‘sam and john are so similar’ well okay. sure, to an extent. both sam and john are (or at least sam starts off being) stubborn, relentlessly driven personalities. but i would argue dean has just as much capacity to be like that as sam. sometimes more. ‘sam and john clash because they’re similar’ idk, maybe, i’m sure that could be and probably is part of it to an extent, but i would put it More down to the fact that john treats his sons Awfully and sam reacts to this (as he should!) by fighting it & being angry with him. john and sam could be nothing alike and they’d still fight like hell
& anyway just because dean thinks sam and john are similar doesn’t make it true. half the reason he probably thinks they’re similar is because of his relationship w them, which is the same intense dogged devotion, though with john it’s expressed through obedience and with sam it’s expressed through possessiveness. they’re a family they’re all like each other. sam and dean are alike in a hell of a lot of ways!! yeah sam’s paralleled with john sometimes but he’s also paralleled with mary. yeah dean plays/has played the role of mary sometimes but he also 100% is always striving to fill the role of john. people are complex! sam and dean are complex characters because they’re good characters! not everything is black and white!

the shikimori anime was a failure because it didnt convey how transgender that girl truly is
#maki-sensais top three activities are drawing cute girls making their characters so obviously gay and refusing to draw characters kissing#shikimoris primary colors are pink and pink (with white as a common accent). out of ease/lack of understanding of her own desires as a kid#she modeled herself after her brother/partook in traditionally masculine activities. during this time it was difficult for her peers to#figure out her gender. when she sat down and examined her desires they were to be a cute girl and fall in love. one of the reasons she fell#for izumi was because he was one of the first people to treat her like an ordinary girl. her biggest worries include not being seen as cute#not to mention all the other gay shit she and the other characters get into#i know what im fucking talking about. shes transgender. its not even a headcanon its like fact to me.

i removed the "could be platonic or romantic" tag from the adaptation fic bc these bitches are gay as hell and it's way too interesting a dynamic to ignore

woag. golems
#sprites#modding#ironically. the base golem is my least favorite#the inferno golem i like the magma i did on it#but the ice and wood golems im very happy with#i didn't even know wood golems were a thing in BD and that's bc 'wood golem' is only an enemy in the BD2 demo#it's model is reused for a group of enemies in the full game and the specific texture is reused for 'woody' but#i saw there was a wood golem of any variety and was like 'oh that's sick what if i give each of the vanilla races their own type'#with wood for elves obviously. rock for humans. inferno for goblins. and ice for dwarves#at least ideally. for some reason animal entity tokens wont actually give dwarves the ice golem#every other race's animal token works great. just not dwarves#so ice golems are just a common domestic instead#close enough#the wood golems im trying to make an actually tough plant type enemy so elves have a lot of fire power in sieges#so far they're pretty tough! turns out making them made of A Lot of tissue layers makes them a lot more durable

While I’m on my high horse: if you’re going to disagree with someone or judge them for something they said, at least have the decency to do it with what they actually said instead of your interpretation of it.
Stating that something happens is not endorsement of it. Posting analysis of something is not inherently a claim that one’s analysis is the only possible correct reading. Calling something “common” is not the same as arguing that it’s a majority. Enjoying a particular narrative in fiction is not and cannot be real-world apologism because that fiction is not real. And so on.

anti-racist reaction is so strongly and utterly universal in brazil (in response to attacks against vini jr in spain) that i reckon racism is going to be eradicated in 50 years or so just like smallpox (it’s a virus of the mind, so to speak). it’s incredible. there’s no one in brazil, not in its whitest regions, where whites number up to 80% of the population, that will say in public that an anti-racist protest is reverse racism (they might claim it’s a waste of time, but not that the initiative is misled. eradicating an opinion in public, making it shameful, is the first step to eradicating it completely) or the sort. just amazing.

