Jason worked at ten the next morning and fixed my hair so it wouldn't look like I'd just run five miles at nine-hundred-miles-per-hour. Painting a neutral expression on my face, I strolled around the corner and looked at the sign.
Harper & Todd Garage---Car and Motorcycle Repair
There was Jason, looking the exact same minus the white streak in his hair, sitting on a low stool and using a wrench to twist a bolt on a huge Harley Davidson bike. He didn't have headphones in nor was there music playing from speakers. He didn't even see me approach because he was so focused on his work.
"'Scuse me?" I asked, tilting up onto my tiptoes and back down again.
He glanced over at me shyly and went back to looking at the motorcycle he was working on. "May I help you, miss?" he asked.
"You're Jason Todd, right?" I asked.
"Yes," he said quietly, not looking at me.
"I don't mean to be rude, but do you know who I am?" I took a few steps closer and crouched down so we were closer to the same eye level.
He snuck a quick peek at me---but not one fast enough for a speedster to miss. "Should I know who you are?" He spoke as though he didn't want me to hear, and shied away from me, trying desperately to shrink into himself to avoid this interaction.
It was weird, seeing a six-foot brick house of a man try to occupy as little space as possible. It was nearly impossible. He was just built to be huge.
"Well yeah. I mean, we've been dating for a year," I said.
For the first time, Jason looked at me for longer than a split second, though he still preferred to look at my forehead than my eyes. His eyes swept me up and down and he went back to looking at his motorcycle.
"Miss, I think I'd remember dating a girl like you," he mumbled timidly. "But I've never even had a girlfriend. I think you have me confused with someone else."
"I guess I must. My apologies, Mr. Todd." It broke my heart to call him something besides Jay or Jason. "Excuse me for a moment." I pushed myself back to a standing position and jogged over to the end of the parking lot so I was out of earshot of the man who I'd shared countless moments with who now no longer even remembered my name.
I pulled my phone out and searched my contacts for a familiar name. Selecting it, I held the phone up to my ear.
"Hey what's up?" a familiar voice asked when the call connected.
"Heeeeey Barry… so… did you run back in time recently?" I asked, striving for casual. "Like, say, maybe fifteen years back or so?"
"Uh, yeah, actually. I did. But it was an accident. Why what's up? How did you know?"
"I'm, uh… I'm having a little trouble in Gotham. Because my boyfriend is no longer my boyfriend. He doesn't remember who I am, he was never adopted by Bruce and never trained to be Robin or Red Hood, and he has the exact opposite personality to the one he's supposed to have. He's supposed to be brash and loud and impulsive and flirtatious when he's in the right mood and now he's scared of me---me, a five-one pipsqueak who looks like a middle-schooler---and acting shy. Jason is not supposed to be shy. Jason is the bravest and one of the most gregarious men I've ever met. Oh, also, supposedly I just broke up with his older brother---who I never dated and is now not his older brother---three weeks ago," I ranted.
"Wait. So, if the timeline shifted and changed, how come you can remember it? Usually I'm the only one," Barry said.
"I don't know, and I don't care. I want my life back. I want Jason back. Am I particularly angry at the fact that he's no longer a somewhat-reformed killer? No. But I want my Jason back."
"Volt, you know I can't go back and try to fix it. You know that awful things happen when we meddle with time too much. If I go back and try to fix what I did yesterday, I might just make things worse."
"What if you just go back to yesterday then and stop yourself from jumping back in time farther?" I suggested.
"I, uh, I don't think that will work either."
"Fight me, Allen. I'll do it," I snapped.
"No. No, no, no, no, no. Don't do that. You're just going to mess up the timeline even more."
"I doubt that. I'm doing us both a favor." I hung up my phone, shoved it in my pocket, tied my hair back in a ponytail---that I tucked down the neckline of my shirt---and glanced over my shoulder. Jason was still working on the motorcycle, covered in grease, and paying me no attention.
I bent my knees, shook my head, and bolted forward.
I ran to Central City first, skidded to a stop in front of Barry, slapped him for being an idiot, and then sped off again before he could catch up to run through time. Just to yesterday to stop Barry from running back even farther.
Which I did. I tackled him into the pavement, both of us going sprawling. "What is your problem, Volt?" yesterday-Barry demanded, staggering to his feet. "What are you even doing in Central City? I thought you lived in Gotham."
"Listen Flash, you were just about to run back in time way too far. Tomorrow-you told me it was an accident. I'm choosing to believe him. But by running back by accident, even if you didn't change anything, changed my entire life. So don't. You. Dare," I snapped. "You made my boyfriend lose all knowledge of my existence---and become the exact opposite of who he's supposed to be. Whilst also changing it so instead I was dating his older brother and just broke up with him. A relationship I don't even remember! So don't even think about breaking the space-time continuum today."
"Okay. I'll slow down," Barry said. "I really wasn't intending to travel through time today."
"Good. Keep it that way. Because if you do run back in time, you'll ruin my life."
"I won't. Sorry, Volt."
"I'll accept your apology tomorrow when my life is back to normal," I said before taking off again.
I ran back to tomorrow, the right day, and left Central City, heading for Gotham.
I slid to a stop in the Batcave. It was empty of people, but the equipment was still present. "Bruce? Dick? Jason? Tim? Damian? Cassie? Alfred? Steph? Babs? Anyone here?" I shouted.
No response.
I ran through the city to the place where I'd last seen Jason---the garage.
It was boarded up and rundown with Gio's Garage painted over the door.
