Ah, yeah... Unfortunately a non-insignificant number of antishippers seem to genuinely believe they own the concept of trauma, so any story they read that they believe to be portrayed in a romanticized or sexualized light therefore must be romanticizing/sexualizing their trauma specifically.

I couldn't tell you the amount of times I've gotten the "stop sexualizing my trauma!!!!!!" or adjacent comments from antishippers that universally garner a response that basically boils down to

Like, bitch! I'm talking about my trauma! I literally did not even know you existed until you fucking commented!

It's happening again folks.

The anti-idol factory fans have come out of the woodwork on ig and twitter to protest the "Dream" finale being paywalled and they've resorted to insulting the show itself. Those of us who don't want to pay have to wait until August 7th to watch it for free on Idol Factory's youtube.

I reached out to a friend to ask if they've done this for every series because I've only ever watched "The Sign" and "Dream" as they've aired 'live' and this is what they responded with:

This person has the patience of a saint, so to see them respond like this really took me by surprise- stirring the pot is more my style than theirs😏. I said as much and they went on to say this:

I'm not trying to involve this person in any drama by including their messages, but why they said what they said is very relevant. Most of the complaints I see come from interfans and not Thai fans. And as an interfan myself, I can admit that there's a certain expectation of privileges that we are used to.

My friend -who is Thai to be clear- has been extremely generous with their patience when dealing with interfandom bullshit. Overly so, if you ask me. They have been straight up ignored when discussing their own culture. Or even worse, spoken over. When I tell you they deserve this fucking vent, I mean it.

Something to keep in mind whenever we complain about how production companies from another country operate. Saint has always been very upfront about the amount of money he sinks into series production. Idol isn't doing this out of some twisted sense of corporate greed *cough cough* GMM *cough cough* Yes, there will always be a profit margin because that's how business works, but the money Idol makes does cycle back into the series they produce FOR THEIR FANS. As far as I've seen, they are the only Thai production company that has uploaded every single one of their series UNCUT to youtube for free viewing with subs. It's okay if you don't have the financial means to support them, but don't misunderstand where that support is going.

after all's said and done, i think there's a part of jyn that hates herself for jumping so easily back into the rebellion after saw tells her to save the dream. she spent a long eight years imagining how their inevitable reunion would go, how she'd finally get back at him for taking her in and then abandoning her in the name of the cause. . .only to follow through on his orders without a second thought. deep down, there's always a part of here that knew she'd come if saw called for her, despite all of the hurt and trauma she went through because of him.

i think if you use ai to write your fics you are uncreative. i think if you use ai to create your charaters you are uncreative. i think if you let a machine dictate any part of your creative process you are uncreative. i think that people who use ai and use it boldly should be ashamed of themselves and i hope their little websites explode and they're forced to write with their bare hands. if you take the joy out of your own creation, do not expect me to see it as anything other than garbage, and you as the raccoon.