I despise how many games will have stylized characters and then just give up and stop there. like mayybe a weapon or item will be stylized but thats it, all the environments all the scenery, its all the same realistic style of thing and its so boring
#psych/onauts does it so well#so many other games do it so well#its just so common for games to give up after making characters#and thats why so many look the same!! even if they're 'stylized' you can only see it in the characters#i feel like if you wanna make a unique and stylized game you gotta be able to take out the characters and still have people know what game#its from#like pn2 has everything stylized down to the fucking *particle effects* and games are still out here using the same#looking enviroments and textures and particles and models for everything

Graph I was shown in 8th grade biology. It's a really simple concept to understand, and anyone who thinks getting rid of local predator animals will be beneficial to wildlife either hasn't thought about it whatsoever or is lying to you.
Prey > Predators: Predators have ample food supply and their population grows until it reaches a tipping point.
Prey < Predators: The diminished prey population can no longer sustain the large predator population. With not enough food to go around, the predator population shrinks, allowing the prey population to recover.
And then it starts all over again. Welcome to the ecosystem.

11. What was your inspiration for your OC?
Minki was the fallout of one of my Vargas AU brainstorm session actually (how??) where I was trying to come up with a pun for a potion shop owner - she came name first, then the logo of her business, then her full design! I ended up being so happy with her that I fully fleshed her out into her own character and she's taken up residence with a few other OCs that I haven't explored quite as much, but I have thought about a good clip
20. If they fight, what’s their weapon of choice?
Minki is a potions witch! She's not much for fighting herself - she makes a business of selling her potions so other people have the upper hand in their fights - but she keeps some in reserve if she needs to defend herself! A basic set of strength, stoneskin/defense buff - a fire-res in conjunction with a bottled fireball is quite effective on any hopeful intruders hehe

So about that "maybe I'll make an LOD1 of the clamp, too" thought. I now get to figure out where I should offer this as an asset for purchase and how I should format that deliverable. Ko-fi will be the easy option since they already have my payment information, whereas Sketchfab has some traffic coming in for the freebies already so it would make sense to offer there as long as fees or time overhead isn't obscene. If you have advice as a seller or purchaser of 3D assets, please feel free to share!
#dragon roll#cj gladback#blender#3d modeling#one of the things I need to decide is whether it'll cheapen the product to include a blender file along with a common export#because like the armature won't have constraints when imported back in and i've seen at least one newbie to unity struggle with textures#without being able to see how they should be attached for my CC-BY pizza box (to be fair I think that person didn't even know#what a normal map was and they didn't seem to think to look at the documentation once they saw messages about texture packing#which at least for that version/pipeline they were on required a specific order of packing in one file#so they were struggling with having multiple greyscale images--whereas on the LOD1#where I needed AO to get it to look right on the threads i have already packed it with the roughness and metallic#and i didn't check that it was the order unity specifically would expect so that would be another hiccup for that user)#but yeah on the one hand having a blender file would potentially be a good reference and value added for blender users#but it might make everyone else balk at paying for something where they couldn't use a portion of the deliverables#and i'd need to either update it or accept that it would get old and lose value if i don't keep it compatible with newer builds#as always much thought going into it now because i'd like it to be a simple system to do future assets#just doing the same thing so people who purchase from me can also know what to expect with other products#beyond just where to find them#ramblings#tag you're writ

I wish there were easily accessible music rec algorithms that were purely sound based bc oh my god metadata and other user data does Not Work for me
#I know the tech exists for it there are models that learn audio patterns#but yeah#just bc I liked one song by an artist does not in fact mean I will like other songs by that artist#or songs by artists that fans of that one artist liked#or songs in the same genre#I like things that sound good to me but ‘sounds good to me’ is not something I can look up stuff based on#I don’t even think my music taste is that weird or anything#it’s just that it doesn’t seem to fall into the most common ways of categorizing music#like I understand why you would assume if you like one song by an artist you prob like other songs by that artist#but it isn’t the case often enough to be that useful to me#456 words