I bolted back to the Batcave, up the stairs, and through the manor, looking for my family.
"Miss Watts, what has Master Bruce told you about running in the house?" Alfred asked as I slid on my socks all the way across the ballroom with my momentum. I stumbled and fell over before scrambling back to my feet.
"Sorry Alfred. Where is everyone?"
"You've all been out for two days on a mission. The rest of the family went out shortly after you did with no way of telling you they were also leaving. You're the first to arrive back. I suggest you eat something and get some rest. I shall alert you when the others return."
"Thanks Alfred."
I did as he suggested. Ate a lot of food and then went to take a nap---but I did it down in the Batcave on a gurney so that I'd know when the others came back.
^^^^^
The roaring of Jason's motorcycle engine woke me up---I'm not sure how long after I went to sleep.
The Batmobile followed right behind it into the cave.
I leapt off the gurney as Jason slung his leg off his bike.
At a normal human speed, I ran at him. "Jason!" I exclaimed.
He threw off his Red Hood helmet and held his arms out.
I jumped on him, wrapping my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, peppering his face with kisses before drawing him in for one long, relieved kiss. His hand found the back of my head and he kissed me back enthusiastically.
"Ugh. Get a room you two," Tim complained.
"For once, I agree with Drake. Todd, Watts, you are revolting," Damian said.
"What was that for?" Jason breathed against my lips, ignoring his brothers.
"Two days apart is twenty-one-hours too long," I whispered. Jason held me close.
"What's wrong?" he asked. "You're not usually like this. Even after missions longer than two days."
"I'll tell you later," I promised. "For now, just hold me. Please." I let my legs down, so I was no longer climbing on him like a jungle gym, but I didn't let him go. He wrapped his arms around me.
"Okay lovebirds," Dick teased. "You're not the only two people in the world you know!"
"Shut up, Dick!" Jason snapped, a smile in his voice.
Everything was okay. For the moment, everything was perfect.

Kate Kane faces a jury of her peers. The Bat Family convenes to cast their judgement on the actions of Batwoman who stopped Clayface from destroying Gotham, by murdering him.

DETECTIVE COMICS # 975 Writer: James Tynion IV Artist: Alvardo Martinez Inker: Raul Fernandez Colorist: Brad Anderson Letterer: Sal Cipriano Cover Artist: Martinez, Fernandez, & Anderson Variant Cover: Rafael Albuquerque Editors: Chris Conroy & Dave Wielgosz Group Editor: James S Rich Publisher: DC Comics
What You Need to Know: Clayface was out of control and larger than ever. A serum to make him revert to his human form was created by Dr. October, and a bullet infused with this mixture penetrated Basil Karlo’s Cerebral Cortex. The shot was taken by Batwoman, and then she faced the scorn of Batman and their team alike. None more than Cassandra Cain.
Kate is Bruce Wayne’s cousin. She is also marked by losing a loved one at an early age. Here a touching interaction between Kate and Bruce upon the tragic death of her Mother. Bruce advises his younger cousin the best he can, but it seems that she has a truly darker take on revenge than he does.
The look we see in Young Kate’s eyes is mirrored to the woman that she’s grown to be. It is clear that she does not regret her decision, and will be ready to face the consequences as such, but she seems to be haunted by Cassie Cain, who was in love with Basil.
What You’ll Find Out: Batman has called the entire family to the Batcave to meet and discuss Batwoman’s actions. Dick Grayson (Nightwing) stops off at the Clock Tower to check on Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) and rib her about taking notes to a family meeting.
Barbara (who has a photographic memory) understands that still after all these years it’s important to be prepared to debate with Batman, and is formulating her strategy as well as the argument. Nightwing is more of a man of action.
Cassandra, who has been staying at Wayne Manor, instructs young Damian on a lesson in personal Space and Manners. Tim wishes he had it on video. But the group heads down to the Batcave to begin.
Except they are surprised by the inclusion of someone unexpected, as they encounter Jason (The Red Hood).
What Just Happened? Batman instructs everyone, that he wants to have all sides of the argument considered.
Meanwhile, Kate communicates with Luke (Batwing) while she fights some Gorilla Gangsters and Monkey Mobsters. They discuss the possibility of starting their own team with Jean-Paul Valley (Azarel).
The discussion goes on and shifts perspective from player to player, well Damian does not particularly care, but Nightwing weighs in. Then Red Hood surprises everyone with his speech, yet no one was surprised by who he sided with based on his leanings towards violence.
Then Barbara shocks the room by attacking Batman directly. She says that they were all called here because they know Bruce better than he does himself and that they think he has a problem with Kate as his only living connection to his Mother Martha (your Mother’s name is Martha? Just joking). She says that this is not about Batwoman, but about Batman and his own feelings. No one comes to a verdict, and based on the argument that Barbara has, Bruce quietly ponders what she says.
Kate shows up to pay her respects at her mother’s grave.Soon the choice is made by Kate, and she appears to go back to working for the Government with her Father. It seems that he anticipated her answer and was at the ready with his fleet of aircraft.
Rating: 8 / 10 Final Thought: Though much less action, this one has all the hallmarks of a well-written story that furthers a plot. The addition of Red Hood was excellent and shows that the Bat-family is indeed in favor of granting second chances, and it is far better to get some conflict in the discussion because it would be worthless if everyone simply agreed with Batman. Barbara may be the gutsiest character in the DCU with her speech to Bruce. It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here. Will there be a division and conflict or a reconciliation with the promise of turning over a new leaf? We have seen what can happen in the past when Batman is not in control.
